This time the situation became more alarming because it unfolded inside a moving vehicle witnessed by both an elderly person and a child. On April 20th, 2025, officers responded to an emergency call reporting a heated argument inside a car with a child secured in a rear safety seat. They worked to calm the situation, separated those involved, [music] and documented statements, including one passenger who felt the mother's behavior was highly irresponsible. >> What's up? What happened, man? Uh, she's she's had a little too much drink. She hopped out the car acting while I'm trying to get us home. >> Call 911 earlier today. >> What's your name? >> Dustin Spencer. >> Okay. I I'm in the front seat and um my friend is >> hold on. >> I am her friend. We're going to go out for a nice evening. >> Okay. >> But she got feeling a little down, shall we say? >> Okay. >> And I didn't like the way she >> so. So I told her she was scaring me. >> Okay. >> And so I told him, well, wherever he went. >> Yeah. >> I told him I wanted to I wanted him to drive. >> Now her. >> Whose car? >> My car. >> What? That's her car. >> So he's been driving. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> And >> can you put her up for me, please? Yeah. Can you put her in the seat? >> You need to stand there with her. Come here, >> ma'am. Come talk to me. >> Oh, yes, ma'am. I'm sorry. >> Okay. So, he's driving, not you? >> Yes. I told >> Cuz you were scaring her. Okay. Or cuz she was scaring you. Okay. >> Yes. So, I told her, >> you see, I don't drive, ma'am. >> That's fine. >> So, I told her I did not want her to drive. And so, I was telling him I wanted him to drive, not her. >> Okay. >> And that was it. And >> where where was this at? It was >> okay. >> And they were acting stupid. Like you told her not to act stupid cuz she was acting stupid. >> Okay. I will talk to you in a minute. So who who's driving down the road at first? >> Okay. Well, the thing is he was driving down the road and she was acting really stupid. And >> how how was she acting stupid? Well, they were having an argument. >> Okay. >> And she was opening up the car door. >> Oh, >> yes. >> While they're driving down the road. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Where's the baby? >> The baby was in the car seat. >> Good. Can you make contact with her cuz she wants to interrupt my conversation with everybody else, please? The story took a different turn when officers spoke with a mother who appeared to be under significant strain [music] in a long and unhappy relationship. >> What's going on? >> I have a piece of [ __ ] boyfriend. I've already called 911 earlier today. This shit's going on. He's moved out of my house about 10,000 times today. I can show you all the [ __ ] messages of him being press when it comes today. >> Okay. >> Did he Did he punch you? Dude, like can I show you my phone that he busted up? >> So if you like there's been so much >> like here's >> where's he at? >> He's right [laughter] there. So these people saw me on this side of the street stranded. We've been fighting all [ __ ] day. I've backed him a thousand times leave. He's moved. I've got video evidence. The one in the yellow shirt. >> Yes, I've got video evidence of him leaving my house a thousand times. We live in milk thousand times leaving. I'm on probation. My probation officer knows about him leaving a thousand times. And then every time he goes, he comes right back to my [ __ ] house and he's been back. >> He's now >> last to drive my car. >> I'm trying to do is get the elderly lady I take care of. >> Okay. >> Did I do >> I don't know. >> You can call look up. You're Santa Rosa County, correct? >> So look up that that I've already called before on him because I didn't want this. I I I'm on probation. I've been through the [ __ ] ringer when it comes to law. >> So, I called them probably about four months ago and I said, "Hey, they're warning. It's about to get bad. Officer said is my probation officer. >> I'm not trying. I just want the guy to get the away from me." >> Okay. So, that's >> I called earlier today and hung No. I called earlier today, hung up the phone because it was an accident. You can literally You guys can look up that, right? From my phone number. You can literally look up that, correct? >> Okay. So I'm not [ __ ] bullshitting you guys. >> I don't We're not saying you're bullshitting. >> But this lady's over here treating me like I'm [ __ ] I haven't done a [ __ ] thing. >> I don't What? What? What do you mean? What is she doing? >> Attitude with me. >> Well, if you went over there trying to intervene what she was talking about. >> I didn't I was literally just trying to talk to her as soon as she walked up. >> Okay. Well, that's probably the first person she came in contact with. So, was was she in the car? >> Yes, right there. I was in the back seat while he's failing on me. >> Look at him. He's on testosterone. He's on all this [ __ ] >> However, sudden disruptive actions inside the vehicle, especially with an elderly and a young child present, quickly shifted sympathy into serious safety concerns. >> How did she get? >> Because she was biting him. >> Like while he's driving? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Like was the car swerving all over the place or >> Well, when she was beating him? Yes, ma'am. >> Was she like just hitting him? >> I'm not really sure exactly. He was driving. And >> so he's driving. You're sitting up front. >> Yes, ma'am. >> She's sitting in the back with the baby. >> Yes. >> So, what was she doing to him to say that you're fighting? Like, was she putting hands on him? Was she slapping him? Was she throwing stuff at him? >> Well, she was kind of throwing things. Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. >> And I yelled at her about it cuz I said, "He's driving." >> Okay. >> And I said, "Don't be stupid." >> Okay. >> I mean, what did you see? >> What did I see >> between the two of them? >> Nothing really. I just she told me that she on her hand >> and I heard her say, you know, she wanted to get out and he said, "No, >> you can't have let me get out." And I, you know, I could see that she was opening up the car door. >> Okay. >> Hey, man. >> Come come talk to me. >> So, [clears throat] did she ever exit the car while you're moving? Uh, who's at the stop sign? >> They're asking what color was the red light. She got out. >> This red light. >> I'm not following her. >> Tell me what happened in the car. >> We were driving and she was throwing stuff at me. Hit me. I tried to push her back and that's when she hit me right there. >> And then she started pulling the seat belt back >> and she come in a little bit and that's when I swung around >> trying to just drinking. >> Just drinking. She can't drink. She can't she turns into this. >> Yeah, there's no reasoning that she's >> You got your ID on you? >> I just need you to be real with me. Okay, I'm sure you know where it'll go. I'm probably already there. All right. >> How did she get that? when she was choking me at the seat belt. >> She threw the books there in toss around the back seat. She was doing everything else while >> we had um the you know >> too much fun at Wanas Was or whatever. We didn't even make it. We went in there. They wouldn't serve her alcohol and um so where were we before? We we just we that first place we stopped at was she been drinking all day at the house? >> At the house? Yes, ma'am. >> Look that way for me. >> It's this side. >> Well, I know you said she's throwing books at you, so it would appear. Are