We had some calls from family members and they just wanted us to come out and check and make sure you're okay on your you and your wife. I'm okay. Yes. Okay. My wife passed away. And the reason I said over here because I anybody would hear Okay. If you put a bag over her face Yeah. and tied it around her neck, right? It's just a scenario. Right. She wasn't breathing any possibly, but I didn't try to help. Most criminals run the moment they spot a uniform. But what happens when the cops are undercover and there's no clear indicators of them being law enforcement? Police. Give me a hand. Give me a hand. Hands up. Hands up. Don't move. Don't move. Told you we get you. These were the moments when undercover cops caught criminals red-handed. We begin with the case where an undercover cop managed to catch the suspect when he got a little too eager to talk about his missing wife. Oh, you put her in the dumpster. That's a scenario. I know, but Okay. Oh, then she's buried 10 feet deep in garbage now. We won't find her. Just a scenario. I know. I know. I know. So, just a snare. This is 74year-old Philip Snider. completely unaware that the woman he had just spoken with was an undercover officer who was quietly investigating the sudden disappearance of his wife of over five decades. Robera Lee Heisler, also known as Bobby. Watch my smell. You You'll be able to smell it. I'm going to leave like that. Oh yeah, I can smell something. Something's in there. She was already dead. She was. On January 4th, 2018, Phil Snyder told everyone he was taking his wife Bobby on a final trip to Graceland. her lifelong dream. But it soon became clear that she never returned and he had no good explanation why. Hey, Phil. Do you Are you Phil? Yeah. Do you mind if I step in for a second? Sure. Good morning. How you doing? Doing good. Good. Hey, uh we had some calls from family members and they just wanted us to come out and check and make sure you're okay on your you and your wife. Are you guys okay? I'm okay. Yes. Okay. My wife passed away. Okay. When did that happen? The 6th. The 6th of January. Yeah. Okay. How'd that happen? We went down to Memphis to see Elvis's down there. And what family members ask you to check? Uh Brian did. Oh, okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. They just wanted us to check and make sure that you're okay. And so, so what happened? She had u When did when when did you guys go down? Well, we left the fifth, January 5th. Actually, the fourth, the late on late on the fourth and fifth, got down there the sixth and on her flam. She kept she'd been for quite a by a year. Okay. and she wanted to go down one more time before she she thought I think she knew she was going to Okay. His story changed repeatedly, claiming she died in Tennessee, then saying he didn't know which ambulance took her or even where she was cremated. When uh when they transported, did you speak with the coroner or No. No. No. So, what happened? So, where's your wife now? What happened to her? They took her to a place where they had pre-made people. Okay. And you don't know where that is either? No, they they said I could I didn't need to stay. I could if I wanted to, I could just go ahead and go home. Okay. So, what are they going to do with the the cremation? Yeah. Not She didn't want no ashes kept back. Okay. We've talked about this. Oh, several times. Several times. Not several, but in the last six months, we've talked about it. She would say, "If I die, no, I don't want to be sitting on someone's shelf." So, no ashes back. And so, when you uh So, when this all happened, the ambulance transported to the hospital where So, you don't know the ambulance or the hospital or anything? No. For each time that law enforcement spoke with him, they were drowning in red flags. But once they got to search his house, these red flags turned into actual evidence. Got me on tape. You got me on tape. Yep. Nim [Applause] nim. No, it's just I mean we'll we'll tell. All right. So, we got area here. It could be something. It could be this. It could be this. I mean, this could have been in the truck when Yeah. Watch my smell. You You'll be able to smell it. I'm going to leave like that. Oh, yeah. I can smell something. Something's in there. Suka. Suken. All right. So, something's All right. We're going to leave them. I don't want you touch anymore. Son's done. But I just don't know if it's that or if it's Do you smell that? Do you smell it? Yeah, I can get a whip. Yeah. Go ahead and just move it if you want. Just Just the lid. You want it? Now, here's more Christmas. He's not interested. Any other Christmas stuff