Black Dodge Dakota's possibly involved in a stolen vehicle. Yeah, they're dumping it more. >> Show me your [ __ ] >> I was a passenger in that car. I begged to get out. >> And it kept stomping my foot on the gas. >> Okay. Viewing a police pursuit is extraordinarily exciting, and being in a vehicle pursuit is also very exciting. However, they are very dangerous. And while suspects feel like they can outrun a police vehicle, they can never outrun a police radio. And if you decide to run from the police and throw contraband out of the window, it doesn't matter how far you go. Eventually, there's going to be an officer somewhere down the road waiting to take you into custody. This is one of those. When you see a police vehicle parked like this in these kind of sections, usually only emergency vehicles can park there. I'm not sure if it's that way here, but there are some vehicles that are equipped that they can catch your speed both ways on different devices. >> [music] >> 725 10-3 pursuit. >> 725. >> 67 southbound approaching Uh beginning to throw speed at Black Dodge Dakota's going to be one of those possibly involved in a stolen vehicle. Last night, they >> Okay, I want to talk about this sequence cuz this is really interesting. There's a couple of things that could have occurred here. Most officers will understand this. It could be that the person drove by at a super high-rated speed, saw the police vehicle, and they're like, I am not going to slow down cuz maybe he won't have time to turn around and catch me. So, I'm going to just take off. So, when we turn around and go after a person, sometimes they too get that far ahead of us that makes it really challenging. But here's where it becomes interesting. Sometimes a person will just take off and go at a high-rated speed hoping that we won't turn around and go after them. Or if we do, that we can't catch up to them. But in this sequence, we see that it was really interesting that the trooper ends up getting behind the person, lights them up and they keep going. So they made the choice that I'm just going to keep going because they could have just pulled over but they decided to keep going. You can tell that the trooper is really sharp when I hear it on the radio he said that this was a possibly a stolen vehicle from I believe the night before. Being observant like that says a lot about the situational awareness in the trooper. So we look in here we got speed, direction of travel, the traffic conditions. He sounds very very calm. However, they're going over 100 miles an hour and his voice sounds like he's just sitting down having a conversation with someone. Really good stuff. If you look here you can see from the passenger side that they're throwing things out of the vehicle. Happens quite frequently. Any registration on the vehicle? Well, they got some sort of vanity plate on the back of it. They did have zero G David Henry at 140 on it earlier around noon. >> Outrunning the radio is nearly impossible, but people still continue to do it. >> Yeah, I got St. Francis County with the K9 unit behind me. Speed is at 105 lane one. We're still 67 northbound. We'll be passing Wye U here and passing Wye U. Very light traffic on 67 northbound passing Wye U. Speed is 92. They're staying in their lane on northbound 67 approaching Valley Mine School Road. Speed is now 97. And I got county right on me now. Two cars in the northbound. 86 you want to take over and we'll stay stay car one. 86 you want to take over and we'll stay car two. Yeah, they're dumping more. Northbound 67 we're exiting at Route B bigger. >> Okay, this is really interesting. Something that I actually learned more of watching these videos. So, this is a state trooper that's the primary in the pursuit. Behind him, there is a K9 unit, which I believe is from the county police or the local police. And now, they are two different radios. So, there's the state police dispatcher and then the county. So, the radio traffic that's coming in is from potentially two different dispatchers. And I noticed that especially with state troopers that they have to have a radio or they have to have the ability communicate with the local police and that dispatcher is completely different. multitasking that goes on in a situation like this, when you're going at such a high rate of speed, observing all the things that are going and two different radios, and he's also has the presence of mind to say, "Do you want to take primary?" Considering that this is likely a K9 unit, maybe he wants the K9 to be the primary unit or maybe talking on the radio, I'm not quite sure which primary he's talking about. And then just to say, "Maybe me being the primary unit is not ideal in the situation." Really good stuff. So, here you can see that still stuff is being thrown out the window. You broadcast that and then another unit goes and recovers that photographs where it was thrown out, so you can put the case together. So many different things happening at once and to be this calm