they on the floor or in the front of the car? >> Um, they're probably in the right there in the back or I'm not sure. >> All right. >> So, what's what's this about? This is the best. >> The two remained caught in a cycle of tension, partly because financial dependence made every option feel like a dead end. >> No, no, no. I wasn't finished with a sentence. What's this about you throwing stuff at him and you bit him and then you pulled the seat belt while the car is in motion? >> You pulled the seat belt choking him while the car is in motion. >> Yes. While he was also sitting there beating me in the face. Does he have the marks on him? >> Okay. Was this? Yeah, he has marks on him as well. >> So that's him beating back at me and he pulled up forward. >> Okay. So >> I've already called y'all once. I've already literally called y'all before earlier. >> We're not worried about anything before. We're only worried about what happened >> when Okay. So what caused you to bite him? >> Sitting there. >> Okay. So that caused you to bite him. Okay. Come on. >> I don't know. Ask these guys. >> Y I can't be okay. I have three little girls. I I asked him to leave today. >> Listen. Listen. >> We did. Nobody said you were going to jail. >> I have three little girls. I take care of the [ __ ] elderly. She's going to go to the system tonight. Just stop it. >> But I begged you TO LEAVE WHEN YOU PACKED. >> HEY, we're not shouting across the roadway. >> So, can I show you the videos up in the car? >> Just sit still and quiet. Okay. >> Please just let me show you my car. >> Please let me show you. He was packing up and leaving earlier today and he got in the car and he came with me and Natalie here. I have left a thousand times. I can show you a month ago where I went and stayed at Navar Beach because he was beating the [ __ ] out of. >> So why haven't you stayed away from it? >> I can't because I'm financially dependent. It's a [ __ ] shitty ass life, man. It's a shitty ass life, bro. >> I need you to bring it down. I don't need you to be shouting. Okay, >> I understand. I apologize. >> So here here's the thing. He told me that. So >> the conflict began over minor issues, but in a state of poor judgment and lack of communication from both sides, it spiraled out of control. In the end, one of them had to be held legally responsible. >> Let me apologize. >> No, it's okay. So here's what I'm guessing what happened. >> Yes, ma'am. >> You were very stressed about what was going on. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Very stressed. So much that maybe you didn't see or understand everything that was going on. Is that fair? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. >> All I knew is that, you know, there was commotion going on. She was throwing things. >> You can have this bag. >> She saw the seat belt. I don't think she saw it. She's in the driver's side. She's in the passenger bag. So, she probably see it. So, >> all I know is things were coming towards us and I told her not to be throwing things. >> So, I know you told me before she was throwing stuff. >> Yes, ma'am. >> And then she grabbed the seat belt. Yes. He grabbed his seat belt. >> Did you see her bite him at any point? >> She said that he bit her. Yes. >> She said he bit her. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, as lucid as as it is, from the beginning, she told me the witness told me the this thing right here was throwing >> Yeah. This one was throwing books. What started all this from the get? >> She wanted to get let out because they were arguing after he went through her phone out at the beach. >> She was drunk by the time they got down here. So much so as soon as they got to Wanas, they wouldn't even serve her alcohol. So they just turned around, >> went through her phone, she got pissed. They decided to come home. She's wants out of the truck. He's trying to do the manly thing, saying, "No, no, we can't have none of that." She gets mad and starts throwing books and whatnot. And so you can see pieces of the book like in his seat behind him. >> Um then again the witness which again is a little bit shaky but still says she grabbed the seat belt. So she Yes. So she's primary aggressor all day. >> Same with >> So where did you get or something? Right there. And you don't need EMS. >> [crying] >> victim of a romantic scam. [screaming] >> She's going to go with >> She's going to go with him. Unless you're you've got a mom or some other family member that you want to come get her. [laughter] >> That's where we're at. >> Take her. >> He can't take her. You're the only one that has You have 100% custody of the child. >> He can't take her. >> He can take her if you want HER TO. >> I CAN'T take her. >> Okay. >> I'm saying he can't take her from >> battery. Battery shot. >> Battery domestic violence. >> This is for battery or >> bad domestic violence. >> Okay. So, I can I can now I'm going to be on a VIP first tomorrow. Yeah. $100 bond. >> All right. Have a seat. >> Absolutely. >> I got an attorney. >> Okay. >> All right. I got an attorney. >> Your case number is 3218. 3218. >> You want it? >> All right. She's going to see the judge in the morning. She obviously needs to go through counseling. She said she wanted you to take her child. So that's where we're at. Okay. Okay. We'll give you this. All right. So it's got my name on the front. On the back I put the other deputy, the female deputy was out here. That's her name and her radio number. And then that's your case number right there. Okay. So there's that. And then this is just a list of resources. Okay. Do you have any questions? Okay. All right. Um hope youall have a better night. Okay. Get home safe. All right. >> Yep. >> The mother was charged with intoxication and unsafe conduct. Under Florida law, she could face up to 6 months in prison and a $1,000 fine. No one in this story is a winner. But if adults learn when to pause and seek help, today's mistakes can become a starting point for a safer family tomorrow. >> No. No. I want your supervisor. >> You are under arrest. >> You're I'm not under arrest. I'm >> She is a teacher with a legal background. Yet, she struggled to remain calm during a traffic stop, revealing a lapse in judgment under pressure as a parent. You realize you did. You punched officer. No, you really? >> No, I did not. >> Okay. Well, it's on body cam. >> You want me to If I was to punch him, I'll knock him the out. Do you really want me to try me? Do you really want to try me? I'm a teacher. Okay, I teach third grade. >> Okay, >> I have my 2-year-old in the car. I am just trying to get my 2-year-old home. Look at the time. I just came from a business event, and you really trying to detain me for what reason? I saw the alarms, but did you say pull over? Did you say pull over? >> Ma'am, do you have a Florida driver's license? >> Yes, I do. >> Okay, so I just moved here. Okay. When you get your driver's license, they teach you that you have to pull over when you hear when you see lights behind you. >> Well, I I was never told that. >> Well, then I don't know how you got your driver's license, though, because they teach >> because I came from New York. It was just a transfer. >> Who's the supervisor? >> Right there. >> Who? >> Sergeant R. >> I want to talk to him. I don't want to talk to you guys. >> The child was gently taken out of the vehicle with officer's assistance [music] to ensure safety. A moment reminds that a child's well-being must always come first. did not pull over >> and that's a felony. >> Not pulling over. >> That's