How old are you? That's alcohol. >> I don't drink that. >> But you put it in your backpack. >> My mom first and then my my mom first and then my grandma did. They both put that in. >> They put it in your backpack? >> Yes. >> Why were you putting alcoholic beverages in your 17-year-old daughter's backpack? >> So, you're saying she put everything in the bag? >> I just want I bought my granddaughter one bottle watching. Uh, that's it. >> Some shoplifterss stoop so low that they involve their own kids in their schemes. But what happens when the walls suddenly close in on them? >> What will happen is your kids will be arrested and taken to the juvenile assessment center. >> Why would you do that if we didn't do that? >> Because they committed theft. >> The point that you're telling her that your children are not involved. They are cuz you had them involved. >> Shoplifterss handed your kids. They handed you items that were stolen. >> These were the moments when dumb shoplifterss used their kids to steal for them. Starting with the case of this grandma mother duo who thought it was a good idea to involve their granddaughter in their thieving schemes. Did anybody pay for anything at this store today? >> You didn't pay for anything? >> No. >> So, you just walked out with all this? >> I would like to apologize. >> Oh, you don't have to apologize to me. You didn't steal anything from me. Everyone always wants to apologize after they get caught. >> What What bothers me is it's it's one thing to go do something. You're an adult. You know what you're doing. >> It's another thing to to bring along somebody who's younger. On November 29th, 2024, officers were dispatched to a Target after receiving reports of a bunch of shoplifterss having allegedly shoplifted $500 worth of alcohol. Unfortunately for them, one of them was caught in the act, and it didn't take long for deputies to arrive on the scene. What they didn't expect was that the apprehended shoplifter would deny any sort of accountability. >> Hey, >> what's up, Taylor? >> Hello. What's going on? This is what she took. >> Yeah. So, her parents tell you want to briefly. >> Yeah. So, this young lady had this stuff inside of that green bag and a backpack over here. >> Okay, >> she just decided to walk out. I stopped her, escort her back here. More information revealed. She's with mom and grandma here. >> Mom and grandma did not see me bringing her from points of sale to here. >> Okay, >> so they're completely out of the loop on that. On camera, the mom is putting stuff in her bag/backpack as well. I don't know if she walked out with it or not when we escorted her back here. That's where our focus went. Looks like the mom is potentially walking around looking for her who's obviously detained here. >> Okay. >> So, >> how old are you? That's alcohol. >> I don't drink that. My parents do. I don't drink that. I don't drink that. I don't even drink anything. >> But you put it in your backpack? >> My grandma? My My mom first and then my my mom first and then my grandma did. They both put that in. >> They put it in your backpack. >> Yes. >> I just don't drink this. This is my mom and my dad and like but my grandma doesn't really drink it a lot of alcohol. She doesn't drink a lot. >> There's some suspicion that there's some resale activity happening. >> So where's mom and grandma at now? >> So grandma's outside with presumably more still working at the vehicle. I think she has the car keys to the vehicle. >> You have the car keys. >> You have no way she's going to get into the car without I have the car keys again. >> Where's the car park? >> Probably somewhere. Is that Do you go on that side or this side? >> I know it's this side. I know it's this side. I >> grocery side. >> Yes. I really, you know. >> What kind of car? >> Black Tyota. A black Toyota. >> Have you ever been in trouble before? >> I mean, I've not dealt with cops before, but I I know I could like I know I got in trouble like this before. Yes. Other stores. >> I've never dealt with the cops. >> Where? What other stores? In Palm Coast here. >> Yes. >> Yeah. But they didn't call the cops. >> No. >> What about your mom? Has she been troubled before for taking stuff? >> No. >> Mom walked out. She's from New York. >> What do you live with? >> Um, my grandma. She used like my legal guardian. >> Well, I don't know how to say guardian. >> Yeah, that's great. >> A simple case of shoplifting spiraled and became a case of a full-blown family arrest as the apprehended shoplifter revealed her mom, Elina, and Grandma Tamara were in on the scheme. Speaking of those two, they were still roaming around Target, shoplifting in real time, unaware their youngest had been caught. >> Apparently, it's a whole family affair. >> She was putting stuff in her backpack. Mom's putting stuff in her backpack. Grandma's putting stuff in her backpack. >> So, we're trying to find out where mom is now in the store so I can go get mom and bring her in here. I guess we'll just take everyone to jail. You ever been in trouble with the law before? >> No. >> You seem very confused by that question. Have you or have you not? >> No, I sometimes are just confused with the word law. Okay. Police. Have you ever been arrested? >> No. >> Has mom ever been arrested? >> I don't think so. No. >> I don't think so. What about grandma? >> No. >> No. >> What about in New York? >> Are they going to wait for mom to exit the point of sales before? >> No. Mom already gave the car to grandma. Grandma's waiting by the car. Mom's wandering in the store looking for her. We find her yet? >> No. >> Grandma's still out by the car. >> Yep. I've been >> And where's the car at? Drive's right there. So, it's just on the other side of the drive spots. Oh, so she just left the cart of stuff there. >> No, she's still standing. >> She's right here. >> Oh, she's standing there. Okay. I thought when you said right out front, you meant right out front the door. All right. Well, let me go get grandma. I'm gonna walk out there and get grandma and escort her in here. >> The deputies eventually set out to catch the grandma, but were unpleasantly surprised to find the mother at the entrance who was about to put on an Oscar worthy performance. >> Standing. Come on in here. >> Got him off. Step on in here. Huh? Does that look familiar? >> Looks familiar. >> Yeah, it looks very familiar, doesn't it? >> All right. Why don't you go ahead and have a seat? Actually, go have a seat right over there. >> You got any ID on you? >> No. >> You don't have any ID? >> No. >> Do you have a driver's license? >> I in the car. >> It's in the car. Okay. >> You want me to stay here? >> Yeah. If you want to stay here, I'll go get grandma. >> You don't have anything on you? Wallet? Anything? >> What's up with this? >> Just going to gift it to somebody? There's a lot of wine. 60 bucks on this one. >> It's a good gift. So people just And I heard you're from New York, right? >> New York. >> No resale activity. >> Oh, no way. No way. No. >> It's just unusual for someone to take back one wine. That's why we're asking. >> No, no. This is just a Christmas gifts for friends and family in office. >> Got it. >> Hello, Miss Tamara. >> Yes. >> How are you? >> I'm fine, thank you. >> You need to come with me. >> Uh, >> yep. I have your I have your I have Yolina and your granddaughter. Come on. You can come with me. I'll take this. Come on. >> Okay. >> Come on. Don't go right in these doors up here. Come. Come with me. >> Oh. Oh. This way. >> Come here. I will push the cart. >> You come with me. All right. Excuse me. All right. I'm going to stand right over there. Stand right over there. Officers initially expected the theft to be worth nothing more than a few alcohol bottles. So, they were shocked to find Tamara with a huge cart of items. And as they expected, there wasn't much honesty going on there either. >> All right. So, here's the rest of it. You want to see if there's anything else that's uh >> Yeah. Do you guys have any receipts for anything today? Did anybody pay