writer. >> You see a lady, >> you lift up that blanket and you can see he's snack enough. I need to cover the t >> officers are trained to handle the worst scenes imaginable and keep their composure no matter what. But what happens when they walk into something so cruel that even the most experienced among them can't hide their disbelief. >> Yeah, that's blood. >> Oh wow, >> that's a human head. >> Yeah, it's real. >> You went to check the poles >> on her neck, but all I felt was bone. >> The rest of the body's there. >> Yeah. >> Out on their feet. These were the moments when good cops were in disbelief after horrifying [music] discoveries. We begin with the case of a man who walked into a police station and confessed something so disturbing that officers dropped everything [music] and raced to his girlfriend's apartment only to find the worst waiting for them. >> When you say snap, like is she alive? >> I don't know. >> NO, [screaming] y'all find Did y'all find him? He is my baby. No, no, no. My baby. [screaming] >> On May 15th, 2024, officers in Sandy Springs, Georgia were approached by a man later identified as 29-year-old Motti Tombin, who walked into the station claiming he had just been involved in a difficult altercation. >> What transpired? >> We had a fight. >> Okay. It was late morning and um a frog from the front and um she jumped on me. She was the music jumping on me for like hours and I finally was snap. >> Okay. When you say snap, like is she alive? >> I don't know. >> Okay. >> I don't know. I hope she is. >> When you left her, was she alive? >> She was on cruise. I don't know. I can't tell. >> Okay. Um, >> do you live? >> Does she [snorts] also live there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. What's her name? >> Amber Kelly. >> Amber Kelly. Is that K E L Y or E Y? >> K E L L Y. >> Okay. You have any kids in the house? >> No. >> Animals? Just you and I? >> There's a dog in there. >> There's a dog in there. Big dog, little dog. >> Big dog. >> Big dog. What's the dog's name? >> Okay. um kind of an I don't want to say odd situation, but I'm going to I'm going to ask you for consent to go in and do a welfare check. Is that something you're okay with? I want to make sure she's okay. >> I don't know. >> I don't think she's open. >> All right. Well, you have any weapons on you? >> No. >> All right. Go stand up. Put your hands on your back. >> Right now, you're being detained. Yeah. >> All right. You're not under arrest until we can figure out what's going on. Hey, give me one sec, boss. >> By the time officers reached Amber's apartment, what they found inside made it immediately clear that the situation was far more serious than Tombin had let on. >> Sandy Springs, police, >> like two days ago. >> Yes, sir. You want to change it? Yep. >> Race police. S police. Sandy Street Police. Yep. >> Don't be afraid of the D. >> It's going to be close. Even though we we still need to get [clears throat] that bedroom. down [clears throat] here. Let me rer I just want to hell. >> Huh? >> Is that what that noise? [clears throat] He's a custy custy, right? >> Sorry. Not to touch too much here. >> Yeah. >> Going to check her again. >> That's all we did as well. >> She's down. >> Still, cold, >> not compatible. >> The hardest moment came when officers had to deliver the news to Amber's mother. Her screams echoed through the parking lot as she collapsed under the weight of what they were telling her. Through her sobs, she immediately named the person she believed was responsible, the same man who had already hurt her daughter before and who was supposed to be behind bars. >> I can't I can't take nothing bad right now. I really can't. God knows I can't. I just want to know my daughter is okay. >> MA'AM, UNFORTUNATELY, SHE >> NO. PLEASE TELL ME THAT NOTHING'S WRONG with my baby. >> JESUS DECEASED. >> NO. [screaming] GOD, NO. NO. [screaming] NO. OH MY GOD. NO. YOU GUYS, [screaming] WHAT HAPPENED? >> We are actively investigating it right now. [screaming] >> No, NO, NO. [screaming] My baby. NO, [screaming] NO, LORD. NO. NO, [screaming] MUMI. MUMI. Did y'all find Mumati? Did y'all find him? He has killed my baby. >> Sir, I can't believe that this is happening. >> What's his name? >> His name. Oh my god. My going to kill my baby. Oh my god. Oh my god. I made my own daughter for this night. Oh, that's why I couldn't get. Did it happen today? Cuz I tried to get my daughter all day yesterday. >> No, sir. I can't even move. I'm so weak. I'm so weak right now. I'm so weak. >> You You live here? >> No, I don't live here. The people the management call me because I'm her emergency contact person. Oh, my baby. No, this can't be happening. No. God, no. This can't be happening. This [laughter] can't be happening. This is a nice person that I've lost IN MY FAMILY. THIS IS MY BABY. THIS IS MY BABY. OH MY GOD. [screaming] OH GOD. Oh my god. Candace, somebody please. I need somebody to come with me. >> Sir, I [laughter] [screaming] Jesus. No. No. Let's go. >> Amber had suffered more than 25 separate blunt force injuries and her body had been lying in that apartment since the day before Motti called the police. At the time, he was already out on bond for two open domestic violence cases involving her. 2 years earlier, he had knocked her unconscious and left her with a busted lip so severe that her gums were visible. Despite all of this, Amber had taken him back. And now the consequences of that decision were irreversible. >> Basically, you said that this person left a note, Amber Kelly. Um, basically, uh, pet sitting, uh, seemingly being pleasant about barking noises. Uh, give her a call if if it becomes loud and whatnot. >> Exactly. Yes. >> And, um, so that you said that note was left about 2 weeks ago, >> roughly, we'll say. >> Yeah. I would say 2 weeks max. Maybe a week and a half minimum. >> That's okay. >> But we haven't really heard barking. I mean, maybe once or twice when like somebody's walking past and making noise, but it has not been disturbing whatsoever >> right now. Do you know what Amber Kelly looks like? >> I do not. >> You do not? Okay. Um, have you ever heard any kind of commotion, arguing, anything um from Miss Kelly's apartment? >> Not from next door from what we can tell. Um, we do I'm just like as far as what we can hear in this apartment. We hear our upstairs neighbors because they we assume have children and are really loud and anytime they play music we can hear it. >> We can hear on the other side when people go in and out of the door