How soon we got everything going? Well, that's it's up to you. You know who this guy is? No. You've never seen him before? I've never seen him before. You're going to jail today for solicitation of murder. You're under arrest. Some evil wives seem to think that murder is easier than divorce. But what happens when the hitman they've hired turns out to be an undercover cop? And the police are already two steps ahead. I'm Sergeant Ramsey. I'm I'm the one that called you. Thank you for coming. I'm sorry to call you. Listen, we had a report of a disturbance at your house and there were shots fired. Is your husband Michael? Okay, I'm sorry to tell you, ma'am. He's been killed. He's been killed, man. I'm sorry. No. Listen. No. No. Try to calm down. These were the moments when evil wives thought they'd planned the perfect crime, but it failed miserably. Starting off with the case of a picture perfect family with a model mom and a former NFL star dad. However, under the surface, sinister things were in the move. So, as a witness for me, that's why I called y'all. You called? I called. Lindsay Sh, a 36-year-old beauty queen, was living what most would call the dream. She was married to Robert Shiver, a 38-year-old former NFL star. Together, they had three beautiful children, a sprawling multi-million dollar mansion in Georgia, and just for good measure, a luxury vacation home in the Bahamas. The kind of place where you wave good morning to neighbors like Michael Jordan and Tom Brady. On the outside, it looked like a picture perfect fairy tale, but under the surface, cracks had started to form. And by February of 2023, the dream had shattered. Both Lindsay and Robert were done. They wanted a divorce. So, what what's going on? Y'all are separated or what what's the the deal? We have filed for divorce. Okay. Living in the same house. It's hell on earth as you can imagine. Okay. But anyway, woke up this morning. We have travel plans to leave. Mhm. And he's insisting that I don't go. Okay. After the split, Lindsay stayed in the house with the kids and with Robert. Living under the same roof while going through a divorce was a true recipe for disaster. The tension was thick, arguments were frequent, and one of those confrontations actually ended up on police body cam. It was April 30th, 2023 in Thomasville, Georgia. The footage shows Lindsay speaking with first responders outside the home alongside her mother-in-law, who had also shown up during the incident. Frustrated and emotional, Lindsay told officers she was in the middle of a heated custody battle. Where has your husband been staying? Oh, at my house. Okay. Lovely situation. So, he just isn't home. He hasn't come home yet. Mm-m. Okay. I'll try my son who I tried earlier and had talked to and he told me they were in Wigum, but now I'm sure Robert's got him not answering the phone. On the way back this morning, they were in Wigum 20 30 minutes ago. Mhm. 23 and then I get the message that they're dropping he's dropping them with his parents who have no rights. Okay. So, as a witness for me, that's why I called y'all to meet me at his parents' house. You called? I called. I was the first one to call. I don't I asked who my complaintant was and they said the white Lexus. And then No, I called first. Okay. This morning. And then I've been on the phone with the attorney and trying to dial them to ask them where the kids were and where they were meeting them so that I could call. Robert Shiver was a local star, a standout athlete back in his days at Brookwood School in Thomasville, Georgia, where he juggled baseball, basketball, and football. But by April 30th, 2023, none of that mattered. Another deputy from the Thomas County Sheriff's Office responded to a call not from Lindsay, but from her mother-in-law. According to the report, Lindsay had been following her around and making threatening remarks. So, they called and said that you were following them and harassing them and that's why that's not the truth. I was just trying to see where they were going to meet my kids if I needed to call you to tell you it was the gas station or Instead, Lindsay said she was the one who called dispatch following her attorney's recommendation. When did you call dispatch? Let's see. told a lot of people this morning now at 12:38. Okay. So, that was probably the that might have been the original call then. I don't know if there's no I mean there's no crime here. So, we're not But where are my kids? Oh, I don't know. It must be They got to be with your husband. It's just what? Just frolicking around and can until he drops them with them. The deeper you looked, the clearer it became. This wasn't really about parenting. The children had become pawns in a much uglier game. Caught in the middle of two parents who weren't just trying to move on. They were trying to win. And in this battle, custody wasn't about what was best for the kids. It was about control and payback. When was he supposed to bring the bring back to you? This morning. Oh, yeah. No one answering the phone. Yeah. The whole reason we're here is they said that you were following them and they they uh said you were harassing them and let me read it. I'm pretty sure they said threatening them, but if you ain't talked to them then I didn't talk to them at all. The first responders were told by dispatch that the reporting party, Lindsay's ex-in-laws, had reported that Lindsay might be armed. They were saying that you were following them obviously and that you got a gun, which isn't illegal. