you went out with some guy and it's not your husband to a party. >> I said my husband's a cop. Like I'm not killing this. >> We all in triangle. She having sex with both of us. >> He was like, "Oh, this is who you talking to?" And I was like, "No, I haven't been talking to him. Spencer and I are just screaming. Oh, you playing with me at XYZ." Just going off. And then I just laid it back down. I'm like, "Okay, I'm not doing this with you right now." >> Being a police officer means being trained to handle the worst situations imaginable. But what happens when officers are forced to face the fact that their wives are being unfaithful? >> Who showed up? >> My husband, Josh Mali. Josh is in APD. Josh, >> we've been having an affair for months now. He knows about it. She just lies to him that it's not happening. It is still happening. >> These were the moments when officers caught their wives cheating on them. We begin with a welfare check on a woman found alone on the street. But as officers dug into what happened, the story behind how she got there pointed straight back to her husband's world. >> A lot of what you're saying might not be true >> and that it's your wife. >> Like I'm pretty sure he wanted to like plant drugs in my husband's car so that when I leave he can call, tell him that I'm in the car. >> What happened with your wedding ring? I have to pawn it because he made me do it so he can pay his dealer. >> On April 26th, 2024, officers responded to a call about a woman found on the street in a vulnerable state. But what started as a welfare check turned into something much more serious. >> Where was she physically last? >> So after it was recorded, Holly Hill, >> oh, we have family all over driving. >> They saw the car. By the time they can get turned around, the cars >> we turned around. We pul we saw it from the road from that parking spot right there. We pulled in there, went right around that building. By the time we came around, she was gone. >> Has there been any additional communication since? >> Yeah, but she's saying like she can't leave because the person she's with took the keys from her, so she can't leave. >> Is she saying where she's at? >> No, she didn't tell me where she was at. But >> I mean, there's a little narcotical stuff involved, too. Yeah. So, she a lot of what she's saying might not be true, but she does have mental illness. She is off her meds and she does have >> got forced into doing hard selling my wedding ring. All this currently on foot looking to get uh enough heroin in to overdose and I'll go down by the beach and enjoy my high till I die. You know, saying she's going to, you know, kill herself. I'm begging for her location. Um, she's like, "I never did heroin yet. I know it can kill you easily." >> The last message I have is at 447. She said, "Selling myself on Richmond for money so I can eat for the first time in 8 days." >> Okay. >> And then it's your wife. >> Yeah. >> And she's blood sister. >> My blood sister. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What what mental illness does she have? >> Sheip onto bipolar. Um I can show you the meds. The therapist or whatever she didn't give like an actual diagnosis diagnosis. She said she thinks it's bipolar and she gave her >> speaking with the husband and sister. It became clear that this was not a simple [music] missing person case. While in another location, the woman was about to reveal to the officers what had happened between her and the man who stole her keys. >> So you guys didn't even hook up? We literally had one time. >> Was that this morning? >> No. No. God, I wouldn't let him come near me. How >> So, how did this morning happen or this at 2:00 in the morning? >> I was trying to leave. I needed my keys. >> You give me the keys. >> So, you were trying trying to get your keys from inside the residence. Yeah. cuz he wanted to leave and he had the door shut and >> No, the door wasn't shut. It was cracked open, but I refused to go in there. >> Okay. So, he wasn't like preventing you to come in. >> I I asked him to name my key. It's his room, his name. >> I was not welcome to come in. So, I stood outside and asked for my keys. >> Okay. >> And then, of course, as soon as I started leaving, it's if you [ __ ] leave, I'll kill you. I'll do this. I'll do that. Like I'm pretty sure he wanted to like plant in my husband's car so that when I leave he can call the cops and tell him that I'm in the car. >> And then >> I'm just trying to do whatever I can to not get in trouble. So he's >> That's when the the lock box was thrown at you. >> Yeah. >> And then and then you threw whatever item back. >> Yeah. The plastic piece. >> The plastic. >> It's like a divider. >> Okay. The plastic divider. And then after that you ran Did you have your keys or something? >> Yeah, I was parked by our hotel room. >> Okay. So, you got your keys. You end up getting keys back >> and I drove around to the other side of the hotel and parked by gas to get home. Huh? >> Were you meeting on? >> I have no money. Literally, like I was about to pawn my watch to get gas to get home. >> What happened