Classic signs of a drunk driver. No car seats for the kids. She rearended the car in front because she didn't keep a safe distance. And when the officer pressed her for answers, she completely lost it. >> Pick him up. Is he already on his way? I think so. >> Outstanding. >> Yeah. It's what happens when guilt boils over into rage. A common defense mechanism for people who can't control their impulses and he would have known that would be five that the [ __ ] both of you for real. >> Just take it easy. >> No, just don't [ __ ] touch. >> Hey, this is probably going to be use of force if you want to be on your way out here. Uh, it's a signal one crash, but the individual who is driving is being very, very belligerent right now, and she's saying that she's going to beat our ass when we put our hands on her. >> And there's no car seats back there, right? >> No car seats. >> No car seats. Okay. >> They don't need any car seats. >> What's that? >> I said I don't think they use car seats. >> Okay. Yeah, they need car seats at their age. >> So, yeah, like Florida law, they do. They're still >> investigation. Yeah. You're good. You still can't fight. >> You're still >> Angelica had to be physically restrained and placed in the back of a squad car after she kept fighting back. She was screaming, threatening officers, and challenging them every step of the way. Clear signs of panic and total denial of her legal reality. >> No, I ain't going nowhere. I'm not going nowhere. Angelica, >> I'm not going nowhere. >> We're going this way. >> I'm not going nowhere. >> We're going this way. Come on. >> Angelica, Angelica, stop. Just step into the car. Just step into the car. >> I just want to go home. >> Step into the car. >> I just want to go home. >> That's not happening. >> Why? >> Step into the car. >> Why? I got to go. >> I feel so >> Angelica. Angelica, I need you to stop. >> I don't deserve this [ __ ] My anxiety is >> I need you to take deep breaths. >> Like I would just want to go home. >> Angelica, oh my this [ __ ] >> Angelica. >> Angelica pulling over momentarily. >> Then just when it seemed things couldn't get any crazier, she collapsed in the back seat. Officers immediately called for EMS, checked her pulse, and monitored her condition. But when she came to, it was as if nothing happened. She picked up right where she left off. Full-blown chaos like her brain had never hit the reset button. Angelica. Angelica. Angelica. Angelica rescued. >> Angelica. >> She got a pulse. >> Yeah, she has a pulse. She's just not conscious. Angelica, come on. Wake you up. Angelica. Okay. Sit up. Sit up. Sit up. Come on. >> I don't want I don't give a about none of you want to go home. I don't give a [ __ ] about none of you. Like, you guys already made your point with my with the father and my kids. Like all of you, I work two jobs. I work two jobs. I I I don't need my mom or my dad. Like >> she got into a car accident and she kicked him several times. >> What? >> Yeah. We weren't even to the second half of the investigation. >> Man all the toes on there. >> I know. >> You got kicked in the >> Oh, damn. >> Why? She from the beach. Angelica, >> it's not fair. I literally do everything. >> Angelica, [Music] >> Angelica. Angelica. >> The cartel catches all of you and your [ __ ] families. >> Don't touch me. >> Okay, then just walk this way. Then just walk this way. >> Then just tell me. >> Okay, I'll tell you. Just walk this way. That's fine. >> All right. >> Don't touch me. Okay. >> Can I have a shirt? >> After we get inside, they will get you clothes. Okay. >> In the end, Angelica was arrested. A breathalyzer test showed her BAC at 0.15. She now faces multiple charges: DUI, property damage, drunk driving with minors in the car, and resisting arrest with violence. If convicted, she's looking at jail time, fines, license suspension, temporary loss of custody, mandatory alcohol rehab, and parenting classes. On June 30th, 2023, Ohio, while out on routine patrol, an officer spots a Honda Civic swerving across lanes like the road lines didn't exist. Suspecting the driver might be drunk, he quietly tails the car before making the stop, and that's when everything starts to unfold. know the alphabet. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, can you recite the alphabet beginning with the letter J and ending with the letter S? >> J K L M N O G H I J K L M N O P. >> Okay. >> So, the next thing we're going to be doing real quick. >> So, can you watch me real quick? I'm going to demonstrate the next thing that we're going to be doing. Okay. So, what I want for you to do is 1 2 3 4 4 3 2 1 >> 1 2 3 4 4 3 2 1 No one. >> So, I'm going to be completely honest with you. I'm gauging that there's a level of impairment here. >> No, it's like >> So, what we're going to be doing is we're going to be doing some standardized field sorbat testing. I'm going to be testing your eyes. is you're going to do a walk and turn and then stand on one leg for approximately 30 seconds while you're raising your other foot. >> Honestly, I fell off a four-wheeler 6 months ago and I can't stand on my right knee. >> Okay, we'll we'll see what we can do. Um >> I lost the patient. >> I'm I'm very >> I'm very sorry to hear that. However, um like I said, I do believe that there's a level of impairment here and I don't think that you're safe to drive. Okay. So, I need to >> Okay, then don't let me drive. Just let me like drive me home or literally a couple >> seconds. So, so what I want for you to do is just try to breathe, okay? And then just shut off the vehicle and just stand by. Okay, I'll be right back with you. >> The woman behind the wheel seems honest enough. She tells the officer she's had a rough night, just lost a patient, and only had a few drinks. But let's be real, statements like that often get tossed out to pull at heartstrings. Grief is real, but getting behind the wheel, emotionally unstable and under the influence, that's a dangerous mix, and there's no legal excuse for it. >> We'll give you an opportunity of that later. Right now, we're just trying to figure out where we're going to go from here. Okay. And then you can make a phone call. >> I'm literally a nurse and I just want to patiently, you know. >> Okay. So, we're going to be coming over here behind the vehicle. Okay. All right. Are you a diabetic? >> Not that I know of. >> Any recent head injuries? >> Um, I cracked the windshield in my car a couple months ago. >> Okay. Do you have any outstanding issues with that? Vision, um, balance or anything like that? Okay. Have you ever been diagnosed with a natural nestagmas? >> I don't. >> Okay. So, the next thing we're going to be doing is we're going to be doing the walk and turn. >> I I feel like a formula I can't put weight on my right leg. >> Okay. So, are you able This is walking. This is the walking portion that we talked about. This isn't the standing on one leg. So, this is you're going to walk nine heel to toe steps. >> My knee literally gives down on me. >> Okay. I can't. >> Okay. Did you want to try it or No, >> no. >> Okay. Um, and then the other one is the one that you already said that you might not be able to do is a one leg stand. >> Do my left my left leg. My response is to you to call Mike Baki or to call any Cleveland police because I am an RN and I'm literally two doors down. >> Okay. >> From the house I'm going to. >> I get that. But I was behind you and I saw you driving for quite a while and just because you almost made it to your destination tears. >> Okay. Well, it doesn't make it okay for you to be drinking and driving. She struggles through the field sobriety tests, unsteady, disoriented, unable to follow directions. Her emotional pleas don't change the facts. Legally, it's clear she's impaired. The officer remains calm, patient, and sticks to protocol. Professional from start to finish. >> I'm not going to call anybody. tonight and I literally just wanted to drop off my coworker. >> Okay, I'm trying to give you an opportunity to do these tests. Are you willing to perform the tests? >> You're giving me an opportunity to which would cost my license. >> Okay. What I'm trying to do, like I told you from the beginning, is I'm trying to gauge your level of impairment by doing the test. >> Okay. >> It gives me a better understanding of your level of impairment. >> Heal this out. Okay. So, we'll restart. Okay. So, what I want for you to do is imagine Nope. I want you to imagine a line in front of you. Okay. And then I want you to place your left foot on the line. And I want you to put the heel of your right foot touching the toe of your left foot and your arms down to yourself. >> Okay? Don't start walking yet. All I want you to do is just get in that one position and just hold it. And then I'm going to demonstrate it for you. Okay? >> So, you have to start from that position I just demonstrated for you. Okay? That's just the beginning. And I want to >> Your right knee is messed up. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, when I tell you to begin, >> do you want me to go through and demonstrate the rest of it? >> I can't. Watch my right hand. I can't. >> I can't. >> Okay. The next one is going to be the one leg stand. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, what you'll do is you'll put your feet together, arms down to your side, and then you'll raise one leg approximately 6 in. >> On my right leg. >> Okay. You can use either leg. You can use either leg. Okay. Do you think that you're gonna be able to do that? Okay. Do you think that you're gonna be able to attempt this? >> Yes. >> Okay. Go ahead and begin. >> Okay. You're watching your raised foot and you're counting out loud. >> 1 2 3. >> Watch your raised foot and your arms are down to your side. >> 11. >> Your arms are down to your side. >> 12. 12. Do you want me to do it for a long >> until I tell you to stop? Yes. >> One, two. >> All right, go ahead and stop. >> As she continues to give excuse after excuse why she can't complete the test, why this isn't fair. You can feel the officer's patience starting to wear thin. Eventually, he makes the call. She's under arrest. >> Honest with you, based off of everything, you're going to be under arrest for OBI. So, turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Please don't. >> You're under arrest. >> Drive me home. I >> I'm not going to drive you home. You're under arrest for OVI. >> So, >> please don't. I am a nurse. I will lose my license. Please do not >> turn around and put your hands behind your back. We are past that point. >> No, I'm not. >> Turn around and put your hands behind your back. >> Last night till 3:00 a.m. and went out with my friends. Please do not. >> You were under arrest. Turn around and put your hands behind your back. >> I'm begging you. >> Turn around and put your hands behind your back. You are under arrest. >> Jackie, call. >> I'm not calling anybody. You're under arrest. Give me this hand. >> Please call somebody. >> Stop. You are under arrest. I'm not calling anybody. >> What? >> I just told you that you're under arrest for OVI. >> I lost the stages tonight. Please don't do this. >> Stop. >> I'm walking to the car. >> I did not start to walk you. Is there anything from the vehicle that you need? Do you need house keys? You need your wallet? Phone, >> my purse, my phone. >> Okay. So, did you give this officer permission to get that from your vehicle? >> I'm literally a nurse. >> Okay. Stop pulling away. Stop pulling away. >> Not resisting. Please do not do this. >> It's It's past the point. You're under arrest. Okay. There's no negotiating it. >> I can't with my knee. That has nothing to do with it. >> You are ruining my life. >> Okay, you're ruining your own life. You shouldn't have been drinking and driving. You could have killed somebody. That's >> And then the emotions hit a boiling point. She's not violent, but she resists in her own way, pulling back, begging, refusing to comply with direct orders. That kind of behavior might not seem aggressive, but it can quickly turn into a safety risk. >> Walking back to my car. Turn around. Let me go. >> I'm not letting you go. >> You take 20 and 27 off the lineup. >> If you don't stop, you're going to be charged with resisting arrest. >> I'm charged with enough. >> Get in the car. >> Why are you doing that? >> Have a seat. >> Let's get in the car. I can't help me, please. >> Okay, lift up your leg. >> My knee. I can't. >> I hope you have that on video. >> Okay. It is incred. >> At the holding facility, things get more serious. Inside her personal belongings, multiple vials of hospital-grade medications. Lidocaine, fentinyl, haloparidol, nitroglycerin. That discovery adds a whole new layer to the case. She's officially charged with DUI, illegal possession of medical drugs, and improper lane usage. In court, she pleads guilty to all charges. The sentence, 90-day license suspension, 3 days in jail, and a $1,138 fine. On August 10th, 2024 in Ohio, police were dispatched to a parking lot after reports of a physical altercation. The woman at the center of it all, Summer, visibly drunk and still insisting on driving to pick up her 2-year-old son. friends and even her own mother tried desperately to stop her. But by the time officers arrived, the situation had spiraled completely out of control. >> Your vehicle, I don't want to charge you. >> Okay. Well, stay right here. Okay. Stay right stay over there. Okay. Is anyone else with you? >> No, I'm by myself. >> Okay. Stop. >> I'm with you. >> Don't I don't want to be touched. Okay. >> No. What's >> You're so stupid. >> Go back over stupid. You're dumb. You're dumb as you're supposed to be my best friend. >> Stay over there. What's going on? >> Summer is off her ass drunk. She's trying to go drive with her son. >> Okay, Summer, go talk to the other officer while I go talk to your >> What officer? What? >> Right there. It will If you would >> She's trying to drive. She wants to go pick her up. Hey, come here, >> Summer. I'm not going to tell you again. Go >> hit me. You dumb ass. You hit me. >> Stop. Sit in the car. Sit in the car. >> Well, let us work through it, but it's not going to do you any good going over there screaming and yelling at her. >> Yes, it is. >> Now, sit in the car. >> Okay, we can work through that, but I need you to take a breath and not be screaming and yelling at people. Your head hurts. Do you need to see any? >> What happened tonight, Summer? At least feel my >> I'm not going to feel your head. >> Can then Can you get an ambulance? >> I asked you that earlier and you said didn't say anything. Do you need an ambulance? >> I remember you asking that. Can someone like feel my head on my >> She's very very >> I know she is. So >> cuz we went out to Frick tonight. She was drinking. I wasn't because I'm only 20 and they wouldn't screaming at everybody kissing every right here. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Cussing at everybody, freaking out. And so she started name calling me and she had put her hands on all of us. She was pushing all of us, whatever. And I hit her back and then she started hitting me back >> and that was it. >> Dude, just get me the >> squad. Female's complaining of her head hurting. >> Get me the out of here. I want to go home. I want to go get my kid. >> Where's >> Hello? Can you please come in? >> Do you know her? >> I do know her. >> Can I talk to you over here real quick? You good? If you >> Mom, >> baby, you need to stop. >> Calm down, sweetheart. >> Oh, bro. Feel my head. >> Oh, >> a squad is coming. daughter did that stupid ass [ __ ] because she wants to be a little [ __ ] And we all tried offering to like drive her car and like switch off, me drive and go get him and then my mom drive her car behind like and she just would not. She was fighting. Everybody would not call. >> As police started taking witness statements to assess who was responsible and how much danger was involved, Summer flipped the script, suddenly playing the victim, whining and pointing fingers. It's a familiar move often used to deflect attention in a DUI investigation or to soften the legal blow that's coming. >> We tried to like she and But we don't want her driving like that with her baby in the car. >> Oh, absolutely. >> I mean, I don't want her driving like that, period. But with her baby in the car, >> no. She wanted to go get her baby. And I'm like, dude, you are done. You're drunk. You're No. >> Where did this start at? Over there or here? >> Here. Right here. Who do you guys know here? Why were you guys in this parking lot? You don't know where she was hanging out though tonight? Like, was she at your daughter's apartment here? >> We were Where were we? We were at her house, actually. >> We were at her house and then um from her house. This is where we came. >> Okay. >> So, she could get her baby. But she was not in any >> Who drove the car here from park it like this? This gentleman right here. My concern is she's complaining of head pain. I didn't get the story of how she got hit. >> Head pain. Oh, she is saying that her um mullers are >> No, she said feel my head. She's saying feel back here. >> She does have a knot on her head. I don't know what that's all about. >> Did you see anyone hit her? >> No, I didn't see anybody hit her. >> What I got? >> All I saw was slap side. >> She slapped her. I don't know if she hit her back or >> who slapped who? I'm sorry. >> She slapped the other girl over there. I don't know. >> In the back of the pickup truck, she's standing. >> Oh, that's my daughter. Yeah. >> Apparently, she slapped her in the arm. Her arms are red. >> So, I don't know if she hit her back. >> Oh, she was she was fighting everybody. >> I'm trying to call someone right now. Give me your driver. Are you going to cooperate with us? >> Yes. I'm trying I'm trying to get a hold of someone real quick. >> You're trying to get a hold of your dad to pick up your son. I know. >> No, I'm not. Yes, you are. >> Get a hold of my son's father. >> Well, I'm sure he doesn't want to talk to you based on what happened the other day. So, can you hang up the phone so we can talk to you? >> Multiple witnesses confirmed the same thing. Summer was clearly intoxicated and tried to drive with her toddler in the car, ignoring every warning. They described how she resisted when people tried to stop her and how she'd parked erratically. With so many matching statements, her legal news tightened fast. >> I've only had like 802. >> I want to call my dad. Why? Why do you need a squad? Cuz what hurts? >> Dude, can you at least feel my head hurting? >> No one's going to feel your head. That's >> Oh my god. And never mind. >> Why would your head hurt, though? >> Because she threw me on to the ground. >> Ma'am, can you come here and talk to me for a second, please, if you don't mind? >> So, who who drove? Did he drive or did she drive from? >> So she drove when she drove, she drove to here, but then he was like worried because of how drunk she was. He like pulled out of the parking spot and drove right there and then the police came. >> She had to drink today. That's my concern. >> Three. >> Three. Okay. >> Three. That's it. I'm 80 lb. I'm 5'1. I'm 80 lb. Three. That's it. >> Okay. >> What city you in right now? >> 43. >> Okay. What's your date of birth? 