I want a girl to search me. I'm asking for a female. Thanks a lot for everything you did. That wasn't even mine. [screaming] >> Every officer will tell you they've done a car stop where the passenger is the one that escalates the situation into something pretty bad. But rarely does it turn into a situation where the officer has to place the person in handcuffs, the person spits in the officer's face, and they get taken to jail on a felony. This is one of those. >> Hey, how you guys doing? >> Passenger side approach. Good stuff. >> I have I have an appointment with an attorney right now at the court office. That's why I I even did any of that. Um I'm sorry about that. >> I got you. >> I don't mean it. No harm, no nothing. I I I honestly I have a card right now and I have an appointment at 11. It's already at 10:30. I'm not I'm not trying to pull you or anything. >> I got you. I still need your license, registration, insurance, and I'll try and get you out of here as soon as possible. >> Uh I think I left my license in my on my other pants cuz I I was using it at work, but I do have my license, registration, and I have a bottled a bottled in insurance, too. Okay. So, um my name is Edgar Gonzalez. Edgar with a J or a G. >> Uh, no. With E. >> No, no. I mean in the middle like uh >> U. >> Just spell Edgar for me cuz I'm slow. >> E D G A R. Yurio is uh I don't know how to spell it. I don't use it. But if you >> What do you mean you don't know how to spell it? It's your name. >> Yeah, I know, but I don't. >> U R I E L. >> Okay, a couple things I'd like to mention here. A person who you think is possibly playing the name game, you definitely have to be on high alert. I'm not a fan of leaning in the car like this in this cavalier manner and writing the information. in my opinion, behind the B-pillar looking hands up so we can go to whatever tool we have, drop what we need to drop. It just seems a little less tactical and I don't know that he trains like that on the range. The other thing is take note of the little dice hanging from the mirror and a lot of jurisdictions can get pulled over for that. Driver's view obstructed. I know in my jurisdiction that was one and that was one of those type of stops where obviously a lot of people wouldn't be happy about it, but you can almost always get pulled over that in certain jurisdictions. [music] Chime in if in your jurisdiction it's like that. >> I don't use them. I I don't I I don't use the middle name. Oh, >> okay. That's your middle. I think most people still know how to spell their middle name, but I'll just let that one slide. Brother, do any of you guys smoke marijuana products? Does somebody smoking your car or near your car? >> Oh, it's probably this trees. >> Well, those don't smell like marijuana, but >> N. But it don't smell like weed, but >> I got you. Do you have like a medical marijuana card? >> No. >> And no hemp? >> No. >> Okay. Here's this back, brother. Do you have the registration insurance in here? >> Like in your little box? >> Sure. I'll just let you guys look for that and I'll get it when I come back. Something's weird about this kid. I guess he's late for court and then uh when I was asking his name, he didn't know how to spell his middle name >> where these officers are talking to each other. My question is I see the one backup officer is looking at the vehicle in the direction of his body cam. The contact officer, the officer that initially made contact. My opinion, we can talk to each other as officers without looking at each other. We can glance over each other, but keeping our back should feel uncomfortable to a vehicle. It should become muscle memory that we don't want our back to a vehicle. But again, constructive criticism, please. He's in great shape. I like the fact that he's been very professional and engaged with the people, but I'm going to call the things that I find tactically to make sure officers learn and can go home at the end of the shift. >> If you want, you can pull him out of the car while I run them. All right, y'all. Deputy Brazer's office. Uh, I just talked to uh Deputy Wales over there. Uh, do me a favor. Bully gun. Step out of the vehicle for me. >> Why do we have to step out? I'm sorry. >> Because he said he's uh there's an order of marijuana coming in. >> I don't smell nothing. It's literally this, bro. >> All right. Well, we we'll talk to him in a second. Step out. Step out of the car. >> I don't have It's not whether you want to. I'm giving you a lawful order, man. We We can either, you know, go about it the easy way. Just have over here come step out. He'll he'll explain everything here. >> I feel like y'all can say that to anybody and y'all probably have been saying that to every single