I went to lunch, came back, and then when I came back from lunch, there was like a student like like not sitting on her lap, but his face was like on her lap. First of all, she's like a teacher, which >> and it's a student, so it's like >> not normal. >> Some disturbed teachers believe their horrible acts will go unnoticed and that they will escape the consequences. But what happens when cops show up and completely tear their cover apart? With you being a rabbi, a teacher, an instructor, two young [music] children, how can you tell me that you're not a threat? If you're willing to meet a 14-year-old, you extremely uncomfortable. >> These were the moments when perverted teachers realized their [music] cover was blown. We begin with the case of a fourth grade teacher who was caught texting someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl trying to arrange an inappropriate meeting. >> I have reason to believe that you've been in communication uh inappropriate communication >> with a 13-year-old child. He took some pretty good steps towards um wanting to [music] have with a child. So that's a big deal to us. Um it should be a big deal to you. >> Uh it did not happen. So >> you didn't communicate with a child? [music] >> I never met with her and I never intended to. >> On August 2nd, 2025, Detective Drew Sinclair launched an online investigation by posing as a 13-year-old girl named Clare. After posting an ad, Drew was contacted by the person who responded, 42-year-old Ross Ashenfelter, a fourth grade teacher. Over the course of more than two months, Ross carried on conversations with the fake girl, openly planning to meet her and offering between $1,000 and $3,000 to hook up with her. Things escalated when Ross sent a photo of a hotel reservation he had already [music] booked. By October 13th, investigators had gathered everything they needed, and officers approached Ross at the school where he worked, leaving him with no room for excuses [music] and no way out. >> Hi there. Are you Mr. Mr. Ashen Pelter. >> Hi. >> Are you Mr. Ashen Pelter? >> Yeah. Hi. >> Hey, I'm Detective Hoffman, Sheriff's Office. >> Yeah. Hi. >> Right now, I want to tell you you are under arrest. So, do me a favor. Stand up. Put your hands behind your back for me. >> Excuse me. >> Right now, you're under arrest. >> Okay. >> Here, this is Detective Sinclair right in front of you. >> Yeah. >> He'll explain kind of what's going on. >> Okay. >> Sure. >> Um, I have reason to believe that you've been in communication, uh, inappropriate communication, okay, >> with a 13-year-old child that lives in >> Okay. Apparently, you told her at some point last week that you were going to come meet up with her >> and she um and then you didn't. >> So, she told her mom that she'd been talking to [music] a teacher. We did some investigation and found out that that teacher was you. >> Okay. >> So, that's why we're here. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Ross was a teacher at Lake Roosevelt Elementary School. Being close to children every single day. The mere thought that a man would be willing to meet up with a child is disgusting enough, but knowing that he worked as a teacher made things deeply worse. And yet Ross didn't seem to [music] grasp the seriousness of the situation. >> Any weapons or anything on you, sir? >> Uh, no. >> No. Um, I would like to talk to you a little bit about um what's been going on um to see what your mentality was, [music] >> why you did or didn't show up in Ellensburg. Um I'm >> I'm relieved that you did not. >> No. >> Um but [music] um I would still like to talk to you about that because it is something that she said was an ongoing conversation for quite some time. Mh. >> Um, and um, [music] >> and we have all of those text communications between you. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So, right now, I want to make sure you know that we are recording. >> Okay. >> Right now, you have the right to remain silent and you can say against you in the court of law. >> Okay. >> You have right this time to talk to a lawyer, have him present with you while you're being questioned. You got to afford to hire a lawyer. One will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights, not answer your questions, or make any statements. >> Do you understand the rights I read? >> Yes, I do. Uh, no statements. [music] No statements. Okay. >> Assuming this is going to be important. We're going to want to take this with you. >> Okay. >> Yes. [music] >> Yes. >> Okay. What's the process here? >> So, like Detective Sinclair said, he he'd like to speak with you, >> but of course you have the right to not speak to anybody if you don't want to. >> And he's decided not to. >> He doesn't want to make these statements right now. >> Okay. >> Yeah. [music] Um, so what we'll do is, um, these guys will transport you back to Ellenford [music] and you're going to get booked into the Kittas County Jail for communication with them for all purposes. >> Is there a simpler way to do this? >> Like how? uh sort of booking and >> well it's a class C felony and we take communications and the potential like you took some pretty good steps towards um wanting to have with a child. >> So that's a big deal to us. >> Um it should be a big deal to you. >> Yes. Yes. >> So I guess I'm I'm failing to understand what how you would like to simplify things. >> Uh it did not happen. So, >> you didn't communicate with a child? >> I never met with her and I never intended to. >> No, I Well, >> okay. I don't want to ask you any questions because you've asked you've said that you don't want to provide a statement right now. Um, I would like to know more of what your version of events and your and your side of the story is, but um >> until you decide that you kind of want to wave your mind right and have that conversation, I really [bell] can't ask you any questions. Okay. Ross tried to get out of the situation by downplaying what he did. According to his logic, planning to meet up with a child and even booking a hotel was no big deal as long as he didn't commit the act, but this illusion existed only in his mind, as no reasonable person would harbor such depraved thoughts. And even when confronted by the detective about his actions, Ross continued to behave as if he were an innocent teacher. >> Okay. So, I I have to go to Elenford. >> Yes. >> How long is this process? >> Um, you'll go to court tomorrow and then bail will be set. >> They go to prison. Uh, I that's out of my wheelhouse. That's not anything. >> I mean, jail, do I need to stay the night or jail? >> Yeah, you'll Yeah, you'll have to see a judge before um you'll have to go to an arraignment or probable cause hearing for the judge to determine that there's probable cause and then he'll set a bail amount. And [music] um basically, if you do bail out, some criteria that you have to follow and one of them is probably going to be that you don't have any contact with children. [music] >> Okay? So, you probably won't be allowed back to the school for the foreseeable future. >> Okay. >> At least until your case is adjudicated. >> Is there any way for you know I'm not going to run and I'll show up. Is there any way to not [music] need to go all the way to Ellensburg? >> No, we're going to Ellensburg today. >> Okay. >> Like I said, I' I've read all of the text communication between you and this child, and [music] it's highly inappropriate for any adult to have um with a child, let alone a fourth grade teacher. [music] >> Okay. Do >> you have any more questions for me? >> Uh, is it necessary to handcuff me? I'm not going anywhere. >> What? >> Yeah. Right now, when we get to the car and you're sitting down, we'll move to the front because it is a long drive and it getting kind of stuck behind your back, but our policy requires us to have people in our car in handcuffs. >> But they will be moved to the front of your body. >> Yeah, but we'll move to the front so it's not you're not sitting on the whole time. >> Okay, let's uh let's head down to the car. >> The search warrant is it does include your car. We're going to search. >> Well, my students will not be ready for tomorrow. >> Okay. Um, the chief's going to contact the superintendent and let [music] them know. >> You have my phone? >> Yeah, I do. >> It's in there. We're going to serve a warrant on it. >> How far away are you there? Cuz she's our union rep. >> I'm going to Ellensburg to be booked. >> Okay. Uh, you probably want union rep for uh service. [laughter] >> Okay. >> Little little shock right now. I'm going contact my brother. >> And what do you want me to write that down? >> I've been booked. >> Okay. >> For um inappropriate [music] communications, but I have done nothing. So, >> okay. >> How long is the booking process? >> It depends on how busy the jail is. Typically pretty quick though. >> Okay. Can I stay overnight or get released? >> You'll stay overnight. >> Okay. Unlike communication, just want to avoid it. Not good. Not good at all. >> In the end, Ross was charged with communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. He later pleaded not guilty and was released after posting a $100,000 bail. Moving on to the next case, where a rabbi tutor thought that meeting up with a 14-year-old boy would pass unnoticed until his plan fell dramatically apart. There's an allegation that's been made that um that you were going to come here and that you [clears throat] had intentions of picking up a minor for relations. And how old was this boy? >> This boy at first he told me he was 19 and then he told me he was 14. >> Okay. And then when he told you he was 14, you were still coming to meet him. >> On September 18th, 2025, [music] officers from the Delray Beach Police Department received a disturbing call. According to the caller, an elderly teacher identified as 64year-old Levi Cash had been caught planning to [music] meet someone he believed was a 14-year-old boy for inappropriate purposes. The caller, Dun Lampron, was a 561 predator catcher, and the person behind the character working with a decoy known as People Fi Predators. During the period in which Levi was communicating with the fake boy, the decoy told him he was 14 instead of 19, as the teacher had previously believed. But the tutor stated that it was not a problem and even referred to the boy as his next student. Through text messages, Levi and the boy planned to meet at a store in Delray Beach. And Levi traveled from Miami to meet him where he was caught in the act and had his shameful plan exposed. >> With you being a rabbi, a teacher, an instructor, two young children, how can you tell me that you're not a threat if you're willing to meet a 14-year-old for You drove all the way down here. >> Yeah, that was very stupid to do. >> Very stupid. Right. >> Yeah. Extremely. >> You wanted to bottom. What does that mean? >> What does bottom mean? I'm not familiar with this term. What does that mean? [music] That means explain it. That means the active person is [music] the guy on top and the bottom is the one >> and you wanted a bottom. >> Yeah. >> You wanted a 14-year-old to put his [music] inside you. >> That's what you wanted? >> Yeah. Extremely uncomfortable. >> After confronting the teacher, Dustin called the police. At the scene, officers began working the case by gathering statements from everyone involved, aiming to understand what led to the events of that day. >> Hello, my friend. >> How you doing, sir? Who is >> just walk me through it. Who is the uh the who who called the police department? >> I called you guys department >> with 56 PC. >> Okay, sir. Do me a favor, my friend. >> What is uh your first name? >> Dustin Lost. >> Dustin Lost. Okay. Beautiful. And then just raise your right hand for a second. Do you swear the following statements you're about to give is true? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Now, you put your hand down. All right. So, tell me what happened. >> This gentleman right here, 64, his name's Levi Cash. He came here to pick up a 14-year-old. >> Okay. >> And he drove here um was going to buy a condom in Loom. once he saw the 14-year-old and uh and he was going to meet him by the game. He was going to meet him by the gaming uh section. And so we walked over, he was in the gaming section on the phone with our decoy, the decoy is people verses. They notified me that he was talking to what he thought was a 14-year-old and came here and picked him up for we approached them, asked him some questions, and you guys showed up. >> Okay, beautiful. Okay. Uh do you got your ID from any statement can be and will be used against you in the court of law. Do you understand that? >> Yes. >> Okay. Beautiful. So, you understand all your right says have read them to you? >> Yes. >> Okay. Beautiful. So, I'm going to put this away just cuz we have to get that out of the way. So, now the reason I'm here today is because there's an allegation made. >> Brian, I got this. >> There's an allegation that's been made that um that you were going to come here and that you had intentions of picking up for relations. Can you give me your side of the story to that allegation? I came here not exactly knowing what I was going to do. >> All right. Well, keep in mind keep in mind that they have both recorded and any written state. So, I'm I'm asking you to be honest and truthful with me because I just need to know. In other words, you know, this is your chance now to explain to me what you were doing here because I guess you don't even live in this area, right? No. >> Okay. So, you drove up here. What was the intentions of driving up here? This is >> meeting somebody. Yeah. >> Okay. Meeting who? meeting a boy who said his name. >> Okay. And how old was this boy? >> This boy at first he told me he was 19 and then he told me he was 14. >> Okay. And then when he told you he was 14, you were still coming to meet him. >> Okay. >> Here in Target. >> In Target. Was there any particular spot in Target that you were supposed to meet the >> He said by the by the games. >> Okay. By the games. Okay. All right. And then did you go into Target and go by the game area? >> Yes, I did. >> All right. And that's where their videos are going to show you that you were in Target and by the game area. Okay. >> Okay. So, all right. Let me >> And they made statements that they weren't going to tell the police that they, >> you know, I feel a little bit like >> Well, they definitely tricked you. They definitely tricked you, but you were about to do something very evil. So, with that with that being said, let me just talk to my supervisor for a second over here. >> Levi immediately confessed to his crime, realizing it was over for him. He was a homeschool teacher who had taught several children before Dustin appeared. His position as a teacher, tutor, and rabbi demanded extreme trust from families. But now, he was being caught breaking one of the most basic rules known to society. >> Yeah. Yeah, that's right. That's right. All right, Levi, this is what's going to happen. I need you to just stand up for me. I'm going to have you put your hands behind your back. No, give me one second. I will give these back to you. Just give me >> Are you putting cuffs on me? >> I am going to be putting cuffs on you. Okay. >> Why? >> You're going to be arrested. Okay. Uh, what you did is illegal. >> It's immoral and it's unethical. >> I know. >> Wait, you you got to stand up. >> The quicker I get you out of here, the less embarrassing it is for you because right now it's probably going to cause a scene. >> And my car is here. >> Okay. >> Your car your your car is legally parked. That's fine. Let me have you turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Okay. >> Easy. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Of course. I'm going to actually use two cuffs. This way we don't hurt here. And take off this watch first if you don't mind. >> And you're going to take me and book me? >> Yes. >> Can you see if his phone's ringing right here? >> His phone right now. Are you calling his phone? >> Not that. >> You have another phone. >> Oh. This guy's a teacher. >> Based on that, my investigation. All right. Yeah. I'm going to go ahead and put our sees here. Let me have you put your hands behind your back. >> Another one. >> Okay. >> Teacher, guys. >> A rabbi, I think. Excuse me, sir. I'm not going to go to your like that. I'm just going to All right, Brian, could you favor? >> Can you assist me so that I get out of here still at my 5:00 bag here? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> So, hold on one second. What's his name? >> Levi. >> Right now, you're being detained. Give me one second. Let me just >> Levi, you can have a seat for one second over here. Okay. >> Well, here. Watch out. You're going to >> move to the side. Yep. Right there. Upside down. Right there. >> After placing Levi in handcuffs, the officers asked Dustin to send them all the proof he had. But nothing could have prepared them for what they read. Levy was not only planning to meet the boy, but had also exchanged extremely inappropriate messages with him. Something no teen or child should ever be exposed to. >> For right now, you're just a te. You're not going to be arrested right now. They're continue their investigation. >> All right, Levi, here. You're going to come with me. Okay. I thought >> I'm going to walk you to your vehicle to my vehicle. >> You're going to be released on scene for right now. >> Okay. >> And then uh we just need to get some additional information from you. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> No, no. I'm sorry. >> Do you have to work walking with these? >> No. >> Yeah. Where's your car? >> Down the road. >> Which one? >> How far down the road? >> It's too far down the road for me. I can't. >> What do you mean too far down the road? >> No, I should have parked closer, but >> Okay. Just watch your step over here. >> I know. I'm sorry. >> Listen, man. That I'm I'm not going to lie. I mean, I'm being very nice to you and I'm respecting you. >> What you were going to do, that's very evil. >> No, it is. >> Which one? >> Con there. >> Okay. All right. Hang out right here for a second. Undo your cuffs here. Turn around. >> You put the cuffs on. Thank you so much for not making it too tight. >> Oh, you're welcome. Like I said, I'm I'm going to treat you like a I'm going to treat you respectfully. >> I'm and I'm trying to be respectful to you. >> You are. >> I'm trying not to do anything stupid. Although, >> please please don't. >> I personally would like to just dig a hole and crawl into it. >> I understand that. >> And then what happens? I'm going to have a court appearance. >> So, no. What's going to happen is one of our detectives is going to reach out to you >> and then we go from there. >> Okay. And will he meet with me? >> It's a she and I'm not sure. And maybe over the phone, maybe in person. I don't know. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Wherever I have to go. I guess it depends on what you find. >> Yeah. I don't I don't know. I don't know. I mean, I'm I'm sure we're not going to find good stuff. I mean, you know, you you even admitted to that. >> Not with Not with kids. All the kids. This was the only >> Everything else was above 80. Okay. >> A lot of stupidity. >> Okay. If it's over, do these guys need to be recording stuff? >> They're they're going to Yeah, they're going to be here till we get you out of here. But that's why we're also here as well. So, >> during the investigation, Levi showed signs of remorse the entire time, but it was already too late, and he was now facing the consequences of his disgusting decisions. Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant [music] and the next day, Levi was met by officers once again where he would finally receive the news about his fate. >> Hello, Mr. Cash. >> Do you have your ID on you? >> Yes, I have a receipt. Yes. Thank you. I'm just going to listen to this young man over here. >> How you doing, sir? Can I just take me a favor? Put your hands behind your back. You said your hand. You said I understand that. Yeah, we'll explain it. >> We're going to explain everything. >> And I'm being put into >> Yes, you're being arrested. Okay. >> We have an arrest warrant for you signed by a judge. >> I I don't know why you didn't tell me that over the phone. >> You might not have come a different day because of the Sabbath tonight. >> Unfortunately, sir, >> that's not how it works. I understand that, but >> I I voluntarily came in. >> Absolutely. And we appreciate that. >> But >> but I came under I came under false pretenses though. >> I I understand I understand where you're coming from. >> I was very Do you have anything like that? >> Yeah, I do. >> Don't worry. I got it. Just right here. >> Yep. Am I >> in the car? Is my to check my blood? I'm diabetic. >> Um, so about your car, do you want your family to come pick your car? Do you want us to tow it? >> They can't come pick it up now >> because of the sab. >> So, do you want us to tow it? >> Tow it where? >> To a tow? >> No. >> Have them pick up there. You're arresting me now for how long? >> Well, that's not up to us. >> Yeah, that that's up to the judge to be able to set if he wants to set a bond or not. Um, you'll probably see the judge first thing in the morning. >> Can I let my wife know? >> Yes, >> I'm here. >> Or >> we can let her know. We don't allow You can make a phone call from the county jail. >> That's where you take me? >> That's where this officer is going to take you. Yeah. Levi's first concern should have been the fact that he committed a horrendous crime, but that didn't seem to be the case. But no matter his explanations for how the situation should be handled, nothing would work. >> You can call her and let her know. >> Can we get my blood monitor out of the car? >> Yes, >> we'll send it up to County Jail with you. >> Okay. >> Um, if you want us to contact your wife prior to you getting to county jail, we'd be happy to do that for you. Can I call her on the phone? >> When you get to county jail, which for our safety, we don't allow anyone to make phone calls prior to getting to county jail. >> Turn this off for you. I don't know how to work iPhones. >> So, do you need any phone number >> or do you know the phone numbers off? >> I know my wife's phone number. It's an 818 number. >> Okay. Do you need it or do you know about it? Cuz we can get it for you. >> I know it. >> Okay. >> I'm going tohead and just turn it off. This is going to go with you. I wish you would have. >> I understand, but I can't do that for the integrity of the case. >> Will you explain to me now what's going on? >> Sure. I mean, you were you know >> you were there yesterday and then I got probable cause and I got an arrest warrant signed by a judge today. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, >> but wouldn't it been nice to let me know and >> we don't do that. >> Give me an option of turning myself in. >> That's not how this works, unfortunately. >> So, I could have told my wife. I I left home thinking that I'm coming again. >> So, we've given you the option now. You can wait till you get to the county and they put you in a [music] cell and you can call her or we can notify her and let her know >> that you're on your way to county jail >> and then you'll be here in >> probably won't be able to call her for a few hours because >> look I'm really this was a big big mistake and I was kind of in a trap to go there and nothing ended up happening because people were entrapping me there. That's something that you're going to have to tell to your attorney when you get one. Okay. >> All right. So, um >> So, do you want to give us your wife's phone number so we can contact her prior to 7:00 p.m.? >> I I guess I have to. >> That's you don't have to do anything. >> No, but then my wife possibility [snorts] and pass. >> It's so good. I came up just I would have come in. In the end, Levi was charged with traveling to meet a minor for an unlawful act and with the unlawful use of a two-way communications device. The case remains pending, but if [snorts] Levi pleads guilty, he could face up to 15 years in prison. Up next, we have the case of a disgusting teacher who believed his secrets would remain hidden on his computer until cops showed up at his door. Hey, you Carson. >> Yeah. >> Is this a work one? >> Yeah. Okay. Do you mind if we take this with us? It's just work. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Back in April 7th, 2025. You had a a snap account. You had a conversation with a young man. I think he said he was 12 years old at the time. You asked if he, you know, liked it, liked older guys or whatever. Does that look familiar? >> I think I'd prefer a lawyer, please. On June 11th, 2025, officers were sent to a residence after a Snapchat cyber tip raised serious concerns about inappropriate online interactions between a teacher and a 12-year-old child. When they arrived at the home, they were greeted by the teacher himself, completely unaware that [music] his disturbing online behavior had already been flagged and was now under investigation. >> Hello. >> Hey, you Carson. Yeah. >> Hey, I'm Detect Band. Please mind if I come in and talk to you real quick? Um, >> can I put put some clothes on first? >> Yeah, that's fine. Yeah. Yeah. >> I'll be right back. Okay. Sorry to keep you waiting. >> That's all right. I need to get some of these things from my house. Keep uh keep the birds nest off the porch. >> My roommate's home, too, right now. >> Okay. Um I just wanted to talk to you inside. I don't want to put your information out public. It's your choice whether we talk or not outside or >> Yeah. Can we do it out here? >> Okay. Yeah, absolutely. >> So, what I'm going to ask from you is two things. >> Um so, I'm doing an investigation right now that you're involved in. Okay. Um, I'm going to ask if you would allow me to see your bedroom to see if if you're the one who's involved or if I'm on the wrong path. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Can we do that? >> Sure. >> Okay. I appreciate it. >> Oh, you got a nice place. >> Mhm. >> There's no one else in here, right? Okay. Okay. Do you have your cell phone with you right now? >> I do. >> Okay. Do you have any other computers, laptops, anything like that? >> Uh here. >> Yeah. Is this a work one? Yeah. Okay. You mind if we take this with us? This just work. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Do you mind if we Does this belong to the UVI? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You mind if we take this with us? >> No. >> Okay. All right. So, I'm going to have to have you come down the police department. We're going to have a talk. Okay. >> Once we get there, I'll explain everything. Nothing to be all worried about. Okay. We just have to make sure that everybody's okay. Welfare checks. No one's hurt, no one's injured, that type stuff. Okay. >> The teacher, Carson, was completely caught off guard, but quickly realized there was no way out. Nothing he could say would be enough to challenge what the officers had already received, and he knew it. >> Fair enough. Yep. >> Is there any animals or anything that needs taken care of before we take off? >> If it was more serious, you'd be in handcuffs right now. Okay. So, >> do you need to photograph anything in there? >> No. >> Okay. Um, do you have your cell phone? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Any wallet, keys, or anything like that? >> All right. So, because you're going in my truck, I do have Make sure you don't have weapons on you. Okay. But I'm going to do it here so we're not out in public like that. >> This your cell phone? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> You don't have any razor blades or anything in here? >> No. I'm going leave your cash where it's at. Just make sure there's no razor blades. Put it back in. All right. I'm in a truck over here. Okay. >> Hey, Sarge. Can you stand by with him for just a second saying let the text messages just came through? Oh, it was just the roommate. I don't know if wants us to talk from the roomate or >> Yeah, I can say that one right in back pain. >> Yep. >> We're actually I think we're going to have him get in. He's going to watch him for just a second while I talk to you. Yep. >> He can sit in the front. >> Want me in the front? Yep. >> Pretty pretty sure that was a roommate that just texted him. You need anything? Need me to do anything? So, do you want one of us staying back to talk to her mate? You have no >> My understanding you just got back from vacation. >> Uh, I was in on the East Coast for some professional um music performances that I was >> Oh. >> involved in. >> Oh, okay. Cuz you're originally from what? Pennsylvania. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then you just finished your doctor degree. >> Uh I'm currently one more year left. >> Oh. Oh. For some reason, I thought you would like definitive dissert. I don't I'm not a smart guy. So, I thought when you do your dissertation like that's the you don't do anything else. Like I said, once we get up here, we'll go through everything. Like I said, if it was if it was serious, you'd be in handcuffs right now. We just have to make sure nobody's home, no one's injured. Just go straight in. There's going to be a room there on the right. Just have you have a seat over there against the wall on that far side. >> Um, can I get you a water or anything? >> Sure. >> Okay. >> Once in the investigation room, the officers were able to confront Carson and reveal how his disturbing acts were discovered, leaving no way for excuses. >> So, here's what I'm here for today. So, not only am I detective here for the city of Urbana, um, I'm also part of the task force for the Illinois Crimes Against Children for the State of Illinois, Illinois Attorney General's Office. Okay. My main goal is to make sure there's no kids that are injured, hurt, um have been victims, um been stuff like that. Okay, that's my main goal here. All