to put your on June 4th 2024 officers observed a vehicle with expired registration plates and the driver was not wearing a seat belt they pulled over the vehicle for investigation but the driver did not stop initially finally the officers managed to stop the car and began their investigation disting any speed liit stopping Hickory and East [Music] forth hey stay in the car can I help you stay in the car can I help you no stay in the car can you take your glasses off so I can see your eyes stay in the car I'm sorry why are you because okay what do you want me to do I want you to stay here now you're being arrested for no wait what am I being arrested for fa to stop wait I I'm stopped so what what would I do stop stay right here wait please don't put handcuffs on me because I haven't here I will but please do not put handcuff you are going to be handcuffed St I haven't done anything to endanger anybody so stop are you hearing yourself are you hearing yourself stop resisting what am I but the situation quickly escalated without wasting a second the officer attempted to take her into custody but her arguments turned into resistance and she began screaming she was making a simple situation seem much more complicated what I don't get it I I didn't have my seat and then you're going to mess up my day I have people waiting on me ow that hurts what what here they are they pass you didn't work the woman decided to use her child as an excuse but the officers didn't listen to her and placed her in the police vehicle so they could complete the rest to the procedure peacefully so I tried to stop her on mall and by the days in she refused to stop she just continued driving along refusing to stop gets out of the car she ends up getting arrested but she's got a young child in the name is Sergeant musk so I'm with the Sheriff's Office the reason I was stopping you is for two reasons one is you did have a seat Bel on two is your registration is expired all right when the police turn on their lights and Sirens behind you you're required to stop by law by law yes okay and you failed to do so right you clearly saw me behind you yes I saw you even look over to your left at me yes and completely disobey stopping me and you even told your niece that you just didn't want to stop that the cops can't make you stop well it's true because if you if you think about listen this true this is my line of thinking if you really want to know why first of all I know my registration is out and I also know that a lot of other things why I couldn't stop and that you guys are cops and you're going to obey the law to the te whether or not it violates another person's right so I know even being seated in the police vehicle the woman still objected to her arrest the officers explained everything to her and informed her of what she was completely unaware of she assumed she could drive anywhere with an expired registration without anyone questioning her all that and I was trying to decide what do I do here because you know I'm about to take a trip and I don't know where I'm going to re-register in my car and I just don't know what kind of a person you are and so the truth is that my heart's conviction human being to human being is that just because somebody tells you you have power over my body doesn't mean that you do okay so I have that and then I have life and I have a child and so of course in the moment I'm trying to assess what is the right move here and I didn't pull over I think that you went overboard but I understand why I understand why you do what you need to do this is your job and this is what you committed to doing you know if you would have stopped you would have just gotten a ticket at most I probably could have chatted my way out of it but I did at most you would have got at most would have gotten a ticket for a seat belt and a warning for an expired tag probably at most right but you chose otherwise and and for every action there's a reaction just so you know so today you're going to go to jail tell you to stop I stopped you didn't stop when I actually stopped willingly so how is that you stopped more than a mile away but I still stopped in a very St neighborhood told and you told your niece that you didn't feel like stopping well because I didn't and that is a true statement but I did stop and we can express our feelings without getting punished for it right well you're going to jail today on a felony for a failure to stop okay and you get you feel good about that human to human no I don't but you you're making the choice you made the choice and you are too okay because human to human you understand God's law I uphold the law of the State of Florida and I sworn to uphold the laws of the State of Florida do you believe it's a violation of human rights to give somebody a ticket for not wearing a seat belt so you elect state legislators in the State of Florida right no you don't no because I actually well you live in the state of Florida right I do okay so the state the state legislators are who make the laws I human laws I understand that I understand but there's a kind of come of time where we say we're not going to just let other people tell us what it is to be human and live okay and that we have to keep playing these games that get us locked up in jail the danger unfortunately unfortunately in the State of Florida that will probably not happen right well I think eventually it could I'm just living in Hope and I'll I'll deal with what you're want to dish out to me because you are choosing also you see what kind of a person I am you understand you made your choice I didn't make your choice I did make my choice all right so where's Chris he's he's coming I'll and we're not leaving till he's continuing uh then we ended up down here and I showed up after she was already handcuffed now she's in my car but I'm uh this is all for from what I just overheard a seat Bel and expired tag it's all it was all right well we got her now are you guys showing her car I don't know yet it's not my traffic stop so I'm not 100% sure it was truly commendable how the officer took the child out of the vehicle showed her immense love and handled the situation with great patience despite the mother's foolish behavior however in the woman's eyes all of the was unfair but I I don't know why bought a bunch of food okay you know at Walmart because that's where we we dropped off F okay I'm uh well obviously we'll if we could get the food yeah we'll get the I could take it the car to her house dropped the car off at her house well I'm sure my supervisor will not have a problem with that that would be even better yeah so I'll I'll let him know we have to search it first just to make sure there's nothing crazy inside yeah I'm due to her getting arrested so now what's the plan can we do she have a bail she she'll probably have a bond she might have to go to first appearance first most likely which will be tomorrow like uh they start at 9:00 a.m. and they go in alphabetical order I don't know it's her last name love it's so she'll probably be one of the first depending on how many people get arrested tonight and that we're rested today I'm uh did you get new insurance on your Jeep new insurance on my Jeep yeah on that is that yours yeah okay your license is suspended my license is yeah it's for FR financial responsibilities mainly it's because when you switch insurances over um uh the DMV does not or the the new insurance company doesn't notify the DMV I switch insurance companies I never switched insurance companies you Haven I've had yeah okay have you missed any pays you know what happens uh though I do get a thing in the mail saying which is weird cuz I thought it was from my my Commercial Insurance cuz I have two commercial trucks okay um I thought that's what it was for making payments on that and I'm making payments on that too all right it might be for that but uh um I would just have her drive out of here I'm not going to make a big stink about it STI well we'll cross that road when we get there but uh you break I did yeah that's do have a license either she said that's weird yeah he said it might be his she got commercial CD let me check a CD yeah it might be the CDL it's suspended but CDL do you know anybody that she would want to release that to give it to NAS call NAS yeah call call NAS n have to bring another license driver here and then you can have Paris you want to talk to her see if she wants to release somebody she may want to yeah did he mention that he's going to take my car that's what we're discussing right now okay okay so do you want someone to take a car or would you rather have it to of course I would rather have he could take it to my house or he could take it to his people who arrived at the scene including a man and a woman started gathering information from the officers the officer explained every situation to them but the woman's Behavior did not change that yeah we're discussing that because Chris's license is suspended some reason why I don't he doesn't know either yeah so so it looks like we're both having a an issue with the law and then um I don't know his girlfriend's name she can't drive yeah well she doesn't have a license either so or she can't drive stick or something like that so she can drive stick she could drive my car we're figuring it out we'll we'll have your vehicle released why have you signed forms and stuff like that okay so just hang hang out for a little bit once we figure out who's going to who's going to pick up her car you said her son um so my daughter doesn't know and drive stick my son he drives my Jeep once in a while so he's coming with her and her boyfriend in springing them so NZ will take her her mom's car probably just bring her back to my house I'm going to have her sign the vehicle over to you your wife and you'll just ride in this car with whoever's
