Over the years, the United States has recorded numerous cases involving children left without proper supervision. From the series of complex incidents [music] in 2023, >> keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. >> And then off >> to the case of a young [music] child founding on the street in 2025. >> Where my baby? >> No, I was down there from school. >> OH MY GOD. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HE WAS GONE. >> WHILE we was talking TO THE POLICE, MY BABY RAN OFF. All of these highlight one clear point. Ensuring safety and family responsibility is beyond question. Can you believe that in just a few hours, one mother could turn an ordinary day into a chain of complex and challenging events? A traffic incident, children left without supervision and heated arguments. >> She was acting like she was drunk >> and she needs to take her medicines for she can not act bad like that. On September 18th, 2023, police received three separate reports involving the same woman in a single day. The first was about a truck that had been in a traffic collision with another vehicle. At the scene, officers collected information from both the driver and the other party involved. >> You don't have a driver's license. >> As I was telling her, my mother just got out of hip surgery and she took care of me and my daughter and the driver. I also did come in my uh the place is here. Other than that, um I do not have this vehicle. My mom just had her >> Yes. And as soon as I get home, I go, >> you want me to go ahead and do a report on it? She doesn't have a driver's license. >> Yeah, I do. Yes, I do. You need it. I have that camera footage. I unplugged it. >> I believed you. >> I don't know if you need this. >> Yeah, the insurance registration registration. Did it happen in the parking lot? >> No, it happened back there in front of uh like where in used to be. >> So, what happened? >> What happened now? Street probably right around where the uh end was and I was behind the right lane. People kind of going slow and then I just heard this. I guess somebody else saw it. Or you How did you guys find out? I didn't call the police. >> Somebody called me. >> All right. >> Not long after, another report came in. A young child had been left unattended inside a truck near a school. When officers arrived, the mother was no longer at the scene, [music] prompting an urgent search. >> Hello. >> Here's someone. >> Police department. >> All right. What you got? >> Hello. police department. >> What's the margarita? >> I'm pretty sure. >> All right, let's click. Hi. >> Where's the child? >> Come on back. >> Okay, >> this is mom in the waiting room, and we just weren't sure what we were allowed to do or not do, but uh the child is with Mr. So to our counselor, do you want me to take you out down there? >> Sure. Yeah. >> Let's go this way. >> Do you have an ID, man? >> I kind of think she's a grandma to the child. >> So that's the van. >> Uhhuh. >> Okay. Hi. >> Oh, hello. >> How you doing today? >> Hey. Um, what's your mom's name? Do you know where she's at? >> No. Did she tell you where she was going? >> Has your mom been acting off today or >> in the morning? She was acting fine. She was acting like she went drunk and like >> she was acting like she was drunk >> and she needs to take her medicines for she can act like that. >> Okay. What medicine does she take? Do you know? >> Does your mom usually drink alcohol? >> She does. >> No. You said if she doesn't take her her medicine, she acts drunk. So, you live with your grandma? >> Uh-huh. >> What's your grandma's name? >> Okay. Are you doing okay right now? >> All right. Well, you're in good hands. Okay. Just give us a little bit more time. We're just uh we're just trying to make sure everything's okay. >> Almost at the same time, another police unit was dispatched to a different location after reports linked the same woman to a conflict. Come here. Me and my daughter move your >> Ryan. >> Um, >> so what was your name again? >> Margarita. What was your 20? >> Officers worked to reassure the child and locate a trusted relative to provide care. >> Well, I have an officer over here. >> Yeah, he came I think when they reported the accident. >> Okay. Well, I know that's that's grandma >> and she just said that they live with grandma. She did say that was her mom. Could it? >> I guess not. I don't know if Lindy talked to her. She was Lindsay was out there with them. The principal. She was out there with him and she had talked to her for just a second and then she took off. >> So I talked to a child. They have her the school. >> Yeah, the school. They're not going to release her. >> At [snorts] the same time, the mother appeared to be in a difficult state and provided inconsistent information. [laughter] >> Hill Street. I told her I was doing matches her daughter. >> Let me figure out what I want to do. She >> was like, "Oh, blah blah. You have a daughter?" I was like, "I do." And she has a daughter. >> That's my that yes sir. >> She moved from I told that my daughter and me and you go back and forth. was just like, "Yes, but when me and my daughter went to pick her up, >> she had nothing." Like, "Okay, we'll take care of her." You have the keys. >> Can I see him? >> Of course. >> 214. >> I'm sorry. You got something? >> Can I see the keys for you? >> They're in the van. >> They're in the van. >> I'm sure my dad >> and them calling now. >> So, what happened to your face? Why are you all? >> Yeah. Well, because this idiot, I told him I came over here and I was like, besides my home girl, they were the only ones that you were getting from. My turn was ready to do mess and she's been waiting for them. And I told her like if you give them, I'm going to call the police. I will call the police. I do not give a and she started my face and I told her I don't give a pick up. My mom's sitting at home. >> How did you get that in your face >> from this? >> Did he hit you or anything? >> He said catch me talking about that. But I'm calling the police because I'm out of my right. I'm like I'm out of right mind. I made her drink a little and then but you have and you and my neighbor sister cuz she knows that you like basketball. The situation became more complicated when some relatives expressed [music] concern with police keeping the child for safety. If >> we find her, I'm going on a 15 for run for >> they have her. They said she's on abandonment. Who has her? >> I don't know. Ask her 20. I think he said Hill Street. >> But they lie to me. I came with my mom. How are we? Well, if she lives there without her, then that's me and that's not what's happening here. >> Okay. Well, we still have an investigation to do. As far as we were advised, Margarita was in a crash. She left the child in the vehicle and she just left the scene. >> That's right. But the child is in the care of my mother, so she's there to >> I understand that. And I will go ahead and release a child once everything is said and done and we figure everything out, >> which is when and where is my niece? >> Your niece is here at the school. >> Okay. But my mom and my sister are going to stay there until that happens. They're not going nowhere. >> And that's perfectly fine. The child's staying until until everything's fine. We have some things to figure out. The child's not going to go anywhere until then. >> All right. What do you all need for someone to pick a child up? >> The car tab. She was coming in to just check her out when they need the emergency card and if they're on the list. We also use pick my kid. Each family gets two car tags. Those car tags to who they want to pick their child up. >> So, she was either on the list or had a car. calm down. >> At the same [snorts] time, authorities worked with a man connected to the case to clarify details. >> At the end of the day, call the police. >> Call the police because her and her husband their gun was her and her. So, I came over here and I told him, "Get my dresser." Hi. Get her. I swear to God I did say the out my porch brother. >> Hey Gary Gary, what's going on man? >> I don't know. I was just sitting here talking to the post office >> about stolen mail. The girl comes walking from over there. She's mumbling words to me. >> Right. >> So I'm just looking at her and I said, "Is she coming over here?" She walked right up here. So I had to throw my stuff. I had to her out of the house. >> She came in your house? >> Yes. Look, look, she grabbed me and I was telling 911 sheing me. So the phone fell out of here and I her out of the house. >> How do you know her? >> I don't know her. >> You have no idea who she is? >> I swear to God, I don't know who she is. She's making in Spanish and she going to come back. She's got family. It's going to me up. So I want protection here because my life has been done before already. >> Did she actually went in your house? >> Look, look at my nail. Yes, she did. I had to get her from here and her back. Look where she grabbed me. Now if I would, I want to beat the out of somebody for >> I'm not that person. >> What happened? So she grabbed >> she grabbed me with her nails. So I grabbed her from the hair and then I pushed her off and then I tried to keep her down and and I was calling 911. >> Yeah. >> And then I had to drop off the phone. She told me to go back inside. So I did because I don't want to get in trouble. >> So you stayed inside and she stayed out here >> and she and then she grabbed my stuff from there the salon throwing them saying she's going to come back with family. So that must just protect myself. >> Yeah. So you didn't basically threw out after she had already got inside? >> Yeah. I I had this stuff in my hand. Writing down stuff from the post office. I was writing down some phone numbers for stolen mail. And I said, "What is she saying?" >> You mind if I take some pictures of you, Gary? >> Go ahead. >> All right. >> From my um older right here. >> Is he like a friend of theirs? >> Yeah. >> And then you're in front of them. >> He not anymore, but he took over my my daughter one time when she came down from Pasadena and I was like, "Hey, I have to work." And my daughter suggest I pick her up after my sister. Those are princess because me and my sister were trying to do what I have to do. But >> I live to that guy right there. >> I live before you're my older sister in the first 6 years. From their observations, officers observed that the mother appeared to be under the influence, which contributed to the difficulty of managing the situation. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. >> The reason why I'm here with you today is because we were dispatched to the Desert Willow Elementary School. I guess there was a ve there was a collision in the back end of the school involving a white Ford van and another vehicle. And your child is inside of the van. >> Not inside. Not inside at all. >> Okay, let's talk a little bit about that. What do you What do you know about that? My mom asked me for to go get eggs and baloney and bread. >> Eggs and baloney and bread. Okay. >> And she goes our daughter which she always gets after um for all. >> Where was your daughter at? >> On white on I'm sorry. But the desert height >> the desert school. >> So yes sir. So I had paused things and they're already in the van which is red and ham. >> Are those groceries still in your van? >> Yes sir. But I must admit I am not used to driving. You get that? My mom took to my D4. Mom from school. Well, since you took her out. >> By any chance, are there groceries inside of the van? >> Right here is the stocking. >> Oh, sock is right here. It broke right here. Yes. Right here. >> So, you went and got some groceries from Alups and then you went to go pick up your daughter from >> No, no. It's about to be time. I got pulled over because I pulled into a truck. Park truck. uh trucks. >> Let's talk about when you picked up your daughter from the desk. >> All my ham is because I pulled >> I thought you said you >> on the train track on the tracks where I hit the you get that other truck when you were going to pick her up. >> Yes. You drove over there to go pick her up. You just didn't get her yet. >> Well, we got pulled over so >> that was earlier it is. >> Yeah, that was earlier today though, right before you came here and you got into an altercation with this guy. Where were you coming from? I'm going to go without my um daughter. >> Your daughter from the Desert Willow school, right? >> Did you walk over here or >> How did you get here? >> No, I had the >> You had the truck. Which truck? >> The van. >> Where's the van at? Let me ask you something, Margarita, real quick. Have you been drinking today? >> At this point, though, right? >> Yeah. You're driving. >> It's not illegal for you to drink, but have you been drinking? >> It is. I'm driving. >> You're driving, right? But have you been drinking? >> Yeah. And I the book is meant to be spitted out. What are you feeling? My >> Do me a favor, Wayne, and take a photo of that, please. >> Yes. Take a sex photo. >> How much have you had to drink? >> Hold on. I didn't pick food. The first one, the first. >> It's okay. Just take >> the first day after my mom. My mom was like, "Why don't you pick up Jenny?" Cuz they know I don't have my sister. My older sister is they called me and they were like, "Well, we took my niece uh to school by like 7:00 a.m. Fine." >> So, I don't want you walking around barefoot. So, put your shoes on. >> You get that that hurt. Like, I did real quick. Can you help, bro? >> Put your Nikes on. >> Do you get that though? >> Yes, ma'am. >> That did hurt because we're supposed to be a family. We get that, right? >> Hey, don't fall. Relax. We lean on the car. Okay. So listen to her to school. >> We have your daughter. Okay. So your daughter's in good hands right now. >> Where is she? >> She's at the school and your mom is there and your sister is there. >> I can smell I can smell the alcohol in your breath. >> When asked to undergo a medical check to assess her condition, the mother reacted strongly and resisted. >> My twin sister. >> Your twin sister's at the school with your dog. >> Yes. She drinks way much more than she drinks more. >> Yeah. She has a way. >> So look, we're going to do some we're going to do some standardized field sobriety tests. Okay. Yes, please do that and I don't care what >> So go ahead and step over here with me. >> Oh, you don't understand what I'm talking about. >> This your shirt, man. >> Is this your shirt? >> Yes. >> That's cool. >> But go ahead and put your shirt on for me. >> You understand? My twins and my daughters, that's my only mother daughter I found cuz I realized it's a lot. >> It's a lot of responsibility. That [ __ ] feels my heart. Do you get that? >> Hey, look. The ambulance is here. your mouth. >> Your nose is all good cuz that was something right here. Come here. >> Yeah, we're we're investigating. Let them check you out. We're going to introduce her. >> Okay. >> You do not want to understand. >> They're here to look at you. >> Them right here. I will get them. >> You will not. >> Okay. >> Understand. >> Let them call my family. My daughter. Yes, ma'am. Yes. >> I understand. Can you let them look at you? >> Yes. But do you understand what I The only reason I stopped here. I introduced like a idiot to her. She's going to go talk