And he come out here, get his doorway open, you know, his elephant and his aunt's been sleeping for an hour. I come out. I said, "Mike, but the dog is he's been driving his dog, you know." I said, "Mike," I said, "You're drunk." I said, "Close the door." I said, "Go to bed or leave. You can't sit, you know." And he freaking gets all right. And he freaking he pulled the damn knife on me. I didn't realize he pulled a knife. >> All right. >> I mean, look at my freaking neck, dude. >> Okay. Put pressure on it, please. Yeah, that's what I had. And he stabbed me here, too. He got me. I before I even realized he had, you know, I you know, >> okay, how about this? >> I realized I tried hanging on so he wasn't stabbing me anymore. I'm like, what the are you doing? >> Okay, just sit down. Have a seat on the chair. Just relax. Okay. >> I just trying to get some pants on. My is on. It's like two. >> Your pants are the least of my concern right now. >> I know, but I don't even know how bad is it that I got stab puncture right like see I think that's all the puncture one right there. Right here somewhere. Okay. I can see just >> Is that where it is? >> You got a couple of them. >> Is there? >> Mhm. >> Jesus Christ. >> Okay. I'm going to go get a different pair of gloves on. >> Yeah. I need to get this shirt off if I can, too. >> Well, leave it on for right now, but I'm going to take a picture of you first. >> Yeah. Jesus Christ. >> I'm going to do that since we know that you're not bleeding out right now. >> No, I'm lucky. >> Just keep keep pressure on the neck. >> Be lucky. >> Keep tight pressure as much as you can. >> If it starts to hurt, >> okay, have just have a seat. Quit moving around. Have a seat. Okay. I'm going to take some pictures of you right now. >> Yeah. Freaking blood. >> Okay. Right there's fine. Can you stand up straight at all? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> You look at my neck or what? >> Yep. I'm going to do everything. I know that you're in a lot of pain, but the quicker the quicker I get this done, the quicker that >> Oh, I know. I know. I I know. I just can't believe this guy would I can't believe he tricked me that stupid to trick him. >> Do you know if he took the knife with him? >> I guess that he must have. I don't know. I was trying to get out of his hand and say, "Mike, what do you what kind of knife was it? >> Fold them up and it had at least a 3-in blade on with, you know, handle. He was hanging on to it. It was >> kind of like a utility knife. >> Pocket knife. >> Regular kind of like Yeah. Small reg not utility knife, but it had regular like hunting blade on it. Okay. That's why I I realized like I said I didn't even feel >> Eddie just stop >> this [ __ ] now. Then I realized my blood is all over. >> Got a knife. >> Can you look up just a little bit? >> I was like Jesus. >> Just for your 43 is about a 4 inch laceration about almost an inch deep to the right side of his neck. >> At this time it's not bleeding. Um, he also has a couple puncture wounds on his right rib cage area as well. >> Time for it. >> God. >> Well, here's the deal. >> Yeah. >> Right now, the bleeding isn't going very hard. Can you peel it off a little bit? I want to just see how fast it's bleeding. I know. >> Okay. Well, at least the bleeding's not >> No, I know. I know. I know the pressure. >> I know, but I'm >> So, the good news is >> start. Yeah. >> Are you getting Let it sit down. >> Yeah. >> Right in that chair. >> Yeah. >> Chairs and stuff can be >> No, I I know. I know. I know. That's why >> I'm going to check the rest of you. Okay. >> This is Eddie. He has a pretty significant cut to the just below his jaw on his neck >> and then a couple wounds to his right upper rib cage area. >> I don't getting pictures and [snorts] >> ribb from the knifeank >> and then the biggest one is on his neck where he's holding. Yeah, I can absolutely. >> I I I had years ago I had a bad I had work at one time. I had a piece of glass cut my leg and I was like I had about 40. >> So Eddie >> Yeah. >> Just listen to them do what they want cuz >> Okay. No, I know. >> You've lost too much blood and your blood pressure is super low and your color is not good. You're walking outside >> already. I went through now. >> You're going to walk outside and you're going to drop like a bad sack of potatoes. >> I So let them work on you. >> Just trust them. You got any water in there, babe? Otherwise, there's a cold bottle of water that way. Did you see the vehicle just >> Well, there's one in the fridge. I'd like to at least get some water in. >> You take a sip here. So, lips a little bit. >> No, I fine. No, cuz I just either >> just let me know before you guys go. >> Offender did show up to his boss's address briefly and left. I'm going to end up following you so I can talk to him. >> So when So when they were wrestling