Have you ever heard the B- word from anybody else or just your mom? >> Only my two moms cuz my dad died when I was 2 years old. >> And the mother. She still refuses to cooperate. Amplified by the barking dogs make the scene even more tense. >> I'm sorry. >> You're fun. >> I'm sorry. >> You said another officer was here. When were they here? >> Yes, sure they had. What were they here for? >> Can you please like a little bit? I know I'm short. My big girl. I >> They were here for a Who? >> I I'm trying to wonder. I just got stitches. So, I'm really really hurt. And >> what? How did you get What did you do? >> I work at County Shop. >> Okay. >> We got lots of big dogs. >> Okay. >> This I don't know what else to say. Do you have your driver's license or ID? Some kind of ID. >> I can give you all and Yeah, I have inside. >> Okay. Can you step in and grab it for me? >> Yep. I want my child. >> Your child is fine. Please don't. >> Okay, I'll step back over here so you can get her. >> Please. No. I got it. I got it, sir. I'm so sorry. >> Okay. Where's your driver's license at? freaking me out. I I'm having a heart attack, I think. I'm sorry. I don't get my child. Can't believe >> hang out right here. She's not going anywhere. I'll be right back with you. Okay. >> Haley kept revealing from how she comforted herself to her mom using substances and finally choked up. I don't feel safe with my mom. >> No, you can stay right there. She's fine. >> I'm good. >> I love you. >> I love you, too. >> Staying warm in here. >> Uh-huh. >> What do you got right here? It's a Hucky Lucky from Hockey. If you look it up, it's a bad game, but there's a lot of cool things about it like on YouTube. And I really like it. And I like Hucky Lucky the most cuz he's so furry. >> Oh. >> And warm. He keeps my little hands warm. >> Any marks or anything on you? >> Can I see your arms? You're not hurting anywhere? >> Uh-uh. But my toe is cuz last night when I got my TV out cuz I accidentally spelled a cuss word. I didn't even know the little cord to put the TV in. Got my toe. That's the only thing that >> Can I see this arm real quick? Not any >> not any visible. >> Hi. Can you check Huggy? >> Can I check Huggy? You bet. Oh, nothing on the legs. >> He only has tummy hand over your mouth. >> Yeah. >> Can I have my dog, Bella? >> We'll We'll see about Bella in just a minute. Okay. We just want you to stay warm. >> Are you a girl? >> Mhm. >> You're actually a girl? >> Mhm. I just like my hair short. Oh, that's the same with my other mom and my dad at 2 years old. Um, I do have a really special picture of in my room and I really really love it cuz I don't know if cuz it makes me feel emotional like feel calm. >> It does. What's it a picture of? >> It's of my brother, my dad. >> She stated no. Here's the uh mother's ID. My mother badly. >> So with me in my mom's belly, but um a long long time ago before I was born, she had >> and she does do and she does smoke Green Eagle. >> Oh, >> CPS already came twice. Like once at the school, once here, and I'm really scared. >> We're here now, so you should feel safe. We'll make sure you're okay. All right. But do you know who Gigi is? My aunt. >> Uh-uh. Who is your Gigi? >> She's my aunt and I and my and I meant to go over there tonight. So, can you drive me there? I'll >> Does guide you? >> Um, does Gigi work here? >> She doesn't work. >> Oh, >> I'll guide you. >> You know what her name is? >> Mhm. Jennifer. >> Jennifer. >> But, um, can I guide you to her house? >> Let him just stay on the phone for a few more minutes and we'll be able to talk more about it. >> I'm meant to be at my genie cuz my mom It was really unsafe. I am shivering. >> Seeing this, the police tried their best to reassure her, keeping her calm and safe. >> Honey, are you hurting anywhere? >> My toe. Cuz I told you about that. >> She's not hurting anywhere. But she did say that her mom used to have her mom does and smokes a lot of green eagles. >> Fourth of July. Um, sometimes on a different car I'm allowed to like do this to look at. >> Oh. To look at the fireworks. >> Sometimes we do fireworks like last year. I like doing fireworks. They're fun. Especially the ones that go way up and they make all those pretty colors. >> Yeah. But I get like by ear. >> Yeah. They're really hard. >> I'm allowed to show up on the roof. >> Yep. I did that when I was a kid, too. My mom and dad would take me and I'd be able to sit up there and just be able to watch all the fireworks. >> I didn't have any dinner. I did have breakfast and lunch at school, but no dinner. >> I do do homework. I do do >> you silly. I do homework and I do a lot of school work. I am really flexible. Watch this. >> Wait, >> are you a cheerleader? >> No, I wish I was, but I I'm just I'm just tired today. >> She says