Stupid cops. Stupid mother. >> I got you on camera. Don't you let me go. >> It's been she's not the first time she's gotten physical with me. >> The situation started routinely. [music] A call, a concern, a simple explanation. But as the conversation continued, it grew more complex. >> The pictures and and she throw the painting at at me. I did have to peep in myself. I'm three months party. >> This video raises a question. What happens when adults struggle to stay calm enough to keep aiment for children? Let's follow the officials reviewing the situation. >> Stupid ass cops. Stupid ass mother. You put your hands on me, let's arrest me, right? >> This mother increased the tension while interacting with police, not realizing that letting her emotions spiral was making her legal situation more serious. On April 10th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a residential neighborhood after a report of a family disturbance. According to the initial statement from the man involved, his girlfriend appeared unwell, emotionally overwhelmed, and engaged in behavior that crossed personal boundaries toward him and his son. >> What's going on? >> All right, so my girlfriend got drunk. Her daughter supposed to be having a kid today. >> Okay. >> Well, she got drunk. Who's this? >> This is her aunt. I called her to come get the kids because she wasing me. >> Okay. her mom come over to get her so she go to the hospital. Well, she was drunk, passed out, she wouldn't wake up. Well, around 9ish or so, 9:30, maybe a little later, she ended up waking up. Started blaming me. It's your fault I didn't go get to see my daughter. Blah blah blah. Started me her son. I have video like she needs to go. She's got to go. She put her hands, she out of me in front of her hands. >> Hitting herself doing like >> herself saying that she's gonna say that I hit her and during all this >> and she's saying, "Oh, you hit me first." Well, you know, she told him a long time ago that he she's going to sit there herself so that um and of course this is what he's telling me. Of course, I didn't I wasn't here at that point that she's going to so that he'll end up going to jail. >> But do you know that she's in there hitting herself now? >> She right there in front of us. >> She walked out in front of us and then she like was like, "Oh, you going to jail? on my face. >> And I saw that too. >> Came upside the face with her hands and all that. >> What about What about on your chest? Anything like that? >> No. No. Like No, she just my face. >> What's Was that a tattoo on your chest? >> Yeah, that's tattoo. >> Um both like coming at him like this, you know, on both sides of his face, his ear and everything. >> And I'm Every time I try to walk away, she steps in front of me. I've been living here since >> since October. I go to work, I come home and I deal with her being drunk. >> I've been trying to avoid it, you know, cuz she had kids, but how many times do I got to get hit? >> She has a case open on her right now for being with the kids from that >> and like they told CPS. They went to the kids at school, told CPS they hit him. Y'all are in a relationship? >> Yeah. I've been living here since we've been together for uh almost 3 years now. I've been living here with her since the end of September. I got work first thing in the morning like >> and if I take him and I I leave with him, she'll destroy everything. >> She'll destroy the house. >> I don't know if you watched her. >> She forehead your hair up >> multiple times. No more on the sides. >> Yeah, it's mainly like right here and like right here. >> Yeah, she really does. Like cuz I don't want to press I don't I don't want to see her go, but she needs help. Well, the only thing was that >> I know it's domestic. I know. >> I know. Trust me, I know. >> That's why that's the whole reason I had her in over here cuz I knew if I didn't have no witnesses like like I said, I got videos and stuff, but it would have been her word against mine. >> All right. Can you let me in so I can talk to her? >> I could try. >> I have a key if you have to. >> Okay. >> Tell me her name again. >> Here. >> Bring the >> I am. Will you bring the key? Sheriff >> Carrie Sheriff's office, open the door. >> However, this account was quickly denied by the woman, even as some of her relatives shared their own perspectives. >> Hi. >> Hi. What's going on? >> Um, well, it's I tried to out him out and he said, "I'm calling the cops." >> So, basically, that's what happened. So, you're saying that you right here? >> So, I told him he needed to go and I I shut the door and locked it and he's like, "I'm calling the cops." I said, "We'll call the cops." >> So, you didn't him at all? >> He's like four times bigger than I am. No, my daughter was having a my first granddaughter tonight and he got upset cuz Mike's husband was going at the hospital and he's like, "You're not going up there." Well, it's my first grandchild and he's been fighting with me ever since. I mean, it's not the first time he's sent up for the most. >> Well, here's the thing. Um, your aunt is saying you were the one and then Hold on. Let me let me let me talk. Let me talk. She's saying that she was cuz she came to get the kids and she saw you and then you went back inside and made a statement that you were going to yourself and so that way we would believe you that he was putting his hands on you. Cuz I'll tell you right now, the consistency of those marks on your chest appear as if you did that. >> No, it's it's that it got me. >> You sure about that? I'm I'm completely positive. It's not the first time I've >> Because like I said, your aunt who's right there is going to get came >> saying that you him. >> Can I speak that >> because she only knows what he's told her. >> She said she was here. >> I didn't him at all, much less in front of my aunt. >> Well, I don't think she would just u >> make this up. >> So, that's your girlfriend? >> Yes, sir. Okay. >> And >> and you're and you're his mom? >> No, I'm her aunt. >> You're you're her aunt. Got it. >> I came to get the kids who were in the car for >> Gotcha. >> Now, one of the kids says herself or something. >> Called other kids. >> Seven. >> Unexpectedly, her own explanation appeared to create inconsistencies that [music] did not work in her favor. After all, when there has been no clear incident, conflicting details in a statement are difficult to overlook. I >> I don't know what to say. She she favors uh there's nothing I can say that's going to make it any different. She favors him. But regardless, >> so I don't think that she would just be making that story up. >> I'm not making a story up. He >> No, no. I'm saying her. >> And I'm not I don't know why she would just >> Well, she got here after. What am I supposed to do? Like just let him >> Well, what I'm saying is she said she was here when this happened. >> No, she showed up afterwards when I asked her to come get the kids. So, why would she tell me that she was here and seen this? And listen, and >> tell come here. >> She didn't get here till afterwards when I asked her to come get the kids. >> Yeah. >> Hey, Caleb. Tell >> her to come here. The female. >> Yeah. >> You didn't get here until after things happened. When I started fighting back, that's a little bit different. >> Carrie, all I know, and this is all I know, cuz Noah [snorts] was not here. See, >> I was here listening to you hollering and screaming >> cuz he hit me in the freaking face. >> Brantley says you him. >> Brantley, >> that's Ask him. Well, you can't go ask them cuz they're down the road. >> Well, not only that, Kevin's been trying to >> How old are the kids? >> Seven. >> Both of them are seven. >> Yeah. And I didn't. >> And when I got here, >> when have I ever hit kids? >> I don't know. Kevin told them with a bag of candy if you tell the cops that he'd buy him a bag of candy. Are you serious? >> No, I got an open case already for Brantley telling the teachers that you him [snorts] >> and you're sitting there right in front of me yourself like going crazy slapping yourself and then you him and this is what you when your kids are in there then they're going to have seen all this too. the kids. >> That didn't happen till after you took the kids. And no limb is done because I was busy and I'm sick of everybody taking this. >> You who was passed out drunk. I told you if you'd stay straight, Carrie, everybody would believe you. But as long as you're drinking, okay, nobody's going to be able to take your side. >> We love you and we've been around. You saw the videos. >> No, I didn't. I couldn't watch them. And I know they're me. He's hollering and screaming. He can He can holler. >> I don't deserve to see my friend hanging. He hollers louder than anybody you've ever seen in your life when he gets mad. You know, the kids came and ran up to my car saying, you know, their mom is doing this, their mom is doing that. I don't know. I wasn't here, but then I saw >> her him and then slapping her. That's what I saw. >> Well, he while I was here, he didn't. >> He was here trying to get the kids >> face. She herself, too. >> Yeah, that's different. I'm not I'm not going to sit here and lie. Okay. No, you don't need to lie. >> So So here's the thing. Listen, how do you expect me to believe that he you in the face >> and that's not the same same mark that you put on your face when you put the same ones on your chest? >> I mean, you weren't here, so I don't expect you to believe it. Do you see the first time you hit >> Do you see the the situation you put yourself in when you just openly admit that you come inside yourself all up? >> But you're also saying he you if he had hit you and then you have a mark right here, what reason do you need to come back in? Scratch yourself all up. >> I mean that that's logical. That makes sense. But >> everybody believes him. I'm so sorry. >> Well, it's hard not to when you come when you do this >> when I do the right thing. >> And then your aunt right here is saying that you were on him. >> No. Did I? >> Yes, you did. Carrie you both sides of the face just like >> he deserves matter. >> You're telling him you didn't. >> He's way bigger than I am. >> That don't that don't give you the right to just on him. >> You wh were whailing on him. He you earlier maybe, you know, but I flat out dared him to go in there and touch you. I dared him. and he didn't the whole time I was there. >> Well, I'm going to talk to the kids. Uh, I want you to step out here and sit down on this block. I don't want you to go back inside till I'm done. When the adults statements lack consistency, officers had to seek additional input from the children to complete procedures in accordance with regulations. >> You have the kids? >> I do, and I don't want them to hear all that yelling. >> I got you. All right. Well, I'm going to talk to them real quick and see what what they'll tell you. >> Just talk to y'all for a minute. Okay. >> Hello. >> Nobody's in trouble. Going to jail. >> No, no, no. What's your name? >> I told you. >> Oakley. >> Oakley. How old are you, Oakley? >> Seven. >> Seven. >> We're twins. >> They're twins. Okay. What went on inside the house? >> My dad and my mom start a fight. My mom has been on me. >> Okay. You tonight? >> Yeah. >> Where at? >> On the ribs. >> On the ribs? >> No, that was last time. >> You don't know where she >> She drinks fireball. >> Yeah, but I'm saying you don't know >> fireball. >> You don't know where she >> I forgotly. Kevin >> painted a picture and mom liked it. And when we were sleeping, Brenley told Kevin and then mom said no. And when I opened the door for Kevin, mom like and we ran in her room and mom tried us. >> Okay. >> Not you. She She grabbed the picture and and [snorts] she throw the painting at at me. But she did Kevin. >> She did. >> Her stepdad. >> Okay. >> Yeah. He He didn't um He has a white shirt. He didn't um um touch you. >> He didn't touch her at all. >> Yeah, he didn't touch her. >> So, I'm going to cut her straight into the point, man. She She's about to go to jail. >> What was documented afterward led officers to proceed with standard measures involving the mother. This resulted in heightened emotions and a loss of composure while she was seated in the patrol vehicle. >> Hello, I'm Deputy Waters. Hey, you stand up for me. Hands on your back. >> Do not pull away. >> I'm sorry. Can I hit this one more time? >> Absolutely. >> Thank you. >> Do you have some slippers or something inside? >> Yes, sir. >> Except for him. He's not going to get in trouble for that. >> Well, here's the thing. There's multiple people that's saying that you hit him. No. Nobody's ever Nobody's saying that that that he ever touched you. >> He did. >> Like like I look listen to you. Like I explained to you earlier, you openly admitted yourself on your chest. >> I did. But he still >> Why? What makes you think that a reasonable person would believe that that mark that you have a mark right here? >> I do. >> That he did that when you openly admitted that you were doing this. >> You went out. Do you want to talk to my neighbor? Cuz they were here. >> That they went out here. I can't say. So >> good luck paying the rent. [sighs] >> Stupid ass. >> Enough. Stop it. I ain't got What's enough? If I'm going to jail anyway, you can swallow. >> Yeah, >> stop it. >> Oh, no problem. Congratulations. Don't you dare go to the hospital and see my kid grabbing me like that. I'm not biting you. >> Yes, you are. >> Pants are falling. Oh, my pants go down. Good job. Good job. >> Well, if you cooperate, these things wouldn't happen. >> No, if you wouldn't be grabbing me like a psych. >> Cuz you're pulling and twisting. >> I'm not pulling. I'm talking. Talking. Not pulling and twisting. You're pulling and twisting. Is there anything on here going to get you in trouble? >> I hope so. >> Is there anything on here that's going to get you in trouble? >> I don't think we're safe. I really don't care what you mean. You don't care about how safe you are. I swear to God I'm about to bust a window. Watch me. Stupid. I hope you [screaming] rott in hell. Your daughter don't want you. I'm about to bust out a window. [screaming] I'm about to take this [ __ ] off. I'm about to bust the window. Watch me. Watch me. Stupid. Lock my door. Oh my. Hey. No. No. No. [screaming] No. No. No. No, it's not his house. I'm about to break something. Y'all want to get [screaming] stupid? Open this door. [screaming] I I got to do it. I don't want >> I know it's just the booze, man. >> I know you didn't. Oh, great. Hold on. Stop it. >> Lock my door. >> She slipped her cuffs off. >> Don't. Yeah. Hold on. We're going to wait till Hannah gets here. >> As a result, she faced additional consequences related to non-ooperative behavior in the vehicle. More concerning, the overall situation indicated that the children's environment was no longer truly [music] safe or stable. >> Man, y'all some cops. Trans mask. I thought that was illegal with Trump. Stupid. >> Is she damaging stuff or is she just throwing the fit? Well, she's not damaging stuff. >> Stupid. Got a cut on my foot. And you don't need to unlock. >> Dude, how the hell How the hell did she get those off? >> I know. They were tight and double. >> He is not allowed in front house. >> Hey, go over there. The window a little bit so she can hear me. >> Lock the door. That is not his house. >> He lives here. >> No, he does not. And I'm going to tell you this. >> He does not pay bills. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. >> He does not pay bills here. >> Listen to me. >> You're getting another charge for the >> And when I open this door, go lock my house. >> When I open this door, >> shut up. >> Stupid piece of [ __ ] Go [ __ ] >> I'm going to tell you is you turn away. Turn. >> I already told you. >> Turn away from me. I already have. >> You told me what to do. I did it. So, what's the problem? >> I guess he can live under Pensacola Bridge. >> Stop moving. >> I thought it was done. My bad. Did I say we were done? >> I hope a man you >> Oh, let me guess. You're too good for that though, right? Don't >> shut the door again. You think I give a >> I don't give a Go bang your own head. Maybe you'll learn something. What? Say it again. [screaming] Say it again. Can she hear you? [screaming] Stupid. You let a man woman. You stupid motherucker. The mother was charged with criminal damage to property, domestic battery, and escape. [music] Under Florida law, she could face between 1 and 5 years in prison. Children truly thrive only when they feel safe in their own home. A calmer word, a timely step back by an adult can [music] protect an entire childhood. Caring for children begins with choosing composure over emotion. >> You don't want to get into the ambulance now. >> Now you're going to go with us. >> Don't do this in front of your children. While cooperation is generally the most appropriate approach when interacting with police, this mother chose to hold the child to avoid the situation. On February 28th, 2023, officers intervened after receiving a report about a mother who appeared unwell while picking up her child. From the outset, they observed difficulty maintaining balance [music] and inconsistent responses during the interaction. >> Excuse me, ma'am. How you doing? >> Fine. >> You were here to come pick your kid? He's trying to give me a call. >> You mind having your son sit in the car while we just talk to you? Or we can go inside? Who's mama? >> I am. >> Your mama? >> I'm fine. >> You don't have to talk to her. >> No, it doesn't matter about her because I'm already going to >> You should be happy for her for being worried about your child's safety. You can't get mad at her. Nothing Nothing's going to happen when you do that. You're going to stay there and I gave you the option to put your kid in the car while we talk to you. If not, you're going to wait out here until we finish talking. >> You're not going to do this to me. >> Thank you. >> Are you serious? I'm not a psycho. I'm not >> Who said anything about being a psycho? I'm trying to call your husband, but when I call from my cell phone, it doesn't go through. So that's why I'm asking if you got a phone on. So do you have it or no? Cuz I'm trying to be pretty civil right now at this point. But if I have the full regalia, I'll do that. But I'm trying to handle this pretty low level. >> I'm not afraid of you. >> No, I said I want you to be afraid. >> Oh, I'm not afraid of you. You're not going anywhere. You have to stop. You're not going anywhere. >> Do you have your phone? Yes or no? Call your husband. >> We're trying to It's in my car. >> It's in your car. >> Can you stop? Okay. Well, you got to talk to us. Hold on. He's going to the car. Where in the car is it? >> Oh, dude. >> You have the key. Can you open the car? >> There's nothing in my car. >> He's looking for your phone. We're not searching your car. >> I'm looking for your phone. It's not sitting out on the dash. What do you think is going on here? >> I have no idea. I just want to go home. I literally live. >> You're not driving. So, we're trying to get you home without taking you to jail. Quit arguing. I'm done. Get you home. >> Scary. Maybe. >> I asked you to put him in the car and you said no. Why are you doing this? >> Cuz you're intoxicated and you came to pick up your child. >> No, I'm not. I'm not intoxicated. >> Are you high? Okay. There's an open bottle of vodka on the front seat. So, what's that about? >> Do you want to explain the open bottle of vodka in your front seat? >> Me and my husband, please don't do this. I just want to go home with my kids. Please don't do that. I got four kids. Please. >> Well, we weren't trying to do anything, but you can't find your phone. You can't tell us where your phone is. What's in the middle? the phone. Who >> broke my phone? >> Who broke your phone? Who's he? >> Hm. >> Me. >> I'm legitimately not finding your phone anywhere. >> It's in the middle. >> I'm looking in the middle. >> You have an open bottle of vodka in the front seat of your car. >> You came to pick up your child. We try to get in touch with your husband so he could possibly come pick you up. And now EMS is going to come. They're going to check you out and we're going to go from there cuz we cannot contact anybody for you. The only phone I'm finding in the car is the one that's broken and does not turn on. There's no other phone that I'm locating. And you said your kids are at wrestling practice. Where at? They're at the barn. >> At the barn, >> please. >> Okay. >> In the car. >> The interaction with the mother did not lead to much progress. Instead, the child who did not directly involve took the initiative to help [music] officers contact a relative. >> Ma'am, what you doing? My phone. I found >> you found Is that mama's phone? >> Yeah. >> Good job. Where's that at? >> I found it on the ground. >> Thank you. Can I see the phone so we can call daddy? Can you pull up? You got power. >> Why would you want to do this? >> Do you want to go to jail? Keep talking. Do you want to go to jail right now for child? >> Keep talking. >> How? >> Did I do >> you have a charger? >> Just let me go because that's a kid. That's a kids. Let me just let us go. >> You're not going anywhere, bud. Why? We'll talk to mom about that. Okay. >> What's your husband's name? While I'm waiting for your phone to charge up. Huh? Michael, >> you're not allowed to take my phone. Wait, >> we're charging it for you. So, you can make a phone. >> You wanted to charge, right? You said fix it, right? >> You're not allowed to. >> It's charging. >> What's What's Where does she live? >> By law. >> They say that they live in Hidden Lake. >> Be quiet, please. >> Hey, roll up your window. >> By lie, you're not allowed. >> You asked them to charge it. He's charging it. >> Give back >> JD. Give it back to her. >> Go actually. >> You know what? You're You're going to go to jail. That's who's going to jail, too. How did you get here? You drive here. But my kids go to school here. >> And you drove here intoxicated with your kids in the car? >> No, I'm not intoxicated. >> You have medical issues? >> What? >> I'm asking. >> Oh my god. What? Are you kidding me? >> I'm not kidding you. >> Okay, I'm going to actually record all of you. >> We're recording you, too. That's fine. >> Are you kidding me? >> I don't think anybody's kidding you. >> How are you going to put me in jail when you are the one that's wrong? >> How are we wrong? >> How are you wrong? >> How are we wrong? You are telling me that I'm wrong through some stupid [ __ ] through school. >> How many kids did you drive up here? >> My two kids. >> You're coming to pick up your two kids. Are you willing to blow into a PBT? >> No, because why would I do that? >> To prove you're not intoxicated. You said you're not intoxicated. >> I'm not intoxicated. >> You didn't have anything to drink today? >> No, it doesn't matter what I had to drink today. >> It It does. Did you have anything to drink today? >> We had nothing. >> I'm not talking to you, bud. So, how much did you have to drink today? >> Just stop. I didn't have anything to drink. No alcohol to drink today. >> I had one drink today. >> When was that? >> We went to drink at Nico's. >> What time was that? >> Right down the bar. What does it matter? >> I'm asking you. What time is it now? >> I'm telling you. Don't you have children? Don't do this. >> I do have children. >> I literally live right down the bar. >> I'm not drunk. >> Well, people here call concerned that you were intoxicated. >> I could I could give me the line. Let's go. >> You want to take field sobrieties? >> I could do it. >> But you're not willing to blow into a PBT. >> Oh, man. I just came home from St. Pete. >> Okay. You you don't want to blow into a PBT, but you're willing to take field sobriety tests. I'm just asking you, what's the difference? Why are you more concerned about one and not the other? >> I could do a field sobriety test. >> Hang on. >> And I'll win. >> You'll win. >> Oh, yeah. >> Cuz I'm not drunk. >> She showed up at the school. Some of the parents were concerned she was intoxicated. She says she's only had one drink at 4:00. The situation grew more tense when the mother continued holding the child closely while officers attempted [music] to proceed according to protocol, making matters more complicated. >> 141. >> I am one person. Oh, don't you dare. >> You don't want to get into the ambulance now. >> Now you're going to go with us. >> Don't do this in front of your >> Don't do this. Don't do this. >> Let me go. I'm telling you right now. >> I got you on camera. Don't [ __ ] let me know your son's hand. Let it go now. >> Let go of your son now. >> What the are you doing? >> You lost your mind grabbing a hold of your kid like that. >> She was grabbing a hold of the kid and refusing to get checked out and then trying to use the kid >> to block her cover. >> No, she's going. >> No, she's going to go now. >> She's going. >> Why are you guys doing this? >> Why are you grabbing on your kid like that? >> Cuz you guys are wrong. What are you guys doing? Ah, >> you remember when you were a kid? When did you get more in trouble? When you started mouthing off to your parents. Probably. Right. Same thing here. We're trying to help you. >> Mom, what are you doing? >> We take moms and dads to jail every day. >> Listen. >> Sit down or we put you in. >> I'm asking this one, right? >> Yeah. >> You might not get swings. Come on. >> All right. Enjoy the ride. >> All right. So, unfortunately, she's going to jail now. So, medics were called because she's in tax to get her checked out. So, get out of the car. I tell her that you're coming and she just starts mouthing off again. So they walk over there with your son to go in the ambulance. Where >> my son at? >> In the ambulance. He's he's hanging out in the ambulance with the medics right calling her phone because then someone's ready. I drag my kids from wrestling. I got a new a fourmonth-old at home. I got to get back cuz my nine-year-old and 8-year-old are there now. I got to get him back. I got to get this car back. I have to leave this car here. And where is she at? >> If she's going down to our public intoxication, >> she's going for child intermit and resisting times too. Your son's fine. We got to call DCFS because now she was also trying to clamp onto him to prevent her from going to jail. So I had to pressure point her to get her to break her grip on your son's arm. >> Oh my god. >> So there's an open bottle alcohol. It's barely empty, but my sergeant saying that she mentioned she was at Nico's drinking earlier and a whole bunch of other stuff. So she's clearly intox. I could smell it with this wind blowing. >> Dad's here, bud. >> You're going to bring it with you? >> Hey, thanks guys. >> Bye buddy. >> Let me move the car. >> Yeah, go ahead. I got to get back. >> Get back to your kids. I got your phone number. If I need something, I'll reach out to you. >> I got three kids that go to school here. This is not good. >> At the station, the atmosphere gradually [music] shifted. No longer reacting strongly, the mother broke down in tears and spoke about marital pressure, emotional exhaustion, and personal struggles. Everyone faces unstable periods, but children should not bear the impact of those crisis. >> Come on. >> I can't move. >> I know your legs. That's how you have to come. There you go. You got it. Why did you always do this to me? I'm a mother of four. >> Yeah, we know. Let's go. Just sit right there. Have a seat. You resisted arrest. Go ahead. >> How could you do this to your mother? >> To a mother. Is that what you said? >> Yes. Any mother? >> Mothers, fathers, kids, everybody commits crime. >> I'm not a horrible person. >> You don't have to be a horrible person to commit crime. Okay. >> How could you do this to them? >> How can we do it to a mom? >> Yeah. >> Almost everybody in here is a mom. Whether you're a mom or not doesn't make a difference of what happened tonight. You wanted to blame everybody else today. You need to sit back and think about what you did and what to put. Hold on. I'm not done. I'm not done. You need to sit back and know what to put blame on yourself. You are just putting a blame on every single other person tonight but yourself. You sat here. You blame me. You blame the the lady that was at the school. You're blaming the other officers. You're blaming the ambulance. You're blaming everybody but yourself. You need to sit back and think about your actions tonight, not ours. We were there because of your actions. We didn't just show up out of the blue. It got created because of you. So, please don't sit here and try to do this whole mom and all that stuff. I understand and we empathize with that, but you you need to figure out yourself. You are the mom with four kids, not me. You created this issue. You got yourself in this situation. Okay? So respectfully, don't try to sit here and guilt me and tell me that you're a mom. You think we're not dads? >> Okay. And everybody in here is a mom also. >> I'm not, but I don't need to go to jail for it. I I didn't mean it. >> Well, you should have thought of that beforehand. But don't sit here trying to guilt trip me. And don't sit here and blame everybody else. >> I'm not. >> You have been. >> That's why you're crying because you finally got to realize this whole time you've been yelling, doing all that stuff towards everybody else. You need to sit back and think about yourself. You have four kids at home and this is the situation you got yourself in. >> Have you ever been arrested before? Let this be the first and last time for yourself and for your kids. Let this be the first and last time. >> Where did you grow up? >> I grew up downtown Chicago. >> You grew up in the city? Okay. So, is all of this new to you in the suburbs? >> Okay. >> All right. Are you having a hard time at home? >> Yeah. >> What's going on? My husband's a lot older than me and we're just trying to figure it out and it's really hard. I just got home from Florida actually. >> Okay. With him or by yourself? >> With him. >> Did it help 138 your status? >> I thought it was >> It doesn't help. >> 813. Thank you. >> I know exactly what you were going to say. >> It doesn't help going away for a while. >> You don't right now. It's too late. But now you're going to have to you're going to have to fight and you have to do what you need to do for yourself. Okay, I get it. Home sucks. I understand. And it gets to you. It's stressful. How old is he? >> My husband. >> Mhm. >> So, he's the one that's in his 50s. >> Okay. Go. Right. His first name is >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I know. >> Have you ever need sympathy in your heart? >> I get it. But right now, it's too late. We've already passed that threshold. We've gotten too far already. >> How? >> Cuz we're here. You need to figure out what you're going to do. Okay. I'm going to give you my business card. And if you need help from us >> or you need help from me, >> you'll you'll get out. >> How >> you will >> how >> you will >> how >> you will. Let me explain something. >> 4148. >> Your actions tonight can never happen again. Four kids, right? >> It can never happen again. Whether you're going through struggles at home, your kids go through those struggles, too. It's not just you. So, you got to do what you need to do for your kids. I'll give you my business card. You need any help from Hold on. You need any help from us, our social workers, anything, just reach out to me and I'll help because I get it and I understand. Life is hard. Life sucks. We all go through it. >> I don't overdose. I'm not a psychopath. I'm not that way. >> No one's calling you a psychopath. >> And don't don't think I'm sitting here judging you. I have my own I'm not I have my own problems, too. >> You just let go. I'm not >> I'm not I'm not judging you. >> You let me go. >> I can't. And I'm not calling you crazy, but you know you made bad decisions tonight. We needed to do what we needed to do to make sure you didn't make an even worse decision because you could have and you could have risked your life and your kids' life. You need to understand that whether you're down the street or not, the worst accidents happen down the street. It's never a 6hour long car. >> The mother was charged the life of a child and two counts of resisting a peace officer. Under Illinois law, she could face up to 3 years in prison. We hope that after watching this video, viewers see more than just a difficult situation being handled, but also an important message. Caring for parents emotional well-being is also a way to protect the safety and future of their children. A troubled relationship does not only affect two people. It quietly reaches hearts too young to understand what is happening. On July 15th, 2023, police responded to an apartment complex after a call about a dispute between a couple. Upon arrival, a visibly distressed woman approached them. She said she was 3 months pregnant and had a young child with her. According to her statement, her boyfriend had been controlling shared property and behaved in ways that made her feel unsafe. Concerningly, these tensions unfolded in front of a child. >> Hi, how are you? >> I'm good. I probably got called on um this man. He has taken my keys. I have four phones. I have a this iPhone and I have another iPhone. My other iPhone has videos of him and he's trying said in the morning I could get my phone and he'll give me my keys to the car so I can go. I did have to defend myself. I am three months pregnant with a one-year-old. He was on top of me. I could not breathe. So, I did have to hit him to get him off of me. I am admitting to