Stupid ass. Yeah. Don't look like a mother. I had a mother for my mother. >> Freedom's supposed to be a gift, but when it ends up in the hands of selfish, irresponsible people, it turns into a disaster. >> Don't call. >> Yep. We'll find you. Get down. >> I'm not doing. They fight the cops, challenge the law, live in some fantasy where they think they're untouchable, [music] and then break down crying the moment the cuffs go on. >> How about this? Your cars. >> That's why I'm pissed. [screaming] >> But when the law steps in, tears aren't enough to fix the damage. [music] >> You beat my mom. You liar. >> Stop. On August 23rd, 2022, police were dispatched to an apartment after a report of an assault and an unconscious woman. It all started when an 18-year-old girl came home drunk and things went downhill fast. >> You tested for a DUI. >> Okay, why don't you just put that down for a second? >> This is not mine. >> That's fine. Can you just put them both? >> There's a third one in her bank. >> I see the law. The law officer is here. He's trying >> 4205. Can you be 51 over? Just put that in your pocket. Just hang up with them. The law officer is trying to say that just wait right there for a second. >> Put it in my pocket and hang out. >> I'm on the phone with 911. >> You can hang up. >> Do you need medical attention at all? >> No. >> Do you have any cuts or anything on you? >> No. >> He's abusive. >> Okay. Well, I'm going to wait. >> And he's trying to sit there and claim those are mine so he can get away with abusing me. But my face hurts from him punching me in it. >> I haven't touched it. >> Listen, we aren't going to argue right now. Just >> just wait right there for a second. >> Threw her down to get her off. He threw me down and and got thrown down back this before. >> I had not. >> Yeah, he asked. >> YOU BEAT MY MOM. YOU LIAR. >> Stop yelling. >> Sit down. >> Hello. My name's Ael Paramedic with the fire department. What's your name? >> I guess she's not injured at all. He has >> custom. He's beating my mom and he beat my mom. >> Just wait for a second. Just wait. >> All right. I just got to figure out who's injured and help you guys out. Okay. >> Kennedy Korea Police Department. Can you just go there for a minute? >> I honestly think they might just be unconscious cuz they're not answering me or anything. >> Oh, who was in the car that left? >> Kennedy. >> Who's Kennedy? She's providing him with the alcohol. >> No. No. She dropped me off and left. >> Okay. Cool. Please Kennedy. >> Hello. >> How you doing? >> Good. How are you? >> I'm okay. >> Been better. Yeah. Do you need medics? >> No. No, they talk to me. >> What's her name? >> Katrina. >> She gets women. >> Hey, Katrina. Who's Kennedy? Is that your other roommate? >> Yeah. >> Is she inside the apartment? >> I don't know. >> You said You said that's You said that's the person that left in the vehicle, right? >> Yeah. White Lexus. >> Fire. White Lexus. >> White Lexus. More over the black. >> Tensions flared as both sides kept pointing fingers. No major injuries were reported, but what unfolded was a snapshot of a broken family where words cut like knives, trust had dried up, and fear hung heavy in every corner of the house. >> Happened was >> I'm going to stand under here. >> We came She came back from the beach. She went to the beach today with a friend. >> All right. >> She got on the couch. >> I You know, she was I thought intoxicated. >> Do you guys live in 1033? >> No. >> Who lives over there? >> His friend. >> So, you all live there? No, I don't even know who lives there because he doesn't tell me >> exactly. He just runs away. I >> I'm so confused. >> I think it's her friend. >> It's her friend. >> Okay. So, we're just, you know, How old is she? >> She's 18. >> Okay. >> She's kind of out of it. >> So, it's a little tense, but nothing bad. And then she we got a little puppy and she grabs the puppy by one leg and just grabs it into her room. I just don't want you to grab the puppy like that. And then she just explodes. >> We just noticed her car is here and there's a giant dent in it. >> Oh man. All right. >> So she is there. >> But she's not answering you guys. >> I know you're >> said she heard something and then she stopped hearing something. So I'm a little worried now. >> She's not in trouble. I just want to make sure she's alive. >> Figure it out. >> Does she have any actual injuries? >> She >> Yeah. >> She said her head hurts. But when I asked her if she had injuries, she said no. And then medics got over. >> Okay. >> All right. Well, >> I haven't gotten a story from her. She's been out. >> Perfect. So, he's covered in injuries. So, I need to talk to her. I need them to clear. >> And it's been up and down for a long time. Her mother who had of her kicked her out. >> I've had her for the last year. >> We've we've always had these problems. Mom, I need to talk to you. >> I'm on the phone with my mom. >> You can't leave. You need to hang up. >> Please, >> please call me. I'm I'm at the apartment. Please, Mom. >> I need to talk to you. >> Tell her you need her to come. Please. >> The fight allegedly broke out when Katrina's dad called her out for