she hasn't had dinner at all right now. >> Hey, are you cold? Do you want me to turn the heater on for you? >> Uh-huh. >> All right, we'll turn the heater on and you can have a seat in that beautiful front seat right there. Okay. And then we'll shut the door to where the heat will stay in and me and my partner have to talk about a couple things real quick. Okay. Wait, do you have anything in here that I could at least have a snack on? Cuz >> we'll make sure >> we will make sure you have something to eat, baby. I promise. >> Cuz I feel really sick. And I think it's because um I haven't ate. But I have a um marshmallows and cotton candy. >> Turn your feet right over that way here. Look, I'll even turn this light on for you so you don't get scared. Okay, look. I got something for you. Look at this. >> It's like one of those you squeeze. >> I know. >> There you go. Hey, look. If it was >> even got you a sticker right there. You want one for your >> Uhhuh. I would like him. >> You want him to have one? >> Uhhuh. This if this this is pretty good. His hat like >> No, he can have a He can have a sticker, too. >> Do you have a phone? Like I could have a little video. >> Not yet. We shouldn't be much longer. Okay. And then we'll take you We'll take you to your aunts. Is that what you said you wanted to go? >> Uh-huh. >> I'll guide you the way. >> Okay. >> I'll show you where it is. It is kind of at the edge of the town. Okay. >> But the mother's lack of sobriety, combined with Haley's relentless accusations, pushed the police to their limit, forcing them to make an arrest. >> Hey, quick question. What year was Haley born? >> 66. >> Presby, I just I I I I don't know why. Oh, I didn't have anything. It's just my >> This is my baby. Please. He's going with y'all. >> Yes. >> Why? >> Go ahead and stand up for me. >> Whoa. >> Stand up. Because stand up. I'm telling you to stand up. >> Yes, sir. But why? >> Because you're under arrest. Stand up. >> What did I do to my baby? >> Stand up. >> For real, though. >> For real? Turn around. >> Are we for Can I get >> No. >> What did I do? Are we for real right now? >> Isn't hard. >> Well, it's a freaking hard. What's going on? >> What's up? Long time no see. >> What's going on? What is going on? Please, what is going on? Please, I'm not going to try and get Please tell me. >> Cussy. >> Yeah. You want this purse to go with you, >> ma'am? What is going on? >> Do you want this purse to go with you? >> What is going on? >> I just told you you're under arrest >> for >> child arangement. >> I'm sorry. What? >> You heard me. Do you want your purse to go with you? Quit pulling away from me. >> My child. How did I hurt my >> Come on. Let's go to the >> How did I hurt my child? I only have socks. Oh my gosh. Oh my my What are we doing? >> Stop pulling away from us. >> I only have socks. >> I don't give a what you have. >> Go you. Okay, I will. >> Oh, I bet you will. >> Quit grabbing me. Don't you ever grab me. >> Oh, hell no. Stand up against the car. I got >> Relax. >> Look at this. I got stitches. You going to slam me >> because you're trying to grab my genitals. That's why. >> Get in the car. >> Get in the car. All right, you're catching. All right, you just caught another charge. >> All right, come on. Let's go. Come on. Even while being escorted to the station, she continued to resist fiercely, leaving the police no choice but to use a restraint mask to ensure everyone's safety. >> You don't want to lose your job, sir. >> I'm not worried about that. >> You should be by the way you pick me up. >> Cuz you resisted me. >> I never once resisted. I got everything on my arms. >> Okay, >> I'll take this to court. >> That's fine. I'll be there. We'll see you there. >> No, you won't. [ __ ] transfer your [ __ ] Is that a threat, too? >> No sir, it ain't. How dare you do me with my child? What's your issue? You got like an issue against me or something? >> I don't even know you until just now. >> So, what's up then? What's up? >> It's my baby girl. Her father's dead. Sir, >> I never hurt my child. >> Go ahead and start sliding back this way. Move your feet this way. >> I never hurt myself. What are y'all doing? >> Grab on. And I always get by men. >> Well, I'm a woman, so >> I know. Don't worry. I'm grabbing. I like it. You got something, huh? Let go yet. You want to let go yet? Let go of my heart. >> Stand right there and do not move. >> Stand in that wall and face it. Don't move away from it. >> Oh, so y'all can break a mother's face. >> Face the wall. Okay. You just got another assault on a peace officer is what you just got. Yo, just face. >> Get a spit, man. My face is just spit. >> Will you hear me? I think it's on my whole [ __ ] right there. >> My face has been smashed and I'm still >> Thanks. >> I mean, Chared