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter though. But I don't. And Oh my god. Yeah. So she mother-in-law something is she's freaking out apparently. Hypic mental issue. All three of the people in the car have Yeah. They don't need my kids. Yeah. Yeah. They're saying the same thing. That's why we show my kid and that they don't have a right to. Yeah. Can I try to call my husband with you right here? Later on, Lindsay's mother-in-law brought up the alleged weapon again, this time directly questioning the officer about it. Lindsay stood her ground, calmly, insisting that she absolutely did not have a weapon. The responding deputy clarified that Lindsay hadn't broken any laws and advised the in-laws to return home. But instead of letting things go, the mother-in-law claimed she was a nervous wreck. You guys can go about your business, okay? If she's following you or you feel like she's threatening you in any way from moving forward, you can call 911. Again, with what we have right now, I'm afraid there's nothing we can do. Okay. This whole thing's been documented and recorded, so you ain't got to worry about that. She's She's We just don't have nothing. We're not done. There she is right there. That's not her. Is that somebody else? That's somebody else. Make me nervous. I'm nervous. Lindsay's mother-in-law then voiced her concern about returning home to Robert and Lindsay with the kids, calling it a toxic environment and even hinted at Lindsay's mental state. Lindsay was not answering their phone calls all day today. So, they thought she killed herself to be honest and had taken an overdose or something. Lindsay hadn't answered any calls that day, leading her in-laws to fear the worst that she had taken her own life. Lindsay and Robert Shiver met in a fitness class at Auburn University and married in 2010 and have since had three boys. But behind the perfect image, things were unraveling. Lindsay grew restless and eventually had an affair. She lived a double life. The picture perfect Georgia housewife at home and a thrillseker in the Bahamas where the family owned a vacation home. Just 3 and 1/2 months after that first body cam incident, another one surfaced. This time from July 16th, 2023. So, what what's going on? when y'all are separated or what what's the the deal? We have filed for divorce. Okay. Living in the same house. It's hell on earth as you can imagine. Okay. But anyway, woke up this morning. We have travel plans to leave. Mhm. And he's insisting that I don't go. Okay. And then I have my keys. He start moves me out of the way. Starts trying to unload my car. Tells me he owns the car. He owns the rights to it. just got super aggressive and that's when I called immediately cuz he's been physical before and I'm just not Okay. So, are you just wanting to leave or is he supposed to be going with you? Yeah, we're supposed to be going with our kids. Okay. All right. Um, so I don't know what that's what I was asking dispatch like what y'all can do if there's even but of course now he's inside acting. Lindsay told officers she called them that morning because Robert had physically blocked her from leaving and tried to remove their kids' suitcases from the car. They had travel plans, but tensions had boiled over. The couple's vacation home was on Great Abico Island, a quiet corner of the Bahamas. Robert had grown suspicious and hired a private investigator who eventually snapped photos of Lindsay with her 28-year-old lover, Terrence Adrienne Bethl, who went by Adrienne. When Robert discovered the affair in February, Lindsay's friends and family begged her to walk away. But by then she was completely consumed by Adrien. That obsession widened the rift between her and Robert, eventually turning into this situation that brought police to their home. The responding officer then asked Lindsay plainly, "What do you want us to do?" I mean, I don't know what it is that you want us to do. I mean, if y'all are have filed for divorce and y'all are going on a vacation, other than telling him he needs to calm down, I don't personally recommend you go on a vacation if together if they're sick. if there's an issue like that and y'all have filed for divorce. I mean, it's obviously a hostile situation. So, is there a way that you can go without him or I mean, the best thing what we're going to do is tell y'all that y'all need to separate. I mean, has he put his hands on you that, you know, have y'all been physically aggressive today? I mean, no. Just besides him moving me out of the way of my car to get to it. Yeah. But she's also advising that. Okay. Okay. What do you mean he moved you out of the way? Like pushed me out of the way so he could get to my car and start unloading it. Okay. Coming up, the officers got to speak with Robert to ask him if he'd been physical towards her. Okay. So So what's going on this morning? So for the last 3 weeks, maybe longer, she's had her couple's trip planned with her boyfriend to go to Key West. Okay. But she just said you're going I'm taking my kids, my three boys to the Bahamas. This is our kids. our kids. Yesterday, she sent a message saying that she's going to change her plans and now get on the airplane with me and the kids to go to the Bahamas that I own landed. She's going to go to her boyfriend elsewhere and me and the kids are going to our house. When Robert discovered Lindsay's affair 5 months earlier, he confronted Adrien with a sarcastic jab. Thanks for taking care of my wife. Soon after, Robert cut off Lindsay's access to their Bahamas home and their shared private jet. In early April, he officially filed for divorce. He argued Lindsay wasn't entitled to alimony since she had a marketing degree from Auburn and was fully capable of supporting