on the ground, Gail, >> was Michael coming up with this knife and trying to stab? >> I didn't even see him pull it up. I didn't know he even got stabbed until he told me he told me. >> So you weren't able to see Michael making any gestures trying to stab Eddie? >> No. >> Okay. And you said Eddie's your boyfriend? >> Yeah. How long have you guys been dating? >> Four years. >> How long have you guys lived together here? >> Well, he was in prison for DUI for a year, but >> you living together before that and he got out in August. >> This August? >> Yeah. So, we've been living here since. >> And has Michael been living here since August as well? >> Uh, no. >> When's how long? >> Just a few months. >> Few months. Approximately when? >> Oh, god. I don't even know. >> [ __ ] I don't know. Maybe 3 4 months. Three, four, >> four months maybe. >> So, >> like November. >> Yeah, probably. Or right before November. Yeah, he was here on my birthday. My birthday November 1st. So, >> okay. I'm going to take some pictures of you. I'm going to take an overall one of you and then I'm going to take a picture of your right thumb. >> Okay. >> So, obviously Michael's your nephew. You said he's lived here since Novemberish. since October. I think October cuz he was here on my birthday already. So >> So October. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Pretty sure it's October. >> So obviously you've lived together for that amount of time. He's your nephew. >> Um you got involved with their altercation. You were pulling Eddie off of Michael. >> Yeah. >> And that's when the cut occurred. >> No. Oh, this. Yeah. >> Now I know it's going to sound stupid, but did you give permission at all during that altercation to be cut? >> Oh god. No. And does it is it causing you pain? >> No, it's just I was just going to put proxy on, put a band-aid on it. >> Does it hurt though? >> Yeah, it hurts a little bit, but >> on a scale of 1 to 10, what would you put it at? >> Probably three or four only. >> So that's pain. If it hurts, >> that's what we're trying to get at. It makes a difference. >> Okay. >> We know you're tough, but I mean, if it hurts, you just have to say yes, it hurts. >> Believe me, I'm not. >> So, I took pictures of the blood trail, >> him and his t-shirt, >> um his wounds already. I'm going to follow him to whatever hospital they go to. >> I need you to hold down the fort >> cuz once we leave here, we lose our scene. >> Okay. >> All right. So, um, Brooke, I talked to Zach Brooke. I'm going to have Brooke talk to you and then you guys can decide >> cuz I haven't been able to talk to him because I was more worried about his wounds and getting him to calm down. >> Okay. because he was amped and I want to be able to have him just be able to calmly talk. >> Yeah, there >> instead of frantically trying to get out information, >> I guess. Do you mind if I go talk to him in the ambulance right now? Go for it. >> Okay, I'll just leave this a minute. >> Let's see. My niece just pulled up out. >> Yeah, I just told them they had to wait because technically this is a crime scene. >> Does that make sense? And then we just kind of have to try not come on the porch at least. No, >> no, nothing. >> Not right now. Um, I told him I told him that they just No, that's okay. No, that's all right. You're not in trouble for anything. It's just a matter of we have to take some precautions and we have to take a few minutes. >> Do you frequently go in his room? Is this >> Yeah, because I take care of the dog when he's at work. >> All right. >> But yeah, see that he was drinking that stuff. >> I don't see no empty bottle. Uh, but who knows what's in the Oh, there is a bottle down there. >> What is it? >> Vodka. This one's not open. So, he must have finished one already. >> Okay. Is there an empty one down there or anything at all? >> No, he's just got these. One, two, three, four, five, six can five in here. >> Okay. >> And one right there. This is getting dumped down. >> Well, just leave it there for now cuz like this is still a crime scene kind of a thing. So, I would I would ask you not to dump anything at the moment. his dog in when he gets drunk. He does that. >> He was picking on his dog. >> Yeah. >> And the poor dog. >> Yeah. Can we leave the dog in here for now? >> See, Bentley 34 23. >> And then uh >> Were you out here when it all happened? >> No, I was in my room sleeping. >> Oh. And >> I woke up and I didn't even know Eddie was out here till I heard yelling and I came out here and uh Mikey went after Eddie and Eddie flipped him on the floor and and that's when Mikey pulled a knife. >> Did he say anything when he had the knife out? >> Knife? I don't >> don't remember. >> That's okay. Any anywhere else you think I can check other than just around the area driving around that we might find? >> No, that's the only thing I know or Quick Trip or something. >> Quick trip in the Dells. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> That's where he goes. >> Do you want to sit down and you by all means you can sit down over there and relax. >> No, I'd rather sit in a porch. >> Friendship 1060. >> Do you want to come step out and get some air? That's okay. By all means. I just can't have you walking out to the road and >> chitchatting with others. So, >> do you know if it's a Does he drive a white van or red van? White with red red lettering. Okay. >> Can't find him. >> Possibly. [clears throat] >> Sheriff's office. >> Yeah. How you doing? >> Are you Mike? >> Michael. >> What's that? >> Right here. >> Okay. Where's he at? >> Right here. Come on. >> Michael, >> do you have any weapons on you? >> No. >> Okay. Can you Can you step? >> Okay. Step on out here toward me, >> dog. Get in here now. Come on. >> Okay. Do you have any injuries or anything? >> Just keep your hands Keep your hands up. >> Sorry. My ribs on the right side. >> Okay. Walk walk on over to my squad here. >> Okay. I got to pat you down real quick and then I'll get your statement from you. >> Okay. Do you need an ambulance for your injuries? >> I don't know. They're pretty bad. >> Can you wait at the house or Thank you. >> They're pretty >> Okay. Walk over to the front of my car. >> Okay. >> Okay. Just stand right here in the front. Right over there. >> Yep. >> Right here. Just right here. Right in the center. Okay. Wait. Right there. >> Okay. I'm sorry. So, you said your your ribs are injured. Do you need an ambulance? >> No. Oh, they're really sore. >> Just sore. Okay. Nothing bad. >> Okay. I don't know if they're broken or >> Are you bleeding at all? >> No. >> Okay. >> I'm not going to do anything. >> Okay. All right. >> Promise you. >> You don't have any weapons on you or anything I need to be aware of? >> No. >> Okay. I promise you. >> All right. Just got to pad search you real quick here and then like I said, I'll get your statement. No problem. >> All right. You're going to be cool with me here if I talk to you for a minute? >> All right. I promise you. >> So, I see you got blood on you. Is that your blood or is that somebody else's? Well, I stabbed myself earlier doing work. >> Okay. >> With a sliver. >> What do you mean earlier? How how long ago? >> Well, when I was working, I had a sliver that jab me right through my vein. >> How long ago? >> Uh, probably like 3 hours ago. But >> can you give me your full first and last name? >> Michael. I love my aunt Gail that she's dating Eddie and everything else, but I try to stay in the room. Sorry. >> Okay, >> I'll sit you can sit down if you want to. >> Um, but he got all pissed off for some reason. Started yelling at me and whatever came at me and >> Okay. Was there some Was there an argument or something? >> Yeah. I I don't even know what the argument was about. Okay. >> Honestly, sorry. I've been drinking a little too much. >> Okay. How much have you had to drink? probably um you know 8% cans. >> They're like I probably had like the steel reserve 8% cans. >> Okay. How many of those? >> I've had like three or four of those. >> Okay. >> And he came at me and we got into it and Okay. So, you said you were in your room to start off with. What What time did you get back to the house tonight? >> Okay. >> What time is it right now? >> Uh, it's close to midnight right now, I think. Yeah, >> a little, >> but I usually always just stay in my room and >> don't want to talk to anybody else, you know. I just wouldn't stay in there and it's just me and my dog. >> Mhm. >> That's about it. >> So, you you were in your room though and then did I'm sorry. You you said that he started arguing with you or how how did all that start again? I'm sorry. >> Are you yelling at me about something? >> And I'm sorry, who is he? >> Eddie. >> Eddie. What's Eddie's uh last name? >> I don't know. It That's my aunt's boyfriend. >> Okay. Is that your >> That's a weird last name. It's like It has a bunch of Z's and >> Okay. Is it Eddie's house then or is it John's house? Okay. >> No. No. Well, Eddie rented it from um his friend Phil and um my aunt is dating him, so I moved in with them and we're all living there together. It's just him, my aunt, and me. >> Okay. How long have you lived there then? >> Um since November. >> Okay. >> November 1st is Yeah. when me and my uh girlfriend split up. So, since November. I don't >> Okay. All right. So, you said Eddie started yelling at you. You remember what he was yelling at you about? >> It I don't remember, honestly. >> Okay. Did you come out of your room then? >> Well, yeah. I was coming out of my room to go outside. >> Mhm. >> And that's >> So, what happened then? >> That's what I remember. And that's about it. I probably should have talked to a lawyer, so I rather talk to a lawyer. >> Okay. Well, at the