up, bro. >> Three now. >> Are you Wow. >> All felonies. >> Are you face wall? >> Are you for real, though? >> Yeah, he's for real. >> What the Ow! What the >> It doesn't even hurt. It is. >> What the was that on my face? >> Spit mass. It didn't spit. >> Uh, is this really necessary? >> Yes, it is. >> You stand there with your mouth open. But yeah, it is. >> No, we put your clothes on and then you're going to put this back on. You do not spit on us. >> The mother was arrested and held on charges of criminal mischief, child abmentment, or endangerment, and aggravated assault. Under Texas law, if convicted, she could face fines exceeding $22,000. This video serves as a reminder. Children are innocent, yet they bear the full consequences of adult decisions. The way we live today is shaping the fate of the next generation. Haley's cries in Texas hadn't even faded when in Florida, two more children were left abandoned in their own home. >> You said something about a and her mother or something like that. >> On January 20th, 2024, St. John's County, Florida police received an emergency call about two children aged three and six alone for a long time in their home. When officers arrived, they faced Amber, their caregiver. Her excuse stunned everyone. I just went to the mailbox for a moment. >> Amber ain't nowhere to be found. >> Kids tiny. >> Three and six. >> Just watching Mario and they're by themselves. >> Hi. >> Are you Amber? >> Yes. >> Okay. What are we doing? >> I had to run to this mailbox. >> Where's the mailbox? >> Right there. But my key wasn't working cuz she usually >> definitely weren't there when we >> Let's stop for a minute. You weren't at the mailbox. We've been in the neighborhood for like 15. >> What happened? Who called? >> We've been in the neighborhood for 15 or 20 minutes. You ain't at the mailbox. >> I really did go initially and then where did we go? >> And then she called me and I came right back. >> Okay. What store did you go to? >> Right there. >> I don't know what store you're talking about right now. >> I know. No, I'm not from here. We just moved here. >> Where do you move here from? >> South Carolina. >> Okay. What are the laws in South Carolina? You allowed a three-year-old and a six-year-old home alone? >> No, >> you're not. I'm not. >> Okay. So, you know better, right? Yes. >> That's unbelievable. And then you hang up on my deputy. >> I didn't mean to. The thing lost and then it said no carer ID. So, I was like, who is this? So, yeah, that's my license. Their mom. >> I'm just I'm just curious of your thought process. I've got a three-year-old and a six-year-old sitting inside and said somebody at their mom. >> Okay. Hence, you know, five deputies here and there ain't an adult to be found. >> I'm sorry, guys. I didn't know he was going to call and say that they >> I don't care. Give me Give me a minute. Okay. You You can hang that. Hey, I'm about this. It's a felony. I mean, she's to go to jail. >> Got her daughter in the back seat. >> How old's your daughter, ma'am? >> She's 11. >> Okay, here's your ID. >> Give Give us a couple minutes. >> Faced with a chaotic situation, the police had to confer on how to proceed. >> You can hang tie right there for a minute. >> You said I can. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> How far away mom? I got you. How you take your 11-year-old? >> I think she needs to go to jail, bro. It's a felony. She was gone from the time in to now it's been 30 minutes. I have no idea her. >> Huh? >> Her? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. Um, not to mention she's going to hang up on you and then lie to everybody when she gets here. >> She notices she had to come up with the mail in her hand, too. >> Yeah. No, on purpose. >> You guys want the mailbox is at the front of the neighborhood. >> I I personally think she need to go to jail. I mean, it's >> child. >> Yeah. I mean, it's a felony. So, >> you don't really necessarily want to do it in front of my daughter. So, >> no. And I don't I don't disagree with that, but your car to interview her. >> Yeah, >> I'll see if she wants to give me an S1 statement. >> Okay. Yeah, we can go around. She's already done lied to us a couple times. >> Probably my mom involved. >> Shortly after the Miranda warning was read, marking the start of the official interrogation of Amber. >> This is crazy. >> You're willing to give a sworn audience? >> Do I have to? >> I'm just asking yes or no. >> That's fine. >> Okay. Today's date is January 20th, 2024. The time is 11:29 a.m. I'm Deputy Cler from St. John's County Sheriff's Office. Law enforcement deputy conducting criminal investigation. This interview is being conducted. I'm interviewing Amber Scott. Persons present in this interview are myself, Amber, and Deputy War. Before we get