I didn't do anything wrong. I'm just there shopping to feed my son. Someone probably used me or something. I don't know. I've never been banned. Why? It's not all of that. Why you going to walk up on me out of nowhere and just tell me I'm banned? I didn't do nothing. I don't understand why. WHY ARE YOU WHY ARE YOU not supposed to be here? >> SHOPLIFTING >> I'M NOT SHOPLIFTING. >> Imagine getting caught shoplifting at Walmart and then making the situation even worse with your own words. Hello everyone. In today's video, we're looking at a woman whose story keeps falling apart as officers uncover more details. By the time she realized how serious the situation was, she had already given them plenty of reasons to arrest her. On June 8th, 2026, officers responded to a Walmart after a woman [music] was suspected of retail theft. When the officers checked the store's records, they found information [music] connecting her to previous incidents. She continued arguing and changing her story, but her own statements [music] soon revealed even more about what happened. Now, before anyone realizes what's happening, the situation's already getting out of hand. Let's jump in and see it. >> I'm confused. I didn't do anything wrong. >> All right. Don't worry. Don't worry. >> I got a son to make it to, so I didn't do anything wrong. I don't know what they're talking about. I was never banned from here. >> Like you've >> Oh my god, I didn't do anything wrong. I'm just there SHOPPING TO FEED MY SON. >> ALL RIGHT. REAL QUICK. What's your name? >> Sierra. >> Sierra? Okay. It sounds like you have an unserved order of protection, so we got to get that taken care of, okay? >> I didn't do anything wrong. I'm confused. >> Okay. So, it sounds like you've been trespassed from previous Walmarts and they put it nationwide, meaning you can't go to any Walmart. Have you been trespassed from another Walmart before? >> No. >> No? Okay. Could you tell me why it's entered in their system then? >> I don't know. Someone probably used me or something. I don't know. I've never been banned. >> Okay. That's what they have on their computer, so that's what we're here for. It sounds like you have an unserved order of order of protection, so we got to get that taken care of, get you some paperwork, okay? >> I never said I've never been banned. >> Exactly, like I don't get it. >> taken, it's just entered into our system. >> Yeah, that's >> The only thing is the order of protection. >> Yeah, that's it. >> Yeah. >> I asked once >> The last person that I got banned was back. >> Someone say they were coming with you or >> If I If I can't come back, I get that. >> Someone say they were coming with the form? >> Yeah, yeah. >> Okay. >> A A A is coming. >> If I can't come back, I get that, but they never told me that. >> What's your full name, Sierra? >> I would have never came here. >> Can I Can I explain something to you real quick? So, it looks like it's nationwide. So, we're >> So, I can never go to Walmart again? Like this is where I stop. >> So, you're going to be trespassed from this Walmart as well. So, we do have a unserved order of protection, we got to give you the paperwork for that. And then once we do all that, it sounds like after that you're going to be free to go. But we do have to get all the paperwork sorted. It's going to take a little bit of time. >> So, I can't shop at any Walmart? Is this what you guys are >> That's what it sounds like, yeah. >> And that's that's uh you know, something they have been active. I mean, they have your picture flagged in all Walmarts. And it's you. Janetta Bennett? >> No, Sierra. >> How do you How do you spell >> C I E R R A >> And who's Janetta Bennett? >> I don't >> You have no You told me you have nothing with your name on it. >> Nothing. I don't have anything. I don't have anything. I don't have anything. I have all my money. I don't have nothing. >> You have nothing with your name on it. >> Nothing, nothing, nothing. Nothing, just my money, nothing. I have nothing. I don't have to lie. >> [snorts] >> I DON'T HAVE TO LIE. >> Your friend mentioned something about the Montgomery location. Can you tell me what happened there? >> Yeah, but it was they just walked up on us and told us, "Oh, you guys can't be here." That same thing happened there. I don't