So, is it 87, 85, or is it 84? >> I think 87, 85. >> Not going to argue with you about that. Patrol transport Andrew back. >> In policing, we have a saying, believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. And if you decide to lie to the police on a traffic stop, we're going to figure out who you really are. And it's only going to get worse because it's going to stack up the charges. You're going to end up going to jail. And hopefully, you don't end up peeing your pants in the process. This is one of those. >> Hello. >> Hello. >> were you going? So fast. >> I'm sorry. I was trying to get home. I have my kids out there. >> Got you. Okay. >> Here, you see where it says traffic unit on the front of this patrol car? If you get pulled over by traffic, which is usually people on the motorcycles, or sometimes they're in regular vehicles, their primary function is to issue citations and get people to drive safely on the road. So, you should be on your best behavior. >> I'm sorry. >> Um So, right here, you're just going 60, okay? It's a 35-mph zone. I was trying to track cars going downhill. >> It's my >> You drive me going uphill, okay? We'll make this super quick, all right? >> So, he said he was tracking cars going downhill cuz people pick up speed. She was going uphill and was blown over the speed limit. >> All right, you got license registration here? >> to uh type my name in. I don't have it on me. >> Okay. >> It's Tiawana Lewis. >> How do you spell your first name there? >> T I A >> T I A >> W A >> W A >> N N A >> N N A >> Lewis >> Is that L E W I S? I guess. >> Yes. Yes, sir. >> And what's your birthday, Tiawana? >> 08 >> Mhm. >> 13 >> Okay. >> 84 >> All right. And then do you have the registration or insurance or anything on you? >> It's 85. I'm sorry. >> You don't know your birthday? >> Huh? >> You don't know your birthday? >> I'm sorry. I got it confused. >> The people don't get their birthday confused. Is that your actual >> It's No, it's 85. Yes. Um 7 7 >> What's your social? >> I don't know that. Thank you. >> You know the last four of your social? >> Um I don't. >> Uh do you have insurance or registration or anything on the car? >> Um let me see my phone. My purse. >> At this point, many officers are going to ask the person to step out of the vehicle. This is what's called the name game. She fudged the birthday. She was really super slow about giving the information. She doesn't have her driver license on her. Every indication is that she's not giving the proper information. The officer's tracking that. But in my opinion, a safer practice at that point to get that person out of the vehicle, back to our patrol vehicle, and conduct our business with them standing in front of our patrol vehicle, watching the other person that's sitting inside the car. This is our office. This is our safest [music] place when we're in the field interacting with people. >> I don't have my license. >> Do you have the insurance or anything on you? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. All right, Ms. Lewis, just give me 1 second, okay? I'll be right back with you. We have young lady here that pulled over for speeding Does she have a social? >> How old is she? >> Claiming to be And she doesn't know her social. >> All good questions. All right, dear. I'm going to have you step out of the car, okay? >> Why? >> We're going to figure out who you are. Okay? If it's just that you're barred or something, this isn't a huge deal. >> barred. >> Why you give me a fake name? >> I'm not. >> Okay. You got anything dumb on you? >> You can check me. I have nothing on none on me. I don't have no clothes on. >> Okay. >> There's no reason to >> Come back here to my car quick. >> Okay. >> Going to get her information. Okay, so here's the deal. If you look the back of her pants, it looks like she peed her pants. Most times when I've encountered people who've peed their pants, it's usually because they're drinking too too But in this kind of situation, where she's lying like that or she is giving false information, I've had people who literally pee their pants because they're so nervous or it could be a combination of both. But it would be something to definitely key in on that she peed her pants. So, spell your first name for me. >> T I A W A N N A >> Okay. So, the Tiawana Lewis that we have, who you told me the birthday was What was her birthday again? >> Uh 8 13 87 >> Okay. Now, so is it 87, 85 or is it 84? What you told me first. >> said 84. >> Yes, she did. One of the point I'd like to make is the officer's positioning, in my opinion, it's a much safer position for the officer to be where she's standing and for her to be in front of the car. So, he's watching not only her and interacting with her and has the vehicle in front of him, but also has an eye on the passenger who's inside the vehicle. These habits of turning our back to vehicle is just not a good practice in my opinion. >> You