started, like the frame of the statement is a voluntary statement that no one need force you and you need to give the statement. Is that correct? >> Yeah. If I don't like am I going to go to jail or something? >> Not saying I'm just trying to get your side of what happened. >> Yeah. I went to check the mailbox and I was headed to the store and as soon as I left, I even had the thing. It was like alarm activity detected. Kinder caught me and said, "The police are at the house. Please turn around." >> Ask me some things. Okay. At this time, I'd like to place you under oath. This will be a sworn court interview taken by a law enforcement deputy pursuant to Florida State statute 117.10 I will swear and affirm the statement you're about to give will be truth the whole truth and nothing but truth. >> All right. Put your hand here now. Can you please state your full name and date of birth? >> So right now we're doing a investigation. Okay. So right now it could be child because six-year-old and three-year-old alone by themselves. Okay. So I got to ask you a series of questions. I got to read you something. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say it can be used against you in the court. You have the right to talk to the lawyer for advice before we ask you any questions. Have them with you during question. Not for lawyer will be deployed for you before any questioning. If you wish you decide to answer any questions, we have a lawyer present. You still have the right to stop answer any time. You also have the right to stop answer any time until you talk to the law. Understand each of these rights I'll explain with you. >> Yes, sir. >> But these are rights in mind. Do you wish to talk to us now? >> Okay. Keep me out of jail. >> Yes or no? >> Yes. >> Okay. It's not whether or not it keeps you out of jail. I just need to ask you a few questions. Are you good to talk to me? I'm just kind of like crazy. >> Okay. But I need a yes or no. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Yes. The truth quickly emerged. She hadn't been at the mailbox as she first claimed and the reason for lying was I guess it sounded better. >> So, we're here because 3-year-old uh did a and the prostitute that she said something about a gun and her mother or something like that. So, that's why we came here. That's why there's a lot of us here. When we got here, the six-year-old opened the door. We checked the house. It was just him and her in there. Um, >> originally what time did their bond leave today? >> Baseball, her son. So, she left at like 9:37, something like that. >> Okay. And that Were you just planning on staying there to watch the rest of the kids? >> Yeah. And I didn't want them to come out in the cold cuz it's cold. So, I went to check the mailbox and I was headed to the store and then Kendra said, "Hey, the police are at the out the house. I need you to turn around and go." >> So, were you already on 210 when she called you? >> 210? Yes, sir. So by the pilot or past the TA where >> on 210 the further down on the left hand side to that gas station and then she called and she said, "Hey, the police is at the door." >> So when I called you, why did you say you were at the mailbox? But she called you before I called you. >> Yeah, she did call me before. >> So why'd you tell me you were at the mailbox? >> Because I guess it sounded better. But I did go to the mailbox, but yeah, >> earlier. See what I mean? But when I called you, you said you're at the mailbox and then the next thing I know, you hung up on me. Okay. So that's why we have concerns. so that they shouldn't leave cuz my sergeant, my supervisor, other deputies weren't over there. You weren't by the mail. So, the other thing if you're going to get mail, you have 11-year-old daughter, right? >> She should have stayed. >> She could have, right? Could have stayed with them cuz she's older. She knows not open doors for people or anything like that. Has a phone. So, why didn't you just let her 11-year-old daughter stay with them? Cuz we was looking for cuz heaven forbid 6-year-old, three-year-old, they do something, they get >> Oh, next time she got to take them with her. I can't. It's not They're not even my cat, but she got to take them with her next time. >> So, she just asked you this morning if you could watch them while she goes. >> Yeah, something like that. She went upstairs. You left. I came downstairs. They was watching home. There was communication. >> Yeah. I told her, "I'm leaving out to check the mailbox quickly." I'm not sure if you guys heard when you came. So, when I left, I said, "Hey, I'm leaving." >> But no, there >> it wasn't supposed to be like that long. was supposed to be. >> It doesn't take that long for, heaven forbid something happens to them, someone breaks in or