car y'all stop because y'all can just say that. The camera can't smell. So obviously y'all can just use that to get in anybody's car. >> Okay, you've heard Pennsylvania versus Mims, which you can ask the driver to step out. Maryland versus Wilson, you can ask the passenger to step out. Supreme Court has ruled on those. So the officer is well within his rights. But let me talk about tactics. Why would you call both people out at the same time? Because that means you have two people moving at the same time that you have to watch and one has to walk around the car. Is it maybe safer to call them out one at a time, make sure that they're in a safe location, have them go back to your patrol vehicle while you watch, and then call the other one out. In my opinion, in the practices that I've seen, as a much safer practice, maybe he has a reason he's doing this, but from what I'm seeing, it looks like it'll be much more challenging. We'll see what happens. >> And I'm sorry, but literally smell this. I ain't worried. >> I know, but it's just like >> Oh my god. >> Yeah, man. Come step out. You, too, man. >> They're not getting to your appointment. They don't care about your appointment. Just know that. They don't care. >> Well, you're not making any easier either. So, I don't know what I know how you feel. I know how y'all >> That's your opinion. Okay. Step out then. Step over here, man. >> You guys can step over here behind my behind this. >> I had I have I had an appointment with an attorney right now. >> Oh, yeah. You got like a court case going on >> on at the 15th. >> On the 15th? >> Yeah. >> Is it like a actual court that you have to be there in front of a judge today? >> I have to No, not today. I have to go to talk to my attorney day so I can talk to >> I got you. I got you. >> 15. >> So what what we can do if if since it's not an obviously like a court court day like that you have to be there specific time. You can still give you like a you don't need like a referral like hey I got pulled over by the cop x y and z type stuff. >> It's cuz um I'm not sure >> dumb ass. >> I'm not sure I'm not sure if they work cuz it we I called like it's two weeks like I literally called like long time ago and they gave me that date on almost near the 15 and I was like well I don't want to talk to him near the 15 cuz it's kind of like >> Yeah. Yeah. You want to kind of get ahead of it. I got you. >> Well, one of my one of my workers did tell me it smell like those those little tree the leaves around it smell like leaves. I won't find any >> I don't know if I can call and I can talk to them real quick. >> Uh to your attorney. Not to my attorney, but to the office lady because she's the one that like tells him everything and tell because I'm supposed to talk to her before I go to see him. >> I got you. Yeah. Here. Just give this guy a second. We'll figure out >> care. They don't care, >> bro. I can speak. >> They don't give a, bro. You going to have to make another appointment. >> How could I make another appointment? My court date. >> Well, you should have thought about that. >> There's a couple tickets you could have got. I'm only writing you for one. I chose the cheapest one for the overtaking in a no no passing zone. So, that's just your copying. You can either pay it online in person or on the phone or you can take it to court. It's up to you. You guys will be out of here in just a second. We're just going to be checking the vehicle and you'll be on your way. >> This gets really interesting when they decide to check the female. >> I don't even know why they change your appointment. You ask for 12. Then tell them you asked for 12 and why the did they change your appointment time? >> All right. >> Or just tell them that you're late. >> Uh hello. Hello. This is Deputy Brazil with the Sheriff's Office. Uh what's your name, man? Ed notice >> Edgar. Uh hello. I guess Edgar Gonzalez had a appointment with you guys here shortly and uh he got pulled over over here off to Bill. Uh he's going to be a little bit a little bit late. That's why uh he's calling and he's having me kind of talk to you. >> Okay. Uh is there anything else that he needs to know? Is he still going to be able to make his appointment here shortly? >> Okay. That should be a problem. >> Okay. No problem. There you go. Hey, man. >> These officers are being extraordinarily professional, helping out. Didn't have to make that call. Doesn't want the guy to get in trouble. The officer didn't max the guy on his ticket because he was respectful and polite. He gave him the least amount of ticket he possibly can give him. And this female still has this attitude and she increasingly gets worse. However, one tactical critique. Why do we conduct business