mistreating the dog, and she snapped, lashing out physically. Meanwhile, someone noticed her car was badly dented. Katrina spiraled, locked herself in a room, and kept screaming for her mom. Classic signs of emotional trauma. >> Right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. >> And you know this this has happened with us. >> So who was the original caller of this? >> I think it was Katrina. I went over to Kennedy. >> We haven't spoke to her yet. Just >> Hey, man. >> When's the last time you seen Kennedy? Like physically? >> Physically. Three or four days ago. >> Okay. What made you think she was uh in danger when I first got here? >> Uh there was a guy walking up covered in blood and cuts the scratches and there's blood going up the hallway. >> Okay. And then you seen him leave? >> Yeah. >> But you didn't actually ever see him with uh Kennedy at all? >> No, he was walking up from there. >> Do you understand each of these rights I've explained to you? >> Verbal. Okay. With these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to me now? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, first of all, I went to come here and come friend from my dad um apartment and he followed me downstairs talking about how he's going to hit me and all this stuff. Like, obviously I can't because I can't like remember everything because I've been so stressed out and there's all these [ __ ] and I'm super nervous. that I was just on the phone with my mom and I want her to come here and I want her to come talk to you because she will tell you because I'm super understand and I've watched my dad beat my >> Did anything physical happen between you and your dad? What happened? >> He dragged me outside and he he dragged me. Do we get >> I need I need to take pictures. So hold your arms out like that. >> So the girl >> and then flip your arms over like this. >> He dragged you. And I just need to take a picture of your >> kids, right? >> How did we get over the radio or how do we get to a point where we have somebody who said that we have someone I'm responsible? >> Someone I was over here with her and him. >> Okay. >> Yeah. He dragged me. He dragged me when I came over here and I don't even like remember that good because I'm so traumatized and I want to cl >> Okay, so you got home. You were with your friend and you got home. >> Yeah. And I just remember being >> Why does he have bite marks and scratches over him? How did that happen? >> Because we argued and because I brought him to the ground after we argued. But that was because after he hit me. >> So he hit you first. >> Where? >> On your eye. >> You mind if I feel it? >> Yeah. Feel it cuz it hurts. It's right up here. All right. >> Both had injuries, but Katrina's story was all over the place. While her dad gave a clear, detailed account based on the bigger picture and physical evidence, cops had to make a tough call, not just on what was said, but what couldn't be denied. >> Started running down the apartments and started telling them about how he hit my mom and how he's abused him, how he will actually hit them. And he's not scared to people hit people because because he hit my mom, hit my sister. >> Okay. >> Okay. Hold on a second here. So, we got both parties involved in the original disturbance over there. >> Yeah. So, apparently, >> and then that girl over there was drinking supposedly with this girl at the beach today. >> Yes. >> What I need to know is how do we know that she's not responsive? Which the where do we get this information from? >> So, they assume that because he came down the stairs bloody. They thought, "Oh, he did something to her." >> Oh. >> And then he came down asked like, "Do you know her?" And I like basically she wasn't there with him not. >> Yes. He said he came here to tell her to stop getting her alcohol. >> Yeah. So, they assumed that he might have done something to her, correct? Am I wrong assuming that >> that Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. So, >> okay. >> He'll hit me at any second whenever I raise my voice or anything. >> Going on. You don't see any marks on her? >> She does have a mark by her eye. I'm not >> Well, you know what? She was biting me so hard that I tried to get her off me. Like you ever see somebody like stuck on you and I'm trying to get her down and I think I fell on them. >> So I might have conked her, you know. I didn't conch her with my this. >> I was just trying to get her off and then when I got her off I got out of there. >> Where are you injured at? >> My face. My my right here. It all hurts. It feels like he >> How did How did you get injured there? >> He punched me in the face. >> Okay. How did like open hand? Closed fist. >> Closed fist. Okay. Which hand did he use? >> Um, he used the left hand. He is a liar. >> Okay. Well, we're figuring out what happened. Okay. >> Okay. But no, last time this happened, no one believed me. And it was actually on him punching me in the face. He punched me in the face multiple times and he did the same stuff he did now. And in reality, everyone believed him when in reality he punched me in the face and he li >> The officers came to an early