for anything at this store today? >> You didn't pay for anything? >> No. >> So, you just walked out with all this? >> This is the from the from the store. >> You didn't pay for any of it? >> No. We just because of the wallet was in our car. That's why >> that's not a really good excuse. >> That's what I did there. >> You should have waited inside the store with the stuff though. >> That's It's my fault. I'm so sorry. >> Is this your backpack or does this backpack belong to Target? >> No, this is not a Target backpack. >> I I don't think that's a crazy question to ask. >> I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. No, it's not. >> It's not from Walmart. >> It's Walmart. I'm going to I'm going to open it up and look inside of it. Okay. >> You mind if I look in here? Get this stuff out. Can I get this stuff out? >> Oh, wow. >> There's a lot. >> You're telling me there's no resale? >> No resale, guys. I'm telling you, there is no resale. This is $10 $10 $9. >> Is there anything else in this backpack? There's two uh drinks down there on the bottom, too. There's stuff on the very bottom and You live in New York. Okay. So, you're down visiting for the holidays and getting a lot of wine. Okay. >> This is not >> Oh, I that doesn't matter to me. >> My apologies. Really? I really apologize to you for this. I would like to apologize. >> Oh, you don't have to apologize to me. You didn't steal anything from me. Everyone always wants to apologize after they get caught. >> All right. We'll get a receipt for you guys. >> Okay. >> Thank you. You're welcome. Is your driver's license out of Florida? Is a Florida driver's license? >> I have a Florida. >> Okay. I'm going to run it on my computer real quick. All right. >> You've been arrested before? None. Not in New York. About you? >> No. >> No. >> This is the first time. >> First of all, I forgot my wallet and she told me wallet in the car. That's what I waited for. >> So you you you bring the card outside as opposed to leave it in here. The audacity to apologize after attempting to do away with a card of unpaid items was mind-boggling for the officers. Regardless, they focused on the investigation at hand, choosing to question who appeared to be the mastermind in the scheme. >> All right, before I ask any questions, I got to read you something. Okay, >> you're you're her guardian. That doesn't look very good. >> You see it in a screen. I don't take no no card, no nothing. I just woke up without anything. >> Okay. >> I don't have anything. With these rights in mind, do you want to answer some questions for me? >> It's a yes or no. You want to answer some questions for me? >> Some questions. >> I need a yes or no. If I ask you questions, are you going to answer questions for me? >> What bothers me is it's it's one thing to go do something. You're an adult. You know what you're doing. >> It's another thing to to bring along somebody who's younger. And >> I understand. >> Yeah. So, walk me through what happened. >> This is last time. This is this is the first time and the last time I just >> Okay. Well, there's a whole lot of stuff regardless. We'll we'll get to that. Talk me through what happened. You came to Target. >> Then we uh you know, I said u maybe some visiting mom, you know, getting Black Friday. It's just opportunity to get some gifts for the family business as I said business partners. >> Okay. >> Because we have a party usually, you know, Christmas party. So being said that what's the best you know just for the bottle it's not a hard liquor or any anything just a shade that's >> but when you get things at a store you know you're supposed to pay for them right >> of course of course of course this is unquestionable it's >> so let me ask you this why were you putting alcoholic beverages in your 17-year-old daughter's backpack >> because yeah I'm >> okay >> because I an idiot. One more time. I'm not saying that. >> This is the worst. This is the worst punishment. This is the worst punishment. I I I couldn't even worry. Because of her. >> Because of who? Your daughter. Okay. So, you put a bunch of bottles of wine and champagne in your daughter's backpack. Then you put a bunch of wine and champagne. Is that your bag or is that your mom's bag that you put them in? >> No, this is the old just float the box from her house bags. >> Right. But was it a bag you were carrying or was it a bag your mom was carrying? The one that was in the cart >> on on the cart. That's hers. >> So you put them in her car. In her bag and you put them in your daughter's bag. >> Yes. I'm not lying. >> No, I'm I'm I'm not saying >> I'm honest. I'm truly honest. This is my worst. >> Okay. You understand? I have a hard time believing that you're truly honest because I'm truly honest. >> You just stole almost $400 worth of things from Target. >> Yes. >> That's not real honest, right? No, it's not. >> Okay. So, understand my >> stealing. I understand. >> Understand my my confusion about being honest. Then >> what I'm saying is this is the worst you can do, you know, in front of your child just because you're have no budget. As I said, this is the first time. >> Do you have money to pay for the items? >> Really? No. >> No, you don't have the money. >> Of course, I can afford like three bottles, >> but not this that kind of champagne. >> Oh, yeah. That's really expensive, which is makes it even worse that you're saying you can't afford it, yet you're going to steal it. So, all right, hold on. >> After giving Elena a long overdue lecture, the officer turned to the CCTV camera guys to confirm one important fact before making the final decision. >> We have video. I said, hold on. No, it's too late for that. Hold on. >> I'm going to put the >> Okay, please hold on. >> I'm so sorry. >> Do we have video of Rama putting the things in the bag also or just her? We do. Yeah, grandma partially put it in the divider bag as well. >> All right, sounds that way. Maybe this for a minute. >> I know they're your family, but them asking you to do things that are wrong like that's going to get you in trouble. >> I understand. >> Do you like do you want to go to jail? Cuz that's what happens. And then you're the one who goes to jail. I've been there before. You don't want to go. >> She has a wallet in the car and I stay there and she go back to pay. That's what she told me. >> So why were you putting things in your granddaughter's backpack? What's that? >> I didn't mean this to happen. I mean, I don't want to go to jail. >> I understand. I don't want you to go to jail. So, you put them in your granddaughter's backpack. >> Just only one? Yeah. One bottle. >> Even one bottle. >> Me? One bottle. >> Okay. >> Because >> Why did you put it in the backpack? Why didn't you put it in the cart? >> Because she doesn't have a car. That's That's what's happening. >> Huh? >> She uh she's walked with me. She doesn't have a push car. I think I don't right now I don't remember. >> You don't remember why you were putting right now? No. No. I I put in a in a in a bank. Yes. For my for my granddaughter. I I put because she doesn't have a pushka. I think she's you know anyway she's a pay from the box. Sometimes sometimes I put it in go to register and took everything. And then if you got caught again, you'll get longer time in jail. >> The record of record of what your driver license or >> No, no. You have that record for your criminal record. There's a record when you break the law. It doesn't just go away. So if you get arrested, then the next time we see it, we see that you are arrested for retail theft and it becomes a felony and then you go to jail for longer. >> It's not this time. You took all the stuff that was in the bag. >> Just only one. >> Let me finish. All the stuff that was in the bag in the cart that you had with you out at the car, none of that was >> maybe go to pay it. Come back to >> Why did you take it out of the store? >> This I don't know. It looks like >> that's stealing. The officers were faced with a dilemma while both Elena and her daughter expressed