over there specifically at like night when it's quiet. >> Um, but we've never heard anything from >> that side of our apartment. The side that I'm assuming we the wall we share with Amber. Gotcha. Heard nothing. >> All right, let's do this. If you want to give me a second, I want to see if I can find a picture cuz it's important. I just want to see um if you can recognize the young lady and give me one sec. I'll be right back and I'll knock here in a sec. >> In the end, Marty Tombin was arrested and charged with malice and aggravated assault. On March 14th, 2026, nearly 2 years after Amber's death, Mattie was found guilty on all charges and sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 50 years. He is currently serving his sentence within the Georgia Department of Corrections. Next, a mother's unexplained disappearance overnight left her family worried. But what the daughters uncovered during their search would leave investigators in disbelief about what had happened. >> She called us every day all day and she we haven't heard from her. Nobody seen her >> right here. This is see your leg. >> I'm sorry. >> You see your legs? >> We are so sorry. Look. >> On October 20th, 2023, officers in Thomas, Georgia responded to an apartment complex after a family reported they hadn't heard from their mother all day. 56-year-old Margaret Lee Dubin, known as Melo Yellow, called her children every morning without fail. But that morning, no one had heard from her. And what was waiting inside that apartment would turn a missing person's case into something no one could have prepared for. >> Her kids, she call us every day, all day. >> Mhm. >> And she have we haven't heard from her. Nobody seen her about her. But once when she wake up in the morning, she calling us. She call her kids. She going down the line calling. >> And she don't see >> bought the car, but he's somewhere in it. >> And it's not out here. I seen my girlfriend seen that car going like he was going up like he going >> Do they have like have any like confrontation? They like they fight a lot. >> Yes ma'am. Yes ma'am. >> Has it ever gotten physical? >> She told me and I asked her and she I asked her last night and she said he got into it. Said yeah he put his hands on me >> on the phone when he was acting like he was here but he wasn't even here. >> He from Atlanta. He really from Atlanta. >> He wherever he can go. >> Yeah. He a floater. He a damn floater. He straight to the voicemail. But the strangest thing about this, we was talking, well, my sister was talking to the alleged boyfriend, but he um now I say her phone is powered off. >> I can't file for this information right now. We have to wait for the 24-hour period. >> Inside the apartment, nothing seemed out of place. But her daughters couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong. And when the officers left without answers, the family decided they weren't going to wait any longer. >> Police Department Those are his pants. I'm just wondering why he's leaving this money right here. I ain't trying to >> do you want to >> She normally carries her phone with her everywhere, correct? >> She She carry that phone everywhere she goes. Like she's never going to go without her cell phone. >> But he ain't lie to her. But we talking to my mama every day. Literally every day. And he left in the car. He called me around 1:17 yesterday acting like he hadn't seen her. She left the house >> 117 p.m. 117 p.m. cuz I called up on the phone said I ain't heard from her all day. Like he really just played my ass to the left. >> She said that too that day. I'm so sick and tired of fresh mother. I'm I'm I'm put this mother said that what you need to do me Mark. >> The officers had checked the apartment and left but Margaret's daughters refused to wait. They returned on their own, searching every corner of that bedroom when one of them reached into the closet and pulled out a suitcase that felt far too heavy. The decision to open it would lead to a moment no family should ever have to experience. >> I'm looking around like trying to see if anything different because I'm listening to um what Christian talking. So her heard bopping and after they hear my mom hollering and screaming, they hear they still hear stuff moving around. My sister pointed out Emily and said, "Well, this all his stuff right here." She had already packed up all his stuff, putting in a tote. I was like, "Oh, okay." But then Emma said, "But this suitcase right here, it feel heavy." I said, "Well, pull it out." >> I had when I walked in, I seen him pulling the uh he was pulling it out. I walked in there. So then he laid it down, open it up. He said, he said, "Kick it to check to see her." And I picked it, you know, I opened it up all the way to pick. It was just super heavy. I didn't want to open it. I just don't know. >> After finding what was inside that suitcase, one of the daughters dialed 911, screaming that her mother was dead. Officers rushed back to the apartment [music] and this time when they entered that bedroom, they lifted the blanket inside the suitcase and confirmed what the family already knew. Margaret Dubin was gone and her boyfriend Frederick Durham was nowhere to be found. >> How the police had the police come to 109 West? >> You found the missing person. Yes. >> Where? >> In her apartment. In a suitcase. We're finding a >> suitcase. Can you get everyone out of the apartment? >> Need an ambulance. Anyone there need an ambulance? [screaming] I said that he put >> right here. This is his leg. >> I'm sorry. legacy. Pull that back. >> Pull that. You see your legs? >> 38. >> All right, I'm getting out of here cuz they they were scared to go. They found the suitcase, but they were scared. >> All right. >> So, I just untied and opened it. So, it was her and then I told everybody to get out. >> Are you um my brother-in-law? >> Listen, we already tracked that card up as a child. I was going to give up this. We are so sorry. Look, he put he put in a suit. It's okay. >> You got tape in your car. >> Yeah, she's Yeah, she's uh You lift up that blanket and you can see her. >> She's deceased. >> Durham, Frederick Bernard Durham, I believe, is going to be our suspect. Took her car. It already on uh APD's. >> Within hours, a statewide alert went out. Durham was classified as armed and dangerous, driving Margaret's Gold Saturn. Just 5 hours after the body was found, an officer in Atlanta spotted the car pulling out of a gas station and followed it to a shopping center. Durham