recklessly she was observed making a turn without noticing her surroundings prompting the officer to intervene for Public Safety 671 I going to need a 54 please not 1018 preferably a female unit if once's available here you go all right are you the registered owner of the vehicle uh my dad is okay and do you live in Ohio or do you live here I live in Orlando okay so what are you doing in Tampa I go to school here oh okay do you have the copy of the insurance yes I do the police officer stopped the vehicle and approached the driver encountering a highly intoxicated woman her physical appearance and the strong odor of alcohol from the vehicle indicated she was drunk the officer began an investigation during which the woman behaved very well and cooperated fully with the officer 54 just signal 54 all right let's see here all right this says that it expired December of 2019 see if you have an updated Insurance well my license just expired my license plate and then I just got this new one right this is the registration for your plate but that's your insurance it says that you're covered in case an accident happens while you're grabbing that do you know why I'm stopping you because I went in the one way yeah you went to the left of the concrete Island right there and you drove the opposite side yes uh head on into traffic I was just very confused yeah cuz I was just in the parking lot over there yeah I saw you when you turned and you made a left hand turn onto Kennedy and when you did you drove right down the yellow line and I'm like oh she went over the line and then all of a sudden you just went completely to the left of it and started driving the wrong way then I went to this Lane where this is going over there well after I pulled over the stopage you yes the officer asked the woman to exit the vehicle and come onto the road once she was out of the vehicle the officer informed her that they needed to administer a Fe sobriety test to confirm whether she was drunk the woman still Cooperative complied with the officer's request um all right where are you coming from I'm coming from my apartment over there it's posty Park you said you there the school before I was at the school before okay well the school's right here you just you just came to the school yes I went my apartment to the school and I went from the school to over here all right and then I'm not sure did you have anything to drink tonight before for driving no 104 this has expired in 2022 that was last year so that one's expired well my dad I asked him about the plates because I'm not really sure about what happens with cars or anything I just told him my plates were about to expire and he mailed me that so this is yeah this is your registration yes and he renewed it okay all right we'll step out the car let me make sure you're good to drive before you go any further okay perfect all right let's uh step over there so we don't get hit by our car okay start on the side and while we're over there I'm going to shut my lights off real quick oh you come over here all right do you have any medical problems diabetes high blood pressure over here I have like mental health issues but I don't know if that's like a thing okay do you take medication for it I do take Zoloft zolof all right have you had zoff tonight yes okay is that with your regular schedule is that how you normally do it okay do you have any like diabetes high blood pressure any mental illness besides that no I mean I have anxiety and depression but that's with the Z off so okay so that's all covered test and the officer asked her to follow his finger with her eyes to perform the horizontal gaze nagus test the woman complied and performed exceptionally well in this test smoothly tracking the officer's finger movements without any signs of impairment all you can relax all right would you do some SB exercises so I can be sure you're okay to drive yes okay uh let's see that look slumpy let's just use this line right here it's fine all right if you could stand right there for me right here yep and face this direction okay see this white line on the ground we're going to use this white line okay okay now before we begin I tell you I'm going to give you a series of very detailed instructions okay and it's very important that you pay attention to all the little details right it's not meant to trick you so if you have any questions feel free to ask okay but I cannot answer questions during the exercise while you're doing it so make sure to ask before okay okay all right if you could put your left foot on that line for me right down the center of it yep take your right foot in front of left touch and heel the toe and then put your hands by your side against your legs yep now this is a starting position so don't move from here till I say okay all right now when I say begin you're going to take nine steps down the line nine steps okay y then you're going to turn around and walk nine steps back okay each step has to be on the line and touching Heel To Toe okay you're going to keep your hands by your side against your legs the entire time okay you're going to look down at your feet while you're walking and you're going to count each step out loud so I can hear you okay okay so to look down the whole time yes so it's going to look just like this so from here one 2 3 all the way till 9 now when you get to that last step leave your front foot where it is but take your back foot off the line and exactly like this like well exactly like I'm turning around with this series of small steps then return your foot and count nine steps back so one 2 3 all the way till 9 all right and during the exercise don't stop until you're finished okay so you go all the way down turn to come back without stopping okay okay all right take a little step back cuz I want to make sure you have enough room y right there's fine okay all right so right foot on the line this count as one or no no this is zero this is just the starting position it doesn't count all right are you ready to begin yes all right go ahead and begin okay one two 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and then we go over here correct and then return okay and then one 2 3 4 5 6 7 all right next exercise uh I guess you can stand right here is fine we're not going to use a line anymore so don't worry about the line okay all I need you to do to keep your feet together side by side and Put Your Hands by your side just like that now that's the starting position for this exercise so I need you to maintain that position don't move from there till I say begin okay now when I do say begin you're going to choose one foot either left or right and you're going to raise that foot off the ground about 6 in about the height of a soda can okay now when doing so make sure you point your toes to keep your foot level with the ground you're going to keep your knees straight and Hands by your side against your legs okay you're going to look down at your foot the entire time and you're going to count out loud starting with 101 and you just keep counting till I say stop 1 And1 starting yeah that's where you start