where you sound like you're just having a conversation with someone is really good cuz I've heard officers and maybe even me myself, you just get so amped up that your voice level goes up and you're talking at a really high speed. It's just a really good to hear someone who's this calm. >> Left on B Victor. Left on B Victor. Left on B Victor from 67 well. County bound. >> Highway B Victor 879 >> 75 and Highway 364 alcohol bottle. Uh we're headed towards DeSoto westbound. >> 725 your traffic is broken to 9. >> Sunrise School Road from Highway B Victor. Sunrise School Road from Highway B Victor. >> School Road 1317 >> CR 11 to 8 left on Sunrise School westbound on Sunrise School Road. >> Southbound. Thank you. 254. >> Speed is about 50. Heading east on Sunrise School Road on E. Edwards. >> Sunrise towards E. 38th Street. >> Speed 70 still on Sunrise School Road. >> Can you check for items thrown out of the window on the E. Highway? On the E. Highway. 67 just south of E. Highway. There is items thrown out of the window. Can you check, please? >> That driver has an alcohol bottle on the floor. That's what she had. >> Alcohol bottle, not sure what was inside. >> Speed's 50 on Sunrise School Road. We're passing West on Lake Hilltop. Please notify Orange County. We're going to try to set up some more cars on the E. Highway. >> 25750 right here. >> Apple Blossom Road. >> Sunrise School Road and E. Highway. E. Highway and 6th Street. >> They just ran a stop sign here at Sunrise School and Hardee's. No traffic. >> Stop sign next to a school, things you have to take into consideration when you're considering whether to let a pursuit go on or not. I'm not sure if this is a weekend or not. Didn't look like there were any people there, but just things to think about when a pursuit is going and if your decision to decide whether to continue chasing someone. >> They are crossing the side of the road where there is no traffic. >> Sabre. >> Right on E. Edwards. We're heading northbound towards Jefferson County. Are we on Jefferson County? Heading northbound on E. >> 13373579, okay? >> Near 579, going to exit on 110, and headed south from there. >> 10-31, 10-1. >> And now we're making a left on Klondike, Klondike Road, from Highway E. Well, where does this drop out at? >> On 21. >> 10-4. >> If Klondike to E, go east on Klondike to the intersection, then go back to Highway E, and where do we go from there? Go go to Highway 21. >> 10-4, we went left and went towards Highway 21, then we're approaching I guess Charbon Drive. Charbon Drive speaks with you. >> Shout out to dispatch. She is mapping this out for him, letting him know where streets end, dead end, all kinds of good stuff. And listen, her heart rate is probably up as well, but handling this smooth as butter. Very, very good stuff. >> Dispatch 25, you haven't made it to that T intersection yet. You'll pass You'll turn onto Big Woods Trail Road, and then you'll come up on a T intersection after a 90° curve. >> 10-4, we're approaching Charbon Drive now. Just going to make a hard right turn here. >> 10-4. >> And we haven't passed a car, speeds 50. It looks like a female driver, middle occupant. Not sure if she's going to be a Ryan Gosling or Bobby Singer. >> On Klondike towards 21, stating 50, female driver. >> And we made a left onto Swartdale Road, and we're going southbound from Klondike. And we're on Big Woods Trail Road now. Uh Big Woods Trail Road, Big Woods Trail Road. >> Copy, you're right on Big Woods Trail Road. Dispatch 25, you're traveling northbound 10-9. >> Big Woods Trail Road, railroad. 10-4. >> turn. Uh I'm not sure what that road was just before. Making a left now onto >> 10-4. Big River Trail. >> Woods and Trail. Woods and Trail's going to be a dead end road. >> I concur. Yes, it is a dead end. Okay, you see Grace County in the vehicle making a left onto a dead end road at Big Woods Trail Road. >> They're about to a gate. >> THAT'S THEM. >> WELL, THEY JUST RAN THE GATE. IT'S private property now. >> ON WOODS AND TRAIL ROAD, THEY'RE ON private property now. That's them. >> I can have a secure 1327 watch for 99 full information only had a disturbance no longer in progress. Ending. Over the south Indian Glacier Road. >> 10-4. Almost to the driveway. Well, they're circling back around. >> They're going to turn around at the gate at the bottom of this road and make a left. >> I can't get through here, I don't think. >> They're going to make a left. Okay, you see Grace County still behind you? >> 10-3. >> 10-4. Wait. >> 1408 turn on final on Rudolph 21. >> I'm on Springdale Road now. I've lost sight well still northbound on Springdale Road. >> Northbound Springdale from Woodhill. >> Can you give a description of the vehicle again? >> It's a black Dodge Dakota. I think they still kept going northbound. >> 1333 579 1408 >> Did you pass it? >> 1408 1025 lost sight of the vehicle at North Springdale South Klondike. >> Well, Jefferson County's uh here. They just saw it continue northbound. They tried to