to him. Oh, please don't >> talk to these people. Turn around. >> Turn around. >> Yes. Look, they're >> turn. You cannot >> [ __ ] I am affiliated. >> They're here to help you. Mexicanel Paris, but that's me, [ __ ] >> Okay, HOLD ON. SHUT THE UP. My twin, my niece, my and I try to chin my waist. >> Stop getting in my face. Margarita, relax. >> Good night. Okay. >> Can you Can you watch your park? >> Yeah. >> She admitted that she was driving. She was admitting that she was drinking because >> And then they did actually pull over. There was another collision that she was over there described her red hair. >> At the same time, the school had to handle a tense situation with some relatives who were uncooperative. >> That's her mom. She needs to go home with us. We're not going to freaking be. >> This is her ass. is my sister. But she has every right and that's true. They did lie and we're not going to leave. I'm sorry. My mom lied. >> I'm trying to I came here to pick up my niece. I am on the list. I came here with my kids. They all lied to me. What time did you pick come to pick up? Do >> you never seen her ever in your life? Swear to God. Swear to God. She make she's got family that's going to come and me up tonight with a que. >> Got you. >> Minga. So >> So whenever you threw her out, you were holding down. They told you to go inside. >> Yep. And I did. >> Did she go inside? >> She came right after me. So I locked the door. I said, "Oh my god." So I went and got this stick just in case she pushed the door open. I couldn't lock it cuz >> So she was going inside. That's when you locked the door. >> Well, she came inside. I had this on my head writing down the pencil. I was writing down information to the post office. So I dropped it and then I slammed the door again. And then that's when I went to lock the door. Like when she walked off, I opened the door and watched what she was going through. You know, I'm not a person. >> Yeah. No, you're not. >> And my clothes came off in Artisia. So, I got arrested for for decent exposure. It's all a bunch of man. >> Got you. >> Cuz I'm not that crazy person that's putting me out to me. >> I know. I know. I know. I >> This is the second woman. >> Do me a favor. Let me go real quick to my cuz you're going to want something done with this. >> I want to arrest it. >> Just wait for me here. Uh me and the officer going to go talk and then that way I want protection. I want security because let me tell you something. My life has been threatened already. I haven't showered in about a week because I'm under stress. Man, I'm under a lot of stress. You know, my family thinks on my I don't really got the support. >> Step by step, [music] the units worked in coordination. The mother was soon taken into custody after failing to follow police instructions during a sobriety test. >> Put your feet together. Relax. I want you to put your feet together like this for me. >> My turn. I already have a twin. >> Put your feet together for me. >> Yes, sir. >> Keep your arms down to your sides. All right. All I need you to do is look at my finger. Look at the tip of my finger and stay still. >> I'm ready to go. >> Put your feet together. Keep your arms down to your sides. >> I don't know. I have no problems. >> Well, we'll do this really fast. All right. So, put your feet together. Look at my finger. And I want you to keep your eyes on my finger. Keep your head still. Okay. Yes, ma'am. Look at my finger. >> You have no view on me, >> Margarita. Look at my finger for me. Look at my finger right here. Keep your arms onto your sides for me. Look at my finger. Keep your hands to your sides. Look at my finger. Look at my finger. Hey, keep your eyes on my finger. >> All right, we're going to do the the next test. Okay, >> what's the next test? >> It's the walking turn test. I want you to go ahead and picture an imaginary line in front of you. All right. Can you do that for me? >> Well, I don't know. I know. My love or my >> Okay. My sister. >> We'll talk about your sister in a little bit. >> My niece, my nephew, my daughter. >> Place your left foot on the line. Margaret, place your left foot on the line. >> And place your right foot in front of your left foot just like I'm doing. >> What's the point? I told you. >> It's to determine whether you've been driving under the influence. >> Yes, I have. >> Okay. Turn around for me. You're under great. So my tw my daughter I have a brighter under her. >> With many parties involved from family to the victim and the mother, police difficulties [music] controlling the situation. >> Pocket for my pocket. >> Oh, the whole pocket right here. Let me see. This is her shirt. >> I get a phone cuz it ain't mine. That's why I grabbed her to throw it away from my house. You know what I mean? Cuz I was sitting here and I was on the phone like this and and I see her walking. I said, "Well, who the hell is she talking to?" Believe me, >> this one across the tree of that tree. No, no, no, no. >> If you don't do nothing about it when I cut the not connect to Mexico. Should I >> stay still? >> Should I >> stay still? >> That house in front of me. >> All right, come on. We're going to my family. Yes, please do it. I start when I get the out that you right there and that one >> and the one that picture of Margie right Margarita is that right? >> She said that mom had a hurt leg and told her to come get him to come get Jenny. That's what she said. >> But she has the car tag cuz you gave her the car tag. Yes. Yes. She's worried that if she's not with her at home, she could get >> the [snorts] biggest challenge came from the mother who kept refusing to cooperate, adding to the tension. >> What the >> stay right here because we never had a family. I never knew what the I would be. >> Okay. But I want you to because then if I am your soldier. >> All right. All right. >> Well, represent my family. You don't know who the I am within. >> I'm on your side. >> Are you then? Repeat after. Repeat after me. >> I'll repeat after you if you will. >> Margarita, sit down, please. >> South Carolina. >> Yes. Sit down for me, please. You don't have my back? >> Yes, I have your back. Sit down. Okay. Sit down for me. Say it. Sit down for me. Right here on the seat. >> WELL, I CAN'T. >> WHY CAN'T YOU? >> HELENA CAN'T. >> NO, DON'T PUT your hand. >> I have to help me. COME HERE. COME HERE. >> Put him back in the back. >> How the do you think I can't come here? >> They don't go like that. >> Well, then help me. >> You put yourself in that situation. >> Help. It's not my fault. >> Sit down. Come here. I am a billion. >> Sit down right there. You are a queen. Okay, sit down. >> Yeah. Are you saying that to most? >> Say that to us. >> Sit down. Okay, now >> you have what? Give me a hand. >> Say the out of her. >> Hey, stop. >> Say the out of her. The only one I have problem with with you, Mina. And you have a problem with me. I've been >> Yeah, because of my sisters. >> I've been nice to you. Yeah. Nice work here and there. Hey, stop doing that. >> Quit before I tie your feet. >> While school staff [music] explained the pick my kid system to police to ensure student safety, the mother gave fragmented [music] stories unrelated to the case. >> I'm just afraid that if she leaves and then she >> So, what's the deal with a car tag? >> So, our car does have a car. >> We have the the um it's a pick my kid system. It's a whole little like program that we use and it assigns a number to a student and that's how we like match up the parents ID with the students tag that we match the numbers and that's how we know we're getting them to the right adult. So at the beginning of the year we were we gave every parent two tags and those were their two tags. So like if I needed a friend to go pick up my daughter, I would tell my tag and I would say, "Hey, I need you to go pick up my kid cuz I'm out of town. Can you go get her for me?" And I would give my friend the tag which would match her up with my kid. Is that like a like a tangible thing or? >> Yeah, it's like a piece of paper like it's like this and we have them color coded by the grade levels. >> And so then it kind of just has the kids information. It will have like the kids name, their teacher, and then their number. We're assigned a number. Open your mouth for me. Let me see. Do you have any gum? >> You have any gum or anything? >> But I'm drunk. >> Open your mouth, please. >> And I'm not scared to walk in. >> Okay. Open your mouth. Thank you. But if you can start a 20-minute Okay. So, um I I appreciate your patience. Okay. I'm not saying don't be mad. I understand emotions are high. Unfortunately, in my job, sometimes my investigations, they take a little bit of time. What's the child's name again? I'm sorry. She's going to be fine to go. Okay. >> Just in my job, I have to document. I have to I have to report everything. Okay. I can't just release a child to someone because emotions are high. Margarita, listen. Okay. >> You know what cars represent? Cars. You guys know what Cars represents? We're on the map. >> No, no, no, no. I have to tell you something. We represent Mexico to take this independent test. You have the right to rearrange physician a licensed nurse or laboratory technology and technologist employed by a hospital to perform [laughter] an additional chemical test. >> The cost of this additional test will be paid for by the law enforcement agency. Do you agree to take our test? >> Do you agree to take our test? >> Yes, baby. I'm so >> Yeah. Yeah. Because of Margarito. >> Do you agree to take our test? >> Say my name at the name of sir. Hey, what's that? I haven't heard you before. >> So listen, we're going to go to the police >> and we're going to do a test. >> No, even if I say 30 minutes, 30 miles. >> Just relax for me. >> Police then announced the decision to detain the mother for further investigation. >> That's fine. Thank you. Of >> course. I'm going to make sure her name is tell me. >> So the phone number that you call 911, is that is that a good phone number for you? >> Okay. What's going to happen? Like I said, we're going to go take her to jail. She's arrested for this and some other stuff. Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. Look, what was her excuse for for for coming over here? >> Like I said, she's not making any sense. >> I know. Then she grabbed my stuff trying to throw my stuff and I'm looking at her. I'm thinking now my family already thinks I'm crazy. his his father-in-law thinks that that I'm off my rocker. No support. >> If anything, call us back. All righty. All right, Gary. You have a good one. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Yes, sir. >> Even at the station, police had to intervene to manage the situation. >> I'm going to go down here. Okay. >> You're here. >> Watch your step. Don't fall. >> I can't. >> Watch your step. >> Help me. >> Well, you keep walking away from me. >> Let's go. We're going to go through this door right here. So drunk. I hate you. I hate life. >> You're so drunk. >> It's cuz your life is so good. >> Don't hit me cuz you're going to get in trouble. >> Quit. I'm going to go in this room right here to the left. >> Whoa. What the [ __ ] >> I'm going to turn the lights on for you. >> Are you? >> Yes. >> Where are they? >> They're over there. Sit down. Don't Hey, I need to put your hand in the scuff. Don't resist. Thank you. Shut up. Hey, I need to put your hand in this. >> Don't yank on it cuz you're going to hurt yourself. >> That's good. And then >> just wait right there. Okay. >> Well, how long do that? >> You're going to >> Okay. >> Do you think I about my mommy and my raising her? Do you >> 01124? Um, if you can send me the entrance info. >> I'm just Hey, >> hey, relax. >> Relax. Relax. >> You're not going to be throwing [ __ ] Okay. Her nose. >> Oh, you only have one. Yeah. See your left nostril, your right one. There's tissue right there somewhere. We can grab a tissue and we'll put a we'll stuff one up her nose for now. >> I'm sorry. >> All right. Get a >> Got your gloves on her and then we'll just stuff one in her nose for now. You got to relax. We're going to clean your face up. All right. But you can't be serious. Turn around. >> Turn around. >> Stand up. >> You're Yes. You're making it difficult for yourself. So stand up. There you go. Can I have relax? Okay. I'm going to start cleaning up. Okay. Just relax. Ready? Do we have white? Do you want to blow one more time your nose? Cuz that's where all the from. >> Yeah. >> Blow >> at least so you can hold it. Okay. It's going to be in your right one. Hey, if I give you a chair, you're not going to do that again? >> No, we're not giving her a chair. Okay. >> Put this in your nose. >> Yeah. >> You can't do it yourself or you want me to hit it with the other hand and put it yourself. >> Amid [snorts] the chaos, authorities stayed calm and carried out the necessary legal procedures. >> Then just say or margarita, grab the grab that black hose for me. Grab the black hose for me and you're going to blow into the hose as hard as you can. >> Oh yeah. >> Blow into the hose as hard as you can for me and then we'll give you some water and we'll let you call your mom or your sister, whoever you need to call. >> Just blow until we tell you to stop. You know, I have uh I've looked through this some of his stuff out there. Some of it was nostalgical. Got her a couple cool little things that his kids don't use. And there was chairs that dad wanted me to look at in his garage and golf cart. And just kind of looking at that stuff, seeing. And then I was going to see if he wanted me to clean up everything to earn some money cuz I' make $500 in disability. And >> what time did you fall asleep? >> She fell asleep at like stay up a little bit later cuz it's a weekend. So I'd say about 11:00 maybe or something. And then something like that. Yeah. And >> so you've only been at this house one day? Yeah. >> How come your daughter would say otherwise? >> Well, there's no way I've not been out here again. I I'm not calling her a liar at all, but I've not I I just met this guy. This is somebody that >> That's what that's concerning to me. You just met somebody to look at furniture. >> Well, I trusted my ex. >> At 8:00 p.m. last night, you decide I'm going to go to his house to look at furniture to a guy that you've never met before. >> I'm just >> And then stayed the night at his house alone with this guy that you never met before >> till 4. >> It's not 4:00 a.m. You're still there. What are the names of those dogs? >> I think one is Titan. I have no idea about the the other ones. Seems sweet. I think Bobby took one of the dogs or something with him. Your story doesn't make any sense. >> I don't leave like you know my dad >> you were out in the garage at 9:00 and then you were back asleep. So you were inside the house. >> What? >> When we were at the house? >> No, I went out to the garage about >> And then you said I woke up at 11:00 and realized this is usually when she gets up. >> No, I decided to come back from the garage. She wasn't in there. Ran around and heard me calling for her. Then I seen I seen the lights and stuff and I figured she must have. >> So your child has been accounted for for about 2 hours 2 and 1/2 hours. >> Knew she was inside sleeping. Like that's what I didn't you know it just doesn't you know I've been