called fleeing. >> How do you know if she knew you were behind? >> They have lights and sirens. >> Are these lights? I'm giving you guys the opportunity. Okay, >> you guys are getting the child. We did that for you. Okay. >> She has will have her day in court. Okay. She can try to justify it, but all these cars have cameras. They have LED lights. They have sirens. >> Okay. I'm glad they do. So, they will go to court and have her day in court. >> Okay. Okay. So, the car is going with us. It was using the commission of a felony. It's getting towed. Okay. We will get you guys the car seat. Okay. I'm trying to do everything what you guys have asked, but I'm not giving up the car. Okay. >> I I just want the baby. >> The baby is right there. You can take him to your guys' car and I will get you the car seat. >> This is just crazy. >> Just get the baby out of here. Let's just go. You want to keep running? >> What's the >> I'm trying to tell you guys. I'm trying to tell you guys, >> okay, but why can't we talk? Why do you get so upset because what happened? >> I'm trying to be upset. I'm not trying to be upset with you guys, but you guys don't know what happened. Okay? So, I'm trying to tell you guys what happened. Okay? And I'm trying to give everything right by giving you the daughter. I get it. I think emotions are heightened, but I just like don't understand like we're just trying to talk and just like >> No, she's not trying to talk. >> I understand she's not right now because of her baby. My priority right now is obviously getting her to you guys and then taking care of her. Okay, >> got it. >> He came out with a nasty attitude. How do you want me to be respectful to someone who comes out because I'm a different color? >> Is that what it is? >> Is that what it is? >> I don't think that's what it is. >> He did not even say at all at one point. Did he even say on the loud, "Are you the supervisor?" Who's the supervisor? >> The supervisor was the gentleman you were just talking to. I want to speak to him. >> I don't want to speak to any of you. I want to speak to the supervisor. >> I would appreciate if you please let go me. I'm going to stand right here. >> I'm not going to let >> Can you please let him know that I want to stand right here? I do not need her policy. He can't let go. >> Why? >> Because you're detained right now. >> Why? >> It's a safety issue. >> He is saying that I >> We're not getting into that right now. >> No, no, no. I want to get into it right now. Why would I hit a man when I know that he has way more force than me? She said, "I don't know Florida law." while trying to explain her actions. This highlights how important it is to understand local regulations and respond calmly during interactions with authorities. >> I was trying to talk to him and he had a nasty attitude. >> Ma'am, if you would have just gone in handcuffs to begin with and we could have talked this out, right, but you wanted to continue and resist and tense your arm in Florida, all the officer has to do is emergency lights, which he has, and siren, which I know he I am new to Florida. So, I did not know. >> Unfortunately, that's unfortunately your defense that you'll have to tell them in the court. Okay. You would have gave the officer your ID and you would have left here with just a speeding ticket and then you could have fought that in traffic court. >> Because I'm a darker skin color. >> No. If you wanted to take >> Because I'm a darker skin color. >> No. If you >> Yes, that's what it is. >> Okay. If you want to go that route, that's >> because I'm 100% sure if I was white, it would have been a different color. >> If you wanted to complain, if you wanted to complain, >> don't give me that. If you wanted to complain on an officer, >> you can always do that. >> I would love to. You're arresting I'm going to lose my job. >> You're arresting me? Yes, ma'am. >> I'm going to lose my job. >> Unfortunately, that's your own pay. Okay. >> And what is that? If I'm the one that's teaching your children, you don't care. >> You're not teaching my children. >> You don't know that. >> I do know that. You know my son's my teachers. >> You don't know where I work. >> I don't need to know where you were. >> So, you're arresting me for what reason? >> Have you had any alcohol tonight? >> No. >> Okay. You said you were at a a work event, so you didn't have any alcohol while you were there. >> No. >> Okay. Why do I smell alcohol in your breath? >> I was smoking it. >> In the end, what remains is the child's innocent gaze and a sobering lesson for the mother about composure, responsibility, and preparation. >> You just got to be quiet at this point and just go through the entire process. Please just go through the process. Work work. It's It is It already passed. It's passed. That we'll talk about later when you get out. At that point, we'll talk about that when you get out. But right now, what I need you to do for your children is to zip it. Go through this entire process. We will get you out. We're going to go over there and bond you out when it's time. I just need you to be as quiet as you can be from here on out. No more trying to talk about your side of the story. Nobody cares about that right now. That this has nothing to do with race. I need you to I need you to at this point at this point, listen to me. Please. Please. For your kids, please listen to me. I just need you to just stop. If if you want to debate and and and disagree, we can do that. If you want to do that with lawyers in court, that happens later. But right now, there there's no judge here to determine who's right or wrong. They're just going to do their part. And I just need they're going to take your car. I can't take it. I need you to just stop so that you don't make things worse. So that we can get you out and bond you out. That's what I need you to do so that you can come home. Okay? I don't need you to make this worse. So just stop at this point because you're not you're not going to be able to debate with them. They're not judges. Okay? Just please, mama. Please, the motions. We're going to be there. They said probably in a few hours. Okay. All right. I love you. >> All right. So, here we said you were coming from a work event. Where was your child at the time when you were talking to >> her cousin? She was watching my daughter because I don't have a break as a mother and the last time that I went out was in March. So, please forgive me if I wanted to just enjoy myself for a while. >> There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with that. You make me feel so guilty for [snorts] enjoying myself. >> How much have you had to drink tonight? >> I didn't have anything to drink. >> I can smell the alcohol on you, bro. >> I had a vape. That's all I had. That's all I had. And I am I am not stupid. I am a mother of three. You really think I'm going to drive drunk? All I >> surprised how of how often it happens. >> I don't care. I am not that person. I am a teacher. I have a responsibility to do. All I wanted to do was go home and change my daughter's diaper. That's all. >> So, down at the jail, are you willing to do a breath test? >> Fine, whatever. I don't care. >> The mother was charged with fleeing or eluding DUI, child without great bottle, resisting an officer with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. [music] Under Florida law, she could face a maximum sentence of up to 25 years in prison. The greatest loss is not in the legal outcome. It lies in the shaken sense of security between mother and child. And the moment