She's one year old. >> Can a one-year-old take care of themselves in a room alone? >> Just like you you were trying to be smart. Be like, "Oh, what's the difference between this and that?" Because you're going to go to jail. >> We use to keep it clean. But we do. She's been eating. Does >> your refrigerator even work? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Where does she sleep? >> Okay. >> They lie. They break down and make excuses, but bad parenting never beats the badge. These six parents learned the hard way that neglect ends in handcuffs. On October 1st, 2024, officers responded to a call about a three-year-old girl living in a ratinfested house with no clean food or running water. Officers, together with child protective services, inspected the home and found it in total disarray. Floors covered in old food, rooms filthy, and the conditions unlivable. >> How you? >> I'm good. So, I got some information. There's a small child that lives here that's basically being neglected. Uh three-year-old, maybe. Little girl. >> What? >> Mhm. Is there a three-year-old that lives here? >> Yeah. Uh Matt's a little girl, but she's not neglected whatsoever. >> Right. And she may not be, but I just got the information that she was. Um is she here now? >> Yeah. Okay. >> You want me to go in and >> Yeah, I I'll have to I'll have to see her and check on just check on her or whatever. So, um, yeah. >> Is the living conditions any better than they were the last time we were here? >> Uh, yes. >> As far as I know, yes. >> Well, Brian has a dang door lock. Let me go to his window. Hang on. >> What's up? >> Not much. >> How are you? >> Just got up. >> Yeah. >> Sleep your life away that way. >> Oh, yeah. Uh, like I told him, I I received information that there's a small child living here in poor living conditions. I know you still don't have running water. Um, >> so I want to I want to check on the living conditions in the child. >> All right. >> So, >> let me see if I can get them up. >> Okay. >> How are you? >> Pretty good. >> You doing okay? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. Like I told him, I got a uh report that there's a small child living here that's being neglected, living in poor living conditions. Uh no food, no running water. So, my job is to just have a look at your child, make sure she's got food and a place to sleep, and then I'll be on my way. >> Cuz right now, we ate what we had last night, but I'm just got my KP. So, I go and go get some for today. >> Yeah. >> But she's not that good. >> Okay. Where's she at? >> She's asleep right now. >> Okay. Well, you can take me to where she sleeps and then um >> Well, we have to go around to the back cuz it's harder to get to the dog. >> Okay. >> Or you want me to go get her? >> No, I I want to see where she sleeps. >> I have to like go inside and see where she sleeps. >> I can know who called cuz she's not in the car, >> right? I still need to see where she sleeps. >> She sleeps with me and her right now. >> Okay. I'm still going to see before I leave. >> I can't get in there. >> Why can't you get in there? >> Cuz we got a couch. We got two dogs. >> The one dog is a >> I've been here before, sir. >> I'm >> I've been in this house and I know what it's going to look like when I go in here. I'm not going to be surprised at all. But I do have to check the welfare of the child before I leave this house. >> Can I go get her? >> I'm going to see where she sleeps. I mean, when you act this way, that tells me that it's not going to be good when I go in here. Okay? And as a parent, you should know better. All right? Like, it there's no excuse for it. So, I'm going to see where she sleeps before I leave or I'll call social services now to come pick her up. It's up to you. All right. Bye. All right. You can take me in. >> It's messy. I hadn't had time to clean it cuz I've been working. I know it's messy. >> I'm trying to get everything done, but everything takes money in it. I got >> I had all this clean, but it's not now. But I am trying. Hold on. >> She's right there. >> You get the dog out here. Come on. St. I tried to put him up. Come on. >> Baby's right there. >> Excuse me. >> This is from last night from the dog. >> It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. Oh no. >> Which I got to get cleaned up. We used to keep it clean. Social service is going to come talk to you and then me and you'll have a conversation on why you're going to jail. I feel like it's pretty obvious, but we're go up here to sit in my car. >> I think