On July 10th, 2024, officers with the West Allis Police Department were called [snorts] to a Burger King in West Allis, Wisconsin after employees reported a woman yelling, throwing items, and causing a disturbance [music] inside the restaurant. Before officers arrived, she boarded a Milwaukee County Transit bus across the street. So, officers [music] stopped the bus and spoke with her. This is definitely an interesting one, so let's see what happens. >> Okay, I'm going to hold her down. The young lady The young lady in the back just got on. You know what? That [ __ ] should No, that [ __ ] that [ __ ] shouldn't have been on my ass like that. I'm good people. I'M GOOD TO EVERYBODY I MEET. >> OKAY, this woman walked into a simple conversation already acting like her arrest papers were ready. This is one loud and unpleasant person. Ma'am, nobody was trying to rush you into handcuffs, but somehow the situation kept getting worse. Her repeated claims that she's a good person may simply be a defensive reaction. You know, when people feel accused of doing something wrong, they may focus more on proving they're good instead of dealing with what they actually did. >> That [ __ ] said it should she she said he on my ass for no reason cuz she ugly [ __ ] I'm too pretty for that [ __ ] I'm too pretty for that [ __ ] [ __ ] suck my daddy dick. >> Stop yelling. >> YOU [ __ ] UGLY [ __ ] [ __ ] ass [ __ ] >> BRO, WALK AWAY. YOU'RE GOING TO GET ARRESTED. >> Y'all got no training in this. That [ __ ] need to go to a [ __ ] animal shelter with her ugly looking ass. That [ __ ] look like a [ __ ] zoo, you know? Sit down. >> 3 minutes in and I'm already done with this woman. These officers have a lot of patience, man. She's just extremely annoying. Honestly, you've got to give the officers credit for staying calm. You know, she clearly thought that she could get her way. Ma'am, if your defense is calling everyone ugly while also threatening to come back and fight them, you're not exactly helping yourself. Honestly, she's making the officers' job 10 times harder. >> I'm already [ __ ] sitting. >> Don't. Jesus Christ. >> [ __ ] suck my [ __ ] hoe. You [ __ ] ass [ __ ] [ __ ] ass [ __ ] >> You ain't going to [ __ ] spit on us. >> I'll bite the [ __ ] out of you. Move your head. Move your head closer. Move your head. I'll bite the [ __ ] out of you. I'll bite the [ __ ] mess out of your damn [ __ ] >> You are a ass. >> You are illegal. That's [snorts] why you are illegal. I'm going to annoy y'all [ __ ] I'm going to ask. >> Stop. >> You know what? Why don't you send me to an ambulance cuz y'all are pressuring me. >> What? >> Y'all scheduled >> Y'all putting abuse on me. >> Just shut it. >> You know I'll take this [ __ ] ass seat belt the [ __ ] off. [ __ ] what the [ __ ] you do that for? >> Nothing's actually broken. There's a whole lot of disorderly behavior. >> [ __ ] YOU ARE DISORDERLY. YOU [ __ ] DUMB ASS [ __ ] Y'ALL CAN'T >> [screaming] >> ME. YOU WASN'T NEVER HURTING ME. YOU [ __ ] Y'ALL CAN'T Y'ALL CAN'T ME. Y'ALL CAN'T [ __ ] [ __ ] >> DID SHE SPIT on you? >> Yeah. >> She spit in your face, RIGHT? >> [ __ ] YOU STUPID [ __ ] [ __ ] >> ALL RIGHT, SHE'LL WALK to her owner if she has any other cases or They didn't charge her with Scotty P. She's got her >> No, I didn't get to keep them all back. >> For donkey kicking him in the knee? Did he get like hurt? >> Oh, that one. >> My guess is she has an open felony case. >> I [screaming] HATE YOU. I HATE YOU. Y'ALL [screaming] SHUT UP. I HATE YOU. >> [crying and screaming] >> I [laughter] [ __ ] HATE YOU. >> WHAT'S THAT, LAMB? LIKE I THOUGHT HE WAS TRYING TO BE FUNNY. >> YOU STUPID [ __ ] COPS. I [screaming] [ __ ] HATE YOU. YOU [ __ ] UGLY [ __ ] I HATE YOU. I HATE YOU. >> Spitting at an officer, trying to bite an officer, kicking, or physically fighting back can lead to more charges depending on the state and the situation. And under Wisconsin state law, the moment physical threats or biting come into play, a