Yeah, I guess someone called in. They were concerned about you. Oh, I don't know. Okay. Can What did you take? What did I take something? No. You're acting really weird. No, I was just feeding my baby food and she's throwing it out the car. Make sure you're heal and we're touching. Okay. Arms at your sides. This is just hard for anybody to do anything. Some parents are so consumed by the need for their next hit. They shut out everything, even their own children. But what happens when police arrive just in time to save the children before things end in tragedy? I can't lose my kids. I'm not going to lose my kids. Like, cuz I know where people hide things. Don't get Stop putting your hand on my pants. Jesus Christ. Here are the moments the cops stepped in and saved endangered kids from their terrible parents. Starting off with the case of what seemed like a routine hospital visit turned into the shocking discovery of a addicted mother using her own daughter to hide illegal contraband. On April 28th, 2024, officers responded to a hospital after receiving a report about a woman and her boyfriend engaging in suspicious activity inside a pediatric care unit with their baby present. Upon arriving at the hospital, the officer had a look at the seized substance. Which hand was the baby holding it in? On her left. How long? I don't I don't know. We just went in there. I don't know how long she had. Like I said, they had a bunch of bags on there and stuff. Okay. So, we don't know how long. Yep. There's a blue in there. Okay. So, the baby's medically cleared. It's just the the um workers here in the pediatric unit. They're holding the baby just because of the fat that was found inside the room that the baby was holding. And the mom is I haven't talked to her yet, but she's impaired. So, and then the gentleman that she was with, she just left. He's impaired as well. The baby's old 14 months. 14 months. Okay. And what was the reason why the baby came in? Respiratory infection. Yes. Bronculitis. Coming up, the officer entered the room where the mom and toddler were staying. And it didn't take long for the officer to realize that he had been dealing with the suspect before. Hello. How you doing? Officer Travis FD. Can you guys turn the lights on for us? How you doing, ma'am? Good. What's your name? And do you have your driver's license with you? No, I do not. Why not? Oh, you remember me? I know you. How are you? Good. How are you? Remind me where I know you from. Walmart. It was. Was it Walmart? Yes. You had remember? No. You you swallowed your f on me, remember? Mhm. I need your name and your date of birth. Okay. Um, don't conceal on me cuz I can find that case number from the Yeah, I know. Okay. Um, so the thing with that is I think I might have Omar, but I called the courts today cuz you know I was surrendered and I let them know I was here with the baby. Okay. So, um they told me to take in a um like doctor's note or proof that I was here with you know that. So, what's your name? M A R Maption AI. Last name. Who is the male that was in here with you? His name is Juan. What? So, do you know the reason why I'm here? No. Do you want to guess why I'm here? Get creative. Okay, I'm going to read you your rights before I make this make a before I do something. Okay. It turned out the officer recognized the suspect from a previous encounter involving illegal contraband. Coming up, he explains why he suddenly showed up at the hospital room. We got a call, okay, that your little one here had on her left hand. That's what she has. When this today where here was I here? No. The male that you were with that's been here with her. Okay. That's her dad. That's her dad. He was here the whole time and there was in here. What the I'll tell you where he's at right now. You guys can go and [ __ ] arrest him. He's not supposed to have it and we're supposed to be getting clean and so that's why we're that's why I'm here. Okay. She She had it. She Did they take it away? Yeah, I have it. Okay. How like how much was it or what? It's burnt. There was a pill in it. Huh? There was a pill in it. It's burnt. Wait, what do you mean like a pill in there? It's the aluminum foil was in a square. Okay. And it was burnt. And there was a 30 stamped inside the aluminum foil like somebody and she had it she had it in her hand. So I'm that's why I'm here. So can we test her? Make sure it's not in her system. I mean that's going to be between the staff here, but they're the ones that they're the ones that are making sure that she's safe. And right now Oh my god. We already been arguing and like I actually just text him now. I told him we're done. Like you're leaving like this. Like he doesn't help me with the baby, nothing like