so it'll look like this so from here you raise your foot and count 1001 1002 1003 1004 nope exactly how I'm doing y after completing the hgn test the police officer proceeded to administer the other field sobriety tests to further assess her condition don't begin yet okay now if at any time you put your foot down just lift it right back up and continue to start where you left off okay so don't stop or restart okay decided to take her into custody to conduct a breath analyzer test aiming to obtain a more accurate measure of her blood alcohol content the woman agreed to the breath analyzer test and the officer arrested her placing her in the police vehicle for transport to the station did you get my purse your purse no because it only has some papers and stuff in it but I did grab your cards out of it okay did you grab all of them uh yes even yes even even your fake ID for Michigan yes which by the way is a felony down here you can do up to 5 years in prison for having false government documentation so I want you to be very weary of that because that's that's super serious my question is what's going my car uh the other officer is here to impound your car so he's going to call for tow truck to come pick it up okay will you give me the address as to where it is yes well as soon as they let us know we haven't called the TR to yet so we don't know yet but as soon as they show up okay can I ask you a question absolutely so my mom just tried to OD the other week your mother just tried to OD yes okay the other weekend and I'm supposed to go see her tomorrow morning at 7: a.m. you mean in like 3 and a half hours yes you were planning on going to visit your mother who ODed yes in this condition well I was going to go asleep for how long it's in 3 hours you got to be there in 3 hours what time damn slow no not necessarily well I understand that but despite being a young girl you are an adult and you made the decision to drive tonight and I don't know what to tell you but you definitely should not be driving tonight well I'm not very drunk you don't have to be very drunk just have to be physically impaired no but the thing is is that I drank about 2 hours ago mhm and then I was like okay I know I'm going to drive later I need right well I don't know what to tell you but you didn't wait long enough that's for [Music] sure so are those like Le test realink Al and [Music] no I've already made the decision but I can tell you this because you're female and because you're younger your body can process alcohol a lot uh a lot less or a lot less efficient than somebody who is much larger than you because you're younger you get drunker easier you know it's not like you've been drinking for 30 years and you built up a tolerance yeah so so because of that you can drink less than the average person who might be older or larger than you when the woman asked the officer what would happen if the breathalyzer test showed she was not under the influence the officer explained that even if she was found to be sober she would not be released immediately instead she would remain in custody for 8 hours as a precautionary measure before being released so even though you may not feel like you're impaired you're definitely too impaired to be driving okay well that's going to be down at the jail but that's they got to stay on for right now do not remove them I'm I well well a lot of people like like you have small wrists and sometimes their hands will pull out but just so you know if your hands come out of those handcuffs that'll be in I'm just letting you know I know I understand well I have been doing this a long time it's a good field yeah I'm going to be a [Music] yep am I going behind bars well kind of yes I mean you're going to be in the jail but they're not going to they're not going to put you in a in a Cell I'm just Lally just you're an adult the day you turned 18 is you an adult 2 years ago okay well listen I understand that and I have sympathy but I can tell you it doesn't matter how old you are you can still hit and kill somebody what I said any you were driving the wrong way on a oneway street right and you're you're too impaired to be driving that's very [Music] dangerous so how did you get this F I needed a job I guess do they require any like recommendations recommendations like well yes College military there's a bunch of things you got to do police yes Police Academy a whole bunch of things let me tell you one thing okay I just need to know right now am I going to be able to go home tomorrow at 7 a.m. no you have 8 hours before they allow you to leave the jail 8 hours yes it's a being serious yes it's a sobriety period they can't let you go before that because I stopped you at 3:00 you arrested about a quarter after it'll be about 11:15 in the morning before they let you out and there's nothing anybody can do about that that's state law state law says anybody that's arrested for DUI must do 8 hours it's a sobriety period is all it is even what oh yeah it doesn't matter someone's going to end up having to come to get you anyway when you get out but uh but they can't do that for8 hours sure it's America man you can Su anybody you want you think they will no I can't hear you me the name of yeah as soon as they find out who it is well when you get there they're going to let you have access to it to get numbers out of it yes not immediately it'll be about an hour but yes you'll you'll be able to do it this is a l I hope so this is definitely a everyone should know uh we do because of people do withouten yeah but you can't tell me you didn't know drunk driving was was illegal or impaired driving was illegal you know ,000 people die every year of DUI car crashes all right that should be a huge warning before ever get behind the wheel of a car if you've had anything to drink just call Anu I know but I just didn't thing yeah but you're also young and don't have an alcohol tolerance I mean I know no you don't I only had two you don't know your tolerance you might think you do but you're in the back of a cop car for a DUI that's proof that you don't know your tolerance here's another thing is and I'm not trying to be rude but I'm trying to explain it so you understand is that you're also too young to know your tolerance there is no tolerance at that age your your body cannot build up a tolerance at 20 not unless you are just an alcoholic since you were like 12 you it takes a long time to build the tolerance for alcohol years tolerance is different with people on depressants correct as a matter of fact it becomes worse because depressants guess what alcohol is a depressant and when you take depressants like Zoloft and you mix it with alcohol it's exponentially worse yes I just Z like two months ago well I don't what to tell you but mixing medication and alcohol is very bad well on the Zoloft it has a ER on that box that says do not consume alcoholic [Music] beverages no your therapist do not tell you you can mix alcohol with Olaf listen that's illegal that's illegal she can't do that what how is that you're a therapist can't tell you that alcohol is okay with Zoloft no I
