DON'T TOUCH ME. DON'T TOUCH ME. >> [screaming] >> I DON'T TOUCH ME. I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M EVEN HERE. I'm a good mom. Some parents [music] still see themselves as good even when their choices unintentionally place their children in challenging situations. Behind what may seem like ordinary incidents lies a reminder of responsibility, life's pressures, and the [music] importance of keeping every child safe. A tense and complicated situation unfolded in Florida where a man decided to go public with concerns about HIS WIFE. ON APRIL 23RD, 2024, [music] Charlotte police received a call about a mother reportedly behaving erratically which raised [music] concerns about her child's safety. Officers have been called to the home multiple times before, but this incident escalated when the mother began banging on the door with the child inside. A situation requiring immediate police attention. Hey. How you doing? What's that? What's your name again, man? I've been here plenty of times. How you doing? So, uh today's the day she's drinking. She went down to the bar at about 2:30. Just give us a minute, all right? I will talk to you, yes. Let's talk over here. What's going on? She was upset this morning. We got in a fight. She saw me all day that she's going to go drink if I don't cut my [ __ ] She went to the bar. I told her if she goes to the bar it's over. She went to the bar, she came back. I went for a walk. So, I took a walk. I went down the bike path a little bit, came back, and back to the house. All the doors were locked. She locked the front screen door so I couldn't use my key to get in the house. And then I I got in the garage door. Yeah. The door in. So, she slammed She went outside, slammed the door so hard the door went inside the jam and got stuck. And then she said she came back 15 minutes later and she tried to get in the door and she's like, "You locked me out." I was telling her I locked her out. She jammed the door and it wouldn't work. So, she the door in with the baby on the other side after I told her repeatedly the baby's on the other side of the door. Did and the She is a danger to the baby and herself right now. Not yet. Uh she was sleeping when I got home. So, I came back from my walk, I got in the house, she's passed out drunk in the room, and the baby's running around the house. So, that's a problem. I don't know what you do, but I'm trying to take control of my child and she won't give it to me. present to keep eyes on the baby? Yeah, I want her to be in my care and custody right now and I want her to stay away from the baby until she's not intoxicated. This is the last time that she was intoxicated, she locked the baby in the truck, she almost killed it. That was 2 weeks ago. Okay. All right. Are you going to be here still? Yeah, until I can find a way out. >> staying here today though with the child? >> Yes, unless I can get some a child >> Cuz you're not intoxicated. If I go talk to her and she talks I would like to someone sober here with the child. I wasn't sure if you were leaving cuz you got a backpack I I take this so she can't steal the Saturday. That's why I take Inside the house, officers spoke calmly with the mother >> [music] >> trying to understand the situation. And I just I That's all I want. Yeah. So, if he's okay and he can be calm coming back in the house having it in front of my daughter, that's all I'm asking. I'm going to talk to him before I leave. So, I'm you guys are good? He can come back in. I'm not stopping him. I'm going to do anything. He doesn't want to leave so he wants to make sure y'all are okay. I just want to make sure my daughter's not going I mean what? I said I don't want to make sure my daughter's not going to be involved in anything and he's clearly upset. I don't want it to escalate and have her in the middle of it. That's literally all I'm asking. As long as he's not going to escalate anything, I'm okay. Okay. Do you have any other questions? Just try to be civil and you need to separate. >> all I'm asking. Just Trust me, I You know, if there's an emergency call us, um but I hope that [snorts] we can, you know, resolve this and you get along with each other, okay? That's what I'm doing. Can we just talk? I'm not trying to fight. Yep. Yep. Have a good night. Initially, police treated it as a household disagreement [music] and hoped the couple could resolve it peacefully without further intervention. This is going to be documented. Um I hope that you guys can get along tonight. If there's an emergency, give us a call. Um but I hope we can resolve this now. What constitutes an emergency? When he gets he gets violent. Yeah, if if if it becomes Yeah, if it becomes violent then yeah, call us, but Okay. She says something to you outside before we leave so that we can make sure you guys are good. Okay. I'll talk to you then. All right. Yeah, I I appreciate it. Anytime, man. If you need us, you call us, okay? I hope I don't, man. >> so, too. I hope I don't have to see you until, you know, on a better occasion, but All right. Y'all have a better night, okay? All right. We're good here. Have a good night. Good night. Less than an hour later, another call came [music] in. When officers returned, the mother's partner provided additional details about what had happened. So, she was supposed to go for a walk. >> get off the road. Instead of going for a walk, she came down the street, came right back. She started accusing me of stealing her phone. I was looking for her phone in the house and then she just started straight Okay. just harassing me. So, I took my daughter into her room and I took my daughter into her room and I locked the door and I just ignored her. And then she came and hit the door and I'm sorry, my daughter making me responsible for. She's an idiot, but so she >> Does she have any weapons on her? No. No guns, no knives, no nothing? Hello, Samantha. What's going on? He woke up. He called the store and he got irritated because they told him to call in. He didn't want He wanted to work today. She likes to go headfirst off her bed. >> Okay. She is not shy. Okay. All right, if you just want to hang out out here for me, okay? Okay, do not go back in the house at the moment, all right? Go stay right there, okay? All right, just hang out right there for a second. He also shared video clips to support