told me 84 first and then you told me >> 87 85. >> going to argue with you. >> You don't have to. >> Cuz we have it all on body cam. >> It's fine. We can go >> What What kind of almost 40-year-old doesn't know their birthday, doesn't know how to spell their first name, and doesn't know their social? >> never said they didn't know my birthday. >> Well, you got it on tape multiple times now. So, >> Okay. Well, we're on body cam, so we can see it. So, can we go back to that? >> Go back to what you said I said? >> Whatever you said I said. >> You just literally just said >> But you said that we have an 87 I said 87 85. But you said that I said 84. >> I'm not a good liar. >> Oh. >> Are you getting in the car here? So, she said, like I said, said her name was Tiawana Lewis. She spelled the first name wrong. She can't remember what year her birthday is, doesn't know her social. All that's All the things that add up. The driver the actual Tiana Lewis's, they do resemble each other and that's why she probably uses that name all the time. >> Can you roll down the window? What's your name? >> Uh for I'm a I'm a minor. You can't talk to me. >> Huh? >> I'm a minor. >> Yeah, but we need to know who you think the car too. I just asked you for your name. I did not ask if you're breaking a law. Did I ask if you're breaking a law? How old are you? >> 13. >> 13? Wow. What's your Is that your mom? >> Mhm. >> Your sister? >> My cousin. >> How old is she? Can you call your mom to come pick you up? >> Yeah. >> How far do you live from here? >> Uh I live far, but I can call my sister. >> How How far is your sister? >> My cousin is coming right now. >> From where? >> Uh her house. >> How far is it? >> Huh? >> How far is it? >> 10 minutes. >> 10 minutes, okay. All right, we can wait. Are you mom? >> Yes, I am. >> Hello. Uh my name is Officer Catman. I'm with the Demoine Police Department. So, they're pulled over. Um the driver was going 60 in a 35, okay? So, not safe speeds and then they almost ran a red light and crashed into another car. The other car had to come to a full stop and honk at them. Do you know who the driver of this car is? >> I I don't even know who he's with. >> Okay. >> He should have been at our cousin's house. >> He He was talking to me. >> I was with my sister Tasia. She was taking me to the store. Well, she was >> So, is it Tasia or Keisha? Cuz now we got three names. No, my cousin is coming. My cousin So, this is Keisha in the back of my car? >> No. >> So, who's in the back of my car? >> I don't I don't know her real name, but >> So, why'd you just give me Why'd you just give me a key If you want to play these games, you can go to juvie, too. >> is Kay Keisha. >> You literally just told me her name is Keisha. >> No, I didn't say her name is Keisha. >> Then who's Tiana? Cuz now you're getting Now you're giving me two names. >> I said her name is Tasia. That's what she go by. car? That's what I know. Yeah. Don't play these are dumb games. >> Hello. >> Yeah, who am I speaking to? >> Yeah, Danielle Gross. I can't That car is in my name. I can't come get my car. I'm a licensed driver. >> You're a licensed driver. Who did you give your car to drive? >> I gave my car to Quana to drive. >> Who? >> Quana. >> What's the last name of Quana? Does she have a driver's license? >> Oh, yes, she should. I don't know if she has a driver's license, but I let her drive the car to the store or something. I let her use the car. I need to get my car, though. >> Yeah, but go get it. If she doesn't have a driver's license, you're going to have a license I mean a ticket, too, for that. For giving somebody who's not licensed to drive. >> Okay, that's fine, but I need to pick up my car. >> Okay, you can come over here and we can figure it out. >> Okay, I'm coming. I'm coming to get him and the car. Thank you. >> All right. You're only 13, man. Why don't you know why you're getting into the point of lying? Like who owns the car, like? >> I don't get it, like you know what I mean? Like you're getting involved, like you're 13. Like why would you want to get involved in lying? >> lie. I don't. >> If I never see Quana again, you didn't do anything wrong. It's just what it is, right? >> What I notice here is this officer here has a fairly thick African accent, and he has a really good command of vocabulary, but radios distort our voices even if you speak very clear English. It's an officer safety thing. My one thing that I would say is when he's calling out streets, are they able to understand him? And if they are, great. An officer safety thing for him to focus on is maybe working on making sure that everyone understands exactly what he's saying on his squad. He knows his stuff. He's interacting well with the person, but I call them like I see them, and that's for me, officer safety. I want him to go home the end of his shift. >> Change of plans. Um we're not going to impound for now. Sorry. >> All