a child may feel less protected by the person [music] they trust most. When a child feels the need to call for outside help instead of turning to a parent, it is no longer just a family disagreement, but a warning sign that adult responsibility has broken down. >> When you see him is from this side twice because I'm standing right here. On August 27th, 2023, officers were dispatched to an apartment after a call from a 16-year-old daughter reporting conflict between her mother and stepfather. The couple had reached out to emergency services multiple [music] times before, and in this instance, two children recorded what happened, providing evidence that helped [music] clarify the situation. >> Hey, my man. Hey, come here. >> Come here. No, come here. Come here. Stop >> walking away. >> Stop. Stop. Okay. Listen. I'm gonna put you in handcuffs. Okay. >> And that's my cell phone. He got >> Okay. >> It's my phone. >> No, it's not. >> Pay for it. >> I can show you the bill right here, sir. That's my phone. He put it in his pocket. >> I'm paying for it. Go ahead. I go ahead. Pay for it. >> 1026. >> That's my cell phone, sir. >> I pay for it. >> No, you don't. I can bill on my phone. >> You don't stop lying. Can you give me my phone? >> Stop. Stop. Just stop. Okay. >> Bro, you ain't nothing I had to say, bro. I I'm just Come on, bro. Stop for a second. Let me fix these so they don't cinch down your wrists. Okay. >> Can you get myself? >> Just give me Just give me just a minute. Okay. >> I'll pay for this. >> Hey, listen. We're going to step outside. Okay. >> Oh, man. I'm going outside. >> Okay. >> I'll be back in just a second. Okay. Listen. Listen. >> I need you to I need you to lean up against the wall. >> Okay. >> I need you to tell me what's going on. >> Look, all you got to do is do the paperwork, bro. Let me She get a kid to turn against me every time, bro. her kids, bro. She bro, she just got two times. She doing that again. >> So, do both of y'all live here together? >> Bro, bro, maden been married almost four years. >> Okay, >> she got she probably listening right now, bro. Look, listen. Listen to her, bro. >> Okay. >> Like, bro, just do your research, bro. >> So, listen. What I'm going to get you to do >> is I'm going to get you to talk to this officer right here, okay? And I'm going to go in and talk to them. All right. >> Tell me one. >> What's up? This woman been the last two times for jumping on me, bro. But her these are her kids, bro. She two kids, 15 sister. She make them do whatever she say, bro. >> Her kids, y'all are married. Can you tell me what's going on? >> So, I'm in his sleep and my kids can attest to it. So, I'm in his sleep. He came in here. He said, "Where the car at?" I said, "I let my friend Quinn hold the car." He was like, "Where her keys?" I said, "I don't have her keys." So, he just went crazy then. Oh, oh, throw the cover off of me. You gonna wear this? I'm thinking and whatnot. You can see I asked my son to record the whole thing. I got ready to call 911. He snatched my phone and grabbed it from me and I I hollered to call my daughter for her to call 911. When she call, my son has some video footage of me standing right there cuz I we already have a case. So, I'm trying to keep myself out of trouble. So, I'm just standing there. He just constantly shoving my head into the wall and everything. >> Okay. Um would you mind pulling that video up for me? I'm >> show her kids. like her kids do. >> If y'all married to your kids, >> too. Raise them. But you understand, bro. >> Okay. So, >> pull up. Put it up your computer, man. >> Okay. I'm not going to step away from a computer if I'm talking here right now. >> It began when the mother lent her car to a friend. Tension rose as the stepfather became upset, leading to aggressive behavior in front of the two children. It shows how unchecked emotions can damage the family environment. >> She just got for what? What? She gets locked up. Okay. >> Battery. >> So, >> but she she's the type she will she will cry victim, bro. And she started this, bro. >> She ain't doing Look at Just when when we get a chance, we will. >> She going She said, "Bro, she >> Okay. So, while she while she tells her side of the story to him, I want you to talk to Are y'all okay? Did Did any of y'all or anything like that? >> He didn't hurt you and he so I couldn't call y'all. Did you tell them you were going to call the police? >> Down the 911. He snatched my phone up my hand. >> She got mad cuz I was going outside. >> Uhhuh. >> She didn't know where I was going. Kind of tear. See, that's where it started from. So, >> don't listen to her. Talk to me. >> Just talk to me. >> Okay. >> We've been here all night and I've been sleep. I just was in the bed. >> You want me to hold it for you? >> You're good, man. Just take a breath, my man. It's okay. >> Whose phone is that? >> That's her phone. >> Why you got her phone? cuz you want to give my keys to my car. >> Okay, we'll get what's on the phone while you want to show me. >> I want to show you. Okay. >> As soon as you walk through the door. >> Hold on. Before we look at the phone, you still got to tell me what's going on. Just explain it to me as best you can right now. We'll look at the phone later. >> So, we normally shower with her. So, today I shower with her. Somebody call me like, "Damn, we going to a party." I'm like, "All right, babe. We can go." So, as soon as I got out the shower, I got a text. She was like, "Damn, we shower with her." So, I knew she was playing. You feel me? So boom. I said, "Well, the person in the other car, which my black car over here, >> a blue car was over here. That's the car she got. Blue car." >> So she was like, "Well, me and the kids going in the blue car." I'm like, "Okay." But I knew when she said it, she had attitude. So I'm like, "Bro, I ain't going to trip about the car. I'm just feeling out of town." >> Yeah. >> Left, came back. As soon as I get there, she was like I was like, "Damn, bro. Blue car." She was like, I let somebody bark. Oh, so where's they call? She was like, I don't have the keys. I'm throw >> YOU MAD. I WENT OUT, REMEMBER? TELL ME. >> I wasn't I didn't even say anything to him. He just got here. >> Where? Where? Come on. Where you supposed to? >> I'm telling him to get out my face. >> I'm going take a look at your face real quick. So, the blue car and the black car y'alls. >> This car. >> Okay. And the blue one she lent out to somebody. >> But she didn't, bro. She didn't. >> Okay. So, what happened then? >> So, I asked I was like, "Bro, you went to just living car and I get a car back in return. So, where's the other car? Do you have her car?" She was like, "No." So, I'm like, "That don't make sense. How can she borrow your car and and you don't have her car? That don't even make sense." >> Okay. >> You feel me? She was like, "Well, I don't know. I don't know." So, I'm like, "All right, bet. Grab her phone." That's how I get the phone. >> Sure. >> You feel me? Boom. That's when she ended up telling the kids to call. >> She end up telling the kids to call. >> Okay. >> Same thing happened last time. But you prevent me from my car though. But my car even not >> and it's expensive BMW, bro. >> The blue one. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> It's 538. 