with your wedding ring? >> I had to pawn it because he made me do it so he can pay his dealer. By making you What do you mean? >> Give me an ultimatum. Do you want something to happen to you and your family? No. All right. Well, here's my wedding ring. I don't take threats lightly. Like, especially not my family, not my two girls. He knows where I live. I And he's a felon. Like, he'll do anything. He's a >> That's him. No, he he just got arrested on VC. >> He should be on there. S C H M O N. >> And then I really set him off because he um when he started like screaming and smacking his chest at the I was like it was like what are you going to strangle me and then me from calling the cops? And he was like, "Well, my record." And I was like, "You just say yes or no." >> What the woman described was deeply upsetting. But what came next would show just how her connection with Tim was really even more toxic than expected. >> I feel like I'm going to pass out. I've drank maybe three bottles of water in 8 days. >> Have you been texting Tim? >> No, I haven't. >> He took it from you? >> No. Oh, you thought you >> No, I'm talking not right the second, but in these two weeks or however long, 8 days, >> he likes to call. He doesn't like to text. >> Gotcha. >> I've been trying to go back home and then every time I tell him I'm going to go home, he's like, "Well, your cop your your pig husband is going to keep you there. He's going to lock you up there." >> How come you never told your sister or whatever while they were looking for you where you were at if you needed help? Because my sister's not here to help me. >> What's she doing? >> My sister is literally the nosiest person in the world. I don't want I don't want my family thinking that I'm doing because I like to do that. Now Jessica likes to do. No, I was forced them. But no one's going to listen to me. So, I don't want to sit here and explain myself to people who have their own opinions and theories in their head and make up these scenarios that they're going to run with and believe if everything that comes out of my mouth is a lie. >> Well, she called four police departments to try to find you because you said that you were being held hostage and was going to kill yourself and take a bunch of heroin and overdose in the ocean >> on the beach. because I would rather do that than be in a room with him or be near him. If I was home at my home family life, I would never think about God. I would never take myself from my kids. I would never myself. But being in a situation like this and being afraid to leave and what he's going to do, he knows where I live. being afraid of that. Like, yeah, I'd rather be than be here with you. >> You don't think that your cop husband could have protected you? >> I didn't want to tell him what I was doing. >> That you were cheating? >> No, no, no. Not about that. I didn't want him to know like I'm being held hostage and I'm being fed down my throat. It all started because I like an idiot told them that my husband's a cop. >> It started prove I'm not an >> informant. You went out with some guy that's not your husband to a party >> and you're sneaking away with some guy. >> Yeah. No, the start. That's not how the started started because when we were there and I said my husband's a cop, like I'm not doing this. They thought I was an informant and I was going to try and get everybody arrested. So, the only way to prove that that wasn't the case, they made me smoke. >> At this point, her account wasn't adding up. She claimed she had been held against her will, but the details kept shifting and officers weren't convinced. As officers weren't fully buying her account, they decided to press her for the actual truth. >> You went home after that? >> No, not like that. >> Well, that was two weeks ago, right? >> Yeah. I don't know how many times I've been home in 2 weeks. I've literally have never been on in my life. >> Well, you weren't held hostage for two weeks. >> I didn't say I was held hostage for two weeks. These last few days I've been >> So this Tim guy >> is he being okay. Is it Is he being held hostage if he wants to hear my keys? >> From a couple days ago. >> From a couple days ago. Yeah. >> To me it is. >> You were out texting. You had your phone and you were texting your sister and probably other people facetiming. >> Oh, was I supposed to have them go there? >> Could have said something. >> What? >> You were out. I'm going to I'm just saying that the the messages that I was reading do not give the impression of I'm being held hostage by this guy that said he's going to kill me and my family if I don't take this. And it read. >> That's your opinion. >> Oh, no. I'm not I'm not but I'm just saying that's just how it read and I I'm I'm not the one I'm not held hostage by a guy so I can't tell you but >> you know I'm I'm just saying >> you're painting this picture of this dude which he's probably a dirt bag. >> Oh, here you go. I know where you're going with this one. Okay, I'm done talking. >> Where am I going? >> Painting this picture of this dude when you're the one. I know what you're