regret over their actions. The grandma doubled down instead. What followed next was an intense back and forth between Tamara and the deputy. >> Why you say it's stealing? >> Because you have Let me finish. Because you have things that belong to the store. You walked out of the store through your car with the stuff. >> No, I was without anything. >> When I found you at the car >> because she p she uh have a car. I walk without anything. And she told me, "Wait, I have to go to see the granddaughter." That's what she told me. >> When you were at Walmart, what did you get caught taking? >> Just food. Nothing. Yeah. >> How long ago was that? >> I think last week. I'm not sure. So, what kind of food were you used to have? >> Strawberries and cucumbers and um the only thing I can do is >> But when I found you out Let Let me When I found you out there. >> Yes. >> You had the grocery cart. >> Yes. >> And you had the bag that had all the wine in it. >> But I didn't know that they have all wine or something there. I didn't know that. I don't know. I don't see what she's was in in because I was on the bottle. So, you're saying she put everything in the bag? >> I just want I put my granddaughter one bottle. What? She uh That's it. Nothing else. And I don't have a car. >> So, how did all the other bottles get in your grand granddaughter's bag? >> So, why do you live down here with with your grandparents and not with your mom and dad? >> It's too difficult. It's just too difficult. I can't really do it. It's too much stress for me. And >> you see in a screen I was in the bathroom. I don't see what that they do. She told just she pushed a car and I followed her and she told me money in a wallet in the car. That's what she told me wait cuz I give bladder uh my key from the car and I don't have anything. I don't see anything what they put in in a uh in the back because I was not there. I was not there. I was in a bathroom. That's what I'm going to right now. >> Okay, hold up. >> Okay. So, >> I got something. >> Huh? >> I have nothing. >> Okay. >> Tamara vehemently denied any participation, even if that meant further incriminating her daughter and granddaughter. Not left with many options, the deputy decided to return to the CCTV room for one last confirmation. Unless you can show me anything other than what she's telling me on video, I am either going to forward charges on grandma or just trespass her or whatever. Because what she's telling me is she put one bottle in her daughter's bag. >> Not the youngest girl. >> I'm sorry, the granddaughter. She put one grandma put one bottle in her granddaughter's bag. She's telling me that mom told grandma, "Take the cart out to the car. I have my wallet out there. I'll find my granddaughter and get the key." Listen, I'm not whatever. You know that I may be misunderstood. Listen, there's a language barrier. You know, mom's going to jail regardless. Mom's going to jail. No question about that. >> Yeah. >> Hi. >> How are you? >> Good. How was your Thanksgiving? >> It was very good. Hey, she's going to 15. Grandma. >> Mom is we're not sure about grandma. >> All right. >> Just one second, man. Um, we're not sure whether she's 15 or not, but she needs to go to the bathroom. So can you just >> you understand that I have to be able to see upside. You hold >> better you than us. You can escort her out. >> I will. >> Okay. >> I didn't take anything. Stand up for me. >> I didn't take anything >> except the backpack that was on your back when you walked out of the store. Forget about that. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. There's video of you walking out with the backpack on your back with a bunch of bottles of wine in it. >> Going to your car. >> Just only one b one. Only one. >> Stealing and stealing. Don't apologize to me. You didn't steal from me. >> Hang on one second. >> You going to hold up? Get her. >> Who's coming? Her dad. Okay. So, I am going to give these to all three of you. These two are going to go with you to the jail. I'll explain what they are. Here's yours. This is a trespass warning for Target. You are no longer ever allowed to come back to Target. If you come back to Target and you're seen, >> you will go to jail again. Okay. >> Okay. >> Thank you so much. >> You understand that? That means in the parking lot. That means in the store. Anywhere. Nowhere at Target. >> All right. Come on. Put her on the passenger side. >> And watch your head getting in. Watch your back. >> In the end, the grandma, Tamara, was charged with misdemeanor petty theft and contributing to the delinquency of a young person. The mother, Elena, also faced similar charges. Moving on to the case where a father turned shoplifting into a family project only to claim his kids took the items by mistake once they were caught. >> And I you know the kids made a mistake. It's okay. >> We're not going to argue about what's happening. >> Ma'am, are you threatening them with arrest? >> Are you threatening the kids with arrest? >> You gave them direction in state Florida at the state in the state of Florida. That is still a crime. It doesn't matter. >> On February 12th, 2024, Orlando police officers were called to the Universal Studios store after reports of a family shoplifting. Security had seen the father directing his two children to grab high value items and hand them off to their mother who was waiting outside. But the plan quickly fell apart. >> Excuse me, sir. Sir, Orlando police. How you doing? No problem. Walk this way. Come on. Right here. No. No. Hey, >> I'm not going that way. I'm not going this way. Walk this way right now. Stay right here. All right. Let's walk this way. >> Not going nowhere. >> Hey, you fine. Right here. What's the problem? They took the items. We're not taking We didn't come off the property items. >> Hold on a second. >> And I You know, the kids made a move. >> Listen, it's okay. >> We're not going to argue and fight about what's happening. >> Then follow us back to >> I'm not We're not moving anywhere from here. >> If we need to do something and hand some paperwork here, what we do it here? >> What if I said I'm going to arrest you if you own property? Why would you do that? Did I take your property? Because I'm following I'm conducting a criminal investigation. That's fine. You can do that. >> Who who sold? [Music] >> You want to tell me the kids took some items for mistake and I apologize. They took the items. >> Okay. >> You know, we're trying to create a new. >> All right. >> You want me to sign something right here? Sign right here. I'm not moving from here. Then what will happen is your kids will be arrested and taken to the juvenile assessment center. >> Why would you do that if we didn't do that? >> Because they committed theft. >> No, they didn't commit any theft. We didn't >> You left the store. >> Well, we didn't actually leave though. We was in Florida. I know. I'm not I'm not going to argue. Where you from? >> Where you from? >> Uh New York. >> Okay. >> We're vacationing. >> Okay. This is the state of Florida. You pass all points of sale without any attempt to pay for the items. >> Well, we didn't we didn't know that. Wait that you go then if you go to the office and talk to us I'm not we can we can do anything over here post office we can come over here to post office >> the father insisted his kids hadn't stolen anything since they never left the store's property but that excuse didn't hold up in court before long store security made a decision that changed everything >> what what did he do >> we had acknowledgement from he was watching them do it all at the store >> okay >> and you guys want to press charges >> yeah Okay, sir. >> I'm not resisting. >> All right. >> Hey, just don't don't grab anything4. >> That's fine. It's fine. >> I got it. >> Come take my phone. Um, >> let's come to We'll take them to the >> Is there someone else? >> Just us, right? >> Was there someone else? >> No, just him. The two kids are juveniles, but he was watching them. >> I'll take I'll take it. >> No, I can't. >> I