that. This morning, I said, "Can I get my phone? I'm going to be at the McDonald's all day until my mom comes. I feel like that's a safe place." I said, "Can I get my phone?" He didn't give it to me. Instead, pushes me and judges me and grabs me all over. So, I have to push the property. I said, "Okay, fine. You don't want to get my phone no more? I'm leaving the property and you could keep my phone and my keys. I'm leaving. Um, I'm just going to wait till my mom comes. I already signed up for a homeless shelter. I'm leaving the premises. >> How long y'all been together? >> Probably about 72. >> How do you know? >> 64ies. >> Who does the car belong to? >> Right. >> It's in my name, but I'm paying for it. I recently filed for bankruptcy, so I can get it back. But I told him I want the keys back cuz I can't the payments. And I don't think it's fair that he gets to push me and tackle on top of me. And I'm pregnant. >> What's your name? >> My name is Autumn. A U TU. I'm just trying to go to a safe place. I don't want it to get any worse than it is. And that car is in my name. We have making payments. It was recently taken by the state and I did file for bankruptcy so we can get it back. But I'm going to dismiss the court case and I'm going to return that 225 Pacific. He has been paying on it but it was in my name cuz I have I don't want no ties with this. I didn't ask him for the case and my phone instead. I get tackled and pulled and keeps recording. He has recordings of me asking for my phone from last night. My other phone has video footage of him iPhone 11. I have this phone that he took from me but I took it back. to put it on the table. Did not I saw this phone is my phone that's >> I have a iPhone 11 that he claims it's his but it's mine. >> It's in my name. I can pull up email. >> What have y'all been fighting over? >> So last night his kids he wanted me to watch his kids but I literally have video his kids slammed the door on my foot and I refuse to watch them. They cuss me out, call me stupid bees. I have a video of it on my Instagram. I have videos of them just going crazy and I refuse to watch them. And that's what he was mad about in the first place. I started recording it like I always do because no one believes me. And I sent it to his parents. He got mad. I was recording it last night. Took my phone in the video. He had my phone behind his back. I said, "Can you give me my phone?" He says, "There's nothing behind my phone. I don't have behind my phone." And his son is recording it. And then he goes out. When he goes out, he goes put in the room somewhere and he says, "Your phone's in the room the whole time." And then he asks his son, I said, "Do they have behind his back?" His son said, "No, cuz they're all on his side." I called, you can see my phone right here. I called the miss place yesterday and they said, "I have to follow the police." I said, "Okay." After today, when he kept grabbing me, I pushed him off of me and I guess he bumped his head or whatever or maybe my nails. And when I pushed him off me, I said, "I'm done with this. You can keep the phone. You can keep my car car keys. I'm going to go to the safe place, which I feel like it's um the McDonald's up for me. I'm going to stay there cuz I don't want to get in jeopardy of nothing. >> Where's your mom?" >> My mom should live in here first. >> If all this is going on, why haven't you called the cop? >> I was going to call him as soon as I got out here into a safe place. And I feel like he he feels he says threatening things to me. And if I called the cop, he's going to show the video footage of me asking for my phone. He had it behind his back. He went out and he went it and I said, "Give me the car key." He says, "I am returning that vehicle." I filed bankruptcy. It's going back. You could He has videos of stuff and he's saying I'm in front of this autistic kid, but all I ask was my phone. He has an autistic kid and he's cussing and yelling. I said, "Can you give me my phone?" He manipulates me to thinking that I'll be living like and stuff. And I'm so young. I think it's okay. I had a two-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom. I moved out of there to move in here and move here with him. Basically, it was just glitters and gold and I fall for every time. But this time, I'm going to a domestic situation because all of my nails broke off. Last week, his son slammed the door in my face and call me a stupid me and I have to hold my breath at home. Then last night, it was just too much going on. It was 4:00 in the morning. I can't just walk up. I said in the morning said, "When you wake up, if you when you wake up, your phone and everything will be under your pillow like a bear princess." And when I woke up, it wasn't there. So I go to him and say, "Can you give me my phone? I'm literally about to go." >> And all this happened this morning. >> Yes. And then he refuses. He holds and pulls me in front of the kids. And if you want to ask for a testimony, don't ask the son. The son is the same one who called me a stupid bee and was laughing. Ask the oldest girl. She got dark skin. He literally was on top of me and I'm pregnant. I cannot breathe cuz I had my phone recording him. He said, "I'm going to wipe off all the footage." >> I have video on my other phone. >> Where is your other phone? >> And I do want to let you know I have a taser there. So if you want to go through it, I don't want you to think this is for my protection. I don't want anything to happen. >> The mother shared that she had been in a high pressure relationship for a long time but did not seek help earlier due to fear. >> Did you have your taser on you when the confrontation occur? >> No, I did not. My taser was in my bag. >> Oh [ __ ] >> I think it's on this one. And I actually made a post on Facebook and somebody who lives in Atlanta who is going through the same thing or who went through the same thing gave me some advice. >> Well, if it's been like this, why haven't you called the police? >> It hasn't been this rough. It's just been like cussing and mental. The furthest thing I got was from his son last week. It has not been this terrible. He has never put his hands on me. Paul didn't pull me or any of that. >> You watch this video. This is on my This is on this phone. >> I don't want to cause no trouble. I'm literally >> I gave him the close of my phone because he wanted to get the footage. purple. >> Took my purple phone and hid it. I don't know where you put it. >> You want to see it? >> Yeah. >> Where's my purple? >> Can you >> Where is my other phone? >> So, you get to get the close to my phone. my mind said he was going to give me my phone if I give him that phone call my phone >> that was just y'all arguing or back and forth. Yeah, that's him saying that he's not >> I thought you said that you had a video of of him actually like pulling on you. >> No, I don't have a video of that. He took my phone. I couldn't record. I have a video. >> He took that phone as well. >> No. Yeah, he took this phone and my other purple phone. So, this was like after and this was actually on my Android. I have four phones, but my other purple iPhone has like a lot of footage of my stuff. I don't want to cause no leaving the scene and I am going to a domestic place. I'm leaving the premises. I am 3 months pregnant. I don't want no nothing else to happen. What domestic place? >> Oh, it's one in there was one downtown, but I have to go to one in Brunswick cuz that's the only place for me in my garden for a family. >> So, you've already called and made arrangements. You got a bad? >> Yeah, they said I have to make a police report in the morning and then they'll figure it out from there. My mom will drop me off in Savannah. >> Where does your mom live? >> My mom lives in Florida. >> So, where you going now? >> I'm just going to go to McDonald's and wait for my mom to come. >> You going to push a baby stroller down Salem Road? >> I really don't have a choice. >> You do. You got two police officers right here to take you there. Um I store our um car 6 in the house but I don't I don't know. >> Does that phone have cell service? Yes. >> Why didn't you call us? >> Because I was and I just felt very uncomfortable. >> Right. But you're away from Right. >> So why didn't you call us? >> And I'm not trying to put the onus on you. I have these conversations all the time with people in these toxic relationships. Why do you never call? >> I was in a class as soon as I sat down and collected. I really was. >> How many children do you guys have together? >> Um I have this one and then my baby in my stomach. >> Okay. And the other two, I guess, are his from previous >> Yes, other four kids in there. One with autism and then three others. >> At a time when she felt distanced from her family. The man had once been her source of support. Over time, however, his controlling behavior made the relationship increasingly suffocating. >> We've been together how long? >> Um, for 4 years since I was 17. Well, 5 years now since I was 17. And he's been here. So, you can imagine the manipulation. I'm not trying to cause no. I did have to defend myself. He was on top of me. >> Why have you stated? I just feel like it's a manipulation thing and I I'm adopted so he kind of told me that he loves me and he will go buy me stuff after he be meets me. So I think it's like that's love cuz I come from an adopted family who never loved me. So he takes advantage of that. And I think when I was 17, my parents forced me to go to the military cuz I feel like I didn't have a choice and I feel like I have nowhere to go but I am going to the domestic place, excuse me, and um bettering my life and I know what it means to be. walk you >> I was going to but I ran a waiver account but my my dad >> no my dad was in the military they feel like I need to go to the news I did not >> but they said that you just said that they forced you to go into the military >> I was trying to after I graduate or they on the streets >> so did you ever get to the point where you even enlisted so you didn't at no point like I could say I tried to go to college right I didn't I didn't take steps >> sufficiently it was either go to the military kicked out on the streets and that's where I met him >> and it's just And I moved out to my parents house. Then I got stuck back in. I moved out to my own place. Got stuck back in two bedroom part. I moved back in in February and it's never gotten this physical. I never felt the need to put my hands on him at all. But I have to protect myself and my screaming for help. Those kids were watching. They didn't record facts. They recorded. >> So what exactly happened this morning? >> The mother shared many details but was unable to provide clear supporting evidence. Even so, given her vulnerable condition, officers considered appropriate steps to help ensure the safety of her and the baby. >> So this morning, I tried to tell them, "Can you give me my phone? Cuz you you said when I wake up, my phone and my keys will be under my pillow when I wake up like a fairy princess." He said, "You're not getting it. You'll get it when the cops come." And I said, "Can you give me my phone? I'm literally about to go." And then he started to grab me. I took one of his other phones cuz he wouldn't give me my phone. I go take his phone. >> What do you mean he grabbed you? How did he grab you? >> Okay, so this is my arms. He's grabbing my wrist, forcing me to go back, pushing me back. It's very uncomfortable. Grabbing me, gripping me so I won't get up so he can grab my phone. >> Serious? How long ago was this? >> This was probably like 30 minutes ago. And I think one of my nails cut him when I was trying to get off of him and he started. >> She said you have a total of four phones. >> Yes. >> Did they all work? Are they old phones that you just kept as you get new ones? Are they burner phones or what? >> This one is the only one that's on. My other phone is what I used to record. >> It's just going to be a civil issue. It sounds like they're arguing over phones. I haven't seen where he's actually put his hands on her. I just looked at her wrist, you know, if he was grabbing on her and it was like 30 minutes ago. Surely you would see something. >> Yeah. And without physical evidence or video evidence. >> I mean, there's testimonials. And I mean, no doubt the relationship is toxic. He's in his 40s. >> She's young. He knew what he was doing. Like, no doubt for some emotional manipulation, probably some daddy issues. She latched on to an older man and she's at to his advantage. But it's up to her to break that cycle, break free. >> And she's leaving. I mean, she flagged me down when I was on my way to the call. >> Yeah, we can at least get her her and her baby safe at the McDonald's at then we'll go make contact with him. >> I'm going to give you and your child a ride down to the McDonald's. Now, if I give you a ride down to the McDonald's, is that where you're going to stay? That way we can go and make contact with this gentleman? >> Yes. I'm going to stay there until my mom comes so I can pick up my stuff and go. I've had to let them. >> Thank you so much. >> You're welcome. >> Mom is going for >> I'm going to actually give her a call once I reach you. >> Uh-huh. I really appreciate it. I don't do I have think I can drunk right now. >> What's the baby's name? >> Ariana. >> What transpired for y'all to start arguing? >> Okay. So, he norm he works for lifts and he normally will work throughout the day. I am like a mommy all the way. I have a If you want to write down my channel and my Instagram, you will see. I do stuff for his not only his kids, but my daughter. We do sign language, all that stuff. I am like a mom at heart, right? I love doing stuff with my kids. I have a whole channel dedicated for to me being a stay-at-home mom. Yesterday, he was going to go to work. He was going to transition to go tonight because during the day, those kids don't listen. They live in New York and they come back from here in Georgia. But those kids call me stupid bees. They run around and I'm pregnant. I can't handle that stress. So, we made an agreement with his dad that when they go to sleep, we'll go ahead. He'll go ahead and go to work from 12:00 to 8:00 during the night. And I've said I feel comfortable with that because they'll be sleep. They won't be in front around. You said you made a a deal with his dad. >> With his dad and him that I will watch them. >> Who is his dad? >> His dad is Michael Warden. His basically her grandpa. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I made an agreement with him saying that I'll watch them during the night time when they go clean because during the day they live in New York. Their mom doesn't watch them since a bad situation. >> How long have they been here? >> Probably since June 26th. We went out and got them. And I have videos of that on my channel and my page as well. So I agreed to that. So it was well prompting. And I said, I told the girls, "It's okay if you turn off before you have to go to bed so your dad can go to work." Cuz he was waiting for them to go to work. And he said, "By me doing that, I'm tormenting them." I said, "It's going to be easier for me and you go to bed around a reasonable hour and then it's summertime." I said, "I understand it's the summer time and want to have fun, but it's literally 12 at night because >> How old are the kids?" >> So, the oldest girl is, I think, 12 or 13. There's another boy who's 11. Another girl who's nine, and then I think the youngest boy who has autism is eight. But mentally he is like a three-year-old now. So I said I think I said can you guys turn off the TV to go to bed so your dad can go to work and they had a tablet and I took the tablet from them and he said I'm tormenting them at night. I said it just be an easier transition for me and for you if they go to bed at a reasonable hour so you can go out to work and I can keep my eye open for them and while they're asleep cuz when they're up they run around. They don't really listen too well. So then he got mad at me and said I'm tormenting them at night for doing that. And I contacted his dad and I told him what's going on. I said, "I did not agree to this anymore cuz he's not making it easier for me." I started to record him cuz he would come in the room and say, "You're tormenting them. They don't like you. That's why they don't listen to you." This that and the third. And then after that, he grabbed my phone and I had to go in the girls' room. The girls was in the boys room. And then that's when he got on top of me. Took my phone and trampled me. I could not breathe. I was >> What do you mean trampled you? >> I'm on the bed with my phone right here. He's on top of me holding me down to where I cannot move. >> What do you mean on top of you? On top of you? How? Like it's if this is me, he's literally putting all his weight on top of me trying to grab me pulling and maneuvering. >> How was he positioned? Like was he >> like this on top of me putting all his weight on me? >> He was down on his knees. He was standing up. He was laying on you. >> Laying on me. >> Where was his knees? >> His knees was off the bed like he was on me pulling like this on me and I was screaming for help. >> So he was kind of laying over you while standing up. >> I could not move. And then afterwards, I was trying to grab his shirt so he would get off me and I pushed him off of me. Then he grabbed me and I literally >> The situation shifted when they spoke with a man involved. Contrary to the earlier account, he presented information and images that suggested additional context to the story. >> That's over. >> How can I help today? >> Get this document because I live here with my my daughter's mom, my youngest daughter's mom. I have my four other kids visiting me for the summer. >> Mhm. And I don't know, she's got she's gotten real upset. I was in the room trying to stay away from her with my kids keeping the other four kids away from her. She jimmyed the door, opened the door, came shouting about she needs a phone, this and that and and then strikes me with a with a with a with a with a metal Lysol can. >> Okay. Who is who is she? Who are you referring to? >> My daughter's mom. >> Okay. Yeah, >> she had a child with with me and we trying to stay away from her and she somehow me the lot while we were sleeping and woke up and woke up to to her going off in the room. I'm trying to tell her to leave. Just get out and trying to you're trying to be causing this disturbance in front of my children and she just >> All right. First off, do you need an ambulance? >> I can't. I don't even need I I'll address it myself because >> You sure? >> Yeah. Because I have four kids here. I don't have anyone. And I was relying >> Well, the ambulance is going to come here and just check you out. >> Yeah. >> So, you guys were in that room for the door lock. >> Yes. >> And her and the little little one were in the master bedroom. And what were you guys arguing about? >> No. What is her problem? She just she just been she's not the first time she's gotten physical with me. She's gotten physical with me and and and you know, like because she she she's pregnant and I I don't want you know what I mean? I don't want my >> So, you have to have kind of an idea what the argument was about, right? If you guys were arguing all night, >> she she argues about I think she she's going through some type of psychological issue. It was, "Oh, give me a phone. Give me my phone." Cuz I was recording I was recording her, you know, just ask me crazy. She wants to get my phone. >> You have those videos. >> She's saying that the kids don't respect her and this and that. And I'm like, they're not your children. Like, you know what I mean? Like, they just they have they respect their mom. They just like, you have to It was just I don't even know what to to It was just >> Okay. So, so when did this occur? This This morning, >> this morning like she woke up when I woke up to her in the room. >> Okay. He's got a laceration to his left eyebrow area and run down his face and there's dried. So, it's obviously a a recent re. We do have the visible in, but I'm just trying to figure out how we got it. Is his version correct? Is it a defense wound from her where he was attacking her? So, I'm trying to interview him and see what kind of video he's got to substantiate whatever he's saying. Now, is that her phone or your phone? >> It's my phone. She's been trying to get my phone from me to to try to erase it, but I don't know. She She grabbed it and now it's not even going working anymore. >> Screen on. >> So, you have three phones total. >> Yeah. I mean, they turn them off. >> And she has four phones total, correct? >> Who? Your girlfriend, right? That's the other party we're talking about. She has four phones total, correct? >> How many total does she have? >> One. >> Just one. That's good. It's not. >> He has his own. >> Okay. So, you don't have any other phones of hers? No. >> Okay. So, did that laceration occur before or after her video of you in the master bedroom this morning? It's off of her while she's still laying in bed. >> When she came into the room. >> Yeah. When she snapped something and then you was like, "Want to get on vac?" And she said, "Give me my stuff." And then she started hitting me with your face. And then she was telling me to shut up your stuff. Yeah, additionally you >> Well, witnesses are great and and we appreciate witness testimony, but I need to hear from you because you're the victim, right? You were actual party to it, right? So, you should be able to tell me when that occurred. >> It occurred this morning. >> Before or after you were in the bedroom cuz she's got a video that we watched. She's laying in the bed and you're in there and you guys are going back and forth verbally about phones and pin numbers and all that. Did that occur before or after that? So, you were already up because previously you stated that she came in the bed. She came in through the locked door in the bedroom you guys were in. [ __ ] you. >> She woke. Yeah, she woke herself. >> So that should have been visible on the video that she showed us because her video would have been after what you're saying cuz right if you didn't see her this morning until she came in your room initially, right? Yes. >> If that's the fact, then how can you be in her room talking to her if you haven't seen her yet? Because you should still be in your room behind a locked door. Right. Oh, she came she came in, grabbed grabbed my phone trying to trying to get my footage. >> All right. >> And then I grabbed my phone back cuz I wanted to to give them to record. I told them cuz they have the code to it to try to record, but it wasn't it wasn't it was doing this. It couldn't open. >> Okay. >> So, but when we got the phone back, I was like, she was in there. Oh, you need to this and you need to that. >> So, you're saying at that point both of she left your bedroom, went back to the master, and then you followed her back in there, >> right? And I'm not trying to put words in your mouth. I'm just trying to get a clear picture because it's convoluted right now. >> Yeah, because she she kind of gave me a concussion. So, it's like I don't even I don't I'm trying to >> Well, let's go inside and show me where the can is. >> So, it's right here. >> Find it. >> Things became clearer when officers checked inside the apartment. >> On top of the bag right here. It was right here, Dad. >> So, you guys were in here? >> Yeah. >> She brought this in here with her or was this [snorts] already in here? >> It was already in here. >> So, she just picked it up. Still asleep. >> Yeah, he's still the whole thing. He has developmental delays. >> I got you. >> So that cut to his eye happened when >> when I left. >> We're going to have to load up and ride over to the house. That way we can figure out what's going on because the stories are separate. >> Did you mention anything to her about the Lysol can yet? >> No. She was saying that >> Let's keep that in our back pocket for now. >> She's just saying it was her nail. >> There's a dent in it right there. >> Any kind of looks like maybe like she down. >> Any kind of flesh tearing wound is going to be kind of jagged and a little bit deeper. A nail is gonna be real precise like a scalpel. Yeah. >> Generally a nail even if somebody >> ain't gonna do that. >> No, that's deep, right? >> Yeah. >> Is it still in the person's hand or was it thrown at you? >> All right. Look up at me. >> Look at my nose. >> Open. >> All right. Look real quick. >> I should recheck your eyes. >> No, you got to look, huh? >> You're on blood thinners, are you? You lose consciousness, blackout or anything? >> Saw stars. >> You saw stars. Got days a little bit. Yeah. >> Okay. Delox or something like that. Anywhere else or is that your only >> All right, baby. Do you want to go to the hospital? Cuz to be honest, the only thing that they're going to do, this isn't a candidate for sutures or staples. >> They're going to glue it. >> They'll just glue it. >> You want to take a picture of your phone so you can take a look at it? >> Yeah, I did. >> You did? Okay. I'm saying now that we cleaned it up so you a good look at it. >> So, in in your medical opinion, would you describe that as a clean laceration or a jagged laceration? >> Clean. He says it's a more. >> Hey mom, I just want to let you know if anything happens, I want you to come pick up Ariana. Michael trampled me to where I had to defend myself and I cut him and he called the cops. >> Then the person who had allowed a child to witness ongoing adult conflict began expressing concern for the child's safety. That concern is understandable, but it should become a reason for change rather than an excuse for giving unclear or inconsistent information during the process. >> I was on my way to walk to the McDonald's. I had to defend myself. So I did push him and he did bump his head. He's EMS is here and the police is here. If anything happens to me, I want you to have custody of Ariana. I do not want him in custody of Ari. If nothing happens, if I do not get locked up for self-defense. I do want to go to they have a domestic place and it's kind of far and I was wondering if I could put if you have like a empty room or garage to grab my stuff. It's like a program. I did cut him really deep with my nails. I had to defend myself. >> Okay, I'm going to call dad. I'm head I'm headed over. >> Okay. What I'm going to need from you is a witness statement. >> My mom is on the way. Whatever happens, I do want her to have custody of my daughter. >> That's going to be between y'all. >> I just want to apologize. I'm person. I'm not a violent person. >> Okay. >> Hi, this is Autumn Gogggins from last night. I have made a police report and I'm looking for I called last night. I'm in a DV situation. They said they have space for me and my one-year-old. Thank you so much. Trying to leave to my safe place in Thongs. He said that he'll get me my phone and my keys to my vehicle in the morning. I begged him to give me my phone and key so I could go. He refused. I got up where he was laying to look for it. He grabs and hauls and pulls me, basically resting me to where I have to defend myself. I push him off of me and my nail cuts him on his eyebrow. I walked out while he called the cops. >> I have a witness statement right here. And what I need you to do is fill this out as detailed as you can. >> Cuz I have been with females that because you try to keep an integrity and not them, it seems like it's it's like someone has to somebody. >> Mhm. >> And that's not fair. I don't put my hands on you. You put your hands on me. >> I mean, all the elements that we need in there. So >> then she walked out with my daughter. So where was the baby sleeping at? >> I wonder if he means got the daughter and walked out of the house. Sometimes people time jump, right? >> You done with it? >> So now we have to determine in cases like this, is that a legitimate defensive wound where she's trying to protect herself or get away or is it an an offensive wound? >> I think that's an offensive wound cuz if he was grabbing on her and jerking on her like she said he was. She has no marks. >> So um where did the Lysol can come into play at? >> I did not touch the Lysol cam. >> So where were you guys when you state that you gave him the defensive wood? >> It was in the boy's room in the bathroom. I'm him and she is you. Tell me what happened. >> I was asking for my phone. >> Okay. So, you're asking for the phone. Yeah. >> Okay. >> And he's restraining me to where >> I'm restraining you how? >> Uh grabbing me, pulling me left and right. So, I have to leave the room. >> Okay. And in what way? Wrist, forearm, should >> wrist, arm, basically everywhere. I'm looking for my phone and the room. He's forcing me out of the room. So, I push him >> and I guess my nails him or he bumped his head. >> Where did you push him? >> On his shoulders. The night prior when you guys went to bed, you and the little one were asleep in the master bedroom. >> Yes, I was in the master bedroom. >> And he and the other children were in the back left bedroom. Yes. Okay. So, was the door locked to his room? The bedroom they were in? Yes. >> No, it was open. >> Okay. So, you got up and went in there? >> Yes. Cuz I was asking for my phone before I leave. He said I would get it before I leave. >> Okay. You didn't have to pick the lock at all. The door was open. >> No, it was open >> from that point. Did Did an argument ensue? >> Yes. I grabbed his other purple phone cuz he said he would give me my phone. Eventually, he grabbed the phone and I went back into the room. I said, "Go give me my phone and my keys. I'm leaving right now." He's trying to close the door. I think he put a phone in there. I don't know where my phone or my keys or that 2020 Pacifica. He's restraining me. Keep trying to keep me away from the door, holding my arms. So, I pushed him. >> Okay. Now, restraining you. Is he restraining you from your freedom of movement or is he restraining you because he's trying to get you out of the room? >> And he was trying to get me out of the room. I believe my phone is in there. My keys was in there. >> All that is not articulated in your written witness statement. When we ask you to write in detail what occurred, that's not what you put. That's not consistent with your verbal testimony. Injuries are also inconsistent with you pushing him on the shoulder and somehow your hand slipping all the way up to his left brow, slicing him with a nail. I've been doing this many, many, many, many years. Actually, longer than you've been alive. About the same time as you've been alive. I've never seen a fingernail cause a laceration that deep. >> Cuz the door is right here. I think he bumped it because he was I pushed him pretty hard often. But you told us with the exception of this time and one utterance probably about 30 seconds before this. Every other time you stated it was with your nail. >> Yes. >> So was it the >> It's either my nail or I pushed him and he hit his head right there. >> There's blood on the door jam, but there is a dented Lysol can next to the bed in the closed hamper where he was laying. >> I did not touch the Lysol can. I was sitting down. >> That is inconent with a fingernail scratch or even pushing somebody to where their head on the door jam. And I know he's not a great big guy, but there's no way that people of your size can generate the amount of force on a thrust to cause somebody to bang their head on a wall and lacerate it almost to the bone. >> The kids are lying to him. They always >> We didn't ask the children. >> We haven't spoke to the kids. >> We asked him. >> You can ask them. >> What? You just said the kids are lying and now you're saying ask them. Why would we ask liars? >> You can ask the kids what happened. >> But why would we? You just said they're liars. >> I know, but Josiah was telling the truth yesterday that I said that was he on top of who? >> Who? Josiah is the oldest with the braids in her hair. She's the only one who said yes. The other two were there. They said they don't know. >> But that was it. We're talking about an incident that happened yesterday with them. Right. We We need to focus on why we're here now. And I'm going to trust 23 years of patrol experience before I'm going to trust an 11-year-old. Right. >> My mom is coming with my dad so I can collect my furniture as well. >> All right. Miss Gogggins. >> In the end, though not by choice, she had to leave the child under appropriate supervision until a relative could take over care. >> As it stands right now, you are going to be under arrest. Do you want to leave the baby with your dad with the dad until the parents your parents get here? >> Yeah, I do not want him in custody >> because we can't wait an hour. So, here are your options. You're either going to have to leave the baby with dad until your parents get here or we're going to have to call the Department of Family Children's Services. >> I'm going to call my mom and let her know to pick up Ariana and I will be under arrest. >> So, you're going to leave the baby here and they can pick the child up from him? >> Yes. And what am I being arrested for? >> So, it's battery and the children's second degree four counts cuz it happened in front of the children. They're leaving Ari here with Michael. I don't have any other choice. >> Should I just pick him up and pick her up for Michael? >> Yeah. And she also has pampers and diapers here. >> I don't trust him. [laughter] My baby, she's breastfed. I'm pregnant. I had to bed myself. My parents can tell you what type