herself. In the filing, Robert requested sole custody of their three sons and asked to keep their $2.5 million 7-bedroom home in Thomasville, Georgia, along with all the furnishings and his vehicle. Meanwhile, Lindsay had planned a couple's getaway to Key West with Adrien, but suddenly changed course, choosing instead to fly to the Bahamas with him and the kids aboard their private jet. Robert wasn't having it. He refused to let her on the plane with the children, believing it would be too confusing for them. Though Lindsay owned 25% of the aircraft and Robert 50%, he claimed the other co-owner sided with him. Lindsay wasn't getting on that flight. And you're not getting on the airplane. That can mess with the kids heads and it's just something we're not going to do. Well, I own 50% of the airplane. She on paper owns 25 of that and majority owner the owner or the other 50% owner and myself are both in agreeance to not have her on the airplane. So 75% says we don't want you on the plane. Lindsay then brought up the alleged push incident in an attempt to gain sympathy from the officers. Doesn't mean you get aggressive. Push me out of the way. Start unloading my car. push you out of the way. Yes. At the back of the car. Okay. Lindsay, I do not push you or anything. He doesn't want me to go. I raised the back to grab my kids suitcases with a locked car so we could leave. I'm going to tell you both like I told you a minute ago, y'all are filed for divorce. Okay? In situations like this, the best thing that we always recommend is y'all separate. Don't just separate from each other. You don't need to be going on vacation together if you file for divorce. And it's obviously a volatile situation. That's right. That I mean I don't I don't know how else to to put it other than that. Okay. Um as far as the pushing and shoving, say Georgia advises that um you put your hands on each other. That is an act of simple assault and you can be arrested on that for family violence. Okay. Um, you're saying he did, he's saying he didn't. So, I got I can't I can't I can't sit here. It's a he said, she said situation. We run into it all the time. So, what's going to All the people that I know, if I'm aggressive or personal, do you want me to show them the photos? Okay. So, here's what's going to happen today. I'm going to generate a report that we were out here and that we made contact with the both of you. I'm going to generate a report that states you said he physically moved you away from the vehicle by pushing you away from the vehicle. You say I didn't do that. I opened the back hatch of the vehicle, got suitcases out the suitcase and she stepped in front saying you're not grabbing them and moved me out of the way. Exactly. Move you, Robert. That we're not going to go back and forth. That's how we're going to do that. While the officer was writing the report, Robert clarified that he hadn't done anything wrong as he was merely moving luggage from a vehicle that was in his name. Now, since since I own this vehicle and it's solely in my name, it's marital property right now. She still has access to it. Okay, I understand she has access to it. But can I not get my kids suitcases out of the back? Yes. You can get your children's property out of it. So, he can get the kids stuff out of my car. It's marital property. Thank you. and I don't have any paperwork saying that he's not allowed access to the children's property. He's just not able to move me out of the way to get it right. The officers left the scene, but the Shiver family wasn't out of the spotlight for long. On the Bahamas Island, a break-in at the bar where Adrienne worked prompted police to search employees phones. What they found cracked the case wide open. Disturbing WhatsApp messages and photos linked Lindsay, Adrienne, and his friend Faren to a plot to kill Lindsay's husband, Robert. One image allegedly sent by Lindsay showed Robert with the caption, "Kill him." During her interview, Lindsay first denied sending the messages, but confessed when confronted with evidence. She claimed she was just venting and had no real intent to kill. Lindseay Shiver, Adrien Bethl, and Faren Newol Jr. were arrested and transferred from Guana to Nassau. They each face up to 60 years in prison if convicted. Moving on to the case of when a Florida woman thought hiring a hitman would be the cleanest way out of her marriage, only to find herself at the center of a police sting she never saw coming. I'm Sergeant Ramsey. I'm I'm the one that called you. Thank you for coming. I'm sorry to call you. Listen, we had a report of a disturbance at your house and there were shots fired. Is your husband Michael? Okay. I'm sorry to tell you, ma'am. He's been killed. He's been killed, man. No. Listen. No. No. Try to calm down. On a seemingly ordinary summer day in 2009, Dalia Dipolito left for the gym early while her wealthy husband Michael was still asleep at home. Moments later, both of their lives would change forever. Michael was allegedly shot twice and pronounced deceased. Or so Dalia thought. She believed this because she had been planning his assassination. But what she didn't know was that the police were already two steps ahead. Dalia had contacted her ex-husband with a chilling request. She wanted her husband gone for good. Unfortunately for Dalia, her ex went straight to the police and a sting operation was launched to catch her in 4K. After her ex-husband reported everything to law enforcement, an officer went undercover posing as a hitman. He met with Dalia after her ex told her he'd found someone who could take care of it. Got a picture of uh the house. Can