In March 2024, police were dispatched to a Walmart in Round Rock, Texas, following reports of a theft in progress. Using their sophisticated surveillance system, asset protection agents observed a male and female suspect exit the store without paying for merchandise. Upon arrival, officers located both suspects, a 37-year-old female named Lisa and a 39-year-old male named Mingo, attempting to exit the store without making payment. It is noteworthy that Lisa and Mingo have a significant history with law enforcement, having previously been arrested on charges that include criminal trespass, assault, driving while intoxicated, theft, possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication, forgery, and mail theft. >> The uh the male has a cap with a stealing price tag attached to it, and they have a bunch of pills they grab. >> I guess I'll already ask you, you want to press charges? >> Yeah. Okay. Just want to make sure. What register are they on? >> Register 35. 35 like right on this side. Uh they're almost >> to see what side they want to go on. >> And you said uh the stuff that's in the laundry basket hasn't been scanned. >> Uh the stuff in the laundry basket, has it been scanned already or not yet? Obviously, we can wait here, but it has to be a reasonable amount of time for us. All right? Obviously, it's a we can say it's a death in progress, but it hasn't been completed quite yet. Obviously, there's circumstantial evidence that they're probably going to commit the act. >> We're also not going to stay all night and wait for them to try to scan. So, what we can do is go in there and make contact with them. Um, if y'all want to deny any type of business obviously at this point, we can do that. Um, and then remove them from the premise, that's up to you. What do you want to do, Carl? Cuz they can only be here for a certain amount of time. >> They still have the unpaid merchandise that she put the tights on. And I don't know if the hat is or not. Not too sure. But the guy on the basket. >> Okay. I guess there's move this way. You got anything covering? Anything like that? >> No. Can I can I pat you down my tree? Got gun weapons. Sure. Back. Okay. Did you give me a good name and date of birth? >> Okay. We're going to find out, but My mom's paying for the money with my credit card on my phone. >> We're going to take this off right now. >> We're going to take purses off. >> I paid for all my stuff. $540 worth of stuff. >> Can I just call her number? >> I haven't I was on the phone with her and it wouldn't go through and I had >> Can she just tell you she was paying for it? That's not how that works, though. Going to pay for it doesn't mean that you can leave the store. >> I was paying for it. It just wouldn't work on the damn thing. >> Okay. >> I can pay for it now. >> Did you conceal anything in your purses or bags? >> Just be straight up cuz we've got a lot of security. >> I already had the >> What's that? >> Everything I already had. >> I already I already told you that stuff in there was mine when I came in. I paid $540 for that stuff. Not to mention $200 for the >> damn thing. >> Can you please help? >> All right. So, they watched you conceal items in your bag. So, I'm going to retrieve those items. You don't have to give me permission. >> I paid for those. I I >> at this point I'm Can I tell you please stop asking? >> I'm not getting up. >> No, I know. Listen, I had the tickets and I scanned it and my mom I didn't have Wi-Fi over here on my phone and I was on the phone with my mother. It was I was paying five $600. I have the money to pay it merchandise, too. >> No, that's your opinion. That's your opinion. But I have lots of mental illness problems. So, >> hey, your name's Lisa. That's my mother, Melanie Cappy. >> Okay. How come you have her check? >> Because she gave it to me. I do her banking for her. I take care of her. >> Okay. >> You're from out of town and I'm trying to pay for all the items. >> Where you from? >> So we can leave Temple, Texas. >> Temple. No, I talked to that Brandon over there and it's not paid for. >> He did not. >> So, he was going to let us take the tire and bring him back. >> Yes, he did. >> And he's going to let us know what we did. >> I know, but he told you guys it didn't go through. >> No, he did not. He said we could handle the ma'am. >> No, ma'am. No, ma'am. >> I mean, I'm I'm not You're a liar. I'm not I'm not arguing with you. And I know that that came out of my baking pot already. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I can show you. >> Hey, look at me. >> I got tattoos now. >> Turn your head that way. How long you had those tattoos on your face? >> Several years now. Couple years now. >> How How long? A >> couple years. >> Two years. >> Okay. Give us your real name and your full name. Give me your full real name. >> His name is Adamia. >> Adam, what's your middle name? >> I have no name. >> I don't have names. >> Do you have like two last names? How do you spell that? >> Adam Ardondo. A R R E D O N G O. >> Okay. And will that be before or after Mia? Is that going to be moonia spaceondo? Ardondo. >> Yeah. Okay. Is it arando or arro? >> Ardondo. >> Spell a r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r e d o e o n g o. >> You don't know how to spell your last name. Why does it keep changing? >> Last name. >> A r e a r r o n g o. Can you talk to my mom? N >> we're not talking to anyone right now. Okay. Well, she'll tell you that she's trying to pay for the merchandise and I was trying to pay for the merchandise. I have all of it and I wasn't going to take. >> So, understand. So, let me let me reply. Let me talk to you real quick. Let me talk to you real quick cuz they're talking Listen. So, to reply to that kind of negate some of those some of those comments you're making as far as your your mom or you trying to pay for it. Understand that he left this entire court. Hold on. >> I told him to >> without him. >> And a reasonable understand this. Listen. a fair and prudent and reasonable person who believe that they are not allowed to leave with merchandise outside of a store. Hold on. Let's just let me finish the sentence. And next to the store with merchandise that that has not been substantiated or paid for, right? That's just not common practice for society. And we know that >> I want to know. I'm sorry. >> Okay. But you have the mental capacity to understand Hold on. You have the mental capacity to understand how retail works and how society works in society norms. Okay? So, let let me explain something to you. Okay? When somebody tells us they had an ID out of the state of Texas or driver's license or something like that, we would get a return. There's no circumstance where we're not going to get a return unless they're lying about their information. >> Okay. You've said multiple times you had an ID in the state of Texas. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Why are we not getting a return from the information you provided us? >> ID expired now. >> Doesn't matter if it's expiring. I can look up IDs from 1950. It doesn't matter. Then it's expired. >> Yeah, it's expired. >> So it doesn't matter. So what is your name on your ID? >> Adamo or no? Adam my social security. I had at one time. >> I mean that's kind of where we're at right now. >> But I have the money to pay for everything. It's small. >> I don't think so. >> I don't see it. Investigate all this. >> It was paid for it. >> Remember that one kind of warranty on the tire at all on the tire? Tire. >> You gave it to me for pro rated $80. >> So, there is no proation on everything from right now, but there's nothing on that tire. We had no insurance on that tire. It was not even >> I always bought my tires from Walmart. >> Yes. Yes, ma'am. I saw some tires in there, but the tire that you brought in, not that tire. >> Then why didn't you tell me that? Then why wouldn't you tell me that? >> That tire was not paid for. Everything was paid for that. He set me up. >> If it's not paid for the store, >> no [ __ ] No, he >> Listen, we're not going to go back and forth. What was the receipt that you gave her? So, there was no receipt. >> Oh, there was no receipt. You never handed her anything? Where's the receipt? So, he's going to set me up higher. He told me I could come back in the morning with my other one. Sir, did you not tell me I could come back with the other one in the morning and we settle? >> Fix it for you. >> Did you see Did you hear them say that? >> Did you hear them? >> Put your Put your back to that wall for me. >> Did you hear him say that? >> He said I could bring the other one back in the morning. They would fix it. >> Why would you walk out when it's not paid for yet? >> She want to go ahead and go to your car, >> huh? Go ahead and go. >> Okay. And I was like, "Okay." You know, >> obviously though, you've shoed before in retail. You understand that you're supposed to pay for something before passing all the points of sale or the exit door, right? So, you understand that. >> That's what I'm saying. Like, I always follow her like and she always pays for everything. Her mom, grandma always pays for everything, man. >> Don't tell, you know, you can see she has long, you know, money and credit cards, you know, but I mean, I'm just there with her and, you know, I love her. I I was like really young, but you know, as far as like >> So, right now, the only intentions that you had as far as stealing was what was ever in your pockets? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. What was in your pockets? >> And I I had the belt on as well, but I put that belt on it. >> So, you're saying that was an accident? >> Yeah, we we was supposed to pay for it. >> Okay. >> But I had forgot that I had it on, man, cuz we've been here so long, you know. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Sounds good. >> Think we have nothing. >> Let him know they're in custody. Get all the bags searched. Um, I can pay that thing out. >> No, we're past that point. >> Yeah. So, I'm just going to let you know you're under arrest for that. Okay. And that goes the same for you. You are under arrest for that. >> That Adam subject, can you check out of Bell County supposed he was arrested for DWI a couple years back? He's got some 43 out of there just to confirm his ID. >> I'm offering to pay. >> I'm offering to pay. This is >> Okay, it'll go with you, but we're just going to take this off. Okay. >> It'll go with you. What? >> I stop listen to me. >> I don't Walmart like that, dude. >> Theft theft is a crime that involves a victim. The victim in this case wants to pursue charges. So, it's we're past that point. >> Can I talk to people at Walmart? >> They're right here. They want to pursue charges. >> I don't want to have to hold you up. >> Can you sit down? my stuff. >> That's my prescription. >> Where's your prescription bottle? >> I don't have the bottle. >> You're also in custody possession of control substance cuz this is obviously Xanax and a lot of >> That's my prescription. >> That's my prescription. >> Okay. Well, so so just so you know, if you're prescribed something, you're required to carry it in the prescribed pill. Okay. With your the prescription on it, your name on it, and everything. When you're carrying it like that, that's illegal. Everybody here, man. >> Y'all have 100% ID on that yet? >> Like 100%. >> Yeah, she found him by social. >> Okay, cuz they also they also have him out of Bell County. He was just arrested. >> He did not steal nothing, man. He did not steal anything at all. >> Just hang on for a sec. Okay. I won't tomorrow, man. >> I have >> That's not fair that they set me up with aing tire and I have my money to pay for my goddamn stuff. That's not right. You're not letting me pay for it. >> So, y'all are making me so I didn't walk out with anything. And he he thought there was a receipt. >> Hey. Hey, Lisa. I need you to be honest with me right now. Okay, >> Lisa, we're not playing this feel bad game. Okay. Is there anything in there that's going to harm my partner? We just found a pipe in there. Lisa needles. >> Lisa, look at me. I'm not talking about needles. I'm talking about anything like I don't want my partner getting a whiff of >> No. Do you have in your bag? >> No. >> So, you just have the fight. >> When's the last time you smoke? >> Two days. >> Two days ago. >> I don't believe you. >> I'm trying to sober up. Lisa, so I I know that people that battle from addiction are not able to go two days without using. Okay. >> Yes, they are able to >> and not y'all would have very very bad >> withdrawals. Drank. Yeah. Alcohol instead. >> Lisa, do you have anything on you or inside of you? >> I pay for what I need to pay for. >> Okay. I'm giving you this opportunity to be honest with me because if you're not, when you go up to the jail, we're going to request them to do a a TDCJ scan. >> You can show him resin. >> Resin. >> No, >> you can look at it. Show him. >> I'll test it. It'samine, but okay. >> Resin out of a bomb. >> Okay. >> Come on, man. >> Lisa, you're also in custody. Possession control substance. Times two and Xanax. >> No, I have the money to pay. Can I at least pay for my stuff so I don't have a death charge? Can I please still pay for my stuff so I don't have a theft charge? We don't have a theft charge. Please. >> No, we're we're past that. >> Why do you want to do that? My operating for the item. >> Well, it's not my decision. The store said >> the store said they want to pursue charges, so they're going to charit though. That's making me steal it. >> How is that possible? >> So, whenever you walk past all registers, if there's 30 registers, the store looks at it. >> I had already been the register. >> Are you done with that? The store looks at it as you have 30 chances to pay for it. >> Is there anything that you need to get from here before we take them off? >> Is there anything you need to get from here before we take them out? >> I tried to pay. There's many times that I ran the transaction. >> How can you How come you can't look at the transaction? How come you can't look at the transaction? You see, I was trying to pay for it. >> Lisa, stop. I'm We're I'm done. Okay. >> Lisa, be strong, man. All right. >> Be strong with me. All right. >> The jail the jail is not going to take these. Okay. And we're not going to hold them for safekeeping cuz they have batteries. So, they're going to go in the trash. >> Same thing with your open perishable items, food, and drinks. Same thing. Okay. >> So, you understand that you're under arrest? >> Hey, stop. Do you understand that you're under arrest? >> I know that I'm mentally ill and I want to go to the mental hospital. >> You're not going to the mental hospital. >> You You can't tell me what I'm going to do. I'm sick. >> Are you okay? >> No, I'm not okay. I just lost my kids, man. >> Stop. >> I'll never again. [Applause] You wouldn't even talk to my mom. >> Lisa, stop. Lisa, >> stop. >> This is not right. I can't pay for this stuff. Man, you got a lot of love for him. >> Yeah. I wasn't just stealing this stuff. I have all the tags. I scanned all of it on the the screen. >> Okay. You need your pants pulled up or >> hang strong. You all right? Hey, have a seat. >> Have a seat in there so I can help her. Let me have a seat in this. >> Hey, stop, dude. Just get in the car. >> Get in there. Get in there. >> Hang tight. [Music] I got it, bro. I got it. Lisa. Lisa, I need you to I need to buckle you in. Okay. Lisa, do you need Do you want the air on or no? >> Lisa, do you want the air on? Yes or no? >> Music. Got a gun 13 cover three.