right. You come out. >> Who is the owner of the car? >> Yeah. >> The car that the car that behind you. >> [snorts] >> This is my sister's car. >> But it's not your car? >> What was that? >> It's not your car? >> Yeah, it is, but she was Hold on. Give me your >> Let me see what you got. Is you? >> Yeah. >> What's the name of the driver's name? >> Excuse me? >> What's the person was driving? >> Um I I'm not sure. I'm not even sure what happened. >> Okay. So you're not getting the car until the person who is registered to the vehicle comes around. >> Who is that? >> The person who owns the vehicle needs to come and get the car. Not you. >> It is me. What do you mean? >> I'm sorry. >> You don't know who was driving the vehicle. >> The person who was arrested >> was driving the vehicle. >> Asia? >> That's not what she gave us a name. She said she's 40 years old. She doesn't look like 40. We both know how we we look like when we are 40, right? So here's the deal. Right? Somebody gave somebody who doesn't have a driver's license to drive this vehicle. That person who gave the person to drive this vehicle, I'm assuming it's the owner, needs to get a ticket for giving somebody who has no license to drive to drive the vehicle. You're not the owner of the vehicle. You cannot get a ticket because you're not the one who owns the vehicle. You see where we are? >> Yeah, I I am. >> You're the owner of the vehicle? >> Yeah, I'll take the >> No, it's it's not taking the vehicle for somebody. It could be the owner of the vehicle. >> Yeah, I understand. >> So if I go run your name, it shows that you own this vehicle. >> Well, how are you going to >> We go to run the computer. It's going to show us who owns the vehicle. >> No, I'm not. >> Do you see where you're putting me at? You're putting me to give a card that doesn't I don't even know belongs to them. She was going to get a ticket and go home. She refused to give us a name, so she's going to go to jail for interfering. The person who gave her the car knowing that they didn't have a license needs to get a ticket. And you're not the one who gave her the vehicle though you're not the person who did the crime. The person who did the crime is the one who did it. >> How are you able to say that if I >> You're not the registered owner of the vehicle. It's the registered owner of the vehicle who is responsible for his vehicle. How do I back? >> Thank you. >> So your sister coming to get it or >> Um uh it's in my mom's name. I'm not able to get the My mom's not able to come. >> Okay, let me >> That's why I came. >> I'm going to go run this real quick and I'll let you know. I'll talk to my partner real quick to see if he can let you out. He's not even the registered owner of the vehicle either. You know you're supposed to have a SR-22 to drive too, right? Insurance. >> Excuse me? >> SR-22? Like there's a restriction on your driver's license? >> That hasn't been required since 20 2021. >> It's still required on it. >> I I have I have paid >> We let you We let you take the car, but you are required to have it. So next time somebody stops you, they may give you a ticket for it. >> I understand. Thank you very much. I just >> if you know you already paid for it, don't worry about it. But if you get stopped and you get a ticket when I already told you, you know, I'm just like the Bible. The Bible preaches the gospel. >> But this is new to me because I like I said I paid it off, so I shouldn't have it. >> Okay. >> They shouldn't require it, but I'll I'll have to contact them to get it fixed. >> Yeah. >> Are the car keys in here? Thank you very much. >> You knew I had it in my my hand, didn't you? You had already seen it. >> being funny. >> You had already seen it. Have a good day. >> Thank you. You as well. >> I'm off duty and I'm going to give you a ride up to PCJ. We'll have our fun with you, please. >> They They have the paddy wagon now like they're going to take her, so >> You have our fun with you, please. >> Yeah, he he just picked he just came here. I'm trying He's trying to get out the car and I don't want him to have to like grab her. So, hey, just get out the car, bro. >> All right. >> Yeah, don't don't resist. Don't Yeah, don't resist. Your mama said don't resist. >> What do you mean? >> She said >> I don't care, bro. >> Y'all pissing me off. Stop talking. >> I don't care what I'm doing. >> Okay. I stop talking to her. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Especially >> Calm down. You >> No, I don't care. >> job. Just calm down. But that's going to make it worse. >> That's making it worse. >> I don't care. >> It's okay. >> I don't care. >> It's okay. >> I don't care. >> okay. >> Can you make him stop talking? >> Calm down, bro. >> And he straight up wants to talk to me with her. >> Just do what you got to do. >> Ain't no do what I got >> It's okay. I mean, it's too late now. We can't do nothing about it. Like >> Hey, so can you do us a favor here? So, obviously, when she goes to jail I got to figure out exactly what you're talking about. So what's done is done. We need to know for him so I can speed up his process. Do you know what's her exact spelling of first and last name and address? >> Hold on one second. Hold on, mom. Somebody calling me. One second. Hello. Yeah. Girl, I'm sitting right here talking to him. I think he had to get her out the car cuz she was peeing on herself all type of [ __ ] Yeah, she's going to jail, bro. She's going to jail. She was going to get a ticket. >> Write it? >> She was going to get a ticket. She never called out. She said she never called a male physically touched a female. >> wouldn't give them the real name or whatever. So But I mean, she They were going to book her in as Jane Doe. So, it's It's what's done is done. >> What's her What's her birthday? >> I can't say. It's tomorrow. So, what's today? >> It's tomorrow? It's the 25th? >> Yes. >> Do you know how old she is? >> I think she's going to be 21. >> T A Y S I A. You'll be 21? >> Yeah, I'll be 21. >> And her birthday? She claimed she was 40. You check this >> you know you can't see, right? >> T A Y S I A Last name Lewis, L E W I S. She said she should be 21 tomorrow. Ooh, I hear a ding, bud. Did her friend come through? >> So, when we run people, sometimes it's a ding, sometimes it's a beep. Our computer start beeping when wants or things come back on the computer. So, usually you can run a person, you're look away, doing something else, all of a sudden you hear a bunch of beeping. A lot of times that means that there's a warrant that popped up on the computer screen. >> She sounds like one of the somebody. >> Somebody? >> The Lewis, whatever. I don't know if they're following her. >> I don't know if I'd go that far. >> Do you remember that girl, though? >> I Yeah. >> And then she was running away. I don't know. >> All right, well, we'll find out. >> Unless she's never been >> How does this usually work? She So, will they call me if she has like warrants? >> Yeah, so if they're not in the system, then they have to do the prints through the through the FBI, and that could take uh 40 or 3 or hours. So, let's leave her as this for now. >> And then you have to go back and edit it and stuff, so will they let me know like if she has warrants and stuff? >> Will they let you know or us know? I can pass along your information if you want them to contact you directly. >> Yeah, but I'll probably be working until like 2:30 this morning. >> That's fine. I'll have them do that. Whether they follow or not, I don't know. But, that's start. >> Kiwana Lewis. >> Cuz you know she's got something. >> So, how these bookings go if a person doesn't give their real information and the officers can't find them. What happens is they get booked in as a Jane or a John Doe, and then they fingerprint until they can figure out who they really are. But, the really messed up thing about doing that is that the person usually has a warrant, so they're going to get booked on the warrant once we find out who their real name is, and you have to sit in jail for the period of time that extends the time to figure out who you really are. So, you're cutting off your nose to spite your face by not giving your real name cuz eventually they got to find out who you are. They never let anyone walk away until you're identified. >> She's actually nice when I first went up there, but then when I called her back she says that her name's Tijuana. She gave me the spelling with two N's. And then she gave me a birthday of 4/18 of She goes, "4/18 of 1984." Her 1985. So, you don't know your birthday? >> That's her mother. >> I come back here and I run it. She spelled Tijuana wrong. And the birthday is 1987. So, it's all my junk. She obviously doesn't know her social or anything, so that I >> Oh, of course not. Uh she's really got to pee. >> Well, she already peed. >> Sounds like she already did, so But she didn't pee She didn't already pee in the car. >> She won't get any wetter. So, I had If she wants to give us her real name and and birthday, then I can expedite this. >> So, we saw the interference charge. We saw the traffic infractions that the officer initially went to stop her for, which she's likely going to be charged for. If you loan someone your car in most jurisdictions, you are required to only loan your car to a person who's a licensed driver. You're liable civilly, and you can be liable by receiving a citation for allowing an unlicensed person to drive. So, this young lady just placed herself in a horrific position, and the passenger of the car as well. Share this video with someone who's young or who potentially loan their car to someone who's not licensed because they need to know that it's not going to end well. And lying to the police is never going to end well if you give a fake name once you're in custody. Like the video. Subscribe to the channel.