was trying to plead to him because if he came back to the office, >> probably everything would have been fine. Like he wanted to argue. I can't keep on going back and forth. >> Understand? >> What should have been a simple family night at Universal Orlando Resort quickly turned into a string of reckless choices by the suspect. Once he was brought into the security office, it became clear this wasn't a one-time mistake, but a pattern of making the worst possible decisions. >> No, you can leave the phone. You can leave my phone. No, >> no, no. We we we do it. All right. >> Take a seat, buddy. I have a seat. I'm sorry. I was asking question. Take a seat. You can talk louder. Just take a seat. Please do not get up. >> Okay. Okay. Listen. Yeah. Listen. We We're trying to be nice to you, but you have to listen to us. Okay. So, just scoot over here. But I'm telling you the story. So just just do as they're telling you, please. Okay. All right. Thank you, man. >> I got you. >> No. And um I'll take the responsibility for the actions. [Music] >> You said you're not going to provide them to two separate soft. >> I'll take they're minors. >> Yeah. So how old? >> I don't want to tell you that. >> But I still need to know that. No problem. You need to tell us that. So you do because at this point now that's going to get reported to yes they didn't do nothing. >> Doesn't matter. You are going to provide their name >> their names and date of birth. Yes you are. >> You're compelled by law to do that officer right now. You are >> minus and I'm responsible. You know this is that's an additional charge for obstructing. >> So it's on body camera that you're not getting that information. But it's not they're not they're not at fault. It was because involved in what's going on. >> I understand that. But it was because of me and >> so you're fair to identify who? >> While some officers dealt with the suspect who seemed to think that refusing to give his name would somehow get him off the hook. Another officer turned to speak with the mother. >> Please, I'm asking you to cooperate. We need both your kids' names and their date of births. I need your ID, too. Okay? Please cooperate. You saw what happens if you don't cooperate. Okay. And that's why I'm asking you. Please cooperate with us. >> Can I speak to my husband for a moment, please? >> He's busy talking to those officers, getting information. Do you have your ID with you? >> I need to let you know what it is that you want me to do. It's not like I'm not trying to This is all news for me. This really is. >> I'm going to crazy. >> All right. Let me see your ID. We're going to need to see everything in that bag, too. >> This right here. >> Yep. And I need to see >> these these bags are mine and this is mine. Everything else everything else is. >> All right. Let me see your ID, please. >> Why? Why? Just >> ask. You are being investigated for a theft for shoplifting. >> I was in the store. >> Okay. The shoplifterss handed your kids. They handed you items that were stolen. When security tried to stop you, you fled. So right now I don't know that that's an I stood right there. >> I understand you're from New York. I'm telling you New York laws are different from Florida laws. You are being investigated for theft, for shoplifting. I need to see your ID. If you don't, that is called resisting my investigation and you will be arrested for it. Okay? >> And I'm walking out of here with my kids. Correct. >> I'm asking. >> If you cooperate, I'll tell you right now, you're walking out of here with your kids. But >> I need cooperation. >> When you don't cooperate, you just arrest, have the jails identify everyone. Okay. Thank you. >> The mother's cooperation brought a slight breakthrough in an otherwise stalled situation. Coming up, the officers turned back to the father whose attitude only grew worse as time went on. >> I'm not sure. I'm not sure. So, we seen you in the photo. You should be honest with me. I mean, how much do you want to tell? I'm not sure. >> But I'm not sure. We didn't do nothing. >> I apologize for for whatever you saw, but we didn't do nothing. We didn't, you know, they made a mistake. They make a mistake. I'm going to take the situation and and and teach you. >> I don't know. >> You don't know. >> So, you weren't in the store watching until like you want me to keep on repeating myself. You're going to ask the same questions, man. I'm going to >> I see you in the store. >> Why are you on video? >> Okay. >> So, I haven't paid for it. Yes or no? >> You know, you you have kids, >> sir. This is a learning experience, brother. Listen, this is a learning experience. They're going to take this there's nothing about reasonable I'm trying to be reasonable as reasonable as a father could be brother >> brother this is the way I speak I'm a man I'm a father please you know I'm a man as well I'm talking to you face to man okay man the situation listen to me just relax >> listen to me just relax okay sit back listen to our instruction okay stop being argumentative people >> so just ask the questions you need for me I'm going to answer them as two [ __ ] possible But honestly, you're not someone that we can just reason with and speak to. But as the manager began explaining the scene, he revealed details that didn't sit right with the officers at all. >> Her kids, a lot of the times it's just they would shop, but um and then once they bring it up to the register, she would not scan all the items for her kids or she would void out the entire transaction and allow her kids or herself to walk out with all of the product not paid for. It was 31 instances of that between 6123 through 832. 31 times she did that for totaling 1,4867 of stolen merchants. There's obviously there's items that she did pay for. That's not included in that total. That's just what was not paid for. what he did. There were four instances where he's on a register and she herself would bring up her merchandise and he would not bring up all of her items. Sometimes he doesn't ring up anything. He would just bring up one item and board it out. Everything else he would allow her to put back onto the cart and let her walk out with >> she walks out of it. >> Correct. It's four times of that. And all those items that we were able to identify that was not paid for was 27432. All of that happened last month on 74 through 722 was four times with him that he had helped her. >> Okay. >> And she left. >> You you and her you said, right? >> Can we see the video? >> Sure. >> When officers arrived, the manager reported that she had stolen over 40 times in just a few weeks and even brought her kids to teach them how to steal. ask to have the product here. Make sure that they're in the car and then I'll >> Okay. Um, you want to see either one or both? >> Yes. >> So, I have it per day. That's on June 1st through August 3rd. Um, so let's go to we'll go to the first one. So I'm going to pull up the other camera because this one she has the merchandise off to the side. This is the overhead camera. These are the items. >> Who came up with the items? >> She wrote the items on. >> Okay. >> Um, but it was sitting there for a while. I only saved like a small clip because the long the longer the radio. >> The manager explained that not only did the suspected cashier exploit transactions herself, but she also recruited another employee to join the operation. After gathering enough evidence, officers questioned the accomplice, who revealed more shocking details. >> Hey, how you doing? >> How you doing? I'm going have a seat. Okay. >> Yeah. How you doing? What? What's going on, Amari? >> Just so you know, you're not a nurse. I just want to know what's going on. Tell me what happened. >> I made a mistake. >> Relax. >> It's I made a mistake. >> What happened? >> It's not funny. It's just, you know, being young and having an opportunity and just being dumb. And now don't put stuff in jeopardy. Put myself in a position that I don't like to be in. This is embarrassing. But I will go. I ain't