in this location next to the head of their pickup truck? No patown done on the male that I saw. Could have been done in a different part of the body cam that doesn't show it. Why not have them in front of our patrol vehicle standing in front of the buddy bumpers where we know how to operate which is our safety zone and we know our best tactics that we can utilize. This is an unknown space. It's an X. We don't know what's in the back of the bed of that pickup truck. Something in the wheel well. It's just not the safest space in my opinion. So, for those of you who are wondering if this search is good, I mentioned in many videos, US versus Carol, the 1925 case, the bootleggers, the car was weighted down, they stopped the car, they tried to suppress the moonshine that was in the back of the vehicle, and the Supreme Court ruled on it, and they said, "Vehicles are mobile. It's an exception. You don't have to get a search warrant." So the officer smelling the burnt marijuana at the time of this video that was legal. Those laws are evolving across the country as far as just smelling weed inside of a vehicle. It's usually weed plus something. Every jurisdiction is different. If you are a person who wants to engage in that kind of activity, you should know the law because it is evolving. So it's important to know who you have inside of your vehicle. The search at this point here is legit. >> Has it been a year before you've gotten another ticket? >> Oh yeah. I got one um when I whenever I found out that I had a warrant. >> Uh how long ago was that? Like that was like uh on Mother's Day. >> Nobody smoked weed in here. >> Is it Is it Is it Or is it cuz of me cuz like they have it on my record like they found me like back then I used to smoke a lot. I used >> Oh no. Honestly like how that works then like we run tags no criminal history pops up so people assume that we have all this information in front of us. No. You got pulled over today because we're running some traffic because we got a lot of complaints of people speeding through there and just doing what you did right now. >> Yeah. >> It's just that, man. It's We get complaints. We got to come out here and we got to take care of what we can, you know. >> Yeah. You're you're kind of hauling a little bit. You're going 50 like 52, I think. >> 52. >> Yeah. And a 35. though. It's like, hey, there's a speed limit there because a lot of traffic there and people stop to go to the store. People stop to go to the whatever that is. It's like a daycare now, right? >> All right, we're almost done. Just be careful. Somebody's smoking weed in your car if it's not you and they're just leaving like bits of like shake in your car which is causing the smell. >> Right, my brother. >> So, I'm just going to check you real quick and then you'll be on your way. >> I got money and two. >> Just put your hands up here. Throw your feet a little bit >> and then I'm not going to take your alcohol, but technically you're not allowed to have it >> again. All this time and just now conducting the pat down. This is not the normal practice that I've seen or that I think is the best practice to interact with someone that's not been patted down at this point >> in your uh glove box. >> Okay. >> But I'm not, like I said, I'm not going to take that. How old are you? >> 21. >> How are you? >> Is it 421 now? >> It's all the cash for >> in cash. They don't take digital payment. >> It used to be a routine back in the day. >> Every They always used to used to give me card every time. No reason. >> You saw that big wad of cash. What's that the size of it? Could it potentially be? I mean, that's a pretty large lump that's inside of someone's pocket. Unchecked. >> Let me see your bag real quick. >> This is my stuff. >> Yeah. Get that. But there's weed in there. Give me your bag. >> There's weed in here. >> I'm sorry. In the car. >> This is my bag. You're not touching my bag. I'm sorry. >> I said 10:15 because she was doing the same thing. >> This is my bag, though. The bag. All right. >> Okay. Okay. Stop. I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you. Stop. Hands behind your back. >> Oh my god. I gave it to you guys. ass games the whole time. >> What the This is your fault. >> That's your fault cuz the way you're acting. >> What the? >> Leave me alone. I will sue the out of y'all. >> I said I would give it to you. Goodness. I can't ask a question the first time. >> I got to be in this game the whole time though. I gave you a question. >> What game though? mothering game. You fuckingshole. >> I gave you plenty of chances to give me that bag. >> Let go of me, you I didn't even do cuz you got your brother in there. I was smoking. Leave me alone, bro. >> Where you going? >> I