he's Did you smell that? It does smell like something. In the days where the K9 team was searching Phil's home, he had tried to take his own life, but failed. Despite finding traces of blood and hearing Phil's failed suicide note claiming innocence, investigators were stuck. With no body and no confession, they had to try something new. Over the next few weeks, Phil stayed in contact with people who thought they were simply offering a listening ear. But one of them wasn't who she claimed to be. Law enforcement had sent in an undercover officer posing as a sympathetic woman who had recently lost her husband. The two began talking, sharing grief, trading stories, and eventually secrets. What Phil didn't realize was that every word he said was being carefully recorded. But come on, tell me. Tell you what. I don't know. I can't tell you anything else. I thought you were going to tell me. I was like, I'm so like I'm thinking because I'm thinking how would I do it? What would I do? And I think we're a lot alike. I think we think alike. So I'm thinking how how So I was thinking about it last night. I actually fell asleep thinking about it and I was thinking about last night. I even dreamt about it because it was like how would I do and I don't think I'd hammer in the truck that that's the thing. But it was zero or not zero 10 degrees. It was cold. Yeah. But like what if you got pulled over or something? I didn't care. Yeah, I was in Right. I was in shock. Right. I get that. I get that. I mean, and what are they going to find? But you're But however, though, you're very smart. You are very very very smart. That's what that's what And you fooled him. That's why he told you that. That's why your son hurted it because you both they look they they don't name anything which is intriguing. The undercover officer Joan or Missy as Phil knew her was brilliant at making him feel safe enough to open up. She carefully built trust creating the illusion of shared grief. And that false sense of security would soon bring investigators one step closer to uncovering the truth about what really happened to Bobby. I could give you a scenario. Yes. Give me a scenario. Right. And that's just Yeah, I'm with you. Don't forget about the tennis scenario. Okay. I can give you a scenario. Okay. I asked a guy who picks up dumpsters behind uh my windows. Yeah. I said, "What do you do with that?" He said, "Take it to the ground." I said, "What do you do with the neighbor trash?" He says, "I take it. They sort through it." You mean like the neighbor trash you put out by the road? Yeah. I'm not real smart. So Oh, you put her in the dumpster. That's a scenario. I know, but okay. Well, then she's buried 10 ft deep in garbage now. We won't find her. There's no way. Just a scenario. I know. I know. I know. So, just a scenario. Phil may have thought that speaking in hypotheticals would protect him. That if he didn't admit anything directly, it couldn't be used against him. But that couldn't be further from the truth. How long would it take for a body to decompose? Does it really take that long? But what about if you were in garbage? I would think that that would speed it up. But she might not be in garbage. She might be. What is it? No. Come. Okay. You love to tease with me, don't you? Okay. What? Let's talk about the maybe. We're just We're just scenario. It's just a scenario. Yes. Okay. What kind of dump? Did they say what kind of dump they that the big ones go to? Well, it's huge. It is like how many people put it like tons like it's a big one or is it like a huge Okay. Do they dump this? Well, you don't know. Do you know anything about that truck? It compacts. Mhm. The truck that picks up here from Wendy's. Yeah. Burger King. And over here at the that gas station. Yeah. That dumpster over there. Yeah. that it goes in compact. Right. Right. And he takes it to the dump and he pushes it out. Okay. And then pushes it out and then they push out on top of it or do they push out around it? And then there's a big truck that dumps dirt over top. pipes that come up to to vamp so that it'll like disintegrate. Why? This is just this is just this. Yes. So, what do the pipes do? Yeah. So, it's been scenario wise, it's been three months. So, three months of although it's been cold, not hot. It'll help when it's hot. Don't you think? I don't know. Right. I know. I know. I know. Um, see, now you got me intrigued. At this point, Joan's hidden camera ran out of battery, forcing her to switch to a discrete audio recorder, but it was all she needed. What came next would capture the final piece of evidence that law enforcement had been