his account of the events. I'm showing you what she just did to me. You're not leaving with her. Oh, I'm not? No. Oh, are you leaving, right? SHE CALLED 911. IT'S OKAY, >> [laughter] >> I SCARED YOU. ALL RIGHT, SO WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOU TWO? WE'RE FIGHTING. I I didn't tell him >> Well, it must have not been for that long cuz we were just here like 20 minutes ago, right? >> Yeah, exactly. Cuz I don't like to leave my daughter by herself. >> Okay. You didn't want to put her in a stroller and take her with you? >> I would have, but the stroller's tires are popped. I need new tubes or something for it, but it's not working. >> How much have you had to drink tonight? Have I? None. You haven't had a drink? No. I smell alcohol coming off of you. We don't We don't want to I didn't say that, but you're insinuating something and what you're saying is false and I'm telling you that it's not going to happen. All right. Thank you. With two sides to the story, officers remained calm and asked for an accurate account from the mother. Will you stop running your teeth, baby? Won't do that. You're going to ruin your teeth. You're going to ruin your teeth. >> Did it get physical at any point between you two? You mean him? Yeah. I refuse to answer that. You don't want to answer that? I do not want to answer that. He was upset because I didn't let him sleep in, even though it was both our days off and I never get the chance to sleep in. So, it started there. He told me I was a worthless piece of [ __ ] That he was better off with his ex and I told him to better stop before it gets bad. Just stop while he's ahead. He stopped and then he continued. I left, I came back, I tried to explain to him why I was upset. He continued to insult me and I told him to get the [ __ ] out of my face. >> What happened right here at the door? No matter the circumstances, [music] a child's safety must always come first. Children should never be caught in the middle of adult conflicts. Their well-being, [music] peace of mind, and sense of security are what matter most. Also in Florida, a seemingly peaceful morning quickly became concerning [music] when several alligators were spotted near the riverbank. The kids shouldn't even be outside here by themselves. >> They They've been out I mean, you saw them at 8:30, 9:30. So, 2 hours. On April 9th, 2020, West Palm Beach police received a report about two young children near the edge of a local lake in an area known to have alligators. The kids shouldn't even be outside here by themselves. >> they've been out I mean, you saw them at 8:30. 9:30. So, 2 hours. They were probably out earlier than that. Yeah. They were in the parking lot. Okay, I please. You got to see them in the parking lot, you're saying? Yeah. He saw them playing out this morning. At 8:30. And then they were over there near the water? Officers spoke with neighbors and checked on the children to ensure they were safe and unharmed. Unless you open it. You open it? What the hell are you doing, you little punk? What? Yeah, I told you you don't go by my daughter by yourself. Yeah, I told you that. I have to run in. You know what? All right, I'll be back. All right, I'll try to stop by later on, okay? Perfect. Perfect. I'll see you later on. We're going to be here for a bit. Oh, I didn't get it though. So, we're going to be here doing some stuff like that. So, we don't really know what to do. Is that the yellow one? It's yellow and skinny, too. I didn't like the yellow. Okay. Residents were worried because this area is known for alligators occasionally coming close to shore, including one large animal previously spotted near homes. I remember we used to get calls when I used to work the gators would come up here. I'm saying there's some big gators in here. Yeah. And that was that. And then, you know, you know. Yeah. 8:30. Yeah. That's from 6:00. Yeah. Dude was like, "Yeah, this happens all the time." Then we spoke to the dad. The dad was like, "Yeah, this happens all Getting rough. It's probably some big gators. The gators There's no gators. There's absolutely no gators. All of these were domestic. All of them. I used to live in the apartment village that started here. It was across I used to pass it. Yeah, the other dude had a fresh Yeah. Yeah. Inside the home, officers found the mother momentarily unavailable and the condition of the house prompted them to check on the children to ensure their well-being. Wow, you got a lot of toys. Well, that's cool. You like it? I like that a lot. Who's this? Do you know this person's name? Do you know that guy? Yeah. That's Mike Wazowski. Really? Maybe. I used to Okay. Yeah, this one is on in the back. The mother faced two counts of child neglect without great bodily harm and was booked into Palm Beach County Jail. Under Florida law, she could face up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Being a parent isn't just about having children. It's about keeping them safe every single moment. Even small lapses in supervision can create risks, so staying attentive and aware is always essential. But Florida wasn't done yet. Another parent unintentionally turned a birthday outing into a tense situation. I'm a good mom. I've never had a felony. I've never said I've never said anything. On April 24th, 2024, Homestead police received a call about two young children left unsupervised at the beach. One little girl ended up in the water and was rescued just in time by a passerby. The mother was nearby and authorities quickly ensured the children's safety. You have another son with you? Yeah. How old is he? He's five. All right, go to the beach and look for him though. The mother claimed she was watching her child and had prepared [music] food, drinks, and a comfortable seat. However, the near accident highlighted the real risk her child had faced. She was right behind you with uh Listen, we were like a [ __ ] five adults here with two of my kids. Just came to to [ __ ] take them to the beach. >> I understand, but when you're questioning why somebody else is holding your daughter, that means that you should have been there to But literally, we were all paying attention to We were literally just leaving my kids. >> can everybody be paying attention if a honest citizen that don't even know you >> on right now? >> understand what we're really at the beach.
