What can I do to help you out? [snorts] >> To help me out first would be honest answers. >> I'm literally telling you the honest answer and nobody wants to believe it. >> I mean, based off of the chats and what we have, Trevor, it doesn't really make much sense. >> This part is kind of not allowing me to talk. >> I'm not going to let you hide behind that. Be a man about it and honest about it. >> Most people assume that a badge comes with accountability. But what happens when officers do sinister things no one is looking until realizing they were being tracked all along? >> Hi, we're currently being recorded. Well, I just smashed his front door in. Give me a second. >> We're not going to give you A >> YES, YOU ARE. I'm calling my PBA. >> These are the moments when officers didn't realize they were being recorded. Starting with the case of a deputy with nearly a decade on the force who thought no one would notice his misconduct. But what investigators uncovered after tracing the deputy's internet activities would expose a disturbing secret. >> And then having these rates in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? >> I wish that none of this was going on right now, but yes, sure. I'll talk >> again. Let's stay away from the plane down here. I downloaded because someone told me to look at something and it turned out to be >> How many files? >> I mean, a lot. >> On July 1st, 2024, investigators with the Panelis County Sheriff's Office made their way to the county jail to confront 33-year-old Deputy Trevor Willis, one of their own. When the investigators went after him, Trevor had no idea about what was going to happen next. >> Hi. >> Hey, come check out this tag back here. You got this uh something's wrong with your tag. I didn't know you were. So for this chain back up there. >> Yeah, we do. >> Absolutely. >> Pull his arm out. >> Gotcha. >> All right. Thank you. >> When officers approached Trevor, he offered no resistance. What Trevor didn't know yet was that inside that interrogation room, detectives were about to ask questions they already had answers for. >> I know. I'm sure that you have a bunch of questions. your name came up in a case of mine that I think you'll be able to help me out with. Um, and I want to hear everything you have to say. I want to clear some things up. And then having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? >> Uh, I wish that none of this is going on right now, but yes, sure. I'll talk. >> Okay. Yeah, I can definitely understand that. So, you mentioned uh Facebook Messenger. What other social media apps do you use? How about Kick? What >> Kick? >> Really? >> Yeah. Really? What is Kick? social media app. >> I've heard of like WhatsApp, but okay. >> WhatsApp is another one. Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, here I am sitting in front of you affording you an opportunity to clear some things up and to explain things. Everything's explainable. >> Mhm. >> Right. So, right now I just have one side of something and I'd really like to get your side and it involves your kick account. >> Okay. So, let's stay away from the what the hell is kick because you know what kick is. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, how long have you been on kick? >> I had an account years ago, so I'm assuming it's the same one we're talking about now. >> At first, Trevor claimed he had no idea what kick even was. But the moment the officer made clear that they already knew about his account, the act was dropped. What Trevor didn't realize was that playing dumb wasn't going to get him very far. What? >> Trevor, again, let's stay away from the plane down here. >> No, I didn't hear what you said. >> Oh, yeah. No. Yeah, I do have that one. >> Okay, >> that one's old. >> That one's old. >> Yeah. And then what about >> Oh, so there's two. >> Is that an old two? >> I don't know. I mean, to be quite straight with you, >> I would love that. >> I don't remember which one I used. >> You used both on two different kick accounts. >> Okay. So, let's stay away from the playing dumb, >> okay? >> Because it's not going to help. Like I said, everything's explainable. >> Mhm. >> And I don't want to just see this one side of it. I want to talk to you. I want to get a better understanding. And I want to see if you can help me find some other aspects of this investigation. So, you have two You've had two different kick accounts. >> Mhm. >> Within the last two months. >> Okay. >> What's Okay. I'm I'm following you. >> Okay. Tell me about your first kick account. >> So, which one? >> What do you want me to tell you about? >> What were you doing on there? >> It's a chat app. >> Mhm. So, what are you chatting about? >> I don't know. I mean, probably kinky. >> What's kinky? >> Like, >> okay. What kind of are you into? like sometimes transgender stuff, sometimes straight stuff. It just depends. >> Okay. What do you search for? >> Usually transgender or straight. >> So, those are the search terms that you're using. >> Well, I mean, whatever term works. >> So, when was the last time that you were on Kick? >> I don't know. >> Few weeks ago. >> Few weeks >> at the most. >> Okay. Um, so when you log log log into kick, what's the first thing that you do when you log on? Like do you go out and search for a specific chat thread? >> I mean, you can or people can send them to you. Depends on what groups you're in. >> Okay. So, tell us about the groups you were in the last time you were on kick. >> Okay. So, I think I was in like an anything goes group and like just random different kinds of >> And then how did the conversation go in that one? Like there's a lot of different kinds of Right. I think we kind of established that already. >> What what do you want to know? >> As the officer pressed Trevor for answers, his responses grew increasingly evasive, showing that a careful choice about what to reveal. But the deeper the detective dug, the harder it was going to be for Trevor to keep his story together. >> I would like to know um about many of the links that you were sending. >> I've been told to to share different things, but >> Okay. So, like what kind of things would you share? >> You know, you just send them from different chat groups. >> So, you would like forward things from different chat groups. Okay. How long have you had Dropbox? >> Uh I haven't had it for long. I downloaded it because someone told me to look at something and it turned out to be um not into that. >> Okay, tell us about that. Well, tell us about you receiving it. >> The they sent it to me. >> You know, you're on a kinky conversation. Somebody's like, "Hey, check this out." >> Okay, so they had told you to download Dropbox. >> Yes. >> Okay. Um what did they send you? >> It was just that I was a link to Dropbox. >> Okay. But then like what was in there? >> What was in the Dropbox? >> Yeah, >> I told you. >> No, but like what did what does that mean? >> Um, individuals perform. >> How many files were there? >> I mean a lot. >> When you say a lot, what's that mean? >> Hundreds. >> Hundreds. So from that one Dropbox link, there were hundreds, >> I guess. I don't know. >> Okay. So Trevor um as part of this investigation we had obtained and executed search warrants for your kick accounts. >> Okay. >> Okay. So with that we do get [snorts] your messages. >> Okay. >> So keeping in mind that we have all of your messages and we can see what it is that you are chatting to people about and what it is that you [snorts] are discussing. You want to reframe the responses that you've just given. >> What What are you looking for here? What can I do to help you out? >> To help me out first would be honest answers. I can understand self-preservation and I can understand trying to minimize and throwing things away and hiding things under the rug. However, what I need from you is to put that aside. And to be honest with me because like I said a lot of the information a lot of answers we have it but we this is what we have right and we have the files. What I don't have is the how did we get here Trevor? [snorts] How did you get to this place in your life to be participating in here? When officers brought up the materials Trevor had been exchanging on kick, he admitted to sharing and receiving some type of adult content. But detectives knew it was more than that. So when Trevor sensed the officers weren't convinced, he decided to change the angle of the story. Be honest with you straight up. This pisses me off and I don't know how the >> You're seeking it. >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm trying to figure out how to figure this out. I I I don't understand it. >> Trying to figure it out. Trevor, >> why why these people are doing this? I don't understand it. >> You're in here and you're talking about going to Thailand. And Trevor, here's the thing. You're in here sending it to people. You're transmitting it. You're not just receiving it. You're receiving it and you're transmitting it. You're sending it out. You're doing this at work. You're doing this at home. You're doing this on your phone. [snorts] You've got Dropbox. You've got Vega. So, where else do you get these files from? >> This is it. Like, this is this is this is I'm trying to understand because I don't [snorts] What do you want me to say? >> I want you to be honest. I know it's not easy to talk about. >> I'm being honest with you at this point and you're not wanting to believe it. >> Trevor, you're not being honest. >> You're not. >> Well, what do you want me >> sending