and writing tickets or finding bad guys or whatever but sometimes it's as simple as uh you know grabbing a puppy you know and hanging on to him and you never know what you're going to find early in the morning yeah absolutely more of a dog guy I should send it to my wife but the last time I sent one to my wife we got it so it's my new partner Big Time softy especially for puppies but you know like I said out there who doesn't love puppies so last week so the week prior on a Tuesday uh about 700 in the morning we we get a call for a hit and run in Lakeside next to uh was actually in a RV parking lot good on good on one of our other deputies who was Vigilant and kept an eye out for uh the a vehicle matching that description and possibly having a front end damage so uh yeah around uh 11: in the morning he saw the exact vehicle to a te almost you know B the same vehicle shown on the video surveillance with heavy front and damage being towed uh on a flatbed trailer driving through town and we happened to be just up the road so the other Deputy stopped it we were just up the road um went over and uh went to investigate 1122 yeah looks like that could easily be our truck well here you seem to know a bit about it yeah so this is Deputy Stubblefield he's investigating a like a hit run basically that involves a vehicle that matches the description so I'll let him talk to you about it yeah how's it going man what's up good hey Cooper hey so I know that I don't know how much they've explained you what is it your vehicle or um it's it's under an LLC so it's not registered to me but it was a vehicle that I was using for work okay I I from the get go the way when I started questioning him I I kind of sens that he was going to start lying with kind of some runaround questions why not just answer directly no or yes okay um the the deal is we have I don't we're just investigating at this point but we have a vehicle same exact description last week we have it on camera just caused like three grand worth of damage on camera so have you like let somebody else use your car or um not that I could how recent is the damage I guess is my question it was yeah it's been about a week I'd say sitting at the motel for a week what motel comfor in okay but it's your truck um yeah I've been using it yeah so who else is at access so it's been sitting there a week or like the damage occurred a week ago you'd say do you know how the damage occurred um cuz I have a piece of this truck in my car right now I was going to say I don't want to lie to just be straight up okay is there any reason why you didn't stop or um I had stopped a few times over there like why you why you didn't report the damage yeah I was just trying to deal with it and I could see you got it towed cuz I didn't see a fluid Trail coming out of the parking lot so did you get it toad no how how'd you get home it was driving it was driving I parked it down you just able to get it to stop that call as if I want to I want to get Justice for the victim I want to make an arrest and hold whoever is responsible for committing that crime um accountable do you have a driver's license on you sir okay you CA like at least $3 to $4,000 in damage man you hit the RV over there Arizona state law you have to notify somebody when you when you commit an act or when you obviously get involved in an accident cause damage okay so right now you're under arrest for criminal damage and hit and run okay we don't have a choice on that CU there's victims there I appreciate you being honest man I'll asleep and okay ran off the road and hit a post okay Tuesday about 5: in the morning you know the Alberto's Mexican restaurant is in Lakeside this vehicle we got on camera was driving around the parking lot obviously the person appeared to be intoxicated the way you're driving took out a bunch of steel posts a bunch of boxes a bunch of signs hit an RV okay and then he drove off the vehicle was spraying fluid on the ground onto the roadway we were able to follow the fluid into Lakeside by Maverick he pulled into a lot we couldn't find where he went after and the vehicle was gone but he caused at least I mean we haven't got an exact amount but $3 to $4,000 worth of damage to everybody's property that he destroyed okay so that's why he's under arrest right now this is news to you just told me yeah news to you my my understanding is he just asked you to help him out to tow it and that's all you're doing you didn't know anything about it being being involved in a crime he told me that all that that he done you wouldn't help him I would not help him I believe it you seem like an honest guy sir um I wouldn't go put it on go rent a Traer and put it on a Traer and and haul it through town we don't have need to impounder or have much interest in it I just need to photograph it enough I I I I'm not I'm not accusing you of knowing about it I'm just I'm just explaining it all extradition $25,000 warrant for a stolen vehicle 43178 code for Runner driver's license info and checker for warrants and immediately we get a hit uh for a warrant uh down in Puma County