What happened? >> I don't know at the moment. >> Okay. Based on >> that. >> No, I have not. >> Oh, good. >> That's why I'm asking. Did you hit your head to where you can't remember? >> I don't know. I really don't know. Is it your UTV? >> What's that? >> Is it yours? >> I honestly don't know. >> Okay. >> I don't know. >> Seriously, I don't know. >> Do you have a driver's license on you? >> Do I have a driver's license? >> Yes, sir. >> No, I don't. >> I don't. >> Take your name verbally. Is it David? >> David. >> David. Okay. Okay. But honestly, >> old school. I don't give a [ __ ] >> Respect that. Respect it. Okay. But again, are you okay? Is your head hurting? Do you feel dizzy? Nauseous. That's number one priority right now. >> Fine. >> Okay. Just until EMS can look at you low. Do you want to just take a step for me? No, I'm good. Good. Okay. I got them coming out right now anyways, but we're going to have to bandage up his head. >> Oh, have a good night. >> Thank you. Did we bandage you up, too? >> I'm fine. >> Yeah. Horrible energies there. All right, let's just hop in real quick. I'm not going to hop into anything. You got to do that there. >> Well, just you wait here for me. Not going anywhere, please. >> Yeah. >> Green shirt. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Thank you, sir. Because when I pulled it up, the the other guy was still on the ground. the the back the rear driver tire the back tire was on his leg. I had to get up off his leg, you know, and he was kind of stuck. So I helped him up and dizzling him down inside the car and when I told him when I scared police I kept screaming police and it was like this my friends called the police called y'all guys and he was like the police coming. was like just just running the bar and the guy in agree just kept trying to get the other guy to go places that he didn't want to go and I just kind of tried to protect him. But when I started hearing new guys pull up and he they already had he already had grabbed him by his shirt and drug, you know. So did you get this info yet? >> No, I haven't yet. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay. But yeah, for sure. You said green shirt though was was driver or at least like Okay. Um and just so double check how for know for sure just cuz like did he get out of like that section or like >> okay just like for for our records though just something I can say like you how you positively know he's he's the driver kind of thing. Do you know for certain how you know he's a driver? He was on that side and the guy was on the other side. He fell out and he kept trying to get back in was like, "I got it. I got it. I drive. I got it. I got it." >> Okay. He's driving. >> Okay. >> Cuz the other guy so up he can't drive. >> Sure. Yeah. And that's the guy I really wanted to save cuz he he was pushing him around trying to make him get back in the car and he got a big ass gash in his head. >> Mhm. >> That's what me and the other guy was saying like he got a gas in his head. He ain't going nowhere. Yeah. He dripping blood from his head. >> Sure. >> Yeah. We'll let you tend to there. I just pulled the So, the part that I'm stuck with is him not admitting to anything. Uh, trying to get the witness to say for sure he was driving. Um cuz right now I just go OWI with causing bodily injury. Um but it's I'm nervous with that since he's saying he's not driving. Other guy's not driving. That's the problem. >> I think you're probably good with it. >> Okay. London's on his way out here, but probably sure. >> Yeah, pretty much at this point about it. See, >> there is a camera at the back door that might have caught this. I did forget about that. Yeah. Um, >> just point it out. >> I can't remember if that >> points this way cuz we got cameras the other day from them. I can't remember. I think that one right there might be. >> Yeah. Okay. >> No, it's it's all good. Thank >> Yeah. Pretty much just going to take this route to see if if he'll admit going forward and then just like, "All right, well, you're wrestling." >> Where's the other guy? >> He's in the ambulance. Like I'm just going to go tell him that your buddy admitted to driving. So where you guys see what he's supposed to >> Sure. Yeah. Okay. >> All good. All good in your guys's end then. >> Yeah. They're both refusing. He's >> still trying to convin. >> He doesn't want to. So the next step from tomorrow will be to call our medical director and pretty much just get his level out. But um