This is one of the wildest emotional roller coasters I've ever seen in Sovereign Encounter. After this man is confronted by officers for allegedly stealing another man's dog, he decides to take things into his own hands, literally. >> What's going on? >> What's going on with you and Thomas? >> What's that? >> What's going on with you and Thomas? >> What do you mean? >> Why are you taking his dog? >> Okay, I'm already having some challenges. You're on this dark road. Grown man, overalls, no shoes, and a pitbull. Definitely something that I would want to be thinking about backup because this is a potentially dangerous situation. >> Okay. >> Well, he said he didn't give you the dog. >> So, those are his words. >> Yeah. >> The words that came out of his mouth were he said he didn't. >> Okay. Do you have ID on you? No. >> What authority do you have gives you the right to state of Texas gives me the authority? >> Really? >> Yes, sir. >> State of Texas. Yeah. Anytime a police officer stops to identify you for an incident, you have to give me ID. >> Yes, sir. >> Is there in the Texas penal code? Did you recite the field? >> Not verbatim. >> Okay. So, the officer's kind of painted himself into a corner because he's requesting a physical ID card. I've spoken about this before. The H highle state case that actually went to the Supreme Court. You don't have to have an ID card, but you do have to ID yourself if you're subject to like a Terry stop, which this appears to be because it's an alleged theft. So the officer might have to back off of that. But again, it's still very dangerous situation aside from the legal aspect. And it sounds like we're getting some sovereign talk from the guy about where's your legal authority and all this other stuff. >> So I just have to take your word for it. >> Yes, sir. >> And then I have to give you nothing in that. >> Actually, you give me nothing. I don't consent to your form of interrogation. By law, I'm a free man right now on ground. By law, if you don't tell me who you are, >> ask me that. >> By law, if you don't tell me who you are, it's failure to identify and arrest offense. >> Really? >> Yes, sir. >> Can you state that ordinance? >> I just did. >> Why not, Tom? >> Get this man's dog back. >> You mean my dog? >> Oh, I don't know why you got that thing. >> No, I don't want that. Here. >> No, Thomas, it's yours. No, no, this >> What is your name? >> This is mine. >> Another interesting thing, if you look on his right wrist where he's holding what looks like an animal pelt, he has a hospital wristbands on. I always check on those, especially if a person's acting a little bit off because I want to know, do they potentially have some type of mental illness that they're in the hospital for? They don't have to tell you, but a lot of times if you ask, they'll tell you. So, you got this guy barefoot overalls near a cemetery with some type of animal pelt walking away with some guy's dog. Definitely the type of situation where you might want another unit with you. >> What is your name? >> You can either tell me what your name is or I think my name. >> Um, >> I'm asking you what your name is. >> I'm asking my dog what's my name. >> Ask him if you tell him what's your name. >> What was your name? >> I don't know. No, I wasn't present. >> Present for >> You know where I live, right, officer? >> Yes, sir. I do. >> I know where you live, too. I wasn't present. I wasn't present at the time of my birth. So, how how do I have a name? >> Go ahead and put the stuff down. >> Is that an order or a command? >> It is an order. Go ahead, put the stuff in your hand. >> If there's an order, can you state the order? >> So, here we got one of the most challenging situations where you have a person with a potential mental illness issue because this how he's talking and the sovereign. If you mix those two things together, it's like a powder cake. Very, very dangerous. I will follow you. >> We can do this one or two ways. >> Yeah. I'll follow your instructions, but you have to stay. Do what I tell you to do. >> I'll follow your instruction. Do what I tell you to do. Well, that's not that's not a command. That's an order. You have to have a commandment to give an order. >> Put the stuff down. >> You have to have a commandment to give an order. >> Am I a man? >> Put the stuff down. >> Am I a man? >> All right. >> Are you going to caution me? >> Yep. >> Why? >> For what? Not identifying myself. >> Stop. >> But what are you doing? >> You're going to jail. >> No, I'm not. I'm a man standing on my own two feet. You got to be critical of the officer. This is horrible tactics. You're never taught to handcuff if you can from a different direction than just approaching from the front. You handcuff one wrist, you're essentially giving the person a weapon and then having the other hand look like his dominant hand on the overalls is not a tactically advantaged position to be in, especially with this person who's exhibiting this behavior. >> You're costing me and you're threatening my life. >> Put stuff down in your hands. >> You're threatening my life. Why would you threaten my life? >> Put stuff down. >> I'm not put I'm not doing anything. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> What have I done? State the law that I've done that I've broken. >> You tell me who you are. >> So, I have no reason to give you an inquiry. Why? >> Put the stuff down. >> State what your commandment is. >> Put stuff down. >> What's the commandment? >> Put your stuff down. >> Do you Are you identifying myself as a man? Do I look like a man to you? >> Look at me. Do I >> Now you're being detained. >> Do I look like a man? >> Right now you're being attacked. >> Can you answer my question? >> I will answer your question if you can answer mine. >> What question do you have? Is it a commandment that you can accost tear and writ a man's privates whenever you feel like it? >> What? That doesn't make any sense. >> Well, I'm not trying to make sense to you. What I'm giving you is a command. >> No, you're not. >> If you're not following >> I'm giving a lawful order. >> No, you're not. >> Put the stuff down. >> You're giving an order. You're not giving a command. I asked you to state a commandment. What's the commandment? >> Put the stuff down. >> You can't tell another man to to do put his hands behind his back because he's not identifying himself. What What credence do you have? >> Put your stuff down. >> What credence? What oath do you have to threaten a man's life with physical harm in threatening him with a gun? >> How am I threatening you with a gun? >> You are armed, sir. >> I have trash in my hand. >> Put trash down. >> Look what it looks like. >> Put it down. Not going to go for you. >> Put it down. No. [ __ ] >> Let go. >> No way. Let go. You let go. Let go. Let go. You let go. You are under arrest. You are under arrest. I'M A LAWFUL CITIZEN OF THE STATE OF TEXAS. >> YOU ARE UNDER [screaming] ARREST. I'M A LAWFUL CITIZEN'S COMMAND. IN ORDER TO DECREED, YOU FAILED YOUR DUTIES AS OFFICER. DO YOU HEAR ME? DO YOU [screaming] HEAR ME? GET off me. >> I will not strike you again if you do not threaten my life. >> Get the off me. >> Will you not threaten my life? >> Get off me. >> Will you not threaten my life? >> Get off me. >> Will you kill me? >> Will you innocent man? >> Get the off me. >> I will get off of you if you won't innocent. >> Get off me. >> I will get off of you if you won't innocent. >> If you don't know, this is the officer asking the suspect to get off of him. >> Cemetery. He has on the ground. >> Roll over. OW. OW. >> 218. Show one to 10. >> Please let me go. >> Step it up. Send me Amar. >> Please, Lord, please let me go. I promise I will not hurt you. Please let me go. Officer, please let me go. 213 County was requesting anymore. >> I do not want to suffer anymore. It hurts. Please help me. Oh God, God almighty, please help me. Lord, please help me. I am just your servant. Lord, please help me. I don't know what I should father, but it hurts. Why does it hurt so much? Why did you do this to me? Why did you do this to me? >> I did not do anything. I was picking trash up off to the side of the road. I was walking my friend's dog. He has terrible anxiety. We were trying to heal [clears throat] him. >> Stand up. >> It hurts. IT HURTS. >> STAND UP. >> Everything in your pockets. >> I don't know, sir. I wonder if this rest. I don't know. This man assaulted me. He's taking my freedom. He didn't identify himself. His name is Blacken, brother. Help me. Oh god. >> Get in the car. >> Please don't do this. >> Get in the car. >> Please don't do this. >> Get in the god car. >> Please don't do this. Please don't do this. >> Step in the car. >> Please don't do this. >> Get in the car. >> Please. Please >> get in the car. >> PLEASE DON'T DO THIS. >> [screaming] >> GOD, HELP ME. >> Trying to get him secured in the car. >> What is your name? >> He already beat me up. >> What is your name? What is your name? Please, please tell me your name. >> Get up on your feet. >> Please tell me your name. I will follow you. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm coming. Come here. I'm coming. I'm coming. I'm coming. I'm coming. I'm coming. >> You're in a car. >> Okay. Okay. [snorts] Okay. I'm not resisting. I'm not resisting. >> Not anymore. You're not. >> Oh, >> you already pat him down. This >> No. No. I I have I have I have things in my pocket. >> Get your left foot in. >> Well, would you like to take my my my items? >> I appreciate your help, sir. >> Not a problem. >> No problem at all. >> This is the trifecta of nightmare. A person who potentially has a mental illness. A person who's now bought into the sovereign nonsense and an officer who's using really poor tactics. By the grace of God, this officer wasn't hurt more seriously, but he was seriously hurt right when he asked for, if you paid attention, right when he asked for backup is when the suspect first hits him. So, he had the presence of mind to know that. And he has this hook of a handcuffed on his hand as he's swinging and raining down punches on this officer. The suspect ultimately plead guilty to a felony, second degree of assault on a police officer. And at the time of this recording, that is the last information that I have on this case. But again, if you know someone who's dealing with a mental health challenge, which I'm not sure if this guy is, but it's possible, they need to get help. And number two, let them watch a video like this to see that this sovereign stuff is not going to work with the police.