525 2003. >> Okay. Who's president of the United States? >> Finish talking to him. >> Get away from that. >> Hands on me. That's fine. >> Summer. >> Summer, can you put the phone down? >> I love you. >> Summer, we're going to go. Yeah. Summer, we're going to Do you have shoes? >> I don't know where my shoes went. I don't >> Do you Did you wear shoes here? >> Yes. >> Are they in the vehicle? >> I don't. >> Do you want to put them on? >> I don't know. Or do you want to go barefoot? I don't care. >> I It doesn't >> Okay, let's walk. Let's Let's walk. We're going to walk over in this open area in the parking lot. Okay. Let's go. We're going to walk right over here away from everyone. >> What? >> I try to hold your hand and put my shoes on. >> After you just yelled at me. >> I wasn't slipper. >> I wasn't trying to yell at you. >> Okay. Just put it on the ground and put your foot in it. Why are you being so mean? >> I want to go send right over here. I want to make sure that >> you are okay to drive. >> Okay. Based on >> your behavior right now. >> Okay. I just wanted to go get right in and go home. And they were being mean and they were throwing me out my car. And Karen started putting hands and she started punching me in her car cuz she put me in her car and she started punching me and I got out the car. >> Okay, >> I just want to go. >> Earlier, Summer had requested medical attention. But when EMTs arrived, she abruptly changed her mind. At that point, officers began a field sobriety test to evaluate her fitness to drive. With her swaying, mumbling, and being generally uncooperative, it didn't take a trained eye to guess where this was headed. >> You do is follow the tip of my pen with your eyes only. Just keep your head sealed. Do you understand? >> Okay, I'm just going to go straight up. Okay. >> All right. If we're blocking, just let me know how >> like that. Put your arms down at your sides. >> Nope. Don't start. Don't start. Go back. Go back. >> Do it. >> Just listen very carefully. Okay. Put your left foot on the line >> and put your right foot in front. Heel to toe. Arms down at your sides. And don't move. Don't go. Don't move. Put your You're not understanding. >> Okay. Like this. Right. >> Correct. Use his arms for balance. Miss steps. Step up. Three. Misstep. Step four. Mis steps up. Six. Miss steps. Step up. Seven. Step. Step. Eight. Step off. Step 9. 10. >> 16. 1 without a 10. >> Okay, you can go ahead and stop. Put under arrest for driving impaired. >> I haven't even drove. But I haven't even drove my car. I bet you did. >> No, I didn't. Your >> no friend and >> car your your two friends >> drove my car. >> Your friend drove my car. >> Nope. I didn't even I want my phone to go to my dad, please. >> Okay, >> hold on, sir. Come here. Don't walk over there. Is that your daughter? >> Yeah. >> All right. Are you able to pick up her kid? >> Where Where's he at? >> Apparently at her house. >> What's going on? >> Why are you guys taking her to jail? >> DUI. We didn't say she >> The officers managed the chaos with steady hands, restraining Summer while making sure her child was safe and not left alone. Despite her constant resistance, there wasn't a single act of force from the officers. They contacted her father to come pick up the child, then transported Summer to the station. >> All right, step out. Let me check. I'll check the handcuffs. >> They hurt. >> Stop. >> They hurt. Get them off, man. >> Well, stop moving and they wouldn't hurt. >> Not moving. Yes, you're moving your hands. I can fit at least two fingers. He I will have another officer check to see if they're tight. >> So, I can get I can get multiple fingers. >> Have a seat. Have a seat. >> Where? >> Right here. >> I want to go. >> Don't interrupt me. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say canon will be used against you in court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you while you are being questioned. Do you understand the rights I have explained to you? >> Yes. >> Okay. By law, I have to read this top section to you. >> Oh my god. >> Okay. So, if you want to follow along as I read this to you, that way you understand. >> You are now under arrest for operating a vehicle while on the influence or a drug or combination of them operating a vehicle while under the influence of a list of control substance or listening metabolite of a controlled substance. Do you understand? >> Okay. So, okay. We are P. Stop. Stop. We are past that. Okay. We are past that point. Looks like you do not have uh any prior convictions. >> I was not driving under the influence at all. >> Are you willing to take the breath test? >> No. >> Okay. >> Not willing to take any test because I was not driving under the influence. I was not in the driver vehicle. >> Summer, stand up, please. Summer, stand up. Stop trying to slip your top. Stand up out of the chair. Thank you. >> I was not driving under the influence, dude. [Music] >> Please take them off. They hurt. Please take them off. They hurt you. Please. >> Okay, have a seat. >> You're hurt. You're going to hurt yourself >> because of how you're acting right now. >> Hey, they're take take them all. >> Summer was officially booked and charged with DUI and disorderly conduct. She was released on $5,000 bail and later entered a no contest plea to the DUI. Even without a prior record, the court didn't go easy on her. 30 days in jail, 27 suspended, 2 years probation, driver's license revoked, $1,75 in fines. On July 5th, 2024, police were tracking down a suspect in a hit and run, following up on witness statements and a clear license plate. The car involved registered to a nurse named Heather, who at the time was supposedly on duty, driving a patient to Walmart for a quick shopping trip. But when officers finally caught up with her, things weren't nearly as simple as they looked. >> Identity. >> Why am I here to talk to you then, I guess? >> I don't know. Okay. Is that your car right there? >> Yeah. >> Why is there a big dent in it? >> That was there before. >> Uh Heather, this is going to go probably a lot smoother if we just get off on the right foot and you just tell me what happened. Okay. Because here, before you say anything, we already know you were in an accident. Okay. There's people >> over in the roundabout. There's people over there that gave us your car and your plate number. Okay. So, let's not pretend that that was already there because there's going to be no police report. There's going to be no documentation. Okay? I'm here to find out what happened, how it happened, and we'll go from there. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, let's start over. You're Heather. >> What's your last name? Heather. That's your car. >> Yep. >> Okay. What happened today that you got the big dent in it? >> Where's the big dent? >> Um, ma'am, is it possible for you, Tammy, to go talk to this officer right here that's pulling up? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I I'm sorry, Heather. >> I didn't hit any vehicles. Sit down, Heather. We're not >> Where did I hit a vehicle? By the roundabout. By the roundabout. What roundabout? By Walmart. Okay, >> Heather, go ahead and sit down. We're not >> Right from the jump, Heather denies being the driver. That kind of reaction pretty common for someone without a criminal background, someone who's never had to face an officer with real evidence. But once police show her the proof, eyewitnesses, the plate, the damage, she shifts tactics fast. Now she's claiming the dent was already there, trying to twist the facts instead of owning up. >> Remember hitting the vehicle or what? >> Okay. >> Who is this to you? A friend or? >> She's a client. >> Okay. So, you're like a caretaker for a company or what? Okay. And what was the job today? To pick her up and bring her around or >> Yep. take her to Walmart and that was it. >> Okay. >> I came back here with her, dropped off all of her groceries. I have no idea what the she's talking about. >> Okay. >> So, >> so why are you still here then? >> Cuz I still have her as a client. >> Okay. Like you are with her for the day or what? >> Um, no. Until 11. >> Okay. So, what time did you get here with Tammy today? >> Okay. Is that pretty normal? Or from 8:30 to 11:00, you're helping Tammy with whatever she needs today. Okay. >> And part of that is going to get her groceries from Walmart. >> I help her shop, do whatever I have to do. Leave. That's why I'm saying like it doesn't make any >> Okay. >> You'd think I would know. >> So, you bring her back here and then you're with her till 11. >> Yep. >> So, you're outside having a smoke. Is that right? Okay. >> What do you do after 11:00? Do you go to another client? Okay. Do you know what time it is right now? >> Really? Yeah. It's just about 11. I have to go to the next one. >> Okay. So, you think it's just before 11? >> Yeah. >> It's after It's after noon. Oh, I have to go to the next one by noon. >> Okay, well, you're still late. You said 11:00, you were late at 11:00. You said noon. You're late again. >> Then comes the confusion. Heather starts mixing up timelines, unsure when or where things happened. Could be stress, a mild stimulant, or just sheer panic shutting her brain down. Either way, her sense of control is slipping. And that's usually the sign that things are about to spiral. Do >> you have anything on you that you shouldn't have? Anything illegal? No. Can I search you to make sure? >> No. Okay. Did you take any recreational drugs today? >> Nope. >> Been drinking at all today? >> Nope. >> Okay. >> I'm done. I'm not playing. >> You're not going anywhere. >> Okay. Let go. >> Sit down. >> Sit down. >> Let go. >> You're the suspect in a hit and run. You're not free to leave. >> Sit down. >> Let go. >> Sit down. >> Let go. >> You are not free to leave, Heather. >> Let go. Go ahead and put your hands behind your back. Stop. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Can I let go of my cigarettes? >> No. >> Okay. You know what? >> Stop. >> Knock it off. >> You >> stop resisting. Put your other hand behind your back. >> You better. >> All right. Stand up. Can I >> stand up? >> Stand up. >> Can you? >> Yep. You're going to stand up. There you go. >> All right. Let's go over to my car. >> I didn't throw him on the ground. You did >> because he was being a >> Because you were trying to walk away after I told you you weren't >> I'm not free to leave. >> Okay, whatever. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Okay. >> Like that's what you're not getting. >> For what? I didn't do anything wrong. >> What happens next isn't about hating cops. It's about losing power. For someone in healthcare, especially someone used to calling the shots, being confronted by law enforcement feels like losing control of her world. And when that illusion cracks, the fight or flight kicks in hard. >> First of all, you don't even have a driver's license. That would be the first thing you did wrong. >> Then we probably can keep going from there. >> You're under arrest for obstructing right now, so I'm going to search you. >> I didn't do anything wrong. Like I there was no hidden run. I swear God, why are you looking at me like that? Cuz everything you basically told me was a lie. >> It wasn't a lie. >> I'm sorry. >> It was just >> cuz all I was doing was smoking a cigarette. >> I know. >> Yeah. So, what's the problem? >> I already kind of told you what the problem was. >> Yeah. Whatever. >> Can we go? >> Not yet. >> Done. >> Not yet. >> Well, too bad. Go. I don't care what the he has to say. He's obviously confident. Go. >> I'm going to listen to an incompetent and then I'm going to believe him cuz she's incompetent. You >> go. Go. >> I got to wait for the other officer. >> I don't care what the you have to say. Go. >> You want to see a You're going to see a [ __ ] especially when I need you. >> You have an incompetent mother. Stupid Incompetent. Check her license. She's incompetent. Yeah. Then you'll see what's up, mother. Incompetent. You when I have to go blow in my breath at 3:00 and I pass. What's up? Then I'll >> you'd like to blow in a PBT, I can let you do that. >> I have to blow into it. Yeah, that's what I thought. >> Once restrained, Heather lets loose. Verbal rage venting straight at the patient she was supposed to be caring for. It's a glimpse behind the mask. Someone who can keep it together just long enough until things don't go her way. People like that often thrive in roles where they hold power over vulnerable individuals and sometimes they abuse it. >> Would you like to provide a preliminary breath sample? >> No. Okay. Would you like to perform field sobriety tests? >> Not here. This is my workplace. Like do do you >> But >> I'm not. >> This is the place we are right now. >> Okay. Well, go up the block and I'll do it. >> I'm not going to do a field like Do you want me to play it? like >> well I think the names you were calling your clients and how you were acting right now is probably not going to look good for your job anyway hard obviously if she thinks that I'm drinking I have a breathalyzer >> a handheld breathalyzer I have to do at 7 3 11 and 7 do you think I'm drunk like really >> I would like you just to submit to a preliminary breath test right now >> do it so I'm done with your guys's little tricks. I'll blow at 3:00. >> Okay. Go ahead and sit back. I'm going to put your seat belt on here. >> Do you want your purse out of the car and your car locked up? >> Yep. I have to blow at three. >> Right. >> So, we need to make that official. >> All right. Hang on for me. >> Heather took what could have been a simple traffic investigation and escalated it into a full-blown criminal case with her own mouth and attitude. lying, resisting, lashing out. Not only did she break the law, but she also raised serious questions about her ethics as a nurse. She was ultimately booked for leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice. And that's not all. She may face disciplinary action from her licensing board for grossly unprofessional conduct while on the job and responsible for a vulnerable patient. So, what happens when a nurse completely loses it after cops discover she's been drinking on duty? On February 4th, 2023 in Illinois, police respond to a call about a car stuck in a parking lot. When they arrive, they find Crystal behind the wheel, engines still in drive and fast asleep. She tells officers she's a nurse, maybe hoping that'll earn her a little sympathy. But instead of getting her out of trouble, it only made things worse. I got you. Question for you. Have you had any drinks tonight? >> I mean, I've had a couple of drinks. >> Okay. All right. How many drinks have you had? >> About three. >> About three. Okay. And about how long ago was that? >> Probably within two hours. >> Okay. All right. >> I'm a nurse. >> Mhm. >> I mean, I don't know if that makes any difference. >> I got you. Okay. So, I'm going to just run some tests if that's okay with you, just to make sure that you're okay. I mean, your vehicle isn't okay, but do me a favor. Just put your feet together. Put your hands at your side. This So, I'm going to use my finger and I just want you to follow it. Okay? This is going to be considered my stimulus. Okay? I just want you to follow your my finger. Okay, I tell you what. Let's walk over here now. Place your right foot on the line ahead of your left foot with the heel of your right foot against the toe of your left foot. Take nine heel to toe steps on the line. Turn around and take nine heel totoe steps back on the line. Do you understand the instructions? >> Yes. >> You may begin. >> Crystal admits pretty quickly that she's been drinking. That kind of honesty usually means she wasn't planning on lying, but it also shows she isn't fully grasping the seriousness of what she's facing. At this point, she's still cooperative, going along with field sobriety tests without much resistance. But the real breakdown hasn't started yet. All right. I got one more thing for you. Okay. >> All right. Would you be willing to blow in this? >> What would that mean? >> This is like >> What would that mean? like, okay, I'm like I'm an anesthesia >> Mhm. >> like professional. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to school to be an anesthesia professional. >> Mhm. >> So, and I'm a single mother. >> Okay. >> So, like what I blow in this is going to affect my whole life. And I live about one block from here. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, I get it. Like, I shouldn't have gotten behind my wheel. >> Mhm. >> I get it. But that is going to [ __ ] up my whole life. >> So, are you refusing to do this? >> I mean, I don't know. She single mother. >> Okay. And I've done everything in my life to be an anesthesia professional >> and this will mess up my entire life. I'll kill myself. >> Well, I I don't want you to kill yourself, but like I said, >> this is what this is what it will come to. >> Well, I I don't want that to happen, but like I said, you're being placed under arrest for driving under the influence. The moment she's asked to blow into the breathalyzer, everything shifts. Crystal breaks down, crying, pleading, talking about her kids, her job, her future. Then, when she's told she's being arrested, panic takes over. She begs, screams, even says she'll take her own life. It's a complete emotional collapse. The first signs of extreme psychological distress. You going to sit right here? Community Protection Act and were subse subsequently found not guilty of the associated DUI charge. The above you are warned. If you refuse distorted extremities and injuries that require the injured party to be carried from the center, would you like to submit to all chemical testing? So that that that means >> I was just about to say so that means that you will blow in our intoxic intox meter which is our alcohol sensor 5 right here. Then we will go to the hospital and you would provide blood and a urine sample. I mean, I didn't [ __ ] I didn't hurt anyone. Like I'll goddamn kill myself >> now. She lashes out, verbally, attacking the officers, blaming everyone but herself. It's a mental defense mechanism, pushing guilt outward to protect the ego. But underneath that aggression is something darker. Once she feels truly cornered, Crystal slips into a self-destructive spiral where logic, accountability, even self-preservation start to disappear. >> Chemical testing. >> I don't even know. I don't even know. Like I need to somebody because I just want to [ __ ] die right now. I just want to [ __ ] die right now. Honestly, I just want to [ __ ] die right now. Is there any way that I could [ __ ] die right now? >> Like honestly because I don't want to [ __ ] do this. >> So you're refusing chemical testing? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I'll do [ __ ] chemical testing. You say you will? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Like, what do you mean? What exactly are you trying to do? Like, why are you [ __ ] going after me? >> I'm I'm not going after you, ma'am. I don't know like what you've been through, but I've like put my whole life into being a CRNA. Okay? And if this ruins that, then I just ruin my entire life. >> Sit down. Sit down. >> Kill me. Kill me. >> Sit. >> Kill me. [Music] Kill me. I'd rather die. Do this [ __ ] I rather. >> At this stage, she's no longer operating in a rational state of mind. She's hysterical, trapped in an emotional breakdown so severe it borders on a psychiatric crisis. Her behavior becomes unpredictable, irrational, and dangerous. Relax. Relax. Relax. >> She do the same thing when you got you just pulled out. >> I literally am I'm an ICU nurse. Like why the [ __ ] are you? >> This stuff happens. Okay. Your arm gets you squared away. Okay. >> Kill me. Like it was like super [ __ ] kill me. Kill me. >> Stop. You make it on you. >> Pull it in my head. That's what happens. >> Kill me. >> Keep breathing, Crystal. You're doing really good. >> Oh, [ __ ] you. >> Stop. You're doing fine. >> Seriously, just kill me. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Keep blowing. Go. Go. Go. Go. Good job. >> As soon as I go, it's not over. >> Everything I've worked for is over. You don't know because you've never [ __ ] worked for it. >> I got you. >> You don't know because you didn't spend 5 years in the ICU trying to get into anesthesia school. You don'ting know. >> Well, I'm sorry. >> You don't [ __ ] know. >> So, until you know, then you'll understand. >> Okay. >> It's [ __ ] over. I'm [ __ ] [ __ ] dead. Eventually, after officers calm her down, Crystal agrees to take the breathalyzer. But instead of being booked straight into jail, she's taken to the hospital for a psych evaluation. A smart move considering her mental state. In the end, she's charged with DUI and obstruction of justice. If convicted, she could lose her nursing license and be required to undergo mandatory mental health treatment. So, what happens when a nurse is found passed out at the wheel, engine running, gear, and drive? On July 24th, 2023 in Illinois, a police officer was in the middle of writing a simple parking ticket when the vehicle's owner, Nikita Mosby, suddenly returned. What should have been a routine interaction. It escalated fast. >> For what? You did not park. No, you did not pull me over. No. Hell no. >> My red lights are on. You are stopped. Put your car in park. >> I'm not stopped. My I was in the store, so you want >> Put your car in park. Go ahead and talk. >> I need your license, your insurance. >> Put your car in park, please, before you roll away. >> Put the car in park. >> Smack the 17. Take a second. Put the car in park now. Ma'am, put the car in park before you roll away. >> No. Here. You're doing too much. Just get the lights. Yes, you are. Just shut up talking to me. Do what you got to do. problem. All right. >> What the problem is? >> Now you're parked in no parking zone. Left the vehicle running. All right. Hazard lights on. >> Was your car in park? Did you leave it? >> Hazard lights on. Okay. Anyway, let me >> You're going to receive my insurance for you can leave me alone. I'm telling you what's going to happen. >> I don't care what's going on. Just give me what you got to do and leave me alone. >> I got to got to go do I don't care. I don't care. Okay. >> I don't care. I don't care. I'm not doing it. So, it don't matter. Stay in your car. >> 796.3. >> I need your window all the way down. >> I'm not handing you anything. I need your window all the way down. Right out of the gate, Mosby denies parking illegally. That's a textbook defense mechanism, kicking in when someone feels their control is being threatened. This kind of reaction is often seen in folks who've had prior run-ins with law enforcement. It's less about the parking and more about the perceived power struggle. >> Don't open my door. >> What are you doing? You tripping. Get the out. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. I don't have to I don't have to move. Back the up. I don't have to do nothing. Just hand me my ticket and my license. Get the away from my door. Let the feel free to leave. >> What are you doing? >> I'm towing my back at 117. Can you see me to please? >> I'm towing your car. my car. >> Yes, I can. About to be tugged. >> 276. >> Your car is being touched. >> No, it's not. >> Yes, it is. >> Move on my way. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> I'm not going to touch you, but I'm also not going to have you touch me. >> Don't touch me. I'm not touching you. Don't touch my car. Like I said, don't touch my car. >> You are not leaving right now. You understand me? >> Don't touch my car. You are not I will Don't touch me. I am telling you you are not. >> Bye. Leave my car and move. >> I am telling you are not. >> Okay. Don't touch me. Bye. Leave my >> leaving. >> Leave my >> Not right now. Do not crawl in that front seat. >> Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Front seat. >> I'm going to call somebody. >> Yep. Don't touch me. >> Who are you calling? >> Don't worry about them. You're touching me. You're harassing me into that front seat. >> Let me call them people in the store to record y'all cuz y'all harassing me. >> It's already being recorded. Do not crawl into that front seat. Don't touch me. Don't No, don't touch me. Stop. >> Don't touch me. I'm not doing it. Don't touch me. I'm not doing nothing. [Applause] >> I'm not. >> As the situation slips further out of her hands, Mosby's behavior turns emotional and extreme. It's not just arguing anymore. We're seeing full-blown impulsive, defiant behavior typical of someone with anti- athority tendencies who can't handle losing control. >> Yep. You're the one resisting. >> Okay. >> Come on. Stop. Let me go. >> Hey, can you see the camera? >> Move. I need to go. Stop. You just pull my hair out. Move. >> No, you didn't leave me. Stop touching me. Y'all just pissed me off now. over. Stop. I'm not doing nothing. >> What? I'm sticking to my camera to obey a lock. >> Damn. Move. Stop touching several lock orders that you refuse. >> All right. I got a ticket. I'm already got a parking ticket. >> And then you And then you grab my food. >> And then you left your car unattended. Not again. >> Stop touching me. >> Stop touching me. >> These these are the sitting here. Stop touching me. >> No, you're not allowed to be in your car because you can't drive away. You cannot drive away. >> Y'all help me. This part is harassing. No, we are not. >> Yes, they are. Look at them. >> We have asked you to stop. >> They got hands on me. Help me fall. Stop touching me. >> Excuse me. >> No, I'm not. Y'all hitting me. >> No one hit me. >> Let me go. >> Let me go. I can call whoever I want. Stop pushing me. Damn. >> You got that arm. >> Don't hit me. Stop touching me. >> Yo, they handling me. >> Ma'am. Ma'am, you have caused these problems. >> You have caused these issues. Stop touching me. Let me go. >> I know >> it's hot as hell. Get off. Is my car emotional? It's an on. So let me go. >> E. Stop pulling me. You're jack. Stop pulling me. >> I'm not. No, I'm not. >> You are under. No, I'm not. >> You've been told that. So you can I'm not doing nothing. I've been sitting in my car yesterday touching it. >> You were told not to get back in. >> It's my car. I got to put the food in the car. The [ __ ] I'm not doing this. The car move. No. Did I leave? No, it's not. >> You should have left in your car. >> You said shut up. I'm talking about right now, y'all. It's touching me for once. >> Your car is >> Y'all help me. Resting me for no reason. >> Oh, cuz I got in the car. >> That's when the manipulation kicks in. She starts throwing around victim language, trying to paint herself as the one being wronged, hoping to sway bystanders or even guilt the officer. But at this point, it's no longer just talk. The officer has to step in and take control by force. >> I got back in my car. Now they mad. They handling me wrong. All cuz I got back in the car. All cuz I got back in the car and they snatched my wig off. >> She needs to come out here. >> No, I don't. I didn't do anything. Sir, I swear to God. That's saying that's getting my car away. I got back in the car, but I didn't do nothing. >> Well, they told you you're under arrest at this point. >> I didn't do anything. No, they just said that when you pulled up in the car. >> Yes, you did. I didn't say anything. Sir, listen. >> Step out of the car. >> Step out of the car. >> You're going to get tased. >> You're going to get for what? Cuz I stand in the car. >> Because you [ __ ] arrest. Step out. >> I didn't even do anything. >> Step out of the car. You're going to get tased. >> Do it now. >> She's going >> on the ground. >> Let me get my shoes. Let me face down. >> Come on. >> On the ground. >> My foot's up. If y'all wait, try to get my foot out the car. >> There you go. Let me in my shoes behind your back. Hands behind your back. Hands behind your stomach. My shoes. >> Stop. >> Leave my phone alone. >> I'm not going to leave your phone. >> Put this phone behind your behind your back. >> Don't touch my phone. Don't touch my phone. >> Why are you taking my phone? That's not even right. What is y'all doing? >> Now, don't scratch me. That's not going to end well for you. >> Stand up. Ain't nobody doing nothing to you. What? All right. Stand up. Stand up. >> Hey, y'all give me a second down. Wait. The Can I get my mother leg? >> I don't need I can get up. I don't need you to help me. I can get the up. >> Bring her up. >> The upper. >> Okay. Stand up. >> My sho mine. >> Stand up. >> Okay. Down. I'm trying to help you out. >> I got to get my foot underneath me again. >> I don't need your help to get up. For real. For real. >> As she's being pulled from the car, Mosby completely loses it, thrashing, screaming, and yelling as if she's under serious attack. She repeatedly brings up her child, clearly trying to play on emotional sympathy. But when your actions show open resistance, words don't buy you a pass. >> Right here. I'm going to have to be sure real quick. >> You have anything on you? >> No. Come on. >> Hurt me [ __ ] sick man in any way. >> Did you see you snatch my mother wig off? Dumb assho. >> Can you take her real quick? You going watching too much snatch my mother wig off. >> All right, man. Please, can you officer officer, can you please just let me go, please? >> No, you're not going to you're not going to let go. >> I did not kick you, though. That's the thing. Can you please? I got a child to get back to. Now, if she was your child, then what? >> Can you please Can you please just let her go? Can you just give me a ticket like you just did? >> Can you sit up, please? Mosby, can you sit up, please? You stop here. I'll check on you. >> UIPD female. Aw. >> Miss Mosby, can you sit up? Sit up. >> Are you okay? >> Cuz we here. Yes, we're here. Okay. I was making sure you're okay. You weren't answering me. >> So, we're not here. >> No, we're pulling in. I need to put put your feet in. I got to pull in. >> Oh my goodness. >> Put your feet in. >> Stupid ass. Oh, like [ __ ] You should have been pulled. You dumb. What's your name? >> Mosby. In the end, Mosby is taken to jail and charged with felony assault on a peace officer, misdemeanor resisting arrest, obstruction, and yes, illegal parking. If convicted, she's looking at fines, possible jail time, and a future that just got a whole lot more complicated. One thing's for sure, if she keeps living with that same mindset, she's headed straight for more trouble because ignorance might be loud, but the consequences, they always show up quiet and cold. On May 1st, 2024 in New Mexico, an officer spots a white Toyota barreling down the road with no front tire. Sparks flying, thick smoke pouring out the back, and it's running straight on the rim. Behind the wheel, a woman later identified as Jennifer Gutierrez, who proudly calls herself a doctor. But once the officer pulls her over, things take a wild turn fast. >> Hold on. Stay right there. Stay right there. >> Oh, sorry. >> No, you're fine. Yeah, you're you're down to like it looks like you're down to the wheel. It's smoking and sparking everywhere. You're leaving a trail all the way you're going. >> No, I didn't know that. >> You didn't know that? Where are you coming from? >> Um uh from Northeast. >> Do me a favor. >> Yeah. >> You don't have any shoes on or anything? Go ahead. Step over here. >> Okay. Put those up on your truck. Do you have any weapons on you or anything like that? Okay. At all. Do you mind if I check? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Go ahead and turn around. Face that way. >> Why we stopped you at all? >> No. >> Why? >> Over here. >> Oh, >> why wouldn't you have noticed that? Excuse me. >> Just driving home. You didn't notice that you were missing your tire and driving under your car. >> It's traffic. >> We're sorry about that. >> Um, we're allowed to enforce traffic and take our jurisdiction, right? >> We're joining jurisdictions, >> but just stand right there. >> What? Why is he touching me? >> Cuz you're walking towards him. He's telling you to stand over here. >> I'm not touching him. >> Well, you're not listening. >> I'm not walking towards him. >> No, you're not. >> He was grabbing my arm. >> Because you're walking towards him. >> All right, I'm going to go get my phone. I'm going to record him. >> Jennifer steps out barefoot, rambling, totally out of it. She doesn't even seem to notice her car's torn up and literally undrivable. That kind of disconnect, major red flag. Right off the bat, her behavior points to some kind of stimulant influence, possibly meth or another upper messing with her sense of reality. >> Conduct a DWI investigation and then if you're good to drive, then we'll let you go. Okay. >> Okay. [Music] >> Hey, right there. I'm just looking. You're going to go right back to the back of your truck. Go to the back of your truck. >> Try to get in your vehicle. Do you understand? >> I'm not trying to get into my vehicle. >> Do you understand? >> I'm just saying. >> I'm telling you, do not try to get in your vehicle. All right. >> I'm not I'm not doing >> Don't step towards me. >> I'm approaching my That's why that's why we're telling you just hang out. That's all you got to do. You're not going to get into your vehicle. Well, we were following your tire drag marks >> all the way over here >> from 528 in Southern. >> I just didn't know that I had that. >> Okay. >> Simply. >> Okay. So, hang out for a minute. >> Okay. >> And officer's going to come over here and they're going to conduct a DWI investigation. >> Don't Don't think that I'm not going to make a big deal of it. >> What? >> Of this. A waste of resources. How's this a waste of resources? Do you not believe that it was a major hazard that you were driving around the city on a >> rent? Seven seven. >> Yeah, it's a waste of resourc. >> You're not a registered owner of this vehicle. >> I am. >> Well, I just ran it. You're not on there. >> Yeah, I am. >> Is your name Jason? >> No, >> I didn't think so. >> That's my husband. >> Okay. Well, you're not on the vehicle registration is what I'm saying. So, what's your first name? You have to provide that. You know that, right? Tell me your first and last name and your date of birth. >> That's called concealing identity. >> This is a lawful traffic stop >> and I don't want you to get in more trouble. >> Give give me a reason >> because I'm asking you. >> No. >> And you we're stopw. >> Okay. >> Things escalate quickly. She gets combative, especially the moment she feels like someone's watching or trying to control her. It's a classic sign of either past trauma from abuse of authority or this delusional belief that she's somehow above the law. When she refuses to ID herself, her attitude shifts from weird to aggressive. >> What am I doing? >> Is this your car? >> Okay. Well, the reason why we're here is because uh your tire you're driving on the rim. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I mean I I mean that's not a crime, right? To have a tire go in. >> No, but it's kind of weird. I mean, it's >> a crime to drive in a vehicle >> cuz he's brown and I'm white. >> So, I just wanted to get that for the camera. No, >> I'm going to put this in your car for you, okay? So, it doesn't get lost. >> Just wanted to make sure that was on camera. Can >> you go back to the back of the car like we asked you multiple times? >> Get out of my way. >> I'm not going to get out of your way. I'm going to ask you one more time. >> You go back to the other to the back of the truck. >> Stand right there. >> Just relax for now, man. Just >> Why is Why are they kissing me? >> Because we have to investigate the situation. >> I'm just walking. >> Yeah, but now you just just pushed one of the officers, so that's a crime. No, I didn't. >> You did. >> I did not. >> You have some shoes in the car. >> Charles 525. That female is going to be detained for a battery on a police officer. >> I have not done anything wrong. >> You did? You've done two things, three things wrong. One, you're driving on a rim. Would you cut it out? >> That's it. Stand up. >> Take a seat. >> Take a seat. [Music] Yeah, she just kicked me. >> She keeps throwing out the doctor title like a badge, almost as if saying it enough times will make this all disappear. It's an ego defense move often seen in people with strong identities tied to power or status. In chaos, they cling to that title like a lifeline. >> Good morning. >> Hi, ma'am. My name is Officer Duran. Okay. The reason I'm here, ma'am, is that >> Wenos? >> I'm sorry. >> Wenos. What's your name? >> Jen. >> Jen. Okay. My name is Victor. I shake your hand if I could, but you're in cuffs. Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. Are you having a rough? >> You want to take these off? >> I can't take them off, but let me see. Let me see how tight they are. Just stay in there for now. Just stay in there for now. Okay. >> Commit crime. >> Are they a little too tight? You want me to loosen them up a little bit? >> Of course. >> Okay. Go ahead and step out just so I can loosen them up. But are you if I do that for you, are you going to be cooperative? >> Yes. >> Okay. I'm not going to take them off. So, I'm just going to loosen him a little bit. Okay. All right. Come on, Jen. >> Okay. You know what? You've been very cooperative. So, I'm going to let you stand and just talk to me like this. Okay. >> All right, ma'am. The reason why I'm here, okay, is because you're suspected of being under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. Okay? That's the reason I'm here. >> So, in order for me to make sure, if that's true or not, to make sure that you listen to me real quick. Just real quick, then I will let you talk. I will let you talk. I promise. Okay. All right, ma'am. So, what I'm going to do Okay. Again, it's called the standard field sob riding test. Okay. What I need you to do, your hands are behind your back, so just leave them that way. Okay. Do you want to put on your shoes or you good barefoot? >> I'm good. >> It's not too cold. Okay. Do me a favor. Put your heels and toes together just like this. All right. And then Uh-oh. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, the only thing is that if I have you stand like that, you can look at me. I'm going to hold you for now, but in order for me to perform this test, I can't hang on to you. Okay? You have to be able to stand straight, heels and toes together on your own power. Okay? >> Okay. >> All right. All right, I'm going to wait just a minute just to make sure that you're okay. Okay, Jen. Jen, it's okay. All right, we all have bad days. Okay, I can smell an order of alcohol coming from your mouth. Okay. >> Mhm. >> Uh have you had more than two beers? >> No. >> More than one? >> No. >> How about uh more than one shot? I could I can smell the alcohol, ma'am. >> Okay. That's why I'm asking you. I'm not asking you if you had. I can smell it and it's coming straight from your mouth. Okay. So, have you had more than two beers? >> No. >> Have you had more than one shot? Two shots. What kind of upl have have you had? >> This. >> Once cuffed and restrained, Jennifer flips the script. Now she wants to negotiate. Suddenly willing to cooperate, but only with officers she deems reasonable. It's a classic manipulative shift, trying to regain control. She admits to drinking a little, but still denies being drunk. That split behavior, half confession, half dodge. >> Uh, what time is it now? >> So, right now it is 6:32 in the morning. Uh, probably 4:30. >> About 4:30 a.m. in the morning. Okay. Have you gone to bed since then? >> Yeah. Okay. Yeah. >> All right. So, let's get back to this test. Okay. >> All right. So, what I'm going to have you do, go ahead and look straight at me. Okay. Make sure you keep your hands and feet just the way they are. Put your feet Make sure that they're touching. You see where your toes are? Yeah. There you go. Perfect. Just like that. All right. So, what you're going to do, you see the tip the tip of my finger. All right. Okay. So, what I need you to do is you're going to follow the tip of my finger with your eyes and your eyes only, not moving your head. Okay? >> Yeah. >> Can't she can't finish. Um, she was swaying at first. She's able to keep her balance now. Um, she couldn't finish HGN. She's not listening to directions. She keeps moving her head. Um, but even what I could get from the HGN on the onset, uh, and equal tracking, uh, she does have nice stagnance. So, give me what I'm about to tell you is very important. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. So, you are under arrest for driving while under the influence. Okay. >> Why? >> How? >> Oh, just let me let me run this all by you real quick. >> Tell me. >> And then I'll explain everything to you. Okay. >> Did Did you give me a breath advice? >> I give you my word. We'll get to that. I give you my word. Okay. I don't make promises often. Okay. But I promise you that. Well, if you let me get through this, I will explain answer any question that I can as far as why you're arrested and then the breathalyzer. So, now being read this information. Okay. Do you agree to take a breathalyzer test? >> No. Okay. So now your question that came now I'll answer your questions. Okay. All right. So I I'll start from the last question which is a breathalyzer cuz that's what this is for. Okay. This is the implied consent for the you know New Mexico state statute. Okay. For DWI. In order for us for you and us to be able to confirm that you are not impaired to the slightest degree, we would need to perform a breathalyzer test. But if you refuse, then you're charged. I I I'll have to read some further information here. Okay. If But if you want to confirm that you're not under the influence, you can take the test. You still choose to not take the test? No. Okay. She refuses the breathalyzer outright. A calculated move. It's not panic, it's strategy. Either she knows the consequences are heavy or she's still holding on to the fantasy she can outsmart the system. But this isn't some reflex. It's a defensive play. >> We're just here for your safety and ours, ma'am. That's it. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, I tried to explain, but I can't. We got to get going now. Okay. >> If I had a gun. Yeah, I understand. But I don't have a gun. >> One second. Can you start my decoration? >> All right, ma'am. I'm going to have you come back in here. Okay. All right. >> So, do you realize the condition your car was in? Do you know what kind of car trouble you were having? >> Yeah, I that's why I pulled off. >> What was your car trouble? What was going on with your car? >> My tires were bad. >> How in what way? >> They were flat. >> You were driving on a rim, ma'am. And based on the condition of that rim, it was the rim itself was only about I would say 10 in in diameter. meaning you were driving on that metal rim so long that you wore it down from about a 15 to 17 inch rim to 10 in. And as far as not having a weapon, when you're driving in that manner, ma'am, and you're not aware of it and you're suspected of being under the influence that [Music] cool beans. All right, go ahead and follow me over here. All right, hang out here officer pulls. back. >> So, it'll be about an hour to an hour and a half. Okay. >> Okay. >> Go ahead and go on in there and we'll check up on you periodically. Okay. >> In the end, Jennifer was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and DUI. In court, she took a plea deal. Her sentence, community service, mandatory DUI classes, an ignition interlock device, and writing three apology letters. On August 1st, 2023 in Ohio, police were dispatched after a disturbing 911 call. A woman had allegedly threatened her own mother, possibly gotten physical, and fled the scene with her young child. When officers arrived, they found her holding the child, already in a volatile, emotional state. What happened next was anything but calm. >> Stop. >> No. Let go of me right now. >> You have a child in your arms and you're acting like this. Are you serious? What are you doing? She did this. >> This is not helping the situation. >> Mom, are you serious right now? >> Mom, are you serious? >> Give me the baby. >> No. Give me Give me the baby. >> No, I'm not giving you him. Mom, are you serious? >> Are youing serious? Mom. Mom, why would you do this? Look what you're doing to my kid. Look what you're doing to my kid. >> Stop. No. >> Stop resisting. Mom. Mom. >> Mom. >> What would you do to my kid? >> I hate you. I hate you. >> You got her. >> I'mma you up. I'mma you up. I'mma you up. 21. >> Hold on. Let me just turn my No. >> I can hide my phone. Can I write down some numbers before my phone dies? >> We may have local. >> Can you write down the number before my phone dies? >> Hello. Can you write down somebody's number before my phone dies? >> You want to do any favors when you're acting like this? >> Okay, I will get up. Can you please just write down a number before my phone dies? >> Okay. Be advised at this time you do have the right to sign anything you say can will be used against you in court of law. You have the right to have an attorney present during any time being questioned. Cannot afford one or be appointed to represent you. Do you understand that? >> Is it yes or no? Yes, sir. >> Okay, I'm going to roll you over. You ready? >> Stand up. No, just stand me up front. I can go on my feet. >> Look, >> stand you up front. >> Can I get somebody's phone number out there for my phone? >> Fleeing with the child under these circumstances is a serious offense. It violated a standing stop order and placed the child in clear danger. From the moment officers engaged her, the woman was visibly unhinged, forcing them to escalate their response to ensure the child's safety. >> Matt, >> yes. Please just write down his number. >> Becca, >> go to done. Hit done right there. And then Jesse's, please. Like, y'all know this is what she do. Like, y'all know I've been doing good. No, y'all know I've been doing good for years. This is [ __ ] But >> you don't run. >> No, this is [ __ ] >> Don't with us. You're running with a child. >> Why is she doing this? Cuz all she left was my kid. Bro, >> all you had to do was stalk her. >> No way. So I can go to jail. So I can go to jail. >> I don't even know what you would have done. >> Bro, talk to anybody. We know there was a a potential scuffle between you and your mom. That's all we knew. >> Jesse, you hit info. Right there. It says right there, Jesse. Hit info. Who am I being arrested for? >> You have a warrant. >> Now you're obstructing. You have a warrant. You took off running when I pulled up and said, Abby, stop >> because [ __ ] This is [ __ ] I'm I hate her. Like I hate her. I literally hate her, guys. Like, I've been doing good. Like, this is [ __ ] >> I know. We haven't dealt with you in a long time. >> Okay. So, why are y'all treating me like this? Like, >> running with a child in your >> I was jogging. I can run with >> Not when you tell her to stop. >> He said, "Abby." >> Yeah. And you looked right at me. >> You said Abby. You didn't say stop right away. >> No, I said Abby, stop. And then that's when you took off. So that mean that's your story. Go ahead. >> Ain't nothing in there. Just some clothes. Can we So if I cooperate, can we not do another obstruction, please? Like like if I cooperate, can you not do that? Like I don't want no recharging. I just want to [ __ ] at this point. Like she is I hate her so bad. >> What even happened to you? >> No, I was just in there and she just came and started on me. >> All she does is just call me a piece of [ __ ] [ __ ] worthless. Just remind me of my past. It's like very mentally exhausting. It's just getting old. Like I'm just tired of it. Like I moved back here to save up money because I've been living I've had my three-bedroom house for 3 years now and like it just got tiring being a single mom having to pay all the bills. >> The woman claimed she had simply been cooking when her mother began provoking her and refused to let her leave with the child. She said she felt oppressed, tired, and overwhelmed. Emotionally at her breaking point or anything like that, >> nothing like that. >> I just was begging on the door like, "Open the door and let me get my kids." She's like, "No, you're not taking them nowhere." I said, "I have custody of my kid. Like, you can't tell me what I can and cannot do with my kid like at all." And then that's when she she's like, "If you try taking them, I'm going to call the police." And so that's when she called y'all. >> Okay. >> Why did you decide you want to take off? because she's so annoying. I'm just sick of this. Like I hate her. Like I hate her. And I'm not going to lie. Like I have a warrant in Barber right now. Just um >> we we were notified of that. >> I'm sure you were like >> Well, no. Dispatch found you. We obviously are. >> And like I've been I was going to go I'm been saying that. >> What do you have a warrant for in Barbara? >> Um because I was in the hospital. So, I went into psycho board at Sunrise Vista in Canton and I was supposed to have court and I went in there like I didn't know I had court cuz it was like so soon and I didn't see the court. I didn't get the paper in the mail yet. >> Okay. >> So, when I went in there I guess I had court and I have a doctor's dispute and everything like from me missing court and everything. >> Okay. Well, what's the charge in relation to? Um well well so when I I had an OBI and then they told me they when they sentenced me they told me like if you catch any like just don't catch any charges in the next two years. I was like okay like I didn't know that means I was on probation or anything. So they're like if you yeah if you catch any charges you'll be in trouble. I didn't know that. And so I caught disorderly conduct because the person that was living with me put her hands on me and like and so I called the police and then they came and I was recording them and stuff because they were like she was like trying to make it seem like it was my fault so I was recording so they took me into jail for I think disorderly conduct and yeah I think that's it. And then that was I guess a probation violation. I didn't even know I was on probation. They told me not to get in trouble for 2 years and then yeah. You want to take that and you can take her and I'll take this back to >> here's the bigger picture. She has a young child, no stable job, lives on government assistance, no father in the picture, and is currently living with her mother, but their relationship is deeply strained. She has a recent history of psychiatric hospitalization, multiple past arrests, and an active warrant. In short, a longunning pattern of instability. Hi. >> Hello. >> You can come in. >> All right. He was arrested on a warrant and obstructing cuz he ran from us. But I want to come over and find out what was going on originally brought us here. >> Yeah. So they >> Okay, now he's scared. >> It's okay. He's not going to hurt you, baby. He's okay. Say hi. Say hi. Give him duckles. Give him five. Can you give me five? >> He's a good guy. >> So, she moved in here because she lost her place up there and um she's been driving without a license for like a long time and she bullies me and takes my car. So, I said, "I'm not paying for it anymore." So, I had it repossessed. I'm just like, "I'm just done." So, I told her nicely said, "They're coming to get the car tonight and um we'll just figure something else out." and she just like flipped [ __ ] and was like I have all these messages say she's going to beat my ass and she hopes I die and like I've done nothing but help her her whole entire life and I'm tired of it, you know. So, I've been trying to protect him and try to keep the peace. She just does whatever she wants to do and I >> Is that the keys that were in one of the bags or they to the car? >> I don't know. Did you find anything else in them bags? >> No. >> That's a shocker. She takes off. The guy was coming. She takes off, drives, leaves, says she's leaving. And um I said, "Just come back. Like there's a simple solution to this, you know, like I can't pay for the car. You can't pay for I bought the car for her." Okay. Like when she had a license >> and then she got a DUI, like her second one. I can't pay for the car, you know, and I can't pay for I have two cars. I have my own car and then I had another car. And um so I just said, "I'm going to return it." And she just went crazy. Like >> So what do you mean she went crazy? Like just to start yelling or to become physical? >> Well, she left. She just took off cuz she's like, "I'm taking the car. They're not going to get it." >> According to her mother, the woman regularly drives without a license and often takes the family car without permission. When her mom reclaimed the car recently, it sparked an outburst. She began sending threatening messages, smashed a phone, and became physically aggressive. On the day of the incident, she reportedly barged into the home, grabbed the phone, and stormed off with a child >> originally and then came back. >> So, she left. So, then she came back. I had the door locked cuz she doesn't have keys. And then she was kicking it in. And then I let her in and she got my phone cuz I was talking to the cops because I know she come in. She was going to punch me and I didn't want him to see all that. So, I just let her in. And then she took my phone and threw it out in the yard. And then she grabbed him and went in her bedroom and packed up some stuff. And they went out the front door. And then I was out there gathering up the stuff that was laying in the yard. >> Okay. >> And um I was just kind of watching where she was going cuz she has friends down the road and I didn't want her to go in there and hide, you know? >> I was just watching her and then I saw you guys coming so I went to get him and I don't know why all of this is like this because was nothing, >> you know, like there was nothing. And I don't want him to get taken from us from her. Well, I don't care about her. >> Left with the car the first time. She was sending text messages. Is that right? Well, she was like, I mean, he wanted to go through the whole thing. >> Or how long has this been going on for today? >> I got home at like 5:30 cuz the guy was coming at 6:00. >> Okay. >> So, um, >> did he just leave with the car? I saw a tow truck leaving with the car. Okay. >> He was waiting here cuz I figured she was like, "God, I hate your guts. I wish you would just die already. Get my son dressed so we're leaving." I said, "No, you're not." Yes, I am. I promise you. I said I said, "We can go get my aunt's car and I can drive that for a while." I said, "Bring the car here now. I'm going to call the police. I'll beat your ass." I said, "I'm not doing this to hurt you, Abby. I don't understand why you can't we can't I cannot pay for the car. I can't have we can't have a car if we don't pay for it. That's stealing." Like, that's what I'm trying to get into her head. Not thing is you paid me She paid me $700 at the beginning of the month. I had to move her home, run a U-Haul, all this other stuff. Okay. And then she's like, "I'm literally going to beat the flipping out of you. I'm going to you up. If I come back there without auntie's car right now, I'm going to up and literally will beat the brakes off of you. I'm about to you up. I'm I'm out. I'm leaving town." >> She was ultimately arrested and charged with obstruction and making threats to cause harm. Possible consequences include jail time, intensified probation, or mandatory mental health treatment. But beyond the legal repercussions, she had already broken trust, inflicting lasting emotional trauma on both her mother and her child. Her actions shattered what little stability remained. And finally, it all ends with a woman who truly believes she has the right to take over an Airbnb like she owns the place. On July 20th, 2024, police were called to an Airbnb after the host reported that a woman refused to leave despite being asked to vacate for causing disturbances and fighting with neighbors. What should have been a routine removal turned into a full-blown meltdown. And here's how it all went down. >> He wants he wants you to go. >> What am I supposed to do? >> Do you have friends that can pick you up? >> No. I I've been sitting here I've done nothing wrong. Like I'm not I'm not trying to get upset. I'm really trying to like the people that lived over there had a problem with me. >> Mhm. I didn't say a single thing and there's nothing wrong with me staying here and if they want to refund me they can refund me the whole price. I'm not going to just leave from everything >> and and that's something that's going to be between you and them. I'm not going to but I'm not going to leave and show you everything. But I did not I did not bother them. They came over here because they had a problem with I I don't even know where not even not even with me. >> We're okay. >> I don't even have my car here. I don't have my car. >> And that's why we can facilitate >> and I don't care. But I don't care. But I'm not going to leave here just because they have a problem. They were coming over. Can I understand that, but they don't have a problem with me? >> I wasn't They don't have a problem with me. >> You're trying to ask if they have a pro. I did not say anything to them. >> That's not what I'm saying. >> But I'm trying to tell them they don't have a problem. I just >> It doesn't matter. Homeowner, >> can I I don't really want to talk to both of you >> because I don't think it's fair. I'm not trying to talk to two people. I do not do anything. I do not do any a single thing. Two people. >> Have you ever stayed at a hotel before you got kicked out? >> Yes. I don't want to talk to you anymore. I don't. I'm sorry. From the moment officers arrived, the woman was clearly disconnected from reality, uncooperative, dramatic, and locked into victim mode. The officers followed standard deescalation protocol, calm voices, gentle reasoning, even suggesting she moved to a nearby hotel as a peaceful alternative, but she wasn't having it. >> What we're what we're trying to tell you right now, >> you're telling me I need to leave. I get it. >> You know why we're doing that? >> Because somebody called the cops. They called the cops saying I didn't leave because they were saying I was disturbing them. I was not doing the homeowner called. >> Hey Pickrol, they're alarmed and disturbed by your actions. >> Okay, put your hands behind your back. Step out. >> No, I'm not. I didn't. >> No, I didn't do anything. >> Where are you? I didn't do anything. >> No, I didn't. >> Oh, okay. Now you're going to get resistance. >> I'm not I'm not even moving. Yes, you are. >> I'm not. I'm not. >> Would you stop so I can adjust these so they don't tighten on you? >> Shut up for 5 seconds. >> Shut up for 5 seconds. Listen to what are you saying? >> I'm not yelling. He's yelling at me. I'm not. >> Yeah, because you're not listening and you're moving. >> You're moving and you're not listening. >> I'm not moving. I'm not moving. >> Turn. >> Stop. >> I'm not moving. I'm not moving. >> Stop moving. You stand there so I can adjust these. >> Moving. I'm not moving. I'm not going. I'm not. >> Okay. >> Take a seat on the ledge. Take a seat on the ledge. What all do you have in here? >> I don't take a seat. >> I don't What is >> Take a seat right there. >> You are fine. >> You don't need to tell me to see the ledge. I don't have any. >> I don't. Why are you talking to me like that? >> Because you're not listening. You need to listen. >> I don't have any. I don't >> need to listen. Shut. Please don't talk to me. I don't I can't talk to you anymore. >> Okay, that's fine. >> I can't I don't want to talk to you. >> You're going to go to jail. I was going to give you an NTA with a piece of paper. You're going to be free to go, >> but now you're going to go to jail. Come on. Stand up. Come on. >> I'm walk. >> You have shoes. >> I'm going to go. >> No, it's in the house. Can Can we please go get your squad car or something? >> I don't Please. I don't want to >> stop. We're not doing this. >> No, I'm not. No, please stop talking to me like that. >> Turn around. I'm not doing anything. >> Stop. >> I'm not doing anything. >> Would you stop moving? >> I'm trying to get my shoes. >> We will get them for you. >> Can I get my shoes? I don't even live here. Why are you throwing me like that? >> Why are you throwing me like that? I'm just >> I'm not throwing you. >> Then came the resistance. She began pulling away and refusing lawful orders. Even though it wasn't aggressive at first, it still counted as obstructing officers. Truth is, most people never get kicked out of an Airbnb. She put herself in that position, then played confused when consequences showed up. >> Walk. >> No. >> Okay. >> You're a piece of [ __ ] >> No, that's fine. >> I don't want to talk to you. >> That's fine. >> I don't want you to touch me anymore. >> Okay. >> No, I I don't really care. I have the right. >> Well, you're the one that got yourself in this predicament by your actions. I don't really care about any of you have to say this to say because you know what I have the rights. >> Okay. I am trying to help you right now. >> Please help me. >> Can I say something? But I need you to hear you saying something. >> Can I please say something? >> Can I please say something without you talking and interrupting me? No, I don't want him interrupting me. I Please >> can I just No. Can I just say something to you? Please. I've been trying one more chance to say something. >> I've been trying to >> Okay. What are you trying to say? >> I'm not trying to interrupt anybody. I'm not trying to interrupt anybody. I'm >> I just want to >> stand up for >> Stand up now. >> Stand up. >> No. Stop. >> Edward 9. You're 24. You're free. >> I don't care why you don't touch me. >> Get up. Get up. Get your door open. Don't touch me. Don't touch me anymore. You're going to go to jail. You're going to all go to jail. Don't touch me anymore cuz my cop My dad is a dad. I don't >> I don't care. >> Watch your name. >> No, I don't care. >> Watch your name. >> I don't care. You're going to go to jail. My dad is a cop. I don't care. I don't care. Once placed in the patrol car, she went into full tantrum mode, biting, thrashing, damaging the inside of the cruiser that forced officers to apply stronger restraints. What started as a civil issue quickly escalated into a serious criminal matter in the car. >> I can't wait for you guys to go to jail. Stop. >> Knock it off. >> I don't care. Give a what you have to say. >> You're going to get more charges. >> I don't. >> Stop. >> No. >> And >> knock it off. >> I don't give a care. >> She broke it. So that's going to be criminal damage to government property. >> I don't care. Go whatever you want. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. Just whatever. Just get me out of here. I don't care. >> You're not getting out of anywhere. >> I don't care. You're You're actually You should not touch me in the crotch. You should >> touching the crotch. It's on body cam. >> You did. No, I didn't. He said not to. >> It smells so good in here. [Music] >> No. No. Not at all. >> No. Not going. >> No. >> Stop trying to kick. Stop trying to kick. >> No. >> No. God damn it. >> God damn it. You stupid [ __ ] >> Knock it off. >> Why do you think this is going to help you? >> God damn it. >> [ __ ] Christ. >> This is not a problem. This be a lot easier if you stopped acting like a child. [Applause] >> Got it. Okay. Pull it tight. Try to tighten it down. >> At the hospital for a medical check, she continued to spiral, yelling, flailing, refusing to comply. Officers had to restrain her again. At this point, it wasn't just about law enforcement. It felt like she was fighting reality itself. >> Honey, just shut up and do what we tell you to do. >> No, I'm I am. I'm not. >> All right. Pull your feet. Kick your feet. >> I'm not being rude, but there's no reason to choke me. >> No one's choking. >> Oh, hey guys. >> Like all those people. >> Congratulations. >> Hey, watch that. Uh, >> watch. >> Yeah. Watch. Everybody's going to jail, losing their jobs. You know Jim Martinkus. >> You know Jim Martinkus. You guys are all losing your your license. Jim Martinkus is the one. He's the one. You guys are all losing your license. You know how many cops he's got arrested and lost their jobs? I cannot wait until Joe hears about all Don't start doing that. We might have to slide her over. Well, the problem is we can't just let her bang her head. Yeah, you can't. Right. Right. >> Oh. >> All right. We're just between the arm. Yeah. >> Out of it. >> All right. Let's see. >> Did she take the seat belt off? >> No, I didn't. But I can. But I can I can take it off. Watch. Watch. It's off of me. You see that? It's just got off of me. I just took it off of me. I just took the seat belt off of me. You understand? >> But good job. [Music] >> No. [Music] really not okay in the car. >> Eventually, she was booked into jail and hit with several charges. Disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, destruction of government property. If convicted, she could be facing steep fines up to one year in jail or even more depending on the extent of the damage. Some stories are hard to watch, but even harder to ignore. On December 11th, 2023, police were called to a home where a woman named Tamara had allegedly barricaded herself inside after kicking her fiance out. The guy was worried she might be trashing the place and needed help getting his stuff back. But once officers showed up, things spiraled fast. >> They'll come out to like see who's here. >> Oh, she's got the dog locked up. I know. >> Cuz we don't want to I don't want an aggressive dog. >> Sheriff's office. Tammy, you got to get the dog in the closet or something or in the bathroom. >> I'm sorry that it had to come to this. You leave me no choice. I'm getting my stuff out. >> Hey, Tammy. This is the sheriff's office. Would you mind coming to the the balcony to talk to me for a minute, please? >> All right. Well, what about the stuff that's down here? Can you get your meds? >> And then, >> hey, Tammy, would you mind coming to the at least so we can we can talk face to face, please? >> Computer. >> She may have not say that this is true, but she could get your stuff, >> but I mean, he can get his stuff. He says he lives here. >> Are they married? >> And she said, "You took everything. You don't you don't live here anymore." Or something like that. quicker she comes to this railing, the quicker we all can go through and get it. But he said that dog is not friendly. It's protective of her and this house. >> Are you trying to call her? >> No. >> I was actually just made a list last night cuz I have a feeling this is >> Do me a favor. Try to call her. >> Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice message system. >> All right. >> I know she's going in there. She's destroying all this stuff. If you find out it's wreck, that's criminal damage. We can >> cuz it doesn't belong to her. >> How long have you lived here? >> About 2 years. We're engaged. >> Congratulations. >> Danny. >> Danny. Where's R? >> At this point, Tamara's hold up upstairs with a seriously aggressive dog and signs of possible mental instability. Rushing in could have turned into a dangerous mess. That's why officers stuck to protocol, avoiding direct confrontation, especially in cases where mental health is a factor. The dog better not come after us. >> Hey, can you need that door's open? You need to control that dog. Please, >> Tammy. That dog bites us. That dog's going to be in trouble. I'm just telling you that right now. Control your dog. >> Tammy, we can't hear you because of the dog. >> Granny, no weapons in the house. >> No. >> Okay. Are you able to control the dog? >> I We're more worried about that that dog getting through the door. What kind of dog is it? It's like a champagne mix. >> Jimmy, we can't hear you over the dog. >> Call your supervisor. >> I am the supervisor. >> Come talk to me. >> When you're treated badly, you don't react badly. You know what that says? >> Yeah. If you are treated badly, don't react badly. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. >> Can you get her number and try calling her? Maybe a different number going through. So, she has your number blocked. >> You're denying him of his stuff. You cannot do that. >> He's a liar. Get out of my house. I am not going to have to touch me again. >> Right. Exactly. He doesn't want to house now. >> He wants to get his stuff. >> Have anything in here. You are getting me sicker and you're harassing me. >> Tammy, we are not harassing you. >> Yes, you are. >> No. >> I'm calling the cops. >> Ma'am, where are the police? Go ahead. >> We have Tamara on the line at that address. She's saying that the deputies are harassing her and that the male abused her and that she's locked in a room. >> Yeah, I'm standing outside her bedroom door and she doesn't want to listen or come talk to us. >> She says she's sick with CO. >> She has CO? Of course she does. Somebody grab a mask. >> Got one in my Got one in my pocket. >> Yeah. Grab my mask. Well, he was 100% right to call. This is this is how she's reacting. 100%. Yeah. >> I mean, this is not >> Yeah, I would have called, too. It's not normal. >> She got a call, but she got >> She knows that she's a little But she's not dumb. Yeah. >> People dealing with borderline personality disorder or bipolar disorder often see others in extremes. either all good or all bad. That's called psychological splitting. Right now, Tamara sees the cops as the bad guys out to get her while painting herself as the ultimate victim. >> Get out of my house now. Get out of my house now. >> He wants his stuff. >> She lays a hand. >> Lay a hand on me. >> Get out of my house now. Get out of my house. Get out of my house now. Get out of my house. Get you my dog. Back up. Get out of my house. Get out of my house. Don't go out of my house. Don't touch me. >> Get out. I don't want you in my house. Get out of my house. >> No traffic. >> I want him out of my house. I have co. Okay. >> Get out of my house. I have co to work. >> Yes, I am. Get out of my house. I'm sick. >> You're an anesthesiologist. You >> get out of my house. Relax. >> Don't touch me. You idiot. >> You're going to jail now. You just pushed an officer. >> I did not. Help me. >> Relax. >> No, I'm not. Help me. >> Tell me. Help me. Help me. Help me. Help me. You pushed me. What's his name? >> You've been pushing. >> No, I did not. Pushing pushing. Get my hand. >> You're spitting. >> Leave my hand alone. You're hurting me. >> Oh my god. Leave me alone. No, I don't. >> Don't kick. >> Get off me. I got to go to the bathroom. You mother >> for female >> son of a >> get off me. >> Scream. >> I got to go to the bathroom. >> I got to use the bathroom. Are you going to grab that? >> Damn it. I got to use the bathroom. >> You got to calm down. >> I got to use fighting. >> Get him. Stop fighting off me. Get him off me. I have to use the bathroom. Son of a >> This is my house. Son of a No, you're hurting me. >> I've got to go to the bathroom. It's hurting my wrist. I can't move this badam. It's hurting my >> This is when things hit an emotional peak. Tamara lashes out at the officers, not just from impulse, but from deep, pent up inner conflict. Getting her into the patrol car was no walk in the park. It took serious effort and patience to avoid making things worse. >> Son of a relax. You pushed me to the ground cuz you were hitting everybody. >> I wasn't hitting. I am going to file a lawsuit against you guys. >> God damn it. It's hurting my >> You are hurting me. You are in my house attacking me. >> And you let your mean dog out on us. I didn't let my mean dog on I knew you wouldn't leave. I'd have to use the bathroom. Damn it. You're hurting my hair me under the floor. >> Yes, because you were pushing us. >> No, I wasn't pushing at you. >> We're past that. >> No, you're a liar. You suck. >> You kicked me in the crotch. >> Come on. >> I'm not doing this. >> You just kicked me in the groin. >> Get away from me. Good lord. >> Damn it. >> Are you all right? >> You're going to jail. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. Damn it. >> See your backpack? >> You don't see your backpack? >> No, sir. >> Laptop, all that. Your all that stuff? >> Yeah. I mean, I if I get my wallet, should you find your wallet? >> Wallet and laptop. The rest is >> check the other rooms and see if your stuff's there. >> Well, your medication or hers? >> That's hers. >> What is all is she on? >> I don't know what kind of like behavioral meds she on behavioral meds, too. >> Some sort. >> Okay. Like what? >> I honestly don't know. >> She's helping. >> You're in my house harassing me with an abusive guy. >> You kicked my partner. >> You let your dog loose on us. It bit me. It me. >> You know what? You shouldn't be in my house. >> Okay. It's his house, too. >> No, it's not. He's got his personal belongings here. >> He doesn't. It's not his house. No, he doesn't. And that's what I've been trying to tell you guys. And you have to talk to us. >> No, I did tell you. And I told him and I want to use mail from now cuz I got all over myself. I am. >> How can someone be trusted with other people's lives when they're not even stable enough to control their own? That's the big question here. If she still holds a license to practice, especially in the medical field, it might be time for that to be reviewed, if not revoked. >> He's got a lot of stuff up there. Full closet of clothes. >> He's pulling it off. He's getting it all. >> Ridiculous. >> I have been sick in the back with the runs. Hello. This guy has been gone for months and now you guys come in and you bring an abuser back into my house to hurt me over what clothes. There's nothing in there but clothes. >> It's still his belongings. >> Face. I have the flu. I've had CO. I have I don't have CO. You told me. >> You said you had CO. >> You told me I didn't. >> I didn't say that. I don't know. I don't know. >> Do you have CO or do you not? >> I did have CO. Yeah. >> When? >> Stop biting us. >> He He threw me on the floor. >> Okay. >> I'm going to lose circulation. Stop holding my arm. I am not that big and you're cutting off the circulation with my hand. Knock usually one second. >> Hold on one second. >> What's that? Husband or >> engaged? Who's been She's got a tray of meds upstairs on the dresser. >> She's here. >> Should I ask him some questions? >> You sure can. >> Find all your stuff. >> No, I'm still Keep looking. Keep looking. Yeah. Have you heard him? I had a laptop. >> No. No. She ain't got it. >> He was so happy. We didn't do anything wrong. >> Oh, no. In fact, we let him go. We let it go few seconds, few minutes long in the show. >> Especially with the dog her being upset or angry. >> Yeah, we get it. We tried to calm her down and then she pushed him, pushed you, she pushed me. It elevated to the point. >> I don't see any uh anything that sticks out. It doesn't look like she took anything more than she was supposed to. It doesn't even look like she took her pills today, which could be the problem as well. I need a release. >> You need Sorry, what? >> I'll need some sort of release that she's fit to go to jail. >> Oh, okay. >> If she doesn't push all of us, kick me in the balls. >> Oh, man. Okay. Uh, >> yeah. I mean, she's right now. >> Yeah. >> And I am being left all over alone with these guys. Absolutely not. >> Are you going to put these pants on? Yes or no? >> No. I have I'm I'm soiled. >> How am I going to put pants on? I'm soiled all the way up my back and my t-shirt from you guys. >> It's not from us. No, it's not from us. >> Yes, it is from you. >> No. >> Yes, it is from you. These guys have been abused have been walked in my house and now they're going to fake. Can you please help me get up and >> No, I don't think they want us want to stand. We have to follow. We have stuff we have to follow. We have to The officers requesting you stay right here. >> So, yeah, if you guys have an extra sheet or a blanket or something like that, if she's refusing to wear pants, then if you guys wouldn't mind >> floating a sheet. The officers were right to request a medical clearance before booking. By law, you can't detain someone if their mental state poses a threat to themselves or others unless a medical evaluation confirms it. In the end, Tamar was arrested on three felony counts of assaulting a police officer. What kind of sentence do you think fits this situation? Drop your thoughts in the comments. So, what happens when your doctor drives without all four wheels on the road? On July 27th, 2024, officers were dispatched after a report of a barefoot little boy soaked in pajamas and visibly shaken, wandering dangerously close to a busy highway. It was a situation too dangerous to ignore. But what came next uncovered a story no one saw coming. >> Buddy, where do you live? >> You live over here. >> What's your name? >> Oh, buddy. I know, >> buddy. What's mommy's name? Do you live over here? >> Yeah. >> Over there. >> Where'd you see him exactly? >> No, right here. Right here. >> Right here. >> Right here. We were coming. We were headed down to the airport. >> Oh, I appreciate you guys stopping. >> He was all wet, too. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. He's flying. >> He's walking barefoot, I believe. So, I have a feeling maybe he walked off from his apartment. Yeah, I know. And I think I have a feeling where and it's going to be >> and I think the parents are on the way. Yeah. >> No, unfortunately the moms I have a sick feeling. I know where I know the way the world works with ironicness and police work. This is I guarantee I have a sick feeling this is going to be the complaintants kid from the other earlier call. >> He was the complainant's child. >> When I knocked on the door, she's like, "Yeah, this guy's I reconnected with him after high school. He's been acting weird. Now he woke my kid up. >> We're going to go to the police and sort it all out. Let me see if I have a car seat. Just a minute. >> So, I mean, I kind of want to see if he can point me out to where he lives. He's He keeps pointing over here. >> Well, yeah. I'm assuming he does come for me here. >> I mean, I hate to say it. I almost want to call this woman and be like, "Hey, Brooke. I just want to make sure he's not your kid." She had a child, a 2-year-old, she said, was awake that he woke up, a boy. And ironically enough, now I have a boy walking in the same area. >> Yeah. >> He was he was walking along the side and I still >> on this side of >> Yeah. But we were headed um south on on 31st. >> Okay. And we're passing by. He says, "Hey, you see what I'm saying?" I talk to my wife. I says, "Yeah, the the boy seems to be frantic and crying." I said, "Whoa." I says, "He's in his pajamas." You know, >> we're going to get him all. >> And so what happened is that Oh, he's got cross. He says, "Do something." So I turned around really quick. >> You did good, sir. Gut feeling. >> Is your mom's name Brooke? >> Yeah. I hope your mom's not I hope I'm wrong. It's just so ironic that she told me when with that guy that she was that that she woke her son that she woke his son up. The officers gently tried to ask the child where he lived and what his mom's name was, but he was far too young to give a clear answer. One officer suspected the boy might be connected to a 911 call from earlier that morning involving a woman reporting a drunk man inside her home. With no time to waste, the child was brought back to the station. DCFS was notified and a welfare check on the mother's home was immediately set into motion. >> Oh, wait. >> Sorry. Just before you get all like have to pick her up real fast or whatever, like just try to bag again. >> No, just try and talk to her. Like >> I know how to do my job. >> I know. >> You're being very micromanagy today. I understand you're mad at Ryan, but you're taking it out on me and it's getting frustrating. All right. I know how to do this and if you want to go do it, you can go do it. Huh? >> I'm going to take the child to the police. You want to go do this or not? >> I said yes. >> Okay, I will go take care of it. >> [ __ ] [ __ ] Hi. >> This is going to sound crazy, Brooke. There's no knock on you. How old your kid? >> He's He just turned three. >> What's he wearing? >> Is he not here? >> I'm going to I have a feeling he's not. >> Oh, you're saying he's not >> Go. I don't know. Go. Is he wearing blue stripe pajamas? >> Yes. I'm sorry. I fell back asleep. I've been up since 5:00 in the morning. >> How much you have to drink last night? >> Can we come in? >> Yeah, you can come in. >> Bruce, come on. >> Oh my god. Stop. Don't tell me this is true. >> Where is he? >> I have him. >> I might have a panic attack right now. >> How much did you have to drink last night, Brooke? >> I had one beer. >> One beer all night. >> Yes. I'm sick. I'm getting over a cold. I'm sorry. I'm about to have a panic attack right now. Oh god. He got over his gate. I was literally sleeping. I didn't wake up till like 5:00 in the morning. >> Okay. So, he was in here. Yes. >> In here. And he when I was here when I was here earlier, you said he was awake and I said, "Go pay attention to your child." >> Yes. And then he fell back asleep. >> I promise you he fell back asleep. Oh my god. >> How much alcohol do you think's in your system right now? >> You need to be honest with me now. I I don't think I don't think he only had one beer. He He was walking around with a bottle of tequila. >> That's when things started falling apart. The mother, Brooke, began giving inconsistent answers about how much she'd had to drink. Her timeline didn't line up. Officers picked up on the holes in her story, which pointed to a lack of active supervision of the child, a major red flag in any case involving child safety. >> Can I call my mom? >> Not right now. >> I don't know how he keeps getting >> Has this happened before? >> Yes. Yes. He's gotten like out the door before. I literally bought something right here. >> What's his name? >> Crew. >> Crew. >> Yeah. I bought this that goes over the door. >> Okay. And why isn't it on there? >> It doesn't fit. It doesn't fit. And I mean, you can see I've tried putting it on a million times and now I have to order a new one. Are you willing to take a breathalyzer? I want to see where you're at alcohol-wise. >> Yes. >> 21 from 31. Can you grab me a PBT and meet me up here, please? Cuz I I don't know what to do at this point. Like, I'm going to be honest. Like, this is it's >> I cannot believe this. I was up all night >> putting over a cold. >> I know. You were up all night with a guy you had