on January 23rd 2022 officers were on duty in The Downtown Bar area of De Moine Iowa commonly called Court Avenue during their patrol they encountered a woman who appeared to need assistance the officers aiming to help attempted to contact her parents while they were making efforts to call her mother and father the woman suddenly and unexpectedly punched one of the officers in the groin no I'm not doing anything wrong she assaulted no did she she punched me who does that right in the face not in the balls no Mommy I'm not doing anything mom I'm just so been a while since I heard someone cry for their mommy besides my kids following this assault the officers attempted to arrest her however she began yelling loudly and screaming at them making it difficult for the officers to manage the situation calmly the officers tried to deescalate her behavior repeatedly asking her to calm down but she showed no signs of cooperation her aggressive actions and Loud outbursts continued to worsen the situation I did nothing just the alleyway y be careful I done nothing I really done nothing to get my C on the this way [Music] careful shut [Music] up are you going to walk then are you going to walk I can't are you going to walk walk normal like a normal person I can't let's go I can't I [Music] pleas pleas [Applause] when the officers attempted to place her inside the patrol vehicle her behavior became even more erratic she screamed loudly and acted in a manner that was increasingly difficult to control despite numerous requests to calm down her behavior did not improve the officers hoping to conclude the incident in an orderly fa significant challenges due to her her continuous resistance and erratic conduct as her behavior escalated further the officers had no choice but to take stronger measures to handle the situation the woman began kicking and punching the officers during the arrest process leaving them with no alternative but to restrain her [Music] vehicle she continued yelling and screaming showing no signs of calming down the officers transported her to the police station for further investigation throughout the journey her behavior remained unchanged as she screamed and yelled loudly inside the vehicle in the East L well she's going to be going to jail tonight she punched a police officer she punched a police officer so she's going to be like I'm in my mom's car see you guys at 1:30 no you shut your mouth if you guys are not busy what was that upon arrival at the station the officers brought her out of the vehicle to complete the necessary documentation her disruptive behavior persisted during this process making the situation challenging for those involved how you doing bud all right all right i' better with a cigarette though you didn't take them all away if you can give me a couple minutes here what go here here we'll come this way I you want to take that wallet I ask she this door right here hey when we go inside speak with you so what I want to do I don't know what you're talking about I hav done nothing wrong okay all right and I'm going to just talk to you about it okay because we want you to get through the process see if you got a bond someone can find yet okay just need to go home with my mom and dad 104 I totally get it so let's see what's going on all right cuz they'll they'll give the information to us clerks and then we'll see if you got a bond see what's going on you can make phone no they want to kill my dog they want to kill no way okay let's come out of here and we'll we'll required paperwork the officers placed her in a holding cell later the woman was brought before the court to face multiple charges including disorderly conduct resisting an officer public intoxication and assault on a police officer these charges stemmed from her aggressive and erratic Behavior which included assaulting an officer yelling resisting arrest and failing to cooperate throughout the
