You're going to come with me to my car. >> Step inside. >> Step out of the vehicle for me. >> Police officers are trained to remain professional. But what happens when temptation challenges everything they were taught to resist? >> Oh god. >> There were moments when officers got tempted hard and couldn't resist. We begin with the case of a police body cam capturing something no one expected inside an elementary school classroom. >> My daughter, that can be our little secret. >> Yeah. >> You got to go. I'll see you tomorrow then. >> You want to save me tomorrow? >> Oh god. >> On August 29th, 2024, officers from Tennessee opened an investigation after D officer Brian Gilly's body cam captured unusual activity inside teacher Shelby Moss' classroom during school hours. What officers discovered next would change everything. >> We can look for it. >> Say yes. >> Hi. She supposedly that's Hinsley's favorite pervert. Yes, she >> she told me yesterday at the gossip table that I'm a little bit cooler but we can't tell officer Henley. I was like telling that is he telling her one day she was at lunch in my open and she was like what's my favorite officer doing? And I was like, "Oh." He said, "Look at her to say that again." And I really said he was like, "Oh, now that's my right. She's got my back." And I was like, >> "Okay." >> Yeah. Cuz she fistbumped me in front of him and he got so mad. And so the next day she completely ignored me. So then yesterday she told me she was he told me I had to ignore you, but >> you're you're a little cooler. I was like, "Okay." I was like, "That can be our secret." >> I I told her that can be our little secret. Yeah. >> Have to go. >> Yeah, you do got to go. >> You got to get to your appointment. >> Huh? >> You got to get to your appointment. >> I could wait a few minutes, but >> you got to go. >> Uhhuh. >> You got to go. I'll see you tomorrow, though. Oh god. Oh yeah. All right. I'll see you tomorrow. In the end, the investigation led to another discovery. In September, Brian and Shelby had engaged in inappropriate conduct on school grounds while students were still on campus. Brian was removed from his position while Shelby was suspended. She later resigned from the school district. However, because she worked at a public school, her case remained under review for possible further disciplinary action. [music] Up next, a suspicious phone call from an inmate would lead investigators to an unexpected discovery. >> He's trading. These images were shared from this account with other users, which tells us that he's almost certainly trading it online. >> I don't understand why this lag. What happened? On March 26th, 2025, investigators began analyzing an anonymous user's activity across social media platforms and websites after noticing a series of unusual actions. Their investigation eventually led them to a Wi-Fi pin connected to a nearby residence, but they had no idea who was behind the account or the shock that discovery would bring. >> Want to talk inside? Are your kids home right now? >> My daughter is. Yes. So, so >> can I have details or what? >> Yeah, I mean I'll be very first of all, do you have any idea who might be doing that here? No, that's him. >> What kind of phone is he? >> You know what kind of >> I don't even know. I don't have the my >> So when we get these uh tips, we do a lot of background work information. >> Uh what kind of email is this cyber? >> It's an app. It's a messaging app. Um we got cyber tip information on user accounts and everything. So the username I have multiple accounts all username is 39 piece of street.com and we know the device that has been trained >> maybe I don't even know I have to look at my phone record I don't >> looks like most of this activity has happened over here going through electronics uh anything other devices. >> I mean, I work from home, so I have my computer, which is the VA computer, but you have to be on my computer. Like, I have my computer, my phone, and my kids at home. It's not. >> So, what I'll be doing is I've got some software can run on your computer and it'll just quickly check to see if anything gets flagged. And we can do that with most of the devices. >> So, you're saying, this is one of his pictures right here. >> Is that he's he's the targeted search warrant. He's on his vehicle in the house. I mean, I don't really >> Yeah, >> I'm just kind of shocked right now. I didn't really expect any on you guys. Not that it's like I'm I'm just a little upset, I guess. >> My daughter's home and I don't know. I mean, I guess obviously you guys have >> uh Does he ever let me use his phone or >> I mean, I don't really use his phone. I have my own phone. >> Yeah, >> I don't really use his phone. >> Honestly, I don't even know if there's a password on it. I don't really get out of it, so I don't really >> Upon arrival, investigators discovered that the residents belonged to an officer from their own department. He was on duty, so his wife answered the door. She had no idea that the investigator's arrival was about to expose something far more serious. >> So, what does this entail then? So, when you guys do this, well, I'm guessing I guess I want to know like you've actually found something or you would just ask me. I guess that's my I'm not >> there's a lot of guess work here but with the information we have so far but obviously you know we know what made device is doing this we know on account everything very clear was decreased at this point um we still do not expect anything you guys are saying like that's what I'm >> and I understand a lot of times people need to share information about that so we do have some concerns to see money to get to the house. >> Um, >> the electronics were to go through and issue stuff here. >> So, this comes from a tip from somebody else or this one that you guys >> This came from the electronic service provider, this kick messenger service. >> Okay. >> So, uh, when they detect the stuff on their servers, uh, they flag it and they send the account information to the law enforcement. >> Mhm. and eventually. >> Okay. >> Uh, by the time I get there's always been already been subpoenas done for most of the accounts involved. So, we know the FK for came back here, you know, the Yahoo account. >> So, I guess I'm a little That's why I'm wondering if like it's something you actually have seen or if it's just like something that with a tip, but it's not like really like is there actual like like do you have actual >> It's facts, but yes. Yes. >> Yeah. Even more than I've told you so far. Ace of spades. username, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the home Wi-Fi. It doesn't leave a lot of narrows down. >> Yeah. And right now, I assume he took his phone with me to work and they're going to be going through. >> Okay. I mean, >> it's okay. If you need to sit down, that's fine. >> Uh, do you want do you want to go inside with Sure. The shocking reality left the officer's wife shaken, creating an even more tense atmosphere inside the home as the investigation unfolded. >> I don't even know what it's going to add to the whole thing. I don't know if I >> hopefully not we're looking to rule out any engagement of them in the process as well as >> and I didn't want to get to that. I wanted to talk to you about that, but I wanted to make sure you were good. And >> I don't even know. Go ahead. I mean, I don't I don't know. >> I'm just waiting for the answer. How long I mean, how long has this been? >> This information is quite new. We just learned about it uh last week. The activity goes back for some time. >> Like how long sometime? >> I know the account's been open since at least June of last year. Around that time. >> Okay. I just logged off if I could travel. I don't know. At this point, I don't even care cuz my whole life is probably not helping everything. >> So, that's my question. Do you have reason to leave? Uh, is there any time was along with her or she would tell you that or >> Yeah, he's with both my kids all the time and he's amazing with them. They absolutely love him to death, but there's nothing that would make me believe anything like at all. Like there's no concern at all for me honestly. >> You could probably talk to her in her room and just >> her room is right here. But I got to get the dog away. I'm not going to bite you guys. >> Big dog, right? >> He's small right now. No, he's small. >> Hey, have proof. I don't want to say proof, but evidence. >> So, what happens? >> Assuming we find what we expect to find on the phone. >> There's no right now. He's going to be on the leash. >> The gravity of the situation was becoming impossible to overlook, but what lay ahead remained uncertain and the tension was only beginning to mount. >> My question like how I don't know if you can answer that. >> It's a phone in overcharge. >> Is he talking to somebody or is it just picture? like what what I guess >> what we know at this point is he he's trading these images were shared from this account with other users which tells us that he's almost certainly trading it um online. Sounds like they're searching right now. You can join them on Salt. >> Does he have a laptop or personal computer? >> Does he have no phone in the house anymore? Not to my knowledge, though. You >> know, a lot of people just take their phones from the drunk drawers. >> Yeah, it's not to my knowledge. I don't even know. >> I know this is like a lot at once, but if you have any questions, we're open to >> I know she's not faking and I get it. >> I just don't want this to come back to her [laughter] in the family court thing. And that's that's my big thing right now. >> What I can tell you right now is [laughter] it's two completely different ends of spectrum. Yeah, they kind of overlap, but you got to take it as Yeah, you got to take it as individual battles right now, though, because right now this has nothing to do with you, right? >> So, you kind of got >> my house and this isn't his name and I my kids live here, >> but just because something someone's doing something online doesn't mean things don't work out in the future. And I know it's completely up to you in that regard, but from my experience with this, this isn't the end of an end, you know. No, >> there's therapy. There's other things that get involved. >> Well, what what I'm trying to say is I know it's like an end. Okay. >> If you guys just want to maybe shift, I don't want >> you want to go. >> I'll do it real quick. Either way, >> I didn't know what way you wanted to go. >> At this point, the situation had escalated far beyond what anyone expected just minutes earlier. What once seemed unthinkable was now becoming a reality for everyone involved. >> Clearly, you go have a job anywhere. >> No, definitely not. I'm just going to give you a quick update. I'm not trying to answer anything. >> Yeah, >> he's already admitted to this. I just call in just right through. Let me move out of the way. >> You know, I'm looking at another her >> and I will say this. I've never had anything bad say he's >> and he's been trying to >> I'm sure he'll try to use this. See that's why I was saying I want to look out and I know she's right here. >> I think it's smart of you to take that. >> Oh, she's here but I'm here >> but and I get why. >> I'm not saying he can't be around us. >> Yeah, we understand Charlie and it makes sense to make that arrangement to take that. >> I just Well, like I said, I I'm thinking stop Oak or Onyx, whichever one you are. >> Hundreds of hundreds of >> That's the hardest thing is they absolutely love him. like he's so good with them. Like other than this, like he is so supportive of them. >> Everything he said, they both said to me, was that they love hanging out with him. They love fishing with him. In fact, the fishing came up the most. >> He's so supportive of him. I don't understand. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS why what happened. >> Take it. This computer's administratively locked by company, >> the VA. So, it's I can't >> Okay. So, I can't turn on fire suppression. I can't get into like anything on that computer. It's all completely >> Does he ever use it? >> No, nobody [clears throat] can touch that besides me. >> Okay. >> I have a PIV card and all that. Nobody can get into that for >> You have a card for access? >> Yeah, [laughter] but it's like pinned and stuck. Like it's not Nobody knows my pen and they can't do anything on it anyway. You can't get on anything. Okay. >> What on his cell phone? Does he use like [music] video game at all or anything like that? Um, the [laughter] Xbox said on occasion they play the Xbox together. >> Does he play by himself at all? >> No, I think he always >> We're not going to take the >> While the suspect's wife struggled to process what had happened, the investigation uncovered new details that made the case even more horrifying. >> I mean, I see them put on my TV upstairs. >> Was she an excuse to upgrade to the >> Don't give me the idea. >> I need an excuse. No, I did. [laughter] >> Me, too. I've already replaced the CD. You know what I mean? Can [laughter] I do it again? >> Go through their bedroom. See if there's no phone or anything. >> Wise is almost right. Okay, [laughter] I'll go. I'll go. >> We can be pretty brief with this. >> I don't understand at all. At all. Like, I don't get it. [sighs] >> I wish we could say I did, too. >> Have they already finished talking to him? >> No. >> No. That'll be a little bit [laughter] very long conversation with him, >> I'm sure. And he's either way, he's going to be there until at least 9:00 when we have arrangements. >> I really don't understand other than starting that job, which I know like a lot. You know what I mean? That's a lot. Obviously, you guys did that every day. I'm not saying you don't, but I'm just saying other than that, I don't know what one have why. Like, I just don't understand why. >> Unfortunately, I think there's only one person who might have the answer to that. >> I just wish I could talk to it. In the past, does he ever issue or anything like that? >> No. >> No concerns like that. >> You know, when I been with him for 6 years and I don't I honestly cannot say that I would expect it and where it would stem from. Like I don't understand any of that. >> Yeah. And I can't say [clears throat] for sure when it started that answer. >> I don't know. I can't even like say like that I could see it or like that when you mention that like nothing comes to mind that would even make me think for one second. >> As the inquiry advanced, officers braced for the next phase of the case. But what no one in the room knew was that the situation was already approaching a critical turning point. >> You have a phone. >> Yes, you have a phone. Yes. >> May I see your phone? >> What's the code again? >> It's Dixie. Dixie [laughter] D. >> Of course, I don't know how much I even really trust the kid at my nose to go to his phone. >> Who's Dixie? >> Dog. >> Top right. >> I want to look at all the >> all the apps. So, like keep swiping this way and then search through there. >> Cap court. What time? >> Cap court. Uh the f it starts at 5:30. That's usually like people who are issued like tickets start at 5:30 and then they do everyone who's arrested during the day after that. >> I'm just worried about the judge getting either way if I have to get them to the dinner. >> So my god. >> So you can go. You can go. I mean we can be there. >> So I get to talk to him. >> No, not necessarily. No. There are rules when they're in there. >> I Yeah, I just try to dig out. >> I wrote my number on the back of his car that goes right to my desk. Okay. >> And like I said, you call him like if he doesn't answer, you can call me cuz I'm there usually during the day. >> I can relay any message to him and make sure he calls you. You can leave him a message, he'll call you. >> Uh, okay. So, he's one of us. All right. >> I'll call you when we know about the vehicle. He should be able to call you after his arignment. But if somebody wants to be there at 6 to see him get arranged to see if he gets held or not, uh, you can do that cuz that's open to the public. >> If he doesn't get held, he can leave. >> Yes. If he gets released on his own recgnissance, then he'll be able to walk out the door. >> And if with this offense, the judge has the option of saying, >> and of course, I would also, as much as even though I talked to the kids, I would hear on the side of, look, he's going to come back here and he's going to be with the kids. >> I'm going to either way he >> Okay. The woman appeared increasingly shaken, struggling to process what was happening. Her greatest concern was now her children and how deeply the unfolding allegations could affect them. >> I would be cautious. >> Okay. >> Okay. I would air on that side. >> So, >> it's not easy whenever they get flipped around. >> I know my world is just like >> I don't even know. I just feel like my whole life and everything that I've felt for the last six years and like moving forward like the house, our vehicles, like our life. I just feel like I don't even know. I feel like it's >> I don't even have the answer for me. I just keep saying that because I just really don't understand it. >> [laughter] >> And I felt like okay like I like I truly do not understand it at all. >> I told you I don't know nearly as little as you did. His background [gasps] never saw us. >> He is the most amazing person. I know it doesn't sound like it. He truly is an amazing person to them and supports them and myself and has done so much for me and them like just being there supporting all their events and things like that. Like just last night we went to her honor society induction. >> He helps hell managers at some point. So >> there is like sometimes kids aren't ready to say stuff. I want you to know that and >> talk to them and it may open up to you more. Like if something is to come up about this that's >> more heinous more heinous than what we think then please call. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Um, we're savvy already. Yes. >> I don't have anything. I don't know right now. I don't know. >> All right. We're going to get help. >> All right. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Your phone's right here. >> Okay. Somebody will call me. All right. >> Yeah. >> They're going to call you. >> If you if I don't answer, you'll call me back. >> A message. >> Okay. >> With the evidence collected, officers were left with few doubts about the allegations surrounding the officer. The consequences of his actions were about to become clear. >> Where's your cell phone? The pocket? >> I don't reach for it, please. >> Which Which pocket's it in, buddy? >> This top one or your pants pocket? Okay. This one? >> I'm just going to grab it really quick. Okay. >> So, we don't make a scene. You want to come up to the office with us? >> All right. Come on. Should we pop off that? >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> Got no knives, weapons, nothing on you, right? Nothing around supposed to have. Okay. >> Make sure keys are in there. >> Take this stuff off. Anything else in the pockets? >> Okay. All right. Is that it? >> Nothing else, son. Yeah. >> All right. Come on. In the end, the suspect was charged with multiple felony related charges and alleged unlawful online activity. Next, an investigation into the distribution of illegal videos involving young individuals led detectives to a discovery no one inside the department expected. >> He's got warrants. >> Warrants for what? >> Children. I believe 12 of a minor, I think it was. On June 11th, 2026, officers from Penllis County, Florida, responded to a report from a young student involved with the Young Marines. She reported possibly being in contact with an older man. For months, investigators searched for evidence, but the trail was leading somewhere much closer than they realized. Clear. >> What's his name? >> Get an idea. I just grabbed it out the car. It's upstairs. >> You got your phone on you? >> No, it's in the car. >> Yeah, he's got warrants. >> Warrants for what? >> Uh, we're good to tell her what I mean for >> Oh, children. >> What children? Who? What? >> It's not our investigation. >> It's probably why he was placed on investigation from the department. >> How do you say your first name? >> A he's on medication. I'm finding >> 46 counts of I believe >> 48 >> 46 I believe and 12 of a minor I think it was. >> What's your last name? >> The suspect was identified as 44year-old Chad Essert, a police chief from a small town in Ohio. Investigators discovered that he was vacationing in Florida with his wife when the arrest warrant was issued. But his wife was about to learn the reason behind it, and nothing could have prepared her for what came next. >> You want to sit down here? >> Is this here? Sit right here. Sit down for a minute. Grab a seat. It's all good. >> Take a seat for a minute. What's your last name? >> We got to get some information from you. >> If you if you've got your purse in there, grab it [laughter] off there. >> Do you understand the charges that he's got and what's going on? >> What what what are they? >> I don't have the I don't have the background information on those. >> You You don't know the RE center, but like >> I don't know. >> Been at them for 8 years. Never never expected anything [snorts] expected anything like that. So sick. >> I can unfortunately tell you that I work a lot of these cases with incidents like this that they surround themselves with their loved ones. They never know typically. [laughter] So that's that's just the way these cases unfortunately work. But with all that being said, he's got those charges. He's going to be extradited back to Ohio to answer for those. >> What? What? What court? What county? >> I'm not sure what county. It'll probably It will be the location where the crimes originated at. So, I would imagine it's going to be your home county. However, that is me just making an assumption. So, take that for what it is. Okay. In the end, Chad Essert was charged with 70 accusations involving illegal actions involving a young individual. Up next, when officers opened an investigation after a correctional officer was seen delivering food to an inmate, but the case would soon unfold into something [music] far more serious. >> I didn't do anything wrong cuz somebody else did it. Another SEO did it. She said, "I'm coming to you." So, she walked to my car, gave me the plate, and left, and I left. >> Attempting to bring in contraband into an imprisonment, like a prison facility. On September 17th, 2024, officers at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New Mexico noticed a correctional officer attempting to sneak a burrito to an inmate. The unusual interaction raised immediate concerns, but investigators would soon discover that there was much more beneath the surface. >> So, when he first came in in February, um he was he's been trying to talk to me, but I kept walking past this cell, ignoring him. And then that was only like one night I was doing graveyard. So I assumed that he got released and he said he did the first time. The second time I seen him was in Fox unit graveyard and he was still trying to talk to me and I did call medical cuz he had something about his pills for his gun. That's when he first when he second came in second time he came in and then I started I think the end of April made an echo unit. I don't remember when the first time I did echo one, but since then he was trying to talk to me like I said no. And then I don't know all the co's names, but a few months ago I did see a co give a be coffee beans. >> So I was like, "Oh, he's been here for long." And he didn't hide it. So one day I forgot what candy I gave Drain. I did give him like some candy. And then since then he's been saying like he's going to tell and I was thinking that I didn't do anything wrong cuz somebody else did it. Another CF did it. >> Mhm. And then um I guess it started from there cuz he keeps coming to my desk trying to um like talk me into things because of what I gave him. >> Mhm. And there are times where I do go to a cell and feel like I so if you I don't know if you can see any unit in it but I stand out a cell certain way like halfway in halfway out cuz I have my foot on the outside of the door. >> But the investigation did not stop with the officer identified as Siobhan Kulbra buying food for the inmate. Other interactions had caught officer's attention hinting at a deeper story still waiting to unfold. And then there's times where he tried like like do this the hand gesture to grab me in and he even says that I just want to pull you in here like no that's not going to happen. And there's times where he'll touch my arm and then I think maybe three or four times he did ask for the cream and I told him just go get it cuz I didn't have I think one or two times I didn't have gloves and I didn't want to touch it because the stick wasn't a part of the bottom brush. she have to like connect it and I didn't want to get my hands dirty and stuff because I don't know where they been or whatever and I think maybe the second or third time he was saying we've been at this uh we keep going to the college they going to think nothing and there has been times where there was water on the floor the last time I don't know the date so I'm assuming it's that date um Uh he did like kiss me and then he said that he's going to tell that I didn't do anything or we at the closet. I was I'm just trying to give you the broom and then he tried to unbuckle and I told him to stop. I pushed him away and then he kept coming towards me like at the door and then there was water and I wasn't trying to slip and then he uh was saying that well I kiss you. They're going like I kept getting paranoid because I didn't want anybody to like see me at the closet when I was doing [music] anything. So he he's the one that unbuckled and turned me around. I wasn't on top of him. I didn't do anything. He turned me around and did it from the back. And then he told me afterwards, "I told you that I was going to do it." >> At this point, officers intercepted the food before it reached the inmate. Yet, the discovery that followed would take the case in an unexpected direction. >> So, last night, he said that he wanted you to bring something in and I text her. >> You texted her >> to meet you. Do you need the location? >> Yeah, I'm just going to get I'm going to get everything down and then um I'll ask for all that. Okay. >> So, you texted her from the textmail number? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. And were you supposed to say anything? >> Uh I still have the text messages, but it said uh when I got off, I said, "Do you want me to know that it's me?" Yeah. >> I said, "Do you want me do you want DJ to meet with you or do you want to meet me?" >> His name is DJ. His nickname is DJ. So, she know him by DJ. >> Oh, Dwayne's name is DJ. DJ. >> Okay. >> And um you said it was wax that she gave you. >> Wax. >> Um what does that look like? Can you describe it to me? Uh she made she [music] made this like it's a um breakfast burrito. So it has eggs, bacon, and saucy I think in it. And she put the re I mean the wax and like a small tiny bag and it's wrapped up and it's underneath. It's in the burrito the top of >> it's in a >> It's in a bag. >> Well, yes, the laxes. >> Lexus. Okay. And then she put them in the fall into the burrito. >> And did you had to give her anything in return? >> No, she just uh I didn't know where she was, but I parked and she said, "I'm coming to you." So, she walked to my car, gave me the plate, and left. >> Officers asked Siobhan to hand over the phone she had used to communicate with the woman who delivered the burrito. Her reaction immediately raised new concerns. Yeah, pretty much what we what we're going to do is just um we just take like pictures as we go through and then we grab, you know, the burrito and everything and then we just take pictures as we leave and then that's pretty much it. Um do you have a phone number for her? >> It's in my phone. >> It's in your phone. Okay, we'll grab that then. Okay. >> Okay. Um yeah. Do you want to grab it and we'll go and grab it and come back? nothing can be uh like tampered with or deleted off of it. Um and then like I said, I will be >> so if I get a new phone, I can log into my other apps and then it'll come to the new phone or go to that. >> Um not too sure about it. I just don't want um like now that I have it I can't um how is it I can't like start logging out of things and stuff and I can't have you start logging out of things cuz then then it comes into question like oh what were we >> you know what I mean [music] like like tampering or logging like so >> so don't be in trouble if I'm talking to my friend's cousin cuz she >> no so the the whole reason I'm I'm taking the phone and everything. It's just the conversation on text now between you and his babe mama. I just want to have that and stuff like that. And since it's on the phone and everything, like I said, we pretty much take the phone and make a copy of it and then we tag this in evidence because like vice versa, if this was the other way around, like and you got a defense attorney and the defense attorney is like, "Oh, well, how do I know this wasn't like tampered with? How you didn't make this up?" It's like, "Well, this has been in evidence the whole time. No one's touched it." type of thing. So that's why you can't have it back right away. And then the reason we can't mess with it like right now is because again they can be like well you guys are sitting there for like two minutes like like logging out things like how do I know that you guys didn't? >> Siobhan then asked if one of the officers could accompany her to her home to inspect the food the woman had delivered. She appeared willing to prove she had no idea what was inside the package. But the request would soon raise even more questions. See if I can get >> So, would you follow me to the house or the apartment or would I ride with you or how would that work? >> So, what I'm going to I'm trying to get everyone's like every one of my partners is like super busy. Um I'm trying to get um someone to get over there. Um I'm also trying to get someone to like write the warrants and stuff. So, we don't want to like we don't want to go there like right now cuz we don't have any we don't have the whole process going right now. Um stuff like that. But of course, I don't have any service. Let me I will be right back. Okay. Let me see if I can get some here. Okay. So, I have to unravel these. So, you want to take a picture like that? >> All right. I'm gonna let the doggy off the leash. >> Don't let the doggy eat the >> bird. Not a very good one. >> You got one, buddy. >> Supposed to be THC. There it is. >> Come here. Come here. Hey. Hey. How do you do this? Huh? I got a ball. I got a ball. Hey, I got a ball. >> He's like, there's food over here, man. I don't care about that bowl. Okay, let's open that. >> Hey, something is like stuck in. It should be. >> Okay, there's nothing in this one, but you want to take a photo of that one. Did the dog need a beep? >> I don't know. >> Despite Siobhan's cooperation, the evidence had given officers reason to remain cautious. Whatever she hoped to accomplish, the situation was quickly closing in on her. >> All right, Siobhan, have they already talked to you and everything? >> Yes. >> Okay, so here's what's going to happen next. Okay, I'm going to need you to stand up. I need you to turn around this. You need anything else over here? No. Okay. What's more comfortable for you? >> You don't know. Okay. Straight away. Okay, let me see this one. How's that? >> That's fine. So, it's fine to right now. You are detained. Okay. You're not fit to leave. I'm going to be transporting you to our main PlayStation downtown. We still have a few more uh questions and everything for you down there. Okay. Okay. Protective custody. Yeah. They're going to they're probably