going to cry though. I ain't going to cry. We good. You guys are pretty calm, chill, so I'm not really too much nervous no more after talking. But at the end of the day, just a mistake and and and I'm assuming a proper proceeding is going to happen. So that's I there's not really much to it. The man told me to write that and then just I've been sitting back here since then. So >> Oh, I don't know what he writes. I just want to know what's the mistake. Tell me about it. Uh they said last month they got me for not scanning like what couple items but then they wanted me to pinpoint how much of this. I'm like I don't know. Like it wasn't like oh for the whole year I've been here or for 6 months or for 5 months as far as like just a month ago. >> So it's not a common thing. It's not a normal thing. He told me everybody he talked to about me, they all said the same thing like he's not that type of kid. This that and the third and u that's basically where I was at with that situation. um me and him, we just talked about it and told me to write that and he'll I guess he'll be back and talk to me some more or something like that and I just been waiting since then. That's pretty much the situation at hand. So, I'm just sitting waiting to see what what's going to happen. >> What about the items that you didn't scan? What happened to them? >> Uh yeah, up in the air out the store or either put back into go bags. There's a lot of different things we do with items. >> You know what it is? Okay, I'm going to send all everything I have to the state attorney and they're the one who's going to make the decision on on making um either making an arrest or not making an arrest. Okay, but this is serious as you know. I have all the videos and the manager is going to send them to me tonight and they can we can move forward with them. After getting a confession from the accomplice, the officers went to confront the mastermind behind it all, who had shockingly conducted over 40 incidents of theft in only a few weeks. >> I was going to make it. >> What's your name? >> My name is an ID on you, ma'am. No, ma'am. >> What's your What's your first 1991? We got um what's the deal with for for 191? >> 91. I remember. Hold on. But you look different, right? >> Yeah. >> You look different. What? >> I'm just fat as hell. >> No. >> No. Smile. You said 101 191. >> Yeah. >> No, that's me. That's my driver license picture. >> Mhm. You look different, though. >> I'm just fat. >> Stop. >> That's it. >> All right. Anything with him? >> Um, he said he said if you wanted to go down the list again, he would try. That's where we at. Just chatting. Let me Can you have him step outside real quick? Can you hear the real quick? Hold on. >> Can I use the bathroom first? >> Use the bathroom. I promise I'm not going to be nasty with you. Okay. >> All right. >> So, like I >> But right now, we're here for you. I see the I saw the videos. I saw you walk out with with the cards. We have different occasions, different instance. So, I just want to hear from you about >> some of the stuff I paid for, >> right? Well, if we got I got I got everything. I got the receipts. >> I have several transactions. >> Okay. >> Several transactions. Over $1,000. >> Okay. >> Worth of transactions. So, there are some that was paid for and >> he already went through that, >> right? remove the one that was paid and the the one that was that was either not scanned or voided have been taken out and the receipt everything is printed. >> Okay. >> I know people go through hard time. >> So, can I just pay them back? >> Unfortunately, they don't. >> No, you don't. >> Okay. So, I'm going to type up the paperwork. I'm going to take you with me >> to the bathroom. >> You I'm going to take you to the bathroom. But at my station, though. >> At my station. It's not too far. Okay. It's not okay. >> Well, can I get haircut at? >> No, unfortunately. >> Okay. >> When the woman learned that the police had caught on to her schemes, she immediately put on a nice act, trying to gain the officer's sympathy. But then during the investigation, the officer hit her with the evidence that made this seemingly simple crime into something way darker. >> The question is, there was a bunch of kids. They look like kids to me, >> right? >> That were picking up your groceries for you. >> Picking them out. do helping. >> So, um, and I noticed in the videos that you said you had eight kids. >> Yes, I have eight. >> How old are they? >> My oldest is 16 and my youngest is 10 months. >> 10 months. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, I assume these are your children because you look like you're familiar with them. They look like they're comfortable and familiar with you, >> right? And I have to just confirm that they're children and not involved in any crime because >> Okay. >> This is I'm not looking at your kids. I'm just looking to identify them. >> Sure. >> Okay. So, the first picture I'm just That's you, correct? You can Yeah. Hello. >> Yes, ma'am. >> And this I think is one of your children. >> Uhhuh. >> What's What's her name? >> Her name is >> Uhhuh. >> This your oldest? >> Yeah. No. >> No. >> Who is that? >> That's a regular customer. >> Okay. >> I don't know. >> Okay. So, on July 30th, that customer came in and I forget whether you deleted things off of her receipt or what. So, that's not a C. That's >> No, that's not much. >> She looks young though. You don't know her? >> I know her, but she's not one of my children. >> Do you know her name? >> I think her name is >> these these two. >> I don't know who this is. The little boy. >> I don't know who that is. >> Okay. So, >> but that's my child. >> That Yeah, he was with your child. Who is that? >> I don't know who that is. That's not >> my child. >> See, that's why I'm asking. I don't know who that is. >> That's fine. But your other child, what's her name? >> Her name is >> I printed this out, but this is just to show you. See, we're watching you scan the Hershey's bar. You scan it one once, but you're holding two. So, that's basically what we were looking at. It's not the crime of the century. It's not a super big deal, but Okay. So, there's a kid in the cart and then there's this kid >> that and that's my son's right. >> Okay. And this lady got on the ground to play with your kid. Do you know who she is? >> I'm just curious. >> That is a That's a child. >> She's a child. >> Yeah, she's she's a big child. Yes, she's she's big as hell. That's a child. >> But not your not yours or not related. >> She's pregnant. >> That's their cousin. >> That's their cousin. >> Yeah. >> What's her name? >> I think her name is >> I don't know her last name. >> But she wasn't with your kids. She just happened to be there. >> She was Yeah, she was playing with them. Now, >> who taught you how to do it? >> Ori the girl Oriana. Oriana taught me how to do it. So I would just, you know, explain to him like, um, Molen does it, but it's not as often as everybody else. >> And just like I said, time got hard, but that wasn't my intention because I did love my job. Like, I did, but that was never my intention. >> On her days off, the suspect had been caught bringing her children to the store, teaching them how to skip, scan items, and steal. She was eventually charged with grand theft. That mom definitely failed at parenting and so did these ladies who brought their kids along for a Walmart shoplifting spree. >> I'm more concerned for the kids. >> Yeah, that's why I'm somebody would have walked up to us up in that stove and asked us what we were doing or something. I would have took that stuff out, put that right up there. >> Right hand up to God. >> Part of their job description doesn't say, "Hey, if you see somebody putting their stuff in the bag, go over there and tell them to take it out." Right. >> Okay. Get this, baby. >> On August 20th, 2023, officers were dispatched to a Walmart after receiving reports of two women actively shoplifting in the store with their children accompanying them. But when officers arrived on