Most of the time, sovereign citizen battles end up with a broken window and a shattered eagle at worst. This situation is way different because this driver felt that they were way above the law and decided they didn't even have to wait around for the traffic stop to finish. Hey, how's it going? >> Good. How you doing? >> Good. Can you put the window down a little bit more, please? >> I can hear you. >> All right. >> Sorry. >> What is the cause? >> Well, you're all tinted out and there's no plates. >> Right off the bat, the window is so dark. I mean, from this perspective, I can't even see inside. There could be all kinds of danger inside of the vehicle. And then just putting the window down just that little bit and the responses sound very sovereign. >> Where's the plates? >> One in the back and one in the front. >> Well, it says in the back. It's not a plate. It's not an Ohio plate or any state. >> Where you from? >> I'm from Speak up, please. >> That's not from Morocco. >> Morocco? >> Yeah. This country is called Morocco. >> Okay. Well, you need a plate. You don't have the plate issue. Do >> you have your registration? >> That's a plate issue by my console. I'm not from this area. >> Okay. So, where are you from? You said Morocco. >> A corporate state, Illinois. I'm from Illinois State. The corporation of Illinois. >> Okay. Do you have your license on you? >> I have my national my nationality card. That's it. It's my nationality card issued by my consulate. My consulate is >> the officer now is very sure that he's dealing with a sovereign citizen. This is common boilerplate responses about being a Moore, about my consulate, the whirling of the window down partially, the license plate. This is textbook sovereign citizen interaction. The challenge is if you look at that window, you can only see a reflection. It looks like a mirror and it might even be more challenging even for the officer at the scene. This is a dangerous situation and this lady doesn't seem like she's going to comply. >> That's not a license. >> All right. I need a license. You need a license to drive. >> I'm not driving. >> You're driving. We're not going to do the whole sovereign citizen thing. I'm not a sovereign citizen. >> That's what you're explaining to me. You're saying >> I'm not explaining that. >> You're saying you just have a >> I have a nationality card which is recognized by the Department of Justice. >> Well, I need a license. >> I'm not driving. I'm driving. >> You're driving. If you're on the road, you're driving. >> What was the reason for you pulling me over? >> Well, you're altering it out and you don't have plates. There's no visible plates. >> One in the front and one in the back. Where's your supervisor at? So, I can speak to the supervisor. >> You can talk to our supervisor when you're done at the station. >> Okay. I'm not going to the station. I didn't do anything illegal. We need your driver's license. >> I didn't believe anything. What was the reason for you? >> I've already given you two reasons. >> What's the reason? >> You're altering it out. >> That's illegal. >> I just need to speak to the supervisor. >> You can talk to him when we're done here. >> Okay. Wow. >> But we need to finish what we're doing. I need a driver's license and an insurance card for the vehicle. >> You are driving. >> I'm not driving. >> Yeah, you're Yep. You're driving. You're behind the >> Okay. So, am I transporting goods and people? >> It doesn't matter. You're driving on a You're driving a motor vehicle on the roadway in the United States of America. You're driving a car. >> This is an engine. It doesn't have a motor engine. >> You see here, this is the word game. This has an engine. It's not a motor. So, it's not a motor vehicle. I'm traveling. I'm not driving. Ways to circumvent and play around with the law. The UCC is what they always misquote. The UCC deals with services, commercial things, and they conflate what the criminal and traffic statutes are with this UCC. >> We're not going to play these games. I'm not playing games. >> You need to identify yourself. >> Mia L. Mia L. E. Make sure you add the E. >> Why is the VIN number taped over on the windshield? >> Because the car is not under United States jurisdiction. So, I don't have to show you the VIN number. >> Covering the VIN means that they are not going to be able to run the VIN in the car and find out if there's any type of registration with it. Most of the people who do that stuff really know. And it sounds like the way that she's able to respond so quickly, she's really versed in this kind of stuff. But don't go anywhere because it gets way worse. >> Ask me for identification. The nationality card takes the place of a driver. >> We need a a nationality card does not take the place of a driver's license. >> You need a driver's license to drive on the roadways. >> That's if I'm transporting good services and people. I'm just traveling by myself. >> It doesn't matter if you're by yourself or you're with 17 other people on a bus. >> I need a driver's license. >> You need a driver's license. If you don't provide identification, you're going to be taken to jail. >> You want me to speak to supervisor because I can explain myself to a supervisor. >> You need to provide identification or else you're going to go to jail. Do you understand that? >> I need to get back to Illinois and I didn't do anything. >> And we need to get back to our jobs, too. I get it. You can get back to Illinois. All you have to do is identify yourself. >> And then we'll be done here in 5 minutes. >> I just did it. >> But you want to play these stupid petty games saying you're traveling and you're a citizen of wherever. Okay. We just need identification from you. Bottom line. >> All right. We're going to have you step out the car. >> I'm sorry. >> Supervisor's right here. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Come on out. I can talk to you. >> I'm not coming outside. I can talk to you right here. >> I can't hear you. >> I said I'm not coming outside. >> You've been ordered out of the car. >> You've been ordered out of the car. >> Right now, we're going to have you step on out. This is your final opportunity. >> Who's the supervisor? >> I'm right here. >> What's your name? >> Sergeant Mike Dy. Okay. Sorry. >> Badge number 62. For right now, we're going to have you step out of the car. We got the legal right to ask you to step out of the car for a traffic stop. So, step on up. >> I didn't do anything. >> If if not, you're obstructing official business. >> I didn't do anything wrong. How about you get the sheriff down here? >> No. Sheriff isn't coming down here. >> They ask for the sheriff because it's the elected official. Almost textbook by the numbers. >> You don't step out the car. You're going to be on the arrest. >> Sir, what did you pull me over? >> Not going to keep explaining the same thing to you. >> Huh? >> Why are you all trying to intimidate? We're not trying to intimidate you. I've been I've been trying to fall, bro. >> She's pulling. SHE'S GOING. We're getting another traffic controller. Where you at? 12. the Grappler. >> I copy. >> Westbound Brookard. Grappler's the lead unit stopped with the Grapplers near the railroad track. >> ANNAYIA, STEP [screaming] OUT OF THE CAR. ANNAYIA, OPEN THE DOOR AND STEP OUT. WE'RE going to bring her far right. I need a hands and a less lethal. There only one person in. >> Yes, that's it. NIA, WALK BACKWARDS TO THE SOUND OF MY VOICE. >> At least one. >> Walk backwards. >> Keep coming back. >> Keep coming. I got commands. >> Step to your right. Step over that. >> That's it. She's the only one. >> Step to your right. Step to your right. Get down on your knees. Lay down on your stomach and put your hands behind your back. Lay down on your stomach. Put your hands behind your back. You are under arrest. You understand that? All right, roll over on your side. Sit up >> in custody. This is really good stuff. The grappler was created by an officer. It's really cool device if used properly. And if you're in a car that gets grappled, it's really jarring and shocking when your car can't go forward anymore. And that I'm sure changed her attitude. Two things that are very, very interesting if [music] you think about it. If you watch very closely, and I was taking some notes, she was using her turn signal quite a bit and she's running from the police. The other thing is she called 911 and she's telling her side of the story. This is important because when people do this using the turn signal and calling 911, they're in their delusion are saying, "I'm operating within the confines of what I'm supposed to be doing while on this roadway and I'm calling the authorities against the authorities." As [music] this case progresses, it actually gets even more interesting as they interview this lady. You good? >> No. >> Why do you say you're not good? You hurt? >> Mhm. >> What's going on? >> A lot of stuff. >> The handcuffs. >> A lot of stuff is going on. I'm just trying to get back home. >> I don't know why you fled >> because you all were about to attack me. >> Nobody was going to attack you. >> It was three of you all and one of me. Yes, you were. >> Nobody was going to attack you. >> Okay. >> I was talking to you real calm, >> trying to get you on your way. I was talking to you, too. >> I was talking to you, calm, too. >> I wasn't being rude. I told you what you asked for. I gave you everything you asked for. I just didn't give you my nationality card cuz my consulate says, "We're not supposed to do that. I'm following consulate orders." >> She is 100% committed. No question. And we're not done. It gets even deeper when she gets interviewed by the detectives. >> All right, step up. Come right over this way. I'll get those cuffs off you. Okay. Thanks, guys. Uh, you're Nia, correct? Okay. So, obviously you're in here. You're in custody. You can't just get up and walk away. So, I'm going read this to you real fast. You understand all that? >> Yes. Okay. So, you met our patrol guys tonight. I'm a sergeant in our detective bureau. We're just trying to figure out what happened. We got called cuz there was a pursuit and pursuits in Ohio were felonies. So that's why we're here. Okay. We were at a traffic stop. We were stopped in the parking lot >> and then we put the car in the drive and drove away. >> Can you tell me why we did that? >> Because I felt like my safety was in danger. >> Okay. What made you feel like your safety was in danger? >> Because they put on gloves like they were about to punch out my window. >> Okay. Um I wasn't on the traffic stop. So >> I know I I contacted and I asked for a share. They said they wouldn't there was nobody around. >> So at that point, >> who was there to talk to? If I can talk to the highways. >> Okay. They were at your car. Did they ask you to get out or anything? >> Yes, they did. >> Okay. Did you say you weren't getting out? Like I I wasn't there. I haven't watched body cam. I was at home having dinner. Now I'm here. So I'm I'm leaving it up to you to kind of fill in the blanks. I haven't even gone back and talked to them yet. >> Um and then you said you felt like you were in danger because they were putting gloves on. >> Okay. When you were driving away from them during that pursuit, >> were we stopping at red lights? >> Yes. Uh, did we go >> turn off signals? Yes, I did. I turned on my signal while I was turning two. >> Okay. Were we going faster than the speed limit, the posted speed limits? >> Not that I don't know. >> Okay. I know at one point somebody had said they were questioning as to what who what your identity was because you couldn't provide a driver's license. My I take it you um saying that you believe in talking to a sheriff and a higher up and that you're traveling, right? You don't have any government identification. Okay. Have you ever had any form of government identification? >> When I was under the black code? Yes. >> Okay. In what state would that have been with? >> That would have been as United States citizen at that one point in time