Heat. Heat. I saw that. >> Hey, Eric, I just want to chat with you a little bit more. Okay. >> Uh, just so you know, you are being audio video recorded. All right. Um, here here camera. Um, is this the statement that you filled out for me? >> Yes. >> Okay. Just, you know, making sure, uh, you know, crossing all the tees, dotting all the eyes. I just want to go over it with you so I can be more detailed so that, you know, these charges will, you know, hopefully stick. We want to just give the prosecutor as much information as we can about the All right. So, I'm just gonna um like literally write down a couple more questions, just do a quick Q&A um about some stuff that maybe wasn't answered all the way, you know. Um my first question is going to be um did the subject that what everything happened um did he threaten you? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um, how did he threaten you? >> He said that he would kill me. He said he's going to kill me both in both ways. >> Okay. >> And at the same time while doing that he like lifted up his shirt was reaching like on his belt like he had a gun or something like he was going to pull something out. So he did that while saying that at the same time also he, you know, he was talking like I'm such and such a this or such and such a that. >> Okay. Can you write that down for me? >> Okay. I I think I put it down in there that he say he's going to kill me. >> I know, but what you just told me is more than he's going to kill me. Okay. Okay. Cuz you just said, you know, he said he was going to kill me. He kind of lifted up his shirt like he had something in there. That's, you know, completely different. He's talking about being affiliated with gangs and Okay. >> And um so that's the first question I have for you and I just want you to put your answer. So, um, you guys, you can sit down here if you want to. Um, I push bumper. You want to go outside? I know it's cold. >> Okay. I know. Um, I just wanted to you to be in front of my camera just to verify that that's yours and for like just for record purposes. Yeah, >> I can still hear you and that way you're not cold. Okay. Thank you. >> And I I have a couple other questions for you, too, once you're done writing that one down. Okay. We just want to be as thorough as we can of try and get those charges to stick, you know, >> so that way, you know, police can do >> everything that we can and our that way it's up to the prosecutor's judge. >> Okay. It's not that busy for a Friday night. >> It was busier earlier when I came in like two. >> Really? >> Yeah. It started dying down and then a few other people came in. [screaming] Come on. [screaming] Hallelujah. Okay. You wrote yes. He stated that he would kill me and also reach towards this waist belt line as if he had a weapon or was going to pull one out. Okay. My next question is how did you make how did that make you feel? Were you afraid >> in a sense? Yeah. Because I didn't know what what he was doing and what he had cuz I know like we have to sign here post folks with no weapons or no guns allowed inside. So for him to do that time like I say it was there was a kid in there. So like there was a little kid in there. Mhm. >> That's mainly the reason why I just wasn't so forceful anything happened. Nobody wants to trickle over to get hurt. >> Okay. So you were afraid for your life and then another >> Yeah. >> other people's life. >> Yes. Like I wasn't trying to any other time. Yeah. It would have been different just okay. Okay. The hands on approach is just the next step now because you're already pregnant on the beer with the beer bottle and accidentally get the bartend. So this already escalation for >> Okay. And if you can just answer that one there for me. How did that make you feel? And were you afraid? And if you know you're afraid and then you're afraid for not only your life but you said it was a kid involved that that kid's life, you can put that in there as well. Okay. That's just with the the threats involved. That's a felony. Okay. And so I just want to make sure that I have um you know the meat that that goes into what outlines what that is. >> Oh, you said it multiple times. >> I know. But there are different elements to it and there are elements that kind of you have to feel. You know what I mean? And there are elements that kind of your mindset um and your thought process of what he said and what he did. >> Like it wasn't more of me being afraid. I was afraid but more so just what everyone else because like I mean I'm proud military so I'm just like it doesn't get to me as much as it would everybody else. So for him to say that and everybody else see he's reaching for something, you know, I'm afraid now because basically calling for somebody else just to hurt somebody else. >> Are you guys armed? >> No, we're not. >> So Okay. Were you afraid that he might be armed and you're not armed? >> Yeah, cuz I mean, yeah, he would have an advantage. >> What branch are you? >> Marines and Army. Thank you. >> Oh, no problem. Thank you. I know. I don't know. [cheering] Hallelujah. And you realize we're