But what isn't nice is that the driver is still on the run. But officers aren't done yet. A key clue left behind in the car is about to put them right on his trail. I'm going to also need Milwaukee to my location for the accident report. I went through a fence before went down the hill. >> For the time being >> That's right. You also contact leader. Like, I'm I'm in my hotel room. I ain't doing [ __ ] wrong. Like, why the freak am I in handcuffs? >> All right. So, we're going to like we're going to call Sherwood. Did they talk to you before? >> Sherwood police? >> No, I don't know Sherwood. >> My partner, Sherwood of Jackson PD, had information that you were involved with a chase, something like that. And she said if we get a if we get in contact with you, that we're supposed to detain you and contact Sherwood and see if they want to come talk to you. >> know what to do. What's really going on? Cuz first, like, put yourself in my shoes. You take my car, that's cool. I'm not tripping about it. I'm here, I'm waiting on my people to get me a ticket that I'm still close by the airport so I could go back home. I had to go see the see me in a high speed chase. If that rental was in a high speed chase and I was in it, you should have kept me right then and there. You know what I'm saying? >> Hm? No, I get it. I get it. >> [ __ ] you release me just to keep antagonizing me like this? >> I get it, man. But I just I don't know much about it. >> [clears throat] >> So, big or little guy? >> I seen the key. >> You seen a key? >> It looked like a card. >> It's a card. >> [ __ ] please. >> Cuz you have to have a search warrant to like come through like my like what is the purpose of this? Are you answering that? >> Yeah. >> Can I speak on my phone? >> No. No. I'll I'll keep it I'll keep it for you. I'll put it in your pocket, but no. Not right now. >> [snorts] >> So, why can't I use my phone? Cuz I can let my people know I'll be in the station. >> Well, it's our it's for our safety, too. We don't know who you're talking to or what you're telling them. >> I'm right here. And you're right here listening to what I'm telling them. >> I know, but we want to kind of surprise us and come, you know, end up showing up unexpected. >> Okay, can you at least answer my people and tell them I'm in the station cuz they keep calling me. I'm pretty sure they're concerned about why I'm not answering. I was just on the phone with them. >> No, I don't want to tell them anything right now. I'm just trying to hold my person upstairs. That's >> All right, can we go walk up there so I can get myself out of handcuffs? >> No, just just hang tight here cuz they got something else going on upstairs. It's with your the other partners up there. >> So, you said you want to question me about a high speed chase. What what description did they give of me from a high speed chase and I'm not even from here? That's not even making no sense. You know what I'm saying? >> I know. What's your birthday? >> You guys should have all that information. You guys have my last name, Oliver. You should have all that information. >> Kelsey? Right? Okay. >> Who is this gentleman? >> Looks like a sergeant to me. I don't know if you saw this, but that's how they met you and we'll see if he is the guy they're talking about. >> You said they said I'm the guy they're talking about? >> Sherwood wants you. Yeah. Sherwood probably has to have a word with you. >> You said they said I'm the guy? >> No, I'm showing them why you we are here and detaining you for Sherwood. Sherwood wants you for high speed chase. I'm just telling you what I know. >> Man, this [ __ ] is freaking crazy, bro. High speed chase in my car? Cuz if it's in a rental car, why they treat me like when you know what I'm saying? >> The stolen silver Jeep Wagoneer, which was wanted in connection with multiple smash and grab theft and fraud operations, was significantly damaged during the crash into the Milwaukee River. It had been rented from Enterprise and never returned. A search of the vehicle found multiple credit cards belonging to different people, United Healthcare cards, and a marijuana grinder. A search of the passenger's purse found bags of suspected marijuana and pills that tested positive for methamphetamine. The passenger, identified as Kachita, was charged with possession of methamphetamine in Wisconsin and also had an active fugitive warrant out of Pennsylvania. According to Wisconsin court records, Kachita's methamphetamine [music] charge was dismissed on the prosecutor's motion. Kachita waived extradition and was moved to Pennsylvania, where court records show she later pleaded guilty to a separate disorderly conduct charge. The driver, identified as Kelsey, was [music] charged with two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of operating a vehicle to flee or elude an officer causing bodily harm or property damage, and resisting or obstructing an officer. Ultimately, all charges filed against Kelsey were dismissed. He is presumed innocent. Separately, Florida Department of Corrections records indicate Kelsey Oliver is currently on felony probation out of Broward County for burglary of an unoccupied structure and possession of burglary tools.
