Her arm patrol's behind your back. You're You're under arrest for fleeing and eluding law enforcement. >> What? >> Police are investigating a traffic accident until a Mustang comes ripping past at full speed. An officer motions for the driver to stop, but instead of slowing down, she accelerates and blasts right by him. >> I walked out, flagged you down, told you to stop, and you rapidly accelerated away from me. >> She weaves around multiple vehicles in a no-passing zone, refuses to brake, and even accelerates so aggressively the officer has to move to avoid being hit. >> Sir, I was almost in the roadway. The reason I didn't go all the way in the roadway is because she was going so fast I didn't want to get hit. >> And then, just minutes later, the car is found parked at a friend's house. Officers track down the driver, and what happens next isn't an apology. It's pure attitude. >> I wasn't going 60. That's a hearsay. >> Stay to the end because the way this escalates doesn't just end in charges, it ends with her future nursing career going up in smoke. >> So, you just totally screwed your whole nursing degree, everything. You just did it because you're being terrible. >> On October 3rd, 2025 at approximately 10:50 a.m. in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on Pioneer Trail, an officer working a hit-and-run crash suddenly hears a white 2024 Mustang screaming up the road. 19-year-old Tara Ashley Palmieri. He gestures for her to stop, and instead she floors it, blasting past him and every command to pull over. Minutes later, police find Tara at a friend's house where she gives them a full attitude and ends up ruining her nursing career. >> The police department. >> 911 central. >> See him anywhere? 10-15 Delta 31 10-15 Delta >> Hi there. Do you guys know whose white Mustang this is? I'll I'll let him know in a second. Okay. Yeah, can you have him step out? Hi. Do I look familiar? Yeah, I know. Yeah. Here I am but change my mind and back. You're You're under arrest for fleeing and eluding law enforcement. I walked out, flagged you down, told you to stop, and you rapidly accelerated away from me. Yes, ma'am. It's all on body cam. Nope, I walked I walked out of the road and was telling you to stop. Yeah, correct. I was telling you to stop. It's all on body cam. You're under arrest for fleeing and eluding law enforcement. Come here. Yeah, you can call her mom. Is that is that her phone right there? 901 to central. I have a female 10-15. Got a female for a search. And I'll be at 2793 Neverland Drive. I am a law enforcement officer, fully uniformed, telling you to stop because you're passing all those cars in a double yellow. You No, you passed multiple. It doesn't matter. I You still fled law enforcement. And then you rapidly accelerated as you went by me. You didn't stop, didn't do anything, didn't even hit the brakes. No, you weren't. Can I talk to someone else? It was just me there. I don't know who you want to talk to. Who do you want to talk to? Yeah, he's on his way. You're more than welcome to, but that's fleeing and eluding law enforcement, so. She can have a seat if she wants, okay? >> I'm calling that there's Get rid of that chair, this is >> She's not answering. >> Does she have a work? >> Yeah, it doesn't matter. >> Go and sit down for me. Do you have anything on you cuz I have a female that's going to come search you? >> No. >> Okay. Um >> 12 minutes >> Huh? >> 12 minutes >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. So, yeah, no, I literally was at a clubhouse on Pioneer. I heard her car accelerating rapidly. So, I look and she's in the middle of passing vehicles coming back over I'm in the road. Hands up telling her stop. Clearly look like a law enforcement officer. No brakes, no no lights, nothing. She just keeps going, guns it. So, that's fleeing and eluding all day long. >> Okay. Can we go to court for this? >> Absolutely. You're going to be going to court no matter what. >> And you said you have it on dash cam? >> I have it on body cam. >> Okay. >> Even better cuz I was right there. >> Oh, okay. >> So, what's your name? >> Tara Palmieri >> Palmieri? >> Yes. >> T A R A your first name? >> P A L >> Yeah, I ran it. >> M I D I R I >> P A L M I D I R I What's your date of birth? I know, I agree fleeing law enforcement is pretty ridiculous. I absolutely agree. >> Hey Dad, they're arresting me for fleeing and eluding. I passed in a double line and then officer came I said I'm getting arrested because an officer said I was fleeing and eluding. I was driving on Pioneer Trail. He came out and ran in front of like he he half ran in front of my like he didn't even fully run in front of my car. And then um now I'm getting arrested for it because I parked at the because he said I was fleeing, but he wasn't even behind me with lights on or anything. >> Doesn't matter. Don't need to be. Thank you. I