we get everything? Well, that's it's up to you. I mean, you're going to have like this thing, but like my understanding of everything was that like, you know, I was I was going to give you what I gave you and then that was that was everything. I gave until after the fact and then after the fact, I guess you were going to come and like find me or whatever. I mean, I'm good for it. Like, it's not like I don't have any thing or I mean, I know not to around with you, you know, certain things, whatever. Like, you know what I mean? Like, you obviously know where I'm at. I can get it up by Wednesday if you want me to. You know what I'm saying? But I got to do my homework, you know? I got to, you know, know exactly where the place is and how to get out of there, how to get in and out, you understand what the neighbors want. I got to call the cops, you know, report a to see how fast they get to that location. There's a lot of stuff I got to do that's going to cost me a lot of money. So, if we go ahead and do it like at the house, like how do we how do we What? Could you do it at Wednesday morning it's going to be like I bring him into the house. You know, didn't think it was going to be home cuz everybody works in the daytime, right? I'm going to think he's at work. Boom. He's not at work. Then, you know, he gets to in the head. That's it. You know, I take a couple things with me, break a couple windows, make it look like a robbery that went bad. It's all over. I'm gone out of there. Police is going to be asking you questions. Although, they know it's going to be obvious what it is and they already know, but you know, they're going to ask questions because that's how they got to do it. I don't know how well you handle pressure. You understand? I'm not cuz I don't want No, I'm not going to, you know, I'm a lot tougher than what I look. I know you and you're like, "Oh, what a cute little girl." Whatever. But I'm not You are You're beautiful. Thank you. But, you know, I just need to make sure everything's going to take you between now and when it's done, you know, you have to have an option to change your mind. Even if you change your mind, not talking, there's no changing. No, there is no like I'm determined already. positive like 5,000% Charlotte around 6:30 7:00 he always walks the dog in the morning okay he walks the dog across like over where the lake is and our door is always unlocked I'll be in the house by 6:30 Wednesday morning 6:00 meeting All right so much I guess you'll hear from me I'll hear from you all right all right thanks a lot what you just saw was Dalia's idea of how her husband would be eliminated but little did she know she had walked straight into a trap. The police were monitoring her moves and already knew exactly what she was planning to make the sting operation as airtight as possible. Detectives brought in Michael to inform him about the investigation and what was about to unfold. Detective Marino ID 696 with the beach police department. All right. Also present in the room right now is Mr. uh Michael Dillio. Can you go ahead and spell your last name? Um they already know why we're here. reference this whole incident happened investigation where uh your wife hired somebody to kill. Um however, the detectives had one concern. They needed to understand what had gone wrong in their relationship before revealing their master plan. And pretty much we were on a fast track relationship, getting along great. Everything's great, you know. And uh as soon as we we moved out of Bokeh in January and I purchased a home in Boon and I would say two weeks after we did that uh I I hired a lawyer to get off of probation. Um I started giving my wife money because she was going to provide me with the other half of the money for the probation. And uh just for the record, what were you on probation for? disrupt um organized fraud. Okay. Basically, we were trading commodities that didn't exist. All right, that's enough of that. And then, uh I provided her with $100,000. She was supposed to provide me with 90,000 and my lawyer telling me it's not here. It's not there. She was supposed to send a wire. The wire magically never showed up. And then the story was just unbelievable. And you know, what do I do with that? And then I turned around and I was going to leave. And then she got honest that she messed my money up in some wire scheme where she was supposed to send it and make money on it. And so So how long did you date before you actually got married? We dated from October to January. Okay. So however long that would be exactly. 2 3 months. Months. So that's pretty quick. So you get married and then how long after you get married do you start or do you ever feel that something's not right with her? About a month and a half. Right away the money starts disappearing. Uh I had drugs planted on my truck. The officers came out to search my truck. I'm not a drug dealer. I never was. Where did that happen at? Uh the Rick's Carlton in Manalapan. I came out one day and we were leaving in the morning and officer approached me. Is this your truck? I said yes it is. and and I didn't know what he wanted. He goes, "Can I search it? There's been activity on it. Someone called and I'm like, "Absolutely, you can search it." Officer searches the truck. There's nothing in the truck. He lets me leave. Um I figured someone called, but nobody knew we were there. It's an unexplainable thing. Were any drugs found? The next day I went to get gasoline in the truck. There was in my gas cap. So luckily knowledge of that. No. No. I mean, thank God, you know, I let the officer search the truck cuz there's nothing