Something in your vehicle. Okay. >> Oh wow. Look at that. >> Man, I ain't done nothing wrong. >> Look what's in the passenger seat right there. >> Are you willing to give me a break? >> Join us as we ride along with the nation's bravest alpha responders. This is Alpha Responder [music] Network. >> [music] [music] >> Welcome back to another episode of the Alpha Responder Network. I'm Ken Shel and I am joined by Lieutenant Karsski of the Le Paz County Sheriff's Office. How you doing, brother? >> Doing awesome, brother. How are you? >> Not bad, dude. So, tell me, man. What are we doing today? Today we're just going to go on patrol and uh see what's going on and make sure all the guys are doing good. I'm the patrol commander on right now. So, just go around and make sure everybody's doing good. Make some stops and talk to some people. I'm glad you guys are back out here in La Plaz County and uh yeah, every time we you guys are out, we usually have a pretty good time. >> Absolutely. Well, I appreciate you letting me ride with you, dude. And uh see what we get into. >> Definitely. You're always welcome in my car, brother. [music] Hi. >> Hi, Lieutenant Cars at the sheriff's office. You're doing 81 miles an hour and a 55. That's criminal in the state of Arizona. >> Nope. Even if it was 60, you're doing way too fast. >> I'm trying to get from I just got off work at Havu Regional Medical and trying to get to my night shift [music] >> in California. I'm so sorry. >> Uh, okay. Wait, let me think. Where is my I >> think your cat was telling you you're going too fast, too. He didn't even have a seatelt on. >> I don't have one of those. And >> I'm just kidding. Do you have a I just need >> Yeah, I have a valid everything. >> All right. >> Oh, there's your sticker. Here, you even have last year's you didn't try to put on either. Look at that. >> See, I don't. >> All right. Okay. Hang tight. I'll be right back. Okay. All right. I'm going to give you a warning. Okay. >> Oh, thank you. Did you put my sticker? >> I put your sticker on for you. Okay. Thank you so much. >> You're welcome. I know you're busy and you didn't make it last year, so I didn't figure you were going to make it this year either. So, so here you go. Say, try to slow down. Okay. >> I will. I will. Thank you so much. >> All right. You and your cat travel safe. Okay. All I love about my job is the dayto-day isn't the same. Um, I get to go out here and interact with the public and meet new people and um, I just enjoy coming to work cuz I don't have to do the same thing every single day. I don't have to sit in an office. Um, I get to come out here and like I said, just interact with people and enjoy life. [music] >> Even as a lieutenant, >> even as a lieutenant, brother. >> Lincoln 2. I'll be code six for that 28 on the I 10 west entrance. Mile plus one. How's it going? >> All right. >> Your registration is showing suspended out of Nevada. >> Are you serious? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Uh, I don't know why. >> Okay. Do you have a driver's license? All right. >> Can you just write my number? Okay. >> You got it. Anything to drink tonight? >> No. >> You sure? >> Yeah. >> Smells like alcohol in there. So, >> have you >> crazy? >> I'm crazy. >> It does not smell like alcohol in here. I don't think >> Okay. You don't drink at all? >> No. >> All right. Come on out for me real quick. Where are you coming from? >> Ble. >> Ble. And you're going back to BL. >> Serious right here. >> You're going what? >> On camera. >> Oh, yeah. He's there for me now. You take your hands out of your pocket. Okay. You got any warrants or anything? License? Good. Okay. King two, if you're close by, can you 45? What's that? >> Uh, I have a a license paper or insurance paper. >> You do? >> I think I think it's in the glove box. >> Okay. Cuz this car >> got pulled over. I pulled it out. >> All right. Yeah, cuz this car can't be on the road at all according to Nevada. So, >> really? >> Yeah. >> 2026. >> It says it's surrendered. So, meaning Nevada took the plate back. >> So, anything in your car you shouldn't have? Can I search your car? No. >> No. Okay. I have a K9 in route. Okay. Is the K9 going to alert you anything? >> No. >> Are you sure? >> Yes, I'm positive. >> Okay. Then why is there a reason why you don't want me searching it then? >> Cuz I had that right. >> What's that? Well, I understand that. That's I'm just asking. Okay. Usually people tell me no, cuz they have something in there. So, >> it's not dead. >> Okay. All right. Hang tight right here for me. Okay. >> I'm thinking she's got something in her car she shouldn't have. K9's in route. So, can't verify any information on this vehicle, though. So, it's showing suspended out of Nevada, and she's saying it's her boyfriend's car, but it's registered to a female out of Nevada. All right, I'm going have you come over here. Okay. Just stand right there for me. Okay. Upward is beautiful. Google. >> All right. So, he says his dog alerted to the presence. Okay. Have something in your vehicle. Okay. So, I'm just going to have you get off your