don't want cars to see me. >> Right here at the front, bro. >> My hand hurts. Look, I have it. >> Let go of your phone. Let go. >> Let go of your phone. Please let go. Give me my >> Too late. >> Give me my >> Stop. You don't have anything that's going to poke me, sick me, hurt me. >> You bro, you ain't >> download. Leave me alone. I want a girl to search me. I will sue you. I want a girl to search me. I want a girl to search me. I will sue you. You did not finish. You just checked my pockets. I want a girl to search me. No. No. I will sue you. I'm asking for a female person to search me. I willing sue y'all. I'm asking for a female person. I'm asking for a female. I need a female. I want a female. I want a female. I want a female. I need a female. He's hurting me. >> I want a female. I need a female. >> I need a female. >> All right, we're going in the car now. >> What are we getting in the car? You're going to jail, >> baby. You see what you did? That wasn't even mine. >> Yeah, just you're all right. >> Thanks a lot for everything you did. Thanks a lot for everything. That wasn't even mine. Give me my sandal. >> This is what you wanted. This is what the you wanted. Give me my phone on the hood. Give me my phone. >> Just leave it there. We'll grab it. >> It's on the hood. Give me my phone. I want my phone right now. >> Baby, give me my phone. Put your feet in, please. >> Put your feet in. >> You're not getting your phone back here. >> The sooner you understand that, the better. >> There you go. >> Jesus Christ. >> It's all right, man. >> In custody. Here's the situation. Deputy Don't Play That Stepped in the Mindset of Deputy Don't Play That. She got Maldi. She wasn't listening. They She wasn't permitting the search. They were like, "No, you're getting booked." They made the decision quickly and they handled business. They put in a car. I don't know if you noticed, but they cut her purse. So, what a lot of people don't realize is if a woman has a purse over her shoulder, once you put the handcuffs on, you have to unhandcuff to take it off. Unless there's a way to, you know, unclasp it or something like that or to cut it, especially if they're acting violent like that, they're not going to unhandcuff her. So, hopefully that didn't have like some intrinsic value from her grandmother or something like that cuz her attitude got her purse cut and got her placed in handcuffs. I have a challenge. The male walked right up on them as they were attempting to take her into custody as she was resisting. Seen it [music] many times. discompliant male now becomes incredibly violent because he sees his significant other being wrestled in handcuffs because she's being resistant and then he becomes an issue. Have him sit down. You watch him, in my opinion, is a much safer practice as opposed to having him walk up. I've seen officers attacked by the significant other that was completely compliant until they saw the wrestling match. >> The thing is, she would have just gone simple and then she she played the I don't have to get out of this the car when I first got out with her. There's >> some marijuana in there. It's just a little tiny bit. This is all that's why she's acting the way she's acting. >> I was I didn't even know she had any >> I got you. But let me explain something, man. If it's just a blunt. >> I know, bro. >> She would We would have just tooken it and destroyed it. But she's playing these games, dude. >> I know, but like the thing is a lot of people get their stuff from social media for no reason. They start acting the way they act. And this would have been a hey, don't do it again. Go go go to your appointment. >> But she's playing games. I know she's got a little bit of attitude. That's okay. I don't mind that. But the thing is when you start doing these back and forth saying you don't have we can't do this and can't do that. We're pretty good at what we do, man. And it's like it's just listen and then >> she doesn't know she'll get pulled over like that. >> I know. And and and I'm not it's not your fault. It's it's mostly just the way she was acting like >> thing goes to go whenever >> you did all that over some weed. >> You did all that over some weed. Don't talk to me. [screaming] >> It looks like her hands are free. It looks like she's out of her handcuffs. Do you want her to have her phone so she can call you? >> I just want her to call her family me. >> I got that. But she she's not going to be able to call anybody. She's going out to the jail. >> You can't just let using go. You got to be asho. There's people dealing the out of the and you over here worried about a Jeep You ain't >> It looks like he doesn't notice she's out of her handcuffs. He's conducting a field test