going to say. I'm not going anywhere. I'm just getting out of the car. I need to stand up. >> Don't worry. I'm not stupid. I'm not going to run. [ __ ] >> I'm just saying I never met this guy. He sounds like bad guy. >> He is a bad guy. When you meet him, you probably think he's very nice, very manipulative. >> I hope I never meet him. >> I hope when you do, he has his lock box on him that has in it. He gets arrested. >> Me, too. He sounds like he belongs in jail. And every time my husband texted me or my sister or my mom would text me, he would tell me like, "Don't respond. What did they say first? Say this. Say this. Say this. Tell Tell them what he's telling me to say. cuz I'm afraid to not listen to it. >> In the end, the woman was taken to the police station. [music] Next, what should have been a typical domestic dispute became something far more awkward because when the dispatched officer arrived on scene, he realized the woman involved was actually his girlfriend. >> This your man, a >> look, can we be professional here? >> I just want you to welp. Ain't no telling homie whoever need me. >> What the [ __ ] >> On June 29th, 2025, what appeared to be a straightforward domestic dispute call turned into anything but. When the officer met the couple, their faces were quite familiar. >> Hey, what's going on? >> I need my phone. >> Okay. Uh do you have any outside of course my devices, do you have any other way of contacting it right now? self contacting him. >> Contacting your phone, like being able to call it. >> No, I >> if you don't Okay, I'll get my phone or what? Um, so you just want your phone back? >> Okay. >> Okay. Um, and then I already talked to him earlier. He stated some other stuff. Most most of that is civil and whatnot. So, >> look, >> I know. I know. But >> most of that is civil. So, regarding vehicles and whatnot, I'll explain that to him in front of you, also in front of him. Um, keys, I understand, you know, of course, last time we talked, you did try to get yourself off police and whatnot. So, if that is indeed true and you're he's the only one on the lease, you can't >> He never did it. He never released. >> No, I know. I'm I'm saying just >> I know I'm saying. >> So, if that is the case, you can't take the key. He from what he told me that you have the key. >> It's a set of key. >> That's one and his was in the house. >> Okay. >> He just couldn't get in cuz I lost it. He left before I did and I lost it. >> Okay. So, I'll we'll we'll all have that conversation. Um if you can go up there and just ask him to politely come out. If not, sit here and then I'll go up there and ask him to come out >> cuz I don't we don't need no fights for nothing. She's uh she's over there and whatnot. Um, she's called about a cell phone. I already know you spoke to me earlier about, you know, the keys and whatnot. Um, so I already kind of explained that to her, but I wanted I told her I want to say it also in front of you. So, she understands that you know what is going on. >> Pressing charges, bro. She li on the lip. >> Yeah. >> I ain't put a touch at all. >> At this point, the couple was pointing fingers at each other, but neither was backing down. The back and forth was going nowhere and the officer caught in the middle had to find a way to handle it in one way or another. >> Look uh here. >> All right. >> Where the [ __ ] [ __ ] PC >> you here? You stand over here. All right. We're not We're not standing close to each other again. >> Okay. But I just want all my stuff. >> You told me none of your mouth and everything. >> I just want my stuff. >> This whole hell, bro. >> You ripped my last What's your phone number? >> She know my phone number. >> That's crazy, bro. You nasty. You [ __ ] both of us unprotected. >> Look, I need I need your phone number for the report. >> That's crazy. Yeah. Regardless, >> stop playing. >> So, regardless of whatever that is, >> I'm not worried about that. >> So, you want to >> and my fan. >> This my fan. Cut it out, bro. >> I can call now. Move. >> Jump on her. >> I'mma beat the out. I swear to God. >> All right. What I'll do is is I'll call the phone while it rings. It's not. >> Please give the phone back to her. All right. >> That is her property. Same thing with >> she took it. >> Look at this. >> Oh, this says 44. >> Look at that [ __ ] >> All right. >> You probably got them too, don't you? >> No. >> Yeah, I know. >> Exactly. >> Did too. >> You're a weirdo. >> Yeah. Shut up. You a weirdo. I need you out my house. And can I get my keys, please? Don't worry. I tow my car in the morning. >> Yeah, get my keys. You talking about car keys or you talking about house key? >> The house key. We get a set. He has >> That's my Hyundai key. >> My [clears throat] key Nissan my [ __ ] >> And once I get my phone, I can show you that I'm still on this lease, which is why still the key and my teeth are still in the apartment. >> I'm I'm going explain all that. All right. >> Come here, boy. So, >> get on me. >> The fact that she's saying that she's on the leash, you're saying that she's not that civil. I would say just go to the cat master