was taken into custody without resistance 80 mi from where he had left Margaret. >> I'm going try to see if I get eyes on this homicide vehicle. >> Hey, sir. You on the ground for me? >> Get on the ground for me. >> All right. >> Hey, just get on the ground. >> All right. This is the Saturn. I got two in there. Sam Charlie Tom 63394 Silver Road. >> No, I said stand by till we have everybody detain. >> You good? Just listen. I command you be okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. You got me. Thank you. >> All right. We got a passenger in the car. >> Okay. No, no, serious 58. That's affirmative. >> Are you are you are you aware about anything about this vehicle? >> Listen, sir. I asked them for a ride. Say >> I said, "Can you go take me? Get my clothes out, please. >> Gloves. >> Yes, it's a homicide vehicle." >> Back in Thomas, detectives sat Durham down for questioning. He started by blaming Margaret. Her mouth, her attitude, the way she talked about her exes. Then he admitted to slapping her. Then he described holding her by the throat, pinning her [music] to the bed, and hitting her over and over. But he still hadn't said a word about the suitcase. >> Sergeant Serge, we're investigators. Um, we're investigating the death of Margaret Dominion. Um, we just want to know your side [music] of the story. Okay. I don't want to talk about it. Talk about it. >> The only thing coming out of her mouth is [music] the thing she do, who she do it with, and who she used to do it with, and you know, all the exiting, and you know, all this and that. You know, I mean, that's you. >> How did y'all get back in the apartment? >> H >> How did y'all get back in the apartment? >> What apartment? >> Y's apartment. >> What do you mean? >> It happened outside, right? >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, no, no. She woke me up. Freddy, Freddy, Freddy, Freddy. You know what? What? What? She said, "It's 10 minutes to 7." [music] No. She said, "Um," she said, "I knew you I knew I couldn't couldn't depend on you to get up." She said, "No, you supposed to be taking me to the damn hospital." I'm like, "Whoa." So, I'm like, "What time is it? Don't worry about that. I know I can't depend on you. I can't depend on you, baby. Hold up. What the you talking about? You can't depend on me? What you mean you can't depend on me? I began to just I looked at her now. She's full of dress. I get up just have on my boxers, run out the door, run down the breezeway. So I was thinking she's going next door to Pam and Dei's house. Get De to take her. So I look, she look back up. We're going out. She's passing the dumpsters. I start walking towards her, you know, in my boxers. That's all. So I said, "Baby, listen. Damn. Stop all that screaming." First of all, second of all, stop talking that [ __ ] to me. Listen, we got time. Okay. She walked behind me, you know, went back in the bedroom in the closet, grabbed my shirt. I said, "What' you say?" Yeah, you heard me. I walked up towards him. Don't ever call me that word again. You've done that for the last time. I'm telling you now. you and you raise her hand up at me, man. And we kind of pushed her back against the wall and [sighs] back to back. No a couple times in her face. She was trying to I had a pen, you know. Could she breathe? I guess she could. She was breathing. She was breathing. Trying to bleed. Breathe. The nose would bleed. I go to the bathroom, grab a toothbrush, and brush my teeth. >> So, what how do you >> I don't know, man. I'm ready to go, man. >> The detectives finally asked him directly, "Why the suitcase?" Durham's answer was as casual as it was chilling. >> Can you answer me, why the suitcase? >> I don't even What the suitcase? Yeah. Were you planning on taking her somewhere? >> I just want coming in this year. >> You didn't want someone to come in just so many people comes and you know a lot of family members had keys to the house. saw some lottery tickets in the trash that you bought yesterday >> after like after you got off work. >> Yeah. >> Is that just like your normal routine? You just trying to stay >> Yeah. >> within your routine. >> Yeah. I couldn't do that though, man. I think Frank knew something was offbeat with me. He's a pretty perceptive guy. He just kept giving me this look like something, you know. I kept trying to, you know, put the facade going make eye contact with him when I was talking to him. >> Did you know she was out when you put her in the suitcase? >> You didn't know? >> Yes, you were. >> You don't man. God damn, man. This is like in and out. In and out. In and out. Blanking in. Blinking out. Blinking in. Blinking out. Man, >> was out. Knocked out when she was in the suitcase. >> I did not punch her cuz she was awake when she got in the suitcase. >> I didn't punch her. I'm saying was she awake? You're almost there. You're telling me she was alive when she went in there? >> How do you know she was alive? Was she alive or was she Was she win that suitcase? [laughter] >> You don't know, Miss Man. Well, then it's going to go down as you just being an evil person that shoved a lady in a suitcase [cough] [clears throat] to let her suffocate. >> She might have been I don't know. >> [snorts] >> Frederick Durham was charged with multiple counts including murder, aggravated assault, concealing a death, and tampering with evidence. On December 10th, 2025, a jury found him guilty and he was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, plus 5 years. Moving on to the case of a man who found a bag in the back of his truck [music] and called police thinking it was spoiled meat. But what was inside would be something no police officer saw coming. Hey. Uh, we apparently had a human head in the back of this truck in a trash bag. >> I'm not sure that her head was there or not because I just remember it being [snorts] bony. >> You don't think he killed me? >> I can see insect activity though where the neck used to be. >> In October 2020, dispatchers in Hot Springs, Arkansas, received a strange call from a Walmart parking lot. A man named Adam Webb told them he had just found something in the back of his truck that shouldn't be there. Officers assumed it was spoiled meat or discarded hunting remains, the kind of call they get all the time during hunting season. But when they arrived and unzipped that bag, their assumptions vanished in an instant. >> The outside bag I opened. >> Okay. And then what did you see when you opened it? >> I saw it in that second bag. >> And then you