have you gotten a name from him yet? >> Um I think Ben has. >> Okay. Is if I can try to get that from you guys. >> I I don't think we can get >> Oh. Okay. I'll just make sure we keep No, it's okay. If we make sure we keep around, I'll try to get his name out real quick. Um but otherwise like I guess before I call the doctor like are you guys going to do a hold on them or um so it's not like for driver we're route >> okay cuz police witness is saying he's driving so yeah him um with him pretty much I guess we'll see if we get a responsible party for him if he doesn't want to go by ambulance he needs obviously need someone to pick him up so >> all right Dave Yep. >> So, where were we all coming from again today? What's that? >> Where were you all coming from today? >> Roundabout way. >> What was that? >> Roundabout way. >> Roundabout way. Okay. >> All right. How much did you have to drink tonight? >> First and last. >> We have a witness saying they saw you driving. >> So, can you be honest with me? Were you driving? >> I don't know. Okay. >> Were you? >> All right. So, Dave I have reason to believe you were operating the UTV while intoxicated. Would you be willing to submit or perform stand testing? >> Oh, I don't know if I was driving or not. >> All right. So, I don't know. >> All right. Well, say if you're refusing, then you're >> whatever. >> Yep. >> No problem. Thank you. >> Keep your hands together. >> You want behind me or >> Nope. Keep your hands together. Just like this. I'll keep them like this. You'll be good with me. You keep >> I'm good. I'm good. Not too tight. >> I'm good. I'm good. >> It's good. >> All right. Let me double lock so they don't lock up on me more. So this thing I want to run away or what? >> No. >> Some people like to. >> Yep. 535 level one male 95. All right, we're going to go to my squad car. Right back by the fire engine there. We're going to get must be getting back here. Say I was getting fuzzy. >> Oh no. Don't get that privilege. >> I must be honored if I get fuzzy. No. Here you go. But before I buckle you in, do you want to get looked at by the ambulance? >> Do we have any contact info for? >> I like I said, I just want to make sure you're okay. You're fine. Okay, listen. Buckle in then here. Okay. second do we do our bare hands all [Music] Jesus Christ got >> I really want this guy to go to the hospital. >> Yeah. >> Um if he doesn't I think we are at the point that uh I think we're at the point that we have to like make him like the 45. >> That's what I was telling Morgan is like I don't feel comfortable releasing him to a responsible party in the situation. >> Yep. Um, yeah. I uh >> I'll go try to talk him into that. >> Okay. Yeah. Um, I'll get started on OWI stuff and they got that plate and everything. >> Yep. I sent that. They put it in the notes for you. They don't have any info for the owner. I'm wondering if that's who he is. >> Yeah. >> He's not really Dave. >> Sure. >> So, that's another issue for yet to cross. Another bridge. I'm sorry, Dave. I gota have you step out here one more real quick for me. >> Yeah, I got to search you. >> Just make sure. No weapons or anything like that on you. So >> Jesus possibly might be a jack knife in my left pocket. >> Possibly. >> The cigarettes in there. >> Okay. Nope. >> I appreciate you letting me know about goddamn old farm boy. >> There might be a jack knife. >> Okay. Yep. There we go. >> Yeah. Blue one. Yep. >> I don't want to lose Have you lose your change? >> It's your lucky day. >> Oh, no. I'm not keeping that. That's all yours, sir. >> No other knives or anything on you? No. All right. >> Okay. All right. You're all good. We can have you sit back in. Okay. >> You good? >> Yep. You're good to sit back in. I uh I hold on to all that stuff, though. I'll give it back to you. >> I don't give a [ __ ] >> All right. [Applause] Y are you comfortable having the strap underneath you? >> Okay. See, I'm just going to give you a heads up. We'll probably have to throw away the uh lighter and the cigarettes for >> you. What? So, if we end up going end up going to the jail, I they don't accept um cigarettes and lighters in there. >> They'll just throw them away. So, >> you throw my It's 10 bucks a pack. >> Okay. And just give just giving you a heads up. >> So, they're going to owe me this [ __ ] Should have ran like a deer. Must be a bunch of goddamn city slickers out here. Got a scratch in your knee, a scratch in your arm. Oh my god. >> 535 Savior towing is on route ETA 25 minutes. >> Got to get her checked out. >> You didn't have to find my cell phone in there, did you? >> No, it did not. >> If it What kind of phone is it? Um, no. I'm kind of old school, so don't blame me for whatever, but it's not an Apple, but it's a >> Oh, not Microsoft. Samsung. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> But just asking. >> Oh, no. Sure. Absolutely. So, we're going to have Where are we headed from here? >> Uh, so we're going to be going to the hospital. Gonna get meds for you. Um, but I got to do some things on here real quick. >> Just just be a little >> Why would we be going to the hospital? >> May I ask why are we going to the hospital? >> Cuz of your injuries. Want to make sure you're okay. Damn. Get your med clearance. >> Oh, Jesus Christ. It's not even Have you been Have you been in daycare your whole life or what? daycare. >> I'm asking if serious. >> No, no, sir. Did you grow up with the boys down here? >> No, not the I know of them. >> Yeah, I bet you do. You didn't grow up with them. >> I did not. No, >> I guarantee you. >> Alert remote driver's license. Who that? >> What we all waiting for? >> Got paperwork I got to do. Sorry. >> Paperwork? >> Yeah. >> Jesus Christ. How much paperwork is there? >> It's not fun. I'll tell you that much. >> Oh my god. Make it up as you go, I guess. >> Unfortunately, not quite that easy. But >> is there 30 people sitting out here for what? Wasting taxpayers money. That's what they call that. Probably don't know what that means. Do you? >> Yes, sir. I do. >> I bet you don't. >> Have you Have you ever been down in the down in the dirt? >> Many times. >> What's that? >> What do you mean by that? What do you mean by down in the dirt? >> I'll tell you what. I'm an old farm boy from school. And when you don't come up with nothing, you ain't got nothing. But just saying, 99% of these people today, you know what? I kind of I laugh about I don't get two shits, but these homes that cost3 $400,000 that are worth like $60,000 homes. >> Mhm. >> Yep. Someday they're all going to get a rude awakening. >> I agree with you there. I get two shits. >> All right. >> Yeah. You're just thinking whatever whatever you're you're honestly at this moment and I got this whole in the back seat all handcuffed and got my cash in the pocket. I'm going home blah blah blah whatever. I get too I feel sorry for you young people. >> Why is that? Why? >> Yeah. >> You You ain't even got a clue what life is about. Serious. You don't. You seriously don't. I'm You think whatever you want. I mean, I remember my younger days. We all were dumb asses doing whatever. But I can remember honestly back in the day up drunk driving out of town cull a ditch sleep it off. >> You know what nowadays what would they do? Call your ass toing jail the jing jing name. >> I can't say about name. >> No no no. You have no idea. Oh [ __ ] I go go for a walk. >> No. So you're stay in here. Stay in here. Um with that with this being an OWI, I got to read you the informing of the accused and reasons verbatim. >> With that being said, will you submit to an evidentary chemical test of your blood? >> No. Okay. You're wrong. All right. Say you want to put your leg back in. How perfect did these say? No. >> Yeah. >> I guess you got to issue another ticket. >> Yeah, that's what London was saying there. >> Um, this this guy was 0.15. >> Okay. >> So, we're going to release him to a responsible party. Okay. Ain't that something? H [ __ ] Looks like the mayor of Evansville. [ __ ] So he's drunk as whoever else is out here. All right. Still staying here, Dave. The address is listed right there. No estimated points and a deposit of 45250. Okay, so just letting you know, keep your leg in. We'll hopefully be on our way shortly. >> Is a joke. >> God, I'm sure glad you get paid for your wages. >> Take back the PD here real quick. >> You what? Take you back to the PD here real quick. >> Adam 2548 Adam 258 walk in this door right over here. So, >> where's my Ranger at at the moment? >> Uh, we had it towed. >> We had to get it off the street. >> I don't know. >> You don't know. >> I don't think I got dumped off the street, walked up, whatever. I have no idea what's going on. >> Okay. and say, "I will double check with the deputy to see where they took it from so to let you know where where it was towed to." >> No idea. Just asking questions. >> No, absolutely. I get that. I understand. >> I don't know what's going on exactly, but I'm kind