moment, you're not under arrest. I'm just trying to figure out what happened here. >> Well, I just I >> was So, what happened between the two of you? Was there some sort of an altercation? >> Yeah. He just started yelling at me. He he did it before like where >> like I wasn't recycling something the right way or something and he came at me or he got in my face like, "Oh, you need to rinse off your dishes, this and that." But >> okay, >> you know, like he gets pissed off about the dumbest things. Um, okay. So, I bought a bigger garbage can for recyclables because they were filling up too fast this and that, but I don't know. >> Okay. >> I don't know. >> Okay. So, he was upset about the recycling. >> Well, no, that was another time. >> Oh, okay. So, >> that was a different time. But this time, I don't know. Guy drank and I know he's not supposed to have whatever. He's on um ES extended supervision. Okay. Parole or whatever. >> Okay. >> He's not supposed to drink, but I keep my alcohol in my room and I drink in my room. I'm not on parole or probation or none of that [ __ ] >> Okay. >> So, I stay in my room. >> Mhm. >> As much as I can. >> Okay. >> And try not to bother him. So, the only time I come out is to take my dog outside and or if I go to have a cigarette or if I'm going to cook something in the microwave or something cuz I don't, you know, well, >> I don't cook food. >> Yeah, I just microwave everything. That's no problem. >> So, but so was there some sort of altercation or something between the two of you? I don't even remember what he said. >> We got called for an altercation, but I want to get >> You started yelling at me for >> I want to get your side of what happened. >> I don't even remember what he yelled at me for. Sorry. >> I just got I drink too much. I >> don't. >> Okay. So >> So how did all this blood get all over your face and in your ear and on your hand and on your >> Well, because you came at me and I always >> How did he come How did he come at you? >> I rather talk to a lawyer. >> Okay. Well, like I said, you're not under arrest right now. I'm just trying to get >> I was told not go to jail. >> Okay. I was told one side of things here and I want to get your side cuz there's always two sides to every story, right? >> I know. I know. >> So, this is your opportunity to tell your side of what happened >> cuz otherwise I'd >> rather not. >> Okay. Well, here let me tell you >> I'm sorry. >> Let me tell you what he told me. >> I'd rather talk to >> what what he told me. >> What he told me is that uh or I should say what he told dispatch is that you had attacked him with a knife. Apparently, he's got a pretty good gash in his neck and a stab wound in his rib cage. So, what can you tell me about that? >> I'd rather talk to a lawyer. >> Okay. So, you said he came at you. Was there some sort of altercation then or you at least >> fasten up to that much? >> There was an altercation. >> Okay. >> I don't remember what it was about, what he said or anything like that, but >> Okay. When you say he came at you, what do you mean by that exactly? Can you kind of describe >> got upset and >> came towards me and wanted to fight, you know? >> Okay. >> Pushed me. >> Was he my ribs are all bruised and >> Okay. >> He pushed me and knocked me down and then I got up and that's when >> Okay. So, he pushed you and knocked you down. Um >> cuz my bruised I got my ribs all right here and my back. >> Okay. >> All >> how did >> Okay. On the right side. Anything on the left? >> No. >> Okay. >> Cuz there was a big cabinet right by my room and the door for my room. That's where I always come out of. And then there was the little cabinet that's sitting there. Okay. >> Did you hit those then or what? What did the cabinets do? >> I don't know. When he pushed me or whatever, I hit my ribs and my back and everything. >> Okay. >> Sorry. But so my everything hurts right here on my backside. Okay. So, but >> Okay. So, what happened after he pushed you then? >> I got up and I felt I should defend myself and I >> okay >> just went towards him but told him get away from me because I don't want nothing wrong to happen and that's it. I rather talk to my lawyer or lawyer. >> Okay. Well, you can certainly contact me if you'd like. Like I said, right now I'm just trying to just trying to get your side because all I have to go on is his side right now. I know. >> Okay. So, you said you felt like you should defend yourself >> and what further it like I didn't. >> He just kept coming. Well, I rather talk to a lawyer. >> Okay. Did he push you anymore or >> I don't know. >> So, you rather talk to your lawyer? >> Yeah. A long time ago. About >> Okay. 10 minutes ago. >> Okay. All right. Sure. I'll have a chance [snorts] back. >> No, that's fine. >> Do you have any injuries we need to know about? >> Yeah. on my whole right side of my ribs and my um side. That's fine. >> All right. I have to patch you down. Do you have anything sharp or anything like that on you I have to worry about? >> Oh, >> yeah. I searched them already. We can just put them in my car if you want to. >> Okay, that works. Right on the side here. All right, we can transport you to ambulance, get you medically cleared. Okay, just so you know. >> Thank you. >> That's no problem. >> I just didn't know if it was ambulance worthy or if we can we'll just get you cleared and checked out. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. If you don't want to talk to him, that's [clears throat] fine. So, >> hi there. >> Good. Are you Cy? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah, I called he he just I just got off of work and then uh I see how's it going. I seen him pull up and I called over there because I heard she just went over there. >> Okay. >> And I was like uh I was like, "You need to turn yourself in, you know." So >> Okay. Um C O R E Y. >> Yeah. C O R E Y. >> So you said you just got home. Was he already here? >> I just pulled up and he came in. He came knocking at the door and I was just hearing what's going on as I was coming home from work. So, this is a little and uh came in, sat down right on the couch. And then uh I was like uh the police are looking for you. Uh I I didn't get the whole story or whatever, but supposedly stab somebody or something. I I didn't get the whole story, but I was like, "You need to turn yourself in." >> I seen you guys come by and I think he was kind of hesitant, so I kind of waved to you guys so you guys know he's here. >> So, >> okay. What time did he get here? >> Uh what time is it right now? Probably 10 minutes ago. Couldn't have been long. So I I called uh my girlfriend as soon as he got here. So and then she called said something to you guys. So yeah, that's Yep. So he probably just left and then was on his way here and pulled up. >> Okay. >> So I called as soon as I seen the truck pull up and came in. He's I got I don't know what happened. He's like he came at me or something and I was like I go like you need to turn yourself in. I go they're looking for you right now. So >> Okay. What's your relation to him? Uh, not uh girlfriend's cousin. >> Okay. >> Nothing to me. >> All right. >> All right. So, he knocked on the door, asked to come in, and then did he say anything about what happened? >> Uh, no. He was trying to explain the story. I don't know if he drinking or I don't know, but >> Okay. >> He said Eddie came at him. I know the other guy Eddie and he was like, "Oh, he came at me or something and I told him not to come at me and something and that's about the only thing I that I caught. Sorry." >> Okay, no problem. Did you let him in the house? >> Yeah, he he sat right here on the end of the couch right here. And I I opened the door and then I called right away and I was like, "Hey, I was like, they're looking for you. You can't stay here." You know, I didn't want to, you know, here. >> All right. So, he said this Eddie guy came at him basically. He told him he should turn himself in. Is there anything else that I should know about? >> No. >> No. Okay. Um, did you observe any injuries or anything on him? I saw he's got some blood on his No, he's got a hat in here. Hat. Yeah. >> Did you see the knife out? >> No. >> Did he bring a knife or anything in? Yeah, you can just set those right there. I'll him grab him cuz he's got gloves on. >> Did you see a knife right there? >> No, I didn't. >> Um, have you guys walked up to your recyclables recently at all? >> No. No. No. But he walked through. Yeah. Yeah. Go ahead. Yep. Yep. >> All right. Nothing else you can remember then that I should be aware of? No. Okay. >> All right. Sounds good. Appreciate your time. Yeah, it's church and stuff. >> Uh, yeah. I told him right turn your story. Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, you said >> figure your story out when you get, you know. >> So, you said he's your girlfriend's cousin? >> Yeah. Her cousin. Yeah. Her what's her name again? >> Lori. >> Lori. >> Yeah. I knew she called you guys. I called her right away. >> That's probably down there. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> All right, guys. >> Laura, anything else? >> Um, no. We'll get this tote out of here. Just give us a few minutes. So, >> hang on. They're not going to sit. >> All right. >> All right. >> Edward sustained non-fatal injuries and was provided medical treatment. A blood draw later revealed that Michael had a.178 blood alcohol concentration. He was found guilty for first-degree recklessly endangering safety, causing injury by negligent use of a weapon, and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration third offense. Michael was sentenced to 4 and 1/2 years in prison and ordered to pay $2,880 in fines.