at my dad's inside sleeping and I went out in the yard. You know it's never been I didn't think she would she's 6 years old. I didn't think I I >> So, you left her house, climbed the gate, walked all the way down the road, waved down all these cars. >> What? She came through. >> All these people stopped to help. And all in that time, you still had no idea she was gone. >> I didn't go back into the garage. >> The mother knew nothing about this man. Yet, she allowed her six-year-old daughter spend the night at his place, [music] a stranger's house owned by a man with a prior criminal history who was still on probation. >> Why does she say she's always left home by herself? >> That's You're going to ask that. She's never I've never been away from her for more than a couple hours physically. Like I've raised her since. I don't >> If you took a urine test right now, would you pop clean? >> Yes, I would. Except for my medical mar and my canal. >> Your what? >> My my canal pan. And I'd have to, you know, I'd show you my my card and my my script and stuff like that. >> So, I looked at the timeline when we have the child in our custody. What was the timeline that you last saw your kid? >> I didn't check the time before I went out to the garage. I know Bobby left at 8:39 maybe. I didn't check the time. I just know that could have been out there more than than an hour like >> looking at furniture in the garage for an hour. >> I mean, you can look at there's a ton of stuff that you got like kids furniture and we need all that stuff, you know? I just She was sleeping. And >> where are your shoes? >> As soon as I seen she wasn't inside, I came running outside and looked around for her and then I seen your guys's late so I just booked it this way. I didn't even think to put on shoes. It wasn't a necessity. >> So, you were out in the garage with no shoes? >> No, I had I went in the house, took them off. She was in the living room where she's supposed to be and went around the corner in the covers and I instantly panicked and and looked around whatever property he had and then I seen you guys' lights. So I figured come see if you guys have seen her. >> Which one's the garage? The ones right behind the back door. The one to the left. >> So you're coming up the driveway. It's there's like a little outhouse looking thing on the Yeah. And then so it's a big one. >> If I remember right, there's only a couple yards between that door and the front door where we were. >> I swear I did not. I if I would have heard you guys, I would have never not done like I would never want this, you know, or anything like this. If I had heard you or thought that she wasn't >> I just want to make sure I got this right. You were at a hotel last night. >> Yes. >> You're told about some guy that you don't know that he has furniture. >> So, you leave to go to his You just trust a random guy. >> My ex-boyfriend of 3 years, he said he might make >> on felony probation. That's great. So, >> he is. >> Apparently, you don't know. You know him well enough to stay the night at his house and leave your kid in his house. >> Oh, Dwayne. I thought I met Bobby. I I I I knew this. >> So, you go to this guy, you don't know his house at 7:00 p.m. You're a nexus to knowing him, leaves and leaves you at a house with a guy that you don't even know if he's on probation or not or what type of person he is alone at this house with you and your daughter, which by all means is Wayne as person with serious problems. He was on felony probation. >> He told me that he had had trouble with stuff. He didn't say >> he wake up at 8:30 to say goodbye to your ex. >> Yeah. >> And that was the last time you saw your kid. >> A little bit after that. It wasn't like that exact time, but I went out to the garage and figured I have about an hour and a half to see if I could find some furniture. >> And what were you going to do with this furniture that you had to do it at 8:30 in the morning? Do you have a car? >> No. But Bobby does. And he was Bobby there. >> He was coming back to get us to take us home. >> So, you last saw your daughter at 8:30 in the morning. Went out to a garage. Was in there about >> It was more like 9:00, but I don't >> All right, we'll go with 9. >> You went You went to the garage at 9:00 in the morning. Didn't know your kid was missing for 2 hours and 20 minutes. See, I can look at my phone and find the exact time like cuz I like I just don't think I was out. But I mean, I'm not trying to argue. >> It's not about arguing. It's about trying to put these pieces together. >> I know. And I >> You also said that your ex left at or woke you up at 4:00 in the morning to leave that he was leaving. He didn't want to go. >> He said he was running. You know, he he said he was running to He was Friday. >> He went doesn't make any big difference. >> So he left at 4 in the morning to work on a chainsaw. >> No, no, he's doing that now. He left at 4 in the morning to just be vindictive and just because he was mad >> and get a you at a house with somebody you don't know. >> I mean that is I guess >> if I'm going to look at furniture whether it's on Facebook Marketplace or a friend of acquaintance I know I'm not going to some random stranger dude's house with my six-year-old daughter as a petite female that can't defend himself against Wayne that now you don't even know who he is or his history >> to stay the night at his house >> wasn't playing she >> to my six-year-old inside that house with that man. No, he was out in the garage. Oh, >> so you're all in the garage? >> Yeah. I wasn't going to look through his stuff without him there. Like, you know, like I'm not s It's I I hung out with him that night. I know some of the people like I didn't hear bad. >> I'm got I got to take a test. I don't have I didn't do anything. >> Even officers were cautious in [music] dealing with him. Yet for over 2 hours, the mother was reportedly shopping for furniture, her young daughter in a situation [music] that even the law considered unsafe. >> So then your child was inside the house for 2 hours allegedly by itself before 2 hours and 20 minutes before you even walked out to the road looking for her in which time she had enough time to get up, go around the house, realize you guys aren't around. What she says, this is not unusual that she's alone at house and she's tired of that for her to leave the house, climb over the gate and start waving down cars saying she's tired of being alone at houses. >> I've never like my I've lived with my dad now since and he would say that I've always with her when I when she was like a baby and stuff like that. Yeah, I wasn't the best person and stuff like that, but I have been trying to, you know, like and decision. But I don't know any sound adult that would go to a stranger's house that they don't know and stay the night at their house for furniture looking at furniture. We know what happens at Dwayne's house. We know what type of person he is. We know what type of people go to his house. He's not an unknown person to us. >> I don't break. I know. Like I've heard I trusted my boyfriend and I knew some of the people. He seemed really nice. >> I left you at 4:00 a.m. cuz he was in a vindictive mood. >> How long does he know Dwayne? >> I'm not the best objective. Um >> does he know Dwayne pretty well? He met him um through >> I'm not asking how he met him. I'm asking how well he knows him. >> He said he hung out with him a couple times and he said that he seemed like we might have a lot in common. >> Is your ex from the area or where is he from? >> He's from Georgia but he moved down here about 3 years ago and that's when we met and I moved down here about 5 years ago. >> Does your boyfriend frequent out here? >> I don't know. We don't we live separately now and I that's why I got the hotel room too cuz I wanted them to spend time together cuz he >> So you don't really know what the habits of your ex-boyfriend are anymore but you just trusted him to drop you off at a stranger's house. wasn't just supposed to drop me off like I trusted the fact that he would not put us in and I didn't I didn't tr I didn't think that like Dwayne didn't seem that I mean I' I've grown up in Pennsylvania everybody I know was like you know considered and they would never you know like put a child I mean it was stupid I get I get stupid I well at least the ones that I know you know like >> fact of the matter is your kid's been unsupervised for 2 and 1/2 hours on which time she's on the side of a road waving down car and you didn't know where she was sleeping inside. I do want to check. >> I understand the kids sleep. I get that. I'm well aware they are humans and they sleep. >> Yes, I'm not trying to be a >> I'm also well aware that it's six-year-old girl in a unknown environment, but I would consider a extremely unsafe house. I wouldn't even send my adult girlfriend there, let alone with my child or anybody else. >> We don't go there single officer. >> We don't go there alone. >> I would have gotten like a scary >> and as a parent, it would be in your best interest to know who eating your child around and whose house you're at. >> I never left her alone with with him, though. I mean, and I'm not saying >> she's alone inside his house with three dogs that she doesn't know. Who knows what kind of in there? >> I thought they were I thought they were out inside. I thought >> when every [music] excuse fell apart, her final explanation was looking for a friend. A claim that raises serious concerns about her credibility >> and the dogs. >> Was your kid outside? >> She was in sleeping on the couch. That's >> So, was she outside at any point? >> I guess when she came out looking for me. Yeah. I got >> She was outside for 2 hours since you've seen her. more than that actually 2 and 1 hours and 20 minutes where she could have been scooped up swept across the Valuchia County line into Crescent City or Putton County on this busy road in the rain downpour and you have no idea where she's at while you're at a probationer's house that is by all means a history of person while you're looking at furniture because you came over and spent the night at his house to look at furniture. >> I was trying to just make a friend >> and you didn't put the care of your child over making the importance of making a new friend. >> I thought you know like cuz like I said I've known people that are really dated. I known like you know like I just seemed like a like a decent guy like I wasn't going to you know I didn't or anything and then >> who rented the hotel room? >> I didn't >> for the night or for what? >> Yeah because >> So you rented it just to leave it to go stay for furniture? >> I rented it because he lives um on the golf course he works at um in a camper and he's dating some girl and she doesn't want you know like anything to do with him talking to me and I want him in her life because he is a good dad. So, I was like, "I'll rent a hotel room. We'll go swimming." And um he seemed real preoccupied and stuff. And he said about, you know, wanting to, you know, it was almost time to close. And he said that Dwayne would order pizza or something. And he wanted me to meet him. And >> you left your hotel room you paid for because you you got the hotel cuz you wanted to go swimming and have activities for your daughter and it was a safe place to sleep. >> Yeah. Well, for for them to mostly spend time cuz I can I live with her at my dad's and stuff, but um >> Don't be looked at his eyes, his eyes, and his eyes. They all have small pupils in the daytime. You have large pupils with glossy eyes. >> I smoke some of them, you know. Definitely. I said I'll take it. I've taken I smoke some and I took my club like unrescribed but that's >> You haven't taken anything else cuz DCF's on the way and they're going to probably collect your What makes more sense to me based on what I know of Dwayne is he uses. >> He said he stop. So, you even know he uses >> I thought he he didn't he didn't show any like Bobby said he didn't. I just trusted. I admit that. I trusted. >> Of course, the law doesn't tolerate any action that endures a child, including bringing one into the home of a convicted felon on probation. >> You're going to be placed under arrest for child, but DCS is going to take custody of your child today. >> Can my dad be called ticket? >> That's up to them. >> Okay. Can I give him her his number then? cuz that that's where that's where that's that's your home. >> That's that's DCS. >> What about um all my my personal belongings over there? Like I'm not >> don't know. >> Can I at least >> I'm not a moving service. I can't >> I No, I didn't say I'm just I don't >> You can Your first call will be to your boyfriend or ex-boyfriend. You can go out and get it on. >> Do you have any questions about any of that? >> Is there probably no way I can get that hunger or anything? >> I don't feel right now it's wise for you to have any contact with child cuz I have no idea what you consume or anything. >> Never ever do anything to hurt her like this. like she >> Well, she could have gotten easily kidnapped. >> I can get that then by a car. It's a pretty pretty busy road as you've seen from logging trucks and everything else >> in downpouring rain. She doesn't have shoes on. You don't have shoes on. >> I thought, you know, I thought >> I'm fully honest. I don't fully believe you were looking at furniture. >> She also hasn't eaten since last night and it's now 12:10. >> She just like I said, I let her sleep in, you know, like it's the weekend. Like I mean, >> and the only thing she had last night was a pickle. That's the only thing she ate. That's what she told me. >> That's not true. We had we stopped at McDonald's. I know my boyfriend has a receipt somewhere in the car because we just saw my ex-boyfriend. Yeah. But yeah, ex-boyfriend. >> The one that abandoned you at a house with a felony probationer that you know uses that you were in the garage for 2 and 1/2 hours looking at furniture. >> I would like to double check. I She was sleep. I didn't think she would like get up and like you know like I thought she'd come out to the garage or >> Well, we were out for a lot of things. Being charitable is not one of them. So there's there's a lot of interesting holes in this story and we can fill them. >> You know, we pretty much know what happened. It's just this roundabout circle. We're playing we had uh uh we had we had like 1:00 at night. So maybe that's what he should have known what he wanted. But he came off nice. >> All right, let's hop on out. >> Are we going to wait here till VC gets >> They can meet you at the job. >> They're seeing us. >> I don't know. Wayne to not do the proquid proquo system for stuff either. So, let's go over here. For him to give somebody something, he has to get something back over here. This patrol car. That's >> And I exchange for something or just >> No, like I just, you know, like just wanted to do it and and then I wanted to his house is a mess and I needed to make some money. So, I was like, can I come out and clean maybe and wait at a later date? And >> it's going to be in your best interest to be honest with me if you do come. >> I am. It sounds >> test positive for something. Now's the time to tell me. >> I got my medical card, which I'd have to get to show you guys. >> So, if I Yeah, I can