in the truck. Thank god he didn't find him because, you know, that would have been a disaster. Um, point being though, it was unexplainable. Nobody knew we were there. Nobody knew we were there. So, who do you suspect that planted it? A hunch. A hunch was my wife. Okay. And I played it through my head a thousand ways. I thought it could be I'm laughing. I even thought maybe it wasn't me put it there, you know, and didn't remember. But I don't, you know, the point is nobody knew we were there. Nobody had access to my vehicle except my way. What would her motivation be for doing that? You're on probation after she at that point. Yes. And at that point, she already had stolen hundred and some thousand from me. And uh so now I'm out $100,000 and she got me involved in another scheme to where I lost another 90 or another 100,000 trying to, you know, I basically I lost $240,000 with this girl. It's unexplainable money. For most people, the sudden disappearance of money and being set up as a drug dealer would be massive red flags. On the surface, it looked like Dalia wanted Michael gone so she could run off with the money she had already siphoned from him. I haven't had this many incidents go wrong in my life and and you know, I mean, in my life that I've had since I've met this girl. Like, you know, I haven't had you know, I haven't had my truck searched two, three times. you know, I don't do that kind of, you know, so all of this is very out of character for me. My life is since I met Dalia and since we've been married, um, the dynamics of my daily life have changed drastically. Like I don't have police interaction anymore. I don't, you know, and I've seen the police more than like 10 times probably since I've been with her over stuff that's unexplainable and sounds crazy to people. I don't tell people my business anymore because they think I'm crazy. Let me ask you one question here that's kind of puzzling or that we would like answered if we can. What's her motivation for having you? I mean like why not just get divorced or did she ever mention divorce or separation and never. So what in your mind? What was what's her motivation? We just uh purchased completed a home and I just actually signed the title over to her until I could straighten out my other problems with probation and uh also you know the $20 and some thousand she stole from me I think is a big motivation to basically I guess with my home and everything else is a half a million dollars of uh motivation. Was that money used like restitution to pay back your victims? It was supposed to be her life. Yeah. Right. And she stole it. With that, Michael was brought in on the plan to fake his own death. He was asked to remain at the station during the time of the staged hit. Meanwhile, Dalia was instructed by the fake hitman to be at the gym. That's when police would call her and break the devastating but fake news. Dalia did her best to fake extreme emotion when she was called home and told about her husband's supposed death. Sergeant Ramsay, I'm I'm the one that called you. Thank you for coming. I'm sorry to call you. Listen, we had a report of a disturbance at your house and there was fired. Is your husband Michael? Okay, I'm sorry to tell you, ma'am. He's been He's been listen. Try to calm down. Listen. Right now, what we do, we need to get you to a station. We need to get you to our police station. I can't let you in, man. We have to do our job. If you want us to find this, okay, we need you to calm down. I'm going to need you to go with these detectives. Okay. Does he have enemies? Is there anyone that would want to hurt him? Okay. Who would want to hurt him? Witnesses said they saw a black male running from you. I can't let you see him. Ma'am, ma'am, I cannot do this right now. Ma'am, I can't do it. Detective Yopi, I need you. I need you to take him to the station. I can't. Ma'am, go with these detectives. If you want to help your husband, okay? If you want to help your husband, you need to go to the station with these gentlemen and tell us everything you know about who he knows, who he's connected to. Don't worry, we've already taken care of dogs with animal control for right now. Everything's under control, and we'll take care of everything else. Okay, thank you guys. At this point, Dalia was brought in for questioning. So far, the operation had been a major success, but detectives weren't done yet. They wanted to dig deeper to see if they could uncover even more from her. protocol that we have to do with this with your wife. We got to advise you rights. So, you know, okay, if you don't understand any of them, you just tell me and I'll stop and repeat. First of all, let me just tell you, I'm sorry for your loss. I just want to see my husband, please. All right, honey. I love you. No, you don't want to say no. I just want to see. Believe me, you don't. Could you listen, please? I'm required to warn you before you make any statement that you have the following constitutional rights. This is something because we're going to videotape that I need you to sign also. It gives us the right to videotape it. You want to read that? I don't want to be videotaped. Well, you're being videotaped. That's all part of it. Whose number is this? That's your home number. Oh, we got that from our reports that have been filed here. And then I'll I'll tell you what's going on here. Notice her hesitation when asked to sign off, acknowledging the interview is being recorded. This likely means she knows she needs to tread carefully. Every word she says could be used against her, even though she's caught red-handed. Any additional inconsistencies