understand what's going on. But they never told me I couldn't come in here. >> Okay. >> She wasn't arguing with a random employee. She was arguing with a computer record that had her name and photo on it. That's not a debate she's going to win. Her constant yelling was incredibly annoying and it only made the situation worse, right? If there was an award for the worst acting by Walmart shoplifter, she'd probably win it. >> That's why I said, I've been banned, BUT NOT LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHY. I WAS NO REASON. THEY JUST CAME UP TO ME. >> OKAY, we got called here. We got called here for the trespass. We're trying to figure everything out, okay? Looks like it's your picture on there. Not the same first name though. Do you What was the first name? >> Here it says Chin- Chineta. C H I N E T A. Chineta. >> Chineta? Do you have anyone in your family by that name? Do you know anyone by that name? >> No. >> Have you given that name before? >> No. >> I'm not trying to judge, we're just trying to figure out what's going on with this. >> I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe they got it mixed up. They get I don't know. Like I don't I don't know. Like I don't know what to say to you guys. Like I've I've never been banned from here. >> so so listen. So that's what we're looking into, okay? We're verifying everything. We're taking in everything you told us, okay? They told us one thing, you're telling us that we're just comparing, okay? That's all we're doing. All right? We're not on anybody's side here. We're not against you, we're not for you, we're not against them, we're not for them. We're just trying to understand the nature, all right? >> Excuse me. >> Do you know your ID number by heart? Your driver's license number? ID number? Some people do. I don't, but some people for some reason do. And after I get all >> I know I'm innocent. >> What's that? >> This is my mom. Mom. >> Go on. >> They don't believe me. They don't understand. My name is Chineta. That's why I said God is being honest. When I went to Walmart and they came up to me and stuff, I told them that it was my sister's so that I wouldn't get banned, but it I DON'T KNOW WHAT FOR. LIKE I DON'T KNOW. >> OKAY, YOU NEED >> SO YOU gave them your sister's name this last time. >> Before last time. I got in trouble for it, so I didn't like Exactly. >> Okay, we're trying to figure out what's going on right now. >> What's your sister's name? >> Chineta. >> Chineta? Okay. >> Mom, could you tell THEM MY NAME, MY BIRTHDAY, and everything? >> It's okay. We don't need to talk to her right now. Anybody? >> They came up >> to me out of nowhere saying I'm banned on this damn where you guys going to That's not fair. I WAS NOT ABLE TO GO TO EVERY ONE OF MY GOOD FRIENDS >> WHAT'S NOT FAIR IS YOU'RE USING UP YOUR sister's name and name you don't have no idea >> Well, that mystery didn't last very long, did it? Then out of nowhere she casually admitted, "Yeah, I use my sister's name before so I wouldn't get banned." Uh With that one sentence she basically solved the case for the officers without them even asking the tough questions. And casually admitting to using someone else's name is actually where a simple shoplifting stop turns into a serious felony. This situation ties into a broader legal principle involving false identities and obstruction. [music] Um In cases such as State versus L.M., defendants have argued that [music] giving an officer a family member's name isn't a serious crime because they didn't steal money or use someone else's credit card, but courts have treated the issue differently. Giving law enforcement a false name or someone else's identity to avoid a property ban, an outstanding warrant, or other legal consequences can create a separate criminal offense. The key issue is the intent behind the lie. When someone knowingly gives another person's name to mislead officers and escape the consequences of their own actions, a simple [music] store dispute can quickly turn into an additional criminal case. >> I know I got in trouble for that. >> Okay, I understand from our perspective we don't know you from from Right? We don't We never met you before. So when we're getting different names and they have all this information here on the back >> I was just >> Okay. So, just relax. It'll be okay. >> I don't understand what I did wrong. I'm I'm being HONEST WITH YOU GUYS. >> OKAY, WE'VE EXPLAINED what's going on. >> I don't understand what's going on. >> We just need to confirm a few things, okay? >> Like what? I DON'T UNDERSTAND. How do you guys walk up on me out of nowhere and just tell me I'm banned and I did nothing? >> Okay. Sierra, we we've told you we need to figure out what's going on. We're verifying a few things. >> Sierra, my me AND MY SISTER LOOK JUST ALIKE. DID YOU GET ON THE PHONE? LIKE WHAT THE >> OKAY. WHAT IS YOUR AND WHAT IS YOUR sister's name? >> Shanita. >> Shanita? Okay. >> [clears throat and sighs] >> All right. Leave me for a second. All right. >> If you don't mind. >> We need you to look up, okay? HOW DO YOU WHAT WHAT DO I KEEP GETTING MIXED UP? I'M RIGHT HERE. >> SO THE REA- SO the reason that you can move your hair back, what we're trying to do is we're trying to figure >> I'M RIGHT HERE. I I DON'T UNDERSTAND. I'M [ __ ] I'M OKAY. MY SISTER IS SHANITA. I'M SIERRA. WE LOOK JUST ALIKE. LIKE I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU GUYS ARE TRYING TO DO RIGHT NOW. >> WE'RE CONFIRMING IT. LISTEN. We're What I don't understand is where are y'all getting this from? >> Yeah, BECAUSE YOU GUYS KEEP COMING HERE ALL THE TIME. LIKE WE WANT TO GO HOME. LIKE MY MY SON IS WITH MY MOM RIGHT NOW, AND I'M JUST I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. Like >> Well, we've explained a couple times. We're just trying to figure out because we're trying to see if there's some sort of issue with the We're going to look at the picture. >> There's not. I'm Sierra. >> Okay. >> I'm Sierra. What do I have TO LIE ABOUT? NO, THAT'S MY SISTER. How did you get on the phone? Like I don't want to >> Okay. >> I don't have to lie. >> Okay. Okay. She's kind of personal. >> That's my sister. Mom, can you show my mom? Can you show my mom? Like literally, that's my sister. How are y'all going to JUST MIX ME UP? THAT'S MY SISTER. >> You think that's the one that we're looking >> All right. Can you lift your head up one more time? Pull your hair out of your face. Okay. Do you have a piercing? >> No. Oh. >> You have no piercing. Does your sister have a piercing? >> No. No, my sister doesn't have a piercing. Neither one of us has piercings. >> Have you ever had >> NO. I'VE NEVER HAD A PIERCING. >> OKAY. SO, why would your driver's license photo have a piercing then? >> I don't know. I've never had a piercing before. >> In your driver's license photo? >> I NEVER HAD A PIERCING. I PUT DIAMONDS ON MY FACE TO FAKE LIKE A PIERCING, BUT I DON'T HAVE A PIERCING. >> OKAY. SO THAT THAT'S >> I DON'T HAVE TO LIE. LIKE WHAT AM I LYING ABOUT? NO, BECAUSE this is not I'm Sierra. I just CAME HERE TO STOP. >> OKAY. >> YOU I'VE NEVER MET YOU BEFORE. >> OKAY. >> It was a black GUY THAT I AT THE AT THE END. I LIKE >> ALL RIGHT. SHE'S ACTUALLY got two warrants. One out of DuPage County, one out of Kane. The one out of DuPage is an ROR. The one out of Kane is no bond. >> All right. How do I have a warrant? Like >> Real quick, can you do me a favor? Stand up. >> How do I have a warrant? >> I need you to stand up. >> How do I have a warrant? Are you sure YOU GOT THE RIGHT NAME? >> We're going to go back to our PD. >> Are you sure you have the RIGHT NAME? I DON'T UNDERSTAND. >> FIRST, she said that she never had a purse. Then just a few seconds later, she admitted, "Well, I used fake diamonds to make it look like I had one." Um that didn't do much to make her story believable. Then the officers found out she had two active [music] warrants, including one with no bond. The moment she heard that, all her confidence disappeared. It's funny how reality can end an argument much faster than any debate. >> Yeah. I'll tell you what. At PD, we will triple-check >> I can't call my son. >> Okay. So, if you could please >> I understand. >> [gasps] >> WHAT AM I GOING FOR? I DON'T UNDERSTAND. >> All right. All right. Just want you to Just want you to take your purse off so that you don't get stuck with it on. >> Why though? Why? Why am I doing this? >> ALL RIGHT. >> WHY? >> Please take your purse off. >> Why? I don't understand. Why? >> So, again, we we explained it to you. We'll explain it more at the PD. But for now, you can just