on March 23rd 2024 an officer from the monomane police department was driving when he saw a group of people drinking and littering beer cans while they were walking on a public sidewalk gentlemen how it if someone just told us to I mean you know a little knock say quiet down would have been a little warning would have been nice but instead there was pretty much just straight a cop in my door and why'd you open your door I didn't know that was a rule I figured I saw someone with a a badge and I thought I had to open the door apparently don't have to do that yeah wasn't too happy about that one does the University do any type of penalties or anything when you get under ages or uh I mean technically I'm Wonder like housing probation if you will cuz cuz of it was on campus yeah but I mean I don't really know what that entails the guy never fully described it to me so um according to him as long as long as I'm quoting him though as long as I'm not serving or dealing hard drugs I won't be kicked off campus what he don't so do you mind if I asked what this ticket will mean yeah it's it's a forfeiture it's not a crime the ordinance ticket um sometimes there's a penalty attached to your driver's license or they'll suspend it but if you do the diversion program then that won't happen so and that usually entails it's it's an 8 hour class typically where you just got to go in and talk to talk in a group explain your situation sure okay yeah go but as far as employment and stuff goes shouldn't have any negative effect on that no it's just it's just an ordinance violation there's no criminal it won't go your record type stuff it does but it goes away it'll show up as a forfeiture and then I think after is it okay if I ask if my parents will be notified we don't cuz you're over over the age of 18 so we don't I mean I'll text them anyway didn't want the law enfor no we we don't go out of a way to do that if you were under 18 we'd reach out to your parents but because you're an adult you're an adult you can have that conversation with them if you want sure I got you same if they were to call in and ask for details we're not going to give them any information cuz good thing I worked over spring break huh yeah I didn't there goes that cash I did but I was going to spend on stuff that would get me another ticket so just going to hang out in my dorm room what are you guys going to school for construction management mechanical engineering packaging interior design okay how long you guys got left freshman so we got three years freshman two in one year huh not a good housing once you want to get off campus I'm not too pissed about meal plant it's only $3 for the cins the money the money Spenders is the MC of course it's like 14 times better food but so when you were talking about the other the other plan you guys said you guys use so that is like separate from like paying a fine or it's the same thing or the what the diversion thing we're talking about with like with the the controlled buy thing yeah um yeah that's different that's just something we we don't advertise that it's just something if you're Cooperative we we like to throw it out there cuz we're not looking to jam up people there being Cooperative we get it kids are young they go out they drink they do stuff and we just want people to be responsible um that's nice but it helps us with with the compliance check stuff cuz sure understand it was probably before your guys' time here but rehab or Diablo blue is town that used to be Rehab bar they had 70 underagers in there the one night drinking at the bar that was the last night they were open that is well I tell you dude there was like 10 people that got a ticket in my dorm that night yeah do you guys do you guys actually drive down for October Fest that lacrosse yeah no okay cuz there's like a lot there's a lot of cops in October Fest no I used to work down Lacrosse County though so I'm very familiar with that well no that first night I think it was like a Thursday I was just walking around and there was like there's I saw like a group we bring people in from from everywhere yeah Lacrosse County a busy area during that time 4 days down there is pretty pretty wild sure sure but you know it's the same thing down there like if you're not acting stupid yeah that's don't draw the cops to which you'd be surprised how many people can't manage to do that yeah know I I I would bet I would bet I was going to say no way we're getting three cops thanks than there's that there's that there's that yours is more expensive cuz that's your second one indeed it unfortunately is those have mandatory court dates yes sir okay um but like I said the deal still stands that I'm going to talk to our officer that does the compliance and he needs to do that I'll make him do that in the near future um and I'll have him reach out to you guys and that depends on group cooperation for your guys' stuff for the other stuff for the littering and the open container stuff and that goes I asked in you want us to go get them yes please um let me finish my Spiel here um and then you guys are only here because of them and I wasn't going to make you stay um that's why I'm not going to write you a ticket so okay uh but if that that means obviously we know you've been drinking um and we we know that uh if you work with officer