across the state and a just a plethora of charges I think it about 13 felony charges total a conspiracy trafficking stolen property um theft of a motor vehicle um operating and conducting a criminal Enterprise price and a substantial substantial bond amount on it for $25,000 so um yeah I wanted one of the heftiest warrants in state that I've seen with that many felony charges stolen vehicle illegally conducting an Enterprise and conspiracy so she has a title for this one but it's kind of weird out of Oregon so we'll wait for a second officer to get here um make sure there's no weapons in there try to get her out safely so we can uh take her into custody for that it's relatively new though is issued the 14th of January today's the 11th of February so about a month old going to be a full extradition with the $25,000 you want me to go ahead and confirm that works definitely uh definitely kind of heightens everything now and you kind of gives you a picture right of of the person you're dealing with that you thought maybe just had a correct windshield I was able to get a return for the car out of Oregon you did get you do have it pulled up it looks like perfect yeah you're oh well a stolen vehicle and then conducting a criminal Enterprise I don't I don't know all it shows me is a charges on it can I call my boyfriend and let him know absolutely I'm going to just get you out of the wind and off the side of the road so people aren't driving by um anything else illegal in your pockets do you want anything out of the vehicle yeah what do you want my purse okay I can get that got her yeah so okay pretty good pop 255k out of Pima County for a stolen vehicle is that one 1040 or no first what's that is this one 1040 or no not not that I've seen so far nothing that but she's already like immediately like I want my boyfriend to come get in so we're going to we're going to tow it yeah inventory but just going to 100% make sure that it's valid out of Pima County okay so they just called Pima County it is valid and extraible so we do have to take you in for that warrant okay as far as a car goes it's agency policy we have to tow it okay so we're going to tow it it's not going to be impounded you can get it out immediately but it has to get towed in incident to arrest okay I told you you can make a phone call I can absolutely let you make a phone call okay okay don't have to but I will um um this officer is going to let you make the phone call okay I'm going to get your purse out I need my phone too yep yep I'll make sure your phone goes okay and then uh we'll get going so we can get you out of those cuffs and then if you're going to try to bail out or bond out you you can start that process immediately okay once we get there okay we don't blow away first damn dude yeah this is absurd down here oh oh my God here we go right here I asked her if there is any weapons in the vehicle she said no but the first thing we find during a vehicle inventory it's a firearm so she said no fully loaded looks like it's a Springfield 45 so she was asked she said no I'm going to clear that out we'll see if that's stolen or what's going on with that gun or if she's allowed to possess Firearms so that's already not a good sign right there gosh it's windy 4329 on a firearm please bunch of cash oh gosh just saved it is not that was close to Springfield 45 caliber serial number Sam cby thanks no record on the firearm 43 back can you run a CCH on the 101 check for Bon any convictions please she has a lot a lot of cash she has another title for a vehicle in here to conceal them from the interior so something we've been checking more often is just looking for magnets on the frame or any metal but it's a definitely a kind of an emerging Trend we've been seeing as far as hiding narcotics on vehicles he let you make your phone call right yes okay good okay I'm just going to your rights cuz you're under arrest okay so you have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in court of law you have the right to talk to an attorney and have hermer present War being questioned if you cannot afford to hire an attorney won't least okay so at this point um it's a she admitted she didn't say anything about the gun which is a criminal offense in Arizona when law enforcement asked about weapons in the vehicle she also admitted that she's a prohibited uh possessor of firearms for uh she's a convicted Fel and it sounds like for an aggravated assault charge for trying to run over her ex-boyfriend in Apache County about eight years ago so she's not allowed to possess Firearms also uh didn't disclose that she had a firearm in the vehicle when asked so on top of the felony arrest warrant for the vehicle theft and operating a criminal Enterprise she's going to be uh have local charges for uh weapons misconduct and a prohibited possessor in possession of a firearm so good gun off the street somebody that shouldn't be having a gun right now and uh the vehicle's about to get towed and we're going to get going I've never seen a warrant for that though for operating a criminal Enterprise okay we're going
