man who violently hits him on the head with a brick the situation was completely aggressive and the officers had to subdue the attacker before it was too late I'm Tyler and this is your daily dose of subdue the attacker and place him in handcuffs after a significant struggle the man identified as William ml had seriously injured the officer and he was in a state of Rage completely out of control and officers could not allow him to break free under any circumstances yeah yeah he a he was a citizen help out he says he's good doesn't need after what is the reference I was just talking to my managed to properly handcuff the attacker and check that he had no weapons or dangerous objects they then placed them into the patrol car to proceed with an arrest the police began to receive private complaints about the altercation as Mish had been live streaming the events with his cell phone to the side he had been recording from moments before the attack the attacker had premeditated disinterest in what was taking place the situation was serious and the attacker showed no remorse or guilt for his actions which would cost him dearly later in court I'm the supervisor handling the marriage oh nice so I'm just walking home and uh I see him okay so we're sitting there talking okay mind own business you know just talking about family whatever and uh his partner just come up by the side view mirror of the car sure and um he introduced me and we're just like you know just talking at the Clear Blue Sky this black male comes up and coocks his partner did you so can I I'm going to stop right there real quick I'm I have one question is did you see clearly see his hand hit him or was there an object in his hand did you not know no no I don't know if there was an object in his hand okay he just hit him on the side of the head okay and they go down on the sidewalk okay as they go down on the sidewalk Michael yeah takes action and is trying to subdue this individual and they were the two of them were uh struggling to get his hands to cuff him okay and I reached down and I said Michael what do you want me to do because I don't want to take action if I don't need to he says he says okay so I reached down cuz the guy was swinging his legs and kicking in a manner to try to continue to hit the cop yes to get away cool and so I reached down and I grabbed his legs okay okay and the uh partner said hey you have my leg too I said okay okay release his leg I'm holding the suspect's legs okay while they take him in custody okay all right yes sir and uh I'm just so you know I'm retired 30 years wi Garten PD so like I'm just like okay what do you want me to do do cuz I know today's climate and everything I just want to make sure that I do the right thing so when you saw the suspect's actions right um or the individual's actions you need them anymore the these two guys no I got their whole stories we'll go um after the initial hit and officer zambo was still dealing with him would you say that his actions were still aggressive like he was attempting to hurt the officers continuous well he was he was when when they went down to the ground and they were attempting to secure him he was resisting trying to you know he was yes he wasn't he wasn't following their instructions you know and stuff so it it just got it just got chaotic there for a moment okay you know what I mean but uh the officers were just trying to cuff him okay and he was resistant yep I appreciate that the main witness testified about what had taken place while he was talking to his nephew one of the officers and his partner McClish appeared and attacked one of the officers without warning the situation began to escalate and the witness along with his nephew separated William from the victim and subdued him until backup arrived and handcuffed him there were no prior incidents not even a previous interaction with the attacker and it was directly an attack without any real motive what had ml been thinking when he had done such a thing sir due to the exposure of your blood and our officer's blood we're going to ask you for consent of your blood sample will you consent to that so that we can know if they're exposed to any kind of diseases yes or no taking a jail you're at jail Bo I need to know if you're going to consent to us taking a blood sample from you so that we can know if we have any dis Jus to worry about no take me jail okay answer my question though yes or no you're at jail okay take that as in I'm you're not going to give us a sample of your blood you already got it you what you already got it we don't got it but put your feet in after a lengthy investigation officers obtained a video of the attacker's live stream and evidence that proved the attack was premeditated William had stated in a video later recorded on his cell phone that he would have killed an officer live on camera William McClish age 29 was found guilty of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and will be sentenced to life in prison along with his other charges resisting an officer with violence aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with great bodily harm and depriving an officer of means of protection and communication
