I get injured from somebody else. >> Did you fall downstairs someplace at somebody's house? >> Uhuh. >> No. >> Uhuh. >> So, when you were in >> like if I'm walking up my stairs or something like I'll trip up like one or two. >> But the injury on your chin. >> Oh, that's what you're talking about. >> What happened there? >> Um, I think that uh from the accident cuz my jaw hurts real bad right now. >> You think this your injury in your chin was from the accident? >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. So when you left or prior to the crash, you didn't have that? >> No. >> Okay. What about your arm here? >> No, my arm hurt like real too when I woke up. >> Okay. And that you didn't have that prior to the crash. >> Uh-uh. >> Positive. >> Yep. >> Cuz why would someone be saying that you fell at someone's house and you were injured there? >> Wait, what? >> If someone said that you were injured at somebody else's house cuz you fell downstairs, that's not accurate. That's not what happened. before >> before the crash. Yes. >> Do you want me to come back? >> If you could. Okay. >> Thanks. >> Okay. So, this right here in your chin and that scuff on your shoulder is from the crash. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Were you wearing your seat belt? >> Yep. >> Okay. >> I should have I should have been. I think so. Yeah. >> Okay. Is there anything else that's injured on you? Just like my the middle part of my back, but that's about it. >> Your back hurts? >> Yeah. Just a little bit. Not like, you know, like if I go to sit up, then it's like, you know. >> Sure. >> Okay. But you're positive this is from the crash, not something else. >> Yep. >> And you don't know who a brook is? >> Not a brook. Uh-uh. I know Ashley, but I don't know. Where were you guys going to after you left Dollar General or the Dollar Tree or whatever store it was that you were at in Baron? >> I think we were heading back to my house >> after that. >> Do you know where you crashed at? >> No. >> You know what road you were on? >> No. >> Where do you live? >> Clair. >> In Oaklair. >> Yeah, it's not far from here. >> Okay. Do you know where you are? >> Oair. >> I just told you you're in Lady Smith. >> Huh? >> I just told you a little while ago you're in Lady Smith. You're an hour and a half away from >> Damn. >> What did you guys all consume today besides alcohol? >> Is alcohol. >> Okay. >> What sort of drink was it? >> Okay. What kind of drugs do you guys use? >> I just you know um alcohol and THC and sometimes I'll use a little bit of uh um what's it called? Cocaine. >> Okay. What about >> That's about it. >> What about your buddy, Mr. Buyer? Um, >> I'm not sure. >> Okay. Did you use any cocaine today? >> Um, I don't think so. No. >> So, just weed and smoke some weed today? >> Yep. >> Okay. Did he smoke any weed? >> Um, I'm not sure. >> Okay. >> I smoked some before he came and picked me up. That's B. So he picked you up in Oaklair and you guys came to Christ lake. >> Yep. >> Okay. What did you guys do in Baron? >> Um hung out with this guy and we were supposed to eat some food, but I don't even remember us eating the food. So >> Okay. >> Interesting. >> How long were you at that other person's house? It shouldn't have been too long. It should have been only like >> And was that person where do they live? Do you know? Are they down in Oaklair or where was their place at? >> It was there in that town. I don't know the name. Nothing. I just hang out with Brier and this other >> So it's Byer's friend or your friend? >> It's his friend. >> What' you guys do there? just hung out and we were supposed to eat some food, but I don't, like I said, I don't remember eating any food. >> H how long you were there for? >> Probably like 40 minutes or something like that. I don't know. >> Nothing bad happened there, though. >> No. And >> prior to the crash, you were perfectly perfectly healthy. No issues. >> I should I should have been >> Well, I'm not I'm asking you cuz the only one that can know that is you, right? Yeah. >> Yeah, I should have been just fine. >> Okay. Are you on probation or anything like that? >> No. >> Any open criminal cases pending? >> Uh, no. >> Nothing. You >> ever been arrested before? >> Yeah. >> For what? I've got all my [ __ ] dropped um for um uh selling of uh marijuana intent to deliver >> just weed. Is that your primarily your drug of choice is weed? >> Yeah. >> Occasional cocaine. >> When I was like um 20, 19, 20. >> Okay. So, a while ago. >> All right. So, when you woke up and you're upside down in this vehicle, what uh what was being said or what did you guys do? >> Uh I just heard him yelling and then a window being kicked. And >> who kicked the window out? >> Uh Brier did. >> Which window was it? >> Um >> the side that he was sitting on or your side? >> Was it his side? >> What side were you sitting on? >> I was sat on passenger side. >> On the right side? Yeah. And then all of a sudden I remember um our hands were behind her back and then he was screaming and I was >> Did you hit your head on anything today? >> Um >> your chin obviously. >> Yeah. >> Looks like you split pretty good there. >> My mouth hurts a little bit but >> that's all it. >> Okay. >> I think so. You're wearing your seat belt though. >> Yep. >> Say you guys are pretty lucky. Looking at the car, if it got flipped over, there was a tree