court. I'll give you information and whatnot. Same with you. >> You can file for eviction. Walk through it. He'll walk you through it. Look, >> you can file for eviction. >> This your man, ain't it? >> I'm grown. >> Look, can can I can Can we be professional here? >> Can we be professional here? >> You grown, sir. >> You're not grown. You goddamn have my baby and [ __ ] in front of everybody else. Your baby, >> sir. Sir, can I please explain to you >> the eviction thing? >> You're weird. You >> Well, the eviction You go up to the cat master tomorrow. I ain't worried about nothing. >> Go to the cat master court. >> Get my key to my car, bro. I know how it go. >> Same. Same with that. >> I know how it go. >> She's, you know, saying that it's hers. You're saying that it's yours in this house. I ain't going to lie to you, bro. I just want you to watch yourself, bro. >> Okay. >> She [ __ ] unprotected. Ain't no telling who else clean up, >> bro. You both unprotected. >> I I could care less about >> Come on, expose me, please. I I could care less about outside stuff. We're talking about what what was called >> y All right. I I really do not want to raise my voice for all. >> Can we please >> look? She going to listen to that. >> Can we Can we please? >> With the boyfriend mad about the situation with the officer. And with the girlfriend focusing on nothing but getting her phone, the situation was becoming more difficult to manage. >> But can we get the phone? >> Hey. Hey. Sorry. Sorry. I just I just [ __ ] you earlier. >> He got his story out. What I'm supposed to do about my phone? Cuz I need my phone. >> I have a whole child. >> I have work and he got my stuff in his head right now being petty. >> It's mine. >> I will call again. >> It's mine, honey. Call it. Yeah. Call. >> It's going to be on solid. He's not going to have it on wring. >> Call it. >> Just walk around. I'll call. All right. >> No. >> Call it. Stop touching my stuff, bro. It might be touching my stuff. You just >> Watch out. Stop touching my stuff. >> Let me call my stuff. >> Let me call first. So then >> get out the car. >> Get out. Go look where you ma'am. >> It's on silent. I'm not going to find it. I tried locating it on find. He turned off. I don't know how >> he probably turned the phone off. That's why. >> I hope you got all attacking me and [ __ ] No favoritism now. I'm I'm not doing nothing. I'm trying I'm trying to sit here and do >> me in the door. >> Look, can y'all please stop talking to each other? Can y'all please stop talking to each other? >> We having this cuz we all in a triangle. She having for both of us. >> No, not here because you have my phone. >> Look, I can explain. >> He both I'm talking to both y'all. >> I want my phone. >> Yeah. Let him talk. Let explain, bro. This all because of him cuz 100. Look. And I've been to South Y. >> No, be 100. Y'all talk, right? >> Oh my Jesus. >> He what's going on? >> So pretty much I get a random call from here. So I'm like, "All right, cool." >> Okay. He said, "Hey, what's up?" They say, "Hey, what's up? >> Stay in there. Stay in there. Don't stay in there." >> When the police officer asked the boyfriend for more details about the fight, he had a whole speech ready to deliver. We was laying down. >> Mhm. >> You know, doing that thing. >> Mhm. >> Then her phone rings. So I picked it up. It was him. >> Okay. >> And that's how we got the argument. And she she snatched her phone out my hand and punched me in the face. >> And I left and that was it. >> I'm trying to figure out what what they got going. I got messages and everything between these two. I got locked up the first time between this [ __ ] bro. >> But they backstage it. Truma know what's going on. They backstage it and everything, bro. >> So what happened today? today. Same thing. She got mad. She got mad cuz uh her phone ringing. Not ain't going to say a phone ringing. I had it. She let me see the phone. It ringing. It was him. So, >> okay. And you went through the phone? >> Yeah. And I said, "Damn." Cuz he we talked like man to man get over this [ __ ] Oh, I ain't doing that no more. Woohoo. Cuz she supposed to be pregnant or whatever and all this [ __ ] So, I'm feeling sorry. I let her see my car and everything. Her car down. >> Do you live here? >> Yeah, most definitely. My name. So you live here with her? Yeah. >> She doesn't live here. >> She don't be here. >> Did she live here? >> She stay here hand. She be at his house majority of the night. >> It was clear that the argument had escalated well before the police arrived. But when it was time to check the woman's account of what happened, her version brought a suspicious point of view. >> What's going on? >> He got upset cuz I was saying established that we weren't together. We weren't going to make anything work. But once he saw that, he woke me up out of my sleep. Like, oh, you doing XYZ, da da da da da. He took my phone. That's the main reason why we're here. I don't have my phone. He cut it off. So, I couldn't check it on fine line. But I do have messages from him saying that he's not going to give it back. So, I just