close it right back up. >> That's what you walked away. I didn't touch anything after that. If it's an animal, >> it looks like an animal. >> Yeah. >> Oh, wow. >> Let's shrink tape up around >> our cars. >> We're going to photograph it as it is and then we're going to tow it with wood. >> Okay. >> Which bag is it in? >> It's in this one >> in foil. >> All this was in that bag. >> Yep. >> Okay. That's a human head. >> Yeah, it's real. >> Okay, since the Halloween is, are we sure that this is some sort of whatever? Hey, uh, we apparently have a human head in the back of this truck in a trash [music] bag. This isn't like some sort of prank. This is a real >> Is it a real hand? >> Oh, yeah. No, it's real. >> I'm sure it's Halloween or not. >> Oh, it looks like a woman's head. >> Inside the bag was a human head. The officers immediately locked down the scene and Adam Webb, the man who had called [music] it in, suddenly became the center of the investigation. He told detectives he had no idea how the bag got there. He said he hadn't checked his truck before leaving his house. But with no witnesses and no footage showing anyone else near his vehicle, every question now pointed back to him. >> You're not in trouble. You're not under arrest. >> We're fixing to lock all this off. Okay. >> Now, I didn't check the back of my truck before I left my house. >> Yeah. Where do you live at? >> Maybe 4 minutes, 5 minutes from here. >> Okay. Yeah. You didn't notice anything in the back then? >> No, I didn't. But I also didn't go back there and look. >> Yeah. >> He's going to call his wife and have him come with PD. >> Make sure. >> Uh do you guys have any missing persons, females maybe in their 60s? >> Oh, okay. We uh we've got a head in a bag out here. >> I got there around noon or so. [music] Had a short grocery list. Just a couple of things. milk, flour, eggs. >> Mhm. >> Wife [clears throat] doing some baking. Came back out to the truck. I noticed something in the back. Looked a little weird. So, opened it up. I saw what it looked like and I backed away and called 911. >> Have you noticed anything unusual? Anybody strange in the neighborhood? Vehicles, anything like that? Um, I have seen a guy walking down the street, older gentleman with a backpack a couple of times and I don't know where he's going to, but okay. >> Um, I see him walking up and down our street. So, I don't know if he [clears throat] just walks everywhere or what, but I don't know him. >> Miles away in Deerfield, Missouri, a woman named Debbie had gone to check on her coworker, 63-year-old Connie Goodwin, who hadn't shown up for work. When Debbie forced opened the bathroom door, she found Connie in the bathtub. She reached to check for a pulse, but all she felt was bone. Conniey's body was missing its head and what had been found in that Arkansas parking lot was no longer unidentified. >> So you went inside calling for Connie. Obviously no answer. >> All the rooms the bathroom door was locked and so I I just started the door. I kicked it once and it busted on the not the door knob side and I saw Connie in the bathtub. Then >> tell me what you saw. You went to check the poles >> uh on her neck. But all I felt was bone there. I'm not I'm not sure that her head was there or not because I just remember it being bony. They had a son Aaron in Arkansas that has been having some kind of episodes and sounds like maybe he was schizophrenic or something. I don't know. Aaron that's with Johnny in Arkansas, Conniey's husband. >> With Connie identified, investigators turned to her family for answers. They brought in her daughter, Kayla, who told them her brother, Aaron, had been struggling with severe mental health issues. He talked about God telling him to do things. He believed people were hunting him. Detectives also spoke with Conniey's husband, John Goodwin, who was staying at a hotel in Arkansas with Aaron. John explained that Aaron hadn't been acting like himself for weeks. >> I'm crazy. And I don't even know if I'm supposed to say anything. um maybe 6 weeks ago or so. Um Aaron was involved in some kind of fighting war and he says that these people that jumped him and beat him up pretty good um have threatened him and then come after his family as well. >> Are you guys believers? >> Can I ask you that? Are you Christians? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. he's not been right and and he thinks God want him to go on a walkabout and I'm trying to help him and he and he I brought him down here and rented that place for 3 days and he goes well yeah I'll be up in [clears throat] a minute okay went up to the room probably a span of an hour or so and I go something's not right you know he'd been up here by now and I'm Now he's gone. >> How old is he? >> What I mean is he's dropped out. >> You know what I'm saying? >> Dropped out >> of life. He's not taking care of stuff. >> Okay. Does he have any mental diagnosis? >> Not Not really. No. >> Okay. >> Not really. But I mean, you can tell when someone's not thinking right, saying off the wall stuff like about God and stuff even, you know? It's like this morning she didn't come in to work and they found her out in the tub. >> And when did you receive this information? >> This morning after I had called here a little while maybe uh hour or so later. >> So after you after you reported your son missing, you found out that your wife was deceived. >> You don't think he did? >> Mr. Goodman had I have no idea. >> [clears throat] >> I think he would. [laughter and gasps] I think he might have. >> As the investigation continued, Jon made an admission that shifted everything. When asked if Aaron could have been involved in Conniey's death, Jon didn't hesitate. He said he thought his own son might have done it. Detectives then reviewed hotel surveillance footage and watched Aaron carry a black trash bag across the parking lot and place it into Adam Webb's truck before walking away. The footage cleared Adam completely and turned the full focus onto Aaron. >> We pulled in there. I went in, registered, I started to go upstairs and I didn't know how to work the elevator with the key. Then I remembered I didn't give him his key. So I came back out, gave him his key, like I said, everything else. That's what I remember. >> The trash bag that was in your truck. Um, and there is evidence in that bag that relates to the of your wife. There is >> How bad was she? >> There is >> How bad was she? >> There are body There is a body part. >> Oh god, man. >> In this bag. >> Your