flip it on her. >> Northbound Klondike >> I believe so. I'm not sure which way they went. >> Okay, sometimes that happens. They get away a little bit and then you come to a fork in the road when you're trying to follow where they went and you have a decision. Do I go right or do I go left? There is a psychological probability that many police follow, especially canine handlers will know this one because in foot pursuits it's exactly the same on which direction people go. I know a couple sit together and watch this. You guys decide what you think is the direction that people go. I don't say every single thing that I see in a video that I observe if I feel like it might compromise something that officers kind of utilize. And a lot of times you guys know it anyway. I see it in the comment section, but this is one of the ones that I'm not going to say. >> Uh might have been right. >> Jefferson County dispatch, are you clear? Are you currently advising that only your deputies are dispatched on this? >> Well, they must have went left off Klondike. I went right towards 67 or Gresham Road. >> Okay, you made a right on Klondike. You think that they made a left? >> Central, haven't caught up to them. >> Okay, 14 away, okay? >> That's affirmative. 86, I think they might have went left on Klondike. >> Yeah, I think you're right. Yeah, I think they went north. Did you have to go past him like that? >> Yeah, he waved me down. There was another car that was going after him. >> Yeah, they went left then. >> Son of a gun. >> Ranger 41 >> I just wanted to update you. Highway E, Klondike, anything there that you can tell me so I can start going that way? I told you Klondike was clear. >> So, a pursuit that goes on this long in this type of area, there are going to be several different jurisdictions because you have all these different county agencies and then the state guys as well. And so, they're just going to try to converge and bubble and find this person. So, you have a lot of different communication challenges because you have so many different agencies. >> Ranger 41, came across a deputy who was south of Primrose on Highway E, Edwards. He said they didn't see it past Primrose. >> 10-4. Did he say that they maybe turned off Primrose and kept going south? >> Well, they were on Highway E, Edwards, south of Primrose. They never saw the vehicle. >> 10-4. I'm route to that area. I believe I saw tire marks heading on Primrose. That's probably the direction they went. >> Edwards >> Yeah, Central, I'm not sure what the Ranger's saying, but I guess they might have turned around on Primrose or Highway E. >> North Bend State advising at this time. They just told us that. >> Yeah, they went down Primrose, so who knows where they went after that. >> You got 4725, would they have a plate down on the front? >> Nothing on the front. They got some sort of American flag band-aid plate on the back now. Yeah, it looks like there's tire marks on the rims, and maybe some sort of stuff leaking out. They definitely went down Primrose, so >> Primrose Lane, I got the truck up here. Primrose Lane. >> Looks like County found the truck on Primrose Lane. >> The Ford is it stationary? >> I'm not sure, I'm flipping around. >> This way. >> Primrose near where? >> Actually, he just ditched it. >> Right, 1201. >> He took a left, I believe. Left towards E. >> 1215 1214, taking a left towards E off of Primrose. >> Male driver, white male passenger. >> Can you repeat the location? >> That's clear your screen. >> Driver well, it sounds like they're backing up real easy. Are they ever >> 57 Festival. >> Southbound E 84 from Primrose. >> Southbound E 84 from Primrose. >> I am in pursuit. >> Southbound E 84 from Primrose. >> 725, we're in car two. We got car three in sequence again. >> Southbound E 84 Southbound E 84 from Primrose. Our driver's car 3251. >> Okay, we just made a left Yeah, I got one. Central private drive. >> Edwards from Primrose. >> I'm unable to give you the address if you catch me on AVL. Sorry, I'm trying to listen to the >> I'm watching two private drives, unknown numerics. >> There's a big lake right off the highway. I think they might have gone Well, now I'm at the address, too. I didn't continue across the lake dam here. I'm still at the highway. >> We're in the woods. >> That'll be the Murphy Park. >> 7250 at 9002 Highway E Edwards. 9002 Highway E Edwards. Murphy Park. >> 10-4, I'm here. Do you see any roads that might lead to a highway? >> They took a left. >> Negative. >> Through the opening to the left. >> If they come back around through, there is a dead end road. Looks like it may be in a field that will cut back to Primrose. Possibly trying to make it to E again. >> I'm at your 1846. I think they might have just run the light. >> Central, they're southbound on E. Southbound on E. I just passed them. >> Southbound on Spring 57900. Southbound E Edwards. >> Hang out. I'm southbound E Edwards. Southbound E Edwards. 