someone does something else. Well, you said she was gone when he left today, but there was communication where just for you to watch it until she got back with her son practice. >> Yeah. And then I said, "I'm going out right quick." And then she put I got a notification on my phone. It said critical. And that's when she called and said, "Hey, the police are down." >> Given the situation, the police had to show Amber the seriousness of leaving the children alone. That's where our issue is right here. Okay. So, that's that's my issue and everything like that. And we got a a job to do and everything. So, what we're looking at right now is child. >> Okay. Unfortunately, even though you're not their kids, you were in charge of them while mom stop watching. Heaven forbid say it was the other way around. You had a 63y old. How would you feel if you left or if that person left and left them alone and all the cops are here and everything? >> But she knew that I left. But >> but you're I don't know what you're saying. She's away and everything. Yeah. >> Is there anything else you think you add right now? >> No, sir. That's it. >> All right. At this time, I'd like to conclude the interview. It's 11:35 a.m. >> Do you have any family in the area? >> No. >> Unfortunately, have to go with me. Okay. >> At that moment, the mother Kindra appeared, but it was too late. Every excuse was useless and the responsibility for the children remained with Amber. She was arrested and escorted away powerless to argue. >> Are you okay with her just watching your daughter? >> Yeah. Can I talk to her, please? >> Talk to your daughter? >> Um, Kendra. >> Yeah. Over here. What I don't want to do. >> What I don't want to do is >> I got to give her my debit card so I can get ded. >> Okay. What I don't want to do is cuz you're doing handcuffs. Are you going to be complying with me? Yeah. >> You've been fine with me. I can put the handcuffs in the front. Do you want her to talk to you right now? >> Yeah. Come on, Kendra. I'm going to jail. Are you serious? >> It's okay. >> No. >> Look, you got to find my >> Are you the boss? >> It's Kendra. Just calm down. You got to find my TD bank card. You got to bail me out. >> You're really going to take her to jail? >> They're my kids. >> Then it wasn't on. >> They're my kids. Are Are you You're taking her to jail over my kids. >> Honey, you're want to talk to your daughter before or no? >> Yeah, I'll talk to >> Right here, man. Tell her to come out. Where'd she go? >> She went in the house. >> You want to go tell her to come out real quick? So, are who's the boss? You are. You could have took me. >> She's not going to take me. >> She was the one in charge of the kids, though. I've told you that. Three or four. >> Yeah, but they're my children. >> In the end, Kindra's arrival couldn't save Amber. She was arrested for child and faced a three-year probation sentence. After the shocking child abatement case in St. John's County, Florida, another incident unfolded. This time, not inside a locked home, but out on the street. >> I watched you about drive off the road. You blew down this road 70 mph in a 35. Then you pull off a Cooper and Mary. >> On May 9th, 2025 in Charlotte County, police spotted a pickup truck speeding out of control with three teenagers inside. The vehicle was immediately stopped. From that moment, the male driver began his attempts to prove he was sober. Put your hands out the window now. Put your hands out the window. I'm not playing with you. You're a dude. >> I'm not drunk. >> Yeah. Yes, you are. My You're not. We'll find out here in a minute. >> Yeah. What's wrong? I just told you I got another unit coming. We're going to see if you're drunk or not. You about went off the road and hit my patrol car. You weren't even paying attention. >> And then when you pull Yes, you did. And then when you pulled on off of Mary onto Cooper, then you're spinning tires driving 70 down this road in the car. >> 70 >> at least at the very minimum. >> I went 70 >> 100%. >> No, sir. >> Yes, sir. Well, what's the glass that just fell and hit the floor right there at your feet? >> Never went 70. >> Okay. What's that glass that just fell and hit the floor? >> That's a That's a glass from my house. What do you mean? >> You drink leak alcohol. You're slurring your words. Let go of my car. You can't even stand up straight on your own. >> Look at you. You pissed your pants. >> No, sir. This is drink. >> Okay. What kind of drink? >> Water. What do you mean? >> I pissed my pants. Really? >> Sure looks like it. >> No, sir. I didn't piss my Really? I pissed my pants? >> Well, when people are drunk and they don't know it, they piss their pants. It happens all the time. >> I didn't piss my pants. >> Okay. >> Wow. >> You should be ashamed of yourself. >> I