wife was decapitated. >> There was a note. >> There was a note. I >> forgot about that. It's in my cup holder. said uh something like, "I thought I was doing God's will." >> For months, Aaron Goodwin remained missing. Then, in March 2021, a hiker deep in the woods near Hot Springs discovered a sleeping bag beside a firearm. What remained inside confirmed what investigators had feared. Aaron had taken his own life, leaving his family with questions that would never be answered. >> The rest of the body's there. >> Yeah. Freaking out on that feet. And I can see insect activity though where the neck used to be >> that um I'll stick one person on the on the body and then I'm going hike out. >> Adam Webb [music] was cleared of any involvement. The investigation revealed that Conniey's death was tied to her son Aaron whose mental health struggles had spiraled beyond control. In this next case, a woman's unexplained disappearance [music] took a disturbing turn when her son's statement began to unravel. Because what officers found inside her house would make it clear she had never gone anywhere at all. Okay, I'm going to tell you like my mom had some dude trying to get at me or something and uh but I never came at her the same way. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Right. She's in the freezer. She's in the freezer. She's wrapped up in [clears throat] a trash bag in the bottom of her head. On October 28th, 2022, 3 days before Halloween in Albuquerque, New Mexico, officers arrived at a residence to check on Ernestina Lucero, reported missing by a family member. Before they could even get to the door, neighbors stopped them and what they had to say raised immediate red flags. Any y'all know the lady that lives here? >> Um, I know that older lady. >> There's a dude living there. >> Is that Leroy? >> I don't I don't know his name. Um, but he lived with an old lady. >> Yeah. >> Um, >> bless him. So, >> well, I know about like 2 3 weeks ago. Um, [screaming] hold on. Maybe 2 3 weeks ago uh after a visit that she took me to. I haven't seen her since. >> She took you? >> Yeah. She used to uh me and her we would go to the food bank together. Um so she ended up taking us back and forth after like a few times. I didn't see her again. >> Yeah. You haven't seen you haven't seen her charger here at all. >> She sold it. >> He sold it. He asked us if we wanted to buy it. We had asked him like where did she go? And he's like she went to Mexico. Uh he he was saying a bunch of things about her leaving to Mexico with her boyfriend. um and that they were on a speaking basis right now. And then like a couple days later, he came in and he's like, "Hey, by any chance, do you want to buy my car? I'm trying to make money for rent." That's what he said. >> How long ago was that? >> Like a week ago. >> I know. My brother asked him like, "Where's your mom at?" Cuz we haven't seen her in a while. And he like stuttered and he just went silent. Uh Kim, >> please when when they >> they were fighting before she left. >> That was my that was my next >> They were fighting before uh she left. Uh I know there was a couple nights where they were going at it. I have a 2-year-old and stuff >> and I've asked them to, you know, just take it down a little bit. Uh he said he's thug [laughter] >> Yeah. Yeah. before she but this was like she's been gone for a while. >> Yeah, she's been gone for at least like at least a month and a half now >> if not more. I don't know. >> Nobody had seen Ernestina in over a month. Her son had sold her car, offered shifting explanations, and gone silent the moment her name came up directly. The neighbors had noticed and the more they [music] talked, the more it became clear that something had gone very wrong inside that house. >> She had asked me the first day I met her, she asked me about the mailbox because she uh needed to get her check to for her social security check. She said uh she said that she needed to get her check before he got it or something that he was trying to take it. >> I was going to say she went to Mexico, but dude, she could barely walk. >> She could barely walk. >> After nearly 15 minutes of knocking, the door finally opened. The man inside identified himself as 49-year-old Leroy Vallejo, Ernestina's son. He was calm, cooperative, and full of explanations. And not a single thing about him suggested what was already inside that house. Come on, man. Yeah. Come on. >> He's coming to open up. >> Sorry, man. I thought you were someone else, dude. >> Mind if I sit and talk to you real quick? >> Yeah. Yeah. No problem. Can I step in and talk to you? >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Come in. I just >> dogs friendly. >> Yeah, they bark. I mean, they bark. They don't bite. >> Officers identify the man seen here as 49year-old Leroy Vallejo, the missing woman's son. man. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Can I shut the door so you don't run out? >> Uh, my partner's coming in, too. >> Okay. >> Yeah. But >> yeah, man. I thought you were the lady >> banging on the door. My bad. I was sleeping, dude. >> Okay. >> It's been a rough two weeks, man. Sorry about that. I've been >> What's been going on? >> Mom's missing, man, with college work. I've been over stressed, tired, you know what I mean? >> Right through 36. >> Just trying to get some rest, man. >> Okay. >> Exhausted from worrying. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. The reason why we're here is cuz uh family is concerned and saying that they've been trying to reach out to you that you just kind of been >> calls, man. I'll show you the text messages, everything. I've never [clears throat] ignored none of them. >> You should. Okay. All right. >> I don't know why they Okay. I'm going to tell you like my mom had a some dude trying to get at me or something and uh but I've never came at her the same way. >> What do you and she's been >> like dudes that harass me and stuff, >> but uh I've never went at her like that. You know what I mean? >> So, uh they know what she's capable of, so they're afraid of me doing it, I guess, is why they're thinking it. You know what I mean? But I've been Dude, this has been going on for years. You know what I mean? And I've never once raised a hand to her. You know, this last time I just told her, you know, I'm just tired of your lies. I don't believe you, man. I don't even think we should be around each other. It disgusted me cuz we used to be close. >> Mhm. >> You know, we weren't always like that. And