The window. Yeah, she's not. >> He is too with me. >> Is your victim okay? Uh, she ran out the front door. >> On March 20th, 2025, officers in Chicago responded to a domestic related call at a home near 900 East 100th Street. When they arrived, they learned an armed suspect was inside with a woman, and the situation was already critical. What officers walked into would force them to make a split-second decision that no amount of preparation could make easier. >> How you doing? >> What's going on? >> He's been to jail before. I shouldn't at the police. >> Where's your mom at now? >> She's in her room. the window all the way to the right of the yellow house. >> Okay. >> Let me get one more car to be out. >> 511. >> Miss here's the thing. Describe this guy to me. >> Um he has like dreads. >> Dreads. >> He's like 5'9, 5'8. >> Okay. >> I know his name. >> Okay. Is he a fat guy or skinny guy? He's like, >> "No." Oh, sorry. He's like a little boy. >> Did you just call him a my partner fan? >> No. >> And you saw the gun today? >> Yeah. He got tattoos on his face. >> Did you see the gun today? >> Yeah. He had put it to my head and then my mom got in front of me. He put it to her head. He kept her with it. >> Okay. All right. Yeah. Once you get here, we'll uh we'll go inside. Make sure your mom's all right. Okay. >> All right. >> Yeah. All right. >> She's hard to hear. So, my dad's coming. So, you probably won't know what she has to say. >> Okay. She's hard of hearing. >> Yeah, she's coming. >> He is too. >> The uh top right room is where he's at. >> Yeah. Can I look now? >> No, we're going to wait a second. We got >> With backup now on scene, officers moved into the home and began clearing it room by room. They had been told the suspect was in an upper bedroom. And as they pushed forward, the situation inside was about to escalate faster than anyone could have anticipated. >> And as soon as you unlock the door, go with this officer right back to the car. Okay, >> hold on one second. >> And we're going to take the front. She's got supposedly the We'll go out there together anyway. supposedly shot the police. So, be careful. All right. >> All right. Is the thunder down? >> Say yes. Tell them the thunder's down. >> After the suspect was down, officers quickly moved to secure the weapon and check on everyone involved. The victim had run out of the room. The suspect was bleeding and now the focus shifted to getting medical help on scene as fast as possible. >> Police offense. Christ, man. Woo! >> Jesus Christ. [snorts] >> All righty. >> Someone down real quick. Just down here for me. >> Don't go. Don't go up on He's bleeding like crazy looking. >> You want an eye? >> What's up? >> He might need an eyeax. That ain't going to work on this one, man. >> Okay. >> I'm going to Someone come up. Secure the rest of these bedrooms with me. Is the victim okay? >> The lady, she ran out the front door. >> Okay. >> Hey, Dylan. Everybody, get up here. Correct. >> Yeah. Well, just help clear me. Clear the rest. >> Officers are good. I'm just clearing making sure. >> A little lightheaded. >> I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure. >> Yeah. Sergeant coming up. [music] In the end, the suspect was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead. The victim was also taken for treatment and one officer was transported for observation. A firearm was recovered at the scene. Next up, [music] we have the case where a suspect grabbed a woman from a crashed vehicle and used her as a human shield, forcing officers to make a choice no [music] one ever wants to face. >> You're not driving, so who's going to shoot you? >> The driver of the vehicle? I don't KNOW WHO HE IS. >> Back up. >> Watch right here. Back up, Shane. Back up, Shane. >> On September 12th, 2020, deputies in Adams County, Colorado, spotted a white Ford [music] Explorer with no license plates outside a convenience store. The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Christopher Escobedo, took off the moment a deputy activated his emergency lights. Inside the vehicle was a female passenger who had no idea what she was about to be dragged into. What started with a suspicious vehicle quickly became something far worse. >> I'm actually in the car that the cops are chasing right now. >> Where are you at? He's going to shoot me. >> Where are you at? >> He's going to shoot me. >> WHERE ARE YOU AT? I NEED TO KNOW WHERE YOU'RE AT. I DON'T KNOW. >> Who's chasing you? >> Who's chasing you? >> If the police are chasing you, why are you not pulling over? >> I am not driving. >> You're not driving? So, who's going to you? >> The driver of the vehicle. I don't know who he is. After a pursuit that ended with the explorer crashing into a parked car, Christopher grabbed the woman from the passenger seat and ran. Officers followed them into a backyard where they realized this was no longer just a chase. It was now a hostage situation. >> Nope. South >> that way. They're still going. Still going. Still going. >> Are they going south, Tana? I dropped my radio, John. >> Where's he at? in this backyard, I'm pretty sure. Hop this fence right here. Hop this fence. Hop this fence. >> Just push out. >> Hold on. Blue on blue. Just back up. Back up. >> It's way back there. >> In here. In here. All right. >> Where's the address here? >> DENVER POLICE. DROP THE WEAPON. >> ONE PERSON TALK right now. We don't really see people talking. >> Hey, I I'll talk. Go ahead. >> Hey, this is the Denver police. I need you. Hey, you need to listen. >> Okay. >> Come out right now with your hands up. Listen. YOU GUYS NEED TO BACK OFF AND I'LL LET HER GO. >> COME OUT RIGHT NOW, SIR. BACK >> OFF AND I'LL LET HER GO. >> NO, we're not backing off. Hey, everybody, back up. He's got a gun. Yeah. >> Back up. Back up. Everybody back up. Hey, STOP MOVING. STOP MOVING RIGHT NOW. >> DO NOT MOVE. >> Officers surrounded the yard and gave repeated commands for Christopher to let her go. They could see the weapon, see the hostage, and see that the situation was deteriorating fast. What happened next was something every officer on scene had been hoping to avoid. >> Back up. Back up. Back up. Get some cover over here. Pull some cars up. >> Hey, pull a car up. >> Pull a car up. >> Pull a car up. Everybody back up. Back up. >> I'm with you, Knight. Let's go. >> Come on. Back up. >> Move back. Move back. Go get >> We need a shield. >> Somebody's got a shield. >> Pull your car [snorts] up here. >> Somebody get a shield. Hey, >> go around. >> Hey. Hey, sir. >> Hey, you're not This is not This is not where you want to be right now. The best thing for you is to come out with your hands up behind this barrier. >> SLOW. GET YOUR HANDS UP. >> Show me your hands. >> Back up. Watch. Right here. Right here. Back up, Shane. Back up, Shane. Shane, pull back. >> HEY, DRAG. DROP YOUR GUN RIGHT NOW. THIS IS THE BEST THING FOR YOU, DUDE. I'M TELLING YOU. I'M TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW, BRO. >> You need to Hey. >> HEY. LISTEN TO ME, BRO. >> I [ __ ] BLAST MYSELF, BRO. >> LISTEN to [screaming] me. Cease fire. Case fire. You good? Yeah. I think so. On me. On me. On me. Ready? Let's go. Down. >> Somebody get gloves on. >> I got I got gloves. I got gloves. >> Move everybody. Okay. >> Holy. >> You got ambulance code 10. >> Yeah. Let's go with >> I'm good. >> Coup them. Coup them >> in the backyard at 15. >> Good. >> Yeah, I think I'm good, man. >> We moved up. >> Good. >> Everyone's good. >> Is everybody okay? >> No one's awesome, guys. Thank you. Is he? >> Yeah, he's done. >> We'll wait for the ambulance. >> Clear and come on from the west. >> All right. Denver shooters. >> All right. >> No, Tommy. >> I didn't know. >> All right. We got two shooters from Denver. >> Yeah. >> All right. Come with me. >> In the end, Christopher Escoba