it out and stuff is not making it better. >> No, it's not. which is why I stopped because I I I sit there and I'm like, what what can I do? Because like my brain, what I was thinking was is how do I compile this? How do how do I how do I figure out a way of of doing something about this and and there's nothing there's nothing I can do. >> But your solution was sending it instead. No, my solution was is when you when you how you collect it, how you get these people into the into the the the area, how you collect them is you have send a receipt. So, you send it you you you to find out who has it. So, in my brain, I'm collecting these people. I'm trying to figure this out. >> Realizing the officers weren't buying his account, Trevor claimed that everything he had done on kick was part of a personal effort to catch the real bad guys. But when detectives looked at the chat record, what they found told a very different story. >> So the people that you're talking to in kick, who are they? >> I don't know. And I don't know how to figure that out. That's that's literally who stops. I don't know how to work out who they are. I don't know how to do any of that. So >> ask for their names. >> Like somebody's going to tell you their name. >> Have you asked? >> No. >> Have you met up with any of these people, cupcake? >> No. And I obviously I wouldn't unless I was doing this, but I can't because I'm not on the law enforcement side. I'm trying to collect these people. Like in my mind, I'm trying to get them together so that I can I can figure out who they are. Like you you have to build a trust, you know, >> but Trevor, in all of the chats, there's nothing of you trying to figure out. >> Nothing in the chat. Because if you tell somebody in the chat, "Oh, hey, I want to report you because I think you're disgusting." Well, yeah, that's not going to get you very far. >> Exactly. So, you have to play their game. >> What I'm saying, though, is that you you have these multiple chat threads, whatever, whether it's a group chat or whether they're individual chats, and the conversation is only about trading. >> There's no conversation to figure out who they are. There's no conversation to figure out what's going on here. >> Of course, you don't have >> But you're sitting here But you're sitting here telling us that that was your goal. Their goal was to figure out what are they doing? Who are these people? And mentally, I'm having a really hard time understanding that and having that make sense because it's a load of bull. >> That's fine. >> I know it's fine, but I'm not the one sitting on that side of the table dealing with all of this cuz like I said in the start of this when you first started feeding us lies. that we're giving you an opportunity here to step forward to be a man to honor that badge that you wear every damn day and have some integrity and own up to what you've been doing. >> The chat history told a story that had nothing to do with catching criminals with no attempts to gather evidence or to report anyone. Cornered and running out of options, Trevor changed his approach once again. >> In all of the people that you've chatted with, have you ever gotten any names or information on them? No, because they disappear. >> Okay. >> Because K deactivates their accounts, [snorts] which is good. Thank God. But every time I try to rework it out, like try to to to to last long enough, so to speak, to try to work out who these people are, it all disappears. So like literally a couple weeks ago, I gave up. I I don't I don't there's nothing I can do. And you can tell me it's [ __ ] and that's fine. But what you want is the truth and that's what I'm telling you. I know how it looks and that's fine. >> I would think though that like seeing something that like oh my god like this this rocked my world and like something that you're not supposed to see something that's not supposed to happen that that would you would have a recollection of what was going on in that file. >> Yeah. It was it was someone like that was what was going on in that file. >> I mean I know what is Trevor. >> Well what what do you want? You only remember the exact picture of who the child was? >> I don't I don't remember the exact picture. >> Could that be because you've seen so many files? >> No, probably not. Probably because it's not something that I care to. >> Have you made files yourself? >> No. Like literally, you're not going to find anything on my phone. Go through it. Please do. >> I don't make files. I don't like it. I I I'm literally telling you the honest answer and nobody wants to believe it, which you know, I get it. It's unbelievable. >> Trevor, you were reported because you're sending it. >> I get it. >> That's how this all started. >> But no, >> so we don't get tips and work people who received the files. If you receive it, >> that's not the problem, right? It's you sending it out and promoting it more and getting more people involved. That's the problem. If you received that file, you could have reported the account that it came from. You could have reported it to Nickmick. You could have reported it here to your job. You know that there's different ways to report it and you didn't. >> I guess let me put it this way. I I have no faith in the system. So I I I didn't know what would come from it. Like if I were sit down or it what am I going to be able to do? >> You didn't even try. >> Because I was scared. I was scared this would happen. In the end, Trevor Willis resigned and was later released under strict conditions, including electronic monitoring and restrictions on internet access and contact with. After initially pleading not guilty to multiple charges across two separate cases, Trevor later pleaded guilty in December 2025. Trevor was ultimately sentenced to 4 years in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised probation and is expected to remain incarcerated until around 2030. In the next case, a group of officers thought no one was watching their misconduct. But what started as a disturbing cell phone video would expose a pattern of transgression most people wouldn't believe was happening inside a sheriff's department. >> Back up. >> Give it to me right now. You better not kill it. He's going to launch it. >> Don't give me so tough without your vest on or without your teaser. Huh. And he pulled out his gun. He's with this though. He pointed out his duty issued handgun pointing it directly at my chest. On August 16th, 2025, a group of New Mexico deputies recorded themselves doing something they never thought the public would see. The footage stayed hidden for a while until it finally surfaced, exposing a disturbing act of cruelty. >> Bunny, dude, >> but it's a cute bunny. >> Look at him. >> Let me hold it. >> Let him hold it, bro. >> Let me hold it. Let him hold it. Don't throw it. >> Let him hold it. Let him hold it. >> Hold it, baby. Rabbit. Let me hold it. >> Let him hold it. >> Dude, no. >> No, dude. Let me cut it. No. >> Let him hold it. >> You're going to do it. I won't throw it. [laughter] Swear to God. >> I swear. >> Put it on your kids. >> I can't do that. [laughter] >> Let me see. >> What color is it? Brown. See, I said that >> give it to me right now. >> Let him hold it. >> Let me hold it. >> All right. You're going to >> Don't kill it. >> Just let it go. Marcus, >> you better not kill it. >> He's going to launch it. >> Don't be a >> In the footage, the deputy, later identified as Alejandro Gomez, is seen pointing his taser at a fellow officer identified as Marcus Salace before throwing a rabbit against another deputy's truck. 5 months later, Marcus came forward to his superiors with the video and with some information about Alejandro's weird behavior. >> Um, so the first incident happened on August 5th, 2024. So I went to the office to go work on I grabbed something to eat real quick, went to the office, and then we're working on benium training. Um, it was me, Corporal Dores, and um, another deputy, Alejandro Gomez, that were in the office. Um during that time in the office, you know, I kind of had my phone out and I was working on my bienium training. Um at that time, I believe I was texting my wife and um my phone was unlocked. Um during that time, Alejandra Gomez walked up behind me. I didn't think anything of it cuz I have a bunch of like cubbies and stuff behind my desk, so it's pretty frequent. You know, people are always behind me. Um, at that point in time, he reached over, grabbed my phone out of my hand, and then he proceeded to run down a hallway that's in like located near the office. >> Um, I got up and I gave chase to him and I closed the distance. I was like, "Hey, you give him my phone. Stop messing around." Um, I knew that it was unlocked and, you know, just given that there's personal information within my phone, I'd rather not have him have him have access to it while it's open. Um, so as I gained distance on him, um, he turned around, pulled out his taser on me, and he pointed it directly at me. And then at that point, I just kind of I was like, "Dude, stop messing around." And I kind of slapped his arm away. >> Okay. >> Like his taser pointing out at me. He kind of just slapped his arm away. And I was like, "Give me my phone." And I grabbed it from him. Um, so I grabbed my phone, proceeded to turn around and walk back towards the office area. And I was like, "Dude, you play too much." and you know just horse play whatever. And um we walked back into the office area. My corporal was sitting there and