Yeah, it was going to be a 38. Basically, we could take her for that. Obstruction. Obstruction. Uh, yeah. Yeah. I never got a chance to tell her she was trespassed. Had her come walk to me. She started taking off up the stairs. Yelled at her Heather, "Come back. Come back and back." I met her at the top of stairs and I was like, "Come here." And she started backing up, backing up, backing up. And then she wouldn't turn to take off the run. So, I grabbed her. So, um, yeah, cuz the hospital will just let her go. Yeah. Unless we do a baker, but No, I said we just take her on the resisting. Okay. Take her down the I checked in yesterday. She came in this afternoon to extend three more nights. So while I was doing that, she was making racial slur towards this black guy. I was going to check in. Um she started to get in his face and before he attacked her, he tell me say do something with her. You understand? Yeah. I check him in. She still was saying whatever she had to say. And then when I draw the line was we had two elderly white guys came in. She threw her room key at them and told them to come to her room. This was all before we got here. Just before we got here, because we had another set of police officer came in and we tried to get her to open the door. That's why she put this up and she she didn't leave the room. So, they end up leaving outside. I locked the door so she couldn't use the key to get back in. I just needed to get outside. And then the same guy that um the the black guy Yeah. He saw the police went to get something, so he ran over there, called him, and that's when all of this happened. She did rent the room for tonight, so it's at least got somewhere safe to be for tonight where it's secure. Okay. All right. All right. No problem. All right. Thank you. Yes, ma'am. I'll get out and walk for myself. Great. [ __ ] for you, but awesome. Make you famous and right here. Is that what they tell you? I'd prefer you walk yourself. I don't We don't want to have to walk. You prefer me to walk myself when he was back there and you caused all these physical Well, you you're resisting him. You can't do that. You sir, come on. Come on. You ever meet the devil? You're going to make a you don't worry about it. At the jail, she told the nurse she wanted to herself, but just moments later, she began laughing, making it seem like she hadn't been serious. Hey everyone, it's Trent, prior deputy sheriff patrol sergeant and canine handler. Hotels do have the right to refuse service to anyone, especially if they're going to be creating a nuisance or committing crimes, which it sounds like this suspect was doing even prior to this officer's arrival. She had thrown a key card at a couple different guests. And if that hit them, that's obviously battery. Also, she was trying to open car doors and touching tires and doing weird things to vehicles outside in the parking lot, which can be vehicle tampering, which is another crime. And either way, she was just asked to leave. They didn't Sounds like the hotel manager didn't even want to press charges for anything else. And getting trespassed is a very simple process. As a law enforcement officer, you basically just tell the suspect, "Look, the property owner or whoever is going to be acting on the property owner's behalf doesn't want you here anymore. So, you need to leave. And if you come back, you are liable to be arrested at that point. And then obviously, if they're refusing to leave altogether, then of course you can arrest them and take them to jail. But it's a very basic crime." Now, what happened after that is a little bit different from what I saw in the video versus how this officer explained it, but I wasn't there. And not everything is captured on a single body cam for sure. However, what I do know is that when this officer told the suspect just to come down the flight of stairs to talk to him and she said no, that is automatically delaying a law enforcement officer. So, that is going to be a crime right up front regardless of if she tried to turn around and run away or whatever else she was doing at the top of the stairs. She was continuously backing up and backing away from this officer when he when she was not free to leave. She was detained so that he could complete his investigation. And I don't know what her deal was because it's not notated in the report. They didn't locate any illegal drugs on her person or in her belongings in her hotel room or at least that's not shown in the report. And so I don't know if she was under the influence of something. She just has some mental health issues or it's a combination of different things. But that's going to be it for this one. See you guys in the next one. She was charged with trespassing after warning and resisting without violence, but remains innocent until proven guilty. [Music]