was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female hostage was pulled to safety without physical injury. Moving on to the case where a late night 911 call brought officers to a parking lot and the man who made the call had already admitted to pulling the trigger. >> You just shot someone. Okay. Why' you do that? >> I said stop and you didn't. I pulled shot then >> and then he came up with [music] the with his gun. >> The first shot went off this way. The second shot went off up in the air. >> On February 13th, 2023, officers in Key West, Florida responded to a parking lot after a man called 911 and admitted he had shot someone. When they arrived, they found 21-year-old Garrett Hughes suffering from injuries and the man who pulled the trigger, 57year-old Preston Lloyd Brewer III, was standing nearby with his gun resting on the hood of a Jeep. What Preston told officers that night was about to be challenged by everyone else who was there. >> He was 911. >> Yes. Hello. I just >> You just someone Okay. Why' you >> be aggressively in my parking lot? >> Who's the person that had the gun? >> Yes. >> Oh, hey. Get away from the gun right now. Go. I want you to get get against that wall. Get against the wall. Listen to what I'm telling you. Get against the goddamn wall. >> I don't care. Get against the wall. >> Officer. >> Where'd you get at? >> In the Got >> going to be abdominal on him right now. >> In the abdomen. He is. >> Let's work on him. >> Put your hand on your chest. Put your hand on your chest. Put your hand on your chest. Hold on a second. I'm dealing with someone that just got You keep your hands right where they're at. >> Hey, Bubba. Bubba, look at look at me. >> Yeah, gloves. Look at me. >> Dude, you grab that gun. I'm going to plug you full holes. >> Preston claimed he attacked Garrett because the young man came at him aggressively in the parking lot. But as officers tried to secure the scene, Preston kept trying to get closer to that weapon, and the tension in the air was only getting worse. >> I told you right now. I told you right now to get against the wall. Listen what I'm saying right now. We're trying to save this guy's life. Okay. Get against the wall. >> Yeah. Whoever's telling him to grab the gun. Stop it. Okay. All right. I'm dealing with him and the person. >> That's Is he responsive? >> Sit down real quick for me. Just so we get everything figured out. Okay. You're okay. just relax and just we got to get everything figured out >> real quick. >> That's fine. That's okay. Real quick before because of the circumstances. >> I understand. >> I'm just letting you know. I'm going to read you Miranda. It's not saying you're in trouble. >> So, just give me one second. Okay. I just in case we want to talk to you. All right. >> All right. So, you have the right to answer. >> I understand everything. >> Let me just explain it to you. Okay. What has anybody has anybody patted him down for weapons or anything? >> I have. >> Just double checking. All right. Hold on. Don't Don't reach for it. Don't reach for it. >> Don't reach. Don't >> Why do you Don't I'm giving you to you. >> Don't do that. >> We understand that, but that's We just said not to do it like six times. >> Okay. >> Don't Don't even Stop. Stop. I'm going to put you in handcuffs. >> I have nothing else. >> Okay. >> Okay. Stand up. >> Just stop. >> Stand up for me. >> Stand up. >> Put your hands against this wall for me. >> Okay. You you can sit down. You can relax. But like I said, I'm going to read you, Miranda, because this situation. Sit down for me. Okay. >> You have the right to remain s silent. Would you wish to speak to us if we have question? >> Talk to you about what happened. >> Yeah. This this is the reason I read Miranda is because obviously we've been telling you to sit down and I'm going to have questions. Okay. I'm not saying you're in trouble. I'm not You're not even in handcuffs. I'm just telling you because of the circumstances. Okay. >> Can you tell me what happened tonight? So, I came out of my bar, which I own all of this. He was pissing and I asked him to stop pissing on the wall. He turned around in an aggressive manner and it appeared that he was going to reach for something. >> As soon as he did, I said, "Stop and he didn't." I pulled. >> That's what happened. I was in fear for my life. That's what happened. Okay. Did he make any statements to you >> other than you? No. Okay. >> Did you see a weapon or anything? I I haven't I haven't even gone over to him yet. >> No, I I didn't see anything. I saw him reach for something and I was at fear for my life. It's on my property we own all the way to that wall. >> What's your name? >> Preston Bro. >> Preston claimed the victim came at him aggressively and that he feared for his life. But when officers started talking to the witnesses who had been standing just feet away, the picture they painted of what happened in that parking lot sounded nothing like what Preston had described. >> Did you see what happened? >> Yes. Yes. >> Yes. >> Then come talk to me. >> Like here's the here's your scene right here. >> So your friend was against the wall taking his urine. >> My friend was peeing over here. >> Okay. >> Ping not peeing. >> We we can talk moment. He was peeing here. >> They were having words. I can't tell you what was said. >> That's fine. He was coming here. This guy started approaching my friend. >> Okay. >> Whatever words were said, I have no clue. >> It's fine. >> My friend was peeing, which were, you know, peeing. And he turned around and the guy had already clutched his weapon. >> What point did he take his weapon out when he's come across the parking lot? >> At least by by those bags. >> By those bags. Okay. And at what point did you hear or see the he had fired? >> I mean, he was easily right before that truck. >> Before the truck. Okay. And then your friend was still against the wall. He was he wasn't he wasn't against the law. He was in this perimeter right here. >> In this perimeter right here. Okay. Um could you see a full view of both of them at the time? >> Yes. >> Okay. And then once he fired his back away or keep going towards your >> No, he kept he kept him right the >> came up approached him with his gun. >> Who was that? Which who did >> him? >> Okay. And then what happened? >> And then he came up with the with his gun. >> Which hand did he have it in? >> I think his right hand. >> His right hand. Okay. >> Where did he hit him at? >> Where did he hit him at? >> Where did he hit him? >> Yes. >> No. No. You said he hit him with the gun first like him or him or punched him like that. >> Okay. So, where did he hit him at with first? Inside the head. >> Yep. >> What happened after that? >> So, after that after he the gun off. >> Okay. So, the gun >> pushed him back. >> Did you see the gun? Did you see him pull the trigger and pull the trigger at him or you just heard? >> I think he went to his abdomen and went to his abdomen. Okay. You think? Did you see it? [snorts] >> I couldn't really see it. >> That's okay. That's fine. I I just need to know cuz there's some things we see, some things we hear >> because it was like wrestling like >> so they were fighting. So they got into a after the gun got they get into a physical the >> right and then the gun went off. Okay. Okay. >> One witness after another gave a consistent account. Preston had been angry. He had been the aggressor and the victim had never stood a chance. With those statements now on record, officers turned to the bar employees to fill in what happened before the shooting. >> Do you know why we're here? >> Um, yes. Because uh the boys just got bowed out there for no reason. I walked out when they happened. Okay. Can you tell me sitting right here arguing about something? I don't know what the argument is about. I know that they was arguing and it became physical. I don't