I'm Frank. >> Oh, Frank. >> Oh my god. >> Don't die. You haven't had no alcohol tonight. >> Based off of that test right there, you are not being honest with me. >> Join us as we ride along with the nation's bravest alpha responders. This is Alpha Responder Network. [Applause] [Music] [Music] Roll in there. You got your belt on? >> Belt on. You have a little extender that makes it easier. >> Oh, hell yeah, dude. >> I did the same thing with me because it I couldn't get in. My holster kept pinching it off. Now it's in here. It's a little bit easier as a guide. >> You ready for this? >> Ready. >> Just make sure it's not indecent. >> All right, guys. Welcome back to another ARN episode. I am here with my boy Frank Slope. Deputy Frank Slope. We are out here patrolling uh where Apache Junction. >> Apache Junction. So, Panel County Sheriff's Office along with Apache Junction PD, HSI, bunch of different agencies, both state and local, um, federal, are all together really just looking for crime. Um, warrants, drugs, um, DUI, traffic infractions, u, there's a good reason to stop someone, we're going to stop them and talk to them. We really just want the citizens here in Apache Junction, which obviously is part of Panal County, um, to know that we're out here and and that their tax dollars are at work. It's gonna be fun, man. It's a It's fun out here. There's I mean there's a cop on every corner right now. They're absolutely everywhere. But um there's one right there. Everything that that Panal County has to offer from the sheriff's office is here. The sheriff is out here. Um so it's just just a fun night of of getting together and and trying to fight some crime. >> Well, I'm excited, dude. Thanks for having me. And uh let's see what we can get. >> It's like it's like we're reunited. [Music] C23 29 negative room 2006 Nissan sensor information. [Applause] >> What's going on, man? >> Doing good. >> What's up? >> What's up? >> How you doing? >> Doing good. >> Good. >> Uh yeah, he was driving like 52 54 and a 40. Giant cracked windshield. Didn't realize how fast he was going. >> Oh my. That's a Your windshield looks like the road map to a busy city. >> Waiting for payday to get that one fixed. And it's not payday obviously. >> Ain't payday. >> All right. So, I just want to take a quick look at you. What I want to do is just pretty much just simply evaluate your spine. So, uh, you want any contacts? >> No. >> Okay. Have any issues with your eyes? Any massive head injuries recently? Anything like that? Okay. So, I'm going to do is I'm going to take my little ET finger here and I'm going to move this back and forth across your face. What I want you is I want you to watch it with your eyes only. Don't move your head at all. Okay? Can you see that right there? >> All right. [Music] Now, right now, we're going to sit here. We're going to hold this out there. Right there. Just keep watching it there and like that. Now like this. >> Okay. Can you normally cross your eyes? >> Okay. Well, you can't today. So, sometimes things like that happen. >> I mean, >> what is crossing eyes though? Like, what are you saying? Like full on though or Oh, no. >> No. I could like kind of but not like full on. I thought you meant like like a little variety of full on crossey. No, I cannot do that. >> Okay. When was the last time you smoked any marijuana? >> Last night. >> Last night. What do you smoke? >> Just regular marijuana >> with like a indica sativa. >> Uh >> THC vape >> like sativa. >> Sativa. >> You smoke sativa before bed? >> Yeah. Because I helps me de-stress. I get a little bit anxious at times. >> Sure. >> Uh but >> you should try indicica. It'll settle you down more. Sativ is more of kind of a gives you a little bit of energy. Not not what you should be smoking before bed. Get your get your weed information from cops. We know the most. I want you to tell me how long it takes for 30 seconds to pass. >> So, can you repeat just again? >> Absolutely. So, you're just the way you're standing. Once 30 seconds goes by, I want you to bring your head forward, open up your eyes, and say stop. So, I'll tell you when to start. You will tell me when to stop. >> Does that make sense? >> So, when I stop, you'll start. I'm kind of getting really close. Just kind of move like that. Sorry. >> Okay. Just open up your eyes and say stop. >> Super easy. >> Okay. Yeah. >> And begin. >> Stop. >> Okay. And how long was that? >> 30. >> About 30. Okay. How'd you get there? >> Normal count. One. Two. >> Okay. Just slow count. >> Okay. What I want you to do is just use that as a guide and just walk next to it. I want you to stand exactly the way I am. Left, right, up. >> There we go. You got it. You figured it out. [Music] >> There's that. >> All right, take one step over there. All right, come on back. Put your seatelt on. >> Don't worry. >> Deal with it every day. >> Oh, don't worry. I've seen you. >> You do? Me? >> Yeah, I've watched you. I've >> You've watched me? >> Yeah. There's no way you don't