about going brother, too. >> The brother? >> Yeah, he's in the back, too. >> Yeah. I only have one more. Have a seat for me. >> I'll roll the window down. Okay. [Music] >> The girl's mother, Angelica, and her father, Matthew, were both arrested on the spot for child neglect. They were taken into custody and removed from the scene while child protective services took over. Drop your take on this and stick around because more outrageous cases of reckless parenting are coming up. This dad couldn't believe what his ex- fiance had done to their three-year-old daughter. On August 1st, 2024, Fairborn police responded to a call about a little girl who had been abandoned by her mother. Officers arrived at the apartment and found the child malnourished, covered in bug bites, and barely breathing. The house was in total disarray. Medics rushed the girl to the hospital. The father explained that he had separated from his ex- fiance, Raba, 6 months earlier and had left their daughter in her care. What he didn't realize was that Rabia had never truly cared for their child. >> Obviously very ill. >> So, how did you come to find yourself over here? >> She called me and was freaking out, telling me that my daughter was malnourished and that she was sorry and she had to go. >> Where would she go? >> I have no idea. Her mom lives in ying um in the uh the um apartments over there by the horse track. Is my daughter okay? >> Well, she's in route to Children's Hospital right now. Do you have an ID on your partner? >> What is your daughter's name? >> Okay, check it out. >> Where would she be going? >> I have no idea. She has no family around here. >> So, like I said, her mom lives in yellow and uh I don't know where her sister lives anymore. I know that she's been talking to a lot of people online. >> Can I get a picture of this eventually? Okay, I'll just give it back to you for now. So, you got a number I can send it to you. Just a screenshot. Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah. I use my work phone. Yeah, >> she's been talking to a lot of guys online. She's been reading this. Yeah. >> On Destiny all night. Didn't think this was going to happen. When's the last time you saw your daughter? >> It's been a while. She um had kept telling me that she didn't want me around her because she had had issues with being awake when she was a child and that uh because of that she was uncomfortable with us being in the same room and reasons to why she was asleep every time I came over and I seen her at least two or three weeks. >> Okay. And when you saw her And when you saw her two or three weeks ago, her she was in good health or she was >> okay. >> And and so does she have drug problems or what's going on? >> Um she smokes pot, but I don't think that's the cause of it. Uh about I want to say 6 months ago we split up because her father died and she went completely off rails after that. She stopped cleaning. she stopped taking care of everything. It led to many arguments. Um she had asked me to quit my job 2 years prior. And uh I listened because she was making like $1,000 a week. And uh so I told her, you know, because I knew she was struggling, getting close. I will go get a job. I will take care of everything. And she said, "No, I want you to stay here." And it kept turning into fights until I caught her cheating or on me with some people online. And uh she's just been in this in this spiral. She hasn't cleaned up the room. The last time I uh but she doesn't clean her own room. I think the only reason she cleaned that room is because I told her that I I would seriously [ __ ] hurt her if I found my daughter in any kind of condition because we lost our first daughter because she had neglect issues. And uh that was the reason we were allowed to keep this one. And uh >> you lost your first daughter? like she they end up put her up for adoption or >> Yeah. CPS took her because we were I had taken her to my uncle's and an old friend of mine that I looked at like a brother had his gun on him and he was uh ex-military. So I assumed, you know, everything was fine. I didn't know he had it on him at the time. He pulled it out to clean it. I wasn't paying attention and he shot himself in the knee. Um >> Okay. I guess there was a bullet wedged in where he was trying to dislodge and the handle cocked forward and snapped the bullet in his knee. And because of that along with uh they said that she had marks on her back which I had assumed was from flowing in her stroller that uh they needed to take custody. Okay. Would you