want my phone. When I woke up, that's all I saw. He had Spencer on the phone. >> And you guys laying in bed and he called it from your phone or whatever. Was it your phone or his phone? >> It was my phone. He took my phone while I was sleeping. It was unlocked. And then argument began while you were in bed, right? >> And then I presume you he wasn't on the phone long with Spencer. >> No. >> And then what happened? >> He just watched it and he was like, "Oh, this is who you talking to?" And I was like, "No, I haven't been talking to him." Spencer and I are just friends. >> What happened in between that time? Did he take your Did you take your phone again or did he never give you back your phone after taking it? >> Yeah. Like I said, when we were laying down, he did show me that Spencer was on the phone. After that, he hung up at about 10 seconds. Then he um when I got up, he walked around and just paced around. Oh, you playing with me? XYZ just going off. And then I just laid it back down. I'm like, "Okay, I'm not doing this with you right now." He threw the phone back down at me. That's when I gather everything. I grabbed my purse, grabbed the keys, grabbed some clothes, and um I grabbed my phone. Then I went out to my other car, which is the white Nissan parked over there. I'm not sure if the surveillance camera can catch it, but I got in that car. I was about to go. He reached his arm through the window and snatched my phone and he said, "Yeah, you're not getting back." And he came in here. I followed him here. The neighbor's ring camera could show you I followed him in here. Um, and he went back out with my phone. He said, "You're not getting back." >> I'm asking one more time. You got a phone? Yes or no? Did you take your phone at any point? >> No, sir. >> You did. You didn't take your phone from the car? >> Nope. >> Okay. So, I check that camera and they show it and you're lying. You know you're going to jail, right? >> Do you? >> All right. >> How do you get the mark on this place? >> I did in the face. >> How? Why? cuz he ripped my lashes out. Half of my lashes are gone. >> So y'all fighting? >> Yeah, he he basically just grabbed me by the freaking eyelash and it was just a reflex. I hit him in the >> You live here? >> I do. >> So y'all both live here? >> But I have not been here lately. >> So you both live here? >> Yes, we're both on the lease. >> Where you been? >> I've been at my sister's house. Like I said, she lives around the corner. >> You should go back to your sister's house. >> I am >> right now. >> Okay. What about my phone though? Do I not get my phone back? >> I don't know what's going on with the phone. You got to tell me different stories. >> That is And I got no way to prove I got no way and I don't got no way to prove that he got your phone. So you better you better just go back to your sister's house. >> That is crazy. All this I've been calling, man, I got proof and everything. Nobody ever did nothing to him. But now I goddamn my phone is [ __ ] gone. I can't do nothing about it. >> You don't got no proof. And y'all told me two different stories. >> What proof? Of course you know I'm a lie. I It's a whole camera. >> Like I said, you need proof. The guy's not supposed to be the camera. Yeah, check the Nobody's there. I can't check the cameras. >> Okay. What about their camera? >> No, I can't. >> So, you need to leave. >> With both sides heard, there was still one version of events that nobody had addressed yet. It was time for Officer Spencer to tell what led to that fight and how he was involved in it. >> Earlier >> Mhm. >> got a random phone call from uh Dean. >> Mhm. >> FaceTime call. >> It was her number, right? >> Her number. Okay. >> It was never his number. >> Okay. >> I answered him. >> I saw his face. >> Okay. >> So, I was like, "Okay." I know they be around each other sometimes. I'm like, "All right, whatever." From there, when he shows, I see that they're laying in bed together. I'm like, "Okay, cool. Whatever. I don't care." >> He was like, "Yeah, man. You know, like I'm kind of just done with her." So, on so forth. I'm like, "Hey, man. Look, honestly, the way it kind of looks, like she's saying one thing to you, but it's a saying probably something else to me. And it it just seems like what she wants is more polyatomic relationship. He was like, "What's that?" So I explained to him cuz I had a friend that wanted that. >> Mhm. >> And I was like, you know, they want someone who can be their main piece, but they also want to do stuff with other people. >> And so I was like, you know, I said at that I think we need to have a sit down conversation, all three of us, and actually talk about what is it that she want. And that's what you said >> and that's what I said. And then he kept interrupting like no like I don't really want to talk to her and whatnot and so on so forth and I'm like you know I understand like at that point like yeah he was like yeah man you know you know uh you have a baby or something and he said some other stuff and then he said you know take my keys. I was like she took your keys. He was like yeah. I said