Charles Police in Illinois responded to 300 North Riverside Avenue after Tricom central dispatch received a cellular crash notification officers arrived to find a 2016 Nissan Juke that had veered off the road and collided with a short cement wall surrounding the Garden area of an electric substation the driver identified as Maria was contacted at the scene despite officers repeatedly telling her not to Maria kept trying to start her car which was disabled due to deployed airbags and a triggered fuel safety cutof when asked where she was Maria mistakenly claimed she was in South Elgen though she was actually in St Charles about 14 mil away concerned for her safety and the possibility of a head injury officers called called for the fire department to assist while also suspecting a nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08% as a result Maria was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol driving Under the Influence with a blood alcohol content of 08 or more improper