Lakewood police, not Tacoma police? >> Oh, I didn't know. >> You live in Tacoma, right? >> Yeah. Like I like I literally stay right there off of 96. Yeah, >> that's that's county. >> It's like unincorporated. >> Yeah. Or Lakewood. >> Okay. I see. I'm from Texas. Like say I'm not sure how everything works with the restrictions. So, >> um I only know that cuz I read I read your statement. >> Oh, yeah. And I put the comb in. >> Yeah. It's all good. >> Okay. >> Um cuz we know we're here. We're all wearing, you know, cameras. >> Oh, yeah. I didn't I didn't see none of that. I was like like when I came I didn't know they had said you guys were here on the radio, but I didn't see y'all and I didn't want to leave from up there. So, that's when they was like, "Yo, come on down there to let the police know I'm guessing that's to bring y'all up there so y'all know who he is." What did you think he was going to do to you >> at that point? I mean, I thought I was getting ready to have the fight. It was literally in my head I was preparing to fight him because he kept he just kept threatening me and like I say, he just, you know, he was tapping me like, you know, and it seems like he was trying to test me. >> He he wanted to get their reaction. He's provoking me to do something. So therefore, he might be able to do something. So pretty much I was we we were you know we were in like this close to each other. >> Okay. >> So it was the whole thing of just you know we were in reach and distance of each other. So anything >> you thought it was going to be >> a serious fight. >> Yeah. I mean it might might not might not be serious but it was going to be something. >> Okay. >> With multiple people around. >> Yeah. you can just write, you know, fight or whether he's threatening to harm you, bodily harm or, you know, just, you know, that it doesn't have to be anything, you know, elaborate. Um, >> did you read the question? >> What do you think? >> I know I asked you. >> Yeah. >> More than what I wrote down. I'm sorry about that. No problem. Do you guys have any kind of documentation that he was trespassing here >> uh >> here next door? Whatever it was that your other manager was saying >> as far I'm not sure cuz I'm just I've been here since September. So this is my first incident. Yeah. My first incident with him and >> Gotcha. >> Like even know cuz I've seen him in here throughout the day. >> Yeah. But it's just like I didn't know he wasn't supposed to be here until they called me on the radio telling me to escort him out. So >> is that same manager still here or he's gone? >> No, it's a different one that actually knows more about it. So >> can you ask that manager to come up? >> Yeah, let me go grab. >> Thank you. I appreciate it. Right. [cheering] >> Oh. Hi, >> how are you? >> Good. I'm officer Cole Lake Police Department. Um, I just had a couple questions. So, the other manager I spoke to went home into his shift. Um, he said that you guys had him previously trespassed. Was that something through um police that you did or did you just have him told him yourself that he couldn't be here? Uh we we filled out a form, a trespass form, and we told him he could come in. >> Okay. Do you have a copy of that form? >> Uh I can try and find it. >> Thank you. And um about how much longer on that video? I'm going to try and pick it up while I'm here. >> Thank you so much. >> Thank you. It's just, you know, >> all, you know, we >> we try to do as much as we can while we can, you know. >> Yeah, no problem. >> Um, that way it's my Friday and so I'm gone for four or five days. I come back and >> we got all these other calls pending. I might not be able to follow up as much down the road. So, I'm trying to do as much as I can now to make sure that when I present my report, I have as much as I can have stacked up, you know what I mean? Um, and so that way it's a better chance of the prosecutor deciding to, you know, file these charges. >> So, this mean I might have to go to court at some point. It's a possibility. Um, but also you filling out this statement. It's like you testifying on stand. So, it can take the place of you going to court in a sense. And that's why we keep trying to tell you guys be detailed. This can keep you out of going to court as long as you put, you know, it was dark. I couldn't see. And you know, you every single little piece of detail you can has to be in this because you're setting a scene for somebody who's in the courtroom. You know, they don't know what just happened just now because they weren't here. They're at home eating dinner. So, you got to, you know, tell that story, you know, and that's how you stay out of court. Okay, no problem. >> So, if you ever have to write another one of these, uh, as much detail, you know, he walked in, he was stumbling because he was so intoxicant. You know what I mean? You can smell the odor of, you know, alcoholic beverages on his breath. You know, how long has he been here for? He's been at the bar all day long. You know, >> bars out. >> And what time did your shift start? >> At 2:00. at 2 p.m. And you guys called us about