conclusion. Dad had visible injuries and a solid story. Katrina, on the other hand, didn't show any obvious wounds. Combined with the animal abuse allegation, the evidence leaned in his favor, making him the likely victim here. >> My question is, is this nor is this normal for her? >> No. Every time I come over, she answers me. And especially because she knew I was on my way here. >> Um, she never just doesn't answer. >> Okay. >> Like normally she would be like, "Oh, actually my neighbor. Why was he mad? >> Because he wanted me to be home with the puppy. Instead of being home having fun, he wanted me to immediately take home the dog, open it, do all this stuff for it when he's >> So he was upset that you went out with Kennedy. >> Yeah. Instead of taking the dog home. >> Okay. So you guys started arguing? >> Yeah. So I started arguing. He punched me in the face. It hurt super bad. >> So he randomly just punched you in the face. >> Yeah. He punched me in the face. >> Okay. And then how did he get all those scratches and everything? I started scratching him back. I started telling him to stop scratching me. >> He was scratching you? >> Yeah, he was. >> Okay. >> I saw him actually beat my mom and I saw my mom screaming, "Call the cops. Call the cops." So, is it not fair when I actually [laughter] take her aside against the dog that >> So, did this all happen in the living room? The bedroom? >> The living room. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, you left the apartment and started screaming for help? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And where was he during that time? >> I think he was still in the apartment. >> Okay, >> go ahead and try. We're not doing any damage. I don't care trying. >> Yeah, it's already damaged cuz like a long time ago, some dude came and banged on her window. >> Yeah, we're ready for something. >> I don't see a lot. Oh, yeah. >> I'm going to put you under arrest for battery. What I need you to do is turn around and put your hand behind your back and stay like that for me. Okay. I'll be able to explain anything that you need explaining. >> You haven't even really actually talked to him. >> We did talk to him. >> He's a liar. >> It's based on the totality of circumstances, based on the injuries that he has and the stories that he's saying, the the events. His story is okay. That's what you think. >> Take him to court. >> Okay. That's your right. >> And he's a liar. [laughter] right here. >> He's a liar. >> He's a liar. >> What's your name? >> He lied and he beats women and I watch him beat my mom with plant. >> Understand everything I'm going to put in the >> beat my mom. >> All right. Give me one minute. Give me one minute. to your traffic. Nobody >> get call police department. Can't call police department. Can't call police. >> Kennedy, you okay? >> Drink a little too much today. >> Okay. In the end, Katrina was arrested and charged with assault after police determined she injured her father during the altercation. If convicted, she could face probation, community service, or even jail time. When a drunk teenager accuses her dad of abuse, but he's the one covered in bruises, who's really telling the truth? Who's twisting the story? And does the past justify what's happening now? Drop your thoughts in the comments. Sometimes one perspective changes everything. On March 16th, 2024 in Florida, while patrolling by boat near a sandbar, officers spotted a woman pouring what appeared to be alcohol for someone who looked underage. What started [music] as a simple suspicion about underage drinking quickly spiraled out of control. >> Why would you pour them a cocktail? >> You actually did. You poured it into the green solo cup and then No, you poured it into the green solo cup and then you handed it to the girl in the black bikini. I watched the entire time. Why would you do that? >> I did not do that. >> Why would you do that? >> I only poured. >> No, you didn't. No, you didn't. >> Why would you do that? >> Yes, I did. >> Why would you do that? >> I didn't. >> You did. So, go grab your ID and you're under arrest for possession of alcohol and provide Yes. for providing a minor alcohol. >> You did. I I'm not blind. I watched you do. >> You have it on videotape. >> Go get your license before I put you on. Go get your license for the last week. I don't need your help. Go get your ID. >> Excuse me. That's my daughter. >> I don't care who she is. She's over the age of 18. She can talk to you after I'm done. >> Well, so we'll get a lawyer and I want >> You're more than welcome to get yourself a lawyer. Go get one. >> What happened? >> None of your business. >> She gave honor. >> Who? >> I don't know. Something I just overheard. >> I'm not here to argue with you and I'm not here to fight with you. >> I just want to know what's happened. you. She provided alcohol to three minors. >> I have every intention of it, but I'm not going to argue with everybody here on this sandbar. >> That's your job. >> If she doesn't come over here within the next 30 seconds, I'm putting her in jail. >> I'll go. >> Hurry up. ID. >> When confronted, the young woman instantly denied everything and