over. >> Yes. And I don't ever want to see that guy again. And I >> So here's here's how outside perception looks. >> You had to call 911 this morning. What time was that about 5? >> Yeah, like 5:00 in the morning. >> Because a drunk guy that you were partying with, you hooked back up from high school was over and you no longer wanted to party with him. When you were in your ear when I was here earlier, your mascara was all running. You looked clearly disheveled. >> You look clearly You look clearly intoxicated. >> Okay. And now 2 hours later after you told me your child was awake, instead of going to take care of him, it appears to me he went and passed out. >> So I'm saying, >> the breathalyzer is going to help you a lot cuz if you're going to come back low, that's going to help your case. >> Okay, that's fine. I'll do a breathalyzer. >> So I have an officer coming with an breath test to see where you're at. >> But this looks bad. Do you at least agree with that? >> Yeah, I totally agree. Yes. >> All right. At the very least, can you do me a favor? Can you Cuz your child's at the police department. I don't know how long he's going to stay there cuz I'm going to call DCFS. >> Turns out Brooke had been drinking with her ex the night before and left her child unattended. That alone prompted police to notify DCFS and put a full plan into action. The officers handled it with professionalism and followed every legal protocol to a tea. They knew exactly what they were dealing with. Potential child endangerment. >> I haven't decided if I'm going to arrest you or not yet. >> Why would I get arrested? >> Child endangerment? I know, but I but he climbed over the gate >> that I was sleeping. >> I understand that >> and that would be fine >> if we didn't have the prior contact with you. The prior contact with you does not help. >> I was here 2 hours prior. >> Yeah. >> When you clearly appeared intoxicated kicking your intoxicated >> hookup out because he was walking around with a bottle of tequila. >> Okay. >> You told me then the child was awake. I told you go tend to your child. >> Yeah, you did. >> And you went back to sleep. >> Well, he also went back to sleep. I put my son back to sleep also. >> He was asleep. >> Yes. I put him back to sleep. Put him back in bed. And then I went into my room and I went to bed. >> And he was awake by the guy not wanting to leave. >> Yes. That's what he was up for at like I don't know. It probably started like 1:00 in the morning. He was yelling all around my house and everything. I tried getting him out of here multiple times. I called his sister multiple multiple times. I left her messages. She wouldn't answer. And you know, I called you guys. You guys got him out of here. I had my son, put him back in his bed and everything. I turned the TV on for him so he can just lay down, relax, and then I went to bed. >> Was he sleeping when you went to went to bed? >> Yeah, he was tired. >> I didn't ask He was tired. I had no see. Now I've asked you was he asleep or did you just lay him down in front of the TV and go lay down? Did you lay with your child long enough? >> I laid with him for a couple minutes and he stayed laying down but he didn't. >> But he was not asleep. >> No, probably not. >> So you So you went to sleep leaving your child laying in his bed watching TV? >> Yes. His gate up and everything. My door was open and I fell back asleep and I literally just woke up now hearing the buzzer go off and I come running out here. >> I want to make a phone call quick. Even though Brooke agreed to take a breathalyzer and blew a 0.00 that didn't erase what happened the night before, the evidence still pointed to neglect while under the influence. Based on that, officers arrested her for child endangerment. >> Do they take him? >> I don't know. I don't know what they're going to do. I have to let Alfill in with what we have. And >> well, I mean, whenever DCFS is involved in something, they take the people's kids. >> Not always. Not always. I mean, you think that they'll get me my son back today? >> I don't know, bro. I don't want to tell you one answer. It's going to be something else. [Music] >> You called DCFS. You said I do get to see my son. >> Yeah, I'd imagine. Well, what I'm going to hope to do is then I'm going to after I call DCFS, I'm going to come back. I'll take you out of the cell. I'll book you >> and then I'll give you all your paperwork to release you. Then I'll take you up to the lobby and I'll let you sit with your munchkin. >> Okay. >> Until we figure out what's going on, right? >> Okay. Until like DCFS decides what they want to do. >> Cuz they're going to want some kind of safety plan into effect. >> Okay. Um I mean what do they think that like I'm a bad mom or something? >> Look, you're not a bad mom. You just bad make bad decisions. One bad decision does not make you a bad mom. I know. I never make bad decisions. >> I never do. Like I'm a good person. I have a good job. I love my son. >> And it's just like crazy. Like you can like not watch your your kid for like anything can happen within a minute, too. >> I know. >> Do you give a report to DCFS? >> Oh, yeah. I got a That's going to be a full report. He said my breathalyzer was completely zero. >> 3947. 3947. Yeah, you came back total zero, which is good. >> Your incident is >> Yeah. I don't ever lie. You know, I only had I had a beer and a shot last night. Literally like early in the night. >> Yeah. >> And then dealt with a crazy person for hours after that. And I've never even called the police. And like I should have called the police. I should have called you guys like way earlier. >> Yeah. >> Brooke was booked into jail and formally charged. A safety plan was put in place with DCFS and she was eventually released and reunited with her son. But make no mistake, this case isn't closed. Authorities will be keeping a close eye on what happens next. And if you've ever believed that gentle parenting can never go too far, just wait until you see what happens when every boundary disappears and the consequences come crashing in. On September 24th, 2024, police were dispatched after a concerned husband reported that his wife, a nurse, was driving drunk with their two young children in the car. He'd heard the kids describe her behavior over the phone and used their iPad's GPS to track the vehicle's location. When officers caught up with her, what they uncovered was alarming. >> Hey, I'm Officer Shoemaker with the Alfall Police Department. >> Can you do me a favor? Go ahead and shut the vehicle off and step outside for me. Okay. >> Okay. Oh Lord, what happened? >> What happened? >> You got blood all over your leg and you got stuff everywhere. >> Oh, that that is uh Yeah, I just scratching. >> Just scratching. Can you come over here? >> Yeah. >> So, where are we where were we headed tonight? >> Um I was taking my girls to a dance class. >> To dance class? >> Yeah. >> Where were you coming from? >> Edwardsville. >> Edwardsville. Is that where you picked them up at? >> Um, no. I picked them up in school. >> Where did they go to school at? >> Um, yeah. >> Okay. Where were you at before you picked him up from school? >> My house. >> Where's that at? >> Edwardsville. >> Edwardsville. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Were you drinking at all today? >> No. >> No. >> You had nothing to drink today? >> No. >> No. Okay. Cuz your your eyes look like they're a little red, a little glossy. >> No. I Yeah. and and having the the little fall down thing, the way we got the car parked. There's there's a lot of things that kind of allude to the fact that you've probably been drinking a little bit. >> So, >> okay, whatever. >> Do you take medications? >> I do. >> What kind of medications do you take? >> I take a >> Okay. >> And I take um uh um sorry. So, I take um Hang on. >> No, we're going to stay right here. So, you take When did you take >> um this morning? >> This morning? >> Yeah. >> What time? >> Uh probably about 6. >> What other kind of medication did you take with it? >> Um fish oil. >> Okay. >> Uh CoQ10. Um and then probably vitamin B. Vitamin D. >> So, so where is dance at? dance is um down the street. >> What's the name of the place? >> The woman claimed she was taking her kids to dance class, but couldn't remember the name of the studio, even though she insisted she'd been there before. Her story kept shifting. Her speech grew strange. She was clearly disoriented, and the strong smell of alcohol confirmed officers worse suspicions. They had more than enough reason to initiate a field sobriety test. >> Is there a reason we're having a hard time getting there today? Because >> no. >> Well, so you we were made aware, okay, of of your potential condition. Okay. Well, before we came in in contact with you >> and you have been back and forth over here quite a bit. Okay. >> No, not quite a bit. Maybe twice. >> Okay. That's still more than normal. If you know where you're going, it doesn't seem normal to >> It's not more than normal, but Okay. Water. >> So So water. >> Yeah. Water. >> Okay. So, what I'd like to do is I'd like to run you through a couple of tests because I can smell the alcohol in your breath. Okay? Uh your your your speech does appear to be altered. All right? And you've had a difficult time locating a place that you've been to more than more than one time. Okay? So, I'd like to run you through a couple tests just to make sure that you're okay to drive. All right. >> If you are okay to drive, okay, then no harm, no foul, and we'll go from there. >> Does that sound okay? >> Yeah. >> Fantastic. Um I almost wonder if they'll let us inside the KC Hall. >> Fine. It's not pouring it rain. that bad. >> Yeah, but I have eye abnormalities right now. >> That's normal [ __ ] >> Well, it's normal. I don't know what normal would be. Normal to me is not having any eye abnormalities. So, what kind of eye abnormalities would you have that you would consider to be normal? >> I don't know. So, just >> Okay. You don't want to help. Uh, so what I need you to do is go ahead and stand with your heels and toes together, hands at your side, just like this. Okay. >> And I'm going you remain in that position until the test concludes. All right. Focus on the tip of my finger. Follow my finger with your eyes only without moving your head. Do not take your eyes off my finger until we have completed the test. Do you understand? [Music] >> Can you Can you see my thing? Keep both of your eyes open for me. All right. [Applause] Keep your heels and toes together for me. Heels and toes toes together. Heels and toes together. Keep your arms at your side. Okay. >> Okay. >> Just focus on the tip of my finger. Nope. You're okay. All right, you got to you got to stay focused on the tip of my finger. >> During the eyetracking test, she failed to keep her head still and kept snapping her gaze back to the center instead of following the officer's hand. Okay, you can blink, but you got to make sure you stay focused. Okay. Okay. You're going to do that one over again. You got to be able to stay focused on the tip. Okay. You keep going back to center. You got to stay on my finger. All right. >> I apologize. Okay. >> Stay focused on tip my finger. Okay. We got a couple finger. Keep your heels and toes together for me. All right. Well, >> you got to stay still. >> I'm sorry. >> Okay. You ready? >> Yep. >> Can you see my finger still? >> Yes. >> All right. >> Okay. You got to keep your head straight. Follow with your eyes only. Okay. I know you you may not think you're moving your head, but you're moving your head. You got to keep your head still. >> Okay. >> Okay. The last one we're going to do is we're going to go straight up. Keep your head still. Eyes follow. All right. You ready? We're go straight up. You got to keep your eyes focused. Okay. >> Sorry. Okay. >> Heels and toes together, arms down at your side. Okay. We're going to go straight up. One more time. Straight up. Okay. All right. You can go and relax for just a second. Okay. The next thing we're going to do is do what's called a walk and turn. Okay. Do you have any leg injuries, back injuries, anything that would keep you from being able to walk a straight line? >> Um, this hip is >> It's like a pretty straight line here on the ground for you. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you think you'd be able to walk that pretty straight? >> I I mean, I think >> Okay. And are those shoes pretty comfortable? I know you've you've fallen already. We've got some scrapes on her leg. >> Oh, no. This is just from the dogs. >> It's just from the dogs. >> Yeah. Okay. All right. So, what I want you to do is I want you to place your left foot on the line. >> Okay. >> Yep. Right foot in front of your left, touching heel to toe >> and keep your arms at your side. >> And then you're going to stay in that position until I tell you to begin. Do you understand? >> Then came the walk and turn. She claimed to have hip problems, but couldn't provide any medical documentation and had no work restrictions to back up her story. Officers weren't buying it. Now put your right foot in front of your left and put your hands down at your side and remain in that position. Heel touching toe and remain in that position until I tell you to begin. Do you understand? >> Yeah. >> Are we going to be able to stand in position there for me? >> No, it's my hip. >> No. Okay. >> Okay. I don't want you I don't want you to get hurt. Okay. So, if we're unable to stand still >> Okay. >> I don't want you to fall and get hurt. Okay. So, if we can't perform the >> test fall and get hurt either. Um, it's just my hip. >> Okay. So, you do >> do you work anywhere? >> Yeah, I work at the VA. >> You work at the VA? What do you do at the VA? >> I'm a nurse. >> Okay. So, does that require a lot of standing and walking stuff? Do you have any restrictions at work where you can't stand for time? >> Yes, but it's just a lot of like they're like come balance. And I'm like, I can't really balance. >> But there's no you have no work restrictions from the doctor or anything like that saying you can't do certain activities or anything like that? >> Not at all. >> Okay. All right. So, can we try again to stay stay in position? >> Try again. >> Yeah, for sure. >> All right. So, what we're going to do, Hold on. Before you do it, I'm going to kind of give you a rundown. >> All right. Well, I'm going to give you a quick rundown. >> So, what you're going to do is you're going to put your left foot on the line, >> right foot in front of the the left, heel touching toe, >> and your arms out to the side. You have to stay in that position until I tell you to begin the test. Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, go ahead. Left foot on the line. Right foot in front of the left. Arms down at the side. Arms down at your Okay. >> I just I've just balanced. >> Okay. But you've got to have your your heel touching toe. Okay. Just like that. Okay. Stay in that position. That's how I tell you to begin. Do you understand? >> Yeah. [Music] >> I'm just I can't balance. Okay. All right. >> Do you have a PBT on them? >> Wolf does. >> Wolf does. >> We got a PBT. >> I do. >> Okay. Um, with you not being able to maintain balance for that one. >> Though she identified herself as a nurse, she had no paperwork to prove any physical limitations. Lying about that could come back to haunt her in court. Out of caution, officers skipped the rest of the physical tests and move straight to a breathalyzer. >> What we do have here is we have a PBG. It's called portable breath test. Okay. Um, >> so if you're willing to, you blow into this until I say to stop. It's just like blowing up a balloon. >> Yeah. Can I Can I sit? >> Nope. We're going to stand right here. Okay. >> Um, I I don't think you're really allowing me to sit. >> You're correct. I'm not allowing you to sit. And I'm not allowing you to to get back inside of your vehicle. >> Okay. Well, I think you need to allow me to sit. >> I do not need to allow you to sit. >> Okay. Well, then we're we're we're going to um we're gonna >> What are we going to do? >> You're you're going to allow me to sit. >> No. >> Yeah, you are. >> No, we're not going to argue about it. So, do you want do you want to >> You're right. We're not going to argue. >> All right. Do me a favor. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. You're under arrest. We're driving under the influence of alcohol. >> We're going to walk over here. >> Okay. Let's go. >> Go ahead. Step in there. Careful. I got you. No. >> Hey, sorry. I didn't expect to be doing anything on the way to drive Taylor off. What was your first name again? >> You go away. >> Okay. >> Is your name? >> It's Go Away. >> Will stand over here. I could smell it. >> Oh, god. It was It was >> water actually. >> Is it? Well, she's trying to seal up. It was very, very strong. >> Oh, yeah. >> Oh, when we pulled up, did you you were right here. When we pulled up with the windows down, they were screaming and crying. Grab some photos of those real quick and then I'm gonna go back to the PD and start getting her booked. Look at her rims up here. >> I was gonna say, >> oh yeah, she did something. >> Yeah. I mean, you see the side of it. >> Yeah, she cut she look frontend. It's the length of the damn car. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Jesus. I bet I bet if you drive up and down 50, you'll find it. >> The curve of ram and a pole. Officers also noticed a long scrape down the side of her car, possibly from hitting a curb or pole, and several empty mini liquor bottles inside. At the station, her blood alcohol content was a staggering 0.321. She was charged with DUI and child endangerment. If convicted, she could face 1 to 5 years in prison, heavy fines, license suspension, temporary loss of custody. And given her profession as a nurse, someone sworn to protect lives. Those charges carry even more weight. On April 12th, 2024, it all started when police noticed a car suspiciously sitting still at a green light, then suddenly speeding off, blowing past traffic laws. That alone was enough to justify a stop. But when officers approached the driver, things took a turn for the bizaar. >> How you doing, sir? >> You mind turning your car off for me for a second? >> Turn off. You >> mind turning your car off? Yeah, turn your car off. You have a driver's license registration on you? Of >> course. >> There's a multiple reasons why I'm stopping you today. Can >> you please excite for me, officer? >> Yeah, cuz one, there was a green light back there and you sat there for almost 10 seconds or so and the lady had to beat the horn at you and you wouldn't move. I sat there, I watched you, you wouldn't move. And then you finally decided to go up. Then you started speeding. You started doing 60 and a almost. It's like >> to go up when the green light because >> Yeah, but then you sped up way past the speed limit. >> Officer, >> you have an ID on you? Driver's license? >> Yes, I do. So, I stopped at the green light. That's great. So, >> what's your first name? >> Yes. >> How much have you had a drink tonight? >> Nothing. You >> had no drinks? Nothing? >> No, absolutely. I drink water. I've been working. I I work for a lawyer. >> Oh, I didn't ask you who you worked for. I just asked if you had anything to drink tonight. >> I had water the whole evening. >> Okay. >> So, somebody's complaining to because I'm not going in the green light. That's a shame. >> They were behind you beeping at you. I was sitting right next to you wondering why you're not going in the green light. It's a brighter green light. >> Scary. >> No, you can't be stopped at a green light. Green light means go. >> Scare you. >> No, green light means go. Of course. But he told me go. But >> hey, you sat at the light for like 10 seconds when it's green. You didn't want to go anywhere. People were behind you. You're blocking traffic. You have your ID on you or no? You have your ID on you or no? >> Of course I do. >> That's what I asked you for. You're supposed to stop at the red light. >> I'm so sorry. >> And then on top of your speeding. Thank you for telling me that because when somebody's beeping at me from a green light. So >> yeah, cuz you're stopped there. You're blocking the intersection. >> I'm so sorry. >> You're blocking. You can't find your ID or no? >> Of course I have my ID. >> Well, I asked you three times now. You can't find it yet. >> I'm looking for it. >> Okay. So, >> well, you keep stopping though. >> If I'm looking for it, doesn't mean I cannot find it. I'm still looking. Officer, when is it a crime to to looking for your license? >> I didn't say it was a crime looking for your license. Right from the start, the woman behind the wheel began spinning a web of excuses, contradicting herself with every sentence. She denied drinking, claimed she only had water, and said she worked for a lawyer. But officers noted something off. She was oddly slow and hesitant when handing over her documents. >> Hey, boss man, can I talk to you for a second back here? >> Hey, Maria, if you don't mind your uh registration for me. What's your first name? >> Raymond. Raymond. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. Listen. I'm going to ask you a couple times. Be honest with me. All right. How much did she had to drink tonight? >> I have no idea. >> She drank a lot, though, right? >> I have no idea. >> Where' you guys coming from? >> I'm not sure. >> You guys have no idea where you're coming from? >> Well, >> you have no idea where you're coming from. >> I mean, that that's her. I'm not sure where she I'm not sure where he where she was coming from. >> So, how did you get in contact with her? >> At brass. >> Okay. >> Brass ring. >> So, you just now got a ride with her? >> Hm. >> How long have you known her? Uh, I've known for a while a little while. >> So, she wasn't drinking with you? >> No. >> All right, hang out right there for me. Maria, do you have a registration for this car? >> Uh, it's my son's car. It's a dealer's car. He's a dealer. >> Okay. Well, that's another problem. One is you have to make sure that anytime you drive a car, you have to be able to find a paperwork on it. >> Well, >> yeah, if you have a routine reference, possible second one. >> Here's the other problem is technically you can't drive a car for private for private use on a dealer car. >> It's not private use. >> It is private use. Are you selling the car? >> Well, my son is a test drive. >> You're selling the car? >> No, my son is >> Are you transporting this car for sale? >> Absolutely not. I'm >> You can't use it for private use and you're driving from the bar, right? >> No, absolutely not. I'm doing a test drive. >> You're doing a test drive? How you doing a test drive? >> My son is a dealership. >> Okay. >> Can you call my son Matt? >> No, you're driving the car. Are you driving it to a point of sale? >> No, because my son is a dealership. >> You can't drive it to and from on private use. Are you just now coming from brass ring bringing your friend home? Correct. >> I'm doing a test drive. I I had this car for like two days. >> You're not doing a test drive? >> Absolutely. I am. >> You're using it for private use to bring your friend home. You can only use a dealer tag to drive to and from a dealership to for sale. >> I know. I'm not >> You're not making a purchase right now. >> My son is a dealership. >> I understand that. So, he's doing illegally. >> No, he has. >> Yes, he is. I'm telling you what he's doing. You're not listening. What I'm saying telling you >> my son has a dealership license. >> I understand that. That's only to sell a car. You're not selling a car now. You're using it for private use. You're not the car. >> Maria, stop arguing with me. And listen what I'm telling you, sir. >> You are driving your friend home. You cannot do that on a private use. You can only do it from to and point from a sale. That's the only time you're allowed to use a dealer tag for it. >> Here's where things got sticky. Even though the car was from a dealership, she was using it for personal errands, dropping off a friend. That alone was enough to make it an illegal use. And as the debate dragged on, one undeniable fact hit the air. She rire of alcohol. The smell was getting stronger by the minute. >> The brass ring. I'm going to ask you one more time to see how good your credibility is. How much did you have to drink tonight? Cuz I can smell it all over you. >> What are you smiling all over? >> How much alcohol beverage have you drank tonight? >> Absolutely not. >> So, I'm going to go to brass ring and ask them how much did Maria drink? They're going to say a lot. Right. >> No, please do. >> All right. Go ahead and step out of the car for Maria. >> Absolutely not. I don't have to. It's my car. I >> It's not your car. It's your son's car. I'm going ask you to step out of the car before I take you to jail cuz you're going to get hurt if you don't step out of the car. Excuse me. >> I'm asking you to step out of the car and I really don't want to get you hurt. Please step out of the car. >> You are being recorded right now. Go ahead and step out of the car before I take you to jail. >> Call my son. >> Call my son, please. >> I don't need to call your son. Get out of the car before I get you hurt cuz I'm going to hurt you blowing you out of the car. If you don't get out of the car, >> you're going to hug me for what? >> I'm going to take you to jail if you don't get out of the car. That's why I ask you to get out of the car cuz I'm a law enforcement officer. Ask you to get out of the car. Please follow my order so you don't get hurt. >> Okay. So, >> come on. >> Can you please call my son? >> I don't need to call your son. You're a grown woman. I don't need to call your son. Take your seatelt off before I rip you out of the car and you're going to get hurt. You may want to follow my orders before you get hurt. >> What do you want from me, sir? >> I want you to undo your seatelt and step out of the car. >> Correct. >> Because I think you've been drinking tonight and also you're driving around with unregistered motor vehicle, which is a criminal offense. >> Okay. So, >> so unbutton your seat belt before I take you out of the car. Get out of the car because I want have to rip you out of the car cuz you're not exiting in the car. >> Can I please have my phone back? Absolutely not. You can get out of the car >> with me. I'm in my car. >> I'm about ready to. Yeah. If you don't start listening my directions >> for what? >> I'm asking you to simply just get out of the car so I can speak with you. >> Please give me a ticket for whatever I'm doing. >> No, I'm not giving you a ticket right now. You're being suspected of DUI. I'm doing my investigation. I have asked you to get out of the car three times now. I'm going to tell you right now again before I rip you out of this car and take that seat belt off you, you're going to get hurt. >> You rip me out of my car. To step out of the car for what? >> He's asking you to step out of the car. >> Your vehicle is unregistered. You're using a dealer tag illegally. And on top of that, you're suspecting you are. >> This is my son's car. >> Okay. Take off your seatelt and step out of the car. >> For what reason? >> He's already explained to you. >> No, he hasn't. >> He just told you three times in the 30 seconds I've been sitting here. Take off your seat belt and step out of the car. >> When she refused to get out of the car, officers reminded her force will be used if necessary. They gave her every chance to step out voluntarily. But with someone who came in ready to argue, warnings only went so far. >> You're going to get hurt. You're going to hurt me for what? >> Cuz you're not exiting in the car like we asked you to. >> No, that's just her friends. All different friends, right? She's using a dealer tag. Car is unregistered. >> No, it's not my It's not my son. It's a dealer. >> I've already explained to you five times now that you can't use a dealer. >> Your last chance to step out of the car on your own or you'll be taken out of the car? >> No, absolutely not. >> Okay, then you can get out of the car. We'll take you out by >> Last time. >> Okay, doesn't matter. >> Okay. Where's my car? >> Step up, please. Thank you very much. >> Don't fight. Don't >> I'm not fighting >> fight. You are fighting her. Stop fighting her. >> No, I'm not. >> Like, what is happening? >> Well, we were trying to do a basic DUI investigation cuz you've been drinking a lot. >> No, I have not. >> I can smell it all over you. >> I can >> stop fighting her. Stop fighting her. >> Seriously? >> Yeah. We asked you to get out of the car three times. You want to get out of the car? More than that, >> ma'am. I can smell the alcohol in you and I have severe allergies to the point when if I can smell it, you've been drinking. >> I've been drinking water all day. >> I don't think so, ma'am. >> You just hit my head on the freaking drunk. >> No, you didn't hit the car on camera. >> Come here. Get my phone. >> Sit down. >> We asked you to get out of the car numerous times. We're conducting investigation. You don't want to listen to us. It's called resisting arrest. >> Sir, get in the car. My phone and then put my >> Have a seat, please. She listen to what she has to tell you. >> Get in the car. >> So, what is this? I'm trained for what? >> You're being arrested. >> You're being arrested now. >> For what? >> Resisting arrest >> because I didn't stop at the red light. >> I didn't commit anything. >> Oh, we already going on over this. I'm not arguing with you. >> No, I just Please give me like a >> She was taken to a hospital for medical clearance where she continued the same pattern, refusing to take a breathalyzer, refusing a blood test, and even refusing to sign the paperwork. Why? Because she knew. Refusing the tests would suspend her license for at least a year. But to her, that was still better than letting them prove she was drunk. >> The rights? >> Yeah. You ready? >> No. Absolutely not. >> Why not? You're ready. >> I don't know. >> I'm going to read them to you. All right. >> You have the right to the presence of a lawyer of your choice before you make any statement and during any question. Do you understand? Yes or no? >> First of all, I have to know what the charges are. >> I already told you what the charges are five times. You're being arrested for resisting without and unregistered motor vehicle so far. Do you understand your rights? Yes or no? >> Yes and no. Both. >> Okay. Well, don't you understand? >> Resisting arrest for what I did wrong. >> It has nothing to do with understanding your rights, though. You can question your charge all day long. It has nothing to do with understanding your rights. >> I'm not quite certain about the situation. >> Maria, it's a yes or no answer. Do you understand what he read to you? >> You know, let me ask. >> I'm not requesting you submit a lawful test of your blood for the purpose of detecting detecting its alcohol content and the presence of chemical control substances. Do you want to give a blood test? Yes or no? No. >> No. Okay. If you refuse to take the test I request of you, your driving privilege will be suspended for a period of one year. You understand what I just read to you? Yes or no? >> Yes or no? >> I'm going to say no to that one. >> You're going to say no to the blood test? >> To both. All right. >> You're not going to get a breath test either. All that good stuff. >> Uh there's no reason for you to stop me for that. Okay. >> So, you're refusing to get a breath test, blood test, or any type of test? >> I I of course cuz I haven't been drinking. So, yes. Of course. >> All right. That's been documented at 1:41 a.m. on uh was it 4 >> 13? 413 2024. You're not going to sign anything. >> What would you like me to sign? >> The refusal. >> I didn't break any law. What? >> You're not going to sign for us either? >> What would you like me to sign? >> The paperwork that says that uh you agree to the understanding your constitutional warnings and agree to your refusing. >> What have you already agreed to, but what what law? >> I think I agree that you understand your rights. That's all I'm asking you to do. >> I know my rights. I already know my >> All right. Well, it's already caught on camera then. >> What? What? What rights? What are you trying to tell me? Convey. Please explain this to me. >> Well, your rights. >> I know my rights. Oh, you know your rights. Okay, that's good. >> So, what are you trying to convey to me? >> I'm just asking you if you want to get a blood test. Yes or no? >> Why? Why? Why would you ask me to do that? >> All right. >> What is happening? >> You're being arrested for DUI. >> Okay. >> Resisting and also unregistered motor vehicle. >> In the end, she was taken to jail and charged with DUI, resisting arrest, nonviolent, driving an unregistered vehicle, refusing to sign the citation. Her bail was set at $2,500. And her constant defiance, refusing cooperation, arguing non-stop, denying everything only made things worse. In cases like this, judges tend to come down harder when it's clear the suspect refused to take responsibility. On June 30th, 2023 in Florida, police start getting multiple 911 calls about a black Jeep driving all over the place. When officers finally track it down, they find a woman behind the wheel, completely passed out. her name, Erica. And trust me, this is just the beginning of a wild, shocking night. >> All right. Do Do you need an ambulance or anything? >> No. All right. Do you have your uh license with you by chance? >> Oh, put the Jeep in park. Put it in park. >> Hello. >> Hello. >> What is that? >> You got two of my Pikachu. >> What do I need to talk to? >> I don't need to talk to him. I'm talking to you. All right. So, uh, Erica, can you go ahead and step out the Jeep for me for a minute, please? >> Hey, where are you? >> Where you at? >> Hey, go ahead and step out. >> Come on. Go ahead and get out of the car. >> Come on, step back for me, please. >> Step out for me, please. >> No. Are you telling me no? I'm going to ask you. Get out. Okay. Come on. Get out. >> I haven't done anything wrong. >> Go ahead and get out. Step out of the car. >> Okay. >> Step. >> Seriously? >> Yes. be willing to complete a series of field sobriety exercises to determine your ability to operate a vehicle. >> I haven't done anything. I don't feel like I've done anything wrong. >> Okay. >> I really don't. >> So, based on >> I really don't. >> Based on my observations, I believe you might be impaired. So, I'm requesting you to complete a series of field sobriety exercises to determine if I believe that you're safe to operate a motor vehicle. >> Yeah, but I I was just laying here like I wouldn't do that. >> You wouldn't do what? >> I wouldn't drive anything. Like I I really wouldn't. >> Okay. But at the same time, you were here. >> No, but I wouldn't drive. >> Your Jeep was in drive when I made contact with you. >> Yeah. You took your foot out the brake and started rolling forward when I woke you up. >> Bull crap. I didn't. >> Okay. So, would you be willing to complete a series of field sobriety exercises? >> Yeah. >> Yes. >> As the officers approach, they see Erica slumped over in the driver's seat. Car still in drive. When they manage to wake her up, her foot slips off the brake and the Jeep starts rolling forward. That moment right there tell you everything. She's clearly so drunk she doesn't even realize what's going on. But credit to the officers, they follow protocol by asking her to perform a standard field sobriety test, even though it's obvious she's in no shape for it. >> I don't feel like I've done anything wrong. >> Okay. Well, we can discuss that after the fact. All right. Like I said, right now, I'm just >> You don't want to do this? >> Listen, if you don't do this, I'll have to base my investigation on my observations. >> Seriously? >> Yes. again. I need to complete these series of exercises to determine whether I believe you're safe to operate a motor vehicle or not. >> I haven't done anything. >> Are you willing to complete these exercises or no? >> My husband died from CO. Like, what the are y'all doing to me? >> I'm sorry to hear that. >> No, you don't care. >> I do care. That's unfair. It's very unfortunate. I would be very upset if my spouse died. >> I'm just trying to be okay. I understand that. >> I'm sorry. >> It's It's all right. >> I haven't done anything wrong. Like, I don't feel like I have. >> I really don't. >> Okay. Well, like I said, based on my observations, >> what have I done wrong? >> Well, based on my observations. Okay. As you're speaking, I'm smelling an odor of an alcohol. I'm Let me Let me finish. So, are are you going to do the test or No. >> No. >> Yeah. if you want me to. >> I do want you to, but there's only so much that I can do, but you need to keep >> I haven't done anything wrong. >> So, we need to go ahead and start these tasks then. I understand you're upset. >> I haven't done anything wrong. Like, I was sitting here. >> Okay. So, if you don't think you've done anything wrong, then why don't we do these tasks and if and if I believe you're fine to drive, you'll be on your way. >> Okay. >> All right. So, what I need you to do is stand with your feet together and your hands down at your sides. I want you to look at tip my pen. I want you to follow it with your eyes and your eyes only. Keeping your head still, right? Do you understand the instructions? >> Yeah. >> Remember to keep your head still. >> Follow tip. Remember, follow tip. Okay. >> Okay. >> This part's critical. The field sobriety test is a key piece in determining DUI, and Erica fails it hard. She can't walk straight, can't balance, and there's no sign of any medical condition getting in the way. Still, she insists she did nothing wrong, even as the evidence piles up against her. >> Are you experiencing any of those problems right now? >> No. >> Okay. So, next task I would like you to do is the one leg stand. Okay. When I tell you to, I want you to lift one foot up. can be either foot approximately six inches keeping it parallel with the ground sequence. >> It's all right. Ma'am, I want you to keep your feet together and your hands at your sides until I finish the instructions. Well, go back. Go back to the with your feet together. Go ahead and put put your feet back together. All right. So, I just completed the instructions. Do you have any questions? Do you understand the instructions? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You may begin. Remember to count out loud. >> See, like I'm super clumsy. >> 1500 questions. >> Yeah, I have a lot of questions. >> Okay. >> Like I haven't done anything wrong. >> Okay. >> Do you have any questions about this task here? Yeah, I was just sitting there like, why are you all doing this to me? >> Okay, >> seriously. >> Again, if you don't think you've done anything wrong, >> I haven't. >> Then >> I haven't done anything wrong. I will sit in my car. >> I'm asking you to do this task. >> Okay, I will. >> I haven't done anything wrong. >> Do you need me to repeat the instructions for you? >> No. Do you want me to? >> Why are you doing this to me? Okay. Place your hands behind your back. >> No, >> I am placing you under arrest. >> Why? >> Because I believe you're intoxicated beyond your normal faculties. Do not pull away. Do not pull away. >> You have I'm just going to pat you down. Okay. >> So, I treat it. >> All right. Erica, I ask everybody before I take him to jail, do you have anything illegal on you? >> No. >> Any any illegal narcotics? >> Call my boyfriend, please. >> Hold on. Let me finish. Any illegal narcotics or weapons get that gets brought into the jail is a felony. Do you understand that? No. >> I'm giving you the opport Okay. All right. >> Then comes the breaking point. Once officers tell her she's under arrest, her emotional walls come crashing down. She panics, spiraling into a full-blown meltdown. At this stage, there's no talking her way out of it. She's taken to the station for a breathalyzer test. >> Want to see this chair? Have a seat. Sit down. Lean back against it. It would be great. You'll see me in a little bit. >> All right. You're You're going to have to hold it. Hold it until you're done. All right. >> You don't You don't have much more longer. >> You have not not much longer. Okay. >> I'm not normally this person. >> That's That's okay. We all make mistakes. Things things happen. >> You have to lean forward. Don't blow. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. You got to take a deep breath. And then just so you blow a balloon. There you go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. So you got to take a deep breath. >> Yeah. >> Yep. You got to do it again. Take a deep breath and blow like you blow a balloon. So you at this point >> Yeah. I have really bad asthma. really bad. I can't breathe in. It hurts. So, are you need [Music] [Music] Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Good. Good. Good. Keep going. Keep doing good. Keep going. Keep going. Uh, the first sample came back to 241. The second sample came back to 262. And the third sample came back to 2.25. So that means that you are overal. >> Yeah. >> The test confirms it. Her blood alcohol level is over three times the legal limit. Erica just bows her head. No more arguments, no more excuses, just silence. In Florida, blowing over 0.15 comes with serious consequences. Even if it's your first offense. We're talking up to 9 months in jail. fines up to $2,000 and a license suspension. On July 2nd, 2024 in Ohio, police were dispatched on an urgent court order from Marian County transfer full custody of a young girl to her father, Blake. Her mother, Alexa, who also goes by Lexi, had been dodging law enforcement for months, bouncing between St. Louis and Colombia in an effort to stay off the radar. But when officers finally tracked her down, things didn't go anything like the court paperwork might have suggested. >> Are you Alexa? >> Are you Alexa? >> Yes. >> You cooking chili or something? >> No. Uh, best chicken and onions. >> Okay. >> She in there. Okay. >> She perfectly fine. She's safe. >> Well, you know about her? >> Yes. We've been trying to get away from her daddy for almost 2 years now. Keep finding us everywhere just in St. was in Colia. This is an ongoing thing. Use a court case to find where we was at the first time in Colia. I told them that they everything is court documented, but they not trying to help trying to make me give him give her to him, which I just not going to do that. So, I really don't know how he got this address. >> I don't know either. >> All right. Bad news. This order right here, >> signed by a judge, issued by the Marian County Circuit Courty, >> says that it is ordered that law enforcement immediately assist Blake in obtaining the physical custody. So, she has to go with him today. That's the end of the story. You could listen. >> I got to go get my at. >> Listen, you could be charged. >> She can't. No, I could charge her. I want to get arrested. She's not going with him. >> She's going with him. >> She's not going with him. She not going with him. Y'all can arrest me right now. She not going with him. She not going with him. They already know this. No, she not going with him. >> She's going with him or she's going with him and you're getting arrested. Which one? >> Y'all can arrest me. She not going with him. Y'all can arrest me. >> When officers did this, it's going to look really bad. >> Are you hearing me? Are you hearing me? >> So, I got kids and I know if I if I did something I get arrested, it's going to look really bad on me. And I don't want that to happen to you. Okay? Do you get what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> Cuz if we ar it's going to look real bad and the odds of you getting your kids back right away is going to be slim to none with the way if we end up having to rush you and we don't want to do that. >> Can I go get my >> I'm I I have to come in there with you since the kids and look listen. Please listen to me. I'm a I'm a parent too. We don't want to arrest you cuz it's going to make you look bad, dear. Please understand that. Please. I don't want to arrest people. You understand? If we end up happening, >> you're not getting her. I'm getting her. We going to fight y'all. >> Alexa fought back hard. She flat out refused to hand over her daughter and said she'd rather be arrested than let her child go. She accused Blake of having a criminal past, even alleging he had once been abusive and had served time. Then she asked a chilling question. If a judge thinks a man like that deserves visitation, what does that say about how bad they think I am? >> This is how she is. >> I understand. >> She got a warrant right now. >> I'm going in my car. >> You said she got a warrant. She had two ones in other she has a one through the family court and she has a one um um >> she confirmed her name and birthday with me but my dispatch couldn't find her but I'll try again. >> Yeah. I don't know if it's cuz it's a misdemeanor and it's a Illinois or >> she still show up. phone. DCFS called my phone on two months ago and said 2019 they found my daughter in the room with a loaded guns and bag of dope or whenever my daughter was one years old. You know, I was in prison. I'll be honest with you. I did I did five five years in prison. I was on 2006 and I came on 2000 on 2000 on 21. But since all type of DCFS cases, all type of ones since I was in prison and everything, >> we might have to handcuff her and put her in a car. >> Yeah. I'm Yeah. And like like I said, you can come get her. >> Please do not let her go back in. >> We're not going to. That's not going to happen. >> No, you're not getting her. You're not getting her. You're not getting her. >> Don't Don't >> It's going to make you look real bad. It's going to make you look real bad. I don't want you in trouble. Please, let's go in here. You can make phone calls all you want. Let's go in here. Come on. >> It's not over at this. >> It is not. >> That's why you got to take a tour. >> Come on. Let's go inside. >> They've been trying to take her for years. Please. >> So, why do you get attorney? Because So, listen to me. On a money standpoint, usually they don't want their money until after the court's over with. And a lot of a lot of a lot of attorneys will do a payment plan. Dear, >> can you help me calm her down? He told me I got to get her. >> He He helped calm me down for me. >> What you saying? What happened? >> So we have a court order signed by the judge that the child goes with him. It's signed by the judge. >> Marian County one. >> So So here's the deal. She's talking about if we take her, she's going to go to jail. I We don't want to arrest her cuz it's going to do nothing but make her look bad. We don't want her in trouble. We don't. >> So cuz then if she get tries to go to get the kid back and it looks like she got arrested why we did this. Come here. >> By order of the judge. >> I didn't. >> The officers did everything in their power to avoid putting her in handcuffs. It was clear both parents had troubling past and neither home was picture perfect, but Blake had shown some signs of turning his life around. And after much back and forth, the court had made its choice. Custody would go to him. Our hands are tied when it's signed by a judge here. Okay. And she's talking about we're going to have to arrest her if we take her. I don't want that cuz it's going to look bad on her if she tries to get her kid back. So like without saying nothing to you, somebody can take your kid like that. >> That's way above our pay grade. A judge signed that order. It's not police. >> It's not like we just randomly wanted to show up and take a kid. I'm a parent. I I don't like doing this. >> It's just by a judge. >> But what do she get a copy of the paper or no? >> What's that? >> Does she get like a copy? >> Is that her copy or this? I mean she, as far as I know, she can have this copy. I have an email copy too. So if you guys want to hold on to this that goes into a lot more detail. One of those details. >> Look, listen. >> Let me find. >> So for the time being, this order >> grants is Alexa. >> Mhm. >> Alternating weekends on Saturday and Sunday 10 to 4. >> Lexi. Lexi. [Music] No, she just hit him. [Applause] >> Stop. Stop. Stop. >> No. No. He can't take her off. He's like, "I'm not going to get her back. Why you listen? >> Hey, listen. Listen. You want to wind up here, too? No. >> Get him out. Get him out of Get him out of her. >> Head back. >> Get him out. He already got >> You're under arrest. You're under arrest. Get him out of her. >> Turn Turn around. Put your hand. >> Get him out. >> Turn your Turn around. >> Get him out. >> Turn around and put your hand. >> Why is he still here? If he has the back, >> you're going to get sprayed. >> Why is he still here? >> Turn around and put your hand behind your back. Turn around. Why is he still here? >> Turn around and put your hands behind your back. >> Why is he still here >> right now? >> Why? >> Listen. Turn around. >> Why is he still here? You He agitated her. >> Turn around. >> Why? >> You are under arrest. >> Okay. >> You're under. >> Just as the child was being prepared for transfer, chaos erupted. Alexa lunged at Blake, punching him in the face, kicking him repeatedly, and even trying to rip apart the vehicle. She was immediately restrained and arrested on the spot. while her sister tried to explain away the meltdown amidst the screaming. >> We have another unit available. Start this >> I'm asking you please just don't resist. Just comply. That's all I'm asking. Please. >> Why she didn't just say go get the kid out the house so he can go? She already told y'all what she on. >> She got the hair caught up in there. >> We're We're trying to fix your hair, dear. >> Please. >> We got >> After we get this all figured out, I'll give you a summon and you'll be released back to your household. Okay. >> So, which one is her? Which one's the last? None of those kids is at the door or her. >> So, how old's your kid? >> She's only seven. >> Okay. Seven. Okay. All right. Well, let's walk this way. I got one of mine. If you want to I'll walk through your >> That's fine. All right. Let's walk down here to this right here. I was trying to do something else. >> No, I'm saying when we were at the door. Why y'all didn't just say the kid is still in the house? >> What are you talking about? >> He said she don't He don't have her. That's why he's still here. Yeah, he's supposed to be getting the kid. >> So that's what I'm saying. That why y'all didn't say that. And she already told y'all what she on and he come here trying to act like he's dead of roses. He tried to kill my niece. >> Will you hang out with her? Why? >> How am I supposed >> She's under arrest for resisting arrest. >> She is. >> Yes. >> What happened? >> We were over there talking. I was going through the court order and she decided she was going to run and beat his ass. >> Right in front of you. >> Right in front of us. >> Oh my god. So she goes over there, slaps him across the face, and he just bear hugs her till we get there. >> Is he okay? Does he need a medic? >> No, he's fine. I mean, look at him. But uh >> is he the one from Chicago? >> Who is she to him? >> That's baby mama. That >> Back at the scene, officers began the paperwork, checking IDs, running names, and calling in extra units. Alexa, meanwhile, was sobbing, still pleading her case, claiming she was the real victim. In her words, she was a mother betrayed by a justice system that refused to protect her from a dangerous man. She >> tried to um she tried to pause my car, then I grabbed her and she hit me in my face. >> Okay. Uh you got your ID on your boat? >> I know you deal with my other officer, but uh she's being arrested today for domestic violence. >> Okay. >> Okay. I know you said you wanted charges, too. So, >> what's your phone number, Blake? >> Okay. What's your actual address? Is it this? No, no, it's 15. >> Where did she strike you in the face? Right here. >> I know. We saw it. >> You can't really see. She's >> Yeah, I got >> So, just the hit in the face and then trying to come at your car. >> Okay. >> All right. Make sure you uh you keep contact with your attorney. Let them know what happened. >> I will um let them know the sequence of events that took place and all that. I mean, that's just that. >> So, obviously I didn't get a bag packed or anything. I was just trying to hurry. >> Right. Yes. I was going to ask if she want to grab anything, but she says she doesn't want to grab anything. She has everything at the house. >> So, your daughter's going to need some help through this. >> Yeah, I know. >> Still mommy. >> But listen, cross your eyes and dot your tees. >> Well, we gave her a copy of what the paperwork said, okay? So, we're not trying to pull a fast one nobody. >> I know y'all just doing y job, but I'm telling y'all, do it to the tea. They got that court in Centro, Illinois, sold up, >> okay? >> That's how he's able to do all of this. beat my knees to drag her through the streets. It's all documented. He keep finding her everywhere she goes. >> So, right So, right now, your kids are kind of really upset. Some of them were crying. I think that needs to be your main concern before I'm >> That's my concern. But I want y'all to know just >> okay, >> put my cons. >> We're going to fix it. >> Please cooperate. >> We're going to fix it. >> I know, baby. Please don't make it worse. >> Okay. >> I can't breathe. >> You need to go to the hospital. >> I need my baby. >> Lex, please do not make it worse. >> I cannot help you if it gets worse than this. >> Okay, >> I don't know. I already put my job on the line, everything. So, just calm down, >> okay? >> And cooperate. We're going to fix it. I promise. >> Stay down over there for me. >> All right, face face my car. All right, go ahead. Step on in here. See the black knob on the floor? You're going to stop there and then face that concrete wall. All right, go ahead. Step on in here. You're going to immediately hook a left and have a seat. Eventually, Alexa was booked into jail and charged with domestic violence. The court later found her guilty. Her sentence, 6 months behind bars, 150 days suspended, 2 years probation, 30 days credited for time served, $1,750 in fines and fees with $600 waved, and she was ordered to complete an anger management course. But if you think this was the peak of reckless motherhood, just wait. On October 14th, 2023 in De Moine, Iowa, police are called to a local hospital after a nurse reports being punched in the face by a patient over cold food. But the assault didn't stop there. The woman allegedly mocked the nurse's sexual orientation, turning a violent moment into something even more disturbing. And when officers show up, the situation only gets more tense. So um come down lunch time I guess. She wanted mad about that. She had those things. Tried to leave the room. Tried to you know I didn't touch her but tried to you know tell her we need to get her back into the room. There was another nurse that helped and she wound up her fist that she was going to hit me in the face and then hit me in the face. >> Okay. So somebody witnessed that. >> Is there any footage of it? I don't think there's much you can see. >> How many as well? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. I'll just grab your ID on you. >> What was she admitted for? >> Um >> she's episode. >> Okay. I definitely like. >> Do you have injuries at all? >> Not that I can tell you. It's like right square in the face. >> Right square in the nose swollen or anything like that or just >> I don't think so. >> So, she was mad about food. >> Mhm. >> And then she tried to leave her room, but she can't leave her room. She tried to just keep her in that room and she just thought she acted like she was going to punch you and then she just like a closed fist right in the face. >> She said, "I'm going to hit you in the face." >> The nurse not only reports the attack but also agrees to press charges. Something that gives officers a solid legal foundation to request an arrest warrant later. Police begin gathering more witness statements and conduct a deeper investigation into what exactly went down. So patient >> tried to come up like came out of the room. Patient had a dinner tray. She was upset that there wasn't enough food. She ate it in like 2 seconds. I ordered her another dinner tray. She wanted a burger with fries, a side salad, and ranch dressing. She wanted pickles, onions, and tomatoes. heavy. >> Um, so I called to order it and she said, "When is it going to be here?" And she's like, "I don't like it can take 45 minutes to an hour." The food shows up. They did say at the time, "We don't have fries. We only have tater tots." So I said, "If Danielle, it's going to have to be tater tots." And so, and I'm like, "There's my fries. Can't fix it." So, she had eaten an entire meal tray. We got her I got her another meal tray and um she apparently were not to her liking. So she came busting out of the room yelling pushing him down the hall like not but like you know >> in his face kind of >> basically like she he avoided her hands during that whole time. So I heard her. I came around the corner. I'm like, "We need, you know, you have to go back to your room." They were, the officers were just here. You have to go back to your room. >> The officers were up there. >> Public Sty have been there 30 minutes before. >> Oh, other issues. >> This the same patient every single day. This is the third night in a row. 5:00. She She is having an acute mental health crisis, but that she knows she can't really >> This is the third day in a row. I told her um so room we can talk about the room. So she gets to the edge of the door and she's trying to say that poison the the terrapots are poisoning her too cold and she's going to get salmonella or ecoli or something and then she like swings and connects with his face. Actually she was one of her left arm and hit him on the right side of his face. Um he had his N95 on it started. So at that time once she got back in I'm like you need to go back to your bed lay down right the second then it it started hate speech slurs like one after another. >> Um you should be dead. you're going to get your boyfriend's probably going to commit. You don't deserve to live. Um, >> even though the patient Danielle appears to be in a mentally unstable state, her actions show signs of clear intent. She gave verbal warnings before striking out, which tells officers this wasn't a random outburst. It was calculated. The officers choose to step back and leave the hospital to start the legal paperwork, aiming to file assault charges under the special protection law for healthcare workers. Meanwhile, Danielle remains in the hospital until doctors decide she's fit for discharge. >> I am really sick. >> Yeah, that's the that's the worst part. >> 71. Where do you This stairway goes to yoner 7 and pal. This the stairs or The most violence she got was she assaulted one of our staff. She hit him in the face. >> Is that why she has a warrant? >> I'm assuming. I don't know for sure, but that's probably why. >> Okay. >> Can I go now? >> Can you go now? >> Yeah. >> Not yet. >> What are you guys here for? >> For you. >> Why? >> Cuz you're going to be coming with us. >> For where? >> You have a warrant? >> No, I don't. >> You do. >> For what? >> You do. For assault. >> For what? >> For assault. I just told you. Okay. So, you'll see on the other she >> Yeah, we we don't >> we just got the warrant. We don't really get any details. >> Sorry. Off today. If you're going to be cool with us, >> we won't handcuff you until we get squad car. All right. >> That way you don't >> like what? >> Does she have more property? >> She does have some stuff. Yeah. I got a little box. Okay. >> I have to give her her uh just her discharge. >> Cool. >> I don't remember who I hit. >> We don't know anything about that. >> No idea. I'll grab I'll grab your stuff. All right. >> Okay. Thanks. >> Y >> we just got sent here cuz you had the warrant. That's all we know is that you have a warrant. Why in here? Who got hit? >> I don't know. We don't know. We don't know anything about it. Okay. >> And the the crappy thing is dispatch ran you already. So, we know you have a warrant, so we can't >> officers return later, but don't immediately slap on the cuffs. Instead, they use a softer, more cooperative approach. Something that's proven effective in medical environments where tension is already high. >> They'll give you a court date. >> Oh, jeez. That's a lot of stuff. >> Have they had court yet today? >> I can put it all in a bag. >> That'd be awesome. Is that Have they got court yet today? >> What's today? >> They have court in the morning. >> It's in the morning. Yeah. >> So, I already missed it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> You got You got shoes. >> Yeah, I got shoes. They should be in there. I don't know what to do about myself. Yeah, I got shoes. >> You want to put your shoes on? >> Yeah. >> Can I have a secret, please? >> You just ask him, didn't you? And he What did he tell you? >> They know what my six-year-old does.