that. Like I do everything by myself with the baby and he doesn't help me at all. And it's kind of up. No, it is [ __ ] up. This is like the first night. Well, the second night he came and stayed, but like I had to force him to do it and he left just now. So I was like, "No, we're done. Like I can't do this with you. You're going in and out of her life, dude. Like I don't want this." And I thought he was getting high. I knew he was getting hurt still. So I was like, I can't have this. Like C is going over my house on Monday, dude. Like I I can't lose my kids. I'm not going to lose my kids. Like I love him so much with all my heart. And heing got up and he left and he told me that Taz and Clariss still were outside. They have too. And Taz and Cl were outside. And I was like, "Okay, well bye." Like go with him then. Go with them then. Like I'm sitting here with the baby. He's like, "Oh, well, just tell them that you need to go take me to work." And then I was like, "No, I'm not going to tell them that you're like, I'm not going to go with you. I'm like, I'm not going to leave her here with like hearing the woman's story didn't change the reality of the situation." And all the officer could think about was how badly this could have ended if the little girl had licked her fingers with the contraband still on them. Look, you got to understand this is a very big thing right here, right now. No, I know it is. That's why this is involving your little one. Okay. So, did she have it in her mouth? I don't know. We can pull the camera that's in here. I want to know and see if it was in her mouth at any point in time. I want to know why was it in here? Well, like I said, I didn't think he had it. We're supposed to be getting pr clean. I took methodone this morning. And does that save money on it? Mhm. He might be actually coming back up if they let him. They're not going to let him. I didn't allow him to come in. Do you try? I mean, they're not going to let him up here. I'm so mad. I'm so sad. I'm so I'm so hurt. But what were you saying? I'm sorry. My my missing right now. Why? It was different for you. Yeah. Coming up, it came to light that it was just a few months prior to this that the officer had encountered the woman when she'd overdosed. Mhm. And then also because um my what they were telling me that I had to send over my daughter to my grandma um power of attorney for like the first 6 months of the year or whatever. So, I did that whenever she was born. My grandma was supposed I don't know what they say. My grandma saying something else. I asked my grandma about it. Um the first 6 months I guess um after 4 months that she didn't go to get vaccinated or something like that they said. And I asked my grandma about it. My grandma said [ __ ] And she called back. So [ __ ] That's a lie. She's like, "Oh, they didn't get the the documents from LA Media and they need to get them from her and and this and that." But I the last time I remember my grandma taking her was probably when she was like 6 months old. I don't even know. Do you want to know probably know why? Why? Well, your daughter was born within her system. Mhm. Okay. I don't you ODed in January of 2024 with Zach. You were brought here. Me? You remember that? No. Mhm. in 2024. Beginning of the year in January of 2024, you ODed on and when I arrested you for shoplifting that one day, remember you swallowed how many pills that night? Yeah, I know. But on January 2024, I that wasn't me. That was the night. Remember that was the night I brought you in? That was I brought you in. Is that whenever you saying I overdosed? You were about to open those. Okay. I brought you. You said I open those. Okay. Remember? Wait. What? Yeah, I remember. There's a pattern here. Wait. What do you mean? You're using narcotics and you're taking care of your daughter. There was found in here with your daughter. Not with me though on him and I'm trying to get clean and but the thing is is I saw you. Okay. Look. The woman tried to claim her innocence and pin the blame on her boyfriend. But as he dug deeper, it became obvious that the woman was far from innocent. That's the thing is we're trying to figure out who brought the inside the hospital. Him. I'm telling you right now, him. So if it's both your bag. No, he brought it in. It was probably in his pocket. Just because my bag was up here and he was sitting up here with the baby and he put it down. Just cuz my bag is up here with my stuff when he put it down next to my stuff doesn't mean that it came out of my bag. There's a camera right there. Like, please, let's review it, please. Cuz I know I know for a fact that there wasn't anything in that bag. You want to know how I know? Because at the bottom, they