I just went to talk to him. I was like, "Hey dude," I think I just got a call for service at that time too and it was like a dog barking or something. So I was like, "Hey, I'm going to go take care of that call." And during my time talking to my corporal, um Honda was taking off his vest and where he has his taser located is on his vest. He has like a vest mounted uh holster. So that's where he puts his uh taser. Um at that point in time, messing around with him. I uh picked up his vest and I was like, "You ain't so tough without your vest on or without your taser." Not. And he pulled out his gun. He's with this though. He pointed out his duty issued handgun pointing it directly at my chest. >> According to Marcus, Alejandro had a troubling way of being playful, painting a picture of a deputy whose idea of fun crossed dangerous lines. Plus, there was more that happened offcreen on the bunny's video. And Marcus was about to tell the officers all about it. >> It was literally like a baby rabbit the size of my hand, right? Like super innocent thing. It was scary to move. So I I picked it up and uh the guys behind me, they stopped too like, "Oh, what are you stopping for?" And I was like, "Dude, check it out, baby rabbit." You know, I was like, "Pretty cool." Um given that I love like outdoor life and you know, hunting and all that stuff. Um I I was like, "Oh, this is cool. and take a picture of it, whatever. >> And uh during that time, Sergeant Ree, um Caesar Corporal Torres, and Hondo were all like hovered around me at the time. Um Hondo, Deputy Hondo Gomez, he kept requesting, you know, let me hold it, let me hold it, let me hold it. And I was like, no, dude. I was like, you're going to you're going to hurt it. He was like, no, I'm not. and everybody. It was kind of like a horse play situation, I would say, but it was more so just like they're just being loud about it because it it was kind of cool to see a baby rabbit, right? I went to go like take a few steps back and I was going to go set the bunny down, but I knew that the state that the bunny was in, it was probably just going to stay there and then he was either going to >> step on it or grab it or whatever. Mhm. >> So, I was kind of already expecting the worst, but then when I went to reach down to put it down, uh, Deputy Alejandro Gomez pulled out his taser at me and the the light I saw that the light to the taser turned on and the laser and it was directly on my body. Um, at that point when I saw the laser on my body, I was kind of like, "Okay, dude. Like, here you can see it. Like, put the taser away. Stop around." >> Yeah. and uh in hopes that it would really like deescalate the situation. I was hoping maybe he would just like see it and then maybe like I don't know put it down to not mess with it anymore. As soon as I handed it to him, um he just threw the rabbit into the side of my unit pretty much instantly. And um during that time, I did noticed that my sergeant Brandon Reese was taking a video of pretty much the entire incident. And um [clears throat] whenever the video concluded, you could hear me in the video saying like, "Damn." Like I was like, "Damn, dude." And then at the end I was like, "Dude, you're a piece of I was like, why'd you do that?" And I got I like saw the rabbit on the ground and it was still twitching. So I ended up grabbing the rabbit and I didn't want to discharge my firearm or anything to put it off out of its misery. So I ended up picking up the rabbit, placing it in front of my tire, and just proceeded to move on. And I was I was pissed off at the whole the whole incident that happened. >> Left in shock, Marcus admitted that he couldn't just brush off what happened with the innocent bunny. After that, Marcus decided to talk with the supervisors, but nothing came of it. However, while Marcus Salace was trying to cooperate to sort the situation out, other deputies who were involved didn't act in the same way. >> So, I'm willing to cooperate with you guys, but unfortunately, I have the Gary Act and the company is okay. So which by any mean not to talk to you guys yet because you guys can either get a waiver from HR and all that stuff and also if also have legal representation as well just to be able to be here with me and to kind of help me out. Okay. >> Okay. Who's your legal representation? >> One second one and I'll go from that point on. But for now it's just the [snorts] this part is kind of not allowing me to talk. >> I'm telling you I spoke with someone on the phone about that. I know what Gity is. We've dealt with Gity before. I've interviewed many, many police officers in the course of investigations report. >> I'm not going to let you hide behind that. >> Okay? >> If you're not speaking, that's fine. But be a man about it and honest about it. You're not cooperating and that's okay. >> No, I'm 100% cooperating with you. >> The biggest thing, Caesar, is this right here. This is for internal stuff, right? [laughter] It's for that that's that's for between you and the sheriff's department. But we're here to talk to you about it's involving obviously the allegations of some stuff that he wants to talk to you about and it's going criminally. >> Okay. So, so it's a different round. So, we're not looking at you as a suspect or anything right now. It's just to get the information going, but again, this has nothing to do with your agency, bro. >> I got you guys 100% what you have to tell me. But the fact is right here, it still goes into my job. They find out there's a possibility I can get terminated. You guys ain't going to be paying my bills and I know you guys ain't. So, let go through the process of HR, all that stuff and go from there. I'm a man 100%. Don't call me out. >> Okay. >> Unlike Salace, Corporal Caesar Torres took a very different stance and stayed firm on the decision of not talking. With other suspects also refusing to budge, investigators decided to bring their considerations to the Grant County Sheriff's Department in person. >> So, I uh tried to interview uh Sergeant Reese and Corporal Porters yesterday. >> Mhm. >> Um and they decided not to interview. >> You know, whether they got hurt or upset or not or I mean, they just wanted their right to counsel. that's that's fine. You know, obviously they're allowed to do that and they're afforded that, but they're they didn't they didn't say they needed counsel. They were worried about the agency. Does that make sense? So, instead of saying, "Hey, you know what, man? I'll just get a lawyer and then we'll talk after." Yeah, we'll set up an interview. Like, so, but they were just saying, "We can't talk because there's a clause in the paperwork that they showed us saying that they wouldn't be able to talk because of confidentiality." And the biggest thing is they were just trying to cite you guys. So, like I think if they would have just came out and explained to us like, "Hey, listen man, I feel a little uncomfortable talking. we're just going to get a lawyer. Cool, man. We get it. Uh but again, both of them were just citing the sheriff's department. This one and I think it's probably because they've already been address, you know, an aud and and it was uh there was uh action was uh done by the sheriff and everything. So, it was already addressed on this situation. >> Okay. >> On that. So, um [clears throat] that's probably what they're they're probably freaking out. That's probably what they're what's going on. When investigators sat down with the higher-ups at Grant County Sheriff's Department, it became clear that Sergeant Ree and Corporal Torres were worried about where this investigation could lead. But the suspect's efforts wouldn't stop what came next. >> Okay. >> Is that your wife? >> Yeah. Can you let her know what I'm being charged with? >> Yeah, let her know. >> Thank you, guys. >> All right, ma'am. Um, so sorry that this had to happen, but I just want to come give you information on what's going on. All right. Um, so right now, Mr. Gomez is going to be placed under arrest. Okay. And read you his warrant. His warrant's going to be four counts of aggravated assault upon a peace officer with a deadly weapon and then one extreme cruelty to animals. So, I'm not too sure if you know about the investigation that's going on. That's the reason why we're here. Okay. Just want to also let you know that he's going to be treated with nothing but respect um from here on out. Okay. And uh we want to just come give you at least an update on what's going on. Um he'll be going with the state police officers. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> Uh turn. No, I try to talk from the board. He knows to reach out to me. >> Mr. Gomez, if you want to talk, reach out. Okay. >> In the end, Alejandro Gomez faced multiple criminal charges related to the incident involving law enforcement personnel and animal mistreatment. Nearly a year later, the sheriff's department confirmed that he was no longer employed there. Corporal Caesar Torres, Sergeant Reese, and Deputy Marcus Salace were also dismissed. [music] Court records indicate that the case was later reviewed by a judge who determined there was insufficient basis for it to proceed. Next case. A decorated officer made a terrible decision that changed her whole career. All because of a single night of rage. >> You need to come here right now because I'm just snapped. Hold on. I'm first of all, >> stop. Please stop. You're making this lot harder than it's got to be. >> Okay. Give me a second. >> We're not going to give you >> YES, YOU ARE. I DON'T KNOW WHO you're doing. What are you doing? >> On April 25th, 2025, officers in Tom's River, New Jersey, responded to a call from a man reporting that his ex-girlfriend had shown up at his home and was threatening to hurt him. What officers arrived to find made it clear this was no ordinary domestic dispute. >> Dude, >> where is she? >> Turn that needs to be on. >> She's upstairs throwing a tantrum. Okay, >> she broke my gun this way. >> Walked in. >> She doesn't live here. She hasn't lived here for two and a half years. She's breaking stuff. I get it. I know the sensitivity of this, but she's got to come out of my house. I I just >> What'd she break? >> Front door. The front. She broke She took a baton. Oh, >> right there with Kyle. >> According to the man, his ex-girlfriend, identified as Rebecca Siag, a decorated patrol officer from Tom's River, had forced her way into his house. When officers located Rebecca, she looked visibly distressed. >> I'm not doing this right now. >> You are. Rebecca, stop. Stop. >> I'm getting all my you. >> But stop for a second. >> No, I'm getting all my stuff. I can stop for a second. >> This is ridiculous, Kyle. Like, I have a closet full of clothes here. I have all my here and he wants to sit here and have a thinking that she's going to be the new to my dog. >> All right, we're going to stop screaming though. Look, all my stuff. Look. You want to see all my stuff? All my stuff. >> My stuff. >> My stuff. >> My stuff. >> Rebecca, >> I don't care. I I need my phone. I'm calling my PBA rep. >> All right. Well, this is the problem here. You're not going. Stay up here. Rebecca. >> Rebecca. No, you're not. Rebecca. Rebecca, stop. >> Going to my car. >> Stop. She's walking up front. >> We don't We don't need a horse here. >> She's not leaving. >> Watch out. Watch out. >> She's not leaving. She's grabbing the phone. Rebecca, come on. Stay out here for a minute. I need you to do me do me a solid here and just stop making this call. All right. Stop making this harder than it's going to be. >> You need to come here right now >> because I'll just snap. Well, I just smashed his front door in. >> Even with officers attempting to calm down the situation, Rebecca didn't back off. In Sai's words, she was only there for her belongings and a dog. But her composure told a different story. >> I'm right here. I I'm not a problem. If he wasn't a liar and didn't have all my belongings in here and my dog, we wouldn't have a problem. I'm calling my mother right now. >> I don't care. You're under arrest. >> For what? Criminal mischief. >> Yeah. And breaking in. >> So criminal mischief isn't an Interestable effect. Rebecca, >> hold on. I'm First of all, >> Rebecca, stop. Please stop. >> You're making this a lot harder than it's got to be. >> Rebecca, >> no. We're going to go when I get all my >> No, this is the way I handle this. You know this. >> You know better than this. >> Okay. Well, I'm calling my PBR. >> You know, there's not here. I'm getting my >> What? What? >> Okay, give me a second. >> We're not going to give you a second. >> YES, YOU ARE. I'M CALLING MY PBA. I don't GIVE A >> I DON'T KNOW WHO you're doing. What are you doing? >> Are you Stop resisting. >> Are you kidding me? >> Stop resisting. Stop. >> I am not resisting. You just put your hand and GRAB MY NECK. GET OFF OF ME. >> He didn't grab your neck. >> Yes, he did. >> Grabbed your arm. Just >> take it easy, >> Kyle. Becca, just take a deep breath. Stop. >> I'm fine. I was just calling my rep. >> Give me my so I can call my mother >> call her at the station. >> No, you can give me my phone now. >> Grab DVD paper. >> Yeah. >> I want my dog. I want my dog, Kyle. I want my dog. >> Your house down. >> All right. So, I'm patrolling this office. I don't think we ever met, but I got your phone. Is there anything else you need? >> Um, I need someone to remove my car from this place. And with my car, I need my dog. And um, probably the best person to call is my brother or my sister. >> Okay. >> Um, >> I'm just going to transport you. >> My mom might be able to take my dog, but um, I tried calling her, but that's when Ryan decided to manhandle me. >> When I decided to try to call my mom when >> we get down to the police station, but make call, right? >> Yep. That's fine. Rebecca's behavior left officers with no choice. But the moment Rebecca arrived at the station, the rage that had consumed her all night gradually gave way to something else. >> Just just come here. I'll explain. Just you're on my watch right now, so I'm just bring being brought in right now. What? >> No, I've never met him before. But I need you to come here because the metal officer >> that was like at my old house like manhandled the out of me like me out basically. Well, I'm totally getting fired. >> Any more pronouncements? >> Huh? Anything with that? >> No, I should be good. Does my hair look good at least? What's going on? Is [snorts] he Is he Come here. So, I'm going go to the county. No, Mom. I cannot go in there. Regardless, I have to go in there and get both. But am I going there tonight? I'm in Berkeley still. No, no, Mom. I can't do this. I can't do this. >> I can't, Mom. They're going to post me all online. So, I guess I'm not I'm not going there tonight. So, there's a chance that I could still leave tonight. There's no judges in right now anywhere. Hopefully tonight. Hopefully tonight. Okay. Well, let me go. They're waiting for me. [snorts] Byebye. You I love you. >> Going to cut the phone, right? >> Please. We already have enough like [snorts] [sighs] >> this is scary. [snorts] >> It's a little tight. >> It's Are you sure? >> You got you got point. >> Okay. Yeah, I can deal. >> Okay. We just double lock that. Okay. >> Yeah. I just have small wrists. >> We'll tell off that one. Ah, all right, Rebecca, just step back here, please. Sitting there. I'm going to go around the other side. Buckle you up. >> Later, Rebecca Sagg was booked on charges of burglary, criminal mischief, and simple assault. But months later, the ex-boyfriend and his actual girlfriend filed a civil lawsuit saying that Rebecca hadn't acted alone. A Berkeley police officer named Kyle Hunt was accused of being involved and a Tom's River police dispatcher was alleged to have run a plate number on Rebecca's behalf, helping her identify the car parked outside her ex's house. The couple argued that both had effectively enabled the break-in and the assault that followed. After that, the suspect's attorneys stood before the court to handle these accusations. And unfortunately in 2025, due to some trauma that she experienced personally, due to the stress of that job on her, and due to some difficulties with the relationship that she'd had, it all came together. And unfortunately on April 25th of last year, she did something that was out of character, something that was wrong and something that even hurt someone. But that doesn't change the type of person that she is. And that's further evidenced by what she's done since then. She completed inpatient treatment. She went on to complete outpatient treatment. She's seeing a therapy. She's working through these issues that she has that will help her to never be before this court or any other court again. Your honor, she's also complied with anger management and pre-trial services. So, your honor, at this point, she spent 5 days in the jail, and you're asking, your honor, to find that that's a sufficient punishment for her. She's lost her law enforcement career that she's had ever since she got out of college [snorts] that she's worked for as an adult. She's lost the ability to even use her skills and like your honor referenced even at the time of her plea that she can't even be a volunteer lifeguard even though she's saved lives repeatedly with CPR and with even tourniquets and things like that. >> As a law enforcement officer, as someone who um is charged with the responsibilities of taking people's freedoms away under lawful circumstances. um who needs to be there in times of need. This defendant's actions on that night are the complete antithesis of what a law enforcement officer should do. This wasn't a split-second decision. This defendant not only involved herself, not only inserted herself, but did so over a course and a [snorts] period of time that night. Showed that she intentionally did what she did and meant to do what she did by breaking into this victim's home. They were trying to watch a movie. That's all they were doing, not a care in the world. and then to have their night interrupted by someone using their police issued baton to bust in and open the front door because she wasn't gained admittance. And she not only involved herself and not only brought two people who were not asking for any of this, who don't want to have the media attention, who don't want to have their home violated, which is, I would argue, to this court one of the worst violations any person in the United States of America could have because if we're not secure in our own homes, where are we secure, judge? So, not only do they have to have those uh should the court consider those, but this defendant left a swath of destruction with other members of law enforcement? Um, another officer has lost his job, and I'm not making excuses. He should have. Um, a dispatcher has lost his job. Not making excuses. He should have. This defendant involved them, too. and and she did it knowingly and she did it because she was a police officer and she used that as part of why