could land her an even harder sentencing. Listen, is there anybody that you know that you think would want to kill your husband? On probation. For what? He's stock fraud. Stock fraud. How long have you been on probation? Probation. Pro. Did you spend any time in prison? How much do you know? um two years in prison and five years on probation going on to six years. Oh my god. And what was that for? It was for taking money. It was like he explained it like boiler room kind of where they would take money from people. Oh, put it towards things. Yeah. How How long have you guys been married? Not even a year. This is tragic. Is there anybody you could think of that would want to do this to him? I was telling the officers we've had problems already. And what sort of he's been trying to get off probation and it's just been nothing but problems the whole time that he's been trying to get off. Um people weren't happy that he was getting off probation because it's a lot of money he's got to pay back. Well, when you say people, who are you talking about? people that were involved with him before or a little bit of everything. This was supposed to be something when he got off probation. It was supposed to be between us and he went and he told, you know, friends of his, he told, you know, certain people and everyone kind of talks and he's constantly running into a lot of the guys that he was on probation with. Like a couple days ago, we ran into someone and that was a target. I mean, you know, and the guy comes up to us and he's like with organized crime. It seems like a lot of the guys from Bokeh are starting to move up here and we're constantly running into, you know what I mean? A lot of the guys that he he knows and things like that. At this point, something odd happened. Dalia suddenly switched gears. She went from sobbing to speaking calmly and fluently. She started claiming that some of Michael's friends were after his money. More specifically, $191,000. Ironically, that was the exact amount Michael had mentioned earlier when he told police how much she had taken from him. So, it was a lot of money. It was $191,000 that he had to pay back. So, we were going to go ahead and he had the money to pay off the probation, everything like that. And then I guess somehow when he went away, some guys didn't go away. They left. You mean went away? He went to prison, right? Okay. They left the country. And so somehow he was dealing with some of those guys because they thought that he owed them and I don't know something with that that he was taking care of. So the money that he used to get off of probation, he never he he never he never did it. He did something else with that. If we rewind to Michael's interview, he described that money in a very different way. And you know the money actually, you want to laugh? I hired a really good lawyer and we're at the lawyer's office and this guy threw me out of his office cuz he's so disgusted and he's actually I guess a witness in this because he sat with this uh we were at the desk and she had the check for $191,000 as a cashier's check. She wouldn't hand it to my lawyer. My lawyer's looking at me and she's coming up with some cockami story. You know, she wants my her money first. You know, the point was I was done probation. I paid these people their money and she didn't hand it over. The lawyer says, "I can't take the money from her if she's not willing to give it." So, he throws me out. I have to run back now and get her money to give her her money that she supposedly put into this. So, anyway, we exchange money. I run back to my lawyer's office and I hand him the check. It was for $191. So, the check magically changed from $191,000 to $191. My lawyer was a witness to this and uh he chased me down the hall and basically threw me out of his office. He was disgusted because he also warned me something's wrong here and so he fired me. So, that's another sign, huh? Yeah. I mean, so he's a witness to that. Like, he saw the whole thing go down. He saw the real check. He saw the bad check. You know, with that inconsistency in mind, detectives pressed harder to figure out who exactly these friends Dalia was referring to were now. Do you know any of these people, their names or anything like that or where they may live so that we may be able to follow it up? We're not going to we're not going to implicate you. The guys that left, I don't know. Yeah. You don't know? I don't know them. You never met him? No. I mean, I know the guy that we ran into a couple days ago. I I know like I know certain names, you know what I mean? And I know certain families they were on the news like the guys that all just went away. Mhm. I forget what family. See, I Brian and I in the squad that I only work major crimes. We only work or homicides and and very serious assaults and kidnappings and police shooting things like we only specialize in that. We don't we don't work anything else. So I wouldn't know about the prep of money that he may have been involved in or anything else. That's why I'm asking if you know any names and we can run these guys down and see what they know. Well, another those group of guys, they all went away. But he's saying one of them, I guess somehow he had a problem. I don't know what problem he had. It was before we met, he ran into one of these guys and the guy he thought he owed him something or something happened, but they went away. I don't know if the one guy that I'm telling you about, Pasqual, if he also went away or if he did it. But this just happened like a month and a half ago. They all got arrested against the same stock fraud stuff. Again, his