520. >> That's pretty nice. >> 520 might be 520. >> Okay. >> It's the expensive car over here. >> So, where's the car at? The blue car. >> You don't know? >> My boat. >> Okay. That's weird. >> And it's just He was sort of like >> I saw where he hit you in the video right here twice. >> Mhm. and then shove my head to the wall. >> This was not [music] the first time the stepfather had behaved in an unsafe way toward the mother. On this occasion, officers documented visible signs, [music] making his explanation less convincing. >> If I see your arms? >> Yeah, I don't have anything on my arm. >> I don't see any scrapes or anything. That's a good job pulling your phone out, my man. >> I told him to record. >> Yep. >> Because I know when y'all come, he was going to try and lie and say I did something and I didn't. I was in his sleep. >> Did both of y'all go out together? >> Damn. They already left. >> They already left and you went somewhere else. >> Yes. >> Then y'all come back here at the same time. >> All I said was, "Damn, everybody in the house is like, so where's my car?" So I asked him simply just as where's my car? >> They leave before you? >> Yeah. They left before me. >> Okay. So all I said, "Where's my car?" She said, "Oh, I let her girl which is Queen." So I said, "Okay." So where's Queen keep? She was like, "Queen got like that don't even make sense." >> Yeah. Cuz how they get back. Yeah. >> Somebody gets off. Okay, >> bro. That's where it started. >> Okay. So, that's the that's the start of all this, >> right? >> So, how so how did So, the reason why they call us, they said that things got physical between y'all. What's the deal with that? >> This way go back to the computer like she's a [ __ ] >> Okay. Okay. Well, not we're not talking about the past. We're talking about tonight. What happened? What happened tonight? Okay. I'll just start off. Did she put her hands on you? No. >> No. >> As of right now, he's he's going to jail. I'm just trying to see what all >> when I grab her phone, she did the same thing. She told the kids to call the police. >> Okay. >> That's why I said pull out. It's right there. >> Bro, it's Bro, just >> I got you again. I can't walk away from you right now. Okay. >> I know. I mean, but it's just like, bro, I'm tired of this, bro. >> How long's this been going on for, >> man? Once you put up >> Okay. Do you tell me? Has this been going on for years or months or >> years? >> Years. Okay. >> Years. What happened in the last the last uh few instances? >> This >> they got tired of it. >> Same deal. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Cuz I'm hurt kids. She going to get roasted forever, bro. >> Okay. Was he aware that he was recording everything? Yeah. >> Cuz I had to call my daughter for her to call 911 because he snatched my phone when I got ready to call. >> So essentially he gets home. >> He just got here. >> Yeah. So he gets home. I guess he went out or something like that. Okay. He gets home. You said that he woke you up. >> Yeah. He cut the light off and he was like, "Where my car at?" I said, "I let Quinn hold my car." He was like, "Since when?" I said, "I let her hold it tonight." He was like, "Where her keys?" I said, "I don't have her keys." Meaning, like, if she let me hold her car, would I say I don't have her? It's like, oh, hell no. You ain't going to try me like that. Where my mother car? And I was like, Quinn has my car. Like, what are you? >> It's a car that y'all share. >> No, what we used to, but I had to refinance. So, now my name is just got >> and we have another black car that he just came in that he just >> And you're the one who usually drives that the other car. Okay. So when you took the phone, was was it like in her hand or was it like on the table like >> No, okay. This all happened like in the bedroom. >> Yeah. See the kids she scream and holler and told you before pull up. >> All right. Did the kids Did the kids see y'all fighting like this? >> It wasn't nothing. >> But I mean, did they see you arguing? >> Bro, bro, they heard us talking [ __ ] in that room. >> Okay. >> I had no idea. >> But were they in the room with y'all? >> No. >> Okay. I got that one. >> How old are they? >> 15. 16. >> You said that there was things that happened before you were standing out >> doing you the same stuff that you been going to see him do like shoving my head and stuff like real hard pushing my head. He was doing that in the room. So I couldn't even I was have naked come in here telling my kids to record it and get her phone and I went to grab this dress and put it on. >> Gotcha. Okay. >> Last time did you take the ride or did she? She >> No, she didn't take nothing. They they took her. Okay. I get I mean >> Well, do you remember what the charges were for it? >> Some battery. Okay. >> Did everything happen out all the physical altercation happened out here? >> After previous incidents were not fully addressed, the mother asked her son to record. However, involving children in moments like this can unintentionally place emotional strain on them and further intensify family tension. >> That's why I came out here and so that they can see it. >> What happened in the room to start with? When he like when he woke me up, snatched the covers off me. I'm laying down. So he doing the same thing. Where my cart? Where my cart? That's why I said it was mainly this eye because I was laying on this side. So it's main this side. But when you see him me is from this side twice because I'm standing right here right behind him. You can hear me tell him in my phone I mean the phone to get out my face. That's why I'm just standing here waiting on y'all. >> So basically he rips the covers off of you and then starts kind of hitting you in the side of your the the side of the face on the left side. And then is that when you when that started happening, you came out here? >> Well, I reached my phone always I kind of sleep with under my pillow. So I grabbed my pillow um grab my phone under my pillow to dial 911. As soon as I dialed 911, he snatched the phone from me. >> Gotcha. Did he say anything about you calling 911 like you're not going to call him or anything anything similar to that? >> I can't remember. I know he might have said he don't care if I call him but I can't remember. He snatched the phone. So I got up and I hollered my J. So my Jay and I told her to call her and that's my daughter. Gotcha. That's who you heard on the phone with. Okay. So, you told him when you were in the bedroom, you said, "I'm going to call 911." And then you started dialing 911. >> I started to dial 911. He snatched my phone from me. >> Gotcha. Okay. >> And I had my daughter call for y'all. >> Okay. Oh, I think it locked. >> Jamar, come unlock your phone so you can finish. >> Sorry about that. I'll have mine turned to where um once it's open, it kind of never locks back. So, I'm not used to it. >> Get out my face. >> Okay. Get out my face. My son tell me to go in the room, but I'm like, "No, you stand right here and record. I'm stand right here." So they >> He was telling you to go in his room. >> He was telling me to go in the room so that I He won't take my money. He >> stops my money, bro. just got my money from just go in my >> You keep getting hit. >> I ain't going nowhere. >> You just got my money. >> Y be going over that [ __ ] She just got my money. >> She trying to make it seem like I'm a bad guy. It's like a touch you. >> Mhm. >> Why am I want to be in det? >> Okay, so this might make a little bit more sense. So he was the first one here and you understand that the call that we got was that folks are Okay, hold on. Time out. Listen to me. The call that we get is that folks are fighting in the apartment. >> I don't I don't >> understand he knew that he was recording. I don't know why he keeps >> because he don't you >> he don't care. >> It's crazy. >> The same thing that happened last time. I called the police the last time and I end up going to jail because he lied. But I didn't have the option to record then. That's why I said no. I'mma stand right here let you record so when they come they can see. He won't have an option to lie >> cuz I didn't do nothing. Like I said, he just got here. I've been asleep in my bed. >> Y'all better realize. >> Come on, [ __ ] I [ __ ] right there. >> But the thing is, if what we see with our eyes ain't matching up with what people are saying, taking that into account, right? We don't just go off people's word all the time, right? >> That's what I'm saying. Okay. What? That ain't right. >> I think this is right when I was walking in and then he opens the door right when I'm walking up. Okay. So, what do you think she was doing? >> Bro, she was just doing pity, bro. She was mad. >> But why would she do that with a car? >> I told you we was we showered together, but before both of us left, she left with kids. I left by myself. Before both of us left, I showered by myself. That's why I say once you get my phone, you can see the message. She truly >> what does the message say? >> She was just saying like we shower together we shower together the other night. So she was trying to repay me to get back at me. >> Are these his his children or >> No, we um been together for a while but they not his biological kids. >> Gotcha. How long have y'all lived together here? >> We've been here about 2 or 3 years now. >> That's what I say. >> So she decides in order to get back a year to go >> with the kids somewhere else. >> Okay. That's why my car in here makes sense. Bro, you got two cars. So, what car you drive more? Good >> question, >> bro. If you ride through the park, I'm pretty sure my car had around the corner somewhere. >> You think so? >> I know some. I know where she is, bro. I know my wife. That's my wife. I know her. >> She done that sort of thing before. >> She computer. >> Okay. >> I'm just tired of going down. She It's stupid to me. >> And are you sure that you don't want EMS? I see some swelling on the right hand on the left side of your face. >> That's what I said. But I don't think I think that's what it's going to do. Swell. My eye kind of water and burning like I I really can't tell right now. >> Would you mind? >> Blue BMW. What kind of model is it? >> 328. >> 320. >> 328. >> Clear coat. No tint blue. >> Oh, nothing. Gotcha. Is it like a dark blue or light blue? >> The reason why we're here is not because y'all are having this disagree. I understand that that's the reason why this all kicked, but the reason we're here is to make sure that nobody here is hurting one another. And and it goes both ways, my man. I know that you say that you she ain't you ain't touching her, but is she ain't touching you? Bro, no. Listen, I get I give I'm saying I need y'all to understand that this what's going on between marriage. >> Yeah, >> that's all I'm saying. >> But you would know more about what's going on in your marriage than we do. But you need to make sure that you need to take action with that. If you if you want to quit this, then either y'all need to like go to counseling or y'all need to cut it short. How she get dramatic going? >> Has she always been like that? >> Like I keep saying chick check your laptop. She got open page right now. She is patrolling. She is on 24. >> Why you staying with her, man? >> She tapped my arm. >> That's the only reason. >> No, that's my wife. But she do stuff like this. She'll be the first one trying to get me out. That's what I'm tired of. >> I want to go uh in there and look for his uh something. >> Okay. Look, can wait. Can you get my phone? And can you grab my cigarette? They right beside yourself. >> Where the cigarettes at? >> Right beside the phone. >> Okay. >> Tell me what happened from your perspective. >> Can I say this? >> As the situation became clearer, the stepfather continued to blame his wife, claiming she had turned the children against him. I didn't you officer if you're going to continue >> and you know it's the truth. >> If you're going to continue why you >> you're going to go to jail. I'm not going >> Why? Why? No. Please stop. That's why we're here, man. >> Do you want to go to the hospital to get checked out and they can see what's going on? >> Get your eye checked out. >> I was sleeping with my son with this wrench. You run up the stairs. Violating me. I'm sleeping with my son in the bed. Who are you? >> Officer Storm. Bro, >> you're a [ __ ] >> Okay. >> How would you feel if somebody came up your stairs and violated your right? I'm laying with my son in bed sleeping. My son is screaming. I was there the whole >> you you a >> you a messable man. >> And so both husband and wife continued to resist making the situation difficult to manage. >> First of all, I didn't want to take you here. >> No, that's what the you wanted. >> It's not what I wanted. I actually think you're >> take them here. >> I think you're a good person. I didn't want to take you here. >> No, you don't think that because I reason why you arrested me cuz you did not like the way I was talking to you and I think >> No, that's true. Florida will show you a different view. mother suspected of placing her child in a situation. >> You know, I remember having a conversation about trying to [clears throat] sell. >> On March 5th, 2025 in Palaca, Florida, just as the day began, police received a call concerning [music] an 18-month-old girl. At first, it seemed like nothing more than a child crying, but within minutes, troubling signs from the mother herself began to emerge. >> They were worried about the baby >> because she's throwing a tantrum. more. They wanted to make sure the baby was okay and that you were okay. >> I'm fine. I'm trying to find emergency housing. >> Let's walk over here so we're not right in front of Big C. >> So, what's the situation? What uh what are you going through right now? >> I'm going through a lot. >> Like, as far as housing, why why are you looking for emergency housing? >> Because I had a boyfriend who used to the out of me and I don't want it around my kid. >> Lee Connley will not take me. >> Lee Connley won't take you? >> No, because it was a conflict of interest. to where one of their staff members told my husband where I was. >> So, we only dealt with them and they won't take me. >> Right. >> Um I I'm willing to do public assistance, public housing. I'm willing to do melon manner. I don't have a ride. >> Well, I know you didn't have a license for a while cuz we had an issue with that. So, I remember that. >> If you can please help me in any way. >> Well, okay. So, I've got our victim's advocate coming out. She's going to talk to you. She's going to bring some stuff for the baby. >> Where? She'll she'll be coming over here. Um >> I'm going to be going over to the H&R block. >> Well, she's coming over here. She'll be here shortly. She was getting it back together now. She was trying to figure out get information on >> I need I need a I I need emergency. >> She might be able to help you and kind of or kind of steer me in the right direction as well. Lee Connley was actually what I was going to try to recommend, but obviously that's kind of not the uh >> you know, just because the baby cries doesn't mean that they're in trouble. I'm sure you have kids. >> I do. Um I have a son and a stepdaughter. >> I'm just um I I can't even believe this. Who called? Am I allowed to go station? Am I allowed to go? >> Well, if you I've