live right here. >> I don't care where you live, you're risking their life driving like that. >> No, sir. I'm not driving crazy. >> Okay. >> The dialogue over. I'm drunk versus I'm not drunk. Continued. You don't even know that you did it. You think I'm just making all this up? Are you questioning my integrity? Is that what you're doing? No, >> I'm not. >> Well, you are because you're telling me you didn't do it and I watched you do it. And so those three juveniles I was dealing with while you blew by me. >> Three juveniles? What are you talking about? >> That's exactly my point. You just blew by me going that way. I was out with three juveniles that you almost hit my patrol car. >> No, sir. I never I never almost you at all. I want to see cameras. >> It's all on camera. Don't worry about >> Put it on camera, please. Yes, sir. Put it on camera. >> Sounds good. >> That's right. >> Yes, sir. Put it on camera. I did nothing wrong. >> Okay. >> Whatsoever. I'm going towards my house. My house is right here across the church. Right here. >> Okay, we'll find out here in a minute. >> No, not at all. >> Unbelievable. >> I don't understand what I did. I'm I apologize for that. >> If you don't understand what you did, that's the problem. That's the problem. If you're telling me you don't know what you did, that's the problem. You're driving like that. >> Yeah, those are kids. Young are kids. >> Me going towards my house >> and going back that way at 100 miles an hour. >> 100 miles an hour? Dude, you I was going 100. You are insane, bro. If you think I was going 100, you were insane. I'm sorry. Look, when did you start the service, >> buddy? I've been here a long time. This ain't my first day. Listen, I'm not arguing with you. But I was not doing 100. >> No way. I was doing 100. No, sir. >> Well, you're pissed drunk. So, you're full of [ __ ] No way I was doing. >> You guys go check on the kids in the car. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That was in his That was in his lap. >> No, it was in my lap. >> Yes, it was. It didn't just fall from the sky. It's all on camera. >> Glass. Was it in my lap? >> Okay. >> Okay. You're right. There was a glass in my lap. What does that mean? An empty glass in my lap. >> The father still seemed completely unaware of the danger posed by his reckless swerving on the road. How's it going? Sorry to everybody's being a maniac, you know. Did you guys just drive down that way and then you came back this way? Yeah, you went by, Tom. You guys saw me over there. Okay. >> Listen, I apologize. I didn't mean to. >> But you don't got to apologize to me. I'm more pissed off that you're not coherent enough to drive your vehicle. >> Drive my vehicle to my house. >> So, tell me why your would say, "Yeah, drunk and he was just driving really fast up and down this road and told him to stop." Do you think a 8-year-old make that up? >> He's a child. Oh, he's going to say what he says. >> So, he So, he shouldn't even know what drunk is, right? He's a child, >> dude. Look at here, man. >> Do what? >> You're being You're being like, serious, >> I am. You have I'm a father. I would never >> at home is right here. >> So, is that just make it okay that you should just get to go home because I'm not doing nothing to put my life in. >> You are because they're in the vehicle and then you about put my wife in when you almost hit me. >> Sir, no, I did not almost hit you. >> I don't know what to tell you. >> I did not almost hit you. No, sir. You're being honestly ridiculous right now. You really are. >> I don't really care what you think. To be honest with you, I'm telling you what happened. >> I apologize if you think that I did. >> I don't think that it happened. I'm telling you it did. >> But I did not. No, sir. >> I don't got to argue with you. So, it did happen. You can be in denial all you want. It about happened. Listen, you think that you >> Well, you're telling me I'm wrong, so that's question of my integrity. I'm telling you. >> Okay. What the you say, bud? Look here. I'm not arguing with you, man. I'm not I'm not arguing with you, man. I'm not. But I apologize if you think I did. I'm sorry. >> But I did not. >> Suddenly, a woman appeared. >> Watch the glass. >> I could have drove, but I just ran. >> You're good. You said you guys live right there. >> Yes. >> Yeah. So, he bought me over there on the side of the road going off the road on Cooper going that way. While I was dealing with three other people, and then they were like, "You're not You're going to keep messing with us and not go stop that guy the way he's driving." Well, then I was trying to finish with them. And then he went through the neighborhood over there, came back out at Mary, blew the stop sign, spinning tires, doing like 70 both ways. >> Exactly. So, not