first name Pasqual or last I don't know. Is it Pasquali or Pasqual? Pasqual. Okay. What nationality are you? Spanish. My mom's from Peru and my dad's from Egypt. Wow. Yeah. All right. There's uh I understand you got a couple animals at your house, too, right? So, um I guess I want to tell you everything the whole kind of knowing. I did. I want to know. So that's what happened with that. So he didn't know how to tell everybody what was going on with everything. And so he pretty much he told them that like, you know, I had the money and I took it and I got involved in like a Bernie made off kind of scheme because he didn't know how to tell, you know, his mom and everybody what was going on. You're lucky. What? You're lucky you went to the gym. We were supposed to go to the gym. Oh, both you were supposed to go. He didn't know if he was going to He just had lipos suction and he had like two lug handles removed from here. I think he had something little and um two weeks ago he had surgery and yesterday. What kind of surgery? The bctomy like the lipo that he had. Oh, did he used to be real heavy or something? No. Um he used to be and then he got lipo done and I guess the plastic surgeon left like two bulges here. So yesterday we went because he had like blood buildup in his back. So they drained it. So he was like, "Well, depending on how I feel today, but we go every morning. We haven't gone since his surgery, but every morning 5:00 a.m. we're both at the job." Yeah. You got a lot of That's better than me. I wish I could go obviously. Well, you know, he's very um he used to be a What was his choice? Give it to you. And um He's recovering alcoholic and so with him it's very important to be like on a schedule and you know what I mean like have a system and very organized with everything and let's let's get back to u and now like with bad friends came bad habits. Dalia started complaining about Michael's drinking and drug use likely thinking this would give detectives a new angle to explore but at this point it was obvious she was deflecting trying to shift blame away from herself. The detectives didn't buy it. They quickly steered the conversation back to the actual issue, Michael's death, his death. Um, I don't know if you know, he was shot twice. And I want you to know all this. Do you know this? Did they tell you out there? Not exactly. I mean, they told me he was shot when I was at the gym. I got a phone call. I didn't hear my phone ring and I called back and they told me just to please come that something happened at my house. Yeah, he would. Evidently, your husband answered the door and they took him back upstairs and in your bedroom have cameras though. Why would he answer the door? He doesn't answer for anybody he doesn't know. And I mean the only person like his probation officer is like the you know I have no idea. He would not answer the door. We have cameras like at our house. Maybe he knows this person. I didn't know you had cameras because when we got there, some of your neighbors heard the the commotion. We have cameras. The front door has cameras. Back door has cameras, but they don't record. And you they don't record. Nobody knows that they don't. We told everybody they record, but they don't record. Oh god. Because he didn't want them to make a hole in the garage for the recorder to be there because of his car. Well, when we got there, your door was wide open. The officers got there, your door was wide open. They went in and looked you have a they said there was two dogs in the house in a in a crate or a cage or something like that and u um he was found in the bedroom twice in the head. He wouldn't open the door unless it's somebody that he knows because we don't open for anybody. Now you have to understand I wasn't there. Neither was he. We have other people there. So maybe it was maybe somebody broke into the house or something. I don't know. I haven't se I haven't been to the scene yet. All of our rooms have TVs and we look specifically like to make sure nothing is happening because we've had drug incidences and things like that. Was he asleep when you left? No, cuz we said sort of but not really because of his back. He was just kind of like laying there. He was just laying there and he set the alarm, you know, but I mean I said, you know, I I'll bring you coffee on the way home and you know, normal like normal. There was no alarm. There was no alarm sound going off. I put the our little dog downstairs and he stayed upstairs with the big dog. I don't know. How big is the dog? It's an English bulldog. But he doesn't do Will he bite somebody? No, he loves everybody. I mean, he will run off with whoever he sees. The one that's very aggressive and mean is the white one. It's probably the smallest four pound dog. Like she's weighs 200 lb, right? Um Um I'm just trying to Yeah. I I'm going to I'm going to what I'm going to do right now is there's a lot that like I want to tell you. I'm going to be back. What I want to do is call right now. I'm going to go out and get in touch with the officers at the scene. I want to see if the house was burglarized. Okay. All right. Just want to say thank you. You want to wait here? When the detective stepped outside, it wasn't to take a break from Dalia's crocodile tears. They had more than enough evidence to move forward. And it was time to confront her with it. Starting with bringing in the fake hitman. Now, you know that I advised you of your rights, right? Yes, you have. Okay. The game's over with. Okay. There's no more games with you and I. Now, we're going to get down to serious business. I want to know if you know this