got like I said, I've got a victim coming out here that's going to try. >> Can I sit in the car or something? I'm freezing. I don't want to sit you in back of my car or anything and I can't put you in the front. Can >> let's walk over to this parking lot by my car. >> I'm freezing and I'm quite sure that we're the old people that were the ones who called. >> I'm not sure who exactly called. All I know is they called and they came in. I spoke with the the staff and they kind of gave me a rundown of the situation. >> Yeah, they passed. >> Yeah. >> The conversation went on revealing more details about her living situation. >> So, that's that's at least good. Um, you got some food. The baby got some food. >> Yeah. Well, basically what happened was, and if you want you want to know the true story, I got married, my mother signed a paper when I was 16. I became a nurse. Um, I became a business owner. At 33, I got the board and my husband and titled everything I've ever owned since I was 16 years old. So, >> lean against the car if you want. It's warmer. >> Huh? >> The front of the car is warmer if you lean against it. So he has got control of everything since I was 16 years old. I have new gas has exclusive possession of my bank account, my home, and my vehicles. >> What was the situation with that uh that old Crown Vic you were driving for a while, the one that was attacking? >> That was my office that he was letting me use because my husband was trying to railroad me. >> And then I know >> I'm getting another vehicle. I know we had um we had pulled you over and you were with the guy that had a warrant a little while back. Was that her dad? >> Yes. >> Is that the husband in question? >> No. >> No. >> After finding no immediate, the police left. Shortly after, a victim services officer arrived, saw that the baby was safe for the moment, and provided [music] new clothes and diapers. The mother was also allowed to leave the scene. But the story didn't end there. The little girl suddenly appeared at the police station, accompanied by an employee from a nearby business. From that point, a series of surprising details about the mother began to unfold. >> This morning I came 7 a.m. She was the mom Jessica was laying on the AC unit and she was in the Dollar General's buggy and it was drizzling. She was sleep and the baby was in there hollering. So then I said, "Do you want me to go, you know, go to the store and get her some stuff and she can sit in here?" And she was like, "No, no, no. Do you have some money? Do you have some money?" I said, "No, ma'am. I have money to get your daughter stuff." And she was like, "No, you could just have her. You could just have her." I was like, "Ma'am," I said, "No." I said, "Do you need help? Like, do you need to call DC so they can help you?" And she said, "No, don't worry about it." And she snatched her daughter out the top part and left her in the bottom part. Then she went to Dollar General and that's I guess why they had a police report this morning for Dollar General, her throwing stuff on top of the little girl. And she came back to our job. At this point, she's yelling at the customers in there to give her money. I said, "Ma'am, you got to leave. Like, you you have to leave now." She said, "Oh, I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving." And then she kept she went took her in the bathroom and she was hitting her. I don't know why. I don't know what she did or a child can't do anything, but I'm just saying I don't know what the reason was. She left out of there. When she left out of there, I called the police. I think the man that just came here, I waved him down the track and I said, "Could you follow me?" She's right there. and she literally pushed the um the buggy in the road and laughed about it and then hurried up and grabbed it. And I'm like, "Is she crazy?" So, at this point, I'm following her into Dollar General. I told my manager what I was doing. I seen the police officer. They were like, "Okay, and she's still at the store. We can charge her." And I'm like, "All the stuff she done did this, baby. We y'all should be charging her for that." So, they said it was my word over hers. Okay. She came back. I seen her walking back towards our job. This was all last night. >> No, this some of this is from today. >> Yes. So, she's walking past the job with some other girl and she said, "Come here. Come here." Cuz I trust you. Come here. So, I'm like, "Oh my god." I asked two of my co-workers to walk out with me cuz I don't know what's in somebody mind. As I walked over there, she said, "If you give me $500 right now, you can have it." I said, "Have what?" She said, "Have her." And she put her down in the leaves. And I said, "Are you serious? This at this time, the baby got up and she was getting ready to walk in the road. you know, Krill is a busy road. And I grabbed the baby and I picked her up and I said, "I'm not giving you no money." She said, "Well, just have her because it's just it's just too much for me." I said, "What is too much for you?" I said, "Do you want do you need help?" Again, I'm asking you, "Do you need help?" And she said, "No, I don't need help. I just don't want the" And I said, "Okay." And I got the baby. I was crying. I walked across the street and I tried to wipe her up and I put her in my car and I told her, "She is going to be okay. This should not go on with a child. >> The atmosphere at the police station grew tense. Detectives were brought in to piece together the entire sequence of events. >> Now, they was willing to give her the money. They was like, "Whatever it takes for her to get away." I was like, "No, we not we're not enabling her." Yeah. I was like, "We not enabling her and we're not breaking the law for her either." >> I know your hands are tied this morning. I wasn't mad. I just I can't see how big it is. No, I have since I talked to you. I've been trying to find a reason to arrest her. So, I was just looking for her right before you showed up here. She stole from the dollar store and I went to go arrest her and I talked to the dollar store ladies and they said I asked them. I said, "Does she have a baby with her?" And they said, "No." And that's where I was like, "Eh." And they said she was mumbling on something about she gave the baby to her sister for the weekend. And I was like, "No." Cuz when we we spoke to her earlier, she said she didn't have anyone. It it already shot up red flags. And then not even 10 minutes later, I was doing something in my car and they called and said you were here with her and I was like, "Oh, >> thank God for y'all. I promise." >> Thank you, man. No, you're you're the hero here. >> What time did we get the shoplifting where she stole the sandals and walked out of >> That wasn't long ago. That was like maybe 30 minutes ago. >> They were black. >> I don't know. She had Dollar General with some samples. >> I got that. She stole the timeline for the >> when she at that time the clerks were saying that she uh that she didn't have the baby with her then she was saying that she gave the baby to her sister for the weekend. >> No, I'm not saying I don't know if it's going on but >> let me see how long she obviously was. >> I mean we know she didn't have the baby at that point. So >> and she knows what time she got the baby. Yeah, I had I had like 2:45. >> She's still over there around for 11 years somewhere. >> She is. She's been walking back. >> She could have got far. I bet she's either in the other dollar store or Burger King. >> The little girl was then placed