simple public disturbance instantly turns into a severe felony offense. This situation ties into a long-standing legal rule on resisting police officers. In State vs. Hobson, a defendant argued that people should be allowed to physically resist an arrest if they believe the arrest is unfair or unjustified. But, the Wisconsin Supreme Court rejected the argument. [music] The court made it clear that a person cannot legally fight, bite, or assault an officer who is carrying out their duties simply because they disagree with the arrest. Whatever started the original dispute, once someone physically attacks an officer, the conduct can lead to a separate criminal charge. In other words, arguing with the police is one thing, but turning the argument into a physical attack can create an entirely new legal problem. >> [screaming] [screaming] [gasps] [screaming] >> DID SHE DO A THROW A WOBBLER AT THE EMPLOYEE OR WHAT? >> I have no idea. >> Y'ALL SOME BREAKFAST ASS [ __ ] THAT'S WHY Y'ALL GOING TO EAT YOUR DICK. >> NO, WE'LL BE OVER ALL THAT LATER. >> [laughter] >> BREAKFAST ASS UGLY YOU UGLY I SHOULD HAVE SPIT ON YOU. YOU DIRTY IT, RAT! YOU STUPID [ __ ] UP CHARGER! >> SHE knows she is trying to hurt her looking. There's somebody that could get cell phone ready. >> You stupid [ __ ] dirty ass [ __ ] [ __ ] You [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] YOU [ __ ] [ __ ] ASS [ __ ] Hey you dumb asses! Hurry the [ __ ] up, you [ __ ] ugly prick! YOU [ __ ] SHORT LITTLE [ __ ] HEY, I HURT IN MY RIBS, TOO. I'M TELLING. I'M TELLING ON YOUR ASS. >> [laughter] >> Now we get the million dollar mystery. Apparently, nobody knows exactly what started this whole mess. Was it a Whopper? Was it an argument with an employee? And then came the fake crying. You know, seriously, it sounded like an 8-year-old who just learned a few bad words. Not surprisingly, Joanne kept screaming for the rest of the ride to the West Alice Police Department. >> All right, are you going to be able to come out and follow directions and stuff? >> Most likely. >> What's that? What's that? >> I said I can't! You hurt my [ __ ] chest! WHY WOULD I YELL? >> I don't know. I was just asking if you can come out. You're kicking and spitting at me. >> Are you going TO PLAY WITH ME OR [ __ ] ARREST ME, you [ __ ] >> All right. All right, take off your seatbelt. Oh, you have it on. So, if you want to just step on out. >> You [ __ ] ugly [ __ ] >> She didn't need any more fast food. She needs to find clothes that actually fit her. How does anyone get to a point like this? You know, there's clearly a serious lack of self-control [music] and basic manners. I can never be a cop dealing with situations like this, you know. The officers are asking for one simple thing, follow their directions. Unfortunately, that seems to be the hardest thing for her to do all night. Joanna was charged with and found guilty of resisting an officer, disorderly conduct, and battery. She was sentenced to 2 years and 90 days in jail for her actions. The case became much more serious once the situation allegedly involved physical resistance and battery. You know, disorderly conduct covers disruptive behavior, while resisting an officer and battery can carry much heavier consequences, especially when officers are physically attacked during the arrest. Her conviction and sentence show how quickly a restaurant disturbance can turn into a serious criminal case. Her constant yelling, threats, and extreme emotional reactions may have been driven by anger, panic, or lack of impulse control. And none of that excuses the behavior, but it may help explain why she kept escalating instead [music] of calming down. You know, sometimes the biggest mistake is continuing to fight a situation that could have ended much earlier. But, what do you think? Was Joanna making her own situation worse by refusing to calm down? Or do you think the officers should have handled her differently? Drop your opinion in the comment section below.