of man he is. >> I can only go off of what the scene says today. That's all I can go off of is the evidence that I have today. >> Let John in. >> I understand. And your mom's going to come and she's on her way to come and get him >> an hour. Anything could happen. He lets those kids. >> If the baby comes with you, where do I go? >> No, no, no. The the baby's not coming with us. We're We are doing everything in our power to avoid having to do that. Yeah. Yeah. We We want the baby to stay with family. We don't want to get defects involved. >> I love you, Ariana. Can you please hurry? I do not trust him around my daughter. They could drug test. He's been smoking and drinking all night. I don't know if he's going to do something to her. Um, also he has my other purple iPhone, but I have to >> get your phone with it with the evidence on it. They should want that. >> I have to go now. I don't want to make them angry. >> Okay. >> Whatever you're going to leave, just leave in the diaper bag and your mom can retrieve it when she picks up the baby. >> Where is she? >> She's right here. >> Can I look at [laughter] her one more time? >> All right. Step down here. Let me explain to you what's going on. All right. Right now, she's being placed under arrest and taken to jail for battery. Please just let it. So in things like this, you know, unfortunately the state steps in. You're not the one pressing charges. The state is because it's family. She's going to leave the baby here and then mom is coming down to pick up the baby in the diaper bag and everything. So because the child was born out of wedlock and you haven't been legitimized, >> about to do that. >> So you have under Georgia law, >> you have no parental rights. Grandparents in the state of Georgia have no grandparent or parental rights. So neither one of you in a legal standpoint have any rights to have the child right now exclusively. However, we want what's best for the baby, right? And obviously, you love her, grandparents love her. Mom said that she wanted her to go with her mom. So, you know, when she comes down here to get her, you know, hopefully you guys can agree on that and, you know, just just let her go cuz otherwise, unfortunately, we'd have to call defects and nobody wants to get them involved. >> No, no, no. >> It's not in the best interest of that baby. You have a good day. Stay safe. Bye, guys. >> Go ahead and do me a favor and step out and put your hands behind your back. I'm going to pat you down real quick. Go ahead and have a seat. Breathe through your nose and out your mouth. >> I'm going to ask you not to make yourself vomit in my car. Please, ma'am. >> I'm not I really don't feel good. >> Okay. >> I really am not trying to vandalize your car. >> I am very Okay, give me one second. Okay, [music] hang on. >> The mother was charged with battery, battery, and cruelty to children. Under Georgia law, she could face between three and five years in prison along with fines ranging from $3,000 to $7,000. Sometimes, amid intense adult emotions, what is most easily overlooked is the quiet experience of the children watching, and at times, one thoughtful choice in a difficult moment can help preserve a child's childhood. Some disagreements between adults echo beyond raised voices. They leave worry etched into a child's memory. He on top of me and my daughter on top of him and all the other kids just start joining in trying to get him off of me. >> On September 15th, [music] 2025, police received a call from a woman reporting that a man had entered her home without permission. The situation quickly grew tense [music] involving disputes about housing, finances, and use of a vehicle. Unfortunately, the children were also drawn into the conflict. >> Hey, baby. Hey, what's going on, sweetie? What's going on? This man I don't know he gone but he probably seen you pull up but the like but the call come back to my mama name my child phone that he got I can't show it to you right now cuz he don't when he in the middle of him trying to take my phone from me from calling y'all he you see it locked >> so I don't know how to get it off of there >> but I got video he just came you see my daughter right there on the balcony he just came through the window right there with the black dress on >> okay >> you see how my curtain he just came through my window and that how we end up fighting over the phone. >> Okay. But she still has the phone or >> he has the phone. >> Okay. >> And he been riding around. It's a Volvo. >> What color? >> I think it's like a greenish. >> Okay. >> It's like a greenish color, but it make it make a lot of noise. >> Okay. >> It make a lot of noise. He just left. He probably don't dip because he seen you. >> He was running around. >> He probably going to be casing back and forth because like I said, he he just been knocking on my door, banging on my door. He think I'm mad because he wanted to go with his cousin. But like I said, you and my mom had agreement about the car. And what I told him is you can go sleep in the car >> cuz you're not benefiting me. My bill be paid. >> And he mad because I let my auntie they homeless. So they was sleeping on the street and I let them come stay with me. So he mad because they gave me $100 to put on to go on my life as they should, right? >> He get mad. See all this no phone while my children were present. But at the same time, I'm trying to tell him, you not going to come in here and try to tell me what to do with my play. >> Mhm. >> Cuz you just here for the moment anyway. Cuz like I told him, you got to give till they knock them down and I move over there. You got to give to find you somewhere to go. But he don't want to do his part. >> So it time for him to go. If I got to do 30-day notice, all that, I will. But I need him gone. >> So he has been in the house or he's been in the car. >> No, he been he been in my house. But what I'm saying is I done told him ample times. Like I said, if I he that what he wanted to do, bump my phone up so I couldn't show y'all what went on cuz I recorded him coming through my apartment window >> multiple times. And like I said, he still refused to leave. I'm not going to let you leave with my child phone. That one thing I paid for that phone. You not just going to walk off with my child phone? >> Yes. Okay. So with the kids then >> the kids was in the house. >> Yeah. If you could go into detail like everything >> like I said, he came through the window and I was trying to tell him to get away from my window. I kept telling him, "Get away from my window. get away from my window. And I said, "You come through, come through my window. I got something for you." And that's when I started calling y'all. He knew that I was calling y'all cuz it's not the first time. He knew that I was calling y'all. He always hindered me from calling y'all. So me and me and him touching over the phone. I'm pretty sure y'all going to hear that. I'm trying to lay on the phone. I'm screaming. So come to 125. Come to 125 or something like that. I was saying and my daughter at the same time, she back >> because he was on top of me. So my children, they went in defense mode and were helping their mom. So they were jumping on top of him. My son, my baby son started crying. The other kids in the house, like I said, they got two kids, too. So, they're who at the house with them right now. >> Okay. >> But he was on top of you. That's what I'm asking. You can go into detail about what all he was doing, where his hand placement was. >> I got a mattress. I got a mattress cuz like I said, I got them staying with me. So, I gave them my boys room. So, I brought two of my boys match into the living room so they can sleep on. And so, the match is still in there. So, as I'm holding the phone, you know, trying to talk to y'all, I got the phone up under me so he won't take the phone from me. So, I'm yelling in the phone, "Come to 125. Come to 125." But at the same time, he on top of me and my daughter on top of him and all the other kids just start joining in. Mhm. >> Trying to get him up off me. >> Okay. Is it okay if I take a look at you everywhere? >> Yeah, it's okay. >> Uh-oh. With my flashlight, right? Make sure it's staying tight. Okay. So, you showed me the little scrape right here. Okay. >> Yeah, that's him trying to scrub to get the phone from me. >> This right here on your chest. >> Oh, I ain't even know I had nothing on my chest. >> Okay. >> I just want his stuff out my house. I I everything. Everything. >> Okay. >> Cuz I I can't deal with it. Can't deal with it. >> Notably, this was not the first conflict between the two. The situation had repeated several [music] times before. a sign that the relationship was caught in an unhealthy and unstable cycle. >> I know you spoke with her. What's going on? >> Okay. Well, me and my boyfriend, but I don't told him that he needed he got him he got within a year to find him somewhere to go because it's not working out between us. So, I just been letting him stay with me because he ain't got no other stuff really. But my mom gave him the car for two weeks. So, I guess he don't went over there and talked to my mom about what going on with us and everything. And she um I guess she told him she can keep the car for two weeks. But this came from my auntie. My auntie just told me it. But he came and asked me for the keys and I said, "Okay." I gave him the keys, but I told him, "Let me get me and my kids important documents out of there." Like our birth certificate, social security card, all that, my lease and stuff in there. So I told him, "Let me get my lease and stuff about the car." I ain't tell him why. I just said I need to get my stuff up out of there first before I before I give you the keys. So I took my house keys and stuff up off there, gave him the key, and I went back in the house. So he come banging on door, banging on door, talking, let me in. Let me in. I said, "I thought you said you going to go to your cousin house. You're not coming back in here." Didn't I just tell you you going to have to find you somewhere else to go? >> Mhm. So he got bang on, bang on door. So he climbed on backy and lit up my window and I'm telling him let my window down. >> You're not coming back up here. >> Right. >> Okay. So they out there trying to tell him to get away from apartment. Get away from apartment. He climb on through there. Once he realized I'm calling out, >> he climb on through there. So in the midst of that after he be chasing on the phone. So I end up diving on the um diving on my kids um mattress that's in the room and I end up laying on the phone so he couldn't get the phone from me. So that why I got all and stuff on me cuz he he was trying to take the phone from me. Then my daughter end up jumping on his back and all the children just start jumping on him trying to get him off me. >> Right. >> So that's really all that happened after and then I came outside and I asked somebody to use their phone cuz he going to mess up my phone. I can't even unlock it now. >> Okay. Where did he go? >> I don't know. Me and my mom car. >> Oh, so he did you see him get in the car and leave? Yeah, he just wor She just seen him. >> Okay. >> She just seen him. >> All right. And how long together? >> This is not the first time. >> How long have you guys been together? >> A year. >> And how often would you say this happens? >> Every other week. And that's why I say it getting old, getting tired. I know. >> Every other week. How many of those would you say physical? >> Every time. >> Okay. >> Cuz he need to he don't know how to just leave and like it's a different when you get mad. Like I get mad and walk away. You see how I got mad, walked away. You see I still went the other way. You pull up in the car. You all damn this side. You can rewind the camera back. Get mad all damn here. Come all the way in. You still trying to talk to me. I go the other direction. You still trying to talk to me. >> Okay. >> Like I try to avoid the situation cuz I know I get physical. But you ain't going to let you put your hands on me. This not going to be a domestic violence cuz I will go to I will go to jail for domestic. My my daughter got um auntie died for like that and I refuse to let that happen to me. That why I say I'm sorry I'm being stupid. >> You can put your hands down. You're fine. Yeah, they just they just I'm I'm just over it. I'm just over it. Right. >> No, that my mama car. But like I said, do what you got to do with the car. Call my mom. Tell my mom come get it. I don't want it cuz that's all that go there too. My mama car. >> By any chance, do you know the tag for the car or not? >> No, I don't. Would you mind us going to the house and taking a look around and also us talking to your kids to get them to tell us? Okay. You'll take us over there, please. >> Yeah. Come on. >> And do you need EMS? Anything? Okay. >> Go get our key. >> Go get our key, >> kids. We better go. You better go cuz I ain't coming. police. >> To clarify the information from both sides, officers went to the apartment and checked the situation inside in accordance with procedure. >> I do come in. Okay. >> Yeah. Y'all come in. >> This my old pusher. Hi, Apple. >> It was Brandon. >> Huh? >> Brandon. >> Brandon. >> Yeah. >> What about Brandon? >> Hey. [screaming] >> Uhuh. Don't Don't touch that now. >> You see my turn? >> Okay. Look, >> she going to talk to y'all. I'm going leave the room. >> Yeah, she going to talk to y'all. I'm going leave the room. >> Okay. >> That's okay. >> He smoked out the window. No, he jumped in the window. He he caught on. He opened the window. He and he came and he came and he fell right here. He got on top of her bit him and he got and he wouldn't pass out like this. >> And then my mama said and my mama said >> and at any time where this is going on did anyone feel scared? No. Okay. >> Did anyone feel scared or anything? >> I didn't I didn't scared because >> Yeah. I just really want I really need her phone back tonight though. >> And it's her phone. >> It's her phone. >> Okay. >> It's a 13. >> Yeah. >> iPhone 13. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Do y Can I get your notepad really quick? >> I want that. >> If he comes back, if you hear from him or anything of that nature. Okay. text, call if your phone starts back working to where you're able to send anything over. Um, here I'll give you a email and a contact for you to send if you're able. >> The man was charged with battery, theft by taking, criminal trespass, [music] and thirdderee cruelty to children. Under Georgia law, he could face a total sentence of up to 6 years in prison. When a relationship becomes unsafe [music] and shows signs of causing damage, seeking support from family, the community, or appropriate services is not a sign of weakness. It is a way to protect yourself and your children. Florida concludes today's episode with a striking case. A mother accused of concealing something unusual using her child's clothing. >> If you just put something in him, he's going to be taken away from you. Did you or did you not? >> No. >> You didn't put anything in his pants. On June 6th, 2023 [music] in Santa Rosa County, a traffic stop over a license plate quickly escalated when officers noticed unusual behavior from the mother. They approached to check both parents in the vehicle. >> How's it going? >> Hey. >> Hey, Mr. Smith. This is Stephen. >> Who? >> Stephen. >> Okay. >> A couple times. >> Okay. You don't have a tag on your trailer, >> but there is a tag. >> There is one for you. >> If you put in Jerry William Howard the second, >> I don't have a crystal ball. And if there's no tag on them, I can't make heads or tails of it. So there's not a tag on the vehic on the trailer at all. >> You got your license on you? >> You hurt your hand? You ain't. You're able to eat though? >> Yeah, but I can like this. But >> you got your driver's license. >> You don't have a driver's license? All right. Step out for us. >> Can you roll this window down? Just step back here for me. So whose vehicle is this? Uh where you guys coming from? >> We're coming from Walmart. She had to meet her mama there to get some money and we just stopping here to get some license. The water's pretty cool. >> Vehicle belongs to her. >> Trailer belongs to her and her dad. But the registration >> is there anything illegal in the vehicle? Any illegal? Anything like that? >> Just the kids. >> There's kids in there. >> Yes, sir. >> I didn't see any kids. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Do you have a show? >> They're just documenting us what we do. That's all. And you got that many suspensions? >> His name uh pulled me over like a month and a half ago and he said I didn't have no habitual or nothing on it. >> No, I didn't say you had habitual. that many suspensions. You don't you don't have a license at all. You can't drive, dude. >> You're going to go to jail. >> I know. >> You know, and because of all the past arrests you've had, sir. >> How many times you been arrested for driving? >> Driving? >> Yeah. Just once. >> This would be number ago. >> Okay. Well, if you got arrested today, it' be number two. Your third one's a felony. >> It's still a felony. >> Yeah. Stop doing that. >> No. No. Cuz you got a DUI. >> Yeah. >> You got Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. 2007. I forgot I did have to uh I wasn't arrested for that. >> But your girl's got a valid license. >> I know. She hurt her hand and I was stupid for driving. >> She's going to have to drive. Just hold tight a minute. Okay. >> She was asked to step out for a vehicle search. >> She's got a valid license. And of course, he doesn't he's not habitual anything. He's got one prior for drive, but uh there's no reason why she can't drive. >> There was something when I walked up there and she reached underneath the seat for something. 99 is on his way. How many how many youngies is in the car? >> Got two. >> Okay. Y would step out. >> But yeah. Hey, can she am I able to use the ball? >> When we get done, you step over here, buddy. Hey, she's sitting on the pipe. >> Yeah, I knew she put something under there. >> Sorry. It's really really dirty. I don't have a vacuum because right now like we're working on getting power on our property. You got a medical card? >> Um, >> yes or no? >> Yeah. Okay. >> I I ain't worried about I'm going to see if they'll come up here for a minute. >> Yeah. >> Okay, you're good. You don't have anything on your bra, anything like that. Hey, I know y'all don't have or anything. Y'all able to kind of stand there and just watch? That's a little bit so we can speed this up by good. >> Oh, no. That's the balloon. Okay, that's the one he's blowing up. >> During the inspection, police discovered an object that tested positive for an unidentified substance, raising concerns about [music] the welfare of the children present. >> Ain't nothing in the vehicle that's going to get you in trouble today. >> I guess you guys have a bit She was hiding something. It was spot full. You ever need a spare tooth? >> No. >> That's gross. Residue in that straw. >> I don't know, but it's worth checking for sure. >> She was hiding back what she was doing. I walked. She I scared her. She didn't see me standing where I was at. I asked her if she had anything on her and she kind of looked away. So, >> you want to walk back here real quick? Yep. Bring your popcorn. >> I'm just going to go in front of this gold car. I'm super easygoing. Okay. >> I know. As long as you're honest with me, I can work with you. If you lie to me, there ain't nothing I can do for you. Okay? With that being said, there is a female coming out here. Do you have anything on you that's going to get you in trouble? You don't have anything in your bra, nothing in your pants? >> No. >> She's going to come out here and check. >> Okay. >> So, I just didn't want you to lie and >> to charge. Okay. >> All right. I'm going hang out back up here. >> Yeah. >> Little girl wants to go to bed. >> Mama wants to let them go in there by themselves. If they can go in there by themselves. No, we can't let you. >> Okay. Well, just hang tight for just a minute. I'll go. >> I can't let you go in there right now. >> You grab this stuff. I'm going to go test that straw. >> 5125. >> I know who you are. You ain't made good choices, have you? >> No, you're not. No, you're not. If you got it in you is not working on your life except making it worse. Don't kid yourself. We're not trying to be mean or disrespectful, but we wouldn't be in this situation if you were driving and if you had a tag on a vehicle and you didn't have >> year for a year and no one spoke with me about and I gave you the name >> that name went in this year, not out this one cuz cuz I was dealing with other things. Okay, >> don't mind. >> Tension peaked when officers saw the [music] mother attempting to conceal the item near her child, prompting them to act immediately to ensure everyone's safety. >> Pause it. J, you mind? I think she's got it on her. She uh she has actually spent the night in my house. She was high school friends with my daughter and she looks 1 million times different now than what she did then. And she's telling me, she said, "Mr. Smith, you know who?" I said, "I know exactly who you are." I said, "You're not making good choices, are you?" "I'm trying." I said, "No, you're not. You got illegal in the vehicle you that's not making good choices with your kids." When I told her that there was a female coming that she wanted to start, oh, I got to go to the bathroom. I need to take the engine blah blah. So, she she wanted to leave and go to the bathroom. When I asked her if she had anything on her, she kind of not looking right. She's reaching her pocket right now or she's reaching in his pocket. She's reaching in her waistband. >> What did you just do? Huh? >> Nope. We're not playing that. Stand up. >> Stand up, >> ma'am. Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Check his back and his waistband. >> If you just put something in him, he's going to be taken away from you. Did you or did you not? >> No. >> You didn't put anything in his pants. >> This coin purse, honey, I got to get this out. Okay. >> Are you kidding me? >> Really? >> Are you me? Do not reach up. >> Turn around. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. I didn't ask you. I told you to put your hands behind your back. Philip, take her over there, please. He just put that in his pants. >> I'm sorry. >> Okay, baby. Relax. It's okay. >> Okay. Hey, listen. Stop. Stop. Stop. Hey, listen. Do you have anything else on you? >> No. >> Okay. Listen. Face the car. Okay. >> I got to search. I need nothing that's going to poke or stick me, right? >> At the same time, officer stayed calm to reassure the children and worked with the father. >> Hey, sweet. Hey, sit right here for me. What's your name? Hey, just calm down, baby. This ain't your fault talking to her. Calm down for me. Okay. Stop talking. The whole coercion of telling her what to say was right there just a second ago. That's what I said. I >> You can't come out of your mouth. No, you said if they happen to ask and then you told her what to say. That's cor. And you want to know why there's a test kit on the hood? Because the straw that was in your seat tested positive formings. That's why. So you're probably going to jail, too. I mean, if they're stuffing kids stuff down kids pants. >> Not there. So I told him not to be a >> No, the girl just sitting there for >> Yeah. I cannot believe she was watching me. As soon as you pulled up, she I watched her put it in the back of his pants. What the >> She pulled it out of her pants and put it in his pants. I hate when people involve like that, man. I hate I hate I got an attitude with, but that really pisses me off when you start diving off into kids with stuff like that. That's That's ridiculous. >> I'm sorry, sir. >> Well, she Why you going to get her out of jail? >> Because she's my mother. You know, I got to >> Yeah. And you see what she's >> I'm sorry. >> Legal procedures were quickly completed before [music] both parents were taken to the station. >> Can I call her to come and get us? >> You can call her here. >> Can I call her to come and get us? >> Absolutely. I watched her. Soon as Jesse pulled up, I watched you want to give her back. She took it out of her pants and put it in his pants. What would you do? >> I charged her with child. Well, I don't have gloves on. You want to test this real quick? I could not believe. Dude, I got goosebumps that pissed me off so bad. >> Towards the bed. Is it in here? >> Yeah, it's it was in the front of her pants and she took it out. I walked over there and she tensed under a blue bag of dirt. >> Yes, I've seen it. >> Well, they were on a traffic stop, but um mom had put something I honestly I'm not really sure what all that entails, but yeah, that's what it's kind of looking like. Um, but if you want to come up here and we can talk with you and then we can get them sorted out. Okay. Okay. Yes, ma'am. I appreciate it. >> Okay. Here you go. >> She She's on her way, honey. >> When your grandma gets here, we'll just talk to her and let her know everything that's going on and then she can take you. Okay. >> No darker than that. He's going to >> Yes. For what? For the possession of that. >> I didn't have that. I didn't know that was there. I was just >> Have a seat. I I'll be honest and everything's honest. >> Can the kids have my money, please? We'll talk about that. Just Just have a seat full of >> What was uh big old thing? Probably the darkest test kit I've ever seen. >> Officer Smith, I do not >> That's a positive test. >> Well, sir, I do not. >> That was a little heart in the little box. >> Yes. >> Watch this. >> That one good. >> Yeah. Hey, that's her car. How y'all >> have seat? As soon as she says it's hers. >> Yes. Have a seat. >> Me. >> Can you turn your AC up? >> The father was charged with possession while the mother faced possession [music] and child. Under Florida law, the father could face 5 years in prison and the mother up to 10 years. Being a parent carries [music] great responsibility and sets an example for children. A thoughtless action can have serious consequences both legally and emotionally for the family. But while the previous story involved from a stranger in Illinois, the came from someone much closer, a parent who made a serious lapse in judgment. You >> remember me? >> I went back. >> I don't know when they gave you the ticket last time when you in the car. >> On December 19th, 2022, in the parking lot of a shopping center in Gernie, Illinois, a newborn was found inside a car during freezing weather, prompting an immediate police response. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and the mother showed up shortly after. Baby. >> All right. Are Are you the owner? >> Yeah. >> Is it okay that we leave the baby in the back seat? >> No, I was just running to see if I get wrapping paper and then I was going to pick up sleeping. So, >> thought it would be a good idea to leave your infant child in a car. >> I didn't think it would be a good idea. >> So, and how long have you been in the store? >> Uh, like 5 minutes, not even. >> So, I've had someone sitting out here for over 30 minutes saying that you've been here 30 minutes with a car running. >> I was not out here for 30 minutes. >> Your license? >> Yeah. >> Don't bring your baby out in the cold. I wouldn't bring your baby out in the cold in the car. >> Yeah, you can leave. >> Talk to them. >> Oh, he's >> okay. >> I need to see your license. >> I have to get my my purses on. >> Okay, let's go inside. >> I just left my >> So, >> so what did uh what did they say? >> She said that they entered the store about 12:43. Car was parked out front, baby was in the back still running. They exited shop and still there. That's when he called us. >> Well over well over 30 minutes. >> But I also ran back out. >> But again, the issue is he's leaving a brand new baby by itself in a running car. Your your doors were unlocked. Someone could have walked up, opened that front door, and drove away. >> I was right. I know, but I was watching. I ran out. >> So, what would you be able to do if someone got in your car, took your baby, ran off? >> That's an issue. >> So, it's not like I was I know, but I >> Have you ever done this before? >> One other time. >> Okay. But once I was going to get my I was just going to pay for it and like get him park the car and then pay for a fire. >> I didn't I cuz I literally was just going to park there for two seconds to get that >> meaningful things going on. I know, >> right? You're in a fire lane. You left your vehicle running which we don't allow in our village because people steal cars. Okay. Left your child unattended in the car and it sounded like you had a question if you were free to go. No, that's a crime what you what you did. Those are all criminal issues. You know, honesty is usually the best policy. And I'm being honored. >> But you said 5 minutes. That's not even close to honor. >> No, but I went back and forth. It's not like I left you in the car and just like left. >> Notably, reports indicated that this was not the first safety related [music] concern involving the same family. >> You remember me? >> I went back and forth. >> I don't know when they gave you the ticket last time when you put them in the car and I got your keys, took them out of the van, said don't do it again. >> Yes. >> But you did it again. >> I this I ran I literally ran back and forth. I was right here watching the car. >> I wasn't like in the car like I heard the name. And I knew exactly what it was and it was the exact same literally. >> Yeah. Last time you left him in the van running at Target. >> I know. But I ran in to check if they had wrapping paper. Ran back out to check on him. Called my husband, told him what wrapping paper there was. Ran back out and then I told him what, you know, like he was trying to figure out the inches of wrapping paper or whatever. And then was at >> husband or ex-husband. Last time you told me his ex-husband. >> Whatever he is. I don't know. >> You don't know. >> We kind of go back and forth. He's not my husband. We're not like married, but we've been together for since high school. >> Okay. >> You're going to be with us for a minute. >> Sometimes it's easier to call my husband. >> H. Sometimes it's easier to just call my husband. >> Where's he at right now? >> Home. >> The next developments revealed more about her marital situation and prior legal issues. >> Last time you said you were living with your mom, right? >> I go back and forth with my mom. >> It was a great lake that you were seeing. >> I just got here. So I saw the name. I recognize the name. That last time I had to carry him in. He was crying in the car. I know. I I was at Ala and then I was like, "Oh, stupid." >> The van. Where's the van? >> Oh, um getting worked on husband. Is it actual husband or divorced or separated? What is it? >> We're just not married. >> And he's he's at home. >> Yeah. >> Is your mom around still or is she? >> [snorts] >> I have his been a while. >> I don't remember. Did you say you had an open case with DCFS? >> Um I think we do. Yeah. I'm not sure. >> I talked to lady. >> Yeah. Cuz I'm pretty sure I contacted DCFS about you last time and I never got a phone call back. So I don't know if it's still pending or not. >> She came and what? >> She came to see my house. So everything fine talking. Before that, did you ever have any contact with BCFs before? >> Although the mother claimed she had been supervising her child, the risks of such actions were severe. In such conditions, infants are completely vulnerable and unable to protect themselves, >> especially the way that people are feeling. >> That's why two or three a day just in our town >> and I mean in our village, >> I don't care about that. I don't I don't think it I guess I don't think about that. So, >> well, I mean, you need to watch the news cuz >> I don't watch the news. I don't like caring about >> they present the unfortunate truth. You need to know what's going on around. >> I don't I My husband always tells me, "You live in a bubble like >> because you know what's happened is that's why there's towns that actually you get a ticket for your keys in the car and leaving it running." That's why it's cuz they steal cars. Yeah. I mean, and it's not just that, oh, they stole your car. No big deal. Like that car belongs to Ian Old. It's a rental. >> Yeah. It's a rental. >> So like that's their rental. They don't want their car stolen. You know what I mean? >> Cuz they're stolen. Then they use those vehicles for very not. And then ifies, armed robberies, shooting >> be yours and paid off, but that car is not going to be used to go to church. You know what I mean? So now they're going to do even crazier things, but the stolen, not theirs. They don't care. It's a spiral. >> I know people steal cars. I didn't realize I steal cars. >> So, real quick, I want to know what's going to happen today. ECFs will be contacted again cuz it's it's not my case. It's theirs. He's going to do it. They may have a follow up from them and you're going to get a ticket for the life of a child. Okay? You'll have a court date. You'll be able to go home. But this is the second time I've done it both times. You get in the car. You need to stop. >> I know >> someone hops in that car. some idiot kid that just ste off. >> Okay, I'm going to take that. >> And it's a discretion thing, too. Especially cuz it's so close. I mean, the next this time right now, he could take a different action. Obviously, it's Christmas. You got the baby. >> I'm the only one. >> I know. We talked last time. There's