take your purse off. >> WHY THOUGH? WHY? WHY THOUGH? BUT WHERE'S MY FRIEND? LIKE WHY? I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. >> ALL RIGHT. Just take your hands by your side. >> Why? Why is my purse supposed to be off? >> Stop. Stop with this. >> I'M NOT LISTENING. I'M NOT LISTENING. I'M NOT LISTENING. >> STOP. HEY. HEY. LISTEN. PUT YOUR HANDS YOU'RE NOT LISTENING. >> I'M NOT LISTENING. I'm not listening. >> Hands behind your back. >> I THINK YOU GOT IT WRONG. I THINK YOU GOT IT WRONG. YOU HAVE it all wrong. I think you have it wrong. >> Stop. Stop. >> I THINK YOU HAVE IT ALL WRONG. >> ALL RIGHT. JUST TAKE YOUR >> I THINK YOU HAVE it all wrong. >> You're not You're You're not making any sense. >> I think you have it all wrong. >> You're not making any sense. >> I think you have it wrong. >> You need to stop or we're going to take you to the ground. Put your hands behind your back now. Just walk with me. >> I THINK YOU HAVE IT WRONG. >> OKAY, THEN WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT. WE'LL FIGURE it out. Cooperate. >> I think you have it wrong. >> Put your hands behind your back. Just I just Okay, just relax. Okay, you're not cooperating now. Okay, just That's right. >> Then came the famous line, [music] "I'm not resisting." Literally while she was resisting. That's always an interesting combination. You know, if you really think the police made [music] a mistake, the smart thing to do is cooperate during the arrest and then challenge it later in court. And fighting with the officers usually leads to just more charges. Nobody likes a thief and nobody likes a liar. If you're both, it's hard to expect much sympathy. >> Just don't get yourself all worked up. Just just relax. We'll fix it when we go to the station. We're not going to do that here. No, just Okay, just listen. Okay. We know We know you're emotional Listen, you're emotional right now. Just It's okay. Breathe and it's okay. We'll We'll fix it when we get to the station. Take a breath, okay? It's okay. Just take a breath. We'll get your phone. Okay. >> I don't understand. What are you guys doing this for like What am I going to jail for? I didn't do nothing wrong. I didn't do nothing. I didn't do [ __ ] This [ __ ] is dead wrong. I didn't do [ __ ] Are y'all just going to come up to me and just >> Okay. >> This is wrong as [ __ ] Are y'all just going to do this? >> Okay. Don't don't pull away. Where's your phone? >> It's on. >> Okay. All right, whatever you do, just don't pull away. >> I don't understand. I don't know what y'all doing this for. What What is the warrant for? Like what's going on? >> We'll explain it all to you. >> I was going to get it situated. I just was talking to my baby. That's all. >> Okay. We're honest with >> He followed me. All righty, can you step out? >> All right. >> I'm sorry for all that back there, sir. >> I appreciate that. We didn't have any >> No. >> No. Okay. >> If we could go this way. >> Yeah. >> Some adults act more like toddlers than grownups. That kind of behavior causes problems for everyone. If she was really banned from every Walmart in the country, that's a pretty serious situation. You don't usually end up with a nationwide ban without repeated problems. In the end, she finally apologized for what happened earlier. That was probably the first reasonable thing she said in a long time. The suspect was charged with criminal trespassing, retail theft, and obstructing justice. Legally, the trespassing charge can become especially serious when someone's already been banned from the property and knowingly returns. Her repeated use of her sister's identity could also create additional legal problems because using someone else's information to avoid consequences can be treated [music] as evidence of intentional deception. From a psychological standpoint, her constant yelling and changing explanations may reflect panic, denial, or an attempt to regain control of situation that was quickly slipping away. That does not excuse the behavior, but it may explain why she kept arguing even after the evidence was already against her. But, what do you think? Was she making things worse by arguing with the officers, or do you think she genuinely believed she could talk her way out of this? Drop your opinion in the comment section below.