look it up. If I look that up, is it going to tell me that you filled your prescription recently? >> Yes. >> Do you have clothes on under that? >> I have. Yeah, I have short. >> So, you were in Dwayne's >> No, this is actually my >> garage with no shoes on or anything. >> No, I I rarely wear shoes. >> All right. >> I was enjoying being in the country. >> After hours of interrogation, her excuses eventually fell apart. Authorities reported that her actions raised concerns about whether her personal choices compromised her child's safety. >> Where's that lady taking her to to Okay, there's no way I could give that lady number to call my dad cuz she's not scared anymore. >> I think I don't think your daughter's scared at all. Now, >> me and her have never been apart for a couple hours. >> Well, I know Dwayne. I know he has a history of doing what you described and that is not how it usually goes. >> I'm I'm telling the truth. Like I'm not it's it's definitely not I'm not proud of my myself but it wasn't he showed no fin and like no I've never like I've been a single parent up until I met my ex and then just until recently or since January and then I live with my dad. I don't work I hoping that like Bobby didn't like cuz I'd let him her go with Bobby in the weekend sometimes and stuff but I don't think there either. My phone was laying in there. >> Well, who's your six-year-old? She knows like the contacts in there. >> Well, she drinks bleach because he keeps it in a milk jug and you're in the Wnebago. >> I trust that she what she's >> trust the six-year-old won't make a mistake that she would know nothing about. >> Like I mean she knows about the bleach. Like she knows about the cleaning products, you know, like I have always left >> her to not find a firearm in Wayne's house. >> Assumed he didn't have one since he was on probation or something. I I >> wasn't keeping I mean >> trusted him to not have any anywhere around. >> Yeah. Or at least >> you didn't know. >> No, I'm never trusting anybody. >> A six-year-old in an unknown person's house cluttered with junk while you were out in the Winnebago and who knows what for how long. But nobody looks at the Winnebago for 2 and 1/2 hours. There's other things going on, which is fine. You're an adult. You're not like a 10-year-old girl to understand where we're coming from. >> I do. >> If you're going in there for private stuff, then somebody needs to be supervising or taking care of a six-year-old. >> No, it's not. We ended up get I ended up be like storming out because he we ended up fighting cuz I he wanted to do more stuff and I wasn't feeling it and like not getting mean or anything and was kind of mad and stuff. So I didn't think that she was no and I slept inside with her on the couch. She don't like to be, you know, away from me very we've never been away from each other really. >> According to court records, she had previous legal issues related to child and was still on probation at the time. [music] It's heartbreaking for the child who should have been loved the most yet is growing up in an environment of indifference that [music] could leave lasting emotional. >> What school is she enrolled in? >> But now elementary. She's in first grade. That's and she gets picked up at my dad. >> I sure there's like six, seven people swarmed around her that are good people. It seems >> that could have been very easy. Six, seven people that aren't good people. And lucky for you, they called us instead of just jotting off with her. And you have no idea where she's at. >> Yes. And I'm thankful. I'm embarrassed. I'm ashamed. But none of it was to ever like think that she would toot this. She's the reason I scor. >> You're on probation? >> Yes, I am. Yeah. It's the first time I've ever been in trouble doing great. >> You know, this is going to violate your probation. >> Um, what's the Is it for being >> a new arrest violation? >> I'm definitely guilty of being stupid and trusting and everything like that. But that little girl >> I'm not saying you don't care about it. >> Don't Don't mistake what I'm saying. >> I know. I'm not trying. I just Why do I trust the people? So you're on probation for child as it is. >> Yes, that was >> and here we are doing this again. >> That I admit I went to the methodone clinic. She got out, unbuckled her car seat and she could and um you know and I admit that and I've been paying for it. I've been doing great on probation. I did not like she's I I was in the you know yard. It just never that didn't seem like to me. She was she was sleeping. You know I do it at dads. problem with your child supervised when she is asleep thinking that when she is asleep you are somehow released from your parental respons but I of course not but I didn't like I know so many parents you know child's napping you go outside do some work or go in the garage or something and talk to her about that because I can't lose her you know I'm doing great I'm just I've never been in trouble for this and I didn't see it as at all like cuz she was safe she was sleeping like from But I I didn't you know like cuz the the res clinic I had I had gone in the car and I had left >> for one year and you're being arrested for the same charge again. >> I with the clinic one like when I got the car I didn't look back there to see if she was there cuz I assumed she was and I left. So I I agree with that for sure and I'm and I'm paying for that and everything. I didn't think going, you know, into a yard, you know, with the sixyear-old that I thought knew, you know, and her not was it I just I just know so many I didn't see that as I saw that debate your charge that you were found guilty of. I'm not trying to kind of pointing out to you this seems to be a pattern that is occurring. I'm no expert on relationships, but your ex with you was not happy about the intimate relationships you were having. >> He's the one that kind of set it up a little bit. [laughter] That's that's the weird thing. Definitely. I'm horrible at relationships and I just wanted I never got, you know, I just wanted to have a friend. >> I don't I don't care who I have relations with. That is up to you. If I had to guess what made him upset to leave at 4 in the morning, it's not a big leap to figure out. >> Oh, yeah. I The reason I'm going to get the hotel room is cuz his, you know, girlfriend won't let him see Juliet. And I want her to have her dad. And even [snorts] her own father, a devoted, seems to have [music] lost faith in his own daughter. >> Granddaughter was in the road. Um, >> she was along the road >> in the middle of the road. It was raining very heavy before and after we got there. She was asking for help, waving him down with her doll in her hand. >> Oh my god. >> Your daughter was at Dwayne Meek's house. >> Whose house? >> His name is Dwayne Meeks. He's a user. Um, he's ahead. >> Okay. >> House. We know him well. He's >> I thought my daughter was doing good. So, she didn't know your that your granddaughter was missing for about 3 hours. She told us that she was looking at furniture >> that she was what? >> Looking at furniture at the >> Looking at furniture. >> Yes. We had deputies go to the house, make several announcements, and no one entered the door. Okay. As she walked up to us, she also had a pipe located in her right pocket. She was under the influence of some sort of with the gravity of the situation, she's placed under arrest for child. DCF has been notified they're going to make contact with you. She is hungry. I gave her I had snacks in my car and I gave her a bottle of water. She looks very tired. She's definitely scared. >> This is just shocks the heck out of out of me. I thought my daughter is wasn't going down this road. >> But it puts us in a very cuz the problem is that if we didn't do anything, this is going to happen again. The guy she was with, she said she was slept with him. >> I didn't know she had anything to do with people on next period. >> Yes, that house is a very not a good house. The people who go there usually are there for two things. And >> yeah, the last three or four Saturdays she's been out all night. >> I'm assuming she's probably been there. That's a popular spot for people who used to go. I don't think she's in a position to care for her child. I'm pretty sure DCI is going to think the same way we do. That's why we took her into our custody and contacted them. Okay. >> I'm a Christian man. I'm a member of one church. I go to different churches and whatnot. So, I got different people. I've I was just talking to Miss K there and she said, "You're going to need help, honey, and you're going to have lots of help." >> Is there any other family nearby that you're you're a great caretaker. vacancy for her. But >> anyway, my nephew has a place down here, but he doesn't stay down here. Yeah. >> I mean, the only thing I can tell you is just give her as much love and and affection as she can that she misses her mother. She's told us several times, but at the same time, her mother's not in a position to care for her right now. >> Understandable. >> It's going to be okay. >> We got a new puppy at home. We got about her two weeks ago. >> All right. And he is trouble, isn't he? You can help me clean up the pee now. >> No. After repeatedly abandoning the child, the mother was charged with child thirdderee felony under Florida statutes carrying a maximum sentence of [music] 5 years in prison or a $5,000 fine. In addition, she's also facing a charge of violation of probation. According to the Flaggler and Valuchia first appearance bail schedule when a probationer reaffends, courts typically hold them without bond. Hopefully, after this ordeal, the mother will learn to cherish her second chance [music] to stand up, get a job, and change her life. Not for anyone else, but for Juliet, the brave little girl who survived [music] and still longs for her mother to truly come back. But the concerns didn't stop in Florida. Soon after, another troubling case surfaced in Ohio [music] where a child was discovered at a playground. >> When I ran up to her because she was talking [ __ ] so I talked my [ __ ] back. She hit me and I hit her. On April 18th, 2025, a peaceful afternoon in Canton, Ohio, suddenly turned chaotic when a 19-year-old was involved in a serious altercation with an 11-year-old at a playground. What happened in this fight? The incident [music] left the younger child requiring medical attention. Police quickly responded to the scene. What time did this car come in? >> 1500 hours. >> Knocked her unconscious. She has all recorded right here. A friend recorded the entire thing. >> Where is she? Do you know where she's at? >> What's her name? >> I don't know her now. When she's in >> the lady that did it look like black smacky assy shorts. All right, you guys do me a favor. Okay. >> Go down by our car. We'll have the medics meet you down there. Okay. >> 246. >> It's clear for medics. Uh I'm having the victim go down by my cruiser to let them know. Suspect house is going to be 1637. I'm trying to make contact now. >> Copy. Hi. Get in there, cat. >> Is this two units? >> No, it's one. >> It's one unit. >> One big one. >> So, are you the Are you the one? >> No, I'm not the one. She's the upset. So, what happened? That little girl was being her first. Like, she put her hands on Destiny first. But I understand that she's upset, but we got to talk to her. Okay. >> She won't come out. She's going to go to jail. >> Well, if she doesn't come out, we're going to get search for her and go. >> Okay. As of right now, we're just talking to people. If she hasn't come out, that's called instruction. >> All right. >> What's that, sir? >> I got to tell her, you got >> Yeah, absolutely. I know the law. I was 12 and a half years in the military. >> Okay. They know what they're talking about. They're they're Yeah. Right there. We're branch Army. All right. Yes, sir. >> Witnesses and evidence were all in place, but the main character was still missing. >> Are you if I go check out this video real quick? >> They said some lady curb stomped this kid. I guess there's a I guess there's a video. I'm trying to >> You guys got the video. I can see real quick. >> And there's a police camera at the park as well. >> You want me to go? >> Definitely. We're going to go right back. >> Them people right there weren't even over. >> Where's it happen in the video? I noticed it's pretty long. Don't need to see the whole thing, but just for medical stuff. >> No, he's talking about in the video where the start. She said, "Call the police. This is where they're provoking him to come and run the pay." Then she runs up the thing. >> Do you know these people at all or >> No. Okay. >> My daughter even told her kid was cute. >> Who's recording this? >> She ran up here and was stomping my daughter. >> That grown ass lady. >> All right. >> What stands out is Destiny's explanation. Despite being 19, she responded in a way that raised serious concerns. first during her interaction with an 11-year-old and later through remarks allegedly directed at police and the child's family. [music] And just like that, the situation escalated. Both women ended up in law. >> And she's still talking. >> Well, that's why I had them go down there. How do I spell your name? >> B S A N. >> Is your last name Scott? >> Yes. >> It's spelled normal. >> Yep. >> Was she with you? >> Who was with you? >> Her and her son and me. >> So, what happened? So, she's saying that she was running her mouth to them. They started yelling back and forth. She not her. >> How old are you? >> Uh, 19. >> The kid you? >> Yes. >> Okay. What happened after that? Where were you guys at? >> We started fighting. We was up at the park on the thing and I ran up to her because she was talking. So, I talked. She hit me right. >> How did you back? >> All I did was her in the face and started smacking her around. >> You do nothing else? >> No. >> Well, if I told you it's all on video, I have to watch it. >> So, you're going to be under arrest. Stand up and put your hand on your back. Stand up. Put your hands on your back. >> Look at her laughing and smiling and no people ARE COMING AFTER YOU. NO PEOPLE ARE COMING after you. No people are coming after you. >> I recommend not saying anything to further information. >> You need to shut the up AND TRY TO [ __ ] KILL ME TOO. >> OH, I'm in jail and you'll make sure of it. You sound so happy for yourself before I get involved. She needs to shut the up before she gets you the up. How you feel about that? >> So cute. >> And I hope your battery. >> GO AHEAD. HIT >> STOP. HEY. HEY. HEY. >> HEY. PLEASE HELP DIE. >> WHERE YOU GUYS AT? >> TAKE HOME. PLEASE call my grand. The child had been placed in the ambulance, but the real challenge was finding a legal [music] guardian. >> Yeah, she's going to get charged. >> Where's dad? >> They just went that way. Did they take the kid with them? >> I'll go see what I can find. Omar, I have three names for you whenever you're ready. >> It's unlocked. >> Brandon Brown, Armando Morris, Omar Ram. It was Armando Morris. Raondo from >> saw him walk that way, but now I can't find him. So I don't >> Dude, I didn't I just called my safety officer. >> I'm going to see if she knows his phone number to call or at least an address. As far as I know, besides mom. No. But mom, did you guys see what she did? >> Yeah. No. So this the lady we have in cuffs was talking. >> So mom decided to charge. And >> are you arresting mom? Yeah. Okay. Let me I might be able to cut her senses. But still, >> let me see what we can do with the >> We just We need dad back here. >> Yeah. >> If dad's not a part of it, we need dad back here. >> She's got to go. >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to go try to get phone number. At least see what we can do. >> Yo, blackmail. >> Yeah, we need to uh The kids got to go to the hospital, but there's no parent. >> Who's the kid? >> Her daughter. But dad and then just left. But the kids in the ambulance right now, so let me see if we can talk to mom real quick. >> Okay. >> Can you roll with the window down, please? >> I haven't added any to the notes. >> Can you roll down? >> Yeah, I got you. >> Thank you. >> Where do you guys live? Cuz your >> hand. >> Is that where your husband just went? >> Yeah, >> cuz he's going have to go with the kid. >> He just left. >> He had to take my youngest over there to my brother. >> Is that where he went? >> Yeah. >> Is that dad or boyfriend? That's my boyfriend. >> So, it's not the kid's dad? >> No, my youngest daughter's dad is deceased. >> Well, what are we going to do with your kid? Cuz your kid has to go to the hospital. >> My brother is there and he can go with her to the hospital. My grandparents will meet them there. >> Where's your brother at? >> He's at my house. >> Alman, I think that's what mom said. >> Yeah, that's the closest. I'll let them know. We got to We just got to get >> Yeah, I know. I got you. Hey, you guys got to get out of the way. >> R. >> Hey, they're they're just going they're going to Alman. >> To their [snorts] credit, Canton police responded [music] promptly. Though the suspect is only 19, she is being fully prosecuted on charges related to the incident because accountability is key to preventing future. >> Did we get the kid's name? >> Can you just get the kid's name for us? >> Or what? >> Report. >> I don't know exactly how I saw. >> So she's 19. The kid's like what? 11. >> Yeah. The kid's like 11. She says the kid slaps her. >> Okay. But she's 19. But um and then she said she hit the kid back. I asked like how you hit her back. She just kind of went like like that. And the video they're like on the top part of this park or at the playground of the slide. Yeah. And the video shows her smashing the kid's head on the floor of the the metal part where you stand on top of the slide. >> So what do you sharping? Did she hit you? I mean I got a but I don't think it was intentional. I kind of just her back cuz she wasn't running at me. She was running at her, but she still know she can't do that, right? >> So, I mean, you guys were there for it. I'm cool with just giving her a summon so she can go with her kid to the hospital. >> Okay. >> Are you able to knock that out? Do you mind just orderly? I'm sharpening. You fine with that? >> I'm fine with it. >> Like 34? Yeah. She can go to a hospital. >> Okay, sweet. >> Yeah. I was going to say I just kind of sound like the kids turned into adults being children. >> Yeah. So we were arresting we're arresting the lady cuz she was smashing the kid's head on the part. >> The kid's 11. She's 19. She said well she hit me so I was defending myself. >> You're 19. >> Yeah. And then this lady's talking to the kid's mom saying like I hope you're she I didn't really hear it. She was saying how the lady we have arrested saying I hope your kid the mom got all pissed charges at her. So I kind of pushed her against the car and like you can't do that. So, I think we're just going to give her a summon for obstructing and disorderly conduct so she can go to the hospital and we're going to take her for >> Yeah, sounds good with me. >> So, thanks. >> Hey, like I said, I'm just I'm just being nosy. >> No, that's so calm. I'm like, well, ain't nothing with a second. I'm like, that just sounds >> Thank you. Destiny Scott was charged with multiple charges including [music] felonious aggravated resisting arrest, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct and booked into Stark County Jail. These charges come in addition to previous misdemeanor and disorderly conduct charges to which she had pleaded not guilty. In court, the judge set her bond at $95,000. >> Definitely a southwest call. You need a hand getting out at all. Watch this little curve here. Have a seat on that bench. Okay. You want to add anything? >> Destiny Scott. Charles, >> are you still unemployed? >> Yeah. I take care of him. I once witnessed a mother her child in the middle of a supermarket just because the kid asked for a toy and everyone around was stunned. Children may not fully understand things yet, but adults can't use being annoyed as [music] an excuse for harsh behavior. What about you? Have you ever seen something like this? Share your story in the comments below. Do you think every call to the police is just routine? Florida will show you a different view. Mother suspected of placing her child in a situation. Yeah, I remember having a conversation about trying to sell >> on March 5th, 2025 in Palaca, Florida. Just as the day began, police received a call concerning an 18-month-old girl. At first, it seemed like nothing more than a child crying. But within minutes, troubling signs from the mother herself began to emerge. >> They were worried about the baby >> because she's throwing a tantrum. >> More they wanted to make sure the baby was okay and that you were okay. >> I'm fine. I'm trying to find emergency housing. >> Let's walk over here so we're not wrapping around big coffin. >> So, what's the situation? What uh what are you going through now? >> I'm going through a lot >> like as far as housing. Why Why are you looking for emergency housing? >> Because I had a boyfriend who used to the out of me and I don't want it around my kid. >> Lee Conley will not take me. >> Lee Connley won't take you? >> No. because it was a conflict of interest to where one of their staff members told my husband where I was. >> So, we only dealt with them and they won't take them. >> Right. >> Um >> I I'm willing to do public assistance, public housing. I'm willing to do melon manner. I don't have a ride. >> Well, I know you didn't have a license for a while cuz we had an issue with that. So, I remember that. >> If you can please help me in any way. >> Well, okay. So, I've got our victim's advocate coming out. She's going to talk. She's going to bring some stuff for the baby. >> Where? >> She'll she'll be coming over here. Um >> I'm going to be going over to the >> H&R Block. >> Well, she's coming over here. She'll be here shortly. She was getting it back together now. She was trying to figure out get information on >> I need I need I I need emergency house. >> She might be able to help you and kind of or kind of steer me in the right direction as well. Lee Connley was actually what I was going to try to recommend, but obviously that's kind of not the uh >> you know, just because a baby cries doesn't mean that they're in trouble. I'm sure you have kids. >> I do. Um I have a son and a stepdaughter. >> I'm just um I I can't even believe this. Who called? Am I allowed to go station? Am I allowed to go? >> Well, if you I've got like I said, I've got a victim coming out here that's going to turn. >> Can I sit in the car or something? I'm freezing. I don't want to sit you in the back of my car or anything and I can't put you in the front. Can let's walk over to this parking lot by my car. >> I'm breathing and I'm quite sure that we're the old people that were the ones who called. >> I'm not sure who exactly called. All I know is they called and they came in and spoke with the the staff and they kind of gave me a rundown of the situation. >> Yeah, they passed. >> Yeah. >> The conversation went on revealing more details about her living situation. >> So that's that's at least good. Um you got some food. The baby got some food. >> Yeah. So, basically what happened was, and if you want you want to know the true story, I got married, my mother signed a paper when I was 16. I became a nurse. Um, I became a business owner. At 33, I got divorced and my husband is entitled to everything I've ever owned since I was 16 years old. So, >> lean against the car if you want. It's warmer. >> Huh? >> The front of the car is warmer if you want to lean against it. So he has got control of everything since I was 16 years old. I have New Yas has exclusive possession of my bank account, my home, and my vehicles. >> What was the situation with that uh that old Crown Vic you were driving for a while, the one that was attacking? >> That was my office that he was letting me use because my husband was trying to railroad me. >> And then I know >> I'm getting another vehicle. I know we had um we had pulled you over and you were with the guy that had a warrant a little while back. Was that her dad? >> Yes. >> Is that the husband in question? >> No. >> After finding no immediate, the police left. Shortly after, a victim services officer arrived, saw that the baby was safe for the moment, and provided new clothes and diapers. The mother was also allowed to leave the scene. But the story didn't end there. The little girl suddenly appeared at the police station, accompanied by an employee from a nearby business. From that point, a series of surprising details about the mother began to unfold. >> This morning I came 7 a.m. She was the mom Jessica was laying on the AC unit and she was in the Dollar General's buggy and it was drizzling. She was asleep and the baby was in there hollering. So then I said, "Do you want me to go, you know, go to the store and get her some stuff and she can sit in here?" And she was like, "No, no, no. Do you have some money? Do you have some money?" I said, "No, ma'am. I have money to get your daughter stuff." And she was like, "No, you could just have her. You could just have her." I was like, "Ma'am." I said, "No." I said, "Do you need help? Like, do you need me to call DC so they can help you?" And she said, "No, don't worry about it." And she snatched her daughter out the top part and her in the bottom part. Then she went to Dollar General and that's I guess why they had a police report this morning for Dollar General, her throwing stuff on top of the little girl. And she came back to our job. At this point, she's yelling at the customers in there to give her money. I said, "Ma'am, you got to leave. Like, you and you have to leave now." She said, "Oh, I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving." And then she kept she went took her in the bathroom and she was hitting her. I don't know why. I don't know what she did or a child can't do anything, but I'm just saying I don't know what the reason was. She left out of there. When she left out of there, I called the police. I think the man that just came here, I waved him down the track and I said, "Could you follow me?" She's right there. and she literally pushed the um the buggy in the road and laughed about it and then hurry up and grab it. And I'm like, "Is she crazy?" So, at this point, I'm following her into Dollar General. I told my manager what I was doing. I seen the police officer. They were like, "Okay, and she's still at the store. We can charge her." And I'm like, "All the stuff she done did this, baby. We y'all should be charging for that." So, they said it was my word over hersa. Okay. She came back. I see her walking back towards our job. This was all last night. >> Some of some of this is from today. >> Yes. So, she walking past the job with some other girl and she said, "Come here. Come here cuz I trust you. Come here." So, I'm like, "Oh my god." I asked two of my co-workers to walk out with me cuz I don't know what's in somebody mind. As I walked over there, she said, "If you give me $500 right now, you can have it." I said, "Have what?" She said, "Have her." And she put her down in the leaves. And I said, "Are you serious? This At this time, the baby got up and she was getting ready to walk in the road. if you know Krill is a busy road. And I grabbed the baby and I picked her up and I said, "I'm not giving you no money." She said, "Well, just have her because it's just it's just too much for me." I said, "What is too much for you?" I said, "Do you want do you need help?" Again, I'm asking you, "Do you need help?" And she said, "No, I don't need help. I just don't want the" And I said, "Okay." And I got the baby. I was crying. I walked across the street and I tried to wipe her up and I put her in my car and I told her, "She's going to be okay. This should not go on with a child. >> The atmosphere [snorts] at the police station grew tense. Detectives were brought into piece together the entire sequence of events. >> Now, they was willing to give her the money. They was like, "Whatever it takes for her to get away." I was like, "No, we not we not enabling her." >> Yeah. I was like, "We not enabling her and we're not breaking the law for her either." >> I know your hands are tired this morning. I wasn't mad. I just I can't see how we can do this. No, I have since I talked to you, I've been trying to find a reason to arrest her. So, I was just looking for her right before you showed up here. She stole from the dollar store and I went to go arrest her and I talked to the dollar store ladies and they said I asked them. I said, "Does she have a baby with her?" And they said, "No." And that's where I was like, "Eh." And they said she was mumbling on something about she gave the baby to her sister for the weekend. And I was like, "No." Cuz when we we spoke to her earlier, she said she didn't have anyone. It it already shot up red flags. And then not even 10 minutes later, I was doing something to my car and they called and said you were here with her. And I was like, "Oh, >> thank God. I promise." >> Thank you, man. No, you're you're the hero here. >> What time did we get the shoplifting where she stole the sandals and walked out of >> That wasn't long ago. That was like maybe 30 minutes ago. >> They were black, too. I don't know. She had >> Dollar General with some sandals >> that she stole the timeline for the >> at that time. The clerks were saying that she uh cuz she didn't have the baby with her then. She was saying that she gave the baby to her sister for the weekend. >> No, I'm not saying. >> Yeah. So, I don't know if it's going to have any on her, but >> see how long she was. >> I mean, we know she didn't have a baby at that point. So, >> and she knows what time she got the baby. So, >> yeah, I had the baby at like 2:45. But >> she's still over there around somewhere. She is. She's Milwaukee. >> She could have got far. I bet she's either in the other dollar store or Burger King. >> The little girl was then placed under temporary protective supervision by DCF. And the mother after 2 days on the run, she was finally brought back to the police station. >> What's your daughter's name? >> How old is >> 18 months old. She's my world and I'm hers. >> Okay. Where is >> was supposed to be returned to me last night by 6:00 p.m. I got called by the police and told them that DCF got involved. I went to I went and filed my taxes at H&R Block. While I was there, one of the members of my church filed my taxes for me. She asked me if she could keep my daughter overnight. She said she wanted to buy her some clothes. She know I just got out of a marriage and I'm trying to get back on my feet. I just got a stable place to stay. We exchanged numbers. I told her I had to have her back by 6:00 p.m. She could only stay one night. She wanted to keep her for a week. I told her, "No way." I have five witnesses to this. Okay. The next thing I know, my I got served with a order that was stating that I am not allowed to go to H&R Block and any attempts that I made to contact her, I could not reach her. So when I called the DCF case worker yesterday, he told me that he was supposed to meet me with my daughter that for some reason he had her, which I'm not even understanding why because the the H As H&R Block employee, the one I go to church with, was supposed to be staying the night with her one night. >> Okay. And what what's the this worker that you go to church with? What's her name? >> Her name's I don't know what her legal name. I can pull up everything in my phone. I thought she was a good lady. Apparently her and my sister are working together. She's the black girl with the pink hair. >> When you don't know last name, >> to be honest with you, I'm I'm having an anxiety attack. My child just got taken from me and I'm a nurse and I could be losing everything. >> So, how long have you known? >> I've known her on and off for like 10 years. Like I said, she asked me several times. I told her multiple times, "No, I don't like my child to go anywhere." She repetitably asked me. She said, "I can help you with clothing. I can help you with diapers. Please let me help you." One of my friends was there. Her name is She said, "Jay, just get the help. You need it right now." I said, "One night only. Only one night." And when she didn't return my call, I told her that I was going to call the police and report my daughter missing if she didn't produce my child. >> After initially placing her daughter in an unsafe situation, the mother changed her account, claiming that her child had been taken without consent. I needed I needed the help. I've been going through DCF to try to get housing and stuff. Like I said, I could I could use the help with the clothes and stuff. I never asked her for money. Never. But like I said, >> Yeah. I remember having a conversation about trying to sell >> what >> I'm just No. Okay. >> I would never sell my child. Okay. >> No. Oh, I I can't even believe that was even stated. My child is my life. If I lost her, I would kill myself. I can't live without my baby. But like I said multiple times, she she came and called me over and she actually came out with three other employees and they asking me for my baby and I should have known something was up then, but I stupidly thought people still were decent human beings and trying to help somebody in need. She described [snorts] herself as caring while recounting a complicated story of her child being taken. >> I followed through on everything today. Soon as I found out all of this, I made contact with the officer. I've done everything I'm supposed to do. >> My big question is you said you called her that night and then did you call her again throughout the night? Did you call her the next day about >> Yes, I did call her. I had on my phone. >> But here's my my my my contradiction. You said that you like, you know, you're very concerned about your your daughter. We're trying to do the best for her, which I get. You know, if somebody can provide something right now that you can, there's nothing wrong with that. People helping people, right? It takes a community. It takes a village to to raise a child, right? However, here's my thing. >> I'm sorry. Can y'all can Can you please take this off? I have a bad cut and it's really hurting mom. >> We We can't take him off. Okay. But but listen, so you know, you called her that same night concerned. She said, she said, "No, I'm not returning your baby." >> No, she never said that. She never said that. She was supposed to be going to the outlet to buy my baby. >> Yeah, but you said that you called her that night and the officer left. >> But then when I got the >> the ban >> the ban, that's when I told her if she didn't produce my child at the time she said that I was going to be calling the police. >> So it wasn't like she said, "Oh, I'm not I'm not bringing it back." You were trying to reiterate, hey, we had a deadline. You better you better have her there. So it wasn't like you were asking for it right then and there. You just were asking her to keep the deadline, >> right? I said, "I appreciate what you are trying to do. I don't know why I just got banned from H&R Block. This is making me very uncomfortable at this point. Feel like something's going on more than what we've talked about. If you don't produce my child, I'm going to call police and I will report her missing." >> Gotcha. >> So, this would have been Wednesday that we hit yesterday. And before the deadline, DCF called me. The DCF case worker called me before she was even supposed to be back. and he told me he had my daughter and that he was supposed to drop her off to me at 9:00 a.m. >> You don't do you remember the DCF worker's name? >> If I could have my phone, I could give you everything you just asked for. >> At the same time, she spoke of struggles and unhealthy relationships, adding more layers of complexity to the case. >> So, you got the call from the ECF worker Wednesday morning? >> No, yesterday. >> Yeah, that's Wednesday. >> I've been crying all night. I'm sorry. I'm nervous, right? I want my baby. >> Yes. Just to reiterate, say has pink hair. >> Pink hair. >> Okay. >> I think she to be honest with you, my sister, me and her have a very bad relationship. She's had sex with my husband for years. And she actually used to open up the door and let him beat on me. She has wanted my child. She's told lies to to my entire family. I believe she sent to do that on purpose. >> And this is your sister >> because the she laughed yesterday in my face and told me I was going to be in jail at 3:00 p.m. So they said the sounds petty but it's true. >> I mean what would be the reasoning they would do that? >> Same reason she my husband she's spiteful. >> The mother was charged with three counts of child abuse and one count each of child unlawful of a child and selling or hindering a minor for money or property. Under Florida law, she could face up to 55 years in prison and fines of up to $40,000. Court records show her bond was set at $225,000. The mother in this video may have been in conflict or crisis, buting a child or putting them in unsafe situations is unacceptable and legally punishable. This is irresponsible behavior and must be held accountable under the law. But that's not all. In Illinois, some children have to grow up in an atmosphere filled with tension from constant arguments. >> [ __ ] cuz you know that's [ __ ] cuz we got it on camera. >> Crystal, IF YOU DO NOT CALM DOWN, you're going to jail. >> On April 12th, 2024 in Molen, [music] Illinois, police received an emergency call regarding a domestic conflict. The mother reported behavior from her husband, but the situation later led to both being arrested due to [music] factors involving a child. When officers arrived at the scene, the mother was already there and the father soon showed up, sparking a heated argument. >> Hello. >> Hi. What's going on? >> I just want him to get the on my crib cuz he's over here acting up, being crazy. >> Where's he at? >> He's upstairs. His name is Louise. >> Luis. >> Lu. Angel. Yes. >> Hey, Louise. >> He needs to He's intoxic. He's really intoxicating. >> Is there any uh Is there any weapons in the house? >> No weapons. >> Louise. >> I know. I can't get here. He's just acting drunk. I'm not trying to deal with it tonight cuz my kids are here and I'm not going to deal with it tonight. It was just real. He didn't put his hands on me or nothing. >> He just sitting here like yelling. >> Yeah, being a drunk. And I don't want to deal with it tonight. Nothing happened. Now he's being real quiet after I called the cops on him. He's up there with my other son. Okay. Is there anybody else up there? Just a >> No, just I'm too bad. I honestly feel like he's not even going to say nothing cuz he knows that I called the cops on his stupid ass. >> Does he live here? >> Yeah, he does. But he's acting up and I'm just not trying to deal with him. >> Does he have a place he could go? >> His aunt's house probably kind of right there by the police station. >> Hey, Louise. >> Yeah, you get the on my bro. You want to come down here and talk to me? >> What the I do. I was sleeping with my son. Now you're sleeping. >> I just heard a voice. >> You want to come down here sleeping with my son? Why is >> you want to sit there and be [ __ ] aggressive with us? >> I'm sleeping in the room. >> You were sleeping. Now you're sleeping. >> Who's downstairs? I'm sleeping. Who's downstairs? That old Angel. He's the one that told me. Who's downstairs? I'm sleeping. He's the one that woke me up. >> Okay. How about you come down here and talk to me? >> No, I ain't talking [ __ ] Suck my You come out here. He doesn't have He doesn't even have I'm sleeping with my baby. >> You're obviously intoxicated, sir. >> I'm [ __ ] sleeping with my son. >> You're sleeping. >> The only reason I woke up is he's the reason why he was like daddy. Someone's downstairs. That's what you want? >> I don't care. Like, I'm tired of you. >> Of what? I'm sleeping with my kid. Not only did the father refuse [music] to cooperate, but he also resisted and engaged in physical confrontation with law enforcement. >> You can go to jail. I don't care. That's the one you guys went down here. >> I tried to get him to come down to talk to me. He said, "Uh, come down here." Go up there. >> All of us. >> He's just yelling from us there. >> He's just intoxicated. >> Angel. >> Yeah, but they know I'm by Angel. >> Angel. >> He's about to come down. >> When do you guys know we were here? >> We've been here. >> I think you were [clears throat] like a couple buildings over. Yeah, but you guys just >> Yeah, it's been a while. >> But I'm not going to be dealing with the rock tonight. >> Does he have anywhere he can go? >> He has no Santa. I'm just not going to deal with this [ __ ] I'm not going to be [ __ ] dealing with him disrespecting my kids and acting a fool. >> Tired of this [ __ ] I'm tired of him. >> Angel, where you at? THEY REFUSED. >> WHO? >> The caller refused to provide. >> What are you going to do? What do you want to do? YOU THINK I'M NO, YOU IN MY ROOM. YOU WERE DISTURBING THE PEACE WITH MY SON. I'm sleeping with my kid. You got me OVER HERE, BUT WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO? YOU WANT TO LOCK ME UP? PUTTING me in the truck. >> THEN WHAT THE [ __ ] YOU WANT TO DO? >> I'M TRYING TO TALK. >> WHAT THE [ __ ] YOU WANT TO DO? You put your hands on you choking out, [ __ ] >> Let me get one more. Okay. >> I'm in my BED WITH MY SON. YOU WANT TO HURT ME? YOU WANT TO HURT ME? Thank you, Crystal. Thank you, Crystal. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> I'm laying in bed with my son. >> You got these IN MY OWN BED. >> IN MY OWN BED WITH MY SON. >> ANGEL, STOP. Look at me. >> We will. I got to get him first and then I will. >> Okay. Well, point. >> Give me your other hand. >> Give me your other hand. >> You chose this. I don't care. Yeah. >> Yes. Yeah. All right. So, we're not just going to let you walk on handcuffs. >> Serge, can you have him unlock his car? >> All right, bud. Have a seat. >> Can you unpack this, please? >> Have a seat. Oh, >> can I have my wallet back and phone? >> No, it's going to be on your property. Have a seat. >> No, but that's Man, that's too tight. >> All right, just give me a sec, bud. Okay. >> Even so, the authorities remained calm and handled the situation according to proper procedure. >> All right, look, man. Zer Zurgov, listen to me, okay? We're not going to have a repeat of last time, okay? We're going to let you go to the bathroom, okay? You're not going to fight us, do nothing like that. Okay? >> Nothing. Okay. >> The father was charged with child neglect without great bodily thirdderee felony, disorderly intoxication, secondderee misdemeanor, and obstructing an officer. first-degree [music] misdemeanor. Under Florida law, if convicted, he could face up to six years in prison along with fines of [music] up to $6,000. Love comes with responsibility. Even a single moment of inattention can have serious consequences for a child. Conflicting statements, poor control of the vehicle, and unclear supervision further exposed a lack of accountability. After the afternoon at the Florida park, the story of responsibility and unfolded once more. This time in Georgia, where a one-year-old boy was left without adult supervision inside a home. >> We look in the car, there's a giant empty bottle of liquor. There's marijuana. There's pills. >> On September 20th, 2024 in Valdasta, Georgia, police were called about a one-year-old boy temporarily without adult supervision. Upon arrival, they spoke with the father who shared information relevant to the situation. >> I heard somebody trying to take our baby. I'm a dad, so I said nobody to believe you. I don't know what's going on or anything. >> Yeah, they had already called us. >> Are we allowed to leave? We're just trying to make >> Yeah, you can leave. >> Hey, I hope you figured it out, man. >> Appreciate it, man. >> All right, tell me about what's going on. >> Grandmother's house. Mother of my child been living here with her grandma. She's been here and there, not really coming home. Uh, grandma texted and called me early this morning. Woke me up and said, "Uh, it's emergency." Over here, I can show you. Said, "You need to come get the baby. Emergency." Called me. And then I went ahead and head that way. She said that the baby was unattended. The grandmother got home and my 1 and 1/2year-old is in the room naked by himself. Then all of a sudden, the mom gets home and says she was barely gone to get diapers or something, but diapers in the home. There's a sleep of diapers in the car already. We look in the car, there's a giant empty bottle of liquor, there's marijuana, there's pills, there's just a lot of stuff. I don't know if she's been running around with something like that. I don't really know what to do. She was trying to take the kid and leave. Her mom has the car keys and I just was right here and I didn't know what to do. I didn't want her. She's trying to leave with my son in the car and I just don't know what's going to happen. So, I just was like, I'm just going to call y'all in the middle of trying to get custody right now. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, y'all are having like y'all are having some sort of court episode court right now trying to figure out custody and everything. >> Yes, there's a date October 20 already. >> And um I just grandma's got to go to work and leave a baby like that cuz the grandma was staying with somebody else. So, you know, it's not on her and she just when she gets home to get her things for work, she realizes he's supposed to have the baby. >> Well, what time did she call you about him being? >> 8:08. And you got here and he was still >> I got here and everyone was here. But I didn't get here till um see what time I got here. Oh, I didn't tell you. Probably got here about 30 20 30 minutes later cuz I texted her at 8:23. I'm getting off I75 exit now. So I'm pulling up at 8:28. So I got here 8:30 cuz I live in a higher. >> Okay, I got you. You got your ID on you just real quick. I know I could take him right now, but I was told to pick him up. Usually would say they allow me. We just didn't want her to him intoxicated or anything. >> Soon after the child's grandmother arrived, >> she just let the baby go with him for a visit. >> I'm sorry. What? >> For the day and calm down. >> Let me figure about Let me talk to her for a minute and figure out what's going on. You're who are on your Okay. Tell me about what happened from like from when you got here. About what happened? So you got here about what time? >> What time did we get here? >> What time did we get here? I don't even know. >> So you got here and go go from there. >> She was here and she wasn't. >> Mhm. And and he was just in the house. Was he like wandering around or was he in his room or was >> No, he's in the room with the door shut. >> Okay. Right. And she's in the she is in the car right now. >> The mother sitting in a nearby car eventually spoke up. However, she denied the father's accusations and shared the difficulties she faced in raising her child. >> Tell me about what's going on right now. Me and my mom never had the best relationship. [snorts] >> Me and my ex fiance are not together anymore. >> Um my mom came in yelling and screaming talking about I'm not in there with my son. I was in the kitchen. Like I she just spazzed. And so of course I get loud nice pass back because I don't understand why everybody's coming at me like I don't know how to take care of my kid. And she already knows that he's trying to take my child away from me. He was away from me for a whole week. Never spent the night away from him because he pressed charges against me. And I was in the hospital when he did it. My right hip is broken. My leg is all messed up. I'm not out here partying. I had him out door dashing till about 4:00 in the morning and I can pull that up. Other than that, I came in here. I put him to bed. I came out here for a diaper and some milk. And by the time I went back in there, she was losing her crap at screaming. >> And her and her friend, I don't know what they go out and do at night, but y'all should have asked the the police department about this house cuz I didn't even want to bring my kid here. I just didn't have anywhere else to bring him. I did not leave my kid. My kid goes everywhere I go. We door dash together. He goes in the store with me. >> I'm just trying to figure out what's what's going on. That's all. Everybody just wants to spazz and make me lose my child cuz she lost her kids. And of course, he's trying to present me to be this crazy person and I'm not. She even claimed that the family was trying to discredit her in order to gain custody of the child. >> You got your ID on you? >> What? >> Can you open that front door? It's in the door. Red wallet. >> In the red wallet? >> Yeah. >> This one right here? >> Yes. >> Am I going to jail? I'm still just trying to figure out what all happened. That's all I'm trying to figure out right now. As far as I know, nobody's going to deal >> thinks that I'm the piece of [ __ ] and then to call him of all people knowing that he's trying to ruin my life. I didn't get to see my son for a whole week because he put a restraining order against me. I couldn't get my son's clothes after I got my son. Like that that don't have nobody's best interest at heart. You won't even let me get the clothes off my back. >> All right. Well, give me just a second. We're going to talk for just a minute. We're going to find out what we're going to do. Right. >> Faced with conflicting statements, police had to remain impartial, examining the situation from all sides to ensure fairness. >> Ma'am, >> am I supposed to talk to anyone? >> Not right now. We're having to just go through our normal process of who all to notify and whatnot about something like this. >> I mean, how am I supposed to prove that I didn't leave it? >> I'm here. My car my car is parked all the way back against the garage. Okay. >> Like, my car has not left for another car to even come. Like I don't I'm not sure how else I'm supposed to prove that I didn't leave. >> Oh, >> okay. I'm just saying we're being told other things by other people. So, we just we talked to everybody. See what all their statements say. >> Nobody talked to me. >> Yes, she did. I watched her. I stood right there. >> While everybody else is running around, >> she talked to you and got your full statement there. >> We didn't even get home till [screaming] maybe 4:00 in the morning. So, what would I have done between 4:00 and 7 and have just been back here? Who is this now? Then my my ex fiance has a restraining order against me. So, how's he even here? Watch out, baby. I'mma pour the juice in the bottle. Hey, I'm pour it in. >> Yeah. In. In. >> Uh-oh. >> Oh, Miss Bonita. >> An unfamiliar [snorts] woman suddenly arrived at the scene to pick up the child. >> Yes, ma'am. Hey. >> Hi. Can I help you? >> She called me to come get the baby. >> Uh, we'll see about that. >> No, that's why I just came up. I don't know what's going on. She just called me. >> I got you. We're We're investigating some stuff right now. And we'll we'll see about that. Okay. >> Okay. >> You just a family friend or >> Okay. >> When police [snorts] mentioned that the case might be referred to DCFS, the mother became visibly upset during the interaction with authorities. >> She's the one that raised me when my mother left me outside to sleep. >> I got you. It's nice to have people like that you can count on. >> Especially when people like this are your mother. >> Family friends that she called to come pick up the kid. >> So, she's willing to give her >> Yeah, we'll see about that. We still might still need to get contact defects and see >> give somebody my kid >> 95 or no. >> Let's see if he's saying he wants to, but he wants to find a place for the kid first. >> Wait, wait. >> Yeah, we can kind of deflex what get them involved. He's on his way here. So, >> I'm glad. >> Mhm. >> What's going on? Please tell me what's going on. >> Okay. Cuz we're probably going to have to get defects involved. >> My kid, y'all can't just look at her history about how much she has lying to the police. >> Okay. >> Well, if if there's a way that we found out she's lying, she filled out a statement >> all the way into the driveway. >> Well, if she lied on that statement, she can get charged, too. If we can figure out that that was a lie and she falsified a police statement, she'll catch a charge, too. >> Why is this able [laughter] to happen? Um, but with defect, I would I'd probably say get it. I don't know. If you want to call Mloud and let her know that she's got a family friend she's willing for the kid to go with, that probably suffice, but you'd probably still need to make a report with defects cuz cuz they're still not safe once she gets out of out of LCJ. That she could immediately come back and have custody of them again and defects would probably say no way to that. >> No, I didn't. Notably, she appeared to feel more comfortable with the woman who had just arrived than with other family members. >> I'll say she can hold him for now, but we probably still need to notify DeFax and see if they want to come out and have any say in this before transporting her or anything. >> Said he wanted to hear back from LT first. >> All right. What do you think you apparently? Why did everybody just say something and it be true? I don't do that to nobody. >> You got you got to stop coming out. You don't want me. You don't want to upset him. We're probably going have to call defax and see if they're okay with the child going with you. But with something like this, they're probably going to have to get involved regardless. So, we might have to wait on their say so before just before being able to. >> I understand hospital. So, >> I got you. You need to understand how kind of the process goes a little bit. >> Am I going to jail? >> We're seeing about that right now. Okay. After careful review, police decided to take the mother into custody. The situation then grew more tense as she resisted police instructions. >> If we call them and they say they're okay with the child being given to you and they just wanted your information probably to contact you, would that be okay with you? >> Yeah. >> Okay, that works. >> Can you help me get him? >> Miss Bonita, can you help me get him? Huh? Can you help me get him? My my leg. >> Can I at least go change my >> It's going to be up to her. Well, right now it' be the state. >> We have statement saying otherwise. What's the name of the birthday? >> January 13th, 2023. >> Can I at least get the point? >> Go ahead and stand up for us, please. Ma'am, >> can I please go change myself? >> Please. Please. Please. >> Just go ahead and stand up for us. >> Please. I'm so ashamed of myself. I >> stand up. >> Stand up for us, >> guys. Damn. Please let me hug my baby. Please let me HUG MY BABY. PLEASE DO >> NOT do that again. You aing officer, YOU'RE CATCHING AN EXTRA CHAR. YOU THINK THAT HELPS YOUR CASE WITH YOUR KID? Say goodbye now. >> 95. >> Even after being placed in [music] the vehicle, the mother remained visibly upset, continued to uncooperate, contributing to a tense situation. We're 95. [laughter] >> Well, she tried to slap me in the face, so Just trying to put you away. [singing] That's all. But I didn't like you give a YOU DIDN'T GIVE I THOUGHT YOU LET ME GO. BUT I'll give what the >> Maybe we'll cross that bridge in a minute. You got um You mind if we clean up your knee? >> THAT CLEAN UP MY KNEE FOR WHAT? >> CUZ YOU GOT TO SCRAPE on it. >> Yeah. >> You tried to hit us. I don't give A >> SWING AT HER. >> I DON'T GIVE A >> YOU'RE TAKING MY YOU'RE TAKING my jail. SO, >> I DIDN'T >> OKAY. WELL, let's get up. Let me get you into the car. Okay. >> I didn't My >> car's right here. >> YO, SIT OUTSIDE. PORK. >> GET IN THE CAR. ME LIKE A >> GET IN THE CAR. >> Get in the car. >> Crack. >> The mother was charged with reckless conduct and obstruction of an officer and booked [music] into Loun County Jail. Under Georgia law, if convicted, she could face up to 5 years in prison. When adults face conflicts or challenges, it is important to ensure children remain safe and [music] cared for. While each may have their own reasons or justifications, above all, the safety and well-being of the child must always be the top priority. Child, that's troubling. But at least her kid had a roof overhead. The next child had only the night, the pavement, and broken glass beneath his feet. >> When your son's out at 4 in the morning in the rain, and walking along a busy road >> with no lights and has a possibility by a car >> for A.M. September 20th, 2024. Along the empty roads near Rio Bravo and Kors in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a 5-year-old boy, unable to speak, was found walking without shoes on unsafe ground. But the real concern, 2 hours later, the mother called authorities saying, "Uh, where's my son?" And just like that, the blame game began. >> No, I want to try and talk to her a little bit first. Oh, hello, Sheriff's Office. Hi. >> What's your name? >> Lea. Do you want to go inside real quick? >> No. >> No. Who else here? >> Nobody. Just me and my son. >> Just you and your son? Okay. Do you have an ID on you? >> Uh, yeah. >> Your your son is here? >> No, he's not. >> Okay. >> Just me and my son. >> Oh, you and your son do live here. Okay. real quick if anyone has one. Thank you. Thank you. >> But no, I swear that boy, he's too smart. I told the landlord that I needed a thing. They gave me like a beeper, but it doesn't work cuz the door's uneven. Can I just Let's go and check. >> My house is a mess. I'm not going to lie. I've been trying to move out. So, yeah, it's really bad. But >> what is really bad? >> My house. You can't walk nowhere. >> Do your lights work? >> Yeah. Yeah. See, like there's blankets of clothes everywhere. >> I'm sorry. It's a mess. >> Where does he sleep normally? >> He sleeps on the bed with me. >> On the bed with you. >> Yeah. >> Who sleeps back here in all these? >> He doesn't like to lay over here. >> Okay. >> In the bathroom is a clean spot. [laughter] Okay. >> Is this his room? >> Yeah. Sorry. Okay. >> Let's set back up. Um, going to come over here with me for right now. I'm going be honest, Miss Pause. I have a lot of questions for you on how this happened. >> Say, if I'm going to be honest, I sleep a little hard. I've been sensitive more when I wake up. I have to move out and I just started uh well, I started three extra classes, but right now I'm taking six. I'm not going to wait. What? >> Before you say anything else, understand that I need to ask some questions. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to have you go sit in the front seat of my car real quick. Me and you are going to talk and we're going to figure out whether your son is coming back today or not. >> If he doesn't come back to me, can he go to my mom? >> He'll go in to see what he's custom. We'll figure out if he can go to your mom. Yeah, but he'll go he'll go into state custody first. >> Can he get to We'll figure that out. We'll take him from them if they have to go if he has to go to them. But >> we'll figure that we'll figure that out. I need you to hang that up and come talk with me. >> Okay. I got to go. >> Okay. In 2005, she was born. By 2024, she was already a mother. Yes, you heard that right. 