tried to deflect. Typical of someone trying to dodge legal heat. Then another woman stepped in, claiming to be Maggie's mom, only for that lie to fall apart just minutes later. >> ID. >> Sure, I can. Come on. Let's go. Come on. Come on. >> Come on. Come on. >> Come on. >> Are you serious? >> Come on. >> Can I just get my >> ID? Excuse me. >> Don't resist. >> Don't resist. >> For real. For real. For real. >> Can I just give it? >> You can't give the girl a few minutes to give her ID. Dude, >> I have Don't grab the purse. >> Yeah, I'm grabbing the purse because it was in her possession at the time that I if it was then why she get then why won't she let you get the purse? You have >> step off. >> Nothing better than this. >> Nope. >> Why? >> Step off. >> Wait. Where's the >> Come on. Let's go. >> Come on. >> Excuse me. >> You're under arrest now, too. Come on. >> YES, I AM. NO, you're done, too. >> What the What are you doing right now, sir? Please stop. Please stop. Can you let me show you my ID? >> I am telling you right now YOU ARE UNDER ARREST ALSO. >> STOP. >> Please stop. I swear to God. >> Stop. >> I promise you I'm not doing anything wrong. >> I don't care. >> Climb up. >> I'm right here, girls. I'm right here with you. >> I promise you I'm not doing anything. >> Why you got to BE LIKE THIS? >> DO not stop fighting him. Stop fighting. My dog is here. >> I don't care. Go up. Go up. Go up. Go up. >> Officer right now. Female officer right now. >> Okay. >> Right now. Right now. >> All the way over. >> Doing too much, dude. Dude, what is wrong? Step. Step up. >> I'm with you, ladies. I stand with you. >> Maggie was arrested and pulled off the boat. Jessica kept interfering and was cuffed immediately for obstruction. Both women ignored lawful commands, talked over officers, stalled, and resisted, turning what could have been a minor warning into a full-on confrontation. >> Stay out there. Stay up there. Just stay, baby girl. Just stay up. >> Female officer, right now. Right now. Don't touch all the way over. All the way over. All the way over. CALL YOUR CAPTAIN, BRO. >> All the way back to the all the way to the back of the boat. >> Sit here. >> Call now. >> Get off. >> I'm going call 911 right now. >> Go ahead. >> I am. CALL YOUR CAPTAIN RIGHT NOW. >> I DON'T HAVE A CAPTAIN. >> YEAH, YOU DO. >> NO, I DON'T. >> YEAH, you do. >> Come on, bro. >> Officer, bro. You're under arrest for for interference. Okay. You're under arrest for providing alcohol to a minor and resisting arrest. >> And you're also under arrest for resisting arrest. >> I'm sorry. >> And escape cuz when I put you on the boat, you jumped off and tried to hide. >> I just have a question for you though. >> Sure. >> What did she do in the first place? >> She provided alcohol to a minor. >> But I didn't. >> You did. I'm not going to This isn't an argument for you. This >> has that on camera. Because this night I'm I How are you going to prove that? >> What do you mean? I watched you do it. >> I did not even >> You're adopting a kid. You were not sure that you were doing the deal. >> You saw Listen. >> Yes, I saw you. >> Can I speak? I was going to get my ID. >> No, you were procrastinating and I actually sent somebody over to get there. He told you to come in and get your boat. Come bring your ID. You continue. You continue to the point where I was able to get my ladder, get off my boat, walk to your boat. You still weren't in your bag. >> Did you not hear me asking her where she put my purse? I don't know where I put my >> I had the purse. >> She put her purse. >> I had her purse in my bag. >> I don't know where she put my purse. >> So, all it took me was if you could not bear 5 minutes. >> No, it was my fault. >> Okay, it doesn't matter. >> At this point, the suspects began dropping personal details, maybe hoping to earn sympathy. But officers don't make arrest decisions based on your job title or backstory. They go by behavior and compliance right there in the moment. >> So I don't know. >> Well, what do you think would happen when handcuffs are put on you? >> Does that mean does that mean that I get to go play and run around? >> Talk one second. >> No. >> You asked me to get my ID. >> Yes. I was getting you my ID and then you came over to the boat. You >> didn't let me provide you my ID. >> You were given ample opportunity to get it. You decided that you were going to argue with everyone there and try to plead your case. So here's the deal. So, you're under arrest >> here. This is the end of the problem. All right. As soon as my partner gets over here, I'm going to get life jackets on you and we're going to the gym. >> Okay. >> Okay. Everybody understands that? >> Not for you. >> Do you have proof of that, though? >> Of what? >> Of her. I I don't know. Asking a question. I watched. >> I didn't do anything. >> You did? >> No, I did not. >> But you did. >> Okay. >> Stand up for me. Yes, sir. >> Turn your hand. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. Actually, let's put your vest on first. I'm literally a trauma as you nurse. Like really? >> Then you know better, don't you? >> You know better than to come snatching stuff from a cop and then try to pull away from him and then jump off a boat after he put you in custody and tells you to sit down, don't you? >> Yes. >> Yeah, that's what I thought. >> Can I ask you one question? >> Sure. >> You have cameras on this, right? >> No, >> I have cameras on me. >> So, >> turn around. Turn around. See, this is again this is again we don't listen. We don't listen to instructions. We don't do what we're supposed to do. And lo and behold, here we are arrested again. >> I understand what you're saying, >> but the videos >> I never said anybody under the age of 21 years old a drink. >> Actually, you did. >> Okay, I'm going to take this off your head back for you. >> Oh, yeah. Thank you. >> Well, it's the only way it's going to make it back with you. >> Hold it. Thank you. Start over. Start out. It's fine. It doesn't matter. >> Is it going to stay in my head? No. >> Okay. >> All the way down, please. >> That's not my mom. >> As they were being transported, both women acted stunned, denied wrongdoing, and showed zero remorse. But body cam footage told a very different story. This wasn't some harmless misunderstanding. It was willful disregard for the law. >> I just wanted to know what happened. >> You need help or can you do it on your own? >> Yeah, just a little. >> You got it. >> Okay. All right, I'm going to take the cuffs off you so I can take this off of you and then I'm going to put them right back on. >> Ladies, these two gentlemen are here to transport you only. They have no vested interest in this case and Jason does. All right, >> don't give them a hard time. Ready? >> [music] >> adopting a child. >> I have no idea. I'm going to [ __ ] traumaize you, man. I have no idea. He's so mean. Like, what is he doing right now? Help him. Help him. I'll >> turn the AC up for you guys. He So I I really have no clue what happened. Nothing like that. Um once you get there once I tell you honestly he didn't give us any insight on why he gave us all and then he came and >> I I I don't know his reasoning. I don't know what's happening and I know what I did. What's um he should be able to >> get my ID for him and how that happened was that he came over and he was under arrest. >> Yeah. Um >> that was pretty much it. So I have no idea. >> He should be He'll explain it when he gets there cuz he's the one that's going to do everything. >> In the end, both were booked. Maggie was charged with providing alcohol to a person under 21 and resisting a law enforcement officer without violence. Jessica was charged with resisting without violence. If convicted, they could be looking at fines, probation, or even short jail time. Do you think the officers were too strict in this case, or were these women just asking for it? Drop your thoughts below. And on February 5th, 2022 at Dallas airport, a drunk woman caused a full-blown scene, yelling, acting out, and even plopping herself down in a stranger's lap. When the cops showed up, they had [music] no idea this was about to turn into way more than just a public disturbance. >> Dallas airport. >> You're at Dallas airport. Okay, why don't you get up and come over here with me? Get away from this person that you don't know. Okay, >> we're ready. >> All right. Excuse us. >> Excuse us. [ __ ] >> What's going on, >> mama? >> What? >> Literally. >> Come on. Right over here. >> What? What's going on? Tell me. Tell me what's going on. Keep coming. Right over here. >> I'm going to a funeral in San Diego. just going to go and have a sip. >> I was delayed and I am very sorry. And >> she hasn't been really causing anything. >> Only I can tell y'all both have been drinking the water. >> Of course we have. We've been I've been here for 2 days. >> Okay. That doesn't give you the right to like I've been told that she was cussing people out. That doesn't give her the right to do that. >> That did not happen. >> Well, I mean I have to go off and put a bartender% I told her I love you. It's like I'm a bartender in DIA. >> How many How much have you had to drink today? >> Of course. Are active military personnel always welcome. >> Four since 7 a.m. >> For what? >> Wine. I wine. >> Mama, listen to me. >> I'm listening. My friend died. I'm very sorry. And we're okay. And my flight got delayed and I am okay. And >> why did I find you basically sitting in some random person's lap that you don't know? >> She was waiting for me to come down. >> Are you kidding me? No, I was not in someone's room. >> I I walked up on that. I saw that. Yes, >> I was not in >> Okay. Okay. Where are you flying to today? San Diego. >> San Diego. Do you have your ID with you? >> Yeah. >> Are you flying by yourself? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> She admitted to drinking but denied ever sitting in someone's lap, even though everyone around saw it plain as day. At that point, it was crystal clear to officers. She was drunk in public and no longer in control of herself. >> I don't know Texas. I've never been in this city. >> My [ __ ] best friend just [ __ ] died. Ann, >> you're calling me out. [ __ ] you. >> Okay, let me see. Ready. >> Best friend just died. >> I'm very sorry. I've had that happen. >> You're sorