On April 23rd, 2023, officers confronted
a woman involved in an alleged hit and
run.
>> Hello.
>> Hey.
>> So, explain to me what happened.
>> Who did I talk to on the phone?
>> You talked to him on the phone, but I'm
the one who's working the wreck. I'm the
one that was out here with the other
party.
>> Okay.
>> So, I met Kroger and I wanted to go
straight across and there was a whole
big gap about four or five cars worth.
>> Yeah. and she came up and still had a
gap between her and the other car, but
it wasn't enough for me to go across.
>> Okay.
>> And so when I wave, she looked over at
me from
there cars this way and I'm over here.
>> Okay.
>> Trying to go across and there's room.
There's still like four or five cars
back where she could have had plenty of
time to back up.
>> The light was just red.
>> So there's all this.
>> So you were expecting her to back up. I
expect her to stop first of all when you
already see a car there trying to go
across
>> which most humans commonly would do.
Yeah.
>> Common sense and kindness would do
>> but it's not our requirement. Yeah. But
yeah.
>> Well, I don't know. It's my requirement.
That's what I do.
>> Gotcha. So, what happened?
>> So, so she looked at me and moved up and
shot me a bird and I said I'm trying to
go across.
>> Yeah.
>> And then she took time. I said then I
beeped and said, "Can you move back?"
Because the car behind her that had just
came up just come up at that time still
left plenty of room. Obviously seeing
that he would have let he she whoever's
that car would have let somebody go
across.
>> Okay.
>> To the other lane.
>> Yeah.
>> Cuz I was going to turn left or I could
have gone right wherever.
>> Okay.
>> Anyway, she shot me a bird and then just
deliberately got out a cigarette lit it
looked at me and just would not move at
all. Okay.
>> So then when the light turned, I got
over there and I'm like, "Well, I then I
can go in this lane and so I was going
to go in this lane and come in here for
some gas if I need whatever. I'm running
errands today." Okay. I've been sick for
a week and I Okay.
>> Anyway, so then I felt a bubble. I
didn't know if it was, you know, an
animal or walks or whatever. And I'm
like, and then I didn't think about it.
So I just got left like I'm just going
to get away from her. She's rude. Okay.
>> So I didn't want to go even near her. I
don't know where she went.
>> Apparently she came here. I don't know
that. So then I went left and I got out
and I'm like, well, I checked my car
because I'm thinking, well, I felt the
bump, but I didn't hit her.
>> So I'm looking at my there's no damage
on my car, so that's it.
>> Okay.
>> Anything here, I go to a Toyota dealer
at the uh I go to a Toyota dealer at the
um
Buford Highway.
>> Okay.
>> And these scratches have been there. I
go to them all the time. This was my
dad's car and it's been like that since
my brother
>> Yeah. drove it and he had backed into
something there.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah. I mean, see some thing right here.
It kind of looks like it might have been
kind of wiped off some.
>> No. So, I haven't touched a thing.
There's scratches here. There's
scratches all over the car. It's a 2011.
>> Yeah. Okay.
>> So, she deliberately pulled out a
cigarette, lit a cigarette, shot me a
bird. And I mean, that's just like why
would you not let somebody across you? I
just don't understand people like that.
>> Is there any damage on her car? I
haven't asked anything.
>> What's that?
>> Is there any damage on her car?
>> There is.
>> Where'd she go? What? Okay, so
>> I've already got her statement in our
garden. Already got photos and
everything with that.
>> Are you
Oh, just just sitting around over here.