waiting for, enough to finally secure an arrest warrant. You're gonna tell me though. How it happened, aren't you? I'm done. I think. Wait. Yeah, I'm done. You're going to tell me how it happened. After I get to Cincinnati, I'll tell you how. No, no, no, no. Good try. I'm done. I think you should just tell me so we can get past that so I can quit wondering to tell you the truth. because I'm wondering and like I said, I don't even care which is crazy about it. I don't even care if you her put her in a and drank her for breakfast. Well, I know you didn't do that. I know. So, but it's sort of like I'm like, okay, I'll be laying there like, okay, did he use it right? Did he like how? No, I know, but I want to know. And it's like why? I don't know why. I just do. Say she wasn't breathing. This is a scenario. What? And I'll put a You get a plastic bag from Some grocery stores don't have paper. They give you a plastic bag. Like Giant Eagle, the blue ones. Yeah. Or Yeah. Yeah. Like that thin though. That's pretty thin. Okay. Yeah. Say her tongue was stuck. If you put a bag, say this is just a scenario, right? Over her face. Yeah. And tied it around her neck, right? It's just a scenario, right? She wasn't breathing anyway, possibly, but I didn't try to help her because she didn't want me to. Right. So, but aren't those too thin? You know, how But okay. So, how long does it take? Does it take a while? If I did that to my If I Would that be better to do it like that to my mom or with the pillow? If I were to do that? If you were to do that? Yeah. Do the pillow. Let's say you have to tie the bag around her neck. Yeah. There might be a mark on her neck. uh just a scenario, right? Just a possibility, right? By now, it was painfully clear this wasn't just a hypothetical story. This was real life. And with the trust that Joan had managed to build, she kept pushing for the final details. However, though, I think you're close enough to me to know that. You know what I'm going to say, don't you? No, I don't. What do you think I'm going to say? You know me. What do you think I'm going to say? That you're going to ask me how I did it again? Well, I know how you did it. How did I do it? You while she was asleep on the couch, you put a plastic bag over her head, which has been tied up. She She was on the plastic. But how'd you get her on the plastic? She fell on her own. But I don't I don't buy that. Okay. Okay. You know why? Because I can see in your eyes. Okay. And I just want you to tell me if you But I do find it very intriguing. What? Me? Yeah. Every story. Oh, because I told you yesterday and I I get it. Like I I get the fed up. I get the I get it. being being um Yeah. being just being numb. Yeah. And all this happening and you probably afterwards stood back and was like, "What just happened?" I'm thinking I'm guessing. I don't know. Tell me. Does it feel like that? Kind of does. Kind of. Did you feel relief? Cuz I think that's how I would feel. I didn't feel relief until I was on the road and in Kentucky. Yeah. Then I felt relieved then. Well, you probably didn't feel relief till you were on your way back. No, it was on her way down. Even with her in there, you felt relieved. You should have done that. A I should have. But I'm glad [Music] you didn't show me because I'm going to win fair and square. Okay, I'm done. Okay. After a few more rounds of cards, Joan made her quiet exit, wrapping up her final meeting with Phil. Just a few hours later, officers arrived at the same Burger King where Joan and Phil had met time and time again. Only this time, they weren't there for small talk. They were there to put him in handcuffs. She sure was. Coming up on hockey board. You okay? You want to talk to me? I talked to you as a friend. Well, The bad news is you got to work for your wrist. Okay. So, you got to park my truck at my step. You're kidding. Step up. You're kidding. Step up. Now, do me a favor. Let's stay right over here. When Phil arrived in jail for the murder of his wife, he still had no idea that Joan, or Missy, as he knew her, was the undercover officer behind his arrest. He even tried to use his one phone call on her. Unsurprisingly, she didn't pick up. Phil was ultimately sentenced to 20 years behind bars for aggravated murder, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Given his age, the judge called it what it really was, a life sentence. To this day, Robera's body has never been found, though Phil did tell police which dumpster in Kentucky he had thrown her into. Moving on to the case where a dangerous suspect attempted a carjacking only to realize he targeted an undercover