absolutely don't need to have lights sirens activated. I'm a fully uniformed law enforcement officer telling you to stop. >> Can I talk to him? >> Officer Rhea >> Okay. >> Hey there, it's Officer Rear, Huntington Beach Police Department. Oh, okay. Good, good. So, literally, I'm in the middle of the road and I'm a fully uniform police officer telling her to stop. Not only did she not even apply the brakes, she rapidly accelerates away from from me to the point I have to run, get jump in my car, which was parked several hundred feet away cuz I was investigating a hit-and-run crash. And now all of a sudden she's gone nowhere, so then I obviously find the car and make contact with her. So, I don't need to have lights and sirens on behind or anything like that. I'm a fully uniform police officer. I was giving clear hand signals to stop. I have a witness who was the victim of my hit-and-run crash who watched the entire thing. So, you know, of course that meets statutory requirements for for fleeing and eluding. I I I don't mean to be a jerk about it or anything like that, but that's that's where we're at, okay? >> Um how far did she go from when you tried to gesture her to stop? >> over a mile. I mean, she's over at 2719 or 2793 Neverland Drive and this was at Clubhouse and Pioneer when I was telling her to stop her vehicle. So, she didn't try to pull off the road down the street, nothing like that. >> Uh so, what what do you got? Have you contacted your mom yet? >> She won't answer. >> Okay, so you're going to So, you you'll probably be in in jail for the weekend then. >> Yeah, okay. >> So. >> Because uh you're not going to get get out right away. Why were you going that fast down Pioneer Trail? >> I I passed one car. I passed one car cuz he was going like 30 and I passed him. >> Okay, so when he when he waved at you >> was a double yellow line, so I shouldn't have. Cuz I didn't he >> Hey, quiet. Quiet or you'll stay in that place for a week. Listen to me. Do you hear me? >> Yes, sir. >> Do you hear me? >> Yes. >> So, one of us is going to have to You're good. Appreciate it. >> So, why didn't you pull over at the time when he waved you down to stop? Why didn't you stop? >> Cuz it wasn't like he was I I didn't even I really didn't even know. I just saw a person in white and black and then >> Doing this. Pulling out >> one hand out and it wasn't like he was in front of my car like that. He was just He like literally was from the side, like completely to the side. I wasn't going 60. That's hearsay. I was not going 60. From 30 to 60, I can't just do that when I'm in the other lane going over to the other side. He didn't. He didn't. He came over and found my car and pulled me >> It's all on body cam, sir. I was almost in the roadway. The reason I didn't go all the way in the roadway is cuz she was going so fast I didn't want to get hit by her cuz obviously I could see that she was not slowing down. >> What he thinks. >> Okay. Terry, you're being so cocky. >> I'm actually an instructor for speed measurement, so smart. >> I'm not laughing. >> I wouldn't be laughing. It's a felony. You committed a felony. Don't laugh at that. >> Yeah, I mean you you're being cocky. You're not even being polite. You're not even using manners. >> Yeah, this has been her the entire time, sir. >> I know. That's what I don't get with her. It's just totally ridiculous. So, you you don't understand what you just did. You really don't. >> Oh, you do, do you? Really? Like how how do you understand what you're doing cuz you're being a smart ass the whole time to me, too. So, I can only imagine how you're speaking to an officer. So, your nursing stuff is going to be screwed up now, too, because you don't have no damn manners. And you know what? It's going to take something like this to wake you up now. And now you're done because you're so god damn arrogant and cocky the whole damn time when you could have talked to the officer normally, but you didn't. You had to be a real jerk, didn't you? >> This is Tara. >> I know you're Tara. You can't [ __ ] me. He's got the body cam on. So, you just totally screwed your whole up. Nursing degree, everything. You just did it because you you're being Tara. Invincible, but guess what? You're going to spend a weekend in jail, and you'll see how invincible you are. And you know what? It might teach you a lesson now, maybe. You know? Cuz you just don't listen. >> Did Did you hear that? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. So, when you get to jail, you get one phone call. >> her instructions. >> So, you better hurry up and figure out who you're going to call you know, to to get you out of jail. So, when you call your mom and start at her and stuff, she going to make you stay. You call me, I'll make you stay too, because I'm not putting up with this You know, you you got an attitude, Tara. >> I copy. This is Officer Goodson 4868. >> It's ridiculous. You know, you could have probably been polite to the officer from the get-go, and you probably wouldn't be in the situation you are right now. And I bet if you asked the officer that, your cocky ass just probably wouldn't have put you in that position right there. >> I can't hear you. >> All right. Um she's getting searched right now by a female deputy. Uh do you have anything else for her? If not, we're going to we're going to load her up and do some paperwork, okay? Yes, sir. No problem. Bye. >> Um >> Do you want to call mom? >> 4868 if I could please. 4868 >> That's Officer Goodson. Do you need your mace? >> Yeah, that's fine. Can I put my shoes back on or just >> Do you want them back on? >> I don't know. >> She already searched her and stuff. Okay. Thank you. >> Do you need your wallet for money to get to your mom to bail you out? >> Back to the PD and then I'll just jump in a pool car and take her to the branch after my paperwork. >> Okay. >> Uh so, I got to calculate it, but it'll probably be like 2,500. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> And then, not That's not the >> For how long >> No, she has to do a 10% of that. >> 10% of that, so >> So And and and you're not going to be If you can post bail, you're not going to be sitting there all weekend. Do you have an older brother? >> Yeah, Nathan. >> Yeah. I I know him very well, yep. All right. Um Unless you want to talk to Mom, we'll we'll go over here, okay? All right. Actually, so you got jewelry on? Um do you want to leave that with them and not bring it into the jail like the earrings and stuff and your necklace? Cuz they're cuz they're going to take it all off when you get there. >> I Can I take it out? >> Yeah. So we'll we'll do you want Is this What are you to her? Is she friend, sister? >> Yes, I'm >> Do you want Do you want her to Do you want her to take everything off and leave it with her? >> Okay, well we can keep the earrings in. >> Are the earrings going to get taken out? >> Yeah, but they'll go on prisoner property at the branch jail. They'll >> Well, I don't I'd rather her have them. >> Okay. So if I uncuff you, you're not going to take them out, you're not doing anything? All right. This is This is me being very nice by doing this, so Yep. And then [snorts] if you're cool with me, I'll put them in the front, that way you don't have your hands behind your back the entire time, all right? Hi, how are you? Oh, I'm good. >> Oh, Mom, she We have a problem. I'm going to let her talk to you. >> I'm getting arrested because I cheated an officer. Um Uh She's going to need uh somebody to post a bond. >> Anything else in her jewelry? Okay. >> She's going to end up going off of 92 out there. >> Volusia County Branch Jail. >> Jail. that in Daytona? >> Yep. >> If you If I don't know if you have the money or if you need her debit card. Do you have money? I don't know. But as long as you have contact with >> Have you ever been arrested before for anything? Okay. >> Or you can read the charges and it'll get done faster for All right. Bye, Mom. I'll pick that up. >> Anything else? >> Yeah, I will. I'm sorry. >> No, you're fine. Like I said, I don't want anything to get misplaced and all of a sudden here out jewelry or anything like that. So. So, go ahead and put your hands like this together up here up front. There you go. Just a little bit further out. You're good. I'm being very nice. >> Cuz normally they'll go behind you. Do I have to pop these off? >> Well, just I mean I don't think it'll be too big of an issue. I'm double locking it that way they don't cinch down to a real flare. >> Yeah, thank you. >> We're going to go to his vehicle right here, okay? >> Cell phone? >> For what? >> This one right here. Any side you want her on? Yeah, I don't want you to soil my seat belt. I'm just going to buckle you in. Um You just want to take her to the PD. I'll I'll head that way, too. Um and I'll just see if Dwayne can sit here for the tow. Um >> Five oh, thank you. You're welcome. >> So, appreciate it. And then I'll get an arrangement to get in that pull car. >> For what? >> I'll get an arrangement to get in that pull car. So. Thanks, dude. >> Tara was arrested for fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer, which is a felony in the state of Florida. A felony conviction can prevent someone from obtaining a nursing license in Florida, which is why this case could have serious long-term consequences beyond the arrest itself. Her bond was set at $2,500, and she was released after a family member posted bail. Her court date was scheduled for December 3rd, 2025, and as of now, there doesn't appear to be any additional publicly available information on the outcome of the case. It's unclear whether the charge was later reduced or resolved differently, especially given that there's no known prior criminal history.