know who transferred to physical. I know. And then the man gun. I heard three times. People say they heard five times, but I heard three right there. >> So, did you see the actual gun getting pulled out? out before it even transpired. He came out with the gun. He was his his demeanor and everything prior to this happening when he was at the bar. He could tell he was angry or irritable or aggress. I out of nowhere. He said that man came out of an aggressive man. That man ain't come out of an aggressive manner. And if he did come out of in way aggressive manner, there's no right point to go out multiple times. There is no absolutely no right. >> Can you tell me what you saw or heard or observed? From the beginning, I feel like Preston was like a little bit weird like the whole entire night and like saying like weird things to me and like drunk out of his normal drunkenness cuz he he comes here all the time like um like all the guys they had went outside, they had pay their T, they left, whatever. And then I was literally sitting at the bar and I heard two guns and none of it made sense. I was like, "That's not." And then I heard three more or two more. I don't know. It was like three or four guns. >> Preston was taken to the station and given the chance to explain himself. He sat across from the detective and walked through the night from the beginning. He insisted he was just protecting his property, but the detective had questions that weren't going to be easy to answer. >> Tell me what happened and start if you can just start the I guess the night that you were at town that night. >> Correct. >> Okay. Oh, go ahead and let me know. Tell me, tell me what you done. >> I was there for her um in Super Bowl. >> Okay. >> Uh I was with uh my niece and her boyfriend. >> Okay. >> They back. I am now single. So I hung out for a little bit longer um to see if maybe a potential seus might show up. Okay. >> Nothing happened. I was ready to go on. Um, I noticed there was a lot of activity going to and from the back door. >> Okay. >> As we have discussed in the past, correct? >> Yes. >> So, I went out back to just see what was going on. As you know, I am armed. They show my business, my [music] property, >> right? >> I went all out back and there was not one. This was not a dealer, I don't think, just a guy. And he had buddies with him and there were there were cars, but he was in between two cars. There were car and there were people on either side and I guess they were all together. I don't know. They hadn't come from inside the bar. I don't know where they came from. And he's pissing in the parking lot. >> Okay. >> And on the building. And I said, "Man, can't you just go in the in I'll be honest. Can't you just go in the bar and piss in the toilet? And we exchanged words. And as it progressed, he became more agitated and approached me. And I said, "Look, I own this. Stop." He continued to approach. I said, "I'm armed." It appeared as though he was reaching for something. The first went off this way. The second went off up in the air. To the best of my recollection, he was already on top of me. It would happen that fast. >> Okay. >> There's no doubt I fired a weapon. >> Okay. [clears throat] >> Cuz they wouldn't let me wash my hands. >> I would do that up there. >> It it happened, >> right? >> I immediately once he was down did not continue to assault him. said, "My firearm on the hood of a car." Okay. Awaiting the arrival of the police. >> As the questioning continued, Preston described the victim charging at him so fast that he barely had time to think. He admitted firing the weapon, but kept circling back to stand your ground. The detective listened, then pressed on the details that didn't add up. >> When that h when the altercation happened um that you all came together, was there any contact with you on him? Did you grab him? Did he grab you? Did was there any uh hand contact? >> Not to my recollection. >> Okay. >> It would it it happens so fast, but when somebody's coming at you that fast, >> I got you. It does at you. It doesn't matter. >> Right. >> Now, if we're going to get into very minute particulars, that's what I'm going to ask for a lawyer. >> Did they say anything? >> Uh the looks. And finally your um officer that did not detain me, >> right? >> Really? He didn't handcuff me, but we went sat on my back steps cuz where originally I was looking at the scene and the guy was looking at me like, "Yeah, I'm going to get even with you." And the officer talked to and he said, "Just come sit over here." >> And as far as words, you don't can't remember what he told anything like that. >> No, it was all I hate to say it, but you know, in the heat of battle, in the heat of the moment, words are exchanged. Yes. Can I be verbally abusive? Yes, >> I can't. But did did I walk and strike him to cause him to come at me? No. >> Right. Okay. >> Look at my size. >> I mean, no. >> And I and my recollection is the guy was a little bit taller than I am. >> All right. Did he hit you? [clears throat] Did he strike you? >> No. He came at me in a threatening manner. >> Okay. >> And it appeared as though he was grabbing reaching [music] for something. He was coming at me. >> All right. And >> did you did you see what he was like what he was reaching at or anything like that? >> I did not. >> Preston began asking questions of his own about what came next about whether he would be going home. >> You know, this wasn't a revenge thing. This wasn't one of the dealers back there. It wasn't like I was hunting somebody. >> I got you. I got you. in no way, shape, or form. >> I got you. Um, you had gone to the bar earlier. What time you think you got to the bar? >> We watched the whole Super Bowl. >> The whole Super Bowl. Okay. How many drinks you think you might have had? >> Probably three. >> Oh, three. Was it drinks or beers or you beers? >> I don't get you just drink beer. >> Here's what I would ask. If if you want to hold me for whatever reason, give me 3 or 4 days. Here's why. I'm a oneman shop. I've got to pay estimated taxes. I'm the only one that can do it. Okay? >> I've got to be in my office. I don't care if you come and sit with me to make sure I don't go anywhere, right? >> But I I've got to be able to do that. Can I ask you how that fellow's doing >> right now? He's uh critical. >> Does anybody else have access to the cer system other than yourself >> for the parking lot? >> Uh, no. I need to get in there and look at it. >> Are you the only one that has the capability to do that or is there somebody else that has that has access? There is somebody else, but I don't give you permission yet. >> You understand that we're going to need to be able to see that? You understand? We're going to need to be able to see the video. >> So, what's the overunder on me going to Brick Ramsey's hotel tonight? >> Brick Ramsey's hotel. That's a good way of putting it. We're still working out all the details, so we're [music] not we're not making that decision right this second. >> The detective had one more thing to tell him, and it was the kind of news that would change everything for Preston. >> I would like to get in touch with my lawyer. I've asked three times and was denied the ability. >> When did you ask for that? >> When I was detained at the scene. >> Okay. >> And I was jester. When the guy came, you said the guy came towards you. Do you remember anything or any type of threatening things that he told you or anything that he made actions? I know you said he grabbed you. >> He was coming to aggressively get me. He was taller than I was. >> All right. Did he show anything like did you remember anything? Hand maneuvers, hand things. Did you remember anything? It it was just that fast now. >> Okay. The hospital had contacted us a little bit ago. I just talked to the detective that was out there and the