humor me? I know she said that her her uh phone's going on airplane mode, but can you text her back and say, "Hey, I'm talking to the police. like need to come back here or something to that effect. Thank you. Okay, I'll be right back. >> Fairborn Police Department. Fairborn Police Department. Fairmore Police. >> Which one is it? Left >> B. The old the older lady. Uh they always come in here and check answering. >> All right, let's go in. >> Airborne Police. Airborne Police Department >> 305. Good. Call the number back. older male answer the phone that he has no idea who Areola is and no one uses his phone. However, >> the phone number that came up on the 911 >> godamn [ __ ] more police. She was on Wallace. >> I'm good. >> That's when she called according to the jailer. >> Holy [ __ ] She's breathing. She's still breathing. >> Let's go. Let's go. [Music] >> She's still breathing. light >> right here. Yeah, she's still breathing. I'll get out of your way. Sorry. >> Yeah, it didn't look like it. >> I'd say just pick up and let's go. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Where are these [ __ ] bugs here? >> Oh, [ __ ] >> Oh my god. We haven't even got that far. >> Uh, let's get pictures started and call Johnny, please make go. [Applause] >> Hey, can you and one of your guys respond down here? We found this kid barely alive. Medics are rushing uh the kid to the hospital. Um Yep. Yep. We're finishing up trying to clear this place, but you're definitely going to want to be down here. All right. Thanks, B. >> Yeah, Zach ripped that one off the end. So, go ahead. Jeez. board please. 295. Can you see what history we have at this address, please? Jesus Christ. [ __ ] poor kid. [Music] Sorry, let me get out of your way. All right, so we did secondaries. [ __ ] Yeah, it's bad. called not here. And then they called the back was the guy. Did you guys hear that part of it? >> Yeah, I was once I saw the kid I [ __ ] zed out. >> So the lady who called obviously isn't here. They called the number back and a guy answered and said he has no idea who >> 300. >> Good. >> We have a Rabia Jasmine listed as of September. >> Yeah, let's do that. Susan Lynn, [Music] >> Ronnie Day Jr. and I don't know. Yeah, go ahead and start getting pictures. I'm going to go up here and uh I'm going to the office and see if they got anything. >> Thank you. >> Let me go get my big wipe for you. Of course, I forgot that it's still charging. >> I got one. I think maybe in my bag >> lady upstairs came out and said it was a >> [ __ ] mouse on the >> Luna and uh >> Luna and Cory is who she's known to live here, but she says she's never seen it. You straight ripped that door off. >> Uh, I was just trying to >> Yeah. No, I >> I don't know. I >> like, holy Toledo. That shit's disturbing, man. >> I don't blame you. [ __ ] disgusting. I'm going to go get with Johnny and them. Um, so obviously you heard the call. We show up here. Mhm. >> Um, the door is kind of a jar. I'm like, uh, they said there's a kid in there. Nobody's answering. Let's go in. We go in, find the kid, maybe two, three emaciated. covered in bites. We thought she or he we was dead on the floor, but was barely breathing. >> Medic scooped her up, ran to the hospital. Okay, >> this is what we have. >> That's what we're working on. Soph's going down to the apartment complex uh right now. They said radia or something like that. >> Like a pretty foreign house. Yeah, this is her apartment >> supposedly. That's what we're trying to determine the call >> again. Yes. Um, but it sounds like a male came back on the line the second time or something like that. I Ronnie Day Jr. Nothing with radio in there. Um, so that's what they're trying to determine is who who belongs here and who called us. Um, but we got pictures and obviously I called out code enforcement. So, okay. >> Um, but yeah, if you guys want to I don't know if you want to look through there. I might have booties if you want them. >> I guess so. >> And it was the back back bedroom there with the pink show. The one with the one with the door ripped off. >> Mhm. >> That's Yeah, >> you were live. >> Yes. Yes. Yeah. >> Um, so >> I'm going to I'm going to grab booties before I walk in there. >> Huh? I don't know if you heard the any um so basically we showed up here because somebody said they found a two or threeyear-old breathing hard >> hard to breathe. So we show up doors open nobody's answering. We go in uh found probably three-year-old in the back completely emaciated covered in bug bites. We thought she was dead but