the scene, instead of witnessing regret and shame, they were met with loudmouthed Karens who saw no error in their ways. >> Hello. Hi, ladies. How we doing? >> How you doing? >> Oh, wait, wait a second. >> No, we >> cuz we're on video. >> I know. I know. I know. >> So, I'm just trying to get this. >> Okay. >> Don't do that. school. >> Our our barcodes don't match. Our barcodes do not match. >> Bro, I just got those from CVS. That's mask, too. I don't even got to laugh about that. Y'all get this back, though. I'm just saying those masks. Don't do that. I just bought that. >> All right. This is not a mask. >> And my And my spoon. >> This This is our merch. >> No, that is not, y'all. Y'all tell the same thing at CVS. >> We don't our barcode. >> If that's the case, I would have been taking the tags off the same way I was checking those. I would have opened that. >> Look, ma'am, I barely [Music] Okay, keep a little phone cuz that's just >> All right, guys. >> Same way these is my baby. >> How you doing? >> No, they're not. I'm fine. >> Yes, they Yes, they >> No, they not. No, they not. >> Yes, they ma'am. Can we just kind of just have a seat? Okay. It's not the end of the world. All right. We'll figure this out. >> I just bought that. >> You get what I'm saying? >> I did. >> All right. What's your name? >> What's your name? >> My name's Officer Gracia. Nice to meet you. >> Okay. What's your name, man? >> Tia. >> Tia. Nice to meet you. What's your name? >> Cece. >> Cece. Nice to meet you. Okay. Now that we're on, >> now that we know who we are here, okay, we're going to try to figure out what happened. All right. Do you all have any ID? >> No, I ain't got my ID on your no IDs. >> I don't even have ID. >> Okay. How old are we? Yeah, >> I'm 22. >> 22. >> All right, no big deal. We'll figure it out. Not the end of the world. We got to wait for my partner, though, cuz they're doing the paper on us. >> The paper for what? >> Paperwork. Y'all going to take us to jail? >> I don't know. >> Oh, yeah. >> Probably not. >> Y'all got all the stuff. >> Yeah, we got to figure out what's going on, right? >> Come on. You got to be nicer. You know, >> there's no need for that. >> You guys don't have IDs on you? >> We're all adults here. >> No, I don't have ID. >> You have somebody you can turn the kids over to? >> No. >> Okay, we'll arrange for transportation for them. >> Huh? >> You can arrange for transportation. >> So, y'all going to take us to jail? Cuz I pay for it now. >> Well, we're trying to figure it out. >> Cuz I do pay for my stuff. So, one of the first steps >> I don't have nobody to watch my son. >> Hold on. Give me one second. Okay. One of the first steps that we do is we try to identify who you guys are cuz you have no ID, right? All right, we get that done. Then we move to the next step. All right, we're not trying to make this difficult. All right, we're just trying to get the process going cuz everyone wants to go home. I'm sure I'm sure the kids are going to get antsy, right? We're not trying to make it difficult. It's not the end of the world. >> Right from the get-go, both women identified as Tia and Cece made it apparent they were in no mood to cooperate. If anything, it was one of the telltale signs that both ladies knew they were extremely guilty, and the following conversation only proved that. Can I see your uh information? >> No, that's my son's medical. >> All right. What's your What's your last name? What's up, buddy? How old? >> Let me guess. >> Yeah. >> 8 months. >> Yep. Since I only had three things, can I just pay for that? I gave it back to him and I didn't even like I didn't struggle or anything. Like, I have money. I can pay for it. If it was up to me, I can just take the items. I will pay for it for real. >> If it was up to me, I would say yes, please. But it's not up to me. It's a process. Um they got to do what they got to do. what we got to do. >> It ain't the end of the world. I promise you that. >> Yeah, I know. >> I'm more concerned for the kids. >> Yeah, that's Yeah. >> All right. >> Well, in jail, so >> y'all might realize nobody out here. >> Yeah. >> What's up, buddy? How are you? Let me guess. Four. >> Four. Going to be four. >> He's going to be four. See, I'm good at that. before. >> Have you guys ever been >> arrested for retail theft? >> No. >> No. >> No. Never. Mine's basically for >> stuff like that. >> Okay. >> I can't even go get your B. >> Ma'am, can I pay for the ma'am? Can I >> give me a second? >> Okay. Come here. >> No, you don't want a hug. >> You sure? >> Yeah. You probably >> You're hungry. >> Yeah. Talk to me. Let me know what you need. Look. Look. Check this out. What? You see that? That's cool, right? >> It's okay, buddy. So, Tia, when was the last time you were arrested? And that's when I was arrested just [ __ ] maybe like a few months ago >> for >> they just arrested me trying to say I didn't pay to bond I they claim I had a warrant. I just told them I just b out from the stations from the suburbs. Told them I just bonded out. They don't have no record. They took me to the station. >> What department? >> Um >> what was arrested for? The warrant. >> Yeah. >> What about the arrest before that? What was the warrant for? >> The warrant for I had missed the court date. >> What was the crime? Uh, I was in the car. They pulled me out the car saying that I was under the influence. >> So, do you right like then I'm like, >> "What's your history going to say?" Uh, never arrested. >> No, I've been arrested a few years ago, but >> Well, that's that's a part of your history. What's it going to say? >> Uh, I think it was something against a police officer or something like that. >> Okay. >> I really don't even know because I was out the next day. I really don't know. >> You guys got anybody else in the store? On top of being thieves, the two ladies also showcased how unfit they were to be parents. They consciously involved their children in their twisted schemes with no concern for their well-being. >> Also, I can pay for mine. I ask for it. >> So, when they when they call the police, that means that they want some sort of action taken other than you guys pay for it. [Applause] >> Oh, hold on. Hold on. >> I'm going to get my son. There's That's okay. We We'll handle that. Okay. >> How do you want to handle that? >> Let me You're not the first person we arrest with young kids. >> Okay, but where is my child gonna go? >> These are things as a mother. >> I'm trying to listen to I said I'll pay for it. >> Too late. >> So, pass that point. You already >> So, is y'all going to arrest somebody? >> We're waiting for um your history. We haven't gotten yours back yet. And we're waiting for the paperwork from Walmart. >> Waiting for who history? Both parts. Yeah, cuz you're both involved. >> My time. This stuff is less than $100. >> Yeah. If he's coming from the station, >> you getting here? >> Yeah. >> I don't have nobody to get my son. Like, come on now. It's not even that serious. >> It's a theft crime, >> bro. I will pay for it. It's not that serious. >> I'm all the way out here, bro. My son's not going to have nowhere to go. >> Like, please don't do this. >> That's just wrong. Vice for real. Y'all could have gave somebody a chance. I ain't never been arrested for no stealing. >> Well, I'm still waiting for your criminal history. >> Like, bro, you they already called them to come get them. >> What was the dollar? >> Nobody's going to come pick them up. >> 64. >> Is that the one with the hole in the kit or the other one? The one against the wall or >> This one was the $84. Hers is 64. >> 84 and 64. >> This one is Huh? >> Okay. So, that's >> 315. your subject. >> Man, did you take those spoons off? >> Did y'all didn't see me grab no spoon? I got some real stuff. My phone. >> Y'all still have no problem. Y'all don't have IDs. We need to know who you are. >> Ain't that what they got information? >> I don't know. My son going to be up in DCF somewhere. Like, come on now. For real. Nobody's going to come get him out here. I live in