right, I need honesty though because I started chasing some of these people down. I haven't been able to talk to everyone. I don't know everyone you've had contact. Okay, if someone's injured or someone's been a victim, it will be kind of a big deal. Okay, I'll let you know that. Um we all have fantasies. We all do stuff online. I've been doing this for a long time. Trust me, I sit on this side of the table probably once a week. Okay? Nothing you'll say will surprise me, will make me think any sort of way. All right? I get it. I've been there, done that. All right? So, it came across um how it initially came across before I started investigating and finding more was uh Snapchat sent us a report. So, anything that's done online is traceable, right? Um, it's either traceable by verified accounts, IP addresses, uh, keywords within people's uh, messages, how people talk. Um, we all have a certain way in which we talk. So, I'm sure like with music, certain musicians have a certain way in which they play that makes them unique from others. The technology and AI now allows us to be able to identify people through all this stuff. Um, but Snapchat sent us a thing saying, um, back in April 7th, 2025, [music] you had a a Snap account. Um, at that time, your username was Gaybot, or I'm sorry, your your username was Little Gay Bear 37. You've also used um, Gay Daddy and some other ones. Um, you had a conversation with a young man. I think he said he was 12 years old at the time. You asked if he, you know, liked it, [snorts] liked older guys or whatever. um you guys going through some explicit conversations, whatever. Um so when this comes when something like this comes through, so what happens is Snapchat by law is required to report that type stuff, right? And then it goes to Neckmech. Neckmech is I don't know, you're you're probably old enough. You're not my age yet, but um back in the day when [music] you had a missing kid and they put their face on a milk carton, right? That was Neckmech, the National Center for Missing Exploited Children. So NECME handles all these and they find out generally roughly the geographic area it happens. And so in this case, Hab Illinois, [music] so they sent it to Illinois attorney general's office. My boss there then sees kind of what town it occurred in. And then in this case, it's Urbana. So he calls me and says, "Hey, we need to look into this. We need to find out if there's any victims out there, anyone hurt, someone needs counseling, someone who needs victim services, stuff like that." Okay. The teacher remained calm during the investigation. It was certainly disconcerting to sit in that chair and be confronted with the evidence. But his disturbing behavior was finally being brought to light, and he was learning how the law deals with troubled people like him. So once I got it, then we get with Snapchat and say, "Hey Snapchat, here's what we got going on. I need all the records." And Snapchat says, "Okay, here you go." So Snapchat said, "Send us a bunch of records. I've been working with uh Kentucky. There's a town in Kentucky. That's where this boy's from. We had to identify who he was, make sure that there was no contact, right, and he wasn't [clears throat] victimized." And um he said no. It was some online stuff. um just some chats back and forth, just some words, some fantasies, you know. So, it's like, "All right, cool." The concern is now after getting stuff back from Snapchat, we're talking there's multiple people, right? And some we've identified, some we haven't. So, if this reminds you, this is the boy in Kentucky. That's what you sent him. Does that look familiar? I mean, it's okay, but we just have to get to the bottom of this. >> Okay. Do I need a lawyer? >> It's your choice. I think I'd prefer a lawyer, please. >> No, fair enough. Um, I'm going to respect that. What I will ask is, is there anything on your phone that's going to surprise me? >> I don't think so. >> Okay. Uh, you want to go through it together? >> I'm not sure. >> Okay. Your choice. We can go through it together. If you don't want to, that is your choice. I'm not trying to tell you one way or the other how to do anything. Um, I do have problem calls for a search warrant. Okay. Um, so I will, you know, if you don't want to, that's fine. I'll respect that, right? But then it will stay with me until I get a search warrant, go through it. If there's anything of evidentiary value, it'll stay with me till the end of the case. >> Does it make a difference in terms of like if I go through it with you or not? >> If there's nothing on, you can have it back now. Um, same with your laptop. You know, you said it's your work laptop. >> If there's nothing on there and you want to go with it so I can verify there's nothing on there, >> you can have it back because, you know, I don't know if you need that for whatever you're doing, paper or whatever. Um, so your choice. I don't care either way. >> All right, I'll go through with you. >> Okay, [snorts] let me let me go get him real quick. All right. >> Moments later, the officer came back this time ready to examine the devices and review the messages himself. >> All right. So, understanding you said you want an attorney, so I'm not going to ask you any questions. You don't have to >> go through this with me if you don't want to. Understand that. >> Okay. Is that something you want to do or not? >> Uh if it will uh >> if there's nothing evidence your value, you can have this laptop back. >> Yep. I'm happy to go through. >> What about your phone? >> What about it? >> What's the password for your phone? Is there is it okay to search your phone or not? >> Go for it. >> Is this the only phone you have? >> Yes. Let's look at messages. >> All right. So, I do have enough. I'm going to keep hold of this. Okay. This you can have back. >> Um, just hang out here for a few. I'll be right back with you. [snorts] >> In the end, Carson was indicted on two counts of receipt of fee and one count of transferring obscene material to a young person. That case was clearly one of grooming. But the next one took things to another level as a 25-year-old teacher was caught after exchanging disturbing messages and meeting her student for months. >> Anything past the kissing that happened when you guys have hung out at all? >> Um I know there was some text I'm trying to remember um about like some like breathing through your nose, some deep throating, things like that. Um is that something that happened when you guys hung out? On February 21st, 2025, officers were called to a middle school after a student made a disturbing report to the school's coordinators. According to the student, he had seen one of his classmates lying on the substitute [music] teacher's lap, an account that immediately raised serious concerns among staff and prompted them to contact the police. Once on scene, an officer began questioning the [music] witness, determined to uncover exactly what the teenager had witnessed that day. So um some other kids have come to us and told us that they saw some things that were like a little odd for um a classroom. >> Can you um share what you saw happening in the classroom? I went in there everything was normal and I went to lunch came back and then when I came back from lunch there was like a student like like not sitting on her lap but his face was like on her lap >> and then I didn't like mind it like cuz I I wanted to do my work and I'm like h that she could deal with that and then and then when I left and then when