the kid did pass away. So, I just want to let you know that. All right. Um unfortunate thing, but I I got to tell you nothing too long and there's no need to to hold anything back. But, um we're going to do the roll. They'll give you your medication out there and then um we'll right while you're doing that, we're going to do what we got to do and then see what those what avenue the state wants to take. Okay. >> All right. They'll uh they'll take you now. The gentleman that we're downstairs take you up there. >> Yes. What's the over under on this? You're honest with me. What's the overunder? Everything's going to be bearing on what the state they're the ones that know the stand your ground law better than any of us. We'll present it to them and see what they say. Okay. We got their story, your story. You were honest with us what you said. Um and we just let them go. It's very the the stand your ground. is a state. We've had these cases before where they the ones that know that they they know that law better than us. Okay. >> In the end, Preston Brewer was booked on first-degree premeditated murder and weapons charges. A jury found him guilty and he was [music] sentenced to life in prison without parole. Next up, we have the case where SWAT officers arrived to find masked [music] suspects holding a woman at gunpoint and the chaos that followed turned a quiet neighborhood into a scene no ONE EXPECTED. >> LET HIM GO. YOU'RE GOING TO GET SHOT. >> WE GOT A BLACK male bleeding from his face. 32 as fast as possible. DON'T MOVE NOW. HANDS UP. Hands up. >> I saw her pull in. They jacked her. >> Anybody else out? These are the two. That's it. >> Yeah. >> On December 8th, 2022, SWAT officers in Akran, Ohio, moved in on a group of masked suspects who had pistolhipped a man and were holding a woman at gunpoint. There were three of them. As officers closed in, two of the suspects ran, leaving one behind. What followed was a dangerous pursuit through backyards and driveways with innocent neighbors caught in the middle. >> Quick community. >> Hey, keep your hands up. Come on, man. >> Come on, man. This ain't worth it. >> Just let her go, man. >> This ain't worth This ain't worth it, man. >> This ain't worth IT, BRO. COME ON. >> COME ON, MAN. >> BACK UP NOW. >> Come on. >> BACK UP NOW. >> Come on, man. >> Bro, back up. >> This is not working. >> No. Over here. Over here. TO THE LEFT. TO THE RIGHT. >> COME ON, BRO. >> RELAX. EVERYBODY, >> come on. >> Come on, man. >> Stand by. >> Push yourself. >> HEY, >> LET HIM GO. YOU'RE GOING TO GET MOVING WEST. MOVING WEST. >> LET HIM GO. >> LET'S GO. GET on ground. Get on ground. >> Put your hand on your back. >> I got one on the ground here. >> They're running down with an AK. >> They got an AK. >> I got it. I got it. I got it. >> He ran that way with an AK. >> You okay? >> Hey, anybody else in the house? >> Got a bunch of friends. How's got lucky? >> Was any more guys in the house? How many were there? >> There was three holding gun there. George and Clement. He's coming right towards you. He's right in the middle of that block. >> I haven't seen him cross yet. >> You got to help me up. >> He should be in the middle of the block. against the car. >> You got anything in your pocket? >> No. >> Yeah. >> What you got on you? not the backyard here. >> With one suspect in custody, officers turned their attention to the victims. Both were alive and conscious, but they urgently needed medical attention. The immediate threat was over, but the search for the others was just beginning. >> Two ran that way with an AK. >> You okay? >> Hey, anybody else in the house? >> They ran down street. One's got an AK. I need a 32 over here for at 910 Arlla. We got a black male >> bleeding from his face. >> 32 as fast as possible. >> Did you guys get them? >> Got one of them. They got They're chasing the other two down now. >> I think we got some smoke on the back of my head. >> Do you even recognize any of them? He's on right now. >> I only seen one to be honest. Like, >> do you live here? >> And what did they just come in your house? >> I was going out to the car. >> We were about to leave and they just >> Yeah. The one he ran up and it was in a silver Kia like SUV like >> he had the gun out, you feel me? I was like, you feel me? No. Am I in the middle of the street? It was out. Then the man search. >> I'm feeling it now. >> Can you Can you walk it all? >> Yeah, if you help me up. I I can't drive on my arm. Oh, >> I got you. I don't want you to get no blood. That's the least of our worries right now, man. Come on. We're going to just get you over here to this cruiser. >> The search for the others was already underway. And officers knew they hadn't gone far. As they moved through backyards and checked behind fences, the trail was about to lead them somewhere that put an innocent neighbor right in the middle of everything. >> They mean Neville. They're all over on Neville. This is 111 Georgia. No one's over here. They're next street over. They're in the house or they're hunkered down. >> They're hunkered down in here somewhere. K9 working. Head out that way. >> He's on scene right now. >> There's a shed back there though >> in this in this house. You want me to send behind this garage first? >> You want to try and pick him up? We'll cover this. >> Okay. >> Hey, it's definitely there. >> All right. Hold on. Hold that. Hold that. Hold that. Hold that. HOLD THAT. DON'T MOVE NOW. >> HANDS UP. HANDS UP. >> Get out. >> Driver, get out. Driver, get out. >> [ __ ] right here. >> Watch the back. WATCH THE BACK. >> WATCH THE BACK. WATCH THE BACK. Don't move. Don't move. >> One in the back. >> One in the back. One in the back. >> Here. Don't you MOVE YOUR HANDS. GOD YOUR HANDS. >> Stop clicking your arm. >> Give me your other hand right now, mother. >> Yeah, dude. We're going to search >> God. my phone. >> He jacked He jacked her. >> Yeah. Where did they go? >> He jacked her. >> When? >> Just right now. >> I pulled that gun out. >> He jacked her. She pulled in. They They jacked her. >> There's two. >> I saw her pull in. >> They jacked her. >> Anybody else out? >> These are the two. That's it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Where did they come from? >> This 11:01. She She's She pulled in the driveway. They jacked her and she tried to pull out 111. >> Huh? >> 1101. They got it. >> They They jacked this victim. >> This lady Yeah. This lady separate. >> Good sir. >> With the last two suspects in cuffs and the weapons recovered, the scene was finally secure. Now all that remained was getting them to the station. >> I don't know. >> Maybe. Okay, >> they ran over there. They put in the driveway. They carjacked them. >> There's another pistol right there, too. >> All right, we need we need a wagon for him or a >> walk over here. Yeah, >> I don't know if you want that bird freaking tilt. >> You want to slide these on before we go? >> I wouldn't put that on. >> I'll let you. >> I'll let you do it. >> Yeah, good. >> All right. So, we're going to uh take that off you. When we take it off, you stand up facing that corner. Just put your hands behind your back. All right. >> Bring this hand relaxing for a second. Call >> I got you. >> You lock them down real quick. This left's kind of tight. What's your name, man? >> Ricky. >> In the end, all three suspects were taken into custody and face charges including aggravated robbery, kidnapping, [music] felonious assault, and fleeing from law enforcement. Moving on to the case where a 911 call from a frightened mother led officers straight into [music] a hostage situation created by her own son. >> He's very drunk. He's inside the household with children. >> Where are you? >> He's got a hostage. We got to go. Got to go. WHERE'S YOUR HEAD? ON October 9th, 2023, officers in Nashville, Tennessee, responded to a home on Split Oak