old park. Right now, right here. I gave them my information. I told them my history and everything. The fact that y'all was stuffing it and was about to leave. >> I said nobody say if somebody would have walked up and said something like the same way I said take it out. What we do? Take it out. >> I guess me and my stuff right then and there. I didn't have no problem. I'm telling you right now, I don't have no problem. >> I'm not going to have nobody forgive my son. >> I understand that. And the way y'all was stuffing, [ __ ] I didn't care why y'all was loading. Y'all didn't care. I'm And I'm And I'm just I'm just being honest. Y'all was just stuffing it like this. It's cool. Ain't nobody going to do nothing. None of that. The the way y'all was doing it. So, I'm doing my job. >> Now, the consequences solely depend on y'all actions first. >> The lack of accountability the women were showing was positively enraging. And it only got worse when Cece tried giving a bizarre justification for her actions. If somebody would have walked up to us up in that stove and asked us what we were doing or something, I would have took that stuff out and put that right up in the house. >> Right hand up to God. >> Cuz the way you was stuffing it over here, you holding it back. >> Yeah. But if somebody would have walked up to me and said something, I would have took that stuff out my bag. >> I would never even walked to the door. >> Let me tell you something, okay? I That all makes sense, right? But their job is not to go walk around and tell people who are doing >> I'm not saying that >> committing shoplifting, hey, why don't you go ahead and take that out of your bag and put it away. Their job is to protect the merchandise from Walmart and as it walks out the door, that's a crime. Their job >> didn't make it out the door. >> Part of their job description doesn't say, "Hey, if you see somebody putting their stuff in the bag, >> go over there and tell them to take it out." >> The first set of devil doors, when you cross that door, that mean you cross the point of sale. That mean you you walk past every register. You don't have to be outside the building for us to be tight. >> Long as you go out there, there's a squad car sitting there. >> I got I got the unmarked give us a chance. >> Y'all to give us a chance to just pay for it. That's all I'm saying. We don't even have to do all of this. Like for real. >> I listen I sometimes >> we don't even have to do work out. Sometimes we have to do our job. All right? So, I want you to understand this. >> We don't even have to do this. Like, real laugh, I don't have nobody to get him. I don't I don't live over here. I live miles and miles away. >> Can I tell you something? You got somebody right here next to you or vice versa. It all depends on the situation, right? Who can take custody of your child? >> Nobody. >> Can I tell you this? If she says, "I'll take your child from you while you go get processed." What are you going to say? >> I'm saying y'all going to take both of us. So, what difference does that make? >> What? Eventually, you're going to get out, right? We're going to try to process somebody quicker than the other, right? Trust me, we don't want to babysit cuz it's not in our job description to babysit children, right? We don't have the facilities. All right? >> One thing we do have to do is keep your children safe. That's why I ordered up some car seats. I'm not just going to put your kids in the back of my car with no car seat. >> That'd be the wrong thing to do, right? >> Well, that's not up to me. It's up to them. It's their merchandise. It ain't my merchandise. >> I'm not the victim here. >> It's not even like we stole nothing. You >> I get you. But you know, a theft is a theft is a theft. >> We could have been stealing medicine or stuff that was like $50 a piece and stuff like that. We were stealing baby stuff like >> But a theft is a theft is a theft. You get what I'm saying? >> Then I would have paid for it to make a nobody say nothing. It's like y'all was waiting for somebody try to walk out the door to try to arrest somebody knowing we sitting here with these kids. Like that's bogus. >> Can I tell you something? Nobody set you up for that. All right. You came in here. >> Somebody could have just told me to take it out. >> I took it out right there. Like I'm not even understanding. >> If I had somebody on my shoulder telling me every time I was going to >> But y'all, I thought y'all was just going to be kind of cool and just, "Okay, whatever. Get the stuff back and let it go." I would have left. >> And after that exhausting back and forth, one of the officers again returned to the topic of them not having their IDs. But Cece's response only baffled him. >> If you both would have had IDs, you'd have been gone. Well, I got my ID. >> Look me up. >> I said that's what I'm She said she making a statement. So, I'm let you know. >> I as you say that and y'all would have got what y'all wanted. >> You told me you didn't have no idea. >> Because I'm not trying to get arrested. So, yeah, I'm going to say that. >> We weren't you arrested. We just going to get our merchandise and let you go. >> Well, I wish I would have said that. >> Listen, it is what it is at this point. >> Right. We can't we can't unravel all the paperwork doing it. Maybe tell us one thing and it's the other one. You understand? >> My background. Why would y'all even do the thing? Y'all write me a ticket for that? >> No. Well, I have my whole car in the parking lot. Like, what is our back to your car? >> Yeah. Once everything's done, we'll make sure nobody's going to tow your car. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Baby, my baby won't even stop car. >> So, you you're going to take charge of the kiddos >> and then you have a way to transport them? >> Yes. Pick me up. We will give it to you. >> So, she's got >> It was eventually decided that CeCe would go down to the jail. Needless to say, she wasn't happy with the turn of events. >> Put your keys in your purse. >> My baby's in the car. >> That's fine. We're going to get it. Okay. So, we can go get it now in your head. >> Okay. Listen, I'm being very nice. I'm going to tell you what >> you're not being nice. No, you're not. >> You're not. I'm going to go the [ __ ] up. What the You mean somebody's being nice. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, what the I could have done this. >> Okay. Y'all could have did this in the beginning. That's okay. >> Put the keys in the in the >> Get my baby out the car. Relax, >> bro. Relax. >> Relax. We're going to figure it out. We got to see if you over [ __ ] face, man. >> You did it to yourself. >> Mother be up in there for what? >> Calm down. >> All right. Well, >> stop. Stop moving. You're going to >> stop moving your hands. >> Stop pulling away. >> It is what it is. >> Irritating. Now we're going to go to the back. >> 272. You can mark one in custody for 13. >> Okay. And my baby is in my car. >> Okay. We're not worried about that right now. Okay. >> How? How? My baby don't have no milk or nothing. >> Okay. We'll figure it out. >> How are you going to figure it out if my baby? I'm going to talk to your partner. >> How the is she going to get it out my car? If you have my key permission to be up in my car said I gave her permission to go in my mother car. >> We won't go in your car. >> Simple as that. >> Irritated. Is this your car right now? >> Touch me. >> All right. You want to go? >> Y'all have some on my ass got to do. Y'all going to give her a ticket for >> if you hadn't lied about who you were. >> We would have given her. I don't even give a waste. I'm not going to waste my day. This all it's going to do. >> That's cool. >> Just take you back to my car. >> Yeah. Once it's all said and done, we'll bring you back to your car. >> Well, you're the one. There ain't nothing to talk about. >> There's a process. Okay. >> Take me to jail. >> Relax. >> Ain't no relax. >> You have anything. >> If anything, you're doing too much. >> I ain't