I came back for all my work done so I went to I was in there with another person and and I saw the same thing then but I didn't uh think about it mentioned it to me >> like that's weird. >> Yeah. And I'm like you're right it is weird cuz first of all she's like a teacher which >> and it's a student so it's like not >> normal you would see. Do you know what that kid's name is? >> No man. You ever seen him before? >> I've seen him at lunch a few times. He has sat in front of me a few times. >> Do you know any classes that he Is he her kid? Do you know? >> No, ma'am. I don't know any of that. >> Okay. Um, >> is he in either of the classes that you have with her? >> Uh, no, sir. >> Okay. So, he didn't You've never seen him in those classes with you before? >> No, sir. [snorts] >> Okay. Do you know anybody who maybe would know his name that was in there yesterday? >> Uh, no. I don't think >> you don't think so? >> No. like none of the students >> cuz in one more period I think I can't remember correctly >> but none of the students have talked with like specifically kids so I don't think they would know his name. >> So like yesterday when he was on her lap no kids were like acting like they were friends with him and they would know him. >> No one really talks with him in >> Okay. Is he a white kid? Spanish kid. >> Uh white kid. >> White kid. After hearing the boy's account, the victim, a 14-year-old student, was called into the room. But the way he described the situation raised [music] serious questions about what was truly happening between him and the teacher. >> So, I just want to say that when I walked into the clinic, he was in there with another student that of course I know that he knows that we talked to >> and I >> thank you. >> Um, and talking about the situation. Mhm. >> With >> Yep. >> Okay. >> So, what's your name? >> Deputy Rafrey. I don't know if you've seen me around. I'm sure you have. So, um, tell me tell me what's going on. >> You want me to be honest? >> Low key, I think all of her seventh period just hates her. >> All of her seventh period hates her. >> Yeah. I don't know why, but they just This is like apparently the second time this happened or something. >> Okay. What What makes you think that? uh low key because they always be cursing at her and they don't stop and they be throwing stuff in her room and she'll be telling them to stop and they just don't. >> Okay. So, I guess my question is why why do you think that you're in here talking to us right now? Cuz you're not in any trouble. I want you to know that you're not in trouble. >> Um we're just trying to make sure >> I'm already filled in on that situation. You don't got to >> Okay. What what what's the situation? >> Oh. Uh what's it? >> My other friend told me that uh apparently she's getting like told that somebody sat in her lap or something. Okay. >> Mhm. >> Was that you? >> No. >> Or Okay. So, cuz somebody showed us, you know, a video and it it kind of looks like you. So, what is what is going on? >> I didn't sit in her lap. >> Well, I wasn't saying sitting, but your head was there. >> I Yeah, I was laying down, but like nothing weird's going on, man. Like, I'm just going to be completely honest. Nothing weird's going on. >> Oh, and that's you. That's her you're talking to >> uh on a text or Discord >> messages. Nothing's weird. on Discord or >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um any text messages with her or just on Discord? >> Just on Discord. >> Okay. Um so you were you were in that class most of the day yesterday? >> Mhm. >> Okay. Um I mean there was a lot of people in there that weren't supposed to be in there, but um how often do you have her class? >> Like one period. >> Okay. >> It's my fault though. I made a fake pass and went in there. So, >> Gotcha. How old do you um How often do you are you in a a private uh server with her on Discord or you in a group server? >> Uh DMs and other stuff, but like nothing weird, you know. >> Okay. So, there are private and group. >> Yeah. >> Okay. The boy began explaining how he and the teacher kept in contact. According to him, their primary method was Discord, which was deeply strange as no teacher should ever communicate with a student through that platform. But this was only the beginning of the situation. And from that point on, things only got weirder. >> Have you ever talked to her outside of school? Well, I mean, on Discord, obviously, but >> Yeah. But no, not really. >> You've never met her outside of school? >> No. >> Okay. You ever been to her house? >> No, man. You're trying to make her seem like a pedo. She >> I'm not She's really not. >> I just There are questions I have to ask. He's got like a girlfriend and all. Like if you want me to be serious, he's not doing anything weird. >> Um >> yeah. Okay. Um so yesterday was just you laying your head in her lap. Um >> what were you guys talking about? >> Like nothing basically. >> Okay. Have you ever come back in? Thank you. Um, so she What do you guys talk about on Discord? >> We literally just play games. That's it. >> Okay. And you talk. Is it like an everyday thing or how often? >> Every day. >> How often would you say? >> Like I don't know. Like every two days or something? >> Okay. >> But like it's, you know, we like just play games. >> Okay. Um, do you have any questions that you want? Is your mom really shocked to her? >> Uh, no. She probably wouldn't care. >> You don't think she would care? >> No. I mean, like nowadays it's not really weird cuz if it was someone else online, you know, and I didn't know them IRL, y'all wouldn't care, of course. So, it's like all I'm trying to say is it's not that weird nowadays, you know. >> But you know that she wasn't supposed to talk to you on Discord, right? >> Okay. >> But I'm asking, did you know that? Okay. Okay. >> All right. So, she doesn't touch you in a way that you think's inappropriate. >> No. >> Okay. >> So, you just have like an what you perceive to be an innocent relationship. >> I know you're trying to make it seem like >> No, I'm not. I want >> No, you're I'm being serious. You are. You're over here like, "Oh, she's doing all this." She's really not. Like, I'm the one who asked for her Discord. Like, that's all me. She, [music] you know, she's just being nice. It's whatever. It's whatever. She does not like kids or anything like that. I can like affirm to you it's not that weird. Like there's other teachers here who we get who do all the same stuff and don't get in trouble, you know? Like she got in trouble for cursing or something the other day. That's that's crazy to me because she's new. I know. But that's a normal thing. Like y'all probably curse too, don't you? At this point, huge red flags began to appear. The way the boy was defending the teacher was anything but normal, and the officer could sense that something was completely wrong. The boy also claimed that his parents wouldn't care about him communicating with his teacher that way, insisting it was something normal, but that story quickly fell apart. After questioning the victim, the boy's mother arrived at the school, and the officer was able to obtain the father's phone number and explain what was happening. His reaction, however, didn't align with anything the boy [music] had claimed. >> Okay, let me let me get into the conference room here so it's quieter. Okay. Yeah. So, you are >> I have I have I have custody. >> Perfect. >> At point am I going to have phone when I get home today computer? What should I do with this computer? Should I delete stuff if I find her on it or should I keep it? So, the first thing I was going to ask and and so how much of what you know is going on like >> Well, I know what my daughter just told me is that a teacher is playing games with him >> and you guys think that he that she was trying to groom him or some crap like that, >> right? >> I just heard from my daughter. That's exactly what I know about what's going on. >> So, I'll give you the the the basic rundown of what we have. So, several students reported that they walked into a classroom and they saw him with his head laying in the lap of a 25-year-old uh substitute teacher and she was massaging his head. Um, he was in that classroom all day. He never changed class periods and he doesn't even have that class period. Uh, he was he was called in there specifically or went there specifically for her. Um, >> okay. >> He's been messaging her on an app called Discord that we know of for quite some time. Um, >> off the phone. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Um, so, uh, I'm writing it up. He he didn't make any disclosure of anything to me, but it it, uh, just the way he was defending her, um, it, you know, and I've been doing this for 12 years. It it it's suspicious. um just the the fact that he was defending her, saying that she's not a you know, it's not like that. Um it it's very it it's very it says relationship to me. Um and which he'd be the victim of. I'm not saying he's in trouble or anything like that. [music] Um >> this is not even this is not even like him, >> right? Yeah. >> Play with an adult online. He knows better, >> right? >> Cuz I'm like I'm like a computer geek and I don't want to go through his computer like a maniac. The father's reaction didn't match what the boy had claimed earlier that day. He had insisted his father wouldn't care. Yet, there he was, nearly passing out on the phone as he listened to what the officer was saying. Being told by an officer [music] that his son had been communicating with his substitute teacher would make any father desperate. And in this case, it was no different. Well, that that brings me to the next point. So, I just talked to I'm obviously writing up a case um and it's going to be forwarded to our crimes division. Uh, and the detective told me to ask you if you guys are willing for us to [music] um collect the phone, his phone, and um do a consent to search form uh where they will open the Discord and see what they can find. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Take take us home. >> You come here and take his computer. >> Okay. Um >> you you come here and you can have his freaking computer and I'm I'm about ready to take it all away from him right now. >> Right. No, I understand. >> He's going to be lucky if I ever want it on a computer again. It's funny because when we were talking to him, he said uh that his parents or you guys don't know that he's talking to a teacher, but you probably wouldn't care. >> Oh, [ __ ] >> He said that about me. >> He didn't say that about me. >> I'm here with Dr. Austin, one of the assistant principles. Yeah, she was there when when he said that. >> No, he he didn't say that about me. He knows better than to say that about me. So, >> I've already had discussions with him about who he talks to online, who he doesn't give his name to online, his real address online. I've already given these these speeches. >> Yep. >> You know, I've given him all these speeches and I told him, if I ever catch you doing it, I'll take it all away. >> Right. >> So, he's full of He knows damn well that he don't play that game with me. >> Yeah. >> And he's lying to he's lying to all of you >> regardless. Maybe his grandmother. Maybe his grandmother. Yeah, his grandfather. No way. >> Like he's not good with me. Not at all. >> Regardless, he would be the victim. Um obviously this teacher is our is a suspect um in in a potential crime. Um not to mention the fact that we believe that she's also messaging other students. Um so is there >> 25. So is there any way >> she what is she doing in middle school teaching kids? You know, it's it's questions that we all have. Um they I I don't know why why do they let 19-year-olds be cops? You know, it's >> a matter of I don't know that either. And [laughter] they're not ready to do that either. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> 19-year-old should not be a cop, >> right? They don't have the freaking world views to be a cop. >> Yeah. >> After speaking with the father, the officer was able to obtain a search warrant for the boy's phone and went straight to collect it with the angry father still on the line. >> So, real quick, do you have your phone on you? >> Yeah. >> Perfect. I'm going to take that. Um, I'm on >> I'm going to have the phone. Okay. So, um, basically we're collecting it. Um, and they're just going to do a a search of the phone. >> So, >> and I'm taking his computer. You can tell. >> Okay. So, you're on speaker. >> Yeah. >> I'm taking until the cops come, get it, and they look at it. >> Okay. >> Because I'm not going crazy finding this woman on your computer. I'm just pissed off that you even talked to an adult on the computer. Me and you have spoken about this before. >> We don't give our names to people on the computer. We don't talk to adults on the computer. We don't give our address to nobody on the computer. You don't do that crap. You and me have spoke about this before. >> What is the matter with you, son? >> Um >> I'm taking I'm taking your computer. So when you come >> at this stage of the investigation, the officer had full access to the boy's phone and what he discovered there completely changed the course of the case. While the boy claimed that he and the teacher only played games together, the messages told a very different story. Inside the phone were photos and videos of Torres, explicit images of the victim, adult conversations, drawings created by Torres, messages in which she acknowledged he was a minor, discussions about hiding the relationship until he turned 18, affectionate names such as Pooky and Love, and even [music] a photo of Torres with the victim's name written on her thigh. What initially appeared to be a strange interaction between a teacher and a censored was in reality a grooming case that had been unfolding [music] over several months. After uncovering this disturbing evidence, Torres was brought into the interrogation room to be confronted by investigators, but her behavior only made the situation even worse. >> Why did you leave in February? >> Um, well, basically it's because of an incident that happened at school. Um, and essentially I had a child um, lay their head on my lap and obviously it was against to many other things. So I got >> in trouble for that and that's fine. And then they basically contacted me, [music] asked for my information and then told me that they were going to open a DCF case. >> Okay. >> Um, I didn't know that DCF stood for Department of Children and Families. Um, it's new cuz they open in Philadelphia. They call us something like completely different >> like CPS or something. >> CPS. Yeah. So, I didn't know. I was like, "Okay, no problem." And that's basically the gist of it. Okay. >> Um, were you contacted by DCF or? >> Um, no. This I [music] You guys came today. This was the very first time I've been like contacted by anybody regarding Yeah. Yeah. Cuz I I was expecting they're like, "You're going to get a letter and you're going to get arrested." And I was like, "Okay." And I've just been waiting basically. >> Okay. [music] Why would you get arrested? Um because I was having contact with like the students in class. Um they found my this [music] discord. >> Okay. >> Um and they also found my social media and stuff like that and some of them were contacting me mostly to ask me to draw them stuff cuz they knew that I draw. So I would just send them like art and stuff like that. >> Okay. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Um so this incident at the school um you said you had a child sitting in your lap or laying in your lap. Tell me about that. >> He was he laid his head on my lap. My He had a headache, but then he laid his head on my lap and then I just kind of left him there. Okay. Um wasn't sure what to do, but um I told him to get off after a while, but um it was in a class full of students, so obviously they were going to tell the >> Okay. Was it like during class or >> Well, during class. Okay. >> Is this one of your students? um was I don't but um yeah I mean >> from what I know they said that they have footage and everything so I was like okay well you guys have the footage so you have everything >> um regarding that incident. >> Yeah, >> that was basically the biggest thing that that got me fired this video. So got >> Torres remained calm during the interrogation, speaking about the case as if it were something casual or at least trying to act as though it wasn't a big deal. As the questioning continued, however, things began to grow even more bizarre. Um, so obviously, you know, I have the messages from Discord, stuff like that. >> Um, and I know you guys are talking about like hickeys, stuff like that. Tell me about those. >> Um, those are mainly just like we go back and forth and talk about the ideas of it. Obviously, he's giving me some. Obviously, I've given him some, which is why I mentioned the neck part. >> Yeah. Okay. So, that's what you're talking about. The neck, even like kicking bruises. Okay. >> Those are mainly like the thing. >> Okay. Mhm. >> How many times have you guys hung out? I know you said once earlier, but how many times in real life? >> If I had to like count like count count like maybe three three times max cuz I'm not really allowed to drive my mom's car. >> And she was like, "If you're going to take the car to do errands, that's fine." And then I usually do my errands and then if I have time, I go >> Yeah. >> Mhm. But not all the time. Maybe three times. >> Maybe three times. >> At least. At least >> at least. >> From the top of my head. >> Where do you guys normally go? >> Well, we go to a hiking trail. We get out the car. We actually go hiking and then we go back to the car. >> Yeah. We sit there, we talk to each other, then we get Wallace. You usually take the wall. >> Yeah. No, I believe you. Like I said, I don't think you're lying on that. I just know that we missed some stuff in the in the middle of that. >> Um, what hiking trail do you guys go on? >> No. 40 49th Trail, something like that. >> Okay. Down there by like 44 Marin Oaks area. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Cuz that's where you live. Is that where he lives too? Somewhere in that area? >> Yeah, he lives like in the opposite direction of where I live. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. >> Any like videos that you guys have sent each other? >> Probably I've sent like maybe one or two. I don't remember what the contents are, but I know I've sent them. >> Okay. What would what would be in there like normally? >> Um, >> if you can guess what you would have sent him in a video, >> probably the same thing. Same content. >> Okay. >> So, >> Okay. So, you sent him videos of you m >> Mhm. >> Okay. Has he sent anything like that back to you? >> Not any videos. >> Okay. So, you don't have any videos on your phone? No, not at all. >> Okay. >> According to Torres, she not only met the victim outside [music] of school, but also sent him deeply disturbing videos. She spoke about the events in a disturbingly casual manner, revealing that something was deeply wrong with her. Nothing could undo what had happened to the boy, but at least his predator [music] had finally been caught. >> And all this started within the last month. >> Yeah. >> Okay. When you guys started like dating, what you would call it? >> Last month. Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Um, anything past the kissing that happened when you guys have hung out at all? >> [clears throat] >> Okay. Nothing. I know you said you're still virgin, so you guys have >> No, I'm too scared to ask. >> Okay. Is there like a reason for that or >> like a reason why you guys didn't >> Oh, I I just don't want to have >> any. >> And like also like I have like bad immune system so I don't want to accidentally end up passing out. >> Gotcha. Okay. Okay. You're feeling okay right now though? >> Yeah, I'm want you to pass out on me. >> Yeah. I have like bad anemia. So, >> okay. It's It's chilling though. Um, but yeah, it's like like I said, like you were saying, yeah, we've touched each other each other. You'll probably, like I said, you have to disc messages and stuff, so you'll see that we talk about like pegging, which is just essentially we just made mad jokes about him half the time. It's just a lot of I'm going to peg you. Oh, okay. Bet. I'm going to peg you. Oh, okay. Bet. That's >> exactly what's actually happened in that sense. >> We like we like talk about it, but I'm just like it's like very jokingly like he knows there's a fine line. Gotcha. >> Okay. Um I know there was some text and I'm trying to remember um about like some like breathing through your nose, some deep throating, things like that. Um is that something that happened when you guys hung out? >> Oh yeah. >> Okay. So you performed >> Okay. Um did that happen one time? More than one time? >> Two times. >> Two times. Okay. Um, did he ever perform like the actback on you? Did he ever Okay. >> No, he has not put any He hasn't given me He hasn't like touched my insides. He hasn't He has given me hickeys and he's like bitten me like crazy, but I don't like actually performed the same acts on me. >> Okay. >> And I'm not going to lie, that kind that the idea of it kind of hurts in my head. So, you know, thanks. >> Okay. So, that's >> He always asks and I'm like absolutely not. >> Okay. >> So, that hasn't happened. It's just something that you guys kind of talk about. >> Okay. >> Okay. Um, so you've you've he hasn't done anything to you? >> No. >> Have you done anything else like him or like touched his >> Mhm. >> Okay. With what? Your hand. Okay. >> At this point, the investigation reached its peak. Before Torres's account, the case was already disturbing, but it appeared that nothing physical had happened. Now, however, everything was different and the case had reached its darkest point, revealing just how serious it truly was. And despite Torres claiming that nothing serious had occurred, the victim later admitted that they had intercourse multiple times. >> How many times has that happened? >> Maybe one time. >> One time for sure. >> Okay. It's always these times where you pick them up, you get a wall, you go to the trail head. All these happen at the trail head. >> Um >> the the trail Well, yeah, actually. Yeah, the trail head cuz I don't I don't really go anywhere else. >> Okay. Are you guys like parked in the car at the trail head or you guys just off on the trail kind of? >> Sometimes we go off on the trail, sometimes no.
