exactly who you were too Friday October 18th 2024 leeburg Florida police receive a call from Walmart security at 2501 Citrus Boulevard reporting that around 9:40 a.m. a woman had entered the store and then left with a card full of unpaid merchandise the descriptions of the suspect are clear but more footage from the security cameras is needed to track the exact direction that the thief went so the officers was able to pinpoint the suspect's location Jaye Casey was caught unloading items from the stolen card at a campsite where she had been hiding tucked away in the brush the exact amount of they didn't have everything listed they just put 740 for the shopping cart I mean that's how much shopping carts cost and then they put like the monsters and put up to 750 so I'm going to need to get a receipt for all that stuff shopping cart is 740 bucks $740 is how much shopping cart goes for yep so if they steal the shopping cart and even couple items they can identify them it's automatically felony right so they walk out and she left the parking lot with it obviously still wearing the same clothing from absolutely and I got the Bonnet thing right there it's in the photo I took a picture of it I'm going to throw it in evidence too I even got the cap so it appears that Casey had been seen by security through the cameras pushing a shopping cart full of store merchandise she made her way across the parking lot and left the Walmart property moments later she would be captured on camera Crossing us27 heading towards her Refuge the officers recognize her and it's not the first time they've dealt with her in a situation like this I Know Travis is going to know this way she went the transient guy over here I'm like I know if if she came this way he's going to know which way she went so I was going to see if she went through there Travis wasn't there and I seen her stand right by his tent shopping cart right there I'm like okay literally exact match we already knew who it was anyways by the squad cuz we're all familiar with her but uh yeah felony I mean they want to excuse uh she said somebody that um possibly committed suicide was um uh had was going to pay for it she said added up a female officer who had investigated her before spoke to her to try and understand her true motives behind the theft but nothing was going to be easy I like eh I knew exactly where she all her property Walmart thought it might have been merchandise this is all the stuff she sto I got a photo yep um so they'll just need to get a training receipt the only thing they put on the training receipt is the shopping cart which they estimated at $740 just the carart itself and then they put seven of these why didn't sheer take the freaking car yeah and that's all her property I have not went through yet um but yeah if you can get me a new training receipt with the shopping cart and all the merchandise that would be ideal the the training receipt I have right now just shows leave the stolen items at the campsite she's then arrested on appropriate charges but this time it will be different from the previous encounters you're going to jail in absolutely hop in hop in for addition to the items in the cart Casey is also wearing multiple stolen clothing items seven t-shirts were found amongst the clothing that didn't belong to her it's not the first time the woman had been caught in a situation like this nor is it the first time she'd been under the influence of drugs however unlike before Casey is now an adult and she will definitely face jail time appreciate it after conducting one last more precise inventory of the stolen goods an asset protection employee confirmed the total value to be $1,160 Shaye Casey age 21 was arrested for grand theft and transported to Lake County jail with a bond set at $2500 she also has a criminal history from her juvenile years
