hello my name is PC Rick Flynn youth engagement officer for Croydon today we are here with our girls from Beyond the court the girls today will be taught self-defense tactics we have the police horses here today and we're also holding an engagement talk with the girls to hear their honest and open opinions on the Police Service we're using netball as a vehicle for engagement because we believe we can build these relationships much better through sport the young people can see police as humans having a laugh and building those much needed relationships hello my name's Lexi I'm from the Metropolitan policies mounted Branch based in lewisham we brought two of our horses along with us today that's Rupert and Marla and they've been able to have a little strokes and Pat and find out what we do in our day-to-day job I'm Alex Adams I'm the sergeant for the Youth engagement team so one of the sessions that we were covering today was the self-defense side so when we do our officer safety training just to give them a very brief insight into the training that we get and why we get it thank you could see their confidence grow from the very Point we've started to the end point and this is all about building their self-confidence and empowering them to go on further so at the end of this project is these girls having a sense of well-being inclusion to give them more confidence not only out on the street but in school and in the workplace as well [Music]
