Good for you. That's a great goal. On September 6th, 2024, officers responded to a reported shoplifting incident at a retail store following a call from a concerned individual. The report provided information that a shoplifting act had occurred, prompting a quick response from law enforcement. 700. That'd be impressive. She goes to selfch checkout. She scans some stuff, hits pay, and then she scans the or miss scans the expensive stuff. When you hit pay and try to scan, it says, "Oops, it wasn't on scan." She just keeps scanning, hitting okay, scanning. Okay. The six times happened. Same person. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Same time. Or six. She like mom's on the phone. She's not [Music] video. Hello. Hello. Hi. How are you? Wait, can I just see the video? Sorry. Can I see the video footage? Yeah, sure. Um, so she comes in, she scans stuff, she scans the food, she scans all the stuff here. That's what parents need. So, it's food, cosmetic stuff, the command hook, and then she hits the pay button and then starts to scan all of the clothing. and hits the button that says item not scanned and then she just kept on doing it. So she's right now at the pay screen and it's not it's not scanned. It's not paid for. So it's for all the pants and the other stuff. This box as well was not it's not skip scanned and she also had a lock in there that was on the seat. Upon arriving at the location, the officers entered the store and made contact with the store employees. The employees were instrumental in providing crucial details that helped guide the investigation forward. Their cooperation with the officers was essential in the early stages of the investigation as they detailed the sequence of events and the items involved in the theft. That was a total I did say that anything that wasn't scanned through I couldn't scan through again cuz I was checking to see the payment and I was putting it through them. Okay. Uh please stand up. Y what happened? I was scanning things. Apparently they didn't go through and they said to pay for them again, but they didn't. They told me no. I guess you try to leave the store. No. Yes. The cops are here now. So, it actually can just explain again how it works. So, when you come in understand there's no other like payment FYI. This is her just coming in the first time. They're saying everything was scanned. That's it. She go check the balance. So is she like ready to pay and then she starts scanning stuff again, right? And it doesn't it doesn't go through. There's notification that says I do not scan. So you got to go check and if they had to pay for it, I didn't check. I didn't even know those items that she didn't pay. Yeah. These are the items. I don't understand. Everything else is paid for. Correct. Yes. I really don't understand. They're saying it happened like multiple times and I don't understand what's I mean they're saying every time I've been there and I'm like really confused. I have no idea. I don't understand what the problem is. Um actually I do. So I have it I have it here if you want to see it. So this was August 4th the last time she was here. I didn't even talk to happening. It was like when they initially approached her and presented the evidence. The female appeared confused. She denied the allegations, asserting that she had not stolen anything. She claimed to have paid for every item she had purchased and maintained that there had been some misunderstanding. Despite this, the officers noted that she was being evasive and consistently provided conflicting stories about the situation. All right, stand up for me. Please stand up for me, please. Turn around. The conflicting statements and unwillingness to cooperate led the officers to believe that the female was indeed involved in the shoplifting incident despite her denials. As the investigation progressed, the officers were confident that the surveillance footage provided irrefutable evidence of the female's involvement. Based on this evidence, they made the decision to place the female under arrest for shoplifting. He'll do everything. [Music] All right. We're You're going to come with me to my car. Okay. That vehicle hit the parking lot. 408 county. I'll be transporting one female 41 from this location to headquarters. Starting mileage 133 065 starting 1335. So, I crank the air, but I don't know how well it works. So, I'm going to hit the window, too. Okay, you got it. Okay, listen. We're going to we're going to figure it all out, okay? Right now, we just have to go through the the steps for our policy, okay? But we're going to figure it all out. Like I said, just keep focusing on your breathing. During the transport, the female continued to express distress and attempted to plead her case, but the officers maintained their focus on the task at hand. Upon arrival at the police station, the officers began completing the necessary documentation for the arrest. This included taking detailed notes, recording the evidence gathered, and preparing the paperwork for the charges to be filed. It's about 5 minutes if that. Okay. Depending on if we hit a light. I'm going to get you there as fast as we can. Okay. I don't know. But we'll you'll be able to call her once we get there. Okay. What's that? You're getting dizzy. All right. Deep breaths. Okay. I got you for this stupid I said I paid for it and I'm just really confused. So here here's the good news for right now that I can give you. Okay. The amount was so little that even if I No, I know. The fact that it's under $200 makes a very big difference for our part of it. Okay. All right. Like I said, they're going to figure it all out inside. Okay. I have multiple trips and I don't remember it happening and there's been people there that have seen me scared. I don't understand because that happens and I don't doubt that I'm scared. I don't understand. No, I understand. That's definitely something to have a concern about for sure. My major is criminal justice and I don't want to be able where do you go to school and I don't want to lose my career something. No, that that won't happen. Okay. That won't happen. All right. I'm just really scared it's going to ruin my career because I know that there's over something so stupid that I see the word. It won't it won't ruin your career. That's another reason that you know when stuff like this happens, that's why you have a court date, too, because you can come to that agreement, okay? And then now, obviously, I'm not guaranteeing anything cuz I'm not on that end of it. But you could you could work out some kind of agreement maybe with the court where you pay for it and they drop it. You know, this this isn't the be all end all, okay? There are ways to to go about it. There are ways to fix it. No, I understand. I got you. Just keep keep taking those slow deep breaths. Okay. In through your nose, out through your mouth. We're almost there. Okay, we got to go one more traffic light after this. When did start? Later, the female was presented in court where she faced charges of retail theft. During the proceedings, the evidence, including the surveillance footage and witness statements, was presented by the prosecution. The firmale pleaded guilty and she was granted a conditional dismissal after 12 months.