well I should take your keys and he just kind of just looked at me. I'm like, but still like they asked like you can easily just say, "Oh, well, because we had an argument because about you and that's when she said Jesus." >> Did he have a bus to live at this time too? >> At that time, that's when he eventually mentions that he has a bus to live. And then I looking and then was like, you know, I ain't trying to do all this. I'm just going to figure out a way to get my apartment. Bye. [music] And I was like, okay. >> Okay. So, after you guys had your discussion, he left. >> Yep. And that's when I texted Deisha and I said, "Look, be serious. There needs to be a serious sit down conversation." At that point, that's when Johnson was like, "Oh, those people's, you know, having um another incident." And I'm like, "Oh gosh." And next thing you know, I hear 616 me. So, I'm like, "Okay, well, I kind of know what the situation is. [music] So, I'm going to get his information and I'll call for backup if I need backup." I get there, you know, it's kind of calm at first. So that's why I said, "Hey, you know, 10:25." Um, so I get there, I see that she's there. Um, at first I thought it was him going >> until I saw that says something about took phone and meet with a silver uh Hyundai. So I was like, well, no, he drives a price. So that's not him. That must be her. >> So that was So they You came back here, >> right? What time did you come back here? I'm not even sure you asked it's on maybe I'm not sure. It was sometime after that. Okay. >> So, probably around 5 [music] exactly. >> Mhm. >> Possibly. >> And then I left from there. >> And you told you you talked to Corala. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then Johnson told you >> Mhm. >> that there was a call pending, >> right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then I got dispatched to the court. I didn't request. >> It was not published to the news what her charges were. Next, an officer had been dealing with his wife's infidelity for months, but when [music] he finally tracked down the man she'd been seeing, the confrontation turned physical. >> Just came down and jumped to me and started hitting me in the head. >> Do you know him? This is his wife. Yeah, it'll escalate even worse. Like he may put you in the hospital or worse. >> He's not right in the head. >> Who showed up? >> My husband Josh. >> Josh is in APD. Josh, >> on November 12th, 2017, the police responded to a call at a local park after reports of a man who was roughly attacked, but the officer found when he arrived would quickly point the investigation in an unexpected direction. >> So, what happened? >> Uh, someone ran down the hill. I was sitting here exercising and just >> 30-year-old male uh multiple blows to the head. Uh, swelling on the side of the face. He is conscious and breathing. Uh, >> just came down and jumped to me and started me in the head. >> Do you know him? Yeah. >> Okay. >> And from what I understand, this is his wife. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Speaking with the man, it became obvious that what looked like a random attack had a very different story behind it. >> Did you lose consciousness at all? >> No. >> Did he just use his hands, feet? >> I think just his hands. Yeah. >> Okay. You >> good, buddy? >> Yeah. He's not here and he doesn't want to press charges anyway. It's an ongoing issue. It's just never been violent. Now it's violent. All right. >> And I think it may be cuz the the chick that's over here is the wife >> of the other dude >> of the suspect. >> Oh, >> so it might be uh you're sleeping with my wife, but he was over here working out and the guy just came down here and beat the crap out of him. Okay, Sean, because you don't want to press charges. Um what I'm going to do is I'm going to write anformational report on this. It's going to have you, it's going to have him, and it's going to have her >> um on press charges. I've ever been in one fight in my entire life. >> So if you feel like this is an ongoing thing and it's just escalated to this, nine times out of 10, I can't even say that. Sometimes it'll escalate even worse. Like he may put you in the hospital or worse. >> He's not ready. >> John's reluctance to press charges despite the severity of the attack said a lot about how complicated the situation really was. But what was about to make everything significantly more complicated was who the husband turned out to be. >> And who who showed up? >> My husband. >> Okay. What's your husband's name? >> Josh Malik. >> Huh? >> Josh Maliki. >> Josh is in APD. Josh. >> So I'll ask you again. Sean, do you want to press charges? I mean, it's totally up to you. If you don't feel safe, if you feel like this is going to progress onto some, it's going to get written up anyway. And >> what does that mean? >> Um, there's going to be a report made >> and it's going to go >> I take you know who her husband is. >> Yeah. So, it's going to go up through the department >> is too, right? >> Yeah. It's going to go up through the department and it's going to go to internal affairs because