doing the most yet. We're just trying to get you in there. >> We're just trying to get you. That's it. That's it. >> No, y'all could have been doing this. >> That would have been the end of >> here. Spread your legs for me. >> Oh, baby. We don't got a I still got it. >> Thank you. >> Nice. Right. >> Well, I had the car seat ready. >> Yeah, you did. You did a great job. Don't I don't need that. >> I don't want that. >> I have to. >> I don't want that [ __ ] all over my mother. >> I didn't I didn't check her first. >> In the end, CeCe was charged with resisting a peace officer and retail theft. Imagine that you're 5 years old and mommy tells you that you can get all the toys from Walmart that you want. Well, that's what went down in this case. >> Oh my god. I didn't steal anything. Then look for my receipt. I dropped it. I've already been through this aisle. I see. That incident had caused a probation violation, which ultimately led to her serving a year in county jail. Do you think she is done shoplifting? Moving on to the case of the parents who were caught shoplifting with their children and seemed genuinely surprised that their actions had consequences. >> All was kind of happened was >> on September 22nd, 2024, Palm Beach County deputies responded to a shoplifting incident at Target that turned out to be a full family operation. A husband, wife, and their three children stole over $1,000 in clothes and makeup, hiding items in a baby stroller, and using their youngest child as cover. >> How are you doing? All right. How about you? I'm good. So, I have that >> um I have them on concealment um of cosmetics. All this and then they applied false labels to the clothes in here. So, here's the cosmetics and here is the actual price for clothes. And I'll get a ticket switch receipt for you in a sec. Do you guys have your receipt? >> It was in the bag, I believe. [Music] >> So, it was all of this. >> Yeah. All the cops were concealed into their bags and then this they paid for it. So, I'll check with the difference. And you uh bookmark in it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. So, I'll print out a receipt for what they actually paid for versus uh the full amount of that's going to be the receipt of what they actually paid for. >> Is there some of the stuff they paid for on these receipts or these are these are all >> So, the longer one, this is all stuff they concealed into their personal bag. So, they do even attempt to pay for that. And the smaller one, >> they put a false label on it >> on five items for it to come up shorter. Never. >> So, I still got to do the investigation, figure out exactly what's happening. >> All was going to happen was going to take pictures of us and bam. >> Well, that's before. >> That's what I do. Um, >> for one year. >> So, once law enforcement gets involved, whatever they do after is up to them. The mom seemed genuinely shocked that she and her partner might be going to jail as they had hoped to get away with just a trespassing warning. >> He said that um all that we weren't going to go to jail. He was just going to ban us for a year from here. >> He was explaining his >> Yeah, I didn't say the word. I just said today is September 22nd, 2024. If you guys are seen on target property, that means the entire parking lot excluding the sidewalks, uh you will be arrested >> for one year. And then on September 22nd, 2025, you guys are free to uh come back to this Target and shop. Um and then you guys are free to shop at any Target anywhere else. But moving forward, um, if you guys do commit another like offensive dishonest activity, whether it's even like skip scanning like $15, the same thing will happen and you'll get a second charge added. So, >> it'll go outwards cuz there'll be you'll be a repeat after that. So, kind of moving forward, um, let's please not do this again. She had previously mentioned that she needed to change her baby diipers. So, Uh, however you guys want to do it. I don't want to obviously impede the baby just because of all this going on. >> Yeah, it's okay. You're good. >> So, we are going to >> I'm not the investigating deputy. He's the other guy that just stepped out. So, I have no I have no idea what >> neither one of us can answer basically what we're trying to say. Once we once I make this off, you guys come back here and then law enforcement gets involved. Whatever happens after, I don't control. >> Cuz I thought you said that law enforcement wasn't going to get involved. >> Yeah. Like we ran out. You said that would happen, but we just >> came back. >> After issuing the trespass notice, the case was handed over to the officers who would determine the next steps based on the total value of the stolen goods. What? >> He's the primary one here. So, I'm not sure depend on how much I don't know how much what the value of stuff you guys took. >> That's one of the determinant factors. Also, you have kids here. So, that's another determinant factor there. >> So, it depends on the value of what you guys took, right? has a certain threshold, we have to make an arrest also because you have your kids here and that's another thing that we have to take into consideration as well. >> All right. How'd you guys get here? >> Our car you drove. >> Okay. So, this is what's going to happen. All right. >> You guys committed a crime, so we have to do an arrest. All right. But based on the children being here, what you have to go to jail, you're going to I'm going to file a warrant. All right? And you're going to have to follow up with the court case. >> I have to go to jail. >> You guys told a felony amount and scheme to defraud is a felony. There's >> two felonies there. We don't have a choice. >> I'm pay I can pay for it. I >> You should have paid for it before we got called here. >> I don't even know. >> All right. >> Echoass. >> It's a felony. Okay. $760. That's a felony. And then changing the taxes scheme to defraud, which is also a felony. That's not just a trespass. >> So, I'm getting arrested. >> Yes. >> I'm going to jail. >> Yes. >> All right. Do you want to take off? Do you want to take off? You're watching stuff. >> I'm I'm doing you guys a huge favor by >> letting you go so we don't have to do >> going on. >> Yes. So we don't have to deal with all the kids >> and figuring out how they're going to real >> just step over here for me. You don't have anything crazy in your pockets, right? >> No. My wallet. >> All right. I'm just going to take a bottle, right? Just don't reach for anything. >> You want the wallet to go with her? >> Yeah. >> What's this? >> My keys. Nice. >> You want the keys to go with her? >> Yes. Okay. >> So, how do I get out of jail? >> You'll see a judge in the morning. >> You'll see a judge in the morning. And >> you have here >> depending on your phone. >> As the man was being prepared for handcuffs, you could see the mom's world begin to unravel. A moment that would hopefully serve as a lesson learned for the future. >> All right. Do you want to take this wristband off or the bracelet for the ring? Um, you're being cooperative, so I'm not going to slam what you want. Want to put your hands together like you're pranking? That'll make it a little bit easier. All right. >> I can do the proper >> All right. Again, I always appreciate you coming down so fast. Um, usually once he goes to intake when it's through the booking right there at the desk, he'll be able to tell him what it is when he do his finger. >> A few hours. >> It takes probably about as well. >> What I have medicine prescribed for. >> Okay. They'll have it up there. >> Yeah. Once you tell see a nurse in the drill. So once you have the um you didn't do nothing. I'll see you tomorrow. Okay. >> I should be able to get out tomorrow. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. Oh, >> you're free to go. >> Thanks again. I'll probably I'll be back with you. One second. All right. I'll be right here. >> The man was charged with felony grand theft and scheme to defraud. He was sentenced to one year of probation.