under >> Okay. If you'd have gotten a hold of the sheriff over, what was the plan from there? >> I would have asked him are they competent in the United States notification access. >> And if they have said no, >> then I would have needed to speak to somebody else who was their supervisor. Where where were you going while you were before? Were you going to a specific destination or >> Yes, I was traveling back to my diamond style at Chicago. >> In Chicago. >> At Chicago. >> Okay. >> What brought you out here? >> I I literally went to Mission Barbecue. I picked up some I was hungry. I wasn't going fast when the uh God pulled me over. You know, I was literally traveling the speed. >> So, you came from Chicago? >> No, I was traveling back from Maryland, but I was in route. Okay. Okay. I see. That makes I thought came from Chicago here from Mission Barbecue. I know Mission Barbie is good, but >> it ain't that good. >> You see this interaction between the detective and this lady is very cordial. She is really locked in on this and she's very matter of fact. There are people who fall into the category of having a mental illness and acting this way who are just committed to doing this and someone sold it to them. I'm not a psychologist or a psychiatrist. I can't speak to her mental state. What I can say is that she really buys this stuff and believes it and there are a lot of other people who do and it makes it dangerous. >> Just want to make sure I got all this correct. Tell me if I'm wrong at any point. You're traveling back from Maryland headed back to the Chicago area. You stopped to get mission >> and he pulled you over >> for no reason other than the fact that he didn't like my tax. >> Okay. Let me ask you just for my own personal curiosity. Okay. Obviously you you're don't recognize our authority, right? That that's your belief and you're you can have that belief. Um, >> I do recognize you. >> Oh, I'm Maybe I misunderstood. Maybe I misunderstood. I'm sorry. I thought when you were asking for the sheriff, you you were saying you don't recognize the authority of the local police. >> Well, he asked me about tags and he kept being aggressive. So, at that point, I need to speak to somebody. >> Okay. >> Is confident notification access. >> Okay. Because my question was going to be what made you stop originally >> if you wanted to speak with the sheriff. What made you stop for the police department originally? >> Signal. So I was at least being respectful and pulled over. >> But then they kept being aggressive. They asked for identification. I told them I have a nationality card and under the United States um United States Justice Department in absence of a driver's license. A nationality card will suffice. So a nationality card supersedes a driver's license. And that's under the 1508. That 1508 is often misqued by sovereigns which 1508 is actually 18 USC508 which relates to secretly recording federal conversations. It has nothing to do with the stuff that sovereigns usually talk about which is traffic related incidents and there are people who continue to teach this stuff to other people and they believe it buy into it and then they end up sitting in jail. So, the way we're talking here right now, right? Um, do you feel like I've been aggressive or raise my voice at all towards you? >> The officers on scene, were they more aggressive than I am to you right now? >> Yes. >> Okay. And the way you're talking to me, do you you don't feel that I don't feel you're being aggressive, but do you feel that's an aggressive way for you to talk to me at all? >> I know. >> Okay. I don't feel that way either. Just was that how you were talking to them during the traffic stop, or were you more animated with them? Um, I might have thrown a little animation, but I was still frustrated. >> Yeah, cuz I'm frustrated. I just wanted to get back to my >> meeting. You're allowed to be frustrated. >> And on top of that, >> I was answering the question, so I was complying. >> So, I think that's all we have as far as questions for you. Do you have any questions for me? I will tell you there's probably some that I don't have the answers to right now. If I do have the answers, I'll happily answer them for you. >> So, when is the process? >> So, what's going to happen is you'll be here overnight. Okay. Um, in the state of Ohio, we have 48 hours to get you in front of a judge, right? So, we would technically have until Tuesday to get you in front of a judge. Mike, you have plans to get you in front of tomorrow. And your hearing tomorrow won't be down at county court. It'll be at Parm Municipal Court. I believe video is back up for you guys. >> She's going to go in person. >> No, she's got to go in person. All right. So, you're going to see the judge in person. >> I won't have a time for you till tomorrow morning when I go see the judge, see what their document looks like. Okay. >> Okay. But there'll be an officer that comes over and transports you from here to farmer >> and then you'll you'll hang out at farmer for a while till you see the judge. Once you get your bond, they'll transport you back here. >> Okay. This ended how I often have seen them end when I was on the job and even as I watch videos at postretirement jail, losing the car, felony misdemeanor charges, and often they don't show up to court because they don't agree with the legal processes that they've been placed into. So a lot of times these people end up with warrants. And it appears that at some point this woman was indicted and a warrant was issued for her rights because she didn't show up to court. At the time of this recording, I do not know the final adjudication of her case. I just feel so bad because when listening to this lady, she seems like she's lucid and she seems like she makes sense as far as being a calm individual, but she's got the game completely wrong. Please share this video with your friends and family and anyone who you think can help someone who might do something as silly as this. And in the meantime, like and subscribe.