only did he almost me he's also risking >> driving recklessly with the kids. >> Uh, this fell out of his lap. So, I'm assuming that probably came from Ryan's if that's where you guys came from. >> Okay. Glass. I wasn't sure, but yeah. >> Yeah, it was in his fell out of his lap. Once we're done with him, then they can go with >> Does he normally piss his pants? Is that normal for him? >> He doesn't. >> Okay. But Okay. >> But coherent. No. After all the denials, the police had no choice but to conduct an on the spot alcohol test. >> What's your name? >> Mason. >> Mason. All right. So, my deputy just told me he observed you the traffic down here. Okay. >> Unfortunately. Yes, sir. >> So, after he made contact with you, obviously I'm seeing it, too. I'm selling, you know, blur speech. You're leaning up against his vehicle. I really hope you didn't heat yourself. >> No, sir. That's drink. >> Drink. >> There's a glass over there. >> What drink was it? >> Just water. Just water on the left. >> Yes, sir. >> Where did you Where are you guys coming from? Uh, >> I came from Ryan's >> off of Duncan Road there. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. I don't know if there's one here in downtown. >> No, sir. No, sir. Ryan. >> Okay. So, based on his observations, my observations on these speaking to you. I'm just going to run you through field. Okay. All it is is that something make sure that you're able to operate the vehicle. Doesn't mean that you're in any trouble at all. >> I don't want to to do a field surprise test. I don't. I live right here. I don't care to. So my like I said my house is right here street behind your license in front of your license. >> Why am I on a jail? Because I live right here. >> Let me speak to you. So based on my observation observations. >> I'm not being anal or not. >> I know. Well, you asked. So I'm explaining it to you, right? I hope I'm not being explain it to you. So the way that that works is >> what do I need to do to >> dispel my fear that you're not intoxicated is run through field sobriety. That's it. >> That's all it is. It's either you do it or you don't. All right. Just like how it says on I I'll show you my license. Let's see if you see. >> I am right here at my house, man. >> I get it. Right here. Can you read over there at the bottom? >> I'm not being [ __ ] >> Motor vehicle constitutes any test required by law. So that's all it is. Just based on my observations. I'm not accusing you of anything. It's just based on my observations. I just need to dispel my fear that you're able to operate. >> What do you want me to do? >> Will you consent to run through field? >> Can you run me through what you want me to do? >> I can. I can do it. >> Run me through without me consenting. Let me know what you want me to do. >> You don't. All right. Whatever. So, you're if you want to do them, it's yes or no. >> What do you want me to do? I want to know what you want me to do. >> The result. The father almost failed the test. >> See the tip of my pen here? All right. With the tip of your pen. Do you mind touching with the tip of your finger? Like that. >> Why are you shaking? >> Yeah. I don't know why. >> Why are you shaking so bad? >> Probably too much. >> I can't. What's going on? >> There you go. >> Okay. Oh, >> you got it. I know that was >> Oh, bro. Whoa. Can somebody else hold the pen? >> No, I just have drank too much caffeine. Okay. Well, you see what it is, right? You touched it. >> Well, I'm just saying you're like this. Do you see the tip of my pen? >> I do. Okay. But can I record this or no? >> It's all record. >> That's how I record it on camera. >> I mean, your pen is doing this right here. It's pretty straight. >> Yeah, it's straight. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> You touch it. You're good. Put your hand down. Okay. So, the tip of the pen that you just touched with your tip of your finger, you're going to follow it with your eyes and your eyes open. Okay. Do not move your head. Do you understand? >> Good. >> Do you mind taking your hands out of your pocket? Keep them straight to your side. Like I said, >> you're shaking a lot. >> Follow it with your eye. >> You're shaking a lot. >> What does that mean when you follow it? >> You're shaking a lot. >> Can you follow it? I'm following it. What do you mean? >> Are you doing it? >> I'm doing Am I Am I doing it? Am I doing it or no? >> Can you stop talking? >> I'm doing it. I'm doing it. Right. >> Go ahead. Just follow it. >> Go ahead. >> Follow it. >> This time things escalated when the man resisted, leaving the police with no choice but to make an arrest. >> Do you feel comfortable walking in those? >> No, I don't. >> Do you mind taking them off? >> No, sir. I'm not walking in a straight line. There's no straight line