branch that went through the windshield. So, had you guys not been, this would have been a very different story for both of you, likely. >> When he kicked it out, who got out of the vehicle first? >> Um, >> I think he did. >> And then you followed >> and then I went out. Yeah. What were you guys trying to do there? >> Just get out of the vehicle. >> Okay. >> So, I remember him screaming, "I'm claustrophobic." That's what I remember. And then all of a sudden got my heart rate going and I was like, "What the? We're upside down." >> Okay. And were you just going to run in the woods or what you guys running from? >> Not running from nothing. We just waiting. Okay. prior to it too. I know I'm kind of asking questions out of order, but uh was there a vehicle that you guys ever passed on the highway prior to the crash? >> Um >> a vehicle we ever passed? >> Yeah. Did you pass any vehicles before you guys crashed? >> Um I don't remember. Um maybe we ever passed down. >> Maybe. >> Okay. Any questions for me at all? >> Uh no, not at this moment. Um >> if we fill out a medical release form, is that something that you would consent to sign? Meaning we would get like your medical records from today's your your medical visit here today. Nothing before just related to just your visit here today of what injuries you have. >> That's something you would do. >> Yeah. >> Okay. We'll get that up completed and have you sign that. Okay. >> All right. >> All righty. I'll be back in a little bit. >> All right. Thank you. >> Thank you. I've never been this disoriented in my life. I just woke up and people are saying that I crashed a car or I was in a car crash. >> Yep. It rolled at least once. We found it on his roof like well off into the ditch. There's actually a branch that went through the driver window that was like like if you seen Final Destination the movies like weird freaky deaths is very close to taking a part of you that can't be replicated. >> All I do is wake up an ambulance. >> What the hell is Final Destination? Uh it's like a movie about like some kid that has like a premon a premonition and then like sees like him and all of his friends dying before. So then he gets them out of that situation and then it still happens and then like the mysterious like death, you know, like the grim reaper is mad. So then he starts killing them off one by one in like these crazy ways like logs falling off the back of a like semi. And then I think like one gal gets stuck in like a tanning bed and then Yeah, it's it's watching. >> Yeah, it's probably not good for kids. [Music] >> Do you keep the original? >> You can send the original. I'll keep a copy. So this will all get into go into the case file and then >> okay >> um you'll be able to >> copy of everything that we do >> and then I will grab hater. >> How's it going? >> All righty. This is that form I talked to you about that release of medical records. >> Yeah. >> So I was going to kind of go over this with yesterday. There's no >> Can you see it at all? Uh yeah, >> this is your name up here again. Your name, date of birth. If you consent to release that information to the sheriff's office, sign date and time it for me and then print your name underneath it. Today is 96 and it's about 8:46 p.m. on top there. Sign your name there. >> Are you employed at all? Uh not at the moment. I I got um [ __ ] Um I have um unemployment. That's what I have. >> Okay. >> Where did you used to work >> at the moment? I worked at um Yeah, it's just only a couple streets from my house on the industrial side on over by Hershey's chocolate. I don't know if you know where that is. Hershey's or Nestle? >> Yeah, Nestle's. My bad. >> Yeah, that's why it said by the name Nestle. >> Okay. All righty. I appreciate it, bud. We're going to take some pictures of your chin and your elbow or your shoulder here. Okay. >> Okay. >> It was later revealed that buyer had a blood alcohol concentration of.183. He was found guilty for operating while intoxicated. Third offense. criminal damage to property and multiple driving offenses. Byer was sentenced to 130 days in jail and one year of probation. He was also required to pay $4,870 in fines and $300 in restitution. Christopher was released from the hospital without any charges. >> I'm scared changed. >> I have stop yelling. >> I have literally the worst anxiety my entire life, dude. Like I literally prescribed medication for my for not for my sake but for my anxiety and I'm literally freaking out sir and I'm sorry. Why are you freaking out? Because I don't know what happened and I'm literally >> okay we've told you now. I've told you personally what happened >> at least eight times. >> But like someone else like they say that I did this and this person got hurt and now this person is coming here and this person like I don't know what that is and I'm so sorry. I don't know what to do. I'm scared. I'm sorry. >> Okay. But but damaging the hospital >> because I want to see you. I hurt you and I don't I want to feel and I don't know what else to do. But I don't feel okay. Like I don't feel okay. I just want to work cuz I have nothing else to think cuz I don't Would you like us to update your tetanus shot >> before you go? Okay. You're going to cooperate with me? >> Yes. >> Okay. And then we'll let you go. All right, I'm going to go click the buttons quick. You just want to hang out.