live in There's no way you don't live in Arizona. >> Okay. I got one more for you. Okay. >> You're going to look down. You're going to go like this. 1 10002 1003 until I tell you to stop. 1 2000 23 2011 2014 2013 2014 2015 15 16 >> It looks like you've smoked more recently than last night. >> All right. >> Cuz it looks like it's active in your body. >> Okay. So, do you want to re-evaluate the Hey, I last smoked last night to like today sometime >> because it it looks it looks more active than you're saying that it is. So, this what I'm going to do. Put your hands on your back right now. You under arrest for DUI and all right, that one might be a little tight. I'm going to loosen that one up there for you. And I'm going to double lock these. I'm going to put you in the back of my car. Well, we're going to make sure we keep your phone on you. All right. Uh, did a bird poop on you? >> No. Water. It just like rained out. >> Oh, no. You did get pooped on, dude. >> Oh, it was bird poop. >> You did get pooped on. I >> think they say that's good luck. I'll scrape some of that off there for you. They say it's good luck. >> Where do you live? >> Honestly, >> I love honesty. >> Cuz we've had different degrees of honesty so far. So, all right. If she is really looking at center console, >> that's where uh I smoke this morning because like I said, I >> smoke on your way to work. >> After. >> After work. >> Oh, yeah. >> Well, you're still wearing your >> Sure. >> What time did you get off work? >> Did I go? >> Okay. When I go? >> Hey, your car smells like beef because you have >> Well, yeah. I was just >> We just We just got there. We just got to the Hey, I So, what time did you get off work? What was your shift? Okay. So, you signed off at 6:07 and it's 6:51 now. So, you're nowhere close to I smoked last I just got to whiff the weed out of there. It's in there. >> Okay. So, you smoked you smoked after work on your way home. >> Okay, that makes sense. That makes that is that's consistent with what I observed. Remember you were like, "Hey, I smoked last night." And I said to myself, "Self, I don't think he smoked last night. I think he smoked today. Let me clean out some room. Can you hang out with him?" Yeah. Oh, >> hang tight. Don't go anywhere. That's coffee. So, someone awesome sent me coffee called Frank Fuel. I got a backpack for a sniper rifle. Get that in there. Take some spare uniforms in here. We go. Let's go. Here. There we go. Now I have room for that guy. >> All right, Mr. Yes, sir. >> I'm going to squeeze you in here. It's going to be a tight fit, but >> have a seat in there. >> There we go. It's as comfortable as you can be. You're the first person I've ever had in here. >> So, >> and you know what they say. You always remember your first. Can you feel any air back there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. I can smell it when you open up the door. I can smell it over there. >> Oh, yeah. He has a whole workshop going on. >> Oh, good gracious, Kent. Oh, wow. >> There we go. Kent >> evidence. >> I Yeah, I mean it's >> I don't have problem. >> Look at all this. >> I was There's probably more in there. I saw I stopped. >> He's not suspended, so it's not aggravated. I had that feeling. >> Oh. Oh, it's a good thing. It's a good thing. I'm going to throw up. >> Please don't do that. You're going to get on my shoes. Nice deep breath. Okay. I'm like a normal person. >> I know you are. Nice deep breath. You are a celebrity though. >> That might be a little bit of maybe here in Apache Junction. >> Okay. >> Okay. You okay? >> Oh, yes. License and for speeding. I've been want to get a hold of you. Well, they live next door to me cuz she stole from me. Um cuz she was I know it's them for a fact. He gets out there rear his engine loud. I my dog is dead because of them and they killed the horse up here that I had trained. They're hacked in my phone. They're >> Hi, partner. >> They hack in my phone. They're hacked in my phone. They even send the sounds over there to me to scare me on my door and I stood right there and they ran off the I made so many calls to the cops. Officer Romero, I think it's his name. >> Romero. Okay. >> Yeah. Okay. Thank you. New cop >> for for Apache Junction. >> We got great new cops. Okay. >> You have a you have a great chief of police. You've got great commanders. You've got great officers. You've got great sergeants. Pachy Junction does. They do a great job. >> Also, Trip, he knows me well. I got to give him a hug. I don't think we're supposed to do that, but he he >> It's okay. Sometimes Sometimes we hug. Not now, but sometimes they're all in on this. Okay. Joe Feder Rico is the landlord. Okay. And he's the one that cuz Gary is his name. I'm telling you, I got no FBI. >> I don't think the FBI is dealing with Apache Junction much. >> They're hacking in the phones and and I and I could prove everything that they done that they're doing. This is an Obama phone. Trust please. >> That's an Obama phone. >> Yes. I got