here. There's no line here in the road. >> Straight line. Can't imagine a straight line or anything? Nope. I can't imagine. >> You know what we can do? There is a straight line. Walk over here. >> I'm not doing it. >> If you're not, then just put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Why are you not going to say no to when I tell you? Put your hands behind your back. >> Okay. I'm not I'm not I'm not releasing, sir. >> Then don't say no. And don't push off. >> I'm not pushing you, sir. >> I'm not I'm not being a buttthead, dude. Look. What? Why am I being arrested? >> I will do what you want me to do. >> No, you're too late for that. You're You're being the N. You're too late. >> Wow. >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> Let me check that buckle. Why? Why the am I being arrested, man? >> I don't know why. >> Okay. Thank >> Thank you for all this. >> Despite the tension, the authorities patiently informed and ensured all legal procedures were properly followed for the mother. >> All right. So, based on that, your husband's under arrest for DUI. Just so you know, it's an enhancement as well because there's children under the age of 18 in the vehicle. And due to his actions and my observation, DCF will be called on that. >> Okay. >> Oh, no. He will. He will. >> What just happened? >> So I So based on what my off my deputy here said, obviously the speeding. So we have them. We pulled him over. We made contact with him. I smell the alcohol in him in his in his breath. All right. They don't just serve glass to go on glass like that. >> Absolutely not. >> Okay. Based on all that, I never accused him of anything. I don't know if you could hear the conversation that I was having. Now, all we did there was try to run him through field sobriety just to dispel our fears that he's able to operate the motor vehicle. He's not impaired in any sort. That's all it was. I showed him my driver's license. Your driver's license says it as well. Under your address, it says that per Florida law, you have to do field sobriety. >> Mhm. >> I explained that to him. That kind of changed his mind cuz he said no. Just of him saying no once, I could have automatically taken him to jail. But I wanted to give him every opportunity to do it just to dispel my fears cuz like I said, I didn't want to accuse him of anything, right? Cuz you can drink. The issue comes now where you're unable to operate the motor vehicle. the speeding down a school zone. I don't know if you can see this. It's not school. It's not an active school zone, but there's still children playing. I know there's baseball practice today on on Thursdays. You know what I'm talking about. Giving the area here. It's unacceptable, right? So, I do it here. He starts saying, "Oh, you're shaking. You're moving. You're all this." Doesn't matter if I'm shaking. All he has to do is just follow my my pen. He didn't want to he didn't wasn't want to doing it. He couldn't follow it. His eyes were like this. All right. Which shows that his impairment level is is pretty high. Then I tried to do him to walk in just to do a walk and turn. At that time, I like I said, never accuse him of anything. He's like, "Oh, I'm not doing it. I'm not." All I ask him, "Do you feel comfortable in the shoes that you're wearing? If you don't, take them off just to do this." "Oh, there's not a straight line here. I can't do it." "Okay, well, we'll move over there where there's a straight line." "No, I don't want to do it." So, I'm like, "Okay, you don't want to do it." Then you're going to jail. You obviously wanted to push away. Didn't want to turn around for me. And that's where we're at. Okay. Obviously, I did not want it to go that way cuz there's children. They're not 3 years old. So, they're going to remember this for their whole life. That's not why we do our things, right? I'm sure this is probably the first interaction they've had with the with with law enforcement. Has it been? >> No. >> Okay. I thought so. Obviously, I didn't want this to be their first one without them understanding. >> This is not They know exactly what's going on. Well, my oldest that was. Yeah. >> So, I'm gonna I'm just gonna ask you, was he drinking at was what was in that in that? >> Oh, absolutely. It was um Jack and Co. >> I could smell. >> He's been drinking since 1:00 today. >> Since 1:00. >> Yes. >> And he does that on a consistent basis. >> Oh, yeah. I'm just going to get a Do you mind locking? >> The father was held on charges of DUI, child endangerment, resisting arrest, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Under Florida law, if convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison, and fines exceeding $22,000. Failing to ensure a child's safety during activities carries serious legal consequences.