on the to see if it tests positive for the green stuff. >> He didn't even ask you if I had a marijuana card or nothing. You didn't nothing. You didn't even read my my and I'm over here in a cop car. You >> Yeah. And then I'm like, hold on. >> We got pulled over and I I was just passing I passed somebody right here. I guess it was a double the double lane. >> I the out of you over here touching me and when I'm aing female and I asked for aing woman to drive me. >> They told us that to get out of the car and Leslie said for what? cuz it smelled like weed and we weren't sure for what. But then and then Alzie had a bag, a black bag that she took off with her and they were going to serve to. She didn't want she didn't want to give them the black bag and they told her that that she was resisting. >> Yeah. You're going to go smoke that right with your ugly ass kids that I bet you got some ugly assing kids. >> Uh once they book her and do all the process, she's going to have a bond which is going to be uh 1,000 bucks which is what 50 but it's 10% of that. So what? 50 200 bucks cuz she's she's not sure she's not if she doesn't get pulled over as much like that, bro. She's not >> I got you. But there's a way to there's a way to act. You kept your composure. You went with everything we did. We have problem cause. >> She needs to tell me what just happened. >> Hello. Uh this is Deputy Bzawa. Hey boss man. How you doing? >> Everything good? >> Oh yeah. Just walking up here to the >> Oh, I got you. I thought you were going to ask us something. >> No, no, no. I just got my truck in the shop, so I'm just >> Oh, you're good, man. >> Leting go. I didn't even do to you, bro. I didn't even do nothing toing any of y'all. I didn't even know I'ming driving, you dumb. >> So, this gentleman here uh and her got pulled over because they were overpassing a vehicle in a no passing lane. We were running some traffic enforcement and we got out with them. While we were talking to them, we could smell the odor of like marijuana or some kind of uh substance in there. And uh we got him out the car. >> Let me go. Am I going to be able toing leave or what? What the is going on? You're not even telling me. >> You're going to jail. >> Okay, then get on with it. What the are we still doing here? What are we still doing here? >> She had her bag and we were just say, "Hey, we got to search your bag as well." And she refused to give us the bag and everything. And then u we placed her under arrest for resisting. That's resisting without violence. So basically it's like, "Hey, we're giving you a lawful order. You have to kind of comply." >> Joe, for what? For what? Grandma weed. >> For resisting. >> Huh? >> For resisting. >> For resisting what? [screaming] Why did Iing resist? >> Um, she's going to jail essentially for resisting without violence. And she had like >> I'm pretty sure she was just more than anything scared of what was happening. >> But the but the problem was is that you know there's a certain way of like composing yourself and kind of going through um I guess the steps of what we're doing. Uh I don't know if she understood that or not, but she's going to jail today for resisting without violence. You just trying to find any reason. You come on. You >> Now you're going to jail for a felony. Congratulations. >> Why did I do nothing? [screaming] Nothing. You mean >> she spit on him? >> No, she's getting arrested today. Unfortunately, it's just uh uh we got to this point by just the way she acted and what choice decision she made. So, she's going to jail today. I didn't even have to be here. I took her off to be here with this dumb and we didn't even >> She got out of her handcuffs and she spit on me. So, she's going to do a real good job. >> So, okay. I think this officer is very, very nice. But he just got spit upon. He has his back to the car with an unhandcuffed person. In my opinion, the safest manner to handle the situation for him and for her is to immediately get her back into custody and don't take our eyes off of her because we have this vehicle here. What else did she possibly do in that time she was back there? >> Unfortunately, she uh she she's going to get more charges. She just spit on the officer. >> So, is there any way that I can hope for her? >> Uh, no, not at this point. I think we've done enough being nice to ourselves. >> Um, okay. I can't talk. >> No, sorry, ma'am. Uh, like I said, uh, we'll talk to you later. Bye. >> I understand. Can I get the phone, too? >> Uh, if you want to take the phone, you're good to go. We're going to we're going to we're going to get out of here, man. You You got to get out of here, too. We We can't have you here. Mask. >> Um, I thought I had one. >> I got one in