of irritated. But >> I understand. But David, are you going to get in the squad car with me so we can go to the hospital really quick? Get this done. >> I'm telling you, I am not taking a blood test. I understand you don't want to, but I again, sorry, you don't have a choice right now. >> I'm not doing it. I have my rights. I do not have to take blood test. >> You do, but I have a search warrant that overrides that. Okay. >> Whatever. Rights are rights. I'm not taking one. >> David, again, we're going to be beating the dead horse here over and over again. >> Down or I don't give a [ __ ] I but again you have your rights but that doesn't mean anything right now >> because I have a search warrant to take a sample of your blood >> you know >> you know what I I never had my one draw and it ain't happen today and it's not going to happen tonight it is me it ain't happening I don't know why for whatever reason I need it I'm a goddamn passenger. Why didn't you tell me this earlier then? >> Nobody ever asked me. >> That is a lie. >> No, it wasn't. >> I asked you multiple times what was happening and you denied even knowing what anything was going on. >> I whatever. But I'm I I was a goddamn passenger. >> That's all I got to say. >> Okay. Y don't cell phones work this joint. >> Um what kind of cell carrier do you have? US Cellular or Verizon? >> US Cellular. >> I say usually they work. >> It's got to be in this room or something. >> What is reason the pump don't work? >> Oh, it could be. It very well could be. But David, again, if I can have you just cooperate with me, get out of here peacefully. Get in the car. We get this rolling. It's done with, over with. Cuz if you're going to continue to be this way, I have units coming just to make sure that my safety is okay and your safety is okay. Okay. >> I ain't worried about my safety me all day. I'd still be dumb enough to get back up and come around. >> Okay. But we don't want to at that point. Okay. Like I said, I want you to just come with me. Go to the car. >> Right is right and wrong is wrong. That's how I look at it. >> Okay. Meaning what in the situation there, David? >> There's no reason. I think there's any reason I need to take a blood test. I'm old school. I don't give two shits, you know. Grew up around here. More boys, Ericson or Ericson boys. Uh, ring hand boys. >> Mhm. >> We all grew up together. You know what? Half of them are dead, half them are hanging on. And I think to myself, it is what it is nowadays. >> Mhm. [ __ ] Right's right. Wrong's wrong. I wasn't rid I wasn't driving. I was riding. And now you're [ __ ] trying to haul my ass to jail for whatever. Whatever. >> Not going to jail. I'll tell you that much. Not going to jail. >> Well, what the hell's the difference? You know what? If you can't write off that perfect little paper, write somebody a ticket. whatever. You know, like I was talking to an old boy today a little bit hours ago. It's like, you know, got out of Vietnam. Yeah. We're talking about [ __ ] It's like, god damn, we skip pulled over and the cop is say take her straight home. Yep. You got it. >> Mhm. >> [ __ ] Think that happen nowadays? I doubt it. >> Unfortunately. Unfortunately, no. >> Yeah. Carried a weapon with you from Vietnam to make sure he did get home. >> But days are different, they say. >> But yeah, >> again, David, can I ask you again to please get in my SWAT car so we can get out of here? We can't have a whole Can we have a whole crew to go? >> Prefer just be the two of us so we can just go and get it done with. I get charged the same. >> Not if it's just the two of us. If you have a crew go and if you are combative, we got more. But if it's just you and me, we go peacefully. >> $5 more on my part. >> Not $5. No difference. You get charged for nothing. If you're going to be resistive and combative towards me and other deputies, then I'm not. I'm just being honest. >> Okay. I'm trying to let you know if you are that way, then you could be serving jail time for the night. Okay. >> [ __ ] At least I got worried about walking home cuz I'm pretty sure where my ranger went from here. I have no idea. >> And I unfortunately don't know that. >> But whatever. Let's get the hell out of here. I It's 3:00 down here. You're going to be buying me breakfast before I die. >> Are you going to go peacefully? >> Well, what the hell am I going to do? Kick in the ass, slap you the other two. >> Just making sure, David. Okay. >> Yeah. You got a cigarette? >> Uh, I