19 years old. But the problem wasn't just her age. She claimed it was because her child was very capable. >> Uh, give me like 5 10 minutes for an interview. >> Go and sit in the front passenger seat for a while. Turn off both these lights just so we can see us both. Okay, this is reported just so you know. Uh, I'm just going to make sure you know what they are. You're born in 2005. How old are you? >> I'm 19. >> You're 19 years old. So, I'm sure you've never been read your rights. Just cuz you see on TV means everyone's under arrest. >> When you read your rights, it's just because I want to ask you questions. >> It's not cuz you're under arrest, not cuz like anything like that. It's cuz I want to ask you questions. Okay. So, his right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. I talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you're being questioned. If you can afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any question. If you wish, you can decide anytime next exercise has these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand these rights? >> Yes. >> Having these rights in mind, do you want to talk with me this morning? >> Having these rights in mind, would you like to talk to me this morning? >> Yeah. Like my [laughter] wife said, my s wife is right there. I'll talk to you anytime. >> Um, so Miss P, can you just I'm going be honest with you. Your son's been out by himself >> for 2 hours. Over 2 hours. That's super concerning for me. >> Oh. Yeah, that is >> like u So can you tell me like how that would happen? Like I I really I'm really baffled. I don't know how that would happen. >> Honestly, I was sleeping. I had just woke up at like probably 5:30 and I noticed he was in the bed. So I got up. I said, "Hey, >> he was he wasn't in the bed at 5:30. I'm going to stop you there." >> No, I know. I know. But when I woke up, that's when I noticed him gone. >> Okay. >> And so him being out for 2 hours, I believe, is because I was sleeping. So I did not notice him. He's very smart and he does know how to unlock the door. He's done it multiple times for my mom. But it's it's not okay that he is gone. Like I try to like teach him not to like open the door and not to leave without me. It's just kind of hard cuz I'm trying this gentle parenting. I don't like at the most ever like even like if me I'm like okay you got to go to your room or you know it's just because my mom she was like a real harsh parent I guess. So I know likeings all the time. So sometimes I get I have a hard time like knowing what to tell him and things like that. So I do try to like teach him but it's hard cuz like when he's tired of me he'll just ignore me. I understand that that is very concerning and I'm sorry >> for I have two they want to know if they want you want to be two at the mother's 20 or where would you like to >> have to sell so please >> he's going to have to get a booster unless she can get one >> I can >> we have a person okay so >> no that is so concerning cuz I like when I was on the phone I was like I don't know how long it's been. Where is he? >> You know, I He's I honestly I have no words, but he can lock the door. I'm going to start putting that couch in front of it cuz >> Yeah, we Has he ever done this before? >> Yeah. And I'm not going to lie or anything like that. >> When's the last time this happened? >> I'm not sure. They actually He took my keys the last time, so they got to identify him, find out where he was, and called my mom. But honestly, I think it was just because I was tired. According to US statistics, over 130,000 births each year are from mothers under 20 and more than 1,700 cases are from girls aged 10 to 14. Though the trend is declining, the consequences in education, health, career, and especially parental responsibility, still lead to heartbreaking stories like the one in this video. >> Can you recount everything um yesterday? So, leading up to I want like yesterday, what you guys did during the day. Tell me >> what time you guys went to bed. Tell me up until you realized he was gone this morning. >> Okay. So, I picked him up from school at 3:00 and then I picked up my older sister Asa that I was just on the phone with and we um made Alfredo and then we relaxed at the house for a bit. I did homework. He watched TV. Tried to clean up a bit but it's not that clean. And then uh we picked up her friend from Savannah for like a midnight cruise. It was probably like 8:00 and we cruised around until like 10:00 and then I dropped them both off. I had him in his blanket and he did not have pants on if I'm going to be honest cuz he didn't have pants on when I put him in. We were fighting over that and I was like, "Okay, then you're going to be cold when we get out the car." But um I laid him down. I locked the doors. I put a TV show on Tuby for me and I went to bed. Oh, and I brushed my teeth. But that was it. That was that was it. >> Okay. What time did you guys go to sleep? probably like I probably did go to sleep at 11 or 12:30 at uh at like 9 9:30ish and then he did sleep in the car during the cruise. >> Um during [music] a normal day >> uh usually like 10 or 9:00. >> Okay. And when do you what time does he normally wake up? >> Uh we wake [clears throat] up at 6 or 7:00 in the morning uh for school. >> He goes to school. >> Yeah, he goes to daycare. >> Where what daycare does he go to? >> Uh put any unit access in the back too. >> Where's that at? >> Uh Randolph is on this way. >> Yeah, some part. >> And you're in school? >> Yeah. CNN. >> What are you going to school for at school? >> Business. >> Business. >> Um is Neo's dad involved at all? >> No. >> No. >> No. >> Has he ever been? >> No. >> Is he on the birth certificate? >> No. No. I pretty much told him I was pregnant and that I don't want to be with him and that was >> So you're the only prayer on the worst. >> Yes. >> Do you get help from anyone else? >> Uh [clears throat] my mom >> does she? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Where does she live? >> Avenue. My the sister I was on the phone with usually will come here and watch him majority of the time cuz my mom has like some anger management kind of problem. Sometimes she'll get like over stimulated and feel like he's being a little extra mad, you know. >> The result of becoming a single mother before full adulthood is often both emotional stress and financial strain. >> I'm going to have you go sit by your car for a second. I need to make some phone calls. I'm going to be completely honest with you. I I don't know what the resolution is right now because the 2 hours, especially it was raining this morning. It was cold this morning. I'm be honest, the word I'm going to use is N. It's not intentional. You didn't intentionally put your son outside. I don't believe that at all. But I do believe that you with your child today. I'm going be completely honest with you. I don't like lying to people in this past. I I believe that honesty is the best thing in these situations. And I really appreciate you being honest with me. Just cuz I'm saying you're negative doesn't mean that you're in trouble. What actually that means is maybe I need to get you a lot of resources to help you. Um >> please I've been asking my case worker for therapy for the last time. >> Who's your case worker from CFD? >> No, from YDI. >> From YDI? Well, YDI works with CFD. Okay. >> And I've been asking him for a therapist and he's just like he just been blowing me off. He's like letting my lease run to the last day and I feel like I'm going to be homeless and I can't move in back with my mom cuz she's just like she's so bipolar and she takes it all out on her kids. It's like all of our fault and I can't go back and I just need help and like the help I'm getting is not working. It really isn't. And I don't know. >> Figure something's out. Okay. I want you to go sit by your car. >> Yeah. >> Um and I will make some phone calls. >> Yeah. Please help me. But um please if you don't want him to go back, please give it to my family. So, Miss P, it's not about what I want. It's about what's the safest for your son. I I don't have a want. I don't have a bias here. It's about I do what [snorts] is safest for him. >> I just can't. >> I'm sure. >> Go hang out by your car. Let me make some phone calls. >> They stepped into the apartment like walking into a disaster zone. Clothes scattered everywhere. So messy that even finding an outfit for the child was a challenge. >> You're going to be placed under arrest for of your child. I'm going to keep your phone so we can call your mom and we can hopefully place your son with one of your family members. >> Okay. >> What do I do about school and work? >> Did I look for apartments today? >> I can't really answer that for you. We're we're kind of where we're at right now, Miss Paws. >> Okay. Is there anything like I can help with it the situation? >> Um right now >> I really do care for my son and I kind of pissed all the time. It's not a game to me. >> I hear you. And no one is saying it's a game, >> but when your son's out at 4:00 in the morning in the ring and walking along a busy road with no lights and has a possibility by a car, I take that pretty seriously. Right. >> No, I do. As soon as I woke up, if he wasn't there, I ran barefoot with no like pants on. >> Sure. >> You have anything [snorts] on you that's going to hurt, sticker, poke me, go ahead. >> Do you want your keys to go on your property? With your property? >> Um, no. Um, >> do you want to leave them here? >> Yeah. Uh, is it possible I could just keep it wherever you put my phone? >> Yeah, it'll go with you to to the jail. I'm going to lock your house. Uh, how would you like me to do that? >> So, you see the green key? It's the key next to it on the ring. >> This one? >> Yeah. >> That'll lock it. >> Yeah. It's like pop off in there and the bottom right there. >> We're going to put that in your house as well, so we don't have to throw it away. >> Let's lock that first. >> Do we want to get any groceries and shoes? >> You know what? Yeah, let's do that. I already have Irene bringing some, but let's get some of his. She's going to grab clothes for your son as well real quick. I had someone else bringing them, but it's better that we have a couple pairs for >> um I can show her where his clothes. >> We We see all his clothes. >> They're on the floor, but they're >> there's in the in the dryer or in the dresser right there. There's that little dresser. >> There's some folder right there. They should be like a three. >> A jacket, a shirt, and then maybe some >> size are these two. These might fit them. How much take those? Uh, I don't see little shoes from anywhere. >> There was some in the little corners, but >> honestly, we have these slippers right here. We'll just take these for them for now. Okay, that's the best we could do. >> Thank you. Sorry. After all [snorts] the explanations, is she someone to pity? Maybe. But using her situation to justify leaving a child outside unsupervised during the night, [music] that's not excusable. >> So, I want to know like what's going on. Did they contact any of the family members? >> They're working with them cuz I want them if we just can come and talk to you. I can't figure out all things. So, I need you to just basically let you know what we have and we what we can't. >> Okay. Cuz I like I don't know what's going on at this point. Honestly, my trust with you is not there. >> Okay. We won't explain to you that you're under arrest for what's going on with yourself. >> Okay. >> Okay. From there, we're going to figure out where you >> So, when you read me the rights in the car, was that for my arrest? Because not my rights as you put my cuffs on. >> Shouldn't you read your rights? >> Why is that? >> Before you even read your rights >> in the car, right? >> Yes. >> You just said no, that wasn't for my >> Well, you were detained. So, yeah, what's going on? I asked him. I don't know what's like. >> You'll get a chance to call back at life. Not like that. >> Okay, Miss Listen to me. You'll get a chance to call when you get booked in. I'm not going to get a chance to call right now cuz I need to do your paperwork. Okay. So, the faster we get this done, the faster you go up there and come back. >> Okay. >> Booked in. >> Yes. You're going to jail. >> Like, I don't know what it is, but I do care for my son. I do my best. >> No one said you don't care for >> No, but I'm going to jail for And right now, me and my son are going to be homeless in 2 weeks if I don't find an apartment. I'm very sorry to hear that. Like you say resources and I have a social worker that will still follow up with you. Right now my only real care is to make sure your son's taken care of and not on the road at 4 in the morning where you get the airport. >> Yes, but I just don't understand how things could have been different. I I did precautions. I tried the little alarm. I don't know if you've seen that on the door. >> And that's stuff you can say in front of your attorney or a judge when you decide to do that. Okay. But that's not something that's going to change. >> But I'm not going to see an attorney or a judge for like weeks. >> That's not true. The 19-year-old mother was charged with child abuse, a thirdderee felony held at the Metropolitan Detention Center, and faces up to 3 years in prison or a $5,000 fine under New Mexico section 30-6-1. According to rule 5 to 401 NMRA and current policy in New Mexico, the court is not allowed to set a [music] fixed bail amount. Instead, decisions must be made case by case. >> You just got to ask her a few questions. Yeah. >> This gentleman This gentleman is going to ask you a few questions. Okay. He's with CD. >> What am I going to be doing? >> Um, not anytime soon. He's going to determine if you even get to claim your mode at this point. Okay. He's just going to ask you a few questions. >> Yeah. >> Hello. >> How's it going? Jeremy at CF. What's your name? So, um, last night we went on a cruise after having dinner with his auntie. Around 9:00, we picked up one of her friends to go with us. We were just like driving around looking at the city lights. Nothing special. >> Yeah. >> We came back around 11 or 10:00 and then we pretty much went to bed. I went to bed and then by the time I woke up, my flight was couldn't find it. It did look like he tried to get on Disney the Disney app on my phone, but recently they um been picky with the password, so it's not locked by him. So, possibly he tried to watch Disney before he left. That's that's pretty much all I know. >> I'm not sure if the officer did say he might let you um contact them if he needs to, but I don't know. up to him because he said it was not going to work up to him. >> Basically, basically we're just we have to work with them so we can try to find him a safe place to go at that point. If he feels as though your mom is the best option, then at that point we're going to contact your mom. >> Yeah. This is your mom, Stephanie? >> Yes. >> Okay. I'll contact her first if she can't do it. Did you know >> he's sleeping so more than once? >> Okay. Do you uh will they be able to pass background test then? What >> will they be able to pass the background test? We have to run their background stuff. >> I think Asia will. I'm not sure about my mom. I don't know. >> Yeah, if you need to call who's she or >> she's my assistant, but she doesn't have a car. >> Okay. Well, I could I'll be able to drop the shot off [snorts] if I needed to. >> Okay. >> But yeah, she needs to call people then to get a safety monitor. >> I think that would help just she could get give me the >> He's a really shy kid. He shuts down quick. Like he he'll he he plays a bit, but he's really shy. >> He's been playing all morning. Yeah, good. Yeah, I know my son and he can entertain people for a while, but after a while he meets his own people. As soon as we go into public together, he comes straight on to me. Ultim Ultimately, we would rather him go to family and we want to make that happen. >> You know, it's it's not up to us. But, um, if anything, I'll get we'll get your phone and call your mom from that. So, that way she sees your name pop up, probably get a hold of her a little bit quicker. >> No, honestly, it'd probably go faster if I got her from the job. She me. >> Okay. >> Okay. And then if we do need to get these other numbers in, >> we'll get your phone. >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> In an age where everyone is busy, motherhood often feels like just another task squeeze between deadlines and social media. At that time, society needs to emphasize the importance of maturity and responsibility in parenting. From these two cases, it's clear that supervising young children is crucial for their safety. Whether due to carelessness, personal difficulties, or unexpected situations, [music] can still endanger children and create legal responsibilities for adults. State laws not only address violations, but also remind us that child safety is a shared responsibility of families and the community.