she was barely breathing. So medics came in, scooped her up, but cat [ __ ] every [ __ ] known to man in there, bugs everywhere. Um search >> uh Zinc and I did. Um so >> so this will be one of those ones that we're just going to take his body cam. >> Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, we were both live. >> I mean, you guys investigate, but we don't know. So I go in and get Absolutely. >> Um fill out the placard and have it on the door. We'll go up and contact the office to be in here and then just let us know if you need a support if you don't want anybody in here or once your investigation is going if you want us to have them pass. Got you. >> But nothing's okay. >> At around 10:00 a.m., my ex- fiance called me to tell me my child in her care was bleeding and unconscious. of saying she was leaving and she was sorry, I left from my uncle's house to rush over after telling her to calm down only to receive a message saying she was putting her phone in airplane mode and running off and that she was sorry and to get my things from the apartment. I arrived at the police outside her door only to find that she was gone and my child was taken to the hospital. >> Gotcha. I appreciate that, man. Well, right now we're trying to figure out a whole bunch of things, right? A whole bunch of details. Um, >> you want to fix it. My back is killing. >> Um, >> what' you What do you want? >> Just sit down. >> Yeah, we're going to have you can have a seat in the back of my car. Um, >> are you guys taking me? >> What's that? >> Are you guys taking me? >> Uh, yeah, we are. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, my stuff to I'll take care of that. Let's uh let's walk in front of my car. All right. Okay. Just right here is good. Um, if you want to face my car, you don't have Just put your hands out to your sides. >> Nothing. Nothing on your uh in your pockets at all. No pockets. You have >> um just underwear underneath your sweats. >> Not underwear. Just >> Just your sweats. Okay. Perfect. >> 322. >> All right. Go ahead and put your palms together behind your back. >> 322. >> Tell me how tell me how to say your name. Ravia. Okay. Ravia, my name is Ryan. I'm a detective. Uh, and I am the detective that's going to be handling this case. >> I'm sorry. >> Can you call me? >> I can't. >> I I can't. Um, it's going to be a little bit. So, right now, um, you're going to be taken to the Fairborn Police Department. Uh, there's some administrative things that we have to do there. Uh, take a picture and some some fingerprints, but I'm going to be down to talk to you uh, soon. Okay. All right. um true. >> So I I can't I can't give you an answer like that only because I don't know. Um but Okay. All right. Very good. Again, I will be down to talk to you uh in just a little while. All right. Okay. These aren't too tight, are they? >> Okay. Let's go around to the pastor side here and have a seat. What's this fell's name back here? Travis, can you please tell him that that stuff right there needs to go to my kid's dad? >> Okay. >> The one that was over here earlier. >> Just Just hang out right there, man. I'll be right with you. >> Yeah. Yep. >> Just give me a second. >> All right. >> Is there any way you could cough in the front? I have spinal problems and this really hurts. >> Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. Just uh can you turn? Can you turn? Uh, let's see here. Hang on. I'll see. There we go. All right. just uh just like we'll try to uh Yeah. Rabia was arrested and taken into custody for child neglect. Authorities launched a full investigation into her actions. Aaron and Martina loved gambling so much they were willing to bet the safety of their two babies. On July 2nd, 2022, officers received a report about two babies left alone in a hotel room naked, crying, and unattended for nearly an hour. Thankfully, a hotel staff member heard the cries and stepped in to care for the children while the parents were off the property gambling in a nearby gaming lounge, completely unaware of the price they'd pay for their recklessness. >> Hey, housekeeping. He just came here about 10 to 15 minutes. Um, housekeeping was when they checked the room to see if it was a stayover or not, which is the stayover. >> Okay. Top or bottom? >> Top. >> Okay. Who's Who's registered for that room? >> Aaron Doby. >> Who else? >> That's all I know. >> I don't know who else is in that room cuz I didn't check them in. >> Okay, I'll check it out. >> All right. How >> Okay. >> Hi. >> Check out the door to try to, you know, see if they were going to check out. I heard the baby, so I'm like, maybe someone is taking care of the baby. I'll come back and knock. So, I came 10 minutes later and no one still came in with the baby. There's no baby formula in there for them. No, nothing. This baby, they were in there with no clothes on. I just put them on clothes. >> Let me check it out. Where's the Where's the guy that left you? >> We don't know. They've been gone for at least we've been in here what, 15, 20 minutes. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> Okay. There's nobody in the shower or her, right? >> No one's in here now. >> Nobody's in the under the bed. >> So, I came in. >> Have you seen them? >> No, they haven't been here. >> Have you seen them? No, >> we have their names though cuz you know they checked in but we haven't seen >> they or him. >> I guess it's a guy. >> I'm assuming he has a wife. I would hope. I don't know. I I don't know. The guy is the name that it's under. It's a black guy. A tall black guy. >> Hi. >> Okay. Was he with anyone? >> No, he was by himself. >> So he walked to the front desk. What did he wanted to do? >> He wanted to extend. I told him he could stay in the same room. He sat down, booked it online, and then he he told me he just did it. I said, "Give me about 30 minutes." And that's when he left. >> How long did he want to extend it for? >> Just a day. >> So, he wanted to extend the stay one day. >> Uh-huh. >> And then what happened? >> And he just left. I said it takes about 30 minutes for it to hit our system. And then just >> You just got into the car and left. >> I didn't see the car cuz I was sitting down. He just let me know. He booked it another night. >> So, okay. Okay. So, he wanted and then he he said he booked it though. >> Mhm. >> Uh you going to the room? I'll have look up the video for you. >> Okay, great. Of anything that you can show me his face. He didn't give a date of birth or nothing, right? >> No. >> No ID or nothing that he give? >> No. >> Okay. >> Hello. >> There you go. >> You here? >> Yeah. So, did you get in the store yet? You want to You want info on that first? >> Yes. >> Okay. We got dispatched to um shut on that. Yeah. Power here. Yeah. >> So, we get here, some of the staff were taking care of the babies. Um >> staff was already here taking care of the baby. >> One of the the young lady, she walked in, she knocked on the door at 11:05. She heard a baby, but everybody's supposed to be out at 11:00. >> Okay. Hey, how are you? >> So, she said, she thought, well, maybe they're getting everything packed up and getting ready to go. So, she went on down and said she had come back. So, she came back at 11:15, knocks on the door again. Still hears the baby, but nothing else. So, she unlocks the door to check, see what's going on. Nobody else is here but two babies. The baby's about to fall off the bed right here. The other little one was under a pile of pillows on the other bed. upstairs to pay for another day. >> Uhhuh. >> He then goes across the street to the arcade. >> A little while later, she leaves and goes over there live baby. >> Walk in the door. >> So you guys went over to the arcade. >> Oh yeah. >> Yeah. So, you were So, you told her that let's go gamble. >> I I didn't say nothing to nobody, sir. I I >> So, how did you leave the room with the kids still in the room? You made a conscious decision to do that. You I'm not talking about her. I'm talking about you. >> I'm not. Look, I just want the blame on me cuz I don't want her to get in trouble. >> Okay. Okay. So, that's >> She don't I don't She don't deserve to be in jail. >> I understand. >> That still doesn't answer my question. >> She doesn't deserve to be in jail. >> Okay. Was there anybody that was supposed to be in the room to babysit the children? >> Look, I'm going to get a lawyer. >> Okay. >> They can check the cameras. >> Okay. and see what what all transpired, who came in by the self and everything, you know. I know what I did, you know. And >> what's your name, guy? >> My name is And last name Y. >> Hold him. You got him. >> Who's in charge? Let me let me call you back. >> Step inside. >> The day of riding together. Do you remember? >> No. Who came first? >> He did. >> He came. >> He came first by himself. >> Yes. >> And she drove in the car. Did he walk? Do you remember? Do you have cameras? >> Yeah, we got cameras. I got your card. My boss is going to send you all that. Okay. >> I don't know how they got here because I don't see outside. >> Is there any cameras