579 and 7250 are pursuing. >> 7250, are you lead or is 579? >> I'm lead now. I'm trying to catch up to them southbound Highway E Edwards. 763's going to call it. No traffic. Speeds 85 mph. No traffic, speeds 85 mph southbound E Edward 88240 E Edward 88240 E Edward. Passing Crossman Road now. We do have eyes on the vehicle, still southbound E Edward. Passing 8702 E Edward 8702 E Edward. Speeds 90 mph, no traffic, no hazards moving. >> Okay, so this other screen makes a lot more sense to me now. So, this is very likely a field training officer that's in the passenger seat and then a newer officer or trooper in the driver seat. Now, his voice was incredibly calm. One would think that, okay, maybe that makes sense, he's in the passenger seat, so he's not driving, so that's why he's more calm. I can tell you as a field training officer with a new officer driving 100 mph, you're going to be much more nervous, white-knuckled to some degree cuz this has happened to me before. However, there's a some very significant responsibilities for the person that's on the passenger side. Your job is to secondarily clear everything to the right. So, anytime there's a turn being made, you can very often hear them say, "Clear right, clear right." because often the passenger side is going to look to the right to make sure that they're clear because the driving officer is not going to have that great of a perspective. The other thing is, I want to talk briefly about what's called EVOC, Emergency Vehicle Operation Class. I mean, every department has it differently and officers have to graduate from that while they're in the academy and then there's recertification on pursuit driving where you go out to a place and you drive around and many times there are multiple officers in the vehicle and you have to switch seats. That's where you learn to PIT and there's all kinds of other evasive maneuvers that you learn. It's really becoming a professional driver and EVOC is great. And on the note of field training and FTO, I was a field training officer for many years and at the end, I'm going to talk to you something specific, it's a perfect opportunity to talk to you about something specifically about field training. Good stuff. >> Yeah, put both hands on the wheel, brother. >> Just crossed the bridge. >> On the 99. Driver is >> Continuing southbound 8529 E Edward 8529 E Edward. >> Southbound E Edward entering Bon Terre city limits southbound entering Bon Terre city limits speed 55 miles per hour. We do have a Francis County deputy behind 579. Now we have a total of three right now. >> Entering city limits 1340 E Edward. >> 565 Bon Terre >> spikes at the city limits. 60 miles an hour. County units have spikes at Bon Terre city limits on highway E Edward. >> Southbound on outer lane. Southbound on outer lanes in Bon Terre. Speed 75 miles per hour, no traffic. >> Spikes are set up. Base straight through 81 East High Street for verbal day arrest 311. >> Good spike, good spike. >> Good spike. Positive spike. >> Good spike 1350. >> Still southbound on E Edward Bon Terre city limits. Speed 70 miles per hour southbound on E Edward. E Edward in Bon Terre. Still >> Turning right on 47 Avenue in Bon >> West on 47 Avenue in Bon Terre city limits. West on 47 Avenue. >> West on West 47. >> Return to the southbound Bon Terre residence West Town. >> I got all four. >> He does got tires blown tires. >> And on 47 >> He's doing 25 miles per hour. >> I found him on 47. >> He is proceeding into Prince George County there now on Westbound. >> 60 miles an hour. >> He is on Westbound on 47. >> He has two flat tires on the passenger side. >> Maple Street. >> Another flat tire right before Jefferson. >> Check out. >> He has multiple flat >> I see him now on Jefferson. >> tires. >> Both passenger side tires are flat. >> Speed is 50 miles per hour. >> All right, so we're going to do felony stop unless they flee on foot, then you can chase, but do not rush the car, pull your gun, and be ready. >> It's past the Andrew Jackson >> Proceeding West >> on 47 passing Old Cadet. >> I- >> I-47 passing Old Cadet. >> He is turning up there on the street for a second. >> Yeah, this is the backup here first. >> That's >> He has blown a whole bunch more tires. >> Hey, don't pass him. Don't pass him. >> 763, let this K9 get in front. It's going to be the white Dodge Durango. No no radio. >> 805 Central Joint Pursuit. >> 763, get towards the shoulder, let the Durango the K9 get in front. 725, we lost radio signal. >> 10-35, 10-9, okay. >> 579 get out of the way. Let this the K9 get ahead. >> Please be advised 13-52. >> That's all we're going to do. We're trying to get our K9 up around the front of the troopers. >> Dispatch, we have a verbal 10-4. >> 10-3 763. >> We lost you on radio. We don't have radio comms. 769 579 let the K9 get ahead. Let the K9 get ahead. Copy. Pull over and let this K9 get ahead. We uh we have no radio down here. >> Here at the post let me get over. Say that again. >> What's that? >> I don't know what you're talking about. >> This is 763. All right, so that's a K9. So, if they come to a stop stay clear because they're going to unleash the dog. >> Already notified. This name I just wanted them already on to us. >> I got something to tell you. I'm already about to bail. >> Looks like they're going to bail. They stopped. >> SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. GET ON THE GROUND. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. >> [screaming] >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> LET ME KNOW IF THEY'RE BACK HERE AT THE LOCATION. Looks like 47 at rear passenger door. 10-3 604 1408 vehicle stopped they're on foot. Get on the >> We saw you drop the >> I don't do that. >> You dropped >> I don't do that. Bro, >> Well, we saw it. You dropped it out the window. >> Trust me. I don't Well, I'm on video, man. >> I don't do We don't do Trust me. Trust me. >> Trust you. You ain't trusting nobody. Hey, you got to throw everything away. Okay. >> I'm a parole violator. >> What's that? >> You ain't calling my PO, are you? >> out of the car. >> Let me call my PO, please. I'm a parole violator. I'm a parole violator. >> know you are. OH, YOU HAD TO Y'ALL had to work in the morning, damn, huh? >> You what? >> You like cages or what? No, I didn't I didn't hurt nobody. >> Hurt? Yeah, I'll throw him in the cage. Go and get out. >> Yes, sir. >> In custody. Really interesting pursuit. I mean, this is in Missouri. And uh forgive me, I know some people say Missoura, some people say Missouri. I've always said Missouri, but I hear people say Missoura. Please tell me which one is right, or maybe they're both right. Lots of really interesting stuff to cover here. We see the guys in custody here. Multi-jurisdictional. It looked like several different agencies, and the job of communication is incredibly difficult. Comm is so important, and it's drilled into me from the time that I was in the Marine Corps, and you see it here. At one point, the radio challenges became so significant that it seemed like one of the officers, a field training officer, had his phone in his hand to talk on the phone because they lost radio communication for whatever reason. And he's utilizing a speaker phone to communicate with either another officer or with dispatch, which is really, really interesting. Under the circumstances, I don't know how frequently something like this happens. He directed the K9 to go primary because the K9 can deploy the dog and can you control the dog, which is likely going to be one of the better options if the suspects take off and run. So, this high this adrenaline that's going through the officers, and then we sometimes see officers rush up to vehicles when they can give commands to them from back behind cover on their own vehicles. And challenges that it create are crossfire situations where we saw in this situation we had officers on either side of the vehicle. And then we have a passenger and a driver. What if a threat is created by the driver under the circumstance? Does the officer engage with letting off rounds and then potentially hit the passenger? So these are things you got to take into consideration, especially when you can call people back. You can still be on lethal coverage of the person and give commands. It happens all the time. up creates a lot of different challenges. And then we see the other challenge. I've mentioned before sympathetic reflex. I'm going to mention it for newer viewers. Sympathetic reflex is when you attempt to perform one task with one hand and you're doing another task with another hand and unintentionally or inadvertently do that. That has happened before. This is a training firearm by the way, training tip. So let me explain to you what we see here, which is the challenges when we rush up to the vehicle and we're trying to open doors and pull latches and grab people and do things, a possibility of sympathetic reflex is very, very real. Getting them back to the vehicle, safest option. And again, we are behind cover. >> I do not I I I was a passenger in that car. I I begged to get out. >> I bet you did. >> Yeah, I mean I'm not a driver. You You What What say you taking me out of Boston? >> Bro, they were coming at me like several times. >> [laughter] >> Where's she at? >> She's in this one. And I might need to search her again cuz it was a quick in custody and >> She don't have nothing on her. >> That's cuz you didn't >> Baby, are you okay? >> Sweetheart. >> I'm so sorry. >> You're okay, baby. >> I'm really not. >> No, you're not. You're not sorry. You're not sorry. Is that right? >> First, the male suspect throws her under the bus and blames it all on her. Then when he's in front of her face, he says, "You're okay, baby." Half of what you see, none of what you hear doesn't only apply to police. That to me, I've seen that so many times and having daughters it just is really incredibly disappointing. Not only that she was in that situation with him, but then he tries to play both sides of the fence and blame her. Not very, very mature or wise behavior. >> You you call this property damage? Okay. >> You put a lot of people in harm's way. >> You got rights. >> Hey, let him let him talk. >> Hey, stop talking. >> Have you made search of him yet? >> All right. >> Search her's pockets. We've been >> I mean, all the way up here from Belgrade. I got to the county line. >> Dude, we were [music] we were setting perimeter. We had lots of cars in route, but she was so erratic and like >> I know. >> You know, we were closing in. >> What's going [snorts] on? >> Well, I was over E and Roscoe hoping thinking that they might come back that way. And then they said here, so I hauled butt all the way over here and got to the county line and I was I was waiting just up the road. >> My uh new kid was driving scared of >> Dude, I was getting ready Dude, I was terrified holding that old [ __ ] >> This is first one. >> So, that was the FTO talking about his trooper's first pursuit and he's in the passenger seat for it. Really excited to share with you at the end about this thing that I wanted to talk about when it comes to field training. >> You had no problem stopping. >> I did Like I said, unless somebody stopped me in my life. >> Took you 45 minutes to stop. >> Yeah. >> Like you wouldn't like >> And it took your tire to completely be on the rim. >> He kept shoving my foot down on the gas. >> Okay. >> Now she's throwing him under the bus. Half of what you see, none of what you hear. It applies in so many different circumstances. >> Look this old lady the old lady homeowner. >> She probably like >> Look this this deputy drove in the grass in this lady's lawn. >> I would have done the same. >> I wouldn't have done that. >> That's just good. >> That's someone's personal property. >> Now that was probably one of the most instrumental elements, especially from a learning perspective, that I saw in this video. The FTO, field training officer, is explaining that the deputy drove onto the grass of the person of the homeowner and they didn't like it. And the trooper, thinking that the FTO thought it was okay, says, "I would have done the same thing." And the FTO, stand up. Stand up, trooper. I really like it. He says, "I wouldn't have." And then the trainee responds, "I'm just kidding." Now, this is really instrumental in the fact that a training officer has on creating the culture of what new officers do. Really like that the trooper stood up for what he felt was right under the circumstances. Very good stuff. >> Excuse me, sir. I was a passenger in the vehicle that What did you I don't care. What did I do wrong? Why am I in handcuffs? What Why am I in handcuffs? Why? >> Uh well, you littered a bunch of stuff. >> I didn't litter. That was seized. I didn't I didn't >> Freaking I >> I don't touch me. I don't do >> You don't do >> No, sir. I touched it. >> Okay. >> Well, it goes through all the stuff window, though. >> I don't know what through What out the window? She That girl it's in her >> rolling. >> I find her. >> That girl Look, she hit me in my eye. >> Hey, Ronald, we're going to be in a really >> You probably hit your eye from older stuck in the >> [ __ ] Now, what am I being charged with? I was the passenger in the car that that that >> You're saying that you told her to go go go. >> Do you have my wallet Can you get my wallet and my cell phone, please? >> That's up to that officer to decide. >> I don't have your wallet or your cell phone, man. But we saw you throw >> Oh, I didn't >> Uh >> I don't do >> Ronald >> Listen here's the deal. So, uh I'm going to talk to you about this in a bit. >> Yeah. >> I'll be Right now, you're being charged with >> Okay. >> 100% >> Okay. >> So, I'll give you a chance to think about it. Uh we'll we'll uh go over this in a little bit. So, you know, we thought we saw you throw it out and then we recovered it. So, just keep that in mind. >> Okay. >> Fast forward, so again >> Yeah. >> So, uh I found your wallet. Listen listen >> I didn't do this stuff. >> Listen listen listen Listen to me. We have We'll listen to the pursuit. >> Yeah. >> They say passenger just threw a baggy out. >> Passenger went >> Okay, listen to me. Pastor threw a baggie out of passenger window. We're in that area within a few moments. I find a baggie, which would have been on the passenger side, matching description, matching the area, literally everything. So, tell me, if you were a judge or if you're a jury, do you think that this is going to stick on you? >> Uh, it may. >> Okay. Well, I'm telling you right now, those are the facts that I have. I'm not making anything up. I'm not fabricating anything. I'm not >> Okay, so that's the way I'm going to write my report, and I'm going to turn it in with you as the suspect. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. But, what I'm wanting to do with you right now is give you the opportunity to talk to me. You don't even have to admit guilt. I don't really Okay, that that case is made. >> of all, I'm I'm going to say that I'm I'm telling you now, I I request you to book prints off that bag. Cuz my baby girl opened up that window and chucked it out the window, thank you. >> Well, then I'll talk to her. >> I'm a career criminal. Okay, I'm not rolling. I know I'm dirty. I had a probate probation violation. She said she said, "I don't want you to go to jail today, baby." I said, "Well, that's on you." >> More importantly than that, where is she getting her from if you don't know? >> I I I I know where her little sources is. >> Okay. >> Yeah, I mean, you're you're cash forfeited. I done did 10 years in pet prison for cocaine. Yeah, you want you want to cop a little heads, I'll give you a couple heads, you know? But, that's how you know, I am what I am. >> You're from down here in the city? >> Uh, I get my in city. Yeah, like I got I got I've had a source for 20 years, though. Yeah, I got source I I was the most in the city. Yeah, and now I have but I don't do I I beat my I got a chronic pancreatitis. >> Gotcha. >> I I get drunk. I drink alcohol and I smoke I'll smoke a joint while they were handcuffing the city. that? I smoking a joint while they were handcuffed. I don't do I don't do No more. Does she do? Oh, yeah. That's my girl. I mean, all my hoes do. You know, I love her to death. >> So, I want to talk about something especially while we have such a good view of this the male in the front seat here. I took the certification for drug recognition. They call that a DRE, a drug recognition expert. And that jaw movement and also the grinding of the teeth, which is called bruxism, those are indicators of people who utilize a white powdery substance that rhymes with the name Seth. Now, am I suggesting that he is utilizing that? I don't know. He might do that just naturally. However, I just want to note that those movements of the jaw and the mouth and the grinding are consistent with the utilization of that substance. >> You you've been riding with that off and on with me for about 6 7 years. You know. I know what I know what I Uh she gets it from her mobile in Hillsborough. >> Hillsborough? >> Yeah. >> Okay, what's his name? >> All right, he's giving me all that till we we talk to him. I've been doing this for about 3 >> Well, it's far out. >> I was ready, man. You know how things work. >> Well, I Exactly. Exactly. You You do your job, I do mine. We on You know. I I can give you whatever. I can help you with whatever. And >> Yeah, I understand. I can talk to the prosecutor and see what they'll do. >> I mean, she obviously does about a about a quarter to a half ounce. Every couple days, you know. But and most of I think most of these hoes down here do. You know how that is. >> I know it works. >> You know. >> Yeah, I can't promise you anything. Uh what I can tell you >> I'm not asking for I ain't asking for I ain't asking nobody for nothing. >> Yeah, we work close with the prosecutors. We work We work close with the deputies, the troopers, okay? And what I can try and do >> As far as doing any case on me, I want you to pull any prints off that that's not my bag. >> So, then what this guy's talking about about this information possibly giving away and stuff like that. I mean, definitely not a person to be trusted. You saw on video the person who he claims that he's in this relationship with that he cares about. He's doing one thing in front of her and saying something behind her. There's a term in policing there's two ways to say it and for the purpose of this I'm going to call it spitting backwards. People who say they're going to give you information, they set everything up like they're going to work something and then they spit backwards because they're not really doing what it is that they say that they're going to do. So that's a term I call it spitting backwards and then there's another term that I just prefer not to use here because I've always wanted to keep this as professional as possible considering that some of the terms that police use are not necessarily friendly for certain age groups. >> She rolled down her window and shoved through a pipe down and threw it out. >> I didn't find a pipe down. >> Yeah, if she threw a pipe down there. Yeah. But if she just >> How much did she throw out? >> Just a pipe down there, babe. >> Got you. >> Yeah. It was just a pipe a pipe down there, babe. >> Cuz they saw stuff go out of the driver's side window and they saw stuff come out of the >> Really? I I I didn't know she drank. >> So it would make sense for her to throw something out of the driver's side window. >> I didn't I didn't see her throw anything. After she was tripping, she didn't know what to do and I didn't know what to tell her to do. To make your choice, you know, you know. >> Okay. >> I got a probation violation. I I've been, you know. >> So here's here's I mean getting to the nuts and bolts of what I do, okay? Find folks in your position, okay? Uh like I said, I don't promise anybody anything. I go talk to the prosecutors and say, "Hey, listen. This person gave me this amount of information. I