an organ. A Lowry's organ. Nice. It >> like a like a organ. Hey, I'm gonna uh I'm just going to run her quick. >> Yeah, sounds good. >> She's also as interested. >> You can run, but I don't feel like running. >> Okay. All right. >> I >> I don't even have words for the mixture of how excited she was when she first saw me and whatever that rambling I mean I'm glad she was happy to see me. Like that's super cool. But ah what did I tell you when we w we drove by and I said to myself self we need to go talk to her. >> I was not wrong. You are not wrong at all, >> dude. >> Dropping tanks. We're going to be stopping close for >> you seem like you're such a big fan. Would it be okay if he took a picture of you and I so we could memorialize this? Come here. Get over here. >> Thank you so No crying. Thank you so much for being so kind. >> I won't be able. But listen, >> I believe I absolutely believe you're not going to sleep. >> I'm not a good perfect citizen. Okay. I believe that >> I like to party. But let me tell you, I didn't do nothing. >> Did you say you like to party? >> Well, yeah. But like everybody else, but listen, I didn't do nothing the whole time. He told me to watch him. I did my job. Okay. >> Be careful walking down the street. >> And thank you so much taking a picture with me. >> Have a good night. >> Thanks for stopping. >> I am here joined with Deputy Jared Ballard. He went viral on one of our episodes. >> Is there any reason we're doing over 100 miles an hour down the US60? >> I wasn't doing 100, but >> you absolutely were. >> Thousand. >> All right, you can stop. 100,000. >> You dropped your weed. >> Tell us a little bit about what we're about to get into today. >> All right. So, we are in the city of Cassag Grand. We do these uh deployments with multiple agencies, homeland security out with us, border patrol, uh we use some of our undercover teams, and we start hitting coordinated areas. Our objective is to target areas that have had recent sp uh spikes in high crime. We're going to go to those areas and try to um see if we can interject ourselves and see if we can get some illegal guns off the streets and some uh illegal narcotics that have found their way over into the city of Casc. >> Hell yeah. So, so basically it sounds like we're going to get into some fun tonight. >> Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. >> Oh, this is going to be a good one. >> Why you driving so crazy, man? >> Okay. Do you have a license? You don't have a license plate on the back of this thing? >> Yeah. >> Do you have one or no? Do you not have a registration? >> Um, >> I might not. >> Is it suspended or something or what's going on? >> Just Yeah, I just got home. >> Work here. You live here. What? >> We just turn around. >> Okay. Do you have insurance or anything on this? >> Uh, we just hit me that for loco that's >> I was just about to say it looks like we just stopped him not ago. >> Who else is it? Ain't no one else in your car. >> I just dropped her off. >> This is nice. Yeah, >> I was just about to throw it off. >> Okay. So, do you have an insurance card or no? >> So, it doesn't have insurance. >> Go ahead. >> Um I mean it does, but I had just haven't picked it up. >> Okay. Do you have a registration for it? >> Okay. Can you see if you have the registration card? >> Salad grade four locos 13.9%. >> Okay. All right. Do you have any guns in the car? >> No. >> Any knives in the car? Anything illegal I need to know about? >> No. Okay, hang tight just a second. Okay, >> one male jeans over gray and one female jeans over black. >> So, your registration has been suspended. >> Okay. >> Cuz you don't have any insurance. >> Okay. >> I'm assuming that's why you don't have your plate. Does somebody give you a ticket? Take your plate. >> Uh, it's been it's been a couple months now. >> Okay. All righty. Well, because you've been drinking everything else, hop on out. I want to make sure that you're okay to continue on down the road. Okay. All right. Walk on back here for me. >> Smells like a brewery in there. How much have you had tonight? >> None. >> None. >> None. I just dropped off a friend. >> Okay. How come you're sweating so bad? >> Just I don't know. Like I said, hot in the car. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. Do you have anything illegal on you that you're not supposed to have on? Cuz you keep putting your hands in your pocket. So, turn around. I'm just going to pat you down real quick. Okay. Put your hands on top of your head. >> Make me nervous when you put your hands in your pocket like that. >> All right. >> Okay. All righty. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, I'm going to do a couple tests on you real quick to make sure you're okay to continue. All right. Just do that favor. Put that in your pocket. All right. So, put your feet together with your heels and toes touching like that and your hands down at your side. All right. You see this little green light right here? I'm going to go back and forth in front of your face like this. You're going to follow the green light with your eyes, but you're going to keep your head straight. Okay? So, like this. >> Just keep your head straight. Just follow it with your eyes. Okay? If you need to blink, you can blink. It doesn't affect the test. All right? Um, are you wearing contacts or anything right now? No. Do you know what natural nestagmus is? >> What's that? >> It's a diagnosis. You would know if you had it. Uh, and then you had any car crashes or head injuries in the last 48 hours? >> No. >> No. Perfect. All right. Follow the green light for me. Okay. [Music] All right. Just ba based off of that test right there. You are not being honest with me. So, how much alcohol have you had to drink tonight? >> None. Yes, you have. Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, for the next one, put your feet together like this. Put your hands down at your side. All right. So, what you're going to do is what I tell you to, you're going to close your eyes. You're going to tilt your head backwards. You're going to think of 30 seconds. Once you think 30 seconds has passed, bring your head back forward, open your eyes, and tell me to stop. Okay? So, I'll tell you when to start. You tell me when to stop. Once you've reached 30 seconds in your head, you understand those instructions. >> So, go again. Go again with that. So, when I tell you to, you're going to close your eyes. You're going to tilt your head backwards. You're going to think of 30 seconds. Okay? >> Once you think 30 seconds has passed, bring your head back forward, open your eyes, and say stop. >> Okay? >> So, I tell you when to start, you tell me when to stop once you've reached 30 seconds. You understand that? >> Yes. >> All right. Go and close your eyes, tilt your head back, begin. >> Okay. >> Okay. All right. How much time was that? >> 30 seconds. 30 seconds. And how'd you get there? >> How'd I get there? >> Yeah. >> So, I I counted in my head. >> Like one, two, three's Mississippi sheeps. Just one, two, three. >> One, two, three. >> Perfect. All righty. So, for these next two, we're going to use this per pretty little ground that's right here in front of us. Okay. Any reason you can't do these? >> She's a little nervous. I don't know. >> Little nervous. All right. Go ahead. On you. >> One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. Which foot are you going to raise? >> Right. >> Your right foot. All right. Go ahead and begin. 1001 10002 1003 104 105 2006 107 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2014 2015 2016 2018 2019 2020 2123 24 25 26 27 1 28 89. >> All right, now you can stop. >> That's kind of a little tricky one there. We're going to go left. >> Do I want me to hold it? >> Uh, like I said, touch the tip of your nose and then bring it right back down. >> I'm sorry. >> No, you're good. Right. left. >> Okay. You do any kind of illegal drugs? >> No. >> All right. You sure you don't do any type of stimulants or anything crazy like that? Like methamphetamine? >> No. >> No. >> How about cocaine? >> No. >> No. You do any kind of drugs? >> No. >> Have you ever? >> No. >> Ever been to prison for drugs or anything? >> I have. >> You do any kind of drugs? >> No. >> Have you ever? >> No. >> Would you go to for drugs? >> Yeah. >> What was your drug then? Yeah, it was it was meth. >> Methamphetamine. >> Yeah. >> Okay. The problem is we have a whole bunch of clues here that you're impaired. Your internal clock is at 13 seconds when I asked you to say 30. That means your internal clock is sped up like crazy. >> So that makes me believe you have some type of stimulant in your body like cocaine or methamphetamine. >> Okay. When was the last time you used methamphetamine? >> Several months. >> Seven months. Been clean and sober. >> Just been drinking in instead. No, you haven't had no alcohol tonight. >> All right, hang tight. One more second. >> All right, take a real deep breath of air and blow air through the straw that direction till I tell you to stop. >> Keep going. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go. >> Lincoln, Adam, Lincoln, Ida, Ida, Ida. >> Exit. >> Got drunk just smelling from your straw. So, the legal limit in Arizona is 08. >> You are This is 085. So, you're technically over the legal limit just for alcohol. Okay. >> So, you have been drinking. >> So, which I was able to tell you that just by based off looking at your eyeballs. >> Why would you lie to me? Units who are still out there. David 264. Can slow down. >> Just no reason. Just screw it. >> I don't know. I mean, I'm on probation. Just >> Well, don't you think being probation you'd want to be super honest? >> Yeah, >> cuz I could just call your probation officer and be like, "Hey, man. This dude's a liar. He lied to the cops. Driving around drunk, driving like crazy down the roadway." And then when I asked him about it, he just lied to me the entire time. Okay. When's the last time you checked in? >> Um, two days ago. >> Okay. What are you on probation for right now? >> For breaking a restrain order. >> But you're you're still in good standing with him currently? >> Yeah. I just like I said, just I don't know. >> Okay. All right. Well, do me a favor. Throw put your hand on your back. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, I have to ask you, do you have anything that's illegal on you that you're not supposed to have? Okay. >> Is there anything illegal in your car that's not supposed to be there? >> No. Is there anything illegal in your car that's not supposed to be there? No. >> Your car is going to get towed. All right. Cuz it's the there's no insurance on it. The plates are suspended. >> Can I just walk home? I mean, >> no. No, man. You chose to drink and drive tonight. So, and like I said, the way your driving was right there on the roadway, you're putting yourself and everybody else's life in danger, man. Too many innocent people lose their lives because people like you decide to drive drunk. Uh, I'll even be a nice guy and let you take your vape. Okay. Just do not smoke it and while you're in my possession, you understand? >> Can I get up real quick? >> You know what? I'll let you. >> Thank you, man. Damn. >> But look, man, you're driving around. You got an open container in the car. You're 085. >> I should have just have her take it, man. >> Okay. So, and I I honestly obviously you're the only one that knows what's going to be in your blood when I get it back, but you're showing me all the signs and symptoms that you have some type of stimulant in your body. So, do you take psych meds or anything? >> You do? >> Okay. And you haven't used meth in a couple of months? >> No. >> So, when I get your blood back, it's not going to show that you have meth in it? >> No. >> Okay. All right. Let's walk over here to this car for me. >> All right. Go ahead and slide up there. All right. One more time. Nothing in your car that I'm going to find right now cuz I got to inventory it, right? >> Yeah. Nothing. >> No pipes, no paraphernalia. >> It's not mine. No, I don't have nothing. >> What's not yours? >> I said, like I said, the alcohol is not mine. >> Okay. >> So, I just like I said, dropped her off. I was headed home. >> Okay. All right. >> Hit this road and go back home. >> All right. Hang tight. Look at the windshield. >> Nice and cold. >> Coming out. >> Oh, look. He's got a meth pipe underneath there. Hold it up. >> Yeah. Oh, there's a meth pipe under there. There she is. He don't use meth though anymore. >> Hey Frank, would you believe it? >> What? But he doesn't he doesn't do meth anymore. >> 15sec rober. How do you possibly be on a stem? >> Really? I know. >> I had a roadside one before at 7 seconds and I looked at at Julian. He looked at me and I was like, "Uh, >> toe sheep's just about done. Toes on the way." >> All right. Nothing on this side. This seat's not bolted in either. So, I have this saying, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's probably going to be a duck. So, I say I asked you if you use methamphetamine. Why? I got a meth pipe right there in your car. >> Yeah, that's not mine, sir. >> It's your car. >> It is my car. >> And you're telling me this person was able to randomly hide it underneath your center console? >> Possibly. >> All right. So, you're telling me this isn't yours? >> No, sir. >> Okay. And you're telling me you don't do methamphetamine? No, I don't. >> Okay. >> TFC. >> Yeah, it looks old. >> He had really bad eyelid trimmers, too. So, I'm sure he's >> Like I said, it looks old. I'll take a picture of it anyway. Obviously, we're going to say he is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but I pretty sure we could all agree that uh we had some pretty good clues of impairment on this individual. So, uh that's also the dangers of driving impaired. Um, as you can see, he was uh just over the legal limit. Uh, but you can see just from the few tests that we were able to do there on the side of the road, uh, that he was not able to walk or turn or balance very well. Allegedly, under the influence of drugs as well, uh, you can see how fast somebody's internal clock is sped up, uh, which is super dangerous when you're driving down the road because, uh, things are happening really fast in front of you. Even though they're not really happening fast, you just assume they're happening fast because you're under the influence of a drug, which usually results into a bad accident. Uh this subject was processed. He was released tonight pending charges. So his blood kit will get sent down to the uh laboratory for testing. Uh at which point then we will get a analysis form back from the um Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory. We review that and then we submit the charges to the Panal County Attorney's Office to review for charging. >> Wow, dude. You're an absolute stud. Thank you for uh allowing me to to come out with you tonight and uh had an absolute blast as always. Oh, absolutely. Anytime. [Music]