outside? >> There's only one. I don't know what that shows, but he um >> it should show how >> Yeah, I'm thinking right now. >> Do we And can he Does he know how to like none of you know how to pull those up? Like you guys >> Yeah, he's dealing with the access. >> Does he have access on his phone? Like he sent it to me. >> I believe so. >> You have a way to talk to him? >> Yep. Hold on. >> He says, "Does he have an email address?" >> Yeah. M >> Hold on. Go ahead. Type it in. Let's make this easy. Thank you so much. >> You're very welcome. >> These are two you're talking about right here. No, I'm just kidding. >> Thank you. >> I saw you here. Where did I see you not too long ago? >> Hey, I'm going in. >> You saw me this morning >> over at the No, >> I saw you somewhere. Was this your but your your friend with the U-Haul? >> You guys were walking yesterday. Okay. Not >> my friend. Got him. >> Looks like you're right here. >> Got him. >> Me? >> Yep. Are you with him? >> Yes. >> Your kids in the hotel across the street? >> Yes. >> Around water down. >> Wow. >> Yeah. Put your water down. >> Put your water down. >> Yeah. Change place child. [Music] adult male, adult female. >> This car over here. >> What car did you guys come in? >> Black one to the left. Walk to your left. Black one right here. >> Okay. Whose car is that? >> This one. What's your name? >> Yeah. Yeah, I know. >> I'm going to put her in the back of mine. >> So, check on my baby. >> They're fine. I have an ambulance and another deputies over there. Let's go walk to my car. >> This is really nice. >> Yes, it is 100%. Can't leave your child unattended. >> No. I was just walking >> to go play video games. >> No, no, no. But as you see, as you was walking in, I was going back to Housekeeping found him out here female search. >> You have anything on you that's going to poke me, stick me, stab me, bombs, explosives, guns, knives? >> Okay. Have a seat in my car. >> I'll take your phone. Where's your phone? In your pocket here. >> My right pocket. >> In your right pocket. Have a seat in the car for me. >> All the way in. >> Are they on you? No weapons. >> Take this off. >> Okay. No guns. You're not hiding anything in your pants or anything, huh? >> Make sure you ain't got no keys in there. >> You get the phone. >> You have a seat in the car. Get all your stuff. >> We'll get all your stuff for you. He said he didn't have one. >> Watch feet. Aaron Phobe and Martina Shaw were arrested for child neglect and taken into police custody. Their reckless choices didn't go unnoticed. Harley knew exactly what she'd done wrong. But instead of owning up to it, she got defensive and full of attitude. Didn't matter. The cuffs still clicked. On June 16th, 2024, a front desk attendant called police after discovering a one-year-old child neglected in Harley's apartment. God, >> hello. The door now. That's the moment. She just went back up. >> Okay. Uh, where's the kid? >> What's this? >> Is somebody with him? >> No. >> Okay. Can you show me where it is? >> Excuse me, ma'am. Excuse me. >> Yes. >> Can you talk to me for a second? >> I know exactly what it's about. I get >> So, hold on. What's going on? >> What do you mean? >> Okay. You said you know what's going on, right? You just told me that. So, what's going on? >> Because up there, I literally want to go get food. I work 12 hours a day. >> Maybe you left that in the car outside. Ma'am, come here. Ma'am, >> come here. Come here. >> Come here. This isn't a police matter now. >> All right. And you doing this is not helping you out. >> Okay. >> We're trying to talk to you, but unless you talk to us, you're going to push it one way. All right. >> Where's the baby at right now? >> All right. Let's go. Let's go. Do it. >> Yeah. Is anybody else in here? >> Walk. Put yourself down and walk outside. [Music] Hold on. Hold on. >> Everything is fine with her. Everything is not fine with the woman downstairs. >> Okay, >> you have to pull it to the left a little to shut it. >> Hold on. >> Is your address current on this or is this where you stay? >> This is where I stay for right now until the 19th and then I'm moving. >> 458 6527 Florida. Charlie 620 33600 0876 1048 >> Harley. >> Yes. >> Okay. Harley, you said you know why we're here. What happened today? >> I went to work. >> Where you work at? >> I work at Culver's. >> Okay. When did you go to work? >> 6:00. >> Okay. >> I left around like maybe 5:45. >> Okay. >> I went to work. >> Okay. Well, then >> what >> what happened then? >> I worked until about I think it was 1 12 12:01. No, 12ish. Um came here, took like an hour nap. And I went and picked her up, went to Fallen Creek, came here, laid her down. No, gave her a bath, laid her down for a nap, and went to go get food. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> Okay. That's who's in the room right now? >> Yes. >> Who is watching her right now? >> Why did you leave her alone just now? cuz I was just going across the street to get food. >> Why didn't you take her with you? >> Cuz she was asleep. >> So So you think >> I wake up at 1:00 a.m. in the morning? >> You think your your your negligence? >> First of all, do you know what the Florida state statute is for child neglect? Because this absolutely meets the requirements for it >> under me. No, we're we're talking about Florida state statute >> and the safety of this apartment comp or hotel complex, whatever. >> So, I don't think you're understanding though. We're not talking about somebody intervening as a medical emergency. Somebody to go, "Hey, something's wrong." Who is going to respond and go, "Hey, we need to do something about this." >> Okay. So, what's the difference of being in a house and her being in a different room? What's the difference in that? >> You are in the house with her. She is under your supervision. So the matter of the fact is she was alone. >> No, come back. >> Okay, we don't want you. >> This is good. >> Hey Siri. Patrick, hang up. Hey Siri, >> you got anything on you? >> No. >> No weapons on you? Nothing like that? >> No. >> Okay. >> We're not playing these [ __ ] games. >> Hey Siri, >> you understand me? >> All right. So, >> call UCI. >> Calli. >> All right. So, okay. So, >> hey Siri. >> Hey, that that's enough of that. You understand? We're trying to figure something out. You are being difficult with us right now. How old? >> She's one year old. >> Can a one-year-old take care of themselves in a room alone? So we placed in restraints because this is a criminal act. Okay? Just like you were trying to be smart. Be like, "Oh, what's the difference between this and that?" Because you're going to go to jail. Okay? That's the difference. All right? You want to act smart. You want to be smart about it. That's fine. We're not here to play games with you. Okay. >> 54 for now, but if you want to be 51, you can. >> Okay. Okay. What's your mom's name? >> Johnson. >> Do you know her phone number? >> Yes, sir. 81. >> Where does she live? >> She live in Lake City. Okay. >> Does she have a way to come over here? >> Okay. Do >> you have any other family members here? Anybody that could take the baby to mom? >> No. >> Is there a way the mom could get here? No. >> By asking a friend, asking someone to come over here. >> What's your What's your address on Five Points? >> 8K. It's on the mainway. >> What's the address? >> Thank you. January 441. >> So, so going back to your question, do you know the difference now between leaving a baby in a house and leaving a baby here? >> Yes or no? >> Okay. I hope you understood that and I hope you answered your own question. Okay. You're just going to leave and take off. Ain't no difference when you can't hear the baby in the house. You can articulate that, but you just left. You're not in the freaking kitchen. You're not in the freaking lobby. You left the property. Does that answer your freaking question? Cuz that was the dumb analogy I ever heard in my life. It's the difference between leaving a baby in the other room while you're in the kitchen. You can't hear? Are you serious? >> Please don't say me to jail. >> So, the reason why I detained you is because I needed to show you the difference between you leaving a baby here while you're in the kitchen. Yes, sir. >> All right. Do you understand the difference now? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. That's a crime in the state of Florida. You cannot do that to call for help if they need it. Okay. >> Yes, sir. That's the difference. I'm not playing no games with you because that little attitude that you got, I'm not going to reciprocate that. Do you see if we'll take good? >> I can get her dad to come get her, please. >> Oh, now you can get Okay, get somebody. >> I need my friend. >> Do you know his number? >> He's not going to He can't answer his phone. >> Where does he live? >> He lives in Jacksonville, but he works in >> We're going to wait for a sergeant to get here. We're going to explain to her the situation explain to her what's going on. Okay? The reason why you're detained right now, you're not under arrest, but the reason why