do have your cigarettes in the car, but I can't give it to you right now. We we get to the hospital, I can give you one before maybe. before >> before we go inside. >> Good. Okay. Burning daylight. >> Okay. [ __ ] out of me. All right. Same car here. >> Yeah. I see the door over there. >> Oh, got you. Yeah. No, the other officer just left that open. All right. All right. I'm going grab my computer and then we'll head out. >> So, hospitalwise, which hospital are you even talking? >> Uh, we're going Mercy in Jainsville. >> Holy [ __ ] >> 15 minutes away. >> Wow. >> That's like totally the wrong direction for home. >> Yeah. Well, I'll uh we'll come back to the PD here afterward. Let's see. Um whoever's coming pick you up just meet us at the PD. >> Well, I know I'm I'm taking my damn Ranger off when I'm done. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Smokes. I'm done. >> So, I do apologize with the having to get a blood test really quick. I don't know if I can give you one and I'll ask you right now. Um, I know it's just blood, but it's really stupid. When we get out, I promise when we get out, I'll give you one. Okay. Right over door's over there. Okay. No, I got think of that in the way in technically not supposed to. >> Changing your therapy, you know. >> What was that? >> Give me a [ __ ] >> Oh, gotcha. Sorry. A lot of things go over my head a lot, too. So, I was like, that's life. Yeah. >> At the end of the journey when life is towards the end, you're like, "No, some things ain't so important as they used to be." >> Mhm. >> When you're younger, try to keep it straight and narrow path. So, as you get older, you know, like I don't give a anymore. >> Mhm. >> It's true. >> Yeah. >> But honestly, the this this world is up. >> I am not going to disagree with you. I do agree with that. Right here [ __ ] >> Yeah, >> I've been a farm boy my life. I don't get too [ __ ] tonight. I got no slack or nothing. >> Sure. >> I'm just saying it is what it is. >> It is. It very much is. >> Give me just a minute. We'll make a phone call for you. >> Okay. Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> So, I think just have to take a seat for now. I don't know. They'll do it in here. >> Is that here? You want me to adjust those at all? >> Yeah, you could lighten them up a little. >> Yeah, for sure. >> All right. >> You can take them out. I can get two shots, but >> I say I still technically got to leave you in for now. How's that feel? >> That's cool. >> Better. Okay. >> And same for the right one. >> Yeah. >> There we go. >> There you go. That's a little >> a little bit better. So just one click there. Okay. Yeah. See nothing really too terrible. >> I can live with that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. See if you want to take a seat, Dave. And then um sorry it's crumpled but um copy of the warrant for you here. So you can obviously review everything. >> You know what I think about that. So >> sorry. I said, "You know exactly what I thought about that." >> Very, very much. Very much so. But, um, I'm supposed to at least give you a copy. So, >> all right. Thank you. >> All right. Thank you all. [Applause] >> Those those are tempting every time I see them, but >> Yeah. He's like, "Hey, you're not bullshitting me." Just down in Hey Hollow, couple miles down the road from up by the river more. He's like a damn black bear standing in the ditch and it walked across the road in front of the Chevy pickup truck and the guy said his back was about 2 in taller than >> I told you I wasn't bullshitting you. But there's more [ __ ] out there than you realize. >> Oh yeah. >> Bobcats are up the ass. Mhm. >> But I've never seen no big cats or nothing yet. But >> yeah, >> I mean a lot of people on their hunting cameras see them here, there, whatever. But >> Mhm. >> buddy of mine farms as well. He's like, "You know what? If I have a flat tire in the middle of the night out back in Timbuktu, I'm driving home on the rim. I don't give a [ __ ] I'm not walking." >> Uhhuh. >> Not more. >> Yeah. No, them days them walking days are over. I mean, I run some river river bottoms and Jesus Christ. I mean, when it's black back there, it's black. >> Mhm. >> Seat belt this far in front of your face. It's like no [ __ ] way am I walking out of there. In the last 20 years, a lot of things have changed that way, >> you know, as far as the wildlife. >> Oh, sure. >> [ __ ] You don't know what the heck's out there. >> Yeah. >> We got garbage right over here.
