He is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Most people don't realize this, but when suspects flee a fight with children inside the car, the charges just don't stay traffic related. In many jurisdictions, that instantly escalates into felony child endangerment because the parent has now turned a routine traffic stop into a life-threatening gamble with their own kid safety. It is legally recognized as putting minors directly into harm's way. Because I wouldn't just see a reckless driver. I see a parent playing with the lives of their kids for a chance to escape. But most people don't see is how often suspects justify themselves later with the same tired excuses. I didn't want my kids to see me get arrested or I panic. But that justification is just hollow. There's also a ripple effect into the course because judges and prosecutors take these cases more seriously because the recklessness doesn't just stop with the crime itself. It bleeds into child welfare. And many times child protective services gets pulled in and what started as a traffic stop ends with a custody review. And a parent's attempt to avoid embarrassment ends up costing them far more than a citation ever would. And I will leave you with this. When a parent flees or fights with kids in the car, they're not just resisting police, they're betraying the very people they're supposed to protect.