phone for now. Okay. You are detained. I can put you in handcuffs. Just don't try to go anywhere. Okay. >> He went to the front of the car. >> Well, I'm not the K9 handler. Okay. Let him talk to you while I search your car. Okay. >> What's that? There's a meth pipe right. I think it's 105er right now though. Uh got a little bit of meth residue and then used meth pipe. Um, just keep finding more and more little bits of paraphernalia all through her purse here. I got a scale and then some prescription pills that aren't um issued to her. I mean, there's just all that paraphernalia. There's like little baggies with all little meth residue. And then that was the first thing I saw. And here's some more burnt tin foil residue. So far really just a bunch of paraffin. Yeah, >> just a little bit, dude. >> She's got a little bit. Oh, yeah. >> Tiny bit. >> Yeah, just keep it meth pipe. All meth kit right here. >> Colored pencils and meth. go hand in hand. >> That and rocks. >> Oh, she's got rocks, too. Over there. Here's another meth pipe. Some more. Oh, there's a whole load of meth right there. Her scale works, too. I like it when they make it convenient. [laughter] Seven grams. 7.2 >> 7.2 gram. >> Good find. Good stop, Kent. >> All right, give me an update. >> So, in this white purse here, we kind of found panel all through the car. We got scales. We got pipes everywhere. This other purse, we found what appears to be methamphetamine, and it weighs out on her scale about 7.2 g. So, a lot of these guys carry scales because they don't want to get ripped off. So, now we're just waiting for a tow truck here. Um, we found the approximately 7.2 gram of meth, I believe it was, on her scale. So, when we get back to the station, we'll uh reweigh it. Um, they'll tow her car. She's going to be booked into the jail. So, for tonight, it's a good find and uh good job with our K9 units. Pencil. >> I can't take color pencils to the jail. I don't know why colored pencils are a necessity to go to jail with you, but uh my name is Deputy Montimer. I work for Le County Sheriff's Office. I'm the I'm actually a newly K9 with La Pas County Sheriff's Office. So, I've been with the Le County Sheriff's Office for approximately three going on three years now. Um but I've been certified peace officer for approximately four years now. So, I think the hardest part about wearing the badge is kind of creating that fine line of having a heart and wearing the badge at the same time. I mean, obviously, we have to do our job in law enforcement, but there are times where people are going through a hard time or they're just really going through a lot. We still at the end of the day, we got to do our job, you know. So, that's kind of, you know, just drawing that fine line between the badge and having a heart, you know, it's kind of hard when you got to play both sides at the end of the day. Well, but it's something that has to get done. >> Arizona temp tag. If the oceans don't work, try zero. >> Come on. Uh, I should just lit them up. >> Negative and suspended 1998 Dodge Dakota. >> King, I copy. I'll be code six of that vehicle. 104. >> Kings, I'll be at the flea market on Qin. Cross street is central. It's going to be queuing over at the flea market. Hey, what's going on, man? >> So, my name is Fat. I work for the POS Sheriff's Office. So, the reason why I'm stopping you is because you actually have suspended registration. Is there a reason why you're driving your vehicle when it's suspended? >> I'm parked here. >> What's that? >> I'm parked here. >> I can't hear you. >> I'm parked here. >> You weren't parked? I seen you just driving two seconds ago on the roadway, bro. Do you have your license, registration, insurance, man? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. Sitting here waiting on a person. >> Okay. Where's your license, registration, insurance, man? >> I don't have it. Where's it at? >> It's back at my campsite. >> What's that? >> It's back at my campsite, but I'm not driving. >> Where's your campsite? Okay. Where's your campsite located? It doesn't matter if you're I just seen you driving on the roadway. So, you're driving with a suspended driver's license, correct? >> Yeah. >> Oh, wow. Look at that. Go ahead and step out of the car for me, man. >> Look at what? >> Step out of the car. >> Hey guys, Kent here with Alpha Responder Network. Look what's in the passenger seat right there. >> Driving. >> You were just driving on the roadway. I just watched you. Step out of the vehicle, man. >> Man, I'm I'm not driving. I'm sitting here. >> Okay. Go ahead and send a car. Stay right here, bro. >> I'm not driving. >> You were just driving. Were you not? >> No, I wasn't. >> I've been sitting here. >> Okay. Get your hands out of your pockets for me. What's your first name? Okay. What's your last name? What? Why are you guys costing me, man? I ain't doing nothing wrong. >> Okay. >> I'm just trying to get home. >> Can you lean against the car? You're not trying to get home. You're sitting driving here on the roadway. You obviously have an open container inside your vehicle, and you're probably intoxicated. Okay. >> I guarantee I am, but I'm not driving. >> You were just driving. I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. >> King 2 Sam 485 my direction. >> Subjects possible 1381. >> It has cancer. >> Okay. What's your first name? Well, you should have thought of that before you jumped in the vehicle. What's your last name? What's your last name? What is your last name? >> I have the right to remain silent. >> Are we going to go that route? >> We are. >> Okay. >> You guys can't give me a break. I'm trying. >> What's your last name? >> My wife has cancer. >> Okay. What's your last name? Are you willing to perform the standard field sobriety test today, sir? >> Are you willing to give me a break? >> Are you willing to perform the standard field sobriety test today, sir? >> I served in the army >> and I understand that, but you're out here driving. You have an open container. I seen you try to get away from me down there and then you parked right here. >> I wasn't trying to get away from nobody. Trying to get home. >> Are you willing to perform the standard field sobriety test today, sir? Okay, go ahead and turn face away from me. You're under arrest right now. Okay. >> So, right now you're under arrest for suspicion of DUI in that open container. Okay. I've asked you three different times. Try to talk to you about it. >> All right. I'll do it. >> No, we're past that. We're past that now, man. We are way past an [ __ ] >> No, we No, we're way past that. I already asked you three different times, man. Not going to sit here and play games all night. Kink too. That subject's going to be 10:15. Go ahead and come back to my car over here. Go ahead. Step in my car here, sir. >> Give me a second. All right. >> Yeah, sir. >> Thank you. >> I was out with this dude earlier. >> So, check it out, dude. So, he's driving down. I seen him try to get away from me. He's driving. He's going eastbound uh right there on Main Street. He k he he hits the corner right there. Turns. Doesn't hit the corner, but you know what I mean. Starts driving this way. So, then I'm coming right here. He says he's going home, which she's staying over there. Then he comes this way. I'm trying to run his registration. I can see the obstructed the obstructed plate right there. >> Right. >> He dips in right here. I hadn't lit him up yet. And then I got his return right here that it was suspended as I was passing. So I flipped around and lit him up right here. And he's like, "I wasn't driving. I was sitting here." I was like, "Dude, I was just behind you, man. Like >> I just observed you driving. Like don't sit here and play the game." Well, look what I could see, bro. As I was talking to him. >> So I mean playing his day, man. You know. Oh yeah. So, I'm just going to take pictures of it. I'm going hook him. If he refuses down there, then I'm just going to have to do a e warrant and then do serve it like that. Man, >> there's another one down here. >> Yeah, I'm going take a picture right now. >> 27 shows ID only. His inhouse is showing a citation from October 27th >> at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand that? >> I do. >> Okay. >> So, why did you pull me over? >> Do you understand your rights? >> I do. >> Okay. >> Pull me over. >> So, check it out. You're driving. Okay. Where where were you heading? >> To Laosa North. >> Okay. So, why are you here? >> Why am I here? >> Yeah. You're driving to Laosa North. Why did Why are you here? >> Because there's a portaotty over there and I had to take a leak. >> That's not what you told me when I first pulled up. >> Well, that's that was my >> Okay. So, you were So, back when I saw you on Main Street, right? And you you took the corner and you were driving and you see the intersection. The post of North is like what maybe a mile up the road. Why would you turn Okay, less than that. Perfect. Less than that. So why would you pull right here driving this way to go over to the porta potty to go to the restroom when you could go over to Laosa North? >> Because it's a lot longer. I had to pee now. >> Okay. >> So I got a pee. >> Okay. So you admit that you were driving though. >> No. >> Well, you just said that you were driving. >> No. >> You I literally just asked you. >> Okay. >> And then you have the beer then. Huh? >> What? What? I >> I didn't hear what you said. You had the beer inside next to you on the passenger. See, now we're playing these games, man. I'm not going to play those games with you. All right, we're going to take care of what we got to take care of and we'll go from there. Right. The guy was placed under arrest for the opening container pending the results of the breath test or blood at this point. [music] Um so from right now, subjects in the back of my vehicle. He'll be transported down to the Plaza County Jail. Um we'll go through the process of the admir um there's a dual breath test advisory form. So, there's some forms he has to sign um and that he has to have acknowledgement of. And then after that point, he'll complete the booking process down at the gym. [music]