do some background checking on it. If uh these people are good for it >> Yeah. >> then I can vouch for you that hey, the information he provided for me, everything I can tell up to this point seems like he's good. >> You got my blue phone? That the phone I just told you >> It's up there with all your belongings. >> I can you read the phone number who she got that exact >> Okay. What what town? That's where you said? >> Jonesboro. >> Okay. So that's the type of info you know, I'm throwing out hypotheticals here and and fictitious names, okay? So let's for instance say uh hey uh Billy on Smith Street sells then I go, "Hey, I know who Billy is. I know this dude's not lying to me. If I could tell the prosecutor that, and then they they can consider the fact that you're being honest with me." And you're talking to me still into your bond >> I can't I can't tell you where I'm at right now because I have no concept of time, place, or person. You know what I mean? Look at my head. I was in a major head car accident 3 years ago. It was like right shortly 3 years ago. How long have you been back on 120? I get I get people come up to me every day. They'll all What's up, Barry? And I don't know I got 12 daughters. Can't tell you one day I slept with them. I've raised and I've raised every single one of them. But look, look. I I can't grip I haven't put stuff together. I can't put things together. What I I can't tell you the girls. I got an 18-year backup. So unless I'm praying or doing whatever. >> Well, that's what I'm saying. You >> I don't have no reason to lie. At the same time, I ain't got nothing to lose, either. >> Well, at the same time, whatever info you can give me is information. I'll provide that to the prosecutor. >> Yeah, well, yeah, that game works all good, you know, whatever. But unless I know what I was on the table, that's just words. Just like Just like I tell you my words, you're just giving me words. >> Well, I'm telling you exactly exactly what I can put on the table. And what I'm telling you is exactly what I can put. I'm not going to sit here and lie to you. >> I will make sure she's all right. She's okay. I hate driving. You know, that's why she's driving now. I don't I have to pay you to drive. Handle it how you want. You stay true to yourself. And they got everybody involved in this and that. Why did they take it so serious all of a sudden? >> Why did we take it so serious? >> I really >> People running from us? >> Because Cuz they don't want to talk to you. I mean >> How do we know you didn't just murder somebody? >> Yeah, good point. Goodness. You know, if you would just pull over and talk to us, it never ends up as bad as what you think. >> So, off to jail. It looks like the driver was charged with aggravated fleeing a stop or detention. This is not official. This is an original video which is pinned. Glad I got a chance to see Missouri in action here. And it says that there was a sentence of 4 years incarceration, but it was suspended. And I don't believe there were any charges listed for the male. Again, please check out that video so you can see what they have to say about it. I don't have any of that information. Which leads to me what I wanted to talk about as far as field training. So, in field training, there is a person who's gets trained and they become a field training officer. I did that for many, many years in my career. It was one of the most fulfilling things that I did. You spend about 8 weeks with a new officer and you observe them, you evaluate, you share the safety tactics that you learn, the law, and make sure that they're doing things right. Then they go off onto what's called solo beat. 8 weeks with you, 8 weeks with another officer. It varies from department to department. And I'm not quite sure if it's actually 8-week increments. It's been some time since I was a field training officer. So, this leads me to something that's going to answer the question that a lot of people have been asking me. One of the things that I learned that was very effective when I got into the car with the new officer. Basically, what would happen is I would explain to them one of the calls that I knew that we would have. It would either be domestic related, disturbance, non-compliant person, whatever it would be. And then we would head off out of the shoot into the streets. We call it out of the shoot. We'd head off out of the shoot into the streets and handle calls. Then our call sign during the shift in Veridian would come up with one of those types of calls. And when that would occur, I would look to the trainee and say, "This is one of those." So, that's where this is one of those came from. I've taken that and transferred it over to this location. And so, that's where this is one of those comes from. A lot of people have been asking me how come I say that and where that comes from. why I say this is one of those. So, now I got to share a little bit with you. And hopefully in the Q&A I can answer some more questions.