I'm sorry it is the way it is. But if I would have known, I would have paid more attention, asked more questions. You know what I mean? >> Mhm. >> But it's just where we were, man, at that time. >> Okay. >> And I haven't been in trouble with the law since I got out of prison. I'm in college, man. 4.0 student president's list. 15 times straight, dude. >> Into the Lord now, you know. Mhm. Okay. >> The last time I had seen her when she came in, I I asked her, "What are you doing?" So, I've been kicking with she I've been seeing is what she said. And I just went to my room. I thought she was going to crash here in her room. I woke up in the morning. There was a load clothes in the washer cuz we have a front. So, she tends to leave the clothes in there and it stinks the front loader. >> So, I thought she was in a room. So, I went in the room and she was gone. So, I put her clothes to dry. That was the last time I seen her, man. >> Mhm. Okay. All right. And before that, she didn't mention anything about going anywhere, seeing anybody. >> You're still there, man. >> While one officer kept Leroy talking, another moved deeper into the house. What was inside that kitchen was about to change everything about this investigation. >> Oh, yeah. I got you. Mom, she [clears throat] said that she When officers found partially dismembered human remains wrapped in a trash bag at the bottom of that freezer, they moved immediately to place Leroy in handcuffs. And what came out of his mouth in that moment was something that stopped every officer on that scene dead in their tracks. He already knew. And that was the most chilling part of the entire arrest. >> The first week uh week after 15 to 17 What's [snorts] up, boss? >> Let's step outside. All right, >> go and put your hands behind your back. >> Right. >> She's in the freezer. >> I know. I know. Man, >> be quiet. >> Hey, uh Okay. >> Thank you, man. Hey. Uh, let me So, what did you see, >> dude? She's in the freezer. >> She's wrapped up in a trash bag, >> but it's clearly the body of her head. >> In the interview room, Leroy spoke calmly about witches, about darkness, [music] and about things that had been done to him. Detectives kept listening, and somewhere inside everything he was saying, something far more concrete was beginning [music] to surface. >> No one believes me. It's all good. E, because you know I it happened to me and I still don't believe it, bro. [clears throat] I still can't make sense of it. Most of it's lies anyways. You never get them to get the truth. You know what I mean? Who's Who's lying? I don't know, man. There's a I don't know who they are, what they are, what the I don't know what the they are, man. witches. Uh I don't know what you call them. People who are giving their light to darkness. You know, my family, I come from a family of witches. My grandma, my aunts, my mom. It's not something you talk about really. It's a secret. You can't talk about it. And I don't know if I was promised or I've heard so many lies. Dude, >> when you say you were promised, what does what does that mean? >> Bino promised to Satan >> like by >> promised my my my mom. Yeah. >> How did How did you find out from that? It's >> just [ __ ] You got to learn from other witches, you know, that ain't into it and [ __ ] You got to talk to them, ask them questions, you know, and then you're still just guessing really cuz >> I despise evil, bro. I mean, what I did was a bad thing, and I can't ever take that back. Only God's a judge. >> Leroy shares an unusual story with detectives, [music] saying his family is quote full of witches who he says are out to get him. Next, detectives look for more details on Ernest Tina's death. >> What? What happened on that day? >> I snapped, man. I had enough of [ __ ] secrets behind my back. You know, they tell you one thing and but behind your back is this and that. All I do is cook, clean, do laundry, cook three meals a day. You know, little things used to do uh make you look bad, you know, cuz I'm doing it at the house. I can't even get a job cuz of these people, dude. I had to pursue my job. [clears throat] I know. Trust me, they didn't have me. I wouldn't believe it, bro. But I don't know how they get so much influence or what they do, but this would be nightmare, bro. So, I think it's a nightmare, man. But here's a quarter. It's on fire. You know, it looks like a quarter. It's on fire. And he drops this quarter. And when he drops it, it rolls down my head, down the middle of my nose, down my arm, and down this middle finger. And I jump up and I'm like, I have the nightmare. I go back to sleep. Morning comes around. I told my grandpa's wife, I'm going to use a balancing wash up. And when my face when I look up in the mirror, there's a burn mark everywhere that coin [music] me all down my middle finger. I don't know what that meant. Maybe that I don't know. Somebody said that that might have meant that [music] my soul's his already paid for it. You know what I mean? You think the evil got inside of you and that's what >> n the [clears throat] evil? >> Yeah, >> when I when that happened. >> Very evil, bro. Not me. I did a bad thing, but >> and I own up to it. >> Yeah. >> As a matter of fact, I want to ask this. See, special case. I want to pay life for life. >> Before the interview ended, Leroy made an unexpected admission. A prior murder years earlier. A body dismembered and discarded. The confession when it came was delivered without remorse. And it didn't stop where detectives expected it to. >> What happened to your mom? My last 17 years she's been trying to get these schools to kill me. These gangsters rumbled again. Mhm. All right. So, let me tell you how that happened. Well, she picks me up. Love it. Man, I want to come home. I've never had problems with her, dude. She's always been my best friend, my come to, you know, always be around. This is when 17 years ago. And uh >> What did What did you do? Help me to understand. You looked at it, man. You saw it. >> Detectives repeatedly pry for details behind the gruesome crime before Leroy stuns detectives with an unexpected confession. >> Know where you get your old man Angel chopped him up in that freezer. E and put in this dump somewhere. I couldn't do that to her. like she was trapped after all that [ __ ] [clears throat] she's done to me. Yeah, there's another bott though. Her old man's in dump somewhere. Apartment put him in bags, chopped him up, and threw him away like trash. >> You couldn't do that to mom. Can you hold on to him? Cuz they were, [clears throat] you know, trying to set me up. I walked in this room like I put gun down. I told her to call the police saying, "Were they living together?" >> That Camaro that was his. >> They used to be his car. Pop. I put the guy down. I said, "Turn me in." I was going to kill her, too. I couldn't. She tells me, "No, I need you out here." Next thing I know, we're looking around for a something to chop him up with. Hey, get rid of the body. I never got rid of a body. But that's my mom. I'll do it. You know what I mean? Whatever she says. >> Mhm. Where where was this? >> It took me 2 hours a day to chop that girl up. Get rid of him. You know what I mean? My mom's been in thating freezer for 3 weeks. [music] E 3 weeks cuz I couldn't chop her up like that. You know what I mean? I tried. You must have saw that. But I got sick and started. What'd you do to her before that? She woke up talking some about this and this and that. Lies, dude. Straight lies all the time. Like I'm stupid. Like I don't know any better, you know? I I took put up with all that [ __ ] cuz I loved her and I prayed and I was wanted it to change. >> What did your mom say? What kind of lies is she telling you that made you strengthen? >> What sort of [ __ ] [clears throat] >> You know how I told you she admitted they got these guys after me, >> right? Yeah. Yeah. >> After that, she started saying she'd never do that. that she never would ever got nobody after. She loves me. It's all [ __ ] >> So, she was telling you like I wouldn't send people after you. >> No, she's already working on the neighbors up on number one. I thought maybe she's just a witch, you know, she gets them some cuz she told a couple dudes that I beat her. I've never ever done nothing what I've done now. Never. That's never crossed my mind. >> Wow. What' you use to strangle her? >> My arm like that arm. >> I don't remember. >> Okay. >> Like this one. >> How long did you hold her? >> Wow. It took a long time. It's not like ink. >> Took a long time. How come he held her so long? >> Huh? >> Why did you hold her so long? >> [clears throat] >> Why you ask questions like you know why you want to you kind of made that decision that I had to stop. She stopping. I I beg you to pay with her 17 years ago. It was 17 years. It was 13 years her boyfriend. >> 13 years ago that happened. >> No. 13 years into this. You have been after me. >> The more Leroy talked, the more the detectives had to work with, and the deeper they dug, the clearer it became that every word out of his mouth was leading them straight back to the core of the crime scene. >> Did you Did you put any of your mom out in the dump? >> No, I couldn't. >> So, she don't come near her in the future till you guys found her. >> Okay. >> You know what I mean? I literally copy and then went. >> Yeah. >> I never told him no. I never told him where not to look. >> Yeah. You know what I mean? I just wasn't going to do that. >> Yeah. >> I wasn't going to turn myself in, but I wasn't going to run either. I forgot. >> So, Leroy. Uh, so when your mom was >> What did you use to cut her up? >> What did I use to cut her up? >> Yeah. >> Saw [clears throat] under the sink in it. >> Saw under the sink. Did you notice anything else? >> No. And >> where where did you where did you cut her up? >> What's that? >> In the freezer. >> Oh, she was in the freezer and that's where you cut a couple times. I couldn't do it here. A leg both leg and arm or something about right here. >> She was laying in the freezer as you were cutting. Um, now I didn't get rid of her like did her boyfriend. What the [ __ ] I couldn't do [music] it. Eh, I didn't want to kill her. >> Now, Leroy says he used a saw to dismember his mother after strangling her to death weeks before, but his admissions don't stop there. >> How How long did you wait before trying to cut her up? >> Let me ask you a question. Is this true? If you wait a couple days of thinking, >> um, >> is that true? Uh I don't I don't know. >> I never never actually heard that. But uh you never actually >> Is that what you did? >> I waited a couple days. >> Okay. [clears throat and snorts] I thought, but I don't know if that was true. It kind of don't matter when you freeze them. You know what I mean? >> Mhm. I mean, I've done it before. >> Next, Leroy gets back to what happened the day he allegedly murdered his mother. >> She wanted me to put that uh phone case I ordered for her on Amazon. You know, that [music] that front protector piece that >> Yeah. Yeah. Like the little black screen protector. [clears throat] >> She's like, "Come on, put this on. I can't do it." You know, do this. Do that. And it's just cool. Like you're like say you're supposed to do for your mom, but but your mom's supposed to be your mom, man. You know, not all that toothpaste behind your back. >> Did you her at all? >> Nah. >> Ever? >> Nah, never. I wish I didn't do that. >> Do you think it was wrong what she did? >> Nah, it was wrong. There's only one judge. That's God. I should let him judge. But no matter what she's done, I I should have let you I shouldn't have done that. She should have died a long time ago. >> In the end, Leroy Vallejo was booked on an open count of and tampering with evidence. He was later deemed incompetent to stand trial and committed to the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute for treatment. His case remains open. Next case, a strange smell coming from a parked police cruiser led to something that no one in that department could have prepared for. [music] Our breast machine is broken. So kind of the only option right now is no my going to come out with alcohol like yeah I'm alcoholic. I was supposed to be in detox but I had c been able to go because I get washed and it smelled really bad and and I said dude this was like damn and I looked in the back. I'm like, "What the?" >> On March 20th, 2026, officers with the ISUsa Police Department spotted a vehicle driving without headlights. What began as a standard traffic stop quickly revealed more concerning signs: slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and the smell of alcohol with children in the back seat. >> Yeah. 6in. >> Okay. Gotcha. >> Yeah. I just got these guys in. I don't have >> You said So you have an ID? >> I do, but it's on the door handle right here. >> Okay. Where is it at? >> Right there where the little cup goes. It's right here. I reach for it. No, I'm knocking. No. Oh, you want me to reach for it? Where's that? >> Just right