going to keep you in the shoe until you're released. Okay. So, again, nothing in your pockets or anything. >> You okay? >> Okay. Are you okay? >> Do you have any like medical conditions or anything? >> No. Okay. Have a seat. >> Okay. and just have a seat real quick. >> Underneath it. >> Yeah, just go. Yeah, just slide right in. Yep. And then this goes over your shoulder. Go ahead. >> At this point, officers began laying out the evidence to Siobhan. For someone who worked in law enforcement, what came next would be a shocking reality check. >> Let me explain it to you. Okay. So, you're being placed under arrest right now for criminal penetration. Okay. >> Attempt. >> I'm sure your charges I'll talk to you. Okay. >> So, criminal penetration. >> Okay. attempt to commit a felony and they a felony is um attempting to bring in contraband into an imprisonment like a prison facility. So let me explain. Okay. So I understand what you're saying is that none of this was like consensual on your part that you know he you were scared and that he was going to report you and everything else like that. Okay. So I understand that aspect but again like and I'm sure it was explained to you in the academy cuz I went through the co academy. Okay, you're the CO. They're an inmate. Okay. Nothing in there is consensual. Nothing in there. You technically by state law are in position of power and authority over him. Okay. So, I understand what you're saying and that's going to be taken into account. Like every I'm not here just to jam you up. Okay. He's he's facing some type of consequences, too. Okay. Like you know what I'm saying? Like he was attempting to get you to bring something into the jail. He's that's just not going to go unanswered. Okay. So, um, that part's just going to take a little bit more time on my part. Okay. Um, so we're not saying that you actually did bring anything into the facility. What we're what that charge is is that, you know, you met up with this baby mama. You had the contraband like whether like I know you didn't bring it actually bring it and everything, but that's that charge. Okay. The DA I talked to the DA. Um, these can all be amended and stuff at a later time. That that's up to them. Okay. So, I'm just explaining what you're going to what you're going in for tonight. Okay. Do you have any questions? Okay. Go ahead and step out. We'll put these second pair of cuffs on your turn around. >> In the end, Chevon Colbreth was charged with an inappropriate relationship with an inmate and attempting to commit a crime by smuggling illegal substances into the correctional facility. Up next, when officers responded to a report about a woman's behavior at a convenience store, the situation took an unexpected turn. >> Don't say that right now because um everything's being recorded right now. >> All right, sir. Step out of the vehicle for me. I believe I just >> If she If she said if she said something and you said, "Hey, don't say that right now cuz it's recording." >> You remember that? >> I I She's I remember her saying something like, "Hey." On August 14th, officers in San Diego responded to a 7-Eleven for a stolen vehicle, leading to the arrest of two suspects. For officer Anthony Hair, this should have been a standard transport to jail. But the female suspect in the back of his cruiser had other plans, setting [music] the stage for a shocking series of choices that would unravel his life and career in a single night. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Thank you. >> Hey, why are you guys tripping on me? Hey, just listen to him. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Stay like that. >> Behind your back. >> Why you guys tripping like that? >> Listen to him. >> I can't hand behind your back. >> My name is Israel, boy. >> How you doing, >> man? A little kid. What the [ __ ] >> I'll explain everything to you, man. >> I know you going to explain everything. >> Just relax. All right. Cool. >> Roll to your side. >> Bend your knees. Ready? >> Take this one right here. >> No weapons or anything like that. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. All right. Go ahead and stand up for me. >> Yeah, maybe it's easy. >> Roll over first. Yeah, roll over. >> Get the other one. >> Yeah. Hold on one second. >> All right. >> Okay. We're just going to go to my car right here. Okay. With the suspect detained, officer hair confirms her warrant, but a seemingly innocent question about [music] her belongings sparks a personal conversation. This simple exchange would be the first step in a dangerous [music] dance leading to a compromise that would end his career. >> Hi, it's Officer Hair with San Diego Police Department. I'm just calling just to confirm a warning. >> Officer Hair Hir. >> All right. Uh, let me hold on one second. Let me get that for you. Sorry, my computer. >> All right. Okay. Yeah, it's confirmed. She's going to send over the um note the one she there. Um, that's it, right? That's all I'm looking for. >> Yep. Okay. Yeah. And then, um, in your actual report, >> do I need a do I need to ask for, you know, I mean, to do a search? >> Um, I don't have anything. >> I have nothing, bro. I have nothing. >> So, when they do their scanner and everything? >> All right. No. >> Before you go, man, before we go, is there anything in the car that you want? >> My purse or something? >> My >> or um my makeup? It's just my makeup. >> I need that for when I got a joke. >> What color is that? >> Um it's in a backpack. >> Okay. Back. >> Yes. >> But um I don't want everything in the I just want makeup. >> Just makeup. It has >> Okay. What else in there is yours? You >> have a phone or anything? >> But that was in my car, so that's fine. >> Um, I did a pad down, but >> uh when we drive over here or no, just straight to >> No, I don't think HQ. We got to do that. >> What's that? >> Yeah, I already The warrants already been sent over. >> You might find a female officer over there. Search. I did that one time. >> As the male suspect offered his flimsy story about being in the stolen car for a blanket, the scene was already set for a far more serious breach of protocol just a few feet away. >> So, you are going to jail tonight for a stolen vehicle? >> For what? >> Okay. >> How How did I go and steal a car? >> Okay. So, uh you guys saw me driving out of the parking lot at 7-Eleven. Okay. I'm driving by. I run the plate. It comes back. I stole it. >> I didn't I didn't drive no car. >> I see you guys walk inside. I wait till you guys come out and you don't even attempt to come back to the car. Okay, you attempt to walk away. I'm not I'm almost there. >> No, sorry. >> Okay. She asked me to get her makeup bag out of the car. I go and get her bag. I have to search it because she wants to get So, I search it inside. I find a prescription with your name on it. >> Yes. I That's her stuff. Listen, >> it's embarrassing. >> I told you my medicine that I have medicine. You said it was at your boy's house. >> Okay. But look, it's embarrassing to tell you that we wanted to get whatever was in that car. Bro, we went in that car. Yes, it was cold. She wanted aing blanket, dog. We had our stuff. We We didn't weren't planning on you guys stopping us or or seeing what we're going to get from that car. >> Okay, I'm going to move you over to my car and then we can talk more about this. All right, go ahead and stand up for me. >> Like, come on. It's embarrassing to say that, bro. Like, come on. You didn't see me driving the car. Officer Hair made his first critical mistake by placing the female suspect in his cruiser alone. This simple act of isolation was the first step down a path that would lead to the complete unraveling of his career. >> You're going to come with me to my car. So, let's go. >> He said you heard him. He said >> about asking me this way. Not even said he was going to ask me. What's the only mean one? >> I'm not mean, >> bro. No, you're the only once we get into the car. Okay. >> I got your >> Sorry for calling that, but >> I got your not your duffel bag. What? The drawstring bag. I got all of that. >> Your makeup. >> Not really. >> But it like that. I just go step inside. Go. I'm going to the screen a second. >> Perfect. Just a little bit more. I don't want to pinch your skin again. All right. I'm going to ask you a couple questions. >> All right. >> Here. Just Just listen up. You have the right to remain silent. If you give up the right to remain silent, anything you do say, can, and will be used in court against you. You have the right to speak with an attorney of your choice before questioning and to have the attorney present during questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you by the court prior to any questioning if you so desire. The attorney will not cost you anything. The services are free. Do you understand each of these rights that I have explained to you? >> Um, yes. >> Yes. Having in mind understanding your rights as I have told you, are you willing to talk to me? I can >> um I mean what if I were just >> guess or either you want to talk to me or you >> I don't I mean I have nothing to talk to you about but yes I'm I mean I'm I'm complying here. >> Thank you. >> The ride began with simple harmless conversation. Officer Hair transported the suspect to headquarters without any sign of the misconduct that would soon follow. >> What do you mean? I'm cool to you. >> Not bad. What is it going to hurt you if I were to say I don't know >> if I were >> south on several times. Do >> you have anything? You're right. Not so much. Not so much. better. >> You want to do that there? >> I can do the sushi later. >> Okay. >> Yeah, I'll do. But as they left headquarters for the final leg of the trip, the tone shifted completely. Officer Hair began asking the suspect about her dating life, crossing a clear and unprofessional line. Well, you're not. It's very >> Oh, no. So, so everything has to be >> Yeah. Yeah. >> It's not lost or anything. You just have to go pick it up after I run away. >> I already told you. >> Oh, I'm not there. >> Wait, hold on. >> I'll tell you after. Hold on a little bit. >> I can't hear you now. >> That unprofessional line was crossed completely when the suspect made a brazen proposition. Instead of refusing, Officer Hair's only reaction was to warn her the camera was recording. A clear signal of his intent moments before he reached over [music] and plunged the scene into darkness. >> Don't say that right now. I said don't say that right now cuz it says um everything's being recorded right now. Are you doing good back there? Are you doing good back there? You can call the address. You just arrive. >> What's going on? Check. Responding to