a lot of stuff going on in your life. >> Making better decisions. Last time, obviously, the retail. >> That's why I like parking. I was right here. I was kind of like running to see if they have it before I dragged him in. Freaking crazy. Whatever. >> It happens. But obviously, it it wasn't that long ago that I dealt with you. That was like I know that was >> that was different even than the steel stuff >> and that was like also him like a lot. This time I was like I made sure I was right here. I was checking. >> I have like I told you last time I got small kids too. Just can't do that. >> Instead of being taken into custody right away, the mother received a court summon and a firm warning about possible future violations. >> All righty ma'am. So I gave you a state ticket. Okay. So this is required court date January um 7th 2023 8:45 in the morning in walkgan. Okay. I wrote you for childment endangering endangering a child uh endangering a life or a child being in the cared for over 10 minutes. Okay. It's a class A misdemeanor. Okay. So if you don't go to court, there could be issues in down the line. All right. Um long story short, your doors were unlocked. Some guy, some people can just walk in and just take this car around. We've had very high motor vehicle thefts lately, especially around this time with the holiday. It's very bad and especially with a little one. >> I don't know. >> And with this being a frequent problem, this isn't your first time. >> It's just going to keep going up. Okay. I will I will be contacting DCFS as well, and I'm going to be noting this. >> So So real quick, it's a class A misdemeanor. We technically can take you out of the car, put you in handcuffs, call DCFS or your husband, come pick up this baby. I didn't say anything. >> I know. I'm You just seem nonchalant about it. >> Non about it. >> Um and I just want you to realize that we could have made you postpond. >> I know. >> And going to jail today. >> I appreciate you. >> Okay. But we're not we're not going to do that. >> Okay. You're also getting a parking ticket. Parking in the uh fire lane with us. >> Thank you. >> This happens again, better believe we're going to take you out of the car and put you in your hands. Okay. Cuz this isn't this isn't a joke to us, okay? That baby can't take care of itself. >> No. What if it started on something and you're inside shop wrapping paper? Hey, >> the mother was charged with injuring the life of a child. Although this was her second reported incident within a few months and under certain circumstances, it could have been classified as a thirdderee felony. The case was ultimately treated as a misdemeanor. She was sentenced to 2 years of supervised probation with specific conditions set by the court. This approach clearly shows that the goal of law enforcement was not to break up the family, but to protect the children and improve their caregiving environment. In a seemingly quiet neighborhood where children often play after school, a group of young girls witnessed a man acting in a disturbing manner near children. >> How do you know that he was touching his private parts? >> Cuz I think I seen it pulled down his hand. >> On July 17th, 2025, police received an emergency call about a serious incident. The girls, understandably frightened, approached the authorities and reported about a man acting inappropriately around children while they were recording a video. Despite being shaken, they courageously provided information about the man and the direction he went. >> I'm playing outside with my friends >> right now. >> Yeah. What was he wearing? >> He was wearing like he looked like he was homeless and he was wearing like basketball shirts and a black shirt. >> Basketball shorts. What color basketball shorts? >> Like I think like gray and black. >> Okay. How tall is he? Black male, white male. Which one you get? >> He's fat. He said he went around the building. >> No. Like, no. Like, this how it happened. >> Wait, wait. Before you continue, hold on, hold on, hold on. Give me a second. Where? Which way he went? >> He took a turn. >> Okay. Then he go like to the park. >> I don't know. No. >> So, he was like, how how tall was he? >> He was like, >> "No, >> he was like that." >> He was like that. >> Did y'all see his private part? >> Well, not me, but she did. >> You just saw it? >> Yes, we saw it. >> She was on it. >> Give me a second. You'll sit right here. Call Do you have your parents here? >> Yes. >> Uh, call your parents. Give me a second. I'm here at Palm Place and I have one of the kids who walk up to me and say that they were silly. level mic that was in front of him and he was heading out towards the uh sportsman's park area. So what was he wearing again? >> He was wearing like black and he's like fat and it's like >> so heavy set male. How tall? >> I don't know. Fat >> fat. Was he short hair? Long hair. >> He was like like how his hair look like mine. Black >> black. He was fat. >> Dark skin. >> All right. Black pants. What else? >> No. Basketball shorts. >> Basketball shorts. What shirt? >> Like a black shirt. I think >> black shirt. >> He was He was peing over. So, are you guys being honest? This this happened because we're calling cops on our way here. This really happened. We have people coming. >> Okay. >> All right. Making sure he has short hair. >> Yes. >> Okay. Did he have any facial hair that you can think of? >> Yeah. Just like a beard like this. >> He had a beard. >> Yeah. >> Have you said beard or short? >> Just like >> Okay. So, he had long beard or short beard? >> I don't remember. >> Okay. And you said he went down south this way and then made a right. >> He went right down. I don't know his full. >> You know, you I'm assuming you don't have to. >> I'm calling this. >> Tell your mom to come here. It'll happen on a br like that brick wall but look over there. >> So where >> it happened like on like you see that side but it happened like over there on that >> on the other side >> but on this side of the building. >> So this building on the >> side. >> Another young girl also recounted what she witnessed helping the police record the information and contact the parents. >> So you guys it was you the two other girls like five times for real. He was over here. >> So where where were you guys at when this happened? He was right there on that wall. Right here. Don't touch that wall. >> No, don't touch him. You're fine. So, he was here on this wall. >> Yes. Literally right here. Just right now. >> We like right there. >> And what was he doing? >> Just >> just stand over there. >> So, he was just standing here. >> Yeah. >> How do you know that he was touching his private parts? >> Cuz I think I seen it like pull down his pants. >> You saw him pull down his pants? >> I didn't see him pull down his pants. I was I was just turning the corner and I was like I was like like what the heck is he doing? >> So, did he look old or younger? Like he looked like like a fat year old that looked like 26 at least. >> So early 20s >> probably about late 20s. >> Late 20s. Okay. And where were you at when this happened? >> Literally right >> right there. >> So you're right there like you know where the other girls at? >> No >> around this area. You see him standing here and then Okay. All right. >> Yeah. But um we had to end our Tik Tok because they were saying it and we didn't want to post. >> I got you. Did you videotape him by any chance with the Tik Tok? Possibly. >> No. Um he was right here. My Tik Tok camera was like right. It was like this window but on a different side of the window. >> He was just looking down. >> It was like right here. Like right here but on a different window. So it could only see us in. >> All right. Where's your mom at? >> She's in the house. >> You mind calling your mom for me, please? >> Okay. >> What's your mom's phone number? >> You want me to go get her? >> I just we'll just call her. Just come with her. >> Did he have like uh did he have wigs? Did he have curly hair? Did he have short hair? >> It was just like a hair that looked like he looked like he was homeless or something. >> Okay. Possibly homeless. But did he have like short hair? Did he have like long >> poking out? Like they look like it was Matty hair. >> So matted hair. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice. >> You want to go get your mom real quick, please? >> Yeah. >> All right. I'll be right here. We'll wait for you. Okay. >> All right. Thank you. And then can you get the other girls to come back? I just got to talk to them. Okay. >> Shortly after, a [music] woman came forward recognizing the man. Contacting the parents not only supported the investigation, but also helped protect the children's wellbeing. >> That's your mom. >> Yes. The one in the blue. >> All right. Let's just go talk to her real quick. Hey, how you doing, ma'am? Officer Cabalo, >> I didn't know that was you talking. >> Oh, you're fine. You're fine. So, your daughter and I guess one of her friends came up to me. I don't know. Did she tell you what happened or no? She told you she saw his piss or No, >> you you saw his his private part. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. That's all I need to know. Okay. >> She said she said they kept walking around and she said every time they looked up, they seen the man. He was in different spots. And then when the final time they seen him, he whipped his thing out and spa just told him to come in the house. >> Yeah. Don't be roaming all around here. All right. >> He followed them. They got confirmed to our house. >> The the lightkinned guy. >> Yeah, that door to our house. >> Let's go. >> We'll do all that. Hey, stop what we're doing. Talk to your parents. First off, we want to know what's going on. All that information. It was her, the other girl, and then the two older chicks. >> Was he younger? >> They said he was like late 20s, early 20s, late 20s. She said they don't live out here and we don't talk like that. So that's very new to her. Yeah. And then they said they was with the guy walked to the dollar store with her >> apartment. All right. This one. >> My kids going to come around. We done playing after that. >> No. No. Yeah. >> Cuz I ain't never heard nothing like that. >> Circle the um check out there. Anyway, see that's the only thing I can think of. We'll go from there. I'm just going to sword from you, man. I'm just going to state cuz if they told you everything, I don't got to talk to them. I just talk to you. My name is Officer Cavary with the police department in time. Am I showing everything to the trip and nothing but the church? Yes, sir. Give me a second. Okay. >> We have officer second real quick. That's just your sister. >> Yep. >> Hey, how you doing, man? I'm officer Cabar Police Department. First off, sorry for the what's going on first off. Did they explain to you what happened at all or No, besides her. >> No, they we was sitting there together. >> They say he's homeless or he's either went down sportsman or either went out of Unity way. That's the only thing I can think of. I didn't get obviously we can't talk too much due to their age. >> Yeah. Right. And obviously since they did see his genitalia, we we can't we got to stop that right there because >> we don't talk like that. So she came in the house and she said doing something weird. She don't even know what he's doing. >> Yes, ma'am. No, of course. Are they going to be I would take him inside. So I'm going to call my supervisor. Most likely the detective is going to come out. They do have to speak to you. And since your daughter was the one that said that she saw a little bit more in detail, they're going to want to talk to your daughter a little bit more. Sally >> said the only reason she looked cuz she told her to look >> cuz he was just standing there doing it. Nasty sucker. >> Give me a surprise. People here are crazy. But just give me a second. I'm call my supervisor and just go from there. Okay. Like I said, if you have any questions first, just give me a card. I'm going to give you a card with the business card. We'll go from there. All right. Same type. >> No problem. >> The seriousness of the incident required the police to split up to act and search the related areas. >> Hello T. I was in my car watching a boxing match. Girls come up to me. They were laughing and they were like, "Hey, some dude was just touching his as private as far as I'm like cuz they were laughing like, "Are you guys being serious? Is this really happening?" Gary. I was like, "Okay, all right. All right." So, turn on my body camera. Start talking to them. Okay. Hey, the blackmail heavy set man. They were saying they were just walking around and then they kept on following them. He said they posted up cuz they were doing like TikToks right here right behind was building B. And then when they look to the right, he was on the on the back side of building B towards the northern side like slanted at the wall looking at them. And one of them told their mom that he was checking off on his left hand and they physically saw us. >> Where was it actually at? >> Right. At first I thought they were joking around because they were laughing. >> He was over on the north side like right here. >> This side on the back side. So the girls are right here. This area. >> All right. So if I'm standing here, stand where he was at approximately. >> They said a little bit closer like near the uh trail itself. >> Okay. >> They said he was like this and they said it was with his left hand. >> I just wanted to see and >> they said they saw him physically pull his pants down too. >> All right. Do you still have anybody else helping you on this? I think Hullbrook and Rosario are circling the area for him. I told him to check since they adise he's possibly homeless cuz of the way his clothes looked. I said check Unity Way. Apartment 71, which is right next to the victim's mother. They said that they saw that guy earlier in there. So, >> and where? >> In that apartment. >> In apartment 71. Yes, sir. >> Have we made contact with 71? >> Not yet. Let me see if I can get some confirmation positive ID from the uh 71 over here. >> Yeah. Grab somebody. Run up over there. I'll notify ISP real quick. >> Okay. Yes, sir. Put it. A police officer approached a nearby woman who revealed that she had previously been a victim of similar behavior and knew the suspect. Tavvaris Harrison, 29. >> He said apartment 71, man. Right. 