cop. Police give me a hand. Give me a hand. On June 19th, 2023, two undercover officers from LMPD's fugitive unit were inside a vehicle conducting surveillance to apprehend a suspect in an unrelated investigation. However, their stakeout was suddenly interrupted when an armed suspect approached their car, quickly discovering he'd picked the wrong targets to rob. Police. Give me a hand. Give me a hand. Fired. Fired. What is your deal, bro? There's somebody back here. I just tried to get robbed. I wouldn't rob you. What's your name? Mark. What? Mark. Send cars to me. Somebody try to rob and rob me. Just uh ma'am, stay over here. Which way they go? He's down. Start EMS with location. Which tree are you on? The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Mark Jaggers Jr. who up until this moment was still alive. However, after being struck multiple times by the officer, including a critical wound to the chest, his condition rapidly deteriorated and immediate medical assistance became crucial. Stand over here. We're going to try to help him. Stand over here. in the rear address. What's that? Pull together and tell us where you're at and if you're injured. I'm okay. I'm going to be in the rear of 2200 block of Griffith. [Applause] Stand over here. Anybody else? Okay, Matt. You want me to start on him? Yeah. Go ahead on, baby. What's his name? His name is Mark. Okay, that's my baby daddy. Okay, we're going to get him working on right now. Please. That's my baby daddy. That is my baby daddy. I can't. I can't. Oh my god. Oh my god. Right here. Understandably, Jagger's girlfriend was in immense distress after arriving at the scene and seeing her boyfriend, the father of her child, lying severely wounded on the ground. Coming up, additional officers arrived to administer life-saving aid while awaiting EMS. What do you need? Hey, man. Talk to me. Uh, probably a seal. Yeah. Give me a chest. What? Uh, 2200 block. North south alley. Yeah. North south alley. Right behind 2200 black. Give me a chest seal. That's [Music] for both sides. You know how many times? No. Hey, just talk to me. I'm going to try to get gloves. Is that what you need? Yeah. I'm trying to grab gloves. Uh, that's baby mama's car. She just pulled up. No. [Applause] [Music] Here's some. Here you go, Jay. If you need gloves. Hey, buddy. Talk to me. Here's gloves. Hey, watch out. The gun's right there. Come on. Y I'm not coming down. Somebody on the ground. Hey brother, talk to me. My brother wants to switch when I get done with this. Anything for real? EMS responded to the scene and Jaggers was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Now we turn to the case of a trafficker who thought he was meeting a buyer but instead found himself face to face with the cops. Hands up. Hands up. Don't move. Told you we'd get you. On October 5th, 2022, deputies responded to an unverified tip about a possible nar deal. However, what they hadn't anticipated was that the situation would soon escalate beyond their control. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Charlie Young 73. Charlie Young. [Music] [Music] The suspect, Gabriel, fled the scene at high speed, prompting officers to call off the pursuit due to safety concerns. Later, a K9 unit was deployed to search the area for any traces of narcotics. During this search, the suspect's vehicle was located and subsequently towed to the police department for further investigation. That whole left side is up. The left side I realized. Yeah, his whole left side. He's got a scratch like a dent in the driver door and something by the wheel. Well, yeah. You went over that. Yeah. All right, let's go up and see. Uh, yeah. So, it's got damage. That's got to be when it went over cuz said that it lost part of the car. So, front end damage. Oh, look at how scraped up that is. He had to have hit something on the back. Had to. But maybe not. Big right here. He's hit a lot of [ __ ] Yeah. This is This is new cuz that went all the way down the metal and it hasn't rusted yet. Two months later, after closely monitoring the suspect's activities, officers organized an undercover operation, setting a trap for him near a gas station. Hands up. Hands up. Hands up. Don't move. Don't move. Told you we'd get you. What's up, Gabriel? Do it. Don't move. You're going to get yourself hurt, man. Over 64 regular heartbeat with the family. What's up, Gabriel? Window. Come here. It's just I just That was unexpected. Like I get you. I get you. With immense satisfaction, the officers could confirm that their undercover operation had been a major success. Coming up, officers confiscated Gabriel's