a call for help, a supervisor arrived to rescue officer hair from a locked patrol car. But the officer wasn't in danger. He was the source of it, having willingly trapped himself with the female suspect. His claim that his body camera fell off was proven false, as it was later found securely mounted and fully functional by the internal affairs. All right, sir. Step out of the vehicle for me. >> Everything just went wrong. >> Okay, hold on. Hold on. Let me turn my camera off. >> She's code four. >> She's code four. >> Okay. Okay. Yeah. Let me turn this off real quick. Okay. Forced to explain himself, Officer Hair gave a theatrical performance for his superiors, acting out a ridiculous story of accidentally locking himself in the back seat. But his desperate attempt to explain an hour of missing footage was a flimsy lie that no one was buying. >> Hey, >> yeah, go ahead. >> Okay. Um so this open the door and then as I came in like that I you know I was trying to wake her up my feet wasn't this my feet didn't get cut like that and then when I was like waking her up that's when I noticed that this door closed on me and that's when I was like trying to trying to open the door but I know there's no there's no door opener and then and then yeah and then from then >> she was a um she was able to so I was like I was like this majority of the time I was trying to you to get her up cuz her face was right here. >> Okay. >> Right here. And then I was trying to like wake her up to get her up. And then next thing you know, I hear the door close on me. I was frantic. I was looking. And then she then that's when she started to kind of like I guess wake up or get dazed off, whatever. And then that's when I asked her like, "Hey, are you having a hard time breathing?" She said, "No." "Do you need medics?" "No." Like, "Okay, all right. Just just stay right there." And then that's when I was trying to open the door. >> Okay. >> And then that's when I went on D2. All right, you can jump up. Let's jump up. >> In the recording of his interview, you could hear the moment his story fell apart. He stumbled and contradicted himself when asked about the suspect's sexual comments, which suggested he had been aware [music] of the misconduct and was trying to protect his career. >> Explain to me, Tony, how is it that you got all the way into the car with her laying down it up? >> It was I was trying to um get her up cuz she she was a heavy girl. >> Okay. >> So, I was trying to like lift her up to sit her down. >> Okay. And then but yes it was a it was a tight squeeze in there. So then I think that's how somehow maybe my leg >> because that means that your your your torso your butt your legs and your feet [music] are completely inside the car. >> Yeah. I was kind of like I can I wish I could show you if you were in the patrol car but yeah I was I was in there. We'll do that in a little bit. You know, so you you got into the back of patrol car and then somehow through hitting the door, meaning when you kind of push it to open it, it kind of rebounds and close back on you. >> Correct. >> Is that what you're saying? You think >> I have problems with [music] your story, Tony? And I want to make sure if there was something that you forced your if she consented and said, "Hey, there's going to be I'll do this, you do that, you know, we can have a good time." there's a consent or [music] something. You forced yourself on her. >> She did not say anything like, "Hey, I do this for you. Let me go." She did not. And even if she did say something like that, I would I would I believe I just >> If she If she said if she said something and [music] you said, "Hey, don't say that right now cuz it's recording." >> Do you remember that? >> I I She's I remember her saying something like, "Hey, I'm on right now." Because what? >> I'm on what? I'm on what? What? What do you mean? >> Oh, like my my camera. I think I I mentioned cuz I don't know. There was one thing where she said um I don't know if it was like >> I don't know if it was talking with the family issue or whatever or she's asking if I was single, but that was the only thing was like, "Yeah, I'm just letting you know I'm recording right now." >> Mhm. >> That's it. But >> Okay. So, if she were to say something in a sexual um comment and you were to say something like, "Hey, don't say that right now. It's recording." Or it's, you know, whatever. You don't remember that you're saying cuz I just talked to you about all that and you said no, >> but I could tell you for a fact. >> No, I mean I I remember saying something like that that I'm on now that you mentioned it cuz I didn't say what did she say? >> That that I don't remember. I would have I would have to look at my my BWC again to to see what exactly she said. That I promise I don't remember what she said. >> Officers also questioned the female suspect and her statement shattered his entire story. She revealed he used a flimsy excuse to get in the back with her. >> He was like, "Um, well, what did he say? Something like he said, >> so are you single or you with your boyfriend, your boyfriend or something like that?" Like I don't know. I took it like I don't know how to take it. >> So he asked you if you were single. >> Yeah. I don't remember how how to take it. Kind of like laughed a bit off. I was just like I don't know. I don't know. I was just confused. What the heck? How I should ask that? I don't remember what words he was saying. I don't remember what we're talking about. I swear I don't remember what was said and I don't. But I do remember like um him um like he I think he might have used excuse just to come in to the back cuz he says he his excuse to come in the back because I mean it would have to happen that way cuz I don't know why he's like said I he thought I wasn't breathing right or something cuz um I was laying down and he said he came to really bad. This is what he was telling the officer after. And um I think he might have used the excuse to get back there with me, but he didn't want to stay. I mean, obviously he knows he didn't want to say anything that would get him in trouble. And so, um he opens the back door. He gets out, opens the back door, and then like he says that the door shut on him. [music] And I don't I don't know. I think it was just stupid. You said you believed he used that as an excuse to get into the back seat. What do you believe was the reason why he was getting in the back seat? >> I mean, it kind of is like only like it could only be like one other thing. Like why why else would anybody do that, you know? And um I don't know if um he was scared. I think he was scared like he knew he [ __ ] up and he was scared. And um I remember him um >> when he said he knew he [ __ ] up. >> He closed the door behind him on accident. >> Okay. >> Cuz and then I was like, "Oh my god." So I remember I was like, "What the fuck?" Like and he started panicking. He started he started panicking and he was like I don't know. He was being scared. He was like tripping out. And then um he called one of his friends or he called somebody. I don't know who or how, but he called another um officer and they came to open the door for him. >> And then um that was and then I went to the um to the hospital afterwards because when I got to ask, they said I um they sent me to the hospital and that was it. >> So did he make any sexual propositions at that tribe at all? Again, this is the one where you're going to >> Yeah, I know. No. Um, >> did you make any comments or special propositions to him during that transport? >> No. >> Does it say anything? I don't know. I don't think so. I don't I just not like to do that. So, >> okay. >> Um, do you remember engaging into conversations were in nature or some or some might think there was sexual in nature during that drive? >> What's that? >> What does that mean? Like if uh if you and him had a conversation and comments were made that someone might listening might interpret like were they talking about sex or was it >> oh no >> you know anything that someone might think >> think aboutual comments or sexual stuff like that. >> Okay. >> The internal investigation found officer hair guilty of gross misconduct lying about his sex conversation with the suspect and filing a false report. Facing certain termination, he was forced to resign from the San Diego Police Department. Next case, a female officer became entangled with an inmate, not knowing she was about to risk everything she had built in her career. >> What kind of conversations have you had with him since [music] you've started working here and he's been in the jail? >> Uh, you talk about how profound [music] this was, like this giving him this up was, but you like don't remember anything about anything about it. when y'all see each other in the jail again or whatever, like how did how [music] did how did it build to this to where y'all are talking almost 400 times? >> On April 15th, 2025, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office began noticing unusual behavior inside the detention facility. Surveillance cameras captured suspicious interactions between correctional officer Charlene Oan and inmate Jason Park. What initially appeared to be a routine contact soon raised serious concerns. >> Yeah. Yeah, that was before. >> Okay. >> But it was we never like had anything. It was just kind of like that. >> You gave him oral. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> But that was before like [music] I knew he would end up here or that I would end up here or anything like that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> What uh I know I'm [music] sorry to get in your business, but the allegations been made, so I want to have as much detail as I can >> to say either way. >> Mhm. >> So when do you think that was about I know it's going to be hard if it was a couple years ago, but >> um [music] let me think. I was I want to say like in the past 3 years [music] >> because I was in a seven-year relationship and that ended about three like 3 and 1/2 years ago and it was sometime after that. >> Okay. And can you kind of give me like more detail like where y'all met and uh things like that? Like how how did you come to know him and where this all happened at? Um, we just met through friends. I don't remember. I don't remember [clears throat] where we went. Trying to remember. Then we went to go eat somewhere. I don't know. He was with his friends [music] and like we just all kind of met up and he was with one of his friends. [music] >> You remember who the friend was? M. No, I don't remember. It was just like a group of friends that we all and then some friends brought other friends and other friends brought other friends. >> Do you remember any of your friends that were there? >> I think I was there with my friend Christy, which she lives in Dallas, and she came to Houston for like the weekend. Like it was like a long weekend. The interrogation officers were trying to determine [music] the true extent of the relationship between Charlene and Park, but one detail quickly raised red flags. Charlene repeatedly attempted to downplay and deflect the situation, often giving conflicting versions of the same events when questioned. Her inconsistencies made it clear that this interrogation would be anything but straightforward. >> What kind of conversations have you had with him since you've started working here and he's been in the jail? Uh, I don't know. Just talking about what would happen after he got out. >> Okay. And then the jail call recordings. Have you been talking to him like while you're at home? Like he calls you from the jail while you're at home or Okay. And how many how many calls do you think you all had together? No, several. I mean, I can't count them or anything like that. >> Okay. So, y'all talk pretty regularly. >> All right. [snorts] I haven't listened to this, but apparently there may [music] be some talk in the calls about like photographs. Have you given him any photographs? >> Mm- I gave him a photograph of his mom, which he had asked for, and of his [music] dog, Jack. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Have you given any photographs of you? >> No. Cuz we're not they, you know, I'll give any photographs of me and we shake things down. They they would find out, you know, they found. So, >> okay. So, what do you think that he's going to say about this? >> The same thing I told him. >> What do you mean the same thing you told? Like when I told you that we had something going on, you know, a few years back and he ended up here and I saw him and then I mean obviously like he already had my numbers. >> As one of the detectives referenced the analysis of the evidence, Charlene remained outwardly calm, carefully attempting to downplay the situation. However, in her effort to avoid direct answers, she let something slip, suddenly shifting the atmosphere in the room. What she had described as a simple friendship inside the jail appeared to extend beyond its walls. At that moment, detectives realized this was no longer just about bending the rules, but about something far more serious. >> So, one of the things we're going to be doing is like looking at cameras and stuff, too. Has there been any times where y'all were alone? >> Or you go out of camera view or anything like that? Anything that's going to look suspicious that way? >> I don't think so. >> No. I mean, when you work be quad? >> No. Even then? No. >> Okay. I mean, when I've entered the plot, I've always stayed like at the desk, you know. >> Have you escorted him anywhere or anything like that? >> Okay. And when was when did he go from bequa to pod six? I think it was a while back, maybe. I don't know. Honestly, it's been months. [music] He was in there and then he got taken out and then he went back. But I can't I don't recall how far back he was. >> It's been months though he's [music] been he went from be >> The officers connected the dots using information from earlier records. Park had briefly been released from custody and during that period he attempted to contact several people through social media. More importantly around the same time he returned to the facility and Charlene resumed her shifts. Unusual contact between the two was documented. This discovery became the first concrete indication that Charlene may have been withholding [music] key facts from investigators. >> Been months though he's been he went from Bquad back to >> All right. And then um this other number I think is this your number is 720798 >> 5415. Okay. >> Yes. >> So you have two different phone numbers or >> That's just from an app. >> Okay. >> Yeah. because I guess um he told me that I guess it was like if it was like an area out of area code it's like cheaper or something like that. So was just an app number. >> Okay. >> Yeah. It's just like a sideline number but it's just it's one phone. It's just that that number is from an app. >> Okay. What uh what app are you using? >> It's called Sideline. >> Okay. Now, what uh what [music] kind of phone do you have? >> An iPhone. >> An iPhone. Okay. Okay. Is that in your car? Is it on you or >> It's in my back. >> It's in your back. Is that like in a locker or something? >> Uh it's in the E quad. >> Okay. [snorts] >> Um give me just a few minutes if you're okay with that. I'm going step out for a second and then I'll be back in. Okay. Ask something before we step out here. So, he got your phone number from three [music] three and a half years ago. And he remembered it over three, three and a half years. >> Yeah. I mean, he's really close to his mom, so [music] he probably just got it from his mom and then he told me to upload a sideline number and then I uploaded a sideline number. >> Okay. How did he get the sideline number? Did you give it to him or did he like how did you come up with that number? >> Uh on [music] the app, you just select the number and then Yeah, get to him. >> Okay. >> We'll be back in just a minute. >> All right. Charlene sat quietly at the table, her movements slow and deliberate, projecting calm. But as questions hit on unexpected details, her composure began to falter. She froze mid gesture, eyes widening, struggling to answer quickly, pauses stretched awkwardly, and her usual confidence seemed to evaporate. The carefully constructed version of events she had relied on now wavered with every new revelation. >> Going to get the a recording of just the most recent call for us to listen to. Um, and kind of my intent behind that is I still don't feel like you're you're coming out with the whole thing. So, like I said, not trying to badger you or nothing. Like I said, not trying to badger you or nothing. Um, I just think that it's important that we know uh exactly what happened. So, initially you said you kind of like played it off like you hardly knew him. >> I mean, I didn't play like I knew him. I just >> like, "Oh, you kind of like stood there and thought, >> oh, right now, right now, Parker." Yeah, I think he's in pod six. >> But I just looked in the system. There's like almost 400 calls. >> So, between y'all. >> Yeah. >> You see, you see where I'm coming from? kind of how it would seem from my point of view. >> Yeah. I mean, yeah, it has to be a little bit, but [snorts] >> like said, no, no judgment here. I just want to know the truth. Let's see. I mean, I should just [snorts] >> So, before we go into all this, do you want to just >> I mean, >> tell me the truth. >> Yes. I hesitated to admit that. But, I mean, you told me on the call. >> Okay. because this sounds a certain way to this doesn't sound like a three-year thing. This sounds [music] like within the last few days to me, this call. I don't know if you remember what y'all talked about yesterday, but this sounds like a pretty recent event to me. >> Okay. I mean, like the conversation recent, >> like what happened and the conversation was recent. >> Okay. Well, I don't remember [music] what I remember. So like signs dementia. I always forget like what I did yesterday. But [snorts] yeah, I mean if I >> Charlene was running out of ways to escape the truth. The investigation had uncovered far more than she ever anticipated. Evidence that didn't stop at the walls of the facility as the weight of those discoveries settled in. It became clear that what had been hidden for so long was no longer confined to one place or one version of events. Okay, >> baby. >> Baby, guess what? What? >> I just won the blackjack game. >> Yay. >> I just won $30. [clears throat] >> I did. >> Yeah. I really wasn't I I I really wasn't like tripping tripping about not making store this week because I've won the last three games in a row. [laughter] >> This crazy baby about you. >> Yeah. Did you just call me a stupid? >> Oh, that's that's what you sounded like a while ago. >> No, I didn't say e. >> Uh, yeah, you did. >> I mean, maybe just a little, but what? I didn't sound that. You You exaggerated. That's so bad. >> Dude, I need to clean up my fridge. >> What are you doing, dude? >> I'm putting Dude, I'm putting I'm putting the leftover macaroni cheese in the fridge. >> Oh my god. >> Even though Even though we all know what's going to happen. >> Yeah. You're not going to [ __ ] eat them. >> [laughter] >> I am. >> In two weeks, you're going to be like, "Oh, it's gonna look like a science experiment in that refrigerator." >> It looks like that right now. I'm not going to lie. Yeah. Yeah. >> Oh, I'm on your >> I'm need to clean that fridge out. [laughter] >> I got a lot of stuff to clean and get rid of before you come home. I'm just [laughter] kidding. >> Yeah. What are you gonna do if I just pop up surprise you? >> Babe, did you hear what I said? >> What' you say? >> I said there's a lot of things I need to clean and get rid of before you come home. >> Why? >> I'm just trying to make you think I have all these secrets. Yeah, I bet you do. >> What? >> What? >> What? >> What? What could I possibly have? Like, what would What do you mean? >> I don't know. You probably got this weird swing hanging from the ceiling. Kenneth probably thinks it's a swing set. >> Oh, if I had that swing, you better believe I'd leave that sucker up for you. >> Would you really? Hell yeah. >> You let me put you in it? >> Yeah. >> With a gag bar and everything. >> Yeah, babe. >> For sure. >> You would let me put you in it. >> Yeah. >> I'd be mowing you down. And we look we look out the sliding glass door. Do you have a sliding glass door that goes to the pat like a like a regular door? >> Door. >> Just a door. >> It's just a regular a double door. >> No, just one door. >> With every passing minute, new details surfaced. Subtle but telling. Charlene's composure began to slip, her tension growing more visible as the recording continued. >> Does it have like the little blind thing that you slide up and down to open it? >> Yeah, but Seth Leslie's little boy broke it, so I haven't had a Uh, >> Seth Log. >> Yeah, Seth Ro. >> Have you talked to her? >> Leslie? >> Yeah. Is she back with that dude or what? Bear, whatever. Huh? >> He changed his mind. Like, oh, shocker. >> He changed his mind. >> That's literally what he told her. I changed my mind. I don't want to be with you. I don't want to work things out. He's going to make her So, >> he just has >> suicidal thoughts. >> Huh? >> Huh? >> What' you say? >> I said he's going to end up making that lady have suicidal thoughts. He needs to leave her alone or do something. >> Yeah, that's what I told Edley. [music] >> Yeah. >> I'm like, he's just keeping you in this limbo. Like, yes, I want you. No, I don't want you. Yes, I want you. No, I [music] don't want you. I'm like that. >> True. Is she like a big woman or what? >> Lesie is very short. So like >> Leslie and I I think we almost weigh the same but she's very short. Like short like her [music] 9year-old daughter is almost as tall as her. Like she's short. So >> she's like >> so she look really chunky. She looks way like if she was just what maybe like six inches taller like I don't feel like she would look as chunky but she's just really short and so she just squish tall. >> She can be. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Those phone records would later prove to be far more than routine call logs. They became key pieces. Fragments of conversation capable of shedding light on what had truly been happening. Investigators knew that behind those calls lay answers still unspoken. details Charlene had carefully avoided putting into words. >> You kind of see how that sounds from like my point of view of more like a more recent thing than 3 years ago. >> No, >> no, >> no. I've given him I've given I I've given him flowch and that's what he wants to bring to you. >> And I was not in the jail. >> No. No. So, do you think this dude's really going to cover for you? Like, if I bring him in here and we start playing this and all that, you really think this dude's >> Yeah, he's going to tell you what I told you. >> Okay. [snorts] Um, I need you to tell me this when y'all met and all this stuff. Like tell me that how all that happened with as much detail as you can tell me. Like everything that you can remember. We just exchanged numbers [music] and met up a few times and well I mean it was more than just like in times but that was it. Like I didn't at the time I didn't want to be in a relationship. I just got grown out of a seven-year relationship. So, was I looking for anything serious? No. >> The pressure from investigators continued to intensify. Charlene persisted in deflecting, carefully omitting key details and clinging to the claim that they had known each other long before. Yet, the hesitation in her responses, the lack of certainty in her words only deepened investigators suspicions, suggesting that the truth was far more complicated than she was willing to admit. >> How many times do you think y'all met up? Maybe more than [music] five, less than 10. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> And do you remember where all y'all met up at? >> Usually it was just like I don't know how like it wasn't anything [music] like we went places. I didn't want to date anybody and like be on mushy with anybody. It was just kind of >> And where was he living at the time? >> Uh what's where is that? >> Uh in New Street or like what area it was in? >> I mean I have horrible sense of direction. It's just in New KY. Uh, is it 90? No, 59. [music] Wait, is there a 90? No. >> Yeah, there's 59 is like the main freeway that runs [music] through. >> But there's not a 90. So then it must be 59. Somewhere like 59, I think. >> Okay. [music] Where were you living at the time? >> Here in that. >> Oh, a fountain. Okay. >> Yeah, I've been there for 3 years. >> Okay. And you had the same phone number? >> Yeah. >> And uh did you give it one [ __ ] More than one? I mean like so my problem here is vital talk about how profound this was. like just giving him this [ __ ] was but you like don't remember anything about anything about it. It's like a it's like you're just telling me something but you're having trouble coming up with details about it. You know what I mean? Like if it's that profound >> I mean I gave him a [ __ ] How how do you describe [music] [ __ ] I mean is that >> Well, I don't want to know like about the [ __ ] I'm just so if this is a factual thing that happened three years ago, I feel like you would kind of remember some stuff about it like a >> Yeah. I mean like we sat in the car we you know >> like when I asked you who was there him of course like when y'all met or whatever and then when I asked like who else you said it was like a bunch of friends. >> Yeah. >> But like you can remember one about it for 30 seconds. So that's not making sense to me. >> I mean I was with my [music] friend Christy and there were other people there. I mean some of them some of them like I knew [music] who they were that I'd seen before but I didn't like know them personally or anything. [music] Um, I mean it wasn't my they were my friends. I was there to hang out with my friend Christie [music] cuz she was out of town. And I mean she came from out of town. >> At that moment, officers realized the only way to move forward was not to challenge Charlene directly, but to follow her narrative, allowing her to continue speaking, hoping she might reveal more than she intended. >> How did it build to this to where y'all were talking almost 400 times? Um, I'd seen him and uh, I mean, of course, I recognized him and he recognized me, but it was just there wasn't nothing like I mean, my thoughts weren't like I was going to pursue anything, you know? I can't speak for like his thoughts at the time, but it wasn't anything like that. Um, and you know, he was respectful. He never, you know, did anything to like signal or anything. Um, and uh, I guess I had gotten a message from his mom saying that I guess like Jacob had talked to her and he mentioned that I was, you know, here and he just told her to tell me like that he loved me or he missed me or he saw me. I don't remember like something like that like mushy and then asked if he can call me and then he just started calling me. >> Okay. So, >> but it was over over the course of like it wasn't just like one day he was like, "Oh, I saw you." And then he just started calling me. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> So, he his mom reached out to you. >> Yeah. She sent me I mean I've had her on Facebook. >> Okay. So, she sent you like a Facebook message. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> It proved to be a precise move. A seemingly minor detail surfaced, one she hadn't prepared for and couldn't fully explain. In that moment, her own words began to work against her. >> What is her name? >> I mean, I don't want to know what her name is. What I mean, I don't want to get her involved in like this mess, you know? >> It's it's really just like details of the store. There's ways I can find it anyways. It's part of his emergency contact in jail. I [music] mean, I I don't know what's your name. It's about Jacob and I. [music] And I just we'll just keep it as Jacob and I. I mean, if y'all figure it out, obviously I'm not going to You all can do that, but I want to drag her name in, you know. >> Okay. Um, so where was his house whenever y'all like first started talking on the phone? >> Oh, I can't remember. >> I don't know. I guess maybe in the pod. I don't know. He was back and [music] forth like he would get fired then he would, you know, come back and get fired and go back. at that time. I I can't remember honestly. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> And then like how often do you see him back there? >> I'll stop by. I'll be in there for like a minute or two when I leave. Um yeah, I'll go down there every day, but [music] like if I'm in the area, I'll go in there. >> At this point, the questions shifted. They were no longer general, but carefully aimed at the heart of the case. The investigator revisited past decisions, confronted inconsistencies, and studied every reaction with surgical precision. Her answers grew shorter. Her gaze drifted away, and beneath each response was a clear attempt to justify choices that no longer seemed defensible. >> What do like your co-workers say when that happens? >> Nothing. >> I don't know. It just seemed I don't know, like it would be out of the ordinary to me. >> Nothing. I mean I >> you play it off as something else or do you >> We all talk and like you know we're all I would like to think we're all pretty close. So you know sometimes I'll go in there or I'll go in talk to Bailey and Pod 7 or you know um I mean I'm just I'm familiar with all my co-workers so I don't just like talk to like one person like I talk to everybody. can't know everybody on our shift. So, like I'm in the area and stuff by just chitchat. I mean, I talk to, you know, whoever's in the pod. [snorts] Um, but I mean, I don't go in there like >> and go straight to Yeah. No, [music] >> I mean sometimes he's asleep, sometimes he's out on the wrecky yard or, you know, I'm not like, where's he at? You know, >> up to this point, the questions focused on choices and broken boundaries. But from here on, the interrogation would shift, moving towards something far more sensitive than rules or protocol. >> What did you mean a minute ago? You were like, we're talking about his mom's name. You were like, if y'all figure it out, you figure out >> Well, include her like, oh, her name. >> Yeah. I just don't want to Yeah. No, I don't want to I don't want to drag her name in it. I mean, if she's on his emergency contact, then >> what kind of >> Can you tell me what y'all's conversation was like without [music] dragging her name into it? I'm just curious that this I don't know. I'm not wrapping my head around that. This seems kind of different. >> She just sent me a message said Jake [music] told me he saw you and he missed you or >> Okay. Did you know her before this or you said you were friends with her on Facebook? Like did you know her? >> Yeah, like prior. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Cuz I mean, so it's not like >> So you've been to her house, you met her at her house and stuff like that. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um, do you have her phone number? >> Mhm. So I asked that because those are things that I can like verify. >> Mhm. >> You know what I mean? >> Yeah. Like >> like you're telling me what you were telling me, but if I can call her and talk to her about how she knows you and all that stuff, that's >> why that dog gets sick. >> Yeah. >> He ate his phone, a water bottle. >> Yeah. >> Control all your mama's shoes. >> That's That's really why I've been calling my mama like that cuz I've been checking on him. But he's good. >> Oh my god, I was so sad. Oh, that dog drives me crazy. always doing some some he's not supposed to. But I can't. >> You didn't even care. >> Yes, I did. >> Jack loves [music] me, babe. >> He loves me more. >> He loves I don't know. We'll see about that when you get out cuz I'm pretty sure. >> Watch. Just wait till me. >> I know. He loves you. >> But he loves me. Every time I sit on the couch, he's always like he always wants to get on the couch with me and lays on my legs or [music] >> he like as soon as I sit down, he jumps up on my shoulder like he's 6 months old still. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And he got his dick on my shoulder. >> You have one minute left. >> I love you. >> Love you, baby. >> I love you times three. >> I love you times. At this point, officers uncovered another lead, an online chat platform frequently used for the calls. Charlene had been hiding behind a digital mask, an attempt to divert suspicion from her colleagues. Instead, it only added to the growing sense that she was concealing far more than she admitted. >> She's going to take the chicken. >> Yeah. >> Um, so I guess do you know it or is it in your phone? >> Her phone? >> Oh, my heart. No, no, no. I don't know about her. I usually I usually call her when we have conversations. S is usually through Facebook. Like I never usually call her directly cuz she never responds to text messages. So if I have a message to send her, I send it to Facebook and um and then if she needs to call me or I call her. It's usually just to Facebook. That's just easier for her. >> Okay. >> And your Facebook, is your Facebook name just your first and last name? Okay. Um, so there's obviously 400 gel calls and I'm going to have to go through all of those. Is there anything that's going to pop up that's not driving with your what you're telling me today? >> I think so. where I guess we've been talking and it's been what it's been. >> So I I'll just say that >> Well, like what do you mean? Like am I like obviously there's something going on between us? Like do you mean like like what am I what do I need to tell you? Like there's something going on between us. >> I just I need to know if y'all had contact inside of this jail. out was my is what I'm trying to find out. >> No, not >> at all anywhere. >> Okay. >> From here on, every question was calculated not to gather new information, but to test consistency. The interrogation focused on the weakest points of her story. And the more she tried to protect herself, the more room there was for contradictions to surface. That's when the first cracks began to show. >> Yes. So, I've noticed one thing, and I want you to understand this about both of us. Both of us are veteran detectives. Okay? I've been knowing this a while. >> All right? You seem to have blanks in your memory when we get to certain details, but you remember being groped in [music] the [ __ ] from 3 years ago. Find that hard to believe. Okay. This is your one chance to be honest [music] with us. >> Once we get up and walk out and we're done, >> we're done. >> Yeah. And honesty is the only thing that's going to help you with us. >> Mhm. >> So my advice to you right now is to be honest with us. Have y'all had any inappropriate contact whether it's groping, anything, hand jobs? [music] >> Yes, I am being vulgar to get a point across. >> Yeah. No, it's not none of that. Um >> then what is it? Uh, I might have given him a [music] job in back part of B. >> In back part of B, quad. >> Okay. >> How long ago was that? [music] >> Uh, few months ago. >> Few months ago. How long have you worked here? >> Uh, since April. >> Since April this year. >> Mhm. >> Was he already here? >> He was right here. >> Okay. Do you know how long he's been here? >> Don't know. Okay. >> Not at the top [music] of my head. So you a few months ago you gave him a [ __ ] in the back of B. Correct. And that's Bquad. Correct. >> Was any Were there any other witnesses to it? >> Okay. >> No. >> I'm just wondering cuz >> people standing around while >> Well, you were you work days, right? [music] >> Yes. >> Were you working days at the time? >> That's why I'm asking was anyone around because [music] >> I mean everybody's up in daytime, right? >> It's not like the jail's locked down. So, how did how did this come to have like was he a floor worker or how did that happen? How did y'all [clears throat] get to be alive >> at at that time? Yeah, they have they have brought him from the pod to work. Um there was uh they brought him from a pot and I don't think that day they brought anybody else from the pot. It was just him but there was you know a lot of and stuff being passed around pills. So they didn't want anybody from Bquad out on the floor because we didn't know who source was or where he was passing around. So they [music] pulled someone they pulled him >> they pulled a floor worker from the pod. >> Yeah. from a pod and then previous day they had quote two from a pod. So it was just kind of one of those things like anybody volunteer and then it was him. >> At that point earlier statements began to unravel suggesting that whatever existed between them was not long-standing but something that had developed within the workplace itself. >> How long had y'all been talking on the phone up until that point? I can make three or Yeah, it been a few months. >> What month do you think this happened in? >> Uh, the ball. >> Last month. >> Yeah. Is that the only day he came to [music] to work in pe? >> I think it was two days that [music] he was in court. >> Okay. >> And like within a week, >> did anything happened on the second day? And um was this planned? Like did you talk about this on the phone or anything beforehand? >> No, it wasn't pre-planned. It's just >> Okay. Have you written him any letters, passed him any notes? Um, >> or has he written you letters or passed you notes? >> Yeah, I wrote him a letter. Um, [music] like just I'll like write something down and it's nothing like it's nothing like that you wouldn't [music] hear station and your phone. You [music] said that it's in a backpack. Is it in like a work locker? >> No, I think it's in Equad. I had it. Oh, no. I have it in my Yes. No. Sorry. I have it in the office. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Do you do you want money? >> Yeah. I need that. >> So, part of these investigations are we have to look at cell phones and stuff. Um I can either do it like through a search warrant or you can give consent to search it. It's it's kind of up to you how you want to do that. Um, with the warrant that kind of is I'm not saying this to try to talk you into either one, just kind of laying your options out on the table. Um, the search warrant takes a little while cuz I have to write it. >> Mhm. >> You know, I'm like not back to work till Monday and all that. Sometimes it takes a week or two. Um, with consent, we we usually try to download them. It's >> we're kind of at the mercy of the computer how long it takes to download them, but we try to download them and get them back. >> So, >> um, you have my consent. [music] Papa. >> Detectives then questioned whether this behavior had extended beyond a single person or impacted others. Charlene denied it, insisting that her conversations with Parker were harmless and that nothing had changed within the workplace. But investigators weren't just searching for facts. They were weighing the potential consequences. >> I'm going to ask, but I feel like I know the answer. I'm losing my job. >> So, that's that's not really up to me. Um, Internal Affairs is aware of the allegations. Um, and they will probably they they're investigation is separate from ours because there's >> it's it's two totally different um things. So >> yeah, >> uh it is a possibility. Um but I don't like said I don't make that decision either. So >> spell your first name again for me. So this form uh saying that you authorize the McGomery County Sheriff's Office to search, collect, take, process. Uh that's the wrong damn form. Of course, all that again. I'm sorry. >> That's s H A R L E N. >> Five >> 10 of 89. 200 fountain lane 1 2 3 04 77304. >> Phone number >> 936 499 4650. Let's >> for the phone. Uh, it's just saying, so basically what the [music] software does, it just takes everything off of it. Uh, so it's saying that you press that. So if you're good with that, you just >> At this stage, the consequences facing Charlene Oion were unavoidable. The tension in her demeanor revealed a mix of regret and growing fear over what lay ahead. >> My partner started the phone still, so we'll get that done as soon as we can. >> Okay. >> The way um kind [clears throat] of the way this goes from here is we talk to the district attorney's office. They make the determination on charges and all that stuff. Uh so I don't have an answer for you there on that right now. Um but I will be talking to him about everything. >> [music] >> what kind of charges like >> so it's it's illegal to have contact with an inmate as an employee. >> So, [music] um I said the ball kind of be in their court, but I'll let you know as soon as I hear something. Um >> I mean, should I go to jail? >> That's up to the DA's office. But, uh, employment wise, um, I [music] will make some notifications and then we'll get the ball rolling on that stuff, too. Okay. So, if you'll just hang tight for me in here for [music] a little bit. I want to get some stuff squared away. Uh, you need water or anything? I'll get you a cup of water. You got fine. >> Okay. So, uh, the phone just waiting on it to generate the report and then, um, it'll be done. Um, I talked to like the internal affairs people and they're going to send somebody over to talk to you. um historic side of it. So, >> okay. >> Um so, it's brought to my attention you mentioned there have been some stuff in the jail. Do you have anything to do with that at all? >> No, absolutely [music] not. I've never even smoked in my life. >> So, I guess they have some evidence they've gathered like the bag. >> Yes, I did find a bag of [music] >> Would and I don't think they're worried about the one today. I think there's been something going on before that, but uh would you be willing to consent to a DNA swab just so they can test that against it? Okay, cool. Great. >> And you know what? I already filled one out cuz that's the form I accidentally had. >> Oh, remember? Yeah. Yeah. I'll take a test. I'll take all that. I'm not I've never [snorts] done any of that or anything. >> See? >> Yeah. When I said earlier, oh, that's the wrong form. I have a DNA form. So, I have your information in here. This is just saying that you consent to uh what it is is a buckle swab. Like I bring Q-2 Q-tips. I'll give them to you. You swab them around in your mouth. We put them in a bag and >> Okay. >> So if you consent to that, if you just sign right there. >> Oh, is it supposed to show? >> See what this paper's doing. >> Okay. All right. In the end, Charlene Oan was sentenced to 100 days in