the back. >> I don't have small cups. >> Grab yours. Yeah. I'll just have to make them real tight, I guess. >> Okay. Are you Do you want to put it on or I don't feel like getting spit on the whole time? >> Yeah, I got you. Yeah, one of her hands are out of the cup and then uh >> I thought I put them pretty tight, but >> Yeah, she's got super small wrists. >> Yeah, sucks, too, cuz they're going to be both double locked. >> She was What was she just yelling and spit at you? >> Yeah, it was she made it was like pretty pronounced so and then it hit me in the side of my computer. Okay, >> I need you to put your hands behind your back. >> What do you want from me? Leave me alone. I'm not doing to you anymore. Just leave me alone. I'm not doing nothing to anybody anymore. You got me locked up in handcuffs. >> You got me locked up in this cage. I'm not doing nothing and I can't get out. So, leave me alone. >> Settle down. >> No, I'm already back in handcuffs. I'm already >> There's no There's no changing what's going to happen today. >> Okay, then get on with it. I have to go back in handcuffs. >> And I have to finish my paperwork. >> No. I'm in a cage. I'm in a cage. I'm in a cage. [laughter] >> You have to go back in. >> I'm in a cage. You alreadying know I'm in a cage. I can't do nothing. I can't reach nobody here. [laughter] >> You got to listen to what he's telling you. >> Listen, I don't want to talk to nobody. I'm literally in a cage. I'm in a cage. Cops literally do this all the time. They don't They don't care that I'm in CS or not. >> All right, just go ahead and put your hands back behind your back. [laughter] >> Oh my god, I'm already in a cage. Look at how red my hands are. [laughter] >> Other hand, please. >> You guys areing. I didn't even do Did I ask you a question? That means you got arrested because I resisted. I didn't evening say to you, bro. >> I want to lock them so they don't get tighter on you. >> No more spitting. Okay, >> shut the up. >> If that happens again, then we're going to put a mask on. >> I already know. I'm done anyways. I'm done for. So, leave me alone. You think I give a >> in custody hopefully. Here's the thing. I got to talk about handcuffs again. I got to talk about spitting. I've been spit upon on duty and it is not fun. It sucks. It smells. You're concerned about a communicable disease. And if a person is a spitter and you have a spit mask, I see no reason why not to. You want to risk that again after you've been spit upon. It's a felony. So I heard the officer say they did not have the small cuffs. Carry small cuffs. Get hinge cuffs. These are the big hinge cuffs and then these are the smaller ones. They exist. Carry them inside your vehicle. The other thing, this is what this handcuff becomes when they have one on. That that [music] that thing is what it becomes. this dangerous weapon, which means that you may have to escalate the force. I've seen this department before in action and they've done some really wonderful things and this is just constructive criticism cuz I want to see officers do well. I want to see them go home at the end of shift. This is not me trying to talk down on them. I've made mistakes in my career, but this stuff has to be addressed. >> You want to go to the civil station in case you don't you do have to put that. >> Where's that at? >> It's literally right here. >> Let's go to Pearson Town Hall cuz this guy we I don't want him following us. >> All right. >> Yeah. >> Just lead the way. I'll call you. >> Yeah. Hey man, is she keeping your Is she keeping the phone or she or she taking it with her? I'd say let her keep it just so she can give you a call or her family and that way they can contact you. >> Oh god. Okay. Yeah, that's fine. Then just give it to her and I'm going to go over there to go and find a ghost or you want me to meet you somewhere? >> Uh we can um uh you want to meet in D I I was going to go to my attorneys, but I guess I'm just going to call them back right now. >> Bravo 22 central transport real quick. I just need to ask him where do I go? >> Uh you uh so you got to go out to the branch jail once he's done >> from the L to Pearson substation starting off. >> I have to get I'm in trouble because I asked you a question. I asked you a question, bro. >> Okay. And that's where I can pay her bill or >> say again. >> Is that where I can pay her bill or do I have to go somewhere else? You'd have to go to the uh you can go to any bail bonds and pay her bond. >> That's resisting. That's resisting. I hate you. >> It's going to take a little while. Yes. But now she's got a she just caught a felony. So she was spitting on the officer right now. So she's got two char. Yeah. She spit on the officer that arrested her.