four or five. >> No, he's been here at least a couple hours. Yeah. So, because he walked he walked before in front of me and from what I'm guessing, I guess it was because he signed because he knew I was in his security officer. >> Cuz you let him in. >> Yeah. Because of that, I'm guessing trespass. So, you know, he didn't even mention that like you're officer. You got to be new. Get your boy, you know, he's just >> all just pretty much pretty much. So, >> and so when you say he's patting your test, like he's just trying to see what you're going to do. >> Yeah. Like pretty much like, "All right, man." And he's grabbing my bad like, "What's your name?" Okay, Eric. >> He's doing Yeah. He's pretty much provoking. >> He's doing like a compliance check. He's seeing how much, you know, you're going to take. >> That's what I'm thinking. You go either that or try to see if I have something on one or two reasons. >> Gotcha. Gotcha. >> You know, you're trying to put hands on it. It's not in a visible way like that. You're testing me or you're trying to see what I have with you. >> I got you. I got you. All right. Um I can't think of any other questions right now. The main one was I just need to know how you're feeling in the moment. You felt scared. Um from what you just told me, you felt scared. You didn't know. >> You didn't know if he had a gun or not because he was reaching in his waistband. Um [screaming] >> was he here alone? As far as running, yeah, by himself, he he drove here alone because he tried to give his key away, but I don't know. He He even said that he's supposed to been at work. Supposed to be going to work. So, whether or not he ain't going to work tonight. >> No, he's going to spend the weekend down at um County Down. Um All right. I guess that's all I have for you now. Can you initial for me? initial right there. Right there. Right there. Yep. And I'm going to initiate by my question and then today is the 12th. >> [cheering] >> We got a silver. They're looking up in a binder upstairs. >> Okay. Have a copy of it. >> Okay. >> And your disc is still transport. >> Okay. Does it have like a time or anything? >> No. >> Okay. It should be okay. And the other manager told me about a job. I was just wondering um I was just wondering if it'd be ready while I was still here. Okay. And >> I was going to call you through the emergency number. >> Yeah. And you can ask for officer. Um >> you got you got a card. >> I gave it to the other manager. I'll grab one and give it to you. And you can reference um the case number. >> Yeah, I have a case number on a card. You gave me the other card. You gave me >> two. The other card has two names on it. Mine is above. There's Officer Rodriguez's name on there. I'm Officer Conful. Mine is um I have a business card here in my pocket for you. >> I'll just give you a new one. >> And I'm L cockle. There are a couple other cockals here. >> All right, cool. You got a number. >> You want it on the card? Yeah, it's on the card, but I'll just give you another one. Um, >> so Officer Cole, and >> you can call like like he told you to do, call the non-emergency number. Um, >> which one? >> Yep. >> Okay. >> Um, yeah, this number >> reference that case number and you say, "Hey, Officer Con here. she can come pick up the um the video footage, but you said not too much longer. So, definitely definitely maybe >> it's transporting out of the disc right now. >> You said it has not. >> Okay. All right. >> Might be running slow or something. >> Okay. >> Comes through >> before 1:00 a.m. >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. Cuz that's when my shift is over. >> Okay. >> All right. Thank you so much. >> Oh, and what did you say about the paperwork? He was trespassed from >> from here and on the >> Can I have a copy of that? >> Yeah, I think we're getting report right now. >> Okay. Okay. And um got it. >> Okay. Thank you. That'd be that'd be awesome. >> What's your name? >> Matthew is his last name. They first one we got just here. This is a bull for us. And this was created August 5th, 21. Do you want me to run make a copy of it? >> He might be grabbing the same thing or if his and this is fine cuz I'll just take a copy of what you print me out anyway or I'll take a picture of it. It's easier for us to do pictures to do on like a online server. >> Okay. You know, you get the shadows and all agent safely. Yeah. Permission prematurity bar for as aggressive security. Pretty much what he did today. birthday. [cheering] Okay. You guys don't have very many that are B. >> It's the this one. >> Okay, awesome. I just grabbed a couple pictures of those and this is just what you guys have as far as him being trespassed. I can see what date and time and stuff it was printed on. >> Uh we have incident reports too. >> That's that'd be great. I can submit that as evidence and it will strengthen the criminal trespass that we're trying to charge him with. >> The same thing happen. >> Okay. And is this all the same property? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, what we have here is on our computer, we don't have paperwork that says that we trespassed him, which we could have and it could have not been entered, but if you guys have it, that's great because I can take him and I can submit it as evidence that he was in fact trespassed. And so, we're going to charge him with this as well. >> So, that's what we're trying to do. >> Okay, cool. >> Thank you. >> So, I'll call you. >> That's perfect. Thank you. My video is not >> Okay, thank you. All right. Thanks for answering these questions. Now, >> this might be the instrument before recording. >> Oh, that's it. >> I'm not I don't I don't see the date, so that's why. But that sounds like pretty much the same thing. >> You guys don't have names on here? >> Uh, no. I didn't even have his name on the incident report now. I just filled that with him cuz I didn't know his name until now once we did that one. What date is this? >> Uh, I'm not sure. That's what I'm saying. That obviously I was working. >> Oh, you were? Were you here with uh what's his name? Was would this be the one for him? The answer. >> We got We got instant reports of bartenders. We got in waitresses. I filled one out. Uh the hell he jumped on my back when I was walking out last time we were walking him out. >> He jumped on my truck back. We got video of that, too. >> Wow. Hopefully these charges that I'm doing tonight, you know, stick and and all that. I am going to go back to the station and start typing up my report. >> Sorry to make your job even longer. >> No, it's fine. Um, >> keep busy. So, if you guys find anything else that might be helpful, kind of just gather it in the pile and when I come back for that video, just give it to me with that. And >> okay, if it's before 10:00, I'll be here, but after 10:00, I'll be gone. It'll be the next question. >> Okay. >> And I will make sure to patch you. >> Thank you. You know, I'm praying that that thing gets done pretty soon cuz like I said, >> it's a lot easier for me to just submit it with my packages, everything, you know, to put that bow on top and >> be like, "Oh, yeah. I forgot. I got to put this in." >> Yeah. Cuz then it'll be another officer that comes if it's like tomorrow. >> I'm off tomorrow. >> Okay. >> And so another officer will do it and you know, um, supervisors and stuff like that. So yeah, if it's done, you guys call that non-emergency number. We'll come back out. It'll it'll be me just just um I'll come back out. >> All right. Thank you guys. >> All right. >> Same. >> Yeah. >> Same thing happened up there. >> Yeah. Really? >> Yeah. >> Same guy. >> They got him. Yeah. Bard up there, too. >> Wow. >> This guy's a menace. >> Yeah. Wow. Well, we I mean, we take these types of things serious. That's why I'm still here doing followup and all that. Um, we're going to do what we can to I mean, he's already booked on on several charges and a report will be filed and tapped up and sent to the prosecutor. Once we do that, it's on the prosecutors and the judge whether they, you know, want to charge them for whatever. But >> it's on private property. The police can't touch it, but business owners can call a private cell. Um, >> ticket happened in my day. I was up there for a while. Moving around the property >> and that was my day off. I came back to work. It was after a holiday camera and he was in there and I know him because I've seen before that last night. >> Wow. I close the we don't have a report on it because it happened last night. It hasn't been documented yet. >> I believe he left. >> Right. Right. I mean, every property is going to burn. >> See, that's why that video footage is going to be great because we have that. It's something to show the prosecutor. These handwritten statements, that's why I came back, followed up with you on it. >> You know, so that's what the prosecutor wants. You know, it's one thing them reading what we said you said, but for you to say what you said, for them to see what happened on video, that's going to get the charges. And so, you know, >> we might even pull him out. >> The the one for tonight is most important because he's booked on several several charges. Okay. >> And it that video footage is going to be the key. So, once that's done, just give me a call. I'll come right back out. And that way when I handed him my report is to bow on top and I can say, "Hey, here's everything." Okay. >> Um, you got to go through our dispatch. >> Okay. >> Because I have to be sent out here through dispatch. >> Okay. >> Um, >> I got your number. >> Yeah. >> And >> Oh, yeah. >> It'll be it'll be me that comes back out, but just you can say my I'm Officer Coppel. Um, and and I'll come back out. >> Okay. >> All right. And it's my district. It's my territory five days a week. So, if it's my Friday, though, so if it's not done tonight Yeah. end till 5 a.m. >> Oh, I'm done at 1:30. >> So, >> I'm sure it'll be done by I'll give you a call. I'm sure >> Okay, that'd be great. Thank you guys. >> Good night. >> Yeah. Are you available to assist county 100 block at 62 Avenue PT3? >> I'll be clearing back in service. They're gonna call back in a little bit when uh um because they got some updates.