guy. Come here. Bring this guy in here. Get over here. Get over here. You know who this guy is? No. You've never seen him before? I've never seen him before. Ever. Do you know her? Put your head up and look at her. Put your head up. I've never seen him. What were you doing coming out of her house? Get him out of here. [Applause] You're going to jail today. solicitation. You're under arrest. That's an undercover police officer. We filmed everything that you did. Recorded everything that you did. You're going to jail for solicitation of firstdegree your husband. I didn't do it. Did you hear what I just told you? I heard what you said, but I didn't. Everything. Listen to me. Everything has been recorded. You were photographed in the convertible when you sat his car in the front of CVS. What do you want to do? What do you want to do here? Listen to me. I didn't do anything. You're going to jail. I didn't do anything. Please. I didn't do anything. Tell me you didn't do anything. I didn't do anything. You're going to jail today. As soon as I'm done. Oh my god. They're going to come in here and handcuff you and take you to the Palm Beach County Jail, book you for solicitation of firstdegree murder on your husband. Your husband is well and alive. Thank God. Oh yeah. Thank God. Can I see? No, he doesn't want to see you. I still wanted to see him. He doesn't want to see you. You better quit your plan. Listen to me. Oh my god. I want you to quit your acting and get this over with. I'm not. Yes, you are. Okay. You know what? You need a real good attorney. You need a real good attorney because we're going to show him the film where you say you're 5,000% sure you want him. You think I made that up? You think I made that up? It's exactly what's going to happen. I'm putting talk with you. When I leave this room, no other officer will ever talk to you again. Next time we see you is when you're in trial. Now, you can make it right here or you're going to trial and you're going to do life in prison. You want to cooperate with us, whatever you want to do. It's over and done once I walk out. I'm not coming back in to talk to you. And no one else is either. What do you want to do before I leave here? Cuz the next officer comes here, going to handcuff you and take you to the jail. See my husband, please. No, he doesn't want to see you. He doesn't want to see you. I'm leaving now. Can you have an officer come in here and cuff this person? I don't know what's going on. Please go ahead and arrest report first. Stand up. Oh my god. He's alive. Come here. Please come here. Mike, come here. Come here. Please come here. Why not? I didn't feel anything to hurt you. Mike, come here. Please come here. Okay. Take her back to book, please. Dalia Dipelito was charged with solicitation to commit firstdegree murder and sentenced to 16 years in prison. Thanks to her ex-husband tipping off the police, Michael is still alive today and has since moved on with his new girlfriend. Moving on to the case of when a California mom thought hiring her shooting instructor to kill her ex would solve all her problems, but instead it did the opposite. My friend's getting lightheaded. That's okay. I got paramedics in route. Okay. I have officers in route. I got to help out to you. Okay. On September 1st, 2016, Greg Mulvy Hill was lured out of his home with a mysterious phone call. The voice on the other end claimed to be a private investigator with information about the brutal custody battle he was in with his ex-wife. He told Greg to meet him on a dark, secluded dirt trail alone. Greg and a friend drove out to the meeting spot. Greg stepped out of the car expecting to talk. Instead, he was met with a flash and a gunshot. The shot hit Greg in the side just inches from a major artery. My friend getting lightheaded. That's okay. I got paramedics in route. Okay. Hold officers in route. I got help to you. Okay. Greg miraculously survived. But the real story was just beginning. When detectives arrived, they were confused. Greg wasn't involved in gangs, drugs, or shady business, but he was locked in a bitter divorce and custody battle with his ex-wife, Diana Lovejoy. As they dug deeper, police discovered that the shooter wasn't some random thug. He was a man named Weldon McDavid Jr., a former Marine and firearms instructor who just so happened to be having an affair with Diana. The two had met at the shooting range where Weldon worked. Over time, things turned romantic. But what Weldon didn't know, or maybe didn't care about, was that Diana had more than love on her mind. Diana allegedly convinced him that Greg was abusive, dangerous, and needed to be taken care of. They planned the ambush meticulously. Weldon would use his military training to carry out the shooting. Diana provided the phone used to lure Greg to the trail. She also helped scout the location and plan the timing. The entire setup was designed to look like a random act of violence. But one thing they didn't plan for was Greg surviving. At the heart of it all was money and control. Diana and Greg's divorce was ugly. They were fighting over custody of their son and $1 million in assets, including the house. According to prosecutors, she wanted it all. full custody, the house, and the peace of mind that Greg was out of the picture. Both Diana Lovejoy and Weldon McDavid Jr. were arrested and charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Weldon was found guilty and sentenced to 50 years to life. Diana was found guilty of all charges. And it was in that very moment when the verdict was read that the courtroom witnessed something shocking. One has charged in count one.