checked your bag before you come up. The security guard, we could go talk to them. He checked my bag so many times. My bags so many times, and there was nothing in it. And you don't have nothing in here right now? No. The nurses couldn't do their job with your daughter for the last 3 4 days cuz you didn't allow them to change her diaper or have somebody sit in here with her. And you didn't let her have a crib. They didn't ask if they could change it. I said I would do it. I'm her mom. Of course, I would do her change her own diaper. So, I didn't know it was against the law. I didn't know. It's not against the law. It's just they want to make sure your daughter's doing okay. Uh-huh. And they took off oxygen and she's fine now. We're just waiting for Monday. Hi, Mommy. Okay. So, just give me a second and I'm going to go outside over here. Okay. You want to know where he's at? I could tell you guys where he's at right now. Okay. I'll get in here in a second. Coming up, the officer reviewed surveillance footage showing the couple having their bag checked as they entered the hospital. Shortly after, a hospital employee revealed disturbing new details about the suspect. He's going to come talk to you guys real quick. Okay. She's the one that found. Okay. So, what's going on next? Check this out. Angel has schizophrenia. She had the childish charges. Um, there was a lot of history with CFB. Oh, no. Yeah, that's grandma. So, Angel, the grandma. Oh, no. And she failed to tell us that. Oh no. Angel suffering from schizophrenic. It's just refuses to take care. Oh my god. Um. Oh my god. Grandma lied and said that. It seems like a little bit of a lift. Yes. Yeah. Oh my god. There's a lot. I mean, it's what I've been dealing with, dude. They said that her older boy came in. I got my haters when they were switching off. So she brought older boy and she when grandma came um older boy had like a gall like go through the safe coming out of his head and then the nurse asked Michael what happened. So she didn't she didn't go through the process and she tried to tell me that she didn't know the process but she already has guardianship over the other one. Oh nice. That's why it was in her left hand. She never let the baby go on the crib. The crib's been in there the whole time. Okay. She would let the baby fall in her arms. I told her that she needed to put the baby in the crib. Okay. Cuz I I was going to 15 her so she can come outside and talk to you. So, I got a quick question since I already read your mander rightites. If I would to if they would give you a test right now, what is going to show on your test? Like I told you, um 3 days ago, I barely I don't know how long. What is it going to be? Uh, like you said, I 3 days ago is when I stopped. So, I don't know how long the CC system for. I don't really What else? Um, if there was a test. And what else? I saw the video where he took out two pipes from your purse. So, what else? Mhm. Don't play me as a fool cuz I already saw the video. I saw you throw it in the trash. Yeah. Um, what else? Clear. I mean, not for the clear, right? Right. No. Um, the oil burners is for oil. You said clear. I know what clear is. Yeah, I don't do it. I've been on Ma'am, I've been on the street. Trying to lie to you. I've been on the street long enough to know what clear is. Mhm. Okay. What is clear? Because I know what it is. And you just said it. You need to stop lying. I'm not trying to lie to you because there's a different issue that's going on right with your child. Your child should not be in here for more than 2 days at least. She's going to be in here for like 5 or 6 days. For what? 9 hours. She's not breathing well. But why? I don't know. This is your child. I know. You should be taking care of her. Mhm. She shouldn't be this sick. She's fine. She's not fine. Then why were they going to let her go? She wasn't fine. Why did they need you to Because she found in her left hand in your room that you and your and that other guy were in here with. I'm not saying that. I'm saying I'm saying why did they need you to help them? Why did they learn? This is our job, too. We handle I'm glad you did tell them. I'm not saying anything like that. I'm saying why like we have to do what we have to do. After internally discussing how to proceed, the officers agreed that the night was going to end with the woman placed in cuffs. All right, Gonzalez, just come out here, okay? Just I need you to turn around. I'm going to be detained right now. Okay. Where are your scabs from? Burning. Why are you burning? Huh? Burns from what? Is there a charge to sit on? Actually, we're going to go to my unit. Yeah, we're we're done up here now. I have charges that are going to be going to