she was able to get additional persons involved. [music] I'll leave it at that. Just you're using your police issued baton to cause damage to a a vehicle and then to a front door and then to enter into a building uh where where two people were just simply watching a movie. In the end, Rebecca Sai was sentenced to 3 years probation and ordered to pay restitution to her victims for the damage caused. She must also take part in continuing mental health treatment. In this next case, what an officer was hiding behind the badge was something no one around ever saw [music] coming. When the truth finally came to light, there was no return for the suspect, but to face serious consequences. >> How am I in trouble? I wonder what the heck they got a search warrant for. No one does anything. I come home, play my game. Does everyone go into the PD? Just me? >> Yeah, just you. >> What? On November 27th, 2024, officers in Ohio received a report that a man was engaging in inappropriate online communications with a minor. When investigators located the suspect, he appeared completely caught off guard. >> Sheriff, >> how am I in trouble? >> Uh, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can will be used against you. In a court of law, you have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford to hire an attorney, one will be provided for you. If you decide to answer any questions now without an attorney present, you will have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to an attorney. Do you understand all that, Austin? Okay, let me see what's going on. Let them get squared away and then they're going to talk to you. Okay. >> Is my mom and my and her boyfriend also in trouble? Like what's happening? >> I I again I just I just got some information here. Hold on. >> All right. >> Okay. >> What? >> I'm just leaving this back here. Okay. >> Can I not You don't know what's going on at all. >> I have some idea, but it's not my case. So, I don't I don't like talking about stuff that's not my case. Let me see what they want to do. Okay. >> What? >> What? >> The man taken into custody was 23-year-old Austin Sabbo, an active officer at the Wallbridge Police Department in Ohio. As Austin was placed under arrest, he started to carry himself as though the whole thing was a misunderstanding. >> So, are they taking everyone? >> No, man. I don't think they're taking everyone. I don't know. I don't know what's going on. They're not going to take everyone. >> But what's happening, though? Who's the main person? >> Well, it's for the residents. I can tell you that. >> What's that mean? >> It's for the residents. >> What does that mean? >> It's the search warrants for the residents, not for the people. It's for the residents. You're being detained so they can do that search. >> So, they wanted the house. >> Say that again. >> No one's actually in trouble. Well, yeah. I mean, there's obviously something they got a search warrant for. >> Will you send that over to me? >> Um, they're going to do their thing and then they're going to figure it out. And >> Dude, I have work at 2:00. I was literally asleep. I I set my alarm for this time. I usually get up and shower and get dressed. >> Where are you working at? >> Wallbridge. >> Oh, >> I got hired. >> Yeah, I did know that. >> I like it out there. I actually have an app in cuz uh Genanoa's down people too. I like I wonder what the heck they got a search warrant for. No one does anything. I come home, play my game. My mom's boyfriend, he just goes fishing 24/7 and she's a nurse. Does everyone go into the PD? No, >> just me. >> Yeah, just you. >> What? What? What are they going in there and doing all that for? >> They got a search warrant for the property. >> Again, I I don't want to say anything that it's not our investigation. >> What does it have any like the SWAT team was just utilized? So, as part of the SWAT team, obviously, we come out with them and then with as many people that were in the house, we uh they asked for us to put you in the car so you can be warm. So, I'm going to where to talk to him? >> Back to the police department. >> Keeping up his act, Austin started to share details about his personal life, articulating that the search warrant was nonsense. But then the conversation shifted and Austin brought up an important detail that made that situation even more problematic. >> It's just wild. You know, I don't have no care for any other person in this world as far as girls go. And it's just like I just I want that one. I want my family back, you know. And it sucks living an hour and a half away. I feel like I'm missing so much of short life already. It's been four months and I feel like never see her. You know, when if we were just together like we were, I'd see her every day. Even if it was for a little bit, I come home from work, see her, go, you know, before work's here. >> Oh yeah. >> Like I get home and I stay here and play the game, dude. I don't do nothing else. I got a kid now. So I just >> Yeah. What's going on with that? You married You weren't married to her, right? >> No. >> She was down in what? New London. >> New London. Yeah. >> Is she up here now? >> No, she's still We're not together. >> You're not together? >> Mhm. It's kind of last. >> How long's that been going on? >> Few months. It's been pretty just turned four. Four months old. Yeah. >> Clarify. >> Yeah. >> Uh and it's just been real rough on me lately mentally. that dude like not being able to be with her and she lives like an hour and a half from here roughly. So it's like I can >> what? And just disagreeing. >> Yeah. Really? And my truck's I can't just drive in London. >> What are you making an hour at Wallbridge? >> Like 20 bucks. But I just started so >> And are you full-time or part-time? >> Part-time currently, but my FTO ends December 20th. Uh, and they're obviously kind of fast-tracking me a little bit more. >> After the search warrant and further investigation, it was proven that the girl's report was real. But when Austin's case became public, more people came forward with accusations against the former deputy. In the end, Austin Saba was sentenced to 34 years in prison for a series of offenses involving minors. After pleading guilty to multiple charges across four separate cases, Austin will be eligible for parole after serving approximately 28 and 1/2 years of his sentence. Next, an officer who thought his private messages would never see the light of day didn't have any idea how wrong he was. When investigators arrived at the suspect's department to look into the material found on his phone, what they uncovered would set off an unexpected chain of events. >> This is the subject of criminal investigation. >> He then asked me if I could take off my leggings for him and show him. A couple days later, he snapped me when he was in his uniform. I asked him if he was a cop and he said yes. >> You are soliciting images from a life. On March 4th, 2024, an investigation was launched following anonymous reports of suspicious behavior involving an intern at the River County Sheriff's Office in Florida. He was allegedly posing under a false identity to approach underage girls on social media, asking them for intimate photos. But his actions were about to come to an end just hours before he was set to officially become a police officer. >> So, I'm going to explain why I'm here. [snorts] Okay, before I do that, this is the subject of criminal investigation. Okay? So, I'm going to advise you your Miranda rights. You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand these rights? >> Okay. So, [snorts] the reason I'm here is the sheriff's office received a complaint and as a result of that complaint, investigation was launched. The point was that we were trying to solicit photos from under 18. Okay. So, in response to that, a search warrant was issued. So, what I'll do is we'll read you that search warrant. Now, >> any search warrant we do for anything, you have to read the search warrant to the person we're referring to or the house or whatever the case may be. So, this is this is going to be for you. >> We have to do this. So the name of the state of Florida to all in the sheriff in county lawful deputies and commissioner of Florida department law enforce constitute agents in any public I'm going to ask you how are you willing to speak to me >> right now we only have one side so >> I mean what is what is the outcome of this investigation? What are the avenues that you can take here? Am I leaving here in handcuffs? >> No, we're talking to you. >> We have piece we have probable cause for >> So your warrants don't your phone's >> that's just for the phone. This is this is crazy to me. >> I mean, >> yeah, we were not happy when we heard about that. This morning, >> we were pulled in this morning said, "Hey, something popped up. Somebody's alleging certain certain situation. You guys need to look into it." So, that's what we did. Right now, we only have one person that we spoke to and [snorts] we never, as you know, you never arrest somebody on one person's story. So, that's why >> arrested. I mean, >> if what? And you said you never arrest somebody with one time, >> right? We've only talked to one person. We didn't talk to you, so that's why we're here. We got the search warrant for the collective evidence. >> The suspect was later identified as Key Chromemer after one of the victims recognized him during a routine orientation at a county school. She reported that he had made multiple attempts to contact