we had to pay your attainment. Okay? The reason why we're here is not because we just chose 225 nights in for no reason. We're here for a call for service about a baby being left here alone. You confirm that by opening the door. You let us in. The baby was indeed by herself. Okay. You thought it was okay to do that and you wanted to know the difference about leaving the baby in the room while someone's in the kitchen. This is the difference. You get place in handcuffs because this is not the same analogy you gave me. Do you understand that? Do we have a clear understanding that you are breaking a Florida statute law? You are indeed you just committed a crime. Do you understand that? Which is what child? What what you said you weren't that you were not child neglect. Okay. That's what that's what you are. That's what we just did right now. Okay. That's what you just did. We're not just making this up. That's what you just did. You know on the way. >> Yeah. She's on the way. >> Yeah. >> Where baby at? >> She's fine. She's sleeping. Please don't. >> So >> explained to her, you can't just go out, get something to eat, eat the baby here without supervision and come back. She gave me the example of what's the difference between the baby being in another room while I'm in the kitchen. So I detained her. That's the difference. >> Yeah. I had to. >> Yeah. >> And then she tried. She resisted a little bit, >> but wait till Sarge gets here. Kind of explain to her the basis of it. Mom don't have access. She lives in five apartments, >> which is not hard to try to get access to get over here. If there's a mean, there's a way. >> Worst case, we'll just transport the child back to the station and then have a family member come pick their >> Is she 10? >> She's detained. >> Okay. Yeah. about this. >> So, I'm going to see if I can make 1025 with mom cuz mom was taking care of her before. Mom's in five points. >> She was working. >> I'm supposed to talk to >> I'm going to go do that. See if I can contact mom. If I can't get nothing from mom, we'll go to the next step. >> You got I got you with me. I'm just going to go downstairs to do it. Okay. >> Yeah. You sure everything that in the statement is the truth, the whole truth about truth? >> Yes, I do. >> You just sign right here for me, please. >> All right. What's your question? >> Okay. So her car, are y'all going to take it or do you have to call to get it towed or or is your family coming to get it or >> Why would you tow a vehicle? >> Was she getting arrested or >> I'm saying she's still here for Wednesday, right? >> Her room is >> okay. >> Yeah. Ain't no reason to tow her vehicle. >> Unless she stays past Wednesday and she don't come back, nobody comes back. then you guys as a property representative do what you need to do. But if she's here till Wednesday and she's here to Wednesday. >> Yeah. So >> the vehicle wasn't involved in a crime or anything like that. She probably might get out tomorrow or later on like early in the morning. We might bomb out. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So she she's not going to jail like for days or anything. >> Okay. We wasn't sure if >> so I just so she's going to jail for that child but because most of the sin from her attitude >> and how it had a nasty attitude every time she called in >> from her perception she didn't think it she thought it was okay to leave the baby here while she was when she totally left the property is when I called y'all at the time before she left from the time she totally left out the room to the time she came back on the property. M >> the child had that done been in the room an hour by itself. >> What she actually left the property, that's when I called y'all. >> Okay. So like like >> 7:27 was when she walked out the door. >> So I So I explained to her, she thought it was uh no different than her being in the kitchen while the baby's in the baby room, >> not in a public building. >> So I explained to her, "Let me show you the difference." >> Stop wearing her handcuffs. All right. Well, thank you guys. Do it. [Music] >> Yeah. Driver side. >> I got one right. >> I got one. You have underwear. Raise your arms up just a little bit. Squeeze your legs apart for me. Lean up against the car if you have to. Lift this foot up. Kick it straight back. >> Step back into your shoe and do the other foot the same way. Do you have anything on you right now that would be considered contraband at the jail? >> Not on you. Okay. Harley was cuffed and taken away, facing charges for child neglect.
