On April 27th, police received reports of a driver crashing into a road sign near a motel before running from the scene. When officers confront him, they smell alcohol and hear him deny owning the vehicle until they realize he's one of their own, Hiram Hernandez, a corporal with the Lordsburg Police Department. >> Now, you okay, brother? He's advised to let the sheriff's office handle the case due to the conflict of interest while Iram continues denying he was driving his own car. >> Hey boss, sorry to wake you up, man. So, Jack went over there to the um Flying J and and found Iram walking right there, I guess. He's in investigative detention right now in the back of my unit. Yeah, it doesn't look good, brother.