her through social media in the past. >> Your messages are implicated in a in somebody talking to a 16-year-old. Okay. So, we obviously we have to look into that. We can't just ignore that, right? So, we'd like to hear your side of the story if you're willing to speak to us, but that's your decision. If you want to talk to us and tell us what's going on, then great. You want to tell us, hey, I'm saying, I don't want to speak to you. That's your right citizen as well. I can't direct you what you need to do now. I can only ask you if with your rights in mind if you're willing to speak to me. >> And if I'm not willing to speak to you, I mean, what happen? >> We take your phone. >> We're going to take your phone. That's it. >> I know this and I don't mean to be disrespectful to you guys. It's just I mean the way I was raised have a lawyer. Have a lawyer. >> Okay. >> It's man it's it's totally your fault. I get it. >> Want to be disrespectful to you guys. >> It's not being disrespectful. That's why the first thing we do is these are your rights. >> We have an investigation like you said. >> So somebody's alleging that you are soliciting nude images from a minor. That's what that's what the allegations are. That's what that's why we're here. We never honest to God, we never want to talk to them. It sucks, but it is what it is. Just like you go on the road, you got to take every call as it comes. So, we had a call that we had to we had to investigate. >> Mhm. >> What we have gathered so far gave us enough probable cause to get a search warrant for your phone. It in no way at this point gave [snorts] us probable cause to arrest you right now because like I said, we have one person's side of the story. >> Now we have your phone. If in your phone you have a bunch of kitty people, then we got problems. >> Mhm. >> So, but like Detective Scrimer said, we wrote you read your rights. It is completely up to you. It's not disrespectful in any way, but it's completely up to you. If you want to tell us anything, you have the right to stop at any point. If you don't want to talk to us and say, "No, you know what? I want a lawyer." absolutely understand. >> At this point, when investigators requested permission to further examine the contents of his phone, Key showed clear signs of nervousness, but it wouldn't save him from what his actions had already set in motion. >> I don't want to say that I want a lawyer and then go to jail while you have my phone. >> Listen, I'm going to tell you right now, you're not here. You're not going to jail right now. >> Okay? You are not going to jail right now. If you want to talk to a lawyer, 100% we understand. We're not here to make up your mind and do that. We're not here to suate you. I'm telling you right now, if you say lawyer, I'm out the door. >> Okay? There's going to be some administrative stuff on the side >> just because it's investigation. >> Just because it's investigation, but right now the only thing I'm here to do is select your phone. And if you would like to speak to me, great. If you don't, great. >> Understood. >> So that's it. >> Yeah. >> I'm not giving you direction one way or the other. I've read your rights. If you want a lawyer, 100% understand >> with your phone. I will say I'm sure you've heard the part it's it's court ordered that you're compelled to allow access to the phone by biometrics meaning if it's face recognition. >> I have no problem with that. >> Yeah. It's just the >> All right. >> The interview password for your phone. >> Yes. Would you like to say it now? >> Yes. Holy crap. >> It's an iPhone. >> Yes. M. It's a long password. >> Um, like I said with the counts, I don't have my phone, so I can't do anything about that, but I'll be home soon and whatnot. So, >> all right. Bye. >> Thank you. I would have stepped out, but my work phone has case information on it. Not necessarily yours, but a lot. >> Um, all right. A good way to do business. All right. Thanks, sir. You have any questions for us? >> What investigators found on his phone confirmed the worst. Key had been messaging underage girls using a fake age, building trust before making his requests. The first victim was a 16-year-old girl. When she saw Key at her school, the fear was immediate. guy that was sending me was asking me to send him. >> Do you have water in there now? You look nervous. >> Yeah, >> you do. You're not in trouble. >> You know that, right? Okay. >> What's your date of birth? >> You're not in trouble. Okay. So, I get this is hard to talk about in front of two complete strangers. So, we're going to take this nice and slow here real fast. Um, now you said a guy was as sending you messages asking you for news. >> Yes. So, what platform was he messaging? >> Snapchat. >> Okay. And what is your name on Snapchat? >> And what was the name of the person sending you messages? >> Kai Kmer. >> So, when did he start contacting you? >> Um, so I knew him from I think it was 2 years ago probably now. Um, I worked, um, I was a, um, we didn't really speak, but that's how we met. Um, but he added me through quick ad on Snapchat. [snorts] So, it pretty much, if you don't know what that is, it's pretty much just you can click the add button and it pulls up anybody that's a mutual friend. So, maybe you have someone that he has on Snapchat. So it pulls your name up and you can add anyone there. >> Okay. >> Um, so he added me off of that. >> That was two years ago, you said. >> No, no, no. I knew him from 2 years ago. Sorry. >> This was uh I want to say maybe a month ago. >> Okay. >> Um, he added me off of that. We were snapping back and forth. Um, [snorts] he didn't really do anything like when we started talking. Um, I didn't know that he was over the age of 18 just because I knew him from before, so I didn't think anything of it. >> Okay. >> Um, [snorts] and then he started like asking me. He first said I was really pretty, so thank you. >> The girl reported that it initially seemed like a simple conversation with a teenager. However, Key later made an inappropriate request for a photo. When she refused, she stated that he used his uniform in an attempt to intimidate her. He then asked me if I could take off my leggings for him and show him and I told him no. Told him I had to leave the house soon so I couldn't. And then he asked me just to keep the leggings on and show him. And I said no, I have to leave. I didn't really, you know, what else to say at that point. And then I thought he would stop because I [snorts] said no, right? >> So I just left it alone. Um, usually I mean I have a long blocked list of guys that have done that to me. So, I usually I'll just block them, but since I knew him from before, I didn't really think he would go very far. >> Um, couple days later, I he snapped me when he was in his uniform. I asked him if he was a cop and he said yes. I asked him how old he was. He said I I honestly don't think he told me how old he was, but he said too old. And I said, and he said that I think that I I think his name is Milo Thornton. >> He took a picture of what he said. It pretty much said that he can keep a secret. >> Do you have saved screenshots of that? >> It's not screenshots on Snapchat. You can um do stickers. >> So I have stickers of everything that he said to me. >> Um >> Okay. >> There's eight or nine pictures of everything. >> Can I see those? >> Yeah. Now, you said he was kind of I'm sorry. Go ahead. >> No, no, no. You're fine. >> You said it was kind of being flirtatious, saying, "Oh my god, you're so pretty." And I mean, did he >> give the impression that he wanted to get into a relationship with you? >> Not a I can get you a better one. Um, not into a relationship. That's the one that I was just talking about. >> I could take um not into a relationship. He asked me if I could sneak out of my house. I told him no. Um, >> did he ask you why? >> Um, >> like how did that conversation go? >> I'm pretty sure he asked how he was able to see me and I told him he can't cuz my parents are pretty strict about guys. >> According to the victim, Keyy's presence at the school did not seem to be a coincidence. They had been communicating for over 2 years, which suggested he may have known where she would be. >> So, after you said, was it before or after you sent the picture in the B you guys were discussing your age? Um, I want to say it was before because I [snorts] didn't know I didn't ask him about his age yet. He had me. Um, he asked how I was doing because we haven't talked since years ago. >> Um, fine. Um, I honestly don't remember how my age got brought up, but he I told him I was 16. >> Okay. So today I saw him at the metal detectors when I was going in. >> He was here. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> And I had a little bit of a freak out. Not sure why. I just really really bothered me seeing him. Um and I was standing with my friend cuz she drives me to school and I told her that that was him. I went to the bathroom. I saw him again. Had to walk past him. Um kept my head down. Um, and then I went to my third period and I was talking >> because she's she makes it really easy to talk to her. So, I was talking to her. Um, and I showed her one of the pictures. Um, and she said that she was a mandatory reporter, so she reported it. >> Okay. >> Um, she pulled me out. Um and I talked to her and um the sheriff that was in there and then um he said that he had to call one. I told him it was probably best to call. It's really difficult to hold up. >> Okay. >> Here. >> Uh she like a counselor or >> said she's some sort of administrator. >> Admin. Okay. >> Okay. When you say cuz I saw the ones that says I want to see the other side, things like that. >> I'm assuming your butt. >> Yeah. >> Right. Okay. It was me in a bathing suit. >> Did he specifically ask for like how did he ask for? You say he asked for new. What was the specific verbage he used? >> Um, take that off or take off your pants or something of this sort of like take off your clothes. >> As the investigation progressed and the case became public, another victim came forward revealing that Key followed the same pattern when approaching his victims. >> Yeah. So, how did you meet him? >> So, just >> Okay. And how long ago did you meet him? >> Oh, >> ballpark. >> Years ago. >> A little over a year. >> Okay. >> Do you know how old he is? >> Yes. >> How old is he? >> He's 20 this April. >> Okay. Yes, you do know that. Um, does he know how old you are? >> Yes. >> How does he know that? >> Cuz I told him. >> How old were you? So, you would would have been at what age when you and he knew at that time? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, he has absolutely 100% knowledge of your age. >> Yes. Okay. Um, and did you you became friends on Snapchat just because you know him? >> Mhm. >> Okay. Did you ever have a relationship with him? Did you ever consider yourself dating? >> I wouldn't we never No, not like a ser like not like an actual relationship talking. >> Yeah. Yeah. Just kind of Yeah. >> Okay. >> And how were the conversations? cuz like I said, we we did we have his phone. We did a search warrant on his phone. So, we do have a lot of the content. Um I got a search warrant through Snapchat. That should be coming. Um but a lot of the content that he has saved to his phone. >> I want to know what you actually sent him to your knowledge. >> Yeah. So, um just like Yeah, probably everything that you saw was just like true. just not things that I'm not really proud of. Okay. You know, he was he's older. I thought I really really liked him. Um I don't want to victimize myself or or be dramatic in any way because that's not how someone should go about this, you know, but I was like manipulated and he would like say things and stuff and not even manipulated like, oh, I I like you so much like do it please. Just like in the sense that like >> um and I know my dad trusts me and everything so it's not like the worst thing. I just like I did do things I'm not proud of. >> The suspect used tactics to lure his victims. According to the girl, after she sent photos, he began making a series of threats if she tried to block him. Harassment that didn't stop. >> Did he send you any pictures of himself? >> Yes. >> Anything nude? >> Yes. >> Okay. Are they still on your phone? >> No, I never have had them. Like it was on Snapchat, so I off of it. I never saved them. I guess he could have saved something or taken a picture of it because I know he has two phones. I know that. And I and I guess he uses it to um do that. But um >> how do you know that? Other than you're very intelligent, but how do you know that? >> Know what? >> That he uses another phone to image the phone. >> Well, I know he has another phone because of like my experience with him and just like some stuff that would happen and like if I blocked him or whatever, he would use his other phone to text me. Um stuff like that. And then I kind of just connected the dots from there like um >> just Yeah. And if especially this, if he still has that, it's probably because of his other phone. Cuz with but Snapchat, it tells you when people screenshot or save. And I never got that obviously, hence why it went on for a little bit. But >> um [clears throat] >> not even a little bit, just hence why it went like on in the first place, right? >> Um >> and um I never I never was comfortable. I never wanted to do it. And he was just pretty adamant like oh um just like manipulative things that I totally fell for. Um but yeah, I haven't to anybody else. And it was just kind of him in my life was just like a complete like I was just a different person when I would come in contact with him. Different person. And >> he he Yeah. He Yeah. So >> does your mom give you and and the way you speak right now? It you you pretty much you're the one that's going to make your own decisions and the fact that it sounds like he kind of swayed you on things that you normally wouldn't do. >> Yeah. is that's what you're trying to refer to. >> Okay. Yes. Yes. >> Investigators identified at least four underage victims with the possibility of more. On March 5th, 2024, just one day before his swearing in, Key was arrested on multiple charges. >> Hey bud. >> Good. How are you? Like I said, this is just the stuff for all the everything that you turned in yesterday. Right. Right there. What signature for me? If you can sign. >> Where was that at? >> Right here. It's a signature serious warrant for your arrest. >> Maybe you want to get on some some slides or something. >> I'll be right back. You don't have anything on you right now. No, nothing at all. Separate your feet for me. >> Usually it's when they get kicked off. >> He has an attorney. Andy Maf or tomorrow or he made contact >> and Andy can go to first appearance and enter whatever on his behalf and handle that. So >> usually if you have a lawyer they usually kind of push you in front but it's a when you get seen it's like you said back to >> Yeah. >> Wait on the head of that corner for me. >> In the end key Chromemer pleaded guilty to three amended counts of possession of obscenity harmful to minors. He was sentenced to 8 months in county jail and received a permanent felony conviction. In this next case, an officer who had once been celebrated for protecting a vulnerable elderly woman from scammers was about to become the very thing he swore [music] to fight against. Just 17 months after being hailed as a hero, the officer ended up finding himself on the other side of the law. >> You're going to be under arrest. Okay, it's not a joke. Okay, that's why we're geared up. Okay, >> the charge is basically having communication with a minor. >> It's facilitating, encouraging, offering, or soliciting conduct or engaging in or communication had information related to an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old. >> Thanks. >> On August 15th, 2024, officers responded to an anonymous letter after parents discovered that their 14-year-old daughter had been engaging in inappropriate conversations with a police officer, exchanging over 60 messages a day. But as the investigation progressed to uncover his identity, it led to a veteran officer who had been with the department for decades. >> What you doing, Tim? Hey, just listen to me. Okay, >> you're going to be under arrest. Okay, it's not a joke. Okay, that's why we're geared up. Okay, know [music] you got a gun. I'd love to talk to you. I'm going to explain everything to you, but we got to take care of this right now. >> Okay, what's up? >> So, I'm going to tell you, but we're going to deal with this stuff right here. Okay. [music] >> Yeah. >> Is it is it on a belt like through the loop? So, we can just take off your belt and it'll come with it. >> Take the gun. >> Okay, let's fine. Anything else on you besides the knife? any other guns, ankle holster or anything like that. Okay, I'm just going to check you real quick and then what we'll do is we'll go upstairs. >> We're going to visit with you, tell you all the ins and outs of it >> and then if you want to talk to us, great. If you don't, we'll we'll let you know from there. Okay, let me just check you real quick. You sit over there if you'd like. I'm just going to sit right here. You can sit over there if you like. I'm just going to sit right here. Okay. Like I said, you're being arrested. Okay. Uh, basically, long story short, the the charge is uh basically having sexual uh communication with a minor. That's what this is about. Okay. Obviously, you know, the process. I'm not going to change anything up just because of who you are, but obviously we've known each other for a long time. So, it's not going to be comfortable for either of us. I wouldn't assume. >> Being under arrest, though, I got to read your rights. >> Sure. >> At the end of that, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I know you know I just got to do it. Okay. >> The suspect was identified as Tim, a veteran with over 30 years on the force. When investigators sat him down, he showed no reaction. He knew exactly how the process worked and he used that knowledge to his advantage. >> Okay, I'm going to read it and then I'll give you the opportunity to read it as well. Um, before we ask any question, you must understand your rights and the mor you have [clears throat] the right to remain silent. You understand that? >> Sure. >> And then having these rights in mind, you wish to talk to me now. Uh, you ask questions. I I may or may not, but I know I think I know what it's about, but >> Okay, >> you go ahead. >> And that's that's a deal obviously. Um, I'll ask questions and you answer them, that's fine. Um, you can stop at any time, that type of deal. So, as long as we're clear on that, um, I've got a few questions. Obviously, we have one side of the story. Um, and that's where >> why we need to talk to you. >> Sure. So, so having these rights of mind, do you wish to talk to me now? >> Yeah. I want to know my I'm being charged with what? >> It's basically I can read it to you. Um, >> let me read