So, yeah, she came back. Yeah, I'm I'm
on the fence about uh 82 in her. I was
thinking about doing it. I just wanted
to run it by you first. Um
she uh was coming out of uh Kroger as
this other lady was going north on Bethl
View. So supposedly the one that was
going north on Bethl View stopped in
front of the the entrance to that Kroger
there. So that that's just where she
stopped. You know, traffic backed up. So
this lady couldn't get out and she, you
know, they're both alleging that the
other one gave them the bird. U she's
the one that did the hitting, you know,
saying that she gave the other lady the
bird. Uh that that the other lady gave
her the bird and she's saying that this
this one gave her the bird. And anyway,
whenever they went green and the one
that was going north started moving, the
one uh coming out of U Kroger pulled out
and and bumped her on the just the uh
the rear uh
passenger side as she was going by.
And uh and then this lady came on out
and then then took off, went on toward u
toward downtown coming. Well, Mallerie
talked to her and kind of she she kind
of let something slip that she
she had,
you know, been involved in something in
a wreck. Uh but uh she's saying that she
felt a bump.
She thought that it might have been a
animal or something.
Yeah. All right. That's where I was at.
I just wanted to run it by you.

>> It said over a 100 gang members.
>> Do you know anything about that? Sorry,
I'm off off subject, but the last couple
of days I've seen news report, but you
have to have subscription to certain
news reports. Like one's news and I was
subscribed to something else. No,
>> but it said in the last couple days over
100 people related and gangs arrested
>> in for side county.
>> So I wanted to know if you all know
about that because I have kids.
>> I don't
>> and I can't get the report.
>> Yeah.
>> But uh back to this uh based on what all
the totality of everything the way
you're kind of elusive you you kind of
let slip that that you knew that you
were involved in something over here.
>> I said I don't know it was the animal
but to me it was rac incident in a in a
bump. So I mean based on that it's you I
need you to turn around me placing me
under.
>> Excuse me sir for what?
>> For hitting wrong.
>> I don't understand.
>> Well that's sir. So
>> no sir. No sir. Hit I need to hit you.
>> Oh my god. You're kidding me. And now
what? You've got to be kidding me.
>> She wouldn't
know.
>> What do you mean hit and run? I came
back to you and she said,
>> "No, you you left the scene and if we
hadn't gotten a tag number to get a hold
of you, you'd be gone." That's That's
what it is. That's what it comes back
to.
>> No. What are you telling me?
>> I need my purse. I need my
>> You have anything on you? Any weapons?
Drugs? I would never have
>> I just have to to check
>> No, I have no pockets, nothing.
>> Okay, that's that's that's
>> Are you telling me I have to leave my my
keys? Where Where are my keys? You're
telling me my cars?
>> They're dangling on you right here. So,
that's that's what Are you going to let
me That's all you got, right,
>> sir? Are you going to let me call
somebody? This is crazy.
>> From the jail. Yes.
>> So, this is this is all you have.
>> I don't have anything.
>> Okay. I'm just making sure.
>> Are you not going to let me lock my car?
My purse.
>> I'll take care of the car.
>> No, I don't want you in my car. I want
my
>> I need you to come this way.
>> I want my purse.
>> Okay.
>> I am I Wait, am I nodding?
>> Do you have a family member that could
come get the car?
>> Yes, but No, not without the key.
>> I mean, I have the key. Do you have
someone that could come and
>> Can we stop by my house? Great.
>> Can we stop by my house? Can you lock
the car? My
>> I'll take care of this. Do you have I'm
asking you have someone that can come
get it in a reasonable amount of time
and pick it up.
>> Yes, if you give me the key.
>> Yeah. I'm not going to give you the key,
but I'll give the other person.
>> Can we stop by my house? It's on
someone.
>> It's on the way.
>> You were just there, sir.
>> And give them the key. That'd be a lot
quicker.
>> I can do that.
>> And tell them to come get me because the
key to take I can take the time. Now
you're going to keep me.
>> There was no one at your house though
when I stopped there. There wasn't
anybody there earlier.
>> My brother's doing stain work on the
deck.
>> Okay.
>> Oh my god. We're fixing the house.
>> All right.
>> Okay. She's
>> I'm just going to reach across. You can
plug this out. Okay. If you'll just lean
back.