you. Okay. What? I'll let you know once I get to my car cuz I haven't been in my car yet. Okay. Do you have anything that I need to know about? I'm going to do a good search. So, you want to tell me now? You don't have nothing? Hey, I know nothing. No, cuz I know where people hide things. That's Gonzalez. Yeah. Why were you lying? Huh? Why were you lying? Don't pick up my for them to see. Nobody can see anything. You can see in the mirror, dude. That's what the It's not right. You know what else is not right? Having paraphernalia in the hospital while your daughter's sick is also not right. Don't buckle me. No. I'm going to unbuckle your your me somewhere else. You're in a hospital. Nobody's right here. Stop moving. Nobody's looking at me. Stop moving. No one's looking at you. Stop moving. I'm going to put you on theinging floor. Stop making a scene and get up against the freaking wall. What the [ __ ] You're hurting me. We're not doing nothing. You need to relax. We're trying to search you because if there's anything else at the jail, I don't want to put it in the CC. Do you understand? Yeah. Let her do her job. Not cuz you're hiding. You're hiding stuff. No, I'm not. Yes, you are. She's hiding. It's all the way in there. Where is it? No, I've Okay. No. What's in your pants? Tell me what's in my pants, dude. Then why don't you let us search it? No. No. No. Stop. You can't take them down here. Rip these pants off of me. No, you can't. Miss Gonzalez, is your body cam off? Oh, yeah. Sure is. Stop ripping. You can't take off my girlfriends, guys. Listen, there's something go to the bathroom and take it off. Listen to me. Listen to me. Listen to me. Do you want to go to the bathroom and have an opportunity to take it out? Yes or no? You're going to get charged with it anyway. Do you want to go to the bathroom and take it out? We could do this the easy way or we could do it the hard way. It's up to you. Put my pants on. No, put my pants on. No. You can't take my pants off, dude. Stop. Stop. No. Has to be in the front. Stop. Stop it, dude. Stop. It's got to be in the front. Stop. Go. Stop. Stop. Hey, you're putting your hand on my pants. Stop it. Stop putting your hand on my pants, dude. Don't get Stop putting your hand on my pants. Hey, dude. Your hands are in my vagina. Yes, they are. Stop. Stop. You're hurting me. Stop. You going to let her bugger into your pants or not? Stop. Are you going to let her button up your pants? No. Okay, then. I'm going to button your pants. No. Stop. Can you go? Okay. You're hurting me. Yeah. Nobody's doing anything. No. Ah, don't kill me. Where'd you find it at? Right here, bro. Perfect. Hold on. You guys are hurting me. I'm not doing nothing to you. Ow. You're hurting me. Just don't kick or you're going to get charged. I'm not trying to kick. Don't do nothing. Something's falling. Yeah, something is falling. Stop it. Stop. Put your leg down. Put your damn leg down. No, dude. You're trying. Don't. Ow. You hit me. Yeah, I did. Ow. Stop. Stop. You're using an excessive force. Stay on the ground. Stay on the ground. Stop. You're biting and you're kicking. Stay on the ground. Ow. You're hurting me. See, I'm done. My grandma. Ouch. What else is Oh, you guys are hurting me. No. Stop, dude. You're showing them my Stop. The woman kept racking up charges due to her erratic behavior, which seemed driven more by her focus on getting her next hit than any concern for her daughter. A pattern that had been applicable throughout the entire incident. You me in the face. Cuz you bit slapped me. You bit her video. Did you punch me? I have my video. I slapped you twice. You pushed me. You pushed me cuz you bit her and you kicked her. I tried biting her. No, you did. No, I didn't. It's right here. You're going to sit right here. I don't want to sit. You're going to sit down. I don't want to sit. Miss Gonzalez, you're going to sit down. I don't want them. Stop. Stop. Where are my shoes? I don't know where your shoes are. Just say where it's at. We already have We already found it. We already have you the pills on possession charges. Doesn't matter how much. It's already a possession charge. Period. So, just tell me what you have so we can get you help and get you out of here. The last time she swallowed like 20, 30 of them. That's what I'm saying. should probably put it inside either her or her. I don't know which one. Mhm. So, at the jail, they're going to put you in a scanner, a body scanner, and they're going to pick it up. Yeah. Refuse it. No, you can't refuse. I just And then you go on medical hold? Yes. Or die? So, you're just going to leave all your kids from overdosing or was it not that much? You're not going to say? She's been lying the whole time. What