belongings and had the opportunity to speak with his niece. Is this his stuff or whose stuff is this? My stuff. This is all yours. Yeah. Everything in here is mine. I don't know. I don't I didn't know if he brought anything with him. I don't Okay. He didn't bring any bags with him? No. You 100% sure? Yeah. I met him over there by the ser by the by the ser by Cosner. So you met him by Cosner and by Armitage. Armitage. The niece's account indicated she was a victim of difficult family circumstances, particularly due to her uncle's repeated criminal behavior. Coming up, officers informed the niece about the next steps to advance their investigation. What's going to happen right now is we're going to have to tow the car. My car? Yeah. Cuz all the illegal stuff in that bag is his. Okay. You told us it's his. I asked you. It was all in the car. So, we're going to have to We're going to lock it up and it's going to get towed to Niles Police Department. Do you know where that's at? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Well, that's not that has nothing to do with me and I and I just said that was not that has that's none of my stuff and I I don't have no other car. I see no way to get around. Hold on. My other car key is in there in the glove department in the armrest thing. It's a It has a hal and it's like a with a Okay, give one second. With the car towed, Gabriel was ready to be transported to jail. This was when officers worked on securing the charges that would have him ringing in the new year from behind bars. [Music] Let's go to that wall. However you want it. Yeah, you can. Um, we're going to read you your rights. U, but I just got to get just basic information first. Your full name, last name, all that stuff. Okay. Uh, give me one second. We'll let you make phone calls. You can call me G. All right. So, statement rights. Before you answer any question or make any statements, you must fully understand your right. Number one, you have the right to remain silent. Number two, this is not admitting any guilt. This is nothing with guilt. Okay? And I'm even saying this is nothing admitting guilt. This is just us giving you your rights and you just advising that yes, we gave you your rights. Okay. Um we may also go after your girlfriend because she was in the car from September that September incident. We may also go after her cuz we've attempted to contact her and she refused to come in. She refused to get pick up the car. So, there may be charges with her. I don't know if she's is she like a medical student. Does she do anything in in the medical field? Are she a nurse or something or No, I don't have to talk. Okay, you don't have to. That's fine. So, why don't you call your lawyer, tell him where you're at, let him know what's going on. Tell him know what what happened. Um I'm sure he knows because he he talked to my partner. Your lawyer knows the charges, right? He talked to my partner three or four times and we suggested you come in and you didn't do that. So, um yeah, just here if you want, we'll uncuff you. We can um have his number and you can call him. Okay. You need a number? Okay. I'll be okay. You could tell me. Are you okay? You okay? Okay. Contact people. Yeah, you can. We'll get you food. Finish. You can't bring that. Finish that. They're coming with food. They're coming with food. When they come, they'll give you a cup. All right. It shouldn't be long. You'll get You'll get food, man. Some to eat, some to drink. All right. Okay. The suspect was charged with fleeing, possession of illegal contraband, delivery of controlled substance, unlawful use of weapon, and battery on a peace officer. Moving on to the case where two underage suspects were caught with firearms and alcohol. But bringing them in wasn't easy as neither had any interest in listening to orders given by the cops. Open the door right now. Open the door. Freedom of speech is hitting a cop car. That's freedom of speech. You dumb ass. Hit somebody, dude. Talking about We know you were in the car. We had UC our undercover units right next to you, idiot. I know what you're talking about. You're lucky we didn't see you, stupid. He's right here. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Unlock the door. Unlock the door. [Applause] [Music] [Music] Officers managed to spike strip the vehicle as it left the garage, but quickly lost sight of until they heard a loud crash nearby. So, you're still alive. Stay alive for a little bit. South [Music] air support has it clear. It was over here. [Music] Yeah, it was him. Where'd he go? He was right here. Hey, he was just right here. We cut him off.