71 was the apartment where they saw him going. >> They seen him walking with her. >> Perfect. >> Hi. Hey. How you doing? Officer Cabler. Um, is your mom here? >> Yeah. >> Perfect. Hey, how you doing? >> Good. How are you? >> Officer, were you? So, we're investigating a Does anybody live here? I'm sorry. Does anybody live here any chance with you? >> My kids do. Yeah. No. Besides, I get adults. >> No. >> Oh. Were you with any gentleman earlier today by any chance? >> I wasn't with him, but he was like following me. Yeah. >> Do you know him? >> Yes. >> What's his name? >> Tvaris. >> Tavaris. What's his last name? >> Harrison. >> Harrison. How do you know him? >> I used to go to school with him. >> Okay. What's his Do you know his How old is he? >> He's my age. 29. >> 29. Okay. What was he wearing? >> Um, black black shirt, black um pants. >> Black pants. >> And then you have short hair, long hair, beard, >> beard, and like a fro. Wow, that's true. >> So, you don't know him personally? Just >> I mean, I do, but I mean, I haven't talked to him since high school. >> I got your promo and I guess he was debating. >> He wasn't. >> He showed me his name. >> No, not to you? >> Yeah, he showed it to me. >> To you as well? >> Yes. Did he do it to somebody else? >> He did it to the kids. >> Oh my god. Yeah, he did it to me too. >> Today? >> Yes. >> What's your name? >> He just He was like, "Look." And I looked [music] and it was >> Okay. And obviously you didn't want to. No. >> Okay. All right. Uh, give me a second. I'll be right back with you. Okay. Just go inside. Okay. >> All I know is he's around the corner. [clears throat] >> The first street over is where he lives. >> Oh, you don't know where I just >> I don't know exactly which house, but I know it has like a charger in the front yard. Like a gray charger. >> Okay. Thank you. Is that the one right in front of sportsman? What? The one right in front of sportsman's park? >> Yeah. Right in front of >> that has a charger. It looks >> uh like kind of like not old, but looks the house looks like boarded up. >> Yeah. >> Okay. The police carefully recorded the information and identified the suspect's location. >> So spoke to the She's like, "Yeah, I know him. We used to go to high school together." Surveyor Harrison around 29 years old. >> Dickham, you said you got Rosario and Hullbrook. >> Yeah. >> Hol Brook. Are you and Rosario still in touch? Try to look across from Sportsman Park. See if you can find an address that has a boat and a um charger in front of it and see if you can buy the address. >> Can we get someone recorded? >> Take a positive ID. >> Positive ID on it. What we'll do is we'll pull a secondary 1096. >> Okay. For the same incident. Well, for the same two different cases. >> Two different cases because he had two separate ones. It wasn't one continuous act. Yes, sir. >> We can cuz it's now that it's a misdemeanor warrantless arrest exception, we can pick them up and not worry about anything. That way, we can get him. If we find him, we can 105 him for it. She IDs him as the one we can find him. I mean, we can then try to get a hold of the mom and then if they're able to get them, we'll get the mom and the kid. You got show up forms in your car? >> Uh, yes, I do. >> We'll just take it. You can put mom with or with her or whatever. >> Okay. and then just tell them, "Hey, we're going to drive over here, see him, if they identify him, >> we can pick him up with this if we >> with this." >> Yeah. But if if we do pick him up, what I'm saying is that, yeah, we're going to go ahead and do the the show up and then we'll try to put it all together. >> I'm going to pull some intel on him real quick to see what he's got in his background. Is it a charger that's broken down? >> Yeah, it's is is that boarded up house right there? We're in front of it. >> Yeah, 104. I think the house is supposed to look boarded up. >> They returned to the woman's home to gather additional details about [music] the man's residence. >> Hey, how you doing? Just I got to get a statement from you real quick if you don't mind. All right, then. And do you want to press charges? Is a dumb question, but I got to ask. >> Yes. >> Okay, perfect. All right. At one border house that has a boat right in front of the sports rooms. Correct. >> Yes. Uh-huh. >> Does he live there? >> I don't know if he lives there, but he's always there or he's always at the park. I always see him sitting there at the park. So, he's all I know he's got to be. He was literally when I was walking from the dollar store, he was on this first street at somebody's house. I think he was walking and that's when he called my name. >> All right. Perfect. I'll be right with you. Okay. Just give me a second. L2. We got positive ID. T, one of our victims on an unrelated case that he exposed himself to earlier today says they know him and that they say he lives at that house. So, we're going to go over there and try to find him. Run over there and go get him. >> Yes, sir. >> That's what you want to um go find old boy. Get the handcuffs. We're getting the handcuffs. We come back here and see the kids home or go ahead and we find them. We'll come back over here and we'll try to do this. >> After locating the suspect, the police checked the house but received no response. During this process, they knocked on neighboring doors and discovered others connected to the case, clarifying the scope of the incident. >> What in please? >> Want me to go check back here? >> I'll just go around this way. >> Got one door here. >> Got a door? >> Yeah. >> Hang tight. >> I don't know if people watching TV or they're crying. Do you hear that? >> No. >> Sounds like either yelling or crying >> in here. >> Yeah. Come here. Stand right there. >> There's movement right here. Yeah, >> this window is moving when you walk past. >> Check police department. >> I hear something though. >> Yeah, I know. >> It's going to be Delta Alpha Mike. Mike, we got several movements inside. Someone's home, but no one's coming to the door. >> Four. That's a known house where there's multiple people that live inside that. >> Hey, what's going on, man? How are we doing? >> Yeah. How you doing, my man? >> Another day in paradise, man. >> Yeah. What's going on, man? >> We got guys over here on the road next to you. I'm just making sure nobody trying to jump over a fence. >> Oh, but uh she he saw some some people we Yeah. Did you see it? >> Yeah. I came out from work and the guy calling me, "Hey, hey." And he got this thing outside and shaking it for me. I just ignore him and the guy and I look up. I don't know him. >> Have you ever seen him before? >> Nope. First time I seeing him. >> All right. Give me just a minute here. Hey, I'm out with a third victim over here in the apartments on the north side. And if you saw the guy, would you recognize him? If I showed you a picture of him, would you be able to pick him out of the lineup? >> I didn't watch you see, but he was not kept. >> Okay. Where where did it happen at? >> Right at the end of the >> the driveway. >> Right at the end of the driveway there. Yeah. >> So, right over here. He was standing where? >> He was standing right there. >> He was standing right here about What time was that? How long ago? >> Okay. When I finished playing So, that's almost 7:00. >> Well, hang tight for me for just a minute. Um, would you mind if I got a statement from you? Just tell me what you saw. >> No, I got to get a recorded statement from you, but I'm going to have one 100%. Yeah. Say, if you give me just a couple minutes, I'll come back here and talk to you. Okay. Did anybody was anybody else outside that saw it that you know of? >> And anybody else? No. I I was coming out from work by myself. >> At the house, there were signs of activity inside, but no one answered the door, increasing [music] the urgency of the investigation. >> I knocked like crap. I hear the kids. No, I just hear I saw I saw some movement in those blinds. So, >> when a police >> Hey, you stay there. Stay in the bed. All right, I'll just keep on knocking. Can we get an answer? Hey, see if you can see anything. Got like blackout curtains. Can't see nothing through that. Try that front window. We're not having police. >> Is that inside or you? >> It's not me. I hear it though. >> We know you inside, dog. Come out. Just heard a male voice. Y'all blacked out even though we're here. You heard? >> Say blacked out, too. >> Oh, they're blacked out now, too. Hey, I'm going to check this shed real quick. >> Yeah, go ahead. >> We're police department. To ensure community safety, the police expanded the [music] investigation to nearby areas. They discovered that the house had previously been linked to police investigations, underscoring the severity and potential danger of the incident. >> We have a third person who lives in the apartment right behind you. >> You want me to stack it up? >> So, what we're going to do, you run over there, finish up what you got with them. >> Okay. >> You know, I think you've already got it much wrapped up with the juveniles. There's not a whole lot with it. We've got the interview already with the one girl. >> Yep. We'll get the complaint affidavit put in ASAP. Okay. >> I don't know if you guys are aware, you know, you know whose house is. Potter Miller and all them. They had a double. You ever heard of the trap boys? The biggest gang that's been around out here forever. >> No, there weren't. >> You notice all the cameras on the outside? >> Yeah, I noticed all the cameras. >> The most double side I ever had was inside that house. Mama and all them that live there all got accident like 6 years ago. But um what we'll do, we'll leave this guy alone for right now. >> Okay. >> They're not going to come to the door. We know that. So, but we may catch him later on. We'll put it in the CIC. She said she was at about 7:00 she was coming in from work standing out here. Old boy stood right there. She described them to a tea like looked homeless, beard, a little heavier set. Doesn't know if she could idea, but we're going to try to Williams probably Williams rule all these together if we could. You have to do separate six cuz they're all separate instances. Okay, we should go interview her with the best you can. When you're done interviewing her, we need to do a and I'm going to help you Jay, you're going to help me with this. We need to do as good of a canvas as we can on all the houses between here palm place. Yes, sir. >> That way cuz if we can pick him up running back and forth and getting it all for a timeline, that's what can help piece it together. So, you've got her. Finish up with your two that you have. It's going to be two separate 1096s. >> You could I don't care if you do you do everything in full format for life. >> It's easier. >> And then you I need you to help me. We'll do start doing canvases for everything. If we find video, we'll put it all under is actually his main case number. All right. So, everybody's got their everybody knows what they're doing. >> In this case, community cooperation proved invaluable. Officers went door to door to gather additional information and asked residents to share footage from their security [music] cameras, making the investigation more effective. >> Yeah, I see. Maybe maybe you can help me out. We got a couple little girls up here at Palm Place. They had some guy out there showing his pecker to them. We found three other people that said they had the same guy showing his pecker. I didn't know if you saw anything if you were sitting outside. >> No, I came home. I had been out all day. >> I appreciate you, ma'am. Thank you. >> All right. If I see him, I'll be talking. >> I'm doing good. How you doing? I didn't know. Does this pick up out there to the roadway at all? Can you see if you saw anybody like around between like 6:45 and 7:15? >> Let me go to my app here. >> I appreciate you. >> You're welcome. I got no I got no activity since >> Okay. >> since I came in at 356 and you walked up. >> Just you and me. >> Just me and you both. >> That's it. Well, if you see something suspicious, give us a call. All right. Appreciate you, sir. >> Thank you. >> Yeah, I talked to that guy right here already. I knocked and rang on this one. I talked to her and see what he's got. >> Oh, she said um she didn't see the direction when she walked past him. She said she didn't look back. Yeah. >> But he could have either went uh east or west. >> All right. I'm just walking through here cuz if he does live over there, maybe any of these houses could have cameras in the windows or on the doors or anything like that. So, when you have something like this and you're trying to basically play the telephone game with locations, you always want to walk the most likely path, any any path you can realistically that's able to cuz you'd be surprised some people have cameras in like their windows right here or just because they live here, they could have their own ring cameras set up cuz you look over what more than likely happened they could have ran over there and literally just hopped the fence right there >> or just walk through >> or just walk around right here. >> Yeah. So, okay. Hey, what's up, bro? Hey, random question for you. You cameras work? We got some guy that was showing his pecker off to the kids out there at Palm Place. So, call my mom real quick. >> We just want to see if he ran this way cuz your neighbor over here in these little duplexes had somebody showing their off too. >> I'm trying to see if we can see somebody going through. >> Call my mom and see if they Okay, I appreciate it. Mom, 6:30 is our first thing we had. >> Is the uh camera Does the camera turn on? Is it turning on or no? >> Between like 6 and 7, there's some guy. Do y'all know what he looks like? Yeah, it's a black male beard wearing black on black black t-shirt, black um basketball shorts and sandals. >> Seen his mom. It's your dude that you know coming back. Uh >> yeah, it was him. We see him around him all the time. >> Okay. >> I'll stay out here. >> Okay. Yeah. Just stay out here. Um we'll uh we'll knock on your door or come come to one of us whenever you get it. Okay. >> Okay. >> Nope. >> You don't know nothing? I don't even want to know. >> All right. So, cameras won't pick nothing up. Okay. They said they don't know. They don't want to know. And the camera, they don't know if the cameras pick up anything. >> Somebody to make find out. >> They don't even want to be a part of it. >> Okay. >> Yep. How we doing today, sir? Doing all right. Question for you if you got a second. Guess some guy that was running around showing his off to people. I figured, you know, no cameras on. I just seeing if you saw anybody running around or anything like that happening. >> Uhuh. >> You see something like that, man? Let us know. Like I said, two of the people we've talked to said they weren't even going to report it, but now we got three people that have been victims so far. So, okay. If you see something, let us know. All right. >> All right. >> Appreciate you. >> Yeah, they had some guy about two hours ago possibly exposing himself. >> We're out here looking for So, if you see anybody that peeing towards the middle of the road, playing pocket pool, doing whatever he's doing, let us know. We're just trying to see if we can piece something together. >> Fortunately, many residents were willing to cooperate, sharing information, and providing the suspect's location. >> Hello, sir. >> Yes, sir. Hey, quick question. >> Yeah. >> Are these cameras always running? The two cameras in the window or the camera in the window? They're not. >> No. >> Okay. All right. Yeah. We were just seeing uh if you might have had a video of somebody leaving here or something like that, but they're not always running or anything. No. >> No. Okay. Just >> we put it here. Damn. >> Gotcha. All right. Well, that's what I needed to know. Thank you. All right. Have a good one. >> Hey, parents here. >> Yeah. >> How you doing? I'm cavalier when I don't know if they spoke to you or daughters at all. What happened to that? >> He did. Let's say some some man show their private part or something. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. So, based on that, I do have to just I'm going have to speak to you. That's all. Okay. Okay. Explain for me real quick. You start to tell me the truth or nothing but the truth. >> Yes. >> Cuz you might explain what happened today. >> I don't know. Just came in the house, ran in, say, "Mom, mom." And they say they was seeing some dude playing with himself. >> Did they um did they emphasize if they saw his private parts or not? Oh, he did just say he was >> playing himself, >> going like this and looking at them, >> moving his hands while holding on to his and looking at them. >> Yes. >> How did they describe the the subject? >> They say that the oldest one keep saying he was fat. He was fat and he had some they say he had black and gray shorts and a black shirt. He said he was they keep saying like he was homeless. >> No, you >> a homeless a homeless man. >> Hi. Sorry. I just need her to sign one more thing over here. Is that okay? And then sign right here where it says witness signature. >> My first and last name. >> Mhm. >> And then if you'll put today's date right there for me. >> Thank you. All righty. Have a good one. Okay. >> Bye. Thank you, ma'am. You >> even after hearing noises inside the house, the police chose to withdraw safely and prepare an arrest warrant with solid legal grounds. The next day, [music] upon receiving reports that the suspect was seen on the street, officers immediately arrived in the neighborhood. This time the man had to face legal accountability. >> Whiskey 712. >> Show me out of 33 Avenue W. Whiskey Northwest and First Street Northwest. Harrison. >> All right. Do me a favor, dog. Just come with me. Come here. No weapons on you. Nothing like that. >> No. >> First Street Northwest. Can I have a 35? 37. Come on. Come over here. Put your things here real quick. Put your hands on your back real quick. Any weapons on you? Anything like that? >> Cut me. Poke me or prick me? >> No. >> No. All right. Go inside my vehicle. Stand right there. Turn around. Look over here. Same over here. My back. Same over here. Look over here. All right. Going to sit down for me, big dog. All right. Sit. Nice to meet you. >> Boss man, do me a favor. Confirm your first name and last name. >> Harrison. >> There's a active complaint affidavit for you. Okay. All right. I'm not going to ask you anything like that. Just I'm going I'm going take you down to the station real quick. Okay. >> Actually, that's what I'm talking about. Here she is. He's in the car. I told him he's uh he confirmed did a bird confirmed. So what was he doing now? He's been walking. >> I went that way and I was like let me keep on like he's cuz one of my guys that I know he was like, "Hey, I just saw him go north around like early days." He was walking. So Mr. Harrison. Hey. So we're going to have some people come talk to you real quick. All right, man. Before they do that, I'm going to talk to you. I'm going read you something. Okay. All right. You okay? Is it too cold in the back for you? The man was charged with one count of first-degree misdemeanor exposure of a sexual organ.