hurts right now? Nothing. Nothing. Do you want me to take a look? I heard your wrists were hurting. You sure? Okay. Then we're going to at least get some vital signs on you. Okay. You don't have a choice on that one. So, hun, we're going to do this the easy way for you. Let us help you out here or we have to take your room, hold you down, and get them. So, I'm getting vital signs on you one way or the other. Okay. That's not my bag. Whose bag is that? Why? Keep all the stuff in there. There's a video of you who brought it in and there's another one in there too. Is that his too? Huh? Is that his too? No, that's mine. My bad. Jesus Christ. It just smells like [Music] All right, let's go. Mr. Let's go. Oh, can you try the heater, please? The woman was charged with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, battery on a healthcare worker, possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and abuse. Moving on to the shocking case of a mother who took so many illegal substances that she passed out behind the wheel with her child strapped in the back seat. Oh my god. What the [ __ ] This I mean this is child men all day long. Yeah, I'm not a bad boy. On December 1st, 2023, officers responded to a gas station after receiving a report of a woman overdosing in her car with her child inside. You're good. She is ODed in the car. [Music] I don't know what that is. Narcan already. I She's got gigantic pupils, so I don't know what she took. Hey, sweetheart. Fire department. Get on the stretcher. Get on the stretcher. Come on. Get on the stretcher. All right, let's move back. Come on back. Oh my god. What the [ __ ] What have you taken? What have you taken? Get in the strap. What have you taken? After a while, the woman was conscious, but visibly under the influence. At this point, authorities had only scratched the surface of this incident and had still a lot to uncover, such as what she had taken and what the condition of the baby was. [Music] Bottles in there. You been drinking too? You been drinking? Alcohol. [Music] Sorry. Let me grab all these pills. They going they they going to be evidence as far as that. Okay. Well, I need to get the information off of Yeah. Because this I mean this is all day long. Yeah. So, she was still passed out and completely right there. Yeah. She should have been crying by now. Oh, go get your check. While paramedics attended to the mom and her child, officers got to talk to the callers who had witnessed the mom pass out in the car. Y'all the ones that called the reported that to them the whole thing happened. She just sitting in the car or she pulls up. I'm sitting on my friend waiting. She um I'm sitting there waiting for my friend. She pulls up. She sits there. I'm watching her. She was acting weird. and she put something to her face. About 10 minutes 10 to 15 minutes later, she was You didn't tell what you put to her face? I couldn't. I mean, I was sitting on the other side of the fire truck sign. Okay. Is this your vehicle? I'm ass. Okay. Did you see her or try to wake her up or anything? I did try to wake her up. I pulled up here to get gas and then I saw the guy like come in and knock on her window and I just felt bad. I didn't want to leave him. I just tried. I just kept knocking. He was revving. I was knocking. That was before she got here. Okay. Hearing the witness's accounts only reinforced suspicions of neglectful parenting where illegal contraband consistently took priority over the well-being of the child. To further investigate the woman's involvement with illegal substances, officers proceeded to search her vehicle. She could be smoking something, so we're probably going to have to search it, too. I'm trying to find an ID on her. Yeah, I know. That's There's no key to this car, either. Like when I turned it off, I literally just turned the thing. Like she has nothing like the name of that ID in the wallet, right? The mail. Yeah. Work for him. Which is weird that his wallet is sitting right here in the passenger seat. But you see that wallet? I want to run him. Good. 104. Copy one by Tennessee DL number. And just for your 14, the EMS had to break out the window and she's going to be signal 62. Yeah, this is she's signal 62 on alcohol and X and with the baby in the car. So, this is going to be something that probably DCF is going to have to come out for. birth certificate was for her, not for her. I just found a social officers quickly realized that the Department of Children and Families would likely get involved as it was clear the child wasn't safe with the mother. Coming up, the officers discussed the best way to handle her as her behavior grew increasingly erratic. She don't like me because she tried to reach out and touch