Trail after a 911 call from a terrified mother. Her 30-year-old son, Joshua Kerzy, was inside with four young children. He was armed, and the situation was already spiraling out of control. What officers walked into would test every second of their response. >> I have four children here, all under the age of 8 years old. Okay. >> The youngest is only six. >> Does he have any weapons on him? No, ma'am. >> No. And does any is anybody injured or needs an ambulance? >> No. No one's injured at the moment, but he does have severe mental issues. >> And is he drunk or is he in the house? >> He's very drunk. He's inside the household with the children. >> And what is his name? >> Here, mama. I don't want to. Hello. >> Hi. Um, can you tell me what his name is? >> Joshua Shane Kersy. He's my son [music] and well, he has severe mental issues. When he drinks, he gets violent. >> He's in the house with the kids right now and I'm really scared. >> Joshua had locked himself inside with a hostage and the officers could hear through the door that he wasn't in a state to be reasoned with. He made threats, refused to cooperate, and the standoff that followed was only growing more dangerous by the minute. Where are you? >> He's got a hostage. 23's got a hostage. >> Get your rifle. I heard somebody. >> He's got a hostage behind the door. Hey man, it's Officer Ransine from Metro. I just want to talk. >> If you open this door, I slit his throat. I'm not going to jail for another year. >> Well, here's the thing, boss. My name's Officer Bazique. >> I've got nothing left to lose. You got nothing to talk to. You got a choice. You open the door and you are you all wet? >> All right. Hey, boss. We can't do that. You know that. Hey Josh, can you answer your phone? >> He kicked the phone because he's not stupid with a knife twister. >> Well, here's the thing. Someone out there wants to talk to you. Okay. >> I don't care. I have no money. >> Yes, sir. You do. You got all these folks here for you. >> That's fine for you. It's not fine for me, >> Josh. Right now, you're not in trouble, buddy. You're not in trouble at all. >> Every single person said on every [ __ ] >> We're concerned for you. All right. You're not in trouble. You want to call this phone? It's going to cost you a life. >> If I get a shot, I'm taking it. I want to talk to my sister. >> You want to talk to your sister? >> The officers spent nearly 40 minutes trying to talk Joshua down, giving him every chance to walk out peacefully. But then the sounds from inside that room changed and what they heard next left them with no other option. >> Hey Josh, >> I don't care. I'm not >> I have nothing left. I would die before I talk to >> Okay. Would you like to talk with your sister? This is a commercial, my friends. >> You have two more songs. Shine the light. Come closer. I see your feet. OPEN THE DOOR NOW. GO. >> I'm not opening the door. >> Not opening the door, Josh. >> I got to go. Got to go. LET ME SEE YOUR HEAD. LET >> [screaming] >> ME SEE HIM RIGHT NOW. LET ME SEE HIM RIGHT NOW. >> HE HIT ME. >> DROP IT. DROP IT. DROP IT. DROP IT. >> Back up. >> In the end, Joshua was deceased at the scene. All four children, along with his mother and sister, had been safely evacuated before officers entered the [music] room. Next up, we have the case where officers pushed past a man who swore nothing was wrong. And what they found hidden in his home saved a woman from a fate too horrific to imagine. >> She can't hear the screams. in the black box. >> Oh my god, dude. >> On May 2nd, 2023, officers were dispatched to a residence in Ohio after receiving a tip about a missing woman who was allegedly locked up in a man's basement. Here's the footage of how the incident unfolded as the officers made contact with the man. >> Bro, you'd can't be here like this. >> You can't be here like this, bro. >> I'm just knocking on your door. I didn't understand that. But you making you making me hop. >> What? >> You're making me hop. >> What does that mean? >> And then I have >> I'm about to come up. >> All right. Come on out. >> Apparently, this all started in Bronx. >> Give me a few minutes to take a look. >> How you doing, sir? >> Y'all can't be out here like this. >> My name's Officer Robas. That's Officer Oed. Just so you know, everything's recorded. >> Listen. >> Yes. >> Turn those cameras off, please. >> Well, what's what's going on? Can you please turn the cameras off? >> You have to give me a reason and I can. >> You guys are making my spot. I work for you guys. Okay. Long story short, I work for you guys. Please get out of here. >> You guys are born and spotted. >> All right. >> Who do you work for? >> I can't tell you that. Why? >> I cannot tell you that because I'm not allowed to tell you that. When officers made contact with the suspect, 31-year-old Delante Edmund Guyger, he asked them to turn off their body cams, claiming he was some sort of undercover FBI agent. Of course, they didn't comply. And as the scene unfolded, the disturbing reason why he didn't want anything caught on camera began to surface. >> Okay, so just understand that. >> Well, here, go home. >> We have a call here, sir. Let me just tell you why we're here and then we'll leave. It could be nothing. I don't know. I don't know anything about you. >> All right. I'm just saying y'all can't be here. Y'all making my spot. All right. Well, that doesn't make any that doesn't make any sense. >> Don't I I don't It don't need to make sense to y'all. You hear me? So, what I need y'all to do is >> Hey, sorry. Can you come over this address for a minute? >> No, don't don't do that, bro. >> The man was suspected of having a woman tied up in his basement. And this was likely the reason why he didn't want the officers to enter the home. >> Okay, long story short, I need y'all to leave. Make a phone call. >> Well, we're not going to leave that quickly until we figure out what's going on. >> There's nothing. >> So, we were told that ladies tied up in the basement. There ain't nobody tied up in the basement. Can we look? No. No. But why? >> Why not? >> Because I say so. Um, >> it's so tied up down there. >> No. >> What's your name, buddy? >> I can't tell you that, bro. >> What do you mean you can't tell? >> This your truck? >> My dump truck? That's my company truck. >> It's in my It's Yeah, there's nothing going on with your name. >> No. >> Then why why don't you want to tell us who you are? >> I'm trying to tell you I'm an confidential informant. That's all I have to say. You guys are right now. You guys are >> No, that's not all you have to say. >> That's Who told you that? >> I I can't say nothing else. >> Well, if there's something happened in the basement, we got >> Nobody in the basement. I just What I >> So, why can't I look? >> Why do you Why do you >> all that stuff that went on in the past with those three girls, man? We got to take this seriously. >> What? Gina, the Jesus. >> I don't know the stuff. You know what I'm saying? If we don't take this seriously about something, I'm about to give you my social security number. Oh, yeah. We're not going in without >> do that. Tell him please not to do that. >> Do what? >> That's fine. That's fine. >> Sergeant, please tell him not. >> He's not going. >> Okay. I'm going to give you my social security number. >> I want you to run it. >> Okay. Come up. Come. What's going on is you guys had a crackhead make a foster claim. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Well, that's an answer. >> That's it. >> Well, then we still have to follow up on it. >> There's nothing going on, sir. >> All right. All right. But do you understand our point? >> I understand your point. You're actually >> If we just walk away and somebody actually is there, what are we going to do? >> Well, that's what you guys are going to have to do because I'm not letting you inside. >> You see where Do you see where the problem lies? >> No, there is no problem. >> We don't just write he said it's cool and we leave. >> Well, that's that's how it goes. Because if I >> No, that's not. >> So, [cough] how what do you mean? [clears throat] This >> So, they're not going to let this go. >> Well, listen. >> So, either today, tomorrow, the next day, in the next 5 minutes, you're going to considerly have these problems. And if we have to talk to Detective Smith and say, "Hey, do you think this guy would have a girl kite up in his basement?" >> He's going to say no. >> Is he? >> 100%, bro. I just >> He's willing to risk his career for all that. >> Do you think I'm [ __ ] Oh my gosh. You're going to take a a crack in his word over uh Detective Detective Smith's word, right? >> I haven't spoken to Detective Smith. >> Well, you going to talk to me. He going to let you know what's going on. I I was down there for an hour with him yesterday. >> I just left my probation officer. >> Why would somebody Why would somebody say that? >> Crackheads. >> But why would a crackhead say that about you? The crack is but probably cuz they want more crack. Bro, >> do you have crack? >> No, I'm not going to Why would I say that? Why would you ask me that on camera? >> I don't know. >> Why would you do that to me? >> I know I don't have no crack. >> It's my job. Well, why would the crackhead be here then? >> The officers noticed major inconsistencies in the story of why they weren't allowed to enter the basement. Despite this, the officers insisted on coming into the house to search for the woman. Sorry. >> I know that's there's a lot of music. I had a knock for a minute on the back. So, >> all right. Let's go back. Okay. >> Yes, you can, bro. No, I'll talk to your officers. Talk to Texas. >> I did too. I only want you I only need you in my house. >> It's a single guy. We'll be fine. Please. Please. >> You understand the the safety issue, right? For a police officer, bro. You know what I mean? >> Trust me. Anybody got a lighter? I smoke my nerves if you needed. My nerves are really bad. Let's get out of it. I got Jesus. Just stay here. >> I want to get out of here, too. But you mind if they're looking? >> No. No, dude. There's too much going on. >> No. No. No. >> All right. Stand outside. Leave this crack, though. Okay. >> The basement turned out to be empty, but the officers weren't convinced that was the end of the story. >> No cost. Okay. the phone. >> Later that night, a different informant told the officers a haunting story about the suspect. >> His girlfriend see he has a girlfriend named who's a black girl and they tied her up her and her. He showed me pictures. He was they made he made her write a thousand times. I am a rat. I am a snitch. I am a rat. I am a snitch. Then where he murdered her dad, he ripped up for the fire pit. He ripped up all like the tile right there. Told me I have to paint it and I have no choice unless we paint it tomorrow. And he was telling me everything about my pierce. He said, "I'll you too." Oh, he's like spill a heart. But he learned that [ __ ] and he took I guess he in the basement. My friend Katie see her in the basement called police and they said he called the detective. Detective said we'll just let let them search your um basement. So he moved her body from the basement to upstairs and let the cops come in to search the basement. Apparently, the suspect had moved the body from the basement earlier that day after hearing that police were on their way. The woman's account of what had really been inside became a major breakthrough. Officers returned to the home, this time with a greater sense of urgency and a much clearer idea of what they were looking for. >> Hey, hey, did you talk to Detective Smith? He tell you what's going on. Yes. All right. So, I appreciate this. Um, thanks a lot for this. >> Yeah. >> You know my [ __ ] >> What's up, dog? How y'all doing? Sign people. >> I'm over time now, man. Come to the back, man. Okay. >> Yeah, I can do that. >> Is that cool? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> You sure? >> Yeah. >> Thanks for doing it. >> All right. Sorry for my attitude. Okay. >> Give me 5 seconds. >> The bad car. >> Oh, no. In these quote 5 seconds, the suspect was most likely trying to hide the body for the second time. After waiting for about a minute, the suspect came to the back door. >> Y they know what I told you about though. >> Listen, we're here to look to see for a body. That's it. Um, you give us consent to make sure there's no one laying dead in here. >> This is my uncle. >> Yeah. >> Go outside. >> You let him out? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> You take off, man. Do you give us walk? I'm going walk up to this. >> As the officers searched the house, they heard a harrowing sound coming through the walls. >> Where you at? >> Where you at, man? >> M35. You can send us two numbers. >> All right, we're looking. >> Hey, how do you get to her? >> In the black box. >> Yeah. >> Oh my god, dude. >> Sit here, miss. >> I'm terrible. >> Oh my gosh. I'm terrible. >> All right. >> How old are you? >> I'm 60. >> Six-year-old female. Step up EMS. >> Are you injured besides that? >> I'm paralyzed. >> You're paralyzed. >> I'm paralyzed. >> What's your name? >> EMS is EMS is in route. Are you cold? >> I hurt. >> You hurt? All right. We want to get you out of there, but I'm afraid to move you. I'm going to let EMS do all that. Okay. >> It hurts so bad. What did he do to you? >> He did what? >> Yeah. >> I know. Here. >> Are they here? >> No. >> They've been dispatched. >> Huh? >> Did he stab you? >> Where are you? Where did you think? >> Your arm. All right. Did he sexually assault you at all? No. >> Okay. Do you know how long you've been here? No. >> Is it just one day? >> The victim was transported to the hospital. As for Delante, he was taken into custody and brought to the station where detectives led him into an interrogation room. >> That was like I wasn't going to. So, I wasn't going to I've been eating her and you know what I'm saying, but I just can't have her. I just cuz I'm working with Detective Smith trying to get him two guns, five AKs, four Glocks three that's supposed to be going into the valley like next week. You know what I'm saying? I'm trying to get him moves 6 o a day crack. I'm trying to get him a day. like I found out that this is is that and you know what I'm saying if I was when we found out that what that that the that what I was taking care of in my house um is a rat and if she was to get back out on the street you know what I'm saying so like I'm losing I understand how up I know I can't get out if this is you know what I'm saying I know I know it's >> Dante recounted the details like it was pretty basic for him to deal with stuff like this >> probably like one day or something. >> Yeah. One day she was kicking it cool. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? So that's how that went down, bro. I apologize. Really? Okay. But I just out here in these streets with all of these crackheads cuz this is the serious [ __ ] I keep on telling them like I need to talk to a a corporal. put me in a room by myself. Like the way y'all play that like it was 50 cars in front of my house. I don't think the streets talk. [clears throat] You know what I'm saying? Type [ __ ] Like so like I but like I'm new to this and I feel like my life is in danger. People trying to three times already. You feel kind of been shot in my underarm all type of weird. This is crazy. I felt like I was going to die if I didn't hold her for like two days and tell her like let her know what was going on. I'm kill. Would you mind walking me through again? I I know it's a little tough right now and it's it's bad time but like everything that went through like the time where you were together like what happened during those days [clears throat] moved from the basement to another room fed her showered her some water put a blanket over her telling you the truth really no let's find Was I rap for her? >> No. >> Okay. Is that what you about to ask me? >> No. What you about to ask me? >> No. Like were you giving her drugs and stuff like that? >> Why would I give her my [snorts] So that any point were when was she asking to leave? Different things like that. She has nowhere to go. Okay. She has nowhere to go. All she was just asking was why? Stop. I won't do it again. I'll never tell. I'll never tell. I'll never tell. Blast. Please, I'll never tell. I know I deserve this, but I'll never tell. Like, that's the culture in the streets. You know what I'm saying? Yo, I got four beautiful kids. Okay. So, [snorts] during this time when the traffic stop occurs and she goes on her way, was there anybody that ever said like besides like if she was doing anything that like, "Yeah, she told me." >> No, I thought it was somebody else until I did my homework. >> Okay. So this is all you transpiring doing everything doing all your own stuff in your head and like hey >> listen to the detectives as we log out the car detect like you can go. Thank you. >> Okay. [clears throat] Okay. You ain't even get searched this bomb $20 worth in a car skill and they you didn't even get searched. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> No. Just get your bag. You get your bag. >> They're helping her. Don't get your bag. GO AHEAD. GO. THANK YOU. >> Dante mocked the detectives and then tried to cut a deal to dodge the charges. >> Like I see it on TV. I'm excited. I'm so slick. I'm slick and dear. Yo, I almost got away. Y [ __ ] Them cops is horrible, boy. I'm slick, boy. I ain't trying to brag no boss, but I try to brag no boss, bro. I know everybody big. I just want to know. I know. I know I'm in trouble right now. I know I'm in trouble right now with this happen after I make those BS for y'all. >> You know what I'm saying? The judge will understand that. She should understand that. You know what I'm saying? Like >> Yeah. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like you you know what I'm saying? >> Right. So like I need to go home. home turned out to be the last place that Delante was going. He pleaded guilty to felonious assault, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and having weapons under disability. He was sentenced to 16 to 20 years in prison. Next up, we have the case where a routine traffic stop turned into a rescue when officers found a missing teen in the passenger seat. And the driver had even darker secrets to spill. >> Looks like it's uh back to a missed person. >> Enjoyed it, too. >> You have your ID on you? >> Yeah. Yeah, I got you. Stop. >> That young girl make it home safe. I kidnapped her, man. >> On October 12th, 2025, officers in Ohio received a flock alert for a vehicle traveling westbound. The car bearing a Georgia license plate had been flagged in connection with an active missing person investigation. But when officers located the vehicle, what should have been a routine welfare check quickly took an unexpected turn as the driver reacted in a way no one anticipated. >> I'm behind Georgia. Looks like this uh probably comes back to a missing person. Okay, copy. Now you're stopping it there. Okay, sounds like 11. You want to start that way also? 1178 for a report. >> Hello. >> I'm Officer Blair with Lachland. Uh the reason I'm stopping the car is this car hit on one of our cameras uh and said that there's a missing person attached to this license plate. >> Do you have your driver's license on you by chance? >> Yeah. >> Okay. BACK [screaming] UP. BACK UP. BACK UP. BACK UP. GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES. >> The driver immediately attempted to flee, sparking a brief pursuit, but he didn't get far before officers managed to disable one of the vehicle's tires. As the car finally came to a stop, officers believed the missing person investigation was nearing a resolution. And what they were about to find would raise even more concern. Keep your head still. >> Please do not move. Okay. >> Father, I'm taking the driver to custody now. >> Copy. Driver being placed in custody 85 terminal for a detail. >> Secure. >> Father 11 is secure. We're clearing the vehicle. Vehicle is cleared. >> 11. That's clear. Securing the channel. Vehicle is cleared. Fire department has been notified as well. >> Go ahead and step up, boss. >> Go ahead over here. HEY, WHAT LONG FRIEND? >> You want to pull that back for me if you don't mind? >> Yep. >> All right, we're going to take a seat over here. >> 885 precious on street. All right. You can log it out then. Thank you. >> Yep. >> There you go, sir. >> Yeah. >> That young girl making home safe. I kidnapped her, man. I forced her to come. >> You kidnapped her? >> Yep. She ain't a part of Georgia, man. What's your name? >> What is it? >> Randall in Georgia. >> That's why I kidnapped him. >> The suspect had allegedly admitted that the young girl inside the vehicle had been kidnapped. What began as an effort to locate a missing person had suddenly evolved into something far more serious, shifting the entire direction of the investigation. >> What's the girl's name? on him. >> 17 man had nothing to do with nothing. Like I said, I care not for just a second. >> So this girl was kidnapped from Georgia. >> She was kidnapped from Georgia. >> What did he say? He said he was kidnapped from she kid he kidnapped her from Georgia. They put the one a person on the the license plate. I guess they don't know who it is. So I'm getting contact with Georgia. See what's going on with it. He's got nothing going right now. Okay. >> But his name is Randall. >> He was the suspect in the kidnapping. >> I don't know all that. He was He just stated I kidnapped her. So >> I've got her in my car. >> You do? >> Yeah. Good job. >> Appreciate it. >> Good job. >> Thank you. >> How are you? You okay? Go ahead. >> Uh, Georgia got the flock kit called in looking for Jeffrey. may have been a firearm that was taken when he left out. >> As of right now, who we have in custody is a Randall. He doesn't have an ID on it, so I'm still confirming his ID. You have any ID on you at all? >> Or is everything in the car? >> Frank. >> Okay. Who was that? Who was driving? Do you know him? >> While speaking with the victim, officers noticed that she appeared to know personal details about the suspect. It was an unexpected discovery that raised new questions about their relationship, suggesting there was far more to this case than a simple abduction. >> What's his name? >> Huh? >> Randall? Are you sure? >> Do you know his last name? >> Huh? Give me a second. >> I know traffic, but we have north 83 should be pulling up on you also. >> Where are you from, Mr. >> I'm from? I'm from here. I've been living in my life. I was born here. I left a couple years about 25 years ago. >> Mr. >> Hold up. I'm going to read you your Miranda warnings. Okay. So, you stated you you kidnapped this individual, correct? Yes, sir. >> Is this all from Georgia? >> Yeah. >> What is your relation to this young lady? >> Uh, no. No relation. She was just uh cool and uh she seen something that I didn't want her to tell. So, I told her to come with me. >> When you say she seen something, like she seen a crime or something? >> Yes, sir. That why I say Georgia going to want me? >> Okay. Cuz I put him in the car. He stated that he kidnapped her from Georgia. >> Okay. >> Kidnapped her from Georgia because she's seen a crime happen and he didn't want her telling. >> H was actually witness intimidation stuff, too. >> Yeah. >> George ain't going to like that. >> Okay. >> What do you want done with her? We'll all get it together. >> Um, are you guys wanting to secure the car? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> She being cooperative by the city. >> Yeah. >> At this point, officers quickly worked to establish contact with authorities in Georgia, hoping to piece together what had led to the girl's disappearance. What they didn't yet realize was that this case was connected to another disturbing crime. >> Hello, this is Officer Waters from Lachland. >> Hey, Waters. How you doing? This is Officer Fountain. >> Hey, how are you, sir? >> I'm doing all right. Um, got a situation where first time with this. I'm just trying to call and get some information on it. Give me just a second. Hold on. I'm on the phone with Georgia real quick. I'll let you know. >> Sorry about that, buddy. So, we had a flock on this car for a missing person. Um, >> that's right. >> My partner tried to stop the vehicle. The vehicle ended up fleeing on him. Uh, we went on a chase with him. We finally his cars it ended up going to he ended up have two flat tires. The car ended up catching on fire. We finally got him into custody. Um his name is a Mr. Randall. >> How many people's in the vehicle? >> We had a driver Randall. Then we had a female passenger who >> the missing person is a Jeffrey white male that's registered that vehicle and we're we're it's a possibility that they may have done something with him. >> Okay. So >> soon as I gotten him in the car, he made statements of saying he kidnapped this girl. He kidnapped this girl because she's seen a crime happen and he didn't want her to tell. >> Oh. >> And then I meandized him right after that. After I meandized him, he answered a few more questions and I haven't gone any further on him. I wanted to get in contact with you guys. >> Yeah. or or maybe whenever if y'all end up talking to both of them or just ask him where he's at because that's >> all Charles. >> This is what we were kind of thinking that may have happened. >> I just talked to our detective that took the case over after I sent the report in. Um he's he's got a heads up and then I'm fixing to give him a call back in a minute. >> Are you wanting the vehicle in any way? >> No, we just really want to count for him. That's that's where this whole thing is. >> During a call with a local sheriff's office, officers learned that the suspect was no stranger to law enforcement. His criminal record included numerous arrests and theft related offenses. But as investigators dug deeper into his past, they uncovered a connection to the unexplained disappearance of a man. A discovery that would take the investigation in an entirely different direction. >> He's actually suspected in a in a uh theft that just occurred a few days ago um prior to this. The the story was that him and that girl left with the Jeffrey from Jeffrey's apartment and then that's when the last contact and anything has been of any of them except on flock. >> Okay. >> From here all the way through Knoxville up through that way. And I we were all refreshing our flock and I said, "Let me call you guys." And at the exact same time, y'all were in pursuit of it. Are you guys looking for a gun or anything like that in specific? >> The Jeffrey guy made a report of of a firearm that would have been taken out of his apartment also a few days prior to this. >> Okay. >> Y'all did find one? >> Not yet. I mean, I'm about to tell it. So, I'm got the inventory of the car if it's in there. I'm going to go deal with all this stuff and I will give you a call back. >> Appreciate it. >> All right. Thanks, sir. Yeah, it happened right at that time. >> So, the missing person that is that was issued on this tag is the owner of that vehicle. >> They're thinking he did something with the dude. >> Oh, no. >> So, they're thinking that he >> Oh, >> they're trying to account for him and they cannot account for him and he is not in the vehicle. >> Well, he's the trunk. >> I don't know. But, uh >> well, let's go check that. The owner of that said that if a gun was stolen like two or three days prior to all this happening. So if there is a gun in there, it could possibly be what? >> We didn't even search it cuz I mean you were here it started rolling up. So >> uh >> so I told them they're like that the metal stuff's hot or whatever. So I told them when they gave us okay to take control of car don't touch anything. So right >> they're just scanning it with a little heater so when they get done >> I would I would say wait till that gets to the toward. Yeah, >> let the investigators, BCI, whoever, do whatever they need to do with it, but probably should look in the trunk before we do that. >> At this point, investigators began gathering more information about the case. However, they were surprised by how openly the suspect described what had allegedly taken place. >> You don't need to look for no gun cuz it ain't no gun. If you find [clears throat] his body, you going to find the hammer with a hammer that you got to find the body. We're having to just be >> I mean I appreciate it. >> But like I said, she's seen it. That's why >> him with a hammer. >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> Where's he at? >> I mean, you already You're already admitting to >> in States, bro. That's all. He in States, bro. >> He's in Statesboro from where you're from in Georgia. >> Hey. Hey. He just admitted to him with a hammer. >> Oh, >> really? >> Yeah. He said he's in Statesboro, Georgia. >> Statesboro, Georgia. >> Yep. >> Call Georgia back. >> Yeah. >> We're going to go check this truck to make sure he ain't in there. >> Dude. Holy. I'm on camera, by the way. This is crazy. Yeah, I did. And he just admitted to Good Dude. Yeah. The dude that drove this car, he's the one that's missing. And I said, "Well, where's he at?" He said, "You don't have to look in the car. You don't need to look for gun cuz they thought a gun was stolen." He said, "I hit him with a hammer." He I ran him out. Nothing came up in MCI. Nothing. I talked to Georgia. They don't have anything on him. They're just suspecting him of it. But I mean, he admitted to everything. So, I talked to him and I was like, "Who is this girl?" He said, "I kidnapped her from Georgia >> because she's seen something and I didn't want her telling." He said this before I even read him his rights, as I put him in the car. So, after he said all that, I read him his rights and I've been asking him questions after that. >> Unsure whether the vehicle contained crucial evidence, officers began a thorough search in an attempt to locate items that were still missing. All right. He said he's still in Georgia. He didn't give a whereabouts. He just said a county. He's still in Georgia. And I said, "Where's that out?" And that's all he said from there. We checked the trunk. >> Yes. >> You didn't see a hammer or anything in there? >> We didn't search for that. We were just making sure that there wasn't a body. >> Yeah. >> We didn't we didn't >> figured detail search would have done whatever gets you something like that. We just didn't want to make sure that there somebody tied up back here. You'd probably be safe to skip the inventory and get a search warrant on this. Correct. >> I would do that. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Hey, >> what's up, man? >> Somebody must told y'all I always >> Nobody told us anything about you, my guy. 136. >> It was just a coincidence when you ran out. >> One hell of a coincidence, I guess. >> Sweetie, >> like something. >> Um, I'm going to take him in first real quick. >> Yeah. All right, go ahead and step out here for him. In the end, the suspect was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, failure to comply, endangering the welfare of young people. After this, authorities found the victim's father, who confirmed she was never meant to be in that car, to begin the process of reuniting her with her family back in