Can I read that just this? >> Yeah, >> I'd like to read the uh the report of their statement or something. >> Well, obviously the report's not completely done. The problem cause will be public records and you'll have access to that. So, >> but before I talk to you, I want to see what allegations been made. >> Well, the allegations probably explain, you know, explanatory in the in the charge that that's listed. It's facilitating, encouraging, offering, or soliciting conduct or engaging in communication [music] with a minor or a person believed to be a minor. That is that is the state statute. Okay. Go ahead. >> Okay. So, having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to me? >> Let's see. Yeah. Go ahead. I can ask questions. [snorts] >> This um form right here is just you understand right here and all sign. >> At this point, with years of experience on his side, officers knew they couldn't simply outplay him. As part of their strategy, they began to reveal the reasons behind the letter outlining the accusations against him. But Tim showed no fear, only a quiet sense of control driven by his own ego. >> So, probably a couple weeks ago, I got a the letter there was a letter sent to the chief's office. >> Okay. And it had information related to an inappropriate relationship um with a 14-year-old >> texting. Mhm. [clears throat] And so obviously our job uh the letter had some information in it in it that pretty much directed it to you. >> That's right. Yeah. >> Based on circumstances, the letter, what the information in the letter, everything. We could rule out everybody but you based on the information in the letter, how it was worded, how it was written, and so forth. Yeah. >> And so we started working on on the case um and we were able to gather some information >> how long ago >> this would have been last summer. So it's been [music] a minute. >> H okay. >> And so one I would ask you do you know what we're talking about when we talk about >> Yeah. I think so. Yeah. So tell us your I mean what what are we what are we doing? What why would somebody be writing this letter? >> Was it my sister? >> Could have been >> Sher Miller >> could have been >> or it was um Jim Worches, one of the two. >> And who? Sherry is >> my sister. >> Okay. And Jim >> is uh the uh he's the father of >> Okay. [clears throat] >> Okay. And so that's that's what the deal is. Um, I will tell you, we've talked to um a lot of people, you know, and that's why we're kind of here today. >> This is totally a surprise to me. >> I believe you. >> Yeah. I mean, >> I believe you. >> It's crazy. >> But why why would why would we get this information? Why would we get this letter? Why are their concerns valid? >> Officers knew how quickly their colleague could rely on his tactics to deflect attention. Tim remained unusually calm in his responses, using that composure as a way to manipulate them. >> Here's where I'm at right now. If if I tell you my story without incriminating me, am I going to walk out here today? >> Um, well, you've been arrested. >> Yeah, I understand that. >> Yeah. >> So, I have to be booked in all that other stuff. Yeah. So, why should I carry on? Maybe I should just get an attorney. Is is it going to help me to talk to you? >> So, here's what obviously my job and you know, I've been doing a long time. you had, you know, so there's nothing been filed with the with the uh DA. Okay. All right. >> And so obviously my job is obviously to grab as much information as possible and present it to the people that make the ultimate decision of whether formal charges would file. >> Right. But regardless of what is done here today, I will end up in jail. >> So I don't know why I should talk to you without an attorney. >> It's up to you. I don't see that that would help me any. >> And it's your world, right? Understand that. It's your decisions. What you think is best, what's not best. >> If you think this is >> not right, >> or if it's not accurate, >> it's not. >> It's curious to me why people are gunning for you with this type of information. That's all. And that is a decision you have to make based on whether or not you think it's >> important for me to know at this point in time. >> I just don't know why she uh we talked and she understood the situation and she just was pissed off. My sister, she just I man I guess I just really pissed her off. Well, we're talking what, seven months later. Mhm. [clears throat] >> Tim, in a manipulative strategy, suggested that the letter could have been fabricated, claiming that after a possible dispute with his sister, she may have created it as an act of revenge, an attempt to maintain the image of an innocent retired officer. >> So, she reported this 7 months ago. >> I just got the information, the week before last. >> So, where did you get the information? a letter came to the chief's office >> from >> from an anonymous >> just recently. >> Wow. >> Mid-Marchch. >> So yeah, if we based on what we know, we Yeah, that's I mean we're talking August, September of last year. >> Have you read any any text? Have you seen any of the text that was written >> well >> back and forth? Is that going to help you? >> I think it will. Yeah. >> Between you. Mhm. [clears throat] >> Yeah. >> Well, we've talked. >> Mhm. And she lied. Probably make something up. >> Why would she lie? >> I don't know. I don't know. But why am I here? >> Well, because the information that came out so far. >> Well, what what came out is not probably accurate. But I don't know that I need to talk to you guys anymore. >> That's okay. >> Yeah. All right. Let's do what we need to do. Okay. postpone and hope hopefully postpone go. >> Okay. >> Um, what do you have in your your your pockets? I just assume put everything up here and then we'll go down. >> This is your phone. Is this a department issue or >> we're going to we're going to take that. Okay. Um, the thing about that you want to give us consent to look in your car? >> Okay. We're going to get a a search warrant. It's okay. Totally get it. I'm not saying anything negative towards you. I mean, you have your rights. Um and we're going to do things by the book, but >> um we're going to get a search warrant phone. And then um we'll just keep trying to gather information. >> At this point, realizing his strategies weren't working, Tim began to show concern about what might happen to him. The information we gathered thus far is enough to uh >> life. >> You're not telling us anything we haven't talked about a million times. >> Like I said, this is retiring in 18 days. >> And there's [clears throat] the possibility I can lose my retirement. >> And although we we hear you, that ultimately isn't what we base our decisions on. It's the information we gather. So, like I said, you you you want to talk to a lawyer, I'm going to tell you this. Um, when you get out, you get a lawyer and you think it's beneficial to come back and talk. >> For sure. Come back and talk to attorney first. >> Yeah. And then come back and talk to me. Um, again, you know, doing this work and and I've been doing a long time, the more information I have, the better decisions we make. And so without saying anything else, we've already done that. But just I just want you to know >> I I really do want to tell you ex my my story or what happened, but I'm not sure that that's going to benefit me right now. >> And it may not. >> Yep. Because I'm still I'm still going to get booked in. >> Yeah. But that's why I open it up after after this process. If you think that's important to you and you need counsel here, more power to you, Tim. I I swear to goodness that's fine. It's intimidating to me, right? And >> let's sit down and visit about it, you know, because I've still got some time. We've still got some work to do. [music] And um we're going to try to do the best we can, though. That's all. I just want you to understand that. And part of visiting with you is part of that. So, definitely keep it open. Talk to your attorney. Holler at me. >> As it became clear there was no way out, Tim began to show concern, but not for the accusations. themselves. Instead, his focus shifted to protecting his reputation. >> Any questions before we get out of here? >> No, I just get through the process so I can >> I'm going to give you my card. I don't have that number on it just in case. Uh >> can I'm going to find out for you. I'll find out for you. Yeah. And let you know, >> please. I I know. I think I'm pretty sure we've done this before people out here. Uh certain people like people like myself. So, it would help you. >> I'll check. >> Okay. >> No question on anything. We're going to go um we're going to go out the same elevator we came in. Go down to the basement and then across instead of walking all the way down these halls. Sure. >> Um then we'll go from there. Okay. All right. Keep them together. >> Keep it all this together. Maybe even chilling glue in your >> How about just how about just throw this stuff in my car? >> Well, that's what I was thinking, too. >> So, okay. If you're good with that. >> Yes, absolutely. >> We can do it right now. >> So, the keys will be work. >> They're going to be with you in the >> until you say something else, you know, like if you want her to come up, but if she's got her own set, >> then you know, she can make arrangements. >> We just have to get her in. She uh >> all your stuff. >> Yeah. >> So, we're going to throw it all over the car, right? >> Yeah. >> Just less to hang on to. They definitely keep it all good.