he still is an employee. But if you don't feel safe, >> I mean, even after this, if something else happens, call us back. >> I don't know what she's going to do. I just want her to be safe because he's he's not stable, obviously. >> Yeah. I mean, >> and you've never had any issues with him? >> She hasn't mentioned anything to you. >> What do you mean not physical? >> He's never me. >> Okay. There's been a I mean that time when he did his whatever he was coming to try to find me. I'm pretty sure. So >> Oh, the incident. The incident. >> Yeah. At least that's what you told me cuz she called me frantic on the phone saying he just left drunk in a car and he's looking for you. I'm like, "Oh, that's great." I wasn't living at the place I'm living now, somewhere else. But uh Okay. >> Cuz we've been having an affair for months now. and um he knows about it and she just lies to him that it's not happening and it's still happening and she won't leave him because she's scared. >> But I'm just a nice guy. >> Stephanie, you going to be good? >> Yeah. >> You going to be okay going home? >> Uh I'll probably stay away for a little while. >> Go over there with my mom. We'll see. >> In the end, Shawn didn't press charges against Josh Malik. Next up, what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop took an [music] unexpected turn when the officer realized that the woman behind the wheel was someone a fellow officer knew a little too well. >> And I understand that you're driving your dad, but you're telling me you're just getting out of bed. You don't look like somebody just got out of bed. >> Hello. Are you're her father? >> No, that's a friend. >> He knows Miguel. Who's Miguel? You know Miguel? >> He's my boyfriend. My fianceé, actually. >> On July 19th, 2024, what began as a routine traffic stop for a vehicle without tail lights gave no immediate cause for concern. But what was about to surface would be beyond a simple driver [music] mistake. >> Hi, how are you? >> How are you? I'm Deputy Orange at the sheriff's office. The reason I'm stopping you is that you're >> your lights aren't on. >> New cars. >> So sorry. >> What happened? >> New car. She has no idea. Yeah, new car. >> Okay. Where are you guys coming from? >> I just picked them up. >> Sh. >> All right. So, he's the one >> he's the one that smells like alcohol. No, I literally just picked him up. I just got out of bed. >> The story the driver was giving didn't quite add up as she claimed to have just picked the passenger up. Yet, the officer could sense a smell of and that was reason to look a little closer at what was really going on. >> You've had nothing to drink tonight. >> Okay. The reason I'm asking because the smell is like really bad. >> No, I get it. >> No, that that's completely I can do whatever you would like to do. >> I just like woke up and picked them up. So, >> okay. I'm going have you step up for one second. Okay. All right. Just put your feet together, hands at your side. Okay. >> I'm just doing this really quick to make sure cuz I I believe it's him because I can tell by the way he's talking, but I have to make sure that it's not. Okay. All right. You're going to follow this with your eyes and your eyes only. You see it? >> All right. Keep keep it on. So, you have some jerking in your eyes. Are you? >> Yeah. No, I know. I have a stigmatism in my eyes. >> You have a stigmatism? >> I do. >> You've had nothing to drink. >> No, sir. >> You woke up and you went and picked him up. >> Yes, sir. >> I understand that you're driving your dad, but you're telling me you're just getting out of bed. You don't look like somebody just got out of bed. >> Okay, that's fine. >> Okay. Um, like I said, as I can tell, he's intoxicated. I I have never had contact with you before. >> Okay. I don't know you. Um, so tell me what you've done tonight from >> like >> all night from say 8:00 to now >> 8:00 p.m. >> 8:00 p.m. >> 8:00 p.m. I was at Show Me the Money with my grandma. >> Okay. >> Up at Homestead. >> Okay. >> At American Legion. And then I came down here um went and saw my parents. They just flew in from New Jersey. So I saw them. I said hi. >> Oh, and my brother gave birth. My brother's fiance or wife, I guess. >> Okay. Tonight, >> uh around 400 p.m. today. >> Last night. >> You've had from 8:00 till now, you have not had a drop of alcohol. at 6 p.m. I've had a shot of um >> a whiskey. I don't I don't even know. >> At 6. So since 6 and it was the only thing you had was one shot at 6 p.m. you've had nothing else. Have you eaten since 6 p.m.? >> No, sir. >> As the field sobriety test got underway, the driver's answers were doing little to clear things up. Between the smell, her eye movements, and a passenger who was visibly intoxicated, the officer had plenty of reasons to keep pressing. >> Hello. Are you're her father? Oh, that's just a prank. >> It's a prank. >> All right. So, here's what I'm going to have you do. Just like we did over there, >> you're going to stand here. You're going to face me. Okay? You're going to stand with your feet together like this, arms at your side. Okay? Just like we did over there. You see this? This is what we're going to call the stimulus. Okay? With your right index finger, I want you to touch the very top of this pin. >> Right now? >> Right now. >> Okay. >> I was looking right now. >> You're fine. All right. Put your hands back at your side. Just like before, you're going to follow this with your eyes and your eyes only. Do not move your head. When I bring it all the way out here, keep following it as far as you can. And when you reach as far as you can, keep your eyes in. Okay. >> Okay. All right. Do you normally talk with a slur? Do you have is anybody >> speech impediment? Yes, I do have a >> You do have a speech impediment. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Here's um >> like my whole life. >> I got you. I'm just asking. >> No, I understand. >> Okay. So, you see where I'm standing? You're going to stand right here. Right where I'm standing. Hands at your side, feet together, facing this way. Okay. You if you want, you can do this exercise with those or you can do it barefoot. Whatever. Doesn't matter. You said you're an EMT. Where are you an EMT at? >> Uh down here. I just finished my school down here. >> I got you. >> All right. So, here's what you're going to do. Left foot. This is an imaginary line. Okay. >> So, you're going to imagine a line here. You got your left foot on that line. You are going to put your right foot directly in front of your left foot. Heel to toe. All right. You may begin. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 That was kind of like >> Okay. You said that 6:00 you took a shot. What? What did you take a shot of? >> No, I didn't have a shot. I had a glass of wine with my grandmother showing me the money out there. >> Okay. All right. I'm going to have you turn around for me. Okay. >> Put your hands together like you're praying. Like you can give room. I'm not trying to hurt you or anything like that. >> You will be given the opportunity to provide a breath sample. Okay. I'm going to take this off. >> Do you have your >> Can I call my mom? >> I will allow you to call your mom. How old are you, Miss Sher? Key. >> I am 23. I would like to call my mom to for her to drive my car. >> That's not That's not how that happened. >> By this point, the driver had changed her story more than once with her answers becoming increasingly inconsistent. The officer had heard enough, but she wasn't ready to give up just yet, and the person she was about to ask for help was the last one the officers expected. >> Marggo, you know, my girlfriend, can you please phone? >> No, don't call anybody right now. He knows Miguel. Who's Miguel? You know Miguel? >> He's FWC. He's my boyfriend. My fiance, actually. >> Okay, that's fine. Who's the guy in the car? >> Like I said, >> he's a friend. >> Picked him up. >> You just picked up a random person? >> No, he was aist. >> He was just a friend at Sharkies. >> I knew him before. He called me for a ride and I knew I was giving him. >> I have no idea what that is. >> You You were drinking beer. You have no idea what that is. >> I have no idea what that is. >> It's not yours. >> No. >> Whose is it? >> Not mine. I have no idea. >> I'm going to put you smell alcohol in here. >> Little bit like barely. >> That's not yours? >> No, sir. >> All right. Go home. There's a drink inside the car. Red drink with a lime and a black straw. This gentleman is saying isn't his. >> I don't know what to tell you. I'm sorry. Like that's not my drink. >> Have you been driving people around? >> Yes, sir. >> Other people? >> Yes, sir. >> Right here. Look. >> There it is right there. >> What is that? >> Cooler's light. So, two open containers in the >> After all the officers found in the scene and after hearing what the woman had to say, it was time to let her FWC fiance find out what was happening. >> Hello, this is Deputy Orange with the Monro County Sheriff's Office. Um, I have somebody that wants to talk to you, so I'm going to put the phone up to my separator. Just be advised that my incar camera and body camera are rolling. Okay. >> Hello. Can you hear me? Yeah. >> Yeah. So, just out of professional courtesy for you working for FWC is the only reason I'm even making this call. >> Um, so just whatever you want to know, I'll let you know. >> Did you feel so burned? >> Uh, yes, she did. There were two open containers found inside the vehicle. One in the cup holder, um, which she's saying was not hers, and then a beer that was thrown behind her seat that was still full, but open. It was just a cup and a beer. >> Yeah, it was a mixed drink and then a beer. >> Okay. And where by Sharkies? >> Um by Yeah, by Sharkies >> and Yes. Yeah. There's nothing I can really do, boss. I I'm sure you if you work down here, you know that this is >> I started down there. So, >> yeah. Yeah. So, um yeah, she's going to go to the jail. She's saying that she's going to provide a breast sample, which if that's what she wants to do, she's she's grown. She can do that. In the end, the driver was charged with DUI, refusal to submit to a DUI test after a license suspension, and possession of cocaine.
