Hard left. He faced charges of corruption by threat against a public servant, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, indecent exposure, and disorderly conduct. Hey everyone, it's Trent, prior deputy sheriff patrol sergeant, and canine handler. And right up front, based on my training and experience, I'm going to go ahead and speculate that we have an individual that likely used way too much in conjunction with some serious mental health issues. And that is never a good combination. And it can be incredibly dangerous for law enforcement that go to these types of calls. So, initially, this is a very basic call for service. This guy's been blurring his music all night, disturbing the peace, and obviously he has his miscellaneous stuff from inside of his house just hanging out in the middle of the roadway, blocking the road, which needs to obviously get addressed. Now, when I started watching this video up front, the hair is even on my neck started to stand up. And clearly, these cops are well trained and have been to similar circumstances. It's like an additional sense that cops have when you've experienced certain things. So, right up front, there's something going on with this guy. Okay, we hear the music. We see all the stuff scattered around. And usually that's not a good sign. So, we see the US Marine Corps symbol on the side of his truck. He's walking in and out of the house in camo fatigues. He could be prior military. He could not be. Sometimes they are, sometimes they're not in these situations. And a lot of times, guys like this will have access to firearms. And in certain circumstances, we've seen historically they have caused shootouts with law enforcement. So, these officers are doing the smart thing. They're kind of standing back assessing the situation. They try to start some sort of dialogue with this guy up front just like, "Hey, can you please get your stuff out of the road? We don't want to throw it away." This, you know, deputy asked him several times very nicely and he's just not having it right. He's off in La La Land. He doesn't fully understand what's transpiring. He has that sign in his front yard that is against Rick Staley, who is the sheriff of that county. So, he could potentially be anti-law enforcement, potentially adding to the danger element in that situation. As we see, the female deputy goes and tries to pick up his belongings just to clear the road since he's not going to do it. And then he threw a glass bottle at her. Thankfully, it didn't hit her, but it did break near her and come close to doing so. So, they call for additional units as you're going to do because right there, an additional crime has been committed. He is just escalating this thing for no good reason. And sometimes that happens when you got mental health stuff going on and you are under the influence of a controlled substance. And then once additional units arrive, they try to figure out a game plan. How are we going to deal with this? I think you have a supervisor asking her, "What crimes do we have?" So, you want to assess what crimes do we currently have? Is it going to be worth our safety and the liability issues to go now and arrest this guy based on the crimes that he has committed. So, you're going to want to have something that's going to meet that criteria that's going to make it worth it to do so. They determined that yes, that is going to be the case. They obtained an arrest warrant and search warrant for his residence. And then they need additional units to respond to tactfully make that approach because they are all under the same impression like hey this guy is probably armed. They saw him with a holster at one point in time and I believe the female deputy stated that she heard him say that I have something and it's loaded but she didn't directly hear that it was a firearm. They're just making that assumption. So and unfortunately you have to go through this entire thing. Get the SWAT team out there. Get the Bearcat do all of this when it was a very simple call up front. But that again is what happens and I have been to similar calls like this before and fortunately this incident ended without anybody getting injured and that is always a win. And we see this guy in the back of the patrol car while the video is rolling and clearly he has some major issues that he needs to address. But that's going to be on him.