here. You open the door. It's right here. >> Yeah. Go ahead. Get it. >> The driver, 37year-old Eric Valencia, was cooperative throughout. Nervous, candid about his drinking, and worried about his kids the entire time. Every test he was put through told the same story, and none of it pointed to anything good for Eric Valencia. >> They expired or no? >> No, it only expired till uh 2032. >> And And that's a driver license. >> Yeah. >> How long were you here? I've been living here for 25 years, but I just got back home from Texas probably like a year, year and a half already, or like 9 months or something like that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. They just got they just came from Texas. >> From Texas. >> Yeah. They live their grandfather lives in Texas. >> Mhm. >> Their mom lived in Texas. So that that's where they were at. That's where I was living at, but they separated. I >> Their mom lived in Texas. >> No, they used to live in Texas. >> Yeah. Yeah. But they live in Poner now. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Hey, man. Go and look at me real quick. Go and look at me. You give me a drink today. >> Nuhuh. >> Earlier. >> What time? >> Part say look at me. Don't Don't move your >> your head. And then uh follow follow my finger. Follow my finger. No. Don't move your head. >> Oh my my eyes are messed up. >> Don't move your head. You have medical conditions? >> Me? Yeah. I I fractured my eye right here. I'm in my cheekbone. your cheekbones. >> Yeah. So my eyes and my sign like all this is always running. It's >> always running. >> Yeah. >> Okay. But you have like that stigmatism or anything like that. >> I don't even know what happened. I haven't been to the doctor in a minute. >> Okay. >> I got this on my forehead too. They got to cut it off. >> Okay. >> But I I haven't got a chance cuz I'm always in the hospital. My dad and look at my look at my finger and follow my finger with only your eyes. Okay. Do not move your head. Understand? You understand? Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. Keep looking at your feet. Count out loud. Count your steps out loud. >> Keep your hands at your side. Okay. >> Remember when you start the test, do not stop the test until it's all the way done. Okay. >> So, it's nine. Turn around. Nine back. >> Yes. Do you need to see how I turn around? >> No, I didn't. So, do this a certain way to turn around. >> I explain to you how to turn around. >> I know you did it three times, but I'm getting nervous. >> Okay. So, you mean to repeat the instructions? >> No, it's nine. The turn around part I >> Okay. So, so when you once you complete nine heel toe steps on your nine steps, you're going to keep your your forward foot planted. Okay? You're going to use your other your back foot and take a series of small steps like this. Okay? And then you're going to take nine back. One. That's all. >> All right. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Do Do you Do you have Do you have any questions? >> No. >> Yes, sir. Okay. Don't stop until Okay. >> One, two, boom. Boom. Boom. >> All right. Breathe. Make sure you start in the start position. All right. This. Two. Three. Four. Damn. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. All right. Ready. Deep breath. Find you. Go ahead. Light blowing. If it's not going to get the full one, you just tap that and it'll take it right then. >> Okay. What if it wasn't going at all? >> I was going up. >> That's fine. Yeah. Okay. All right. Go ahead. Back. There you go. Palms in there. Hey, how about my kids? >> We're going to talk to you about that right now for one second. Okay. Yeah, >> we're going to make sure they're safe. Don't worry. You have neighbors. Who is this guy that walked across the street? >> That's their uncle. The grandma's up there. >> That's uncle. Okay. >> Later. Okay. >> In one second. >> Yeah. >> Yes, sir. >> So, you're going to arrest for DUI. Okay. >> For DUI. >> We're driving under influence of alcohol. I'm under I'm not influenced. >> Okay. >> Are you okay if we uh just either prove or disprove that if we if we conduct the test at the jail and they'll come and >> Oh, you're good. I'm not alcoholic, sir. >> Okay. So, are you okay if we come and do a little draw and we could, you know, send to lab and they get if you're not drinking then it'll it'll prove that. Okay. >> Yeah. Is that okay? >> Is that okay? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Perfect. Hey, just just so just so you know, um my law we have you have to give us a sample and it's breath or however our breath machine is broken. So kind of the only option right now is because >> no my going to come out with alcohol like yeah I'm alcoholic. I was supposed to be in detox but I had haven't been able to go because of the hospitals and >> Okay. Well, the the you know the lab will determine all that. Okay. >> Eric was placed under arrest for DUI and endangerment. his BAC coming back at twice the legal limit. 3 days later, he was released, but he walked out of that station and never went home. 3 days later, a maintenance worker approached a parked patrol vehicle outside the station, hit by a smell he couldn't place. When he opened the door, his stomach dropped. >> I was going to move back. I gave it a wash and it smelled really bad, dude. And and I said, "Dude, this was like death." And I looked in the back. I'm like, "What the is that?" I open the door. Hey, dude. What the [ __ ] I thought he was a homeless. >> Yeah. And as soon as I saw the praise, he's been a >> someone for sure. >> For sure. >> What's his name? >> Eric Valencia. the 23rd, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So, is that the guy that arrested last week? >> Uh, [ __ ] >> What's your name? >> Uh, Eric W. Left. >> Where's the fish? Um he's in the back of the truck. Um yeah, >> he's he's he's >> looks like he's decomposing. Is it >> on the back of the unit right here? >> Back to this one. >> Yes, the back seat. show you. >> Sorry. >> Are they open? You just like got in there? >> I I had no idea. I just got out here. Um, he actually Where'd he go? So, he actually discovered him. I just got here. >> Okay. [laughter] >> Yeah, presumably it was open. I climbed in. I don't know. >> The discovery of Eric Valencia's decomposing body immediately ignited a firestorm. The department decided to release the footage, putting it all on the table for the public to see and letting the evidence speak for itself. The investigation remains open with no clear clue as to what actually