under temporary protective supervision by DCF. [music] And the mother after 2 days on the run, she was finally brought back to the police station. >> What's your daughter's name? >> How old is >> 18 months old. She's my world and I'm hers. Okay. Where is >> was supposed to be returned to me last night by 6:00 p.m. I got called by the police and told me that DCF got involved. I went to I went and filed my taxes at H&R Block. While I was there, one of the members of my church filed my taxes for me. She asked me if she could keep my daughter overnight. She said she wanted to buy her some clothes. She know I just got out of a marriage and I'm trying to get back on my feet. I just got a stable place to stay. We exchanged numbers. I told her I had to have her back by 6:00 p.m. She could only stay one night. She wanted to keep her for a week. I told her, "No way." I have five witnesses to this. Okay. The next thing I know, my I got served with a order that was stating that I am not allowed to go to H&R Block and any attempts that I made to contact her, I could not reach her. So, when I called the DCF case worker yesterday, he told me that he was supposed to meet me with my daughter that for some reason he had her, which I'm not even understanding why because the the H&R Block employee, the one I go to church with, was supposed to be staying the night with her one night. >> Okay. And what what's the worker that you go to church with? What's her name? >> Her name's I don't know what her legal name. I can pull up everything in my phone. I thought she was a good lady. Apparently her and my sister are working together. She's the black girl with the pink hair. >> Well, you don't know last name. >> To be honest with you, I'm I'm having an anxiety attack. My child just got taken from me and I'm a nurse and I could be losing everything. >> So, how long have you known? >> I've known her on and off for like 10 years. Like I said, she asked me several times. I told her multiple times, no, I don't like my child to go anywhere. She repetitively asked me. She said, "I can help you with clothing. I can help keep you with diapers. Please let me help you." One of my friends was there. Her name is She said, "Jay, just get the help you need it right now." I said, "One night only. Only one night." And when she didn't return my call, I told her that I was going to call the police and report my daughter missing if she didn't produce my child. >> After initially placing her daughter in an unsafe situation, the mother changed her account, claiming that her child had been taken without consent. I needed I needed the help. I've been going through DCF to try to get housing and stuff. Like I said, I could I could use the help with the clothes and stuff. I never asked her for money. Never. But like I said, >> you remember having a conversation about trying to sell >> what? I'm just >> No. >> I would never sell my child. Okay. >> No. Oh, I I can't even believe that was even stated. My child is my life. If I lost her, I would kill myself. I can't live without my baby. But like I said multiple times, she she came and called me over there and she actually came out with three other employees and they asking me for my baby. And I should have known something was up then, but I stupidly thought people still were decent human beings and trying to help somebody. She described herself as caring while recounting a complicated story of her child being taken. >> I'll follow through on everything today. Soon as I found out all of this, I made contact with the officer. I've done everything I'm supposed to do. >> My big question is you said you called her that night and then did you call her again throughout the night? Did you call her the next day about >> Yes, I did call her. I had on my phone. >> But here's my my my my contradiction. You said that you're like, you know, you're very concerned about your your daughter. you were trying to do the best for her, which I get. You know, if somebody can provide something right now that you can. There's nothing wrong with that. People helping people, right? It takes a community. It takes a village to to raise a child, right? However, here's my thing. >> I'm sorry. Can y'all can Can you please take this off? I have a bad cut and it's really hurting mom. >> We we can't take him off. Okay. But but listen, so you know, you called her that same night concerned. She said she said, "No, I'm not returning your baby." >> No, she never said that. She never said that. She was supposed to be going to the outlet to buy my baby. >> Yeah, but you said that you called her that night when the officers left. >> But then when I got the >> the ban >> the ban, that's when I told her if she didn't produce my child at the time she said that I was going to be calling the police. >> So it wasn't like she said, oh, I'm not I'm not bringing it back. You were just trying to reiterate, hey, we had a deadline. You better you better have her there. So it wasn't like you were asking for it right then and there. You just we're asking you to keep the deadline, >> right? I said, "I appreciate what you are trying to do. I don't know why I just got banned from H&R Block. This is making me very uncomfortable at this point. Feel like something's going on more than what we've talked about. If you don't produce my child, I'm going to call police and I will report her missing." >> Gotcha. So, >> this would have been Wednesday that we hit yesterday. And before the deadline, DCF called me. The DCF case worker called me before she was even supposed to be back. and he told me he had my daughter and that he was supposed to drop her off to me at 9:00 a.m. >> You don't do you remember the DCF worker's name? >> If I could have my phone, I could give you everything you just asked for. >> At the same time, she spoke of struggles and unhealthy relationships, adding more layers [music] of complexity to the case. >> So, you got the call from the DCF worker Wednesday morning? >> No, yesterday. >> Yeah, that's Wednesday. >> I've been crying all night. I'm sorry. I'm a nervous wreck. I want my baby. >> Yeah. Just to reiterate, you said has pink hair. >> Pink hair. >> Oh my. >> I think she to be honest with you, my sister, me and her have a very bad relationship. She's had sex with my husband for years. And she actually used to open up the door and let him beat on me. She has wanted my child. She's told lies to the to my entire family. I believe she sent to do that on purpose. >> And this is your sister >> because she laughed yesterday in my face and told me I was going to be in jail at 300 p.m. So they said the sounds petty but it's true. >> I mean what would be the reasoning they would do that? >> Same reason she my husband she's spiteful. >> The mother was charged with three counts of child abuse and one count each of child unlawful of a child and selling or hindering a minor for money or property. Under Florida law, she could face up to 55 years in prison and fines of up to $40,000. Court records show her bond was set at $225,000. [music] The mother in this video may have been in conflict or crisis, buting a child or putting them in unsafe situations is unacceptable and legally punishable. This is irresponsible behavior and must be held accountable under the law. Perhaps what stays with us most after this video is the question, what if things had paused sooner? What if emotions had been steadied? What if someone had truly listened in time? But life has no rewind button. What remain are the lessons sometimes learned at a very high emotional cost.