me and I said I said if you touch me, it's going to be a problem. Problem now, she's drunken. She's drunk high. Is she going to get transported probably? Yeah. Is she? Yes. She's unfortunately worried about her going to the hospital. Claire Claire called us to offer her to work a single mom and I said I think she we need to make sure husband's not here because she told me he should be here but I don't know. You know that's what I was going to I'm want to just check. I don't remember what his name was. He's like under the impression that he's here that she's not making any sense. And then she tries to reach out and grab me. She just told me he was in the hospital. She said he's in the hospital right now. What hospital? What's the discharge? She doesn't know. Yeah. Joe be willing to fill out a statement for me about kind of what y'all saw and everything. Okay. Fire had to break out the side window and she still didn't wake up. And then she finally woke up when we were pulling her out onto the stretcher, but they off. And they asked her what she took and she made the spontaneous statement that she took. Did you give me any? No, she's not making a whole lot of sense. Like she says her husband or baby daddy is here, but then she told him that he's at the hospital, but then there's hospital discharge paperwork. The baby might be going by EMS, too. I don't know. They couldn't get a good pulse and different her eyes are EMS transported the woman to the hospital to check up on her. After that, the officers transported her to jail. And this was when she started to realize the nature of what she'd done. Anything. I don't do I be released tomorrow. I don't know what your bond is, but it's a it's a thirdderee felony. What? Yeah. Put your foot in, please. [Music] What the [ __ ] This isn't real life. So, please help me. What the [ __ ] I I I don't even get why it's okay. [Music] I remember I'm not a bad mom. I swear to God, I'm not. I'm the best mom to this girl. She's my best friend. Please don't treat me like I'm a piece of [ __ ] cuz I'm not being I understand that but I've never been in trouble before. I've never been in trf currently have her in the hospital. I know that. But she said if someone can get her. She said if someone can get her, they could take her. I'm so sorry, sir. I'm not the one you need apologizing. I know. I know. It's my daughter. I need a Where am I? You're in Milton. Melton? Yeah. How the did I end up in milking? Throughout the entire drive to the police station, the woman rambled non-stop, and it stood clear that she tried to gain sympathy from the officer. However, the officer knew exactly how this was going to end. My husband's going to leave me. I'm so cold. I look ridiculous. This is my first time ever meeting. How long am I going to be in jail for? Oh, your bond is set at what? No bond. I don't have a bond. So, can I go home? Nope. You be held at our county jail. Which is when? In the morning. Tomorrow morning. Yep. I'm so sorry, Ginsley. Oh my god. I'm so sorry. [Music] God, I [ __ ] hate myself. I don't even understand. I don't get I remember stopping at a friend. I should have never went to my friend's house. They're supposed to be like brothers with my husband. Oh god, I've never been in trouble before. I've never been in trouble before. I won't even see my will. I don't believe so now. No. When will I see my baby? The answer to that question. I need my husband to come. He's Oh, I know where he's at. He's in Lake View. He's probably trying to call his phone to get a hold of me. Oh, please. He's not going to know what's going on. I need someone to get a hold of me. Oh god. Oh god. What the [ __ ] The woman was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor possession of illegal contraband and neglect. Next, we look at the case where police discovered that these irresponsible parents had given their 5-year-old child illegal contraband, which he had then taken. You're not taking my kids, dude. I'm a trip the out. I do not want to do this while your kid is in your arms. Act like a mother. On May 20th, 2024, officers and detectives were dispatched to a residence to take custody of a couple's child after authorities discovered the child had tested positive for a controlled substance. How are you? We need to talk with you real quick. Is Brandon the cops here? Why? No idea, hun. I'm here for them. They can talk to you. When when spraying get tired? Um, so this morning the agency filed for emergency testing of the children. You're got me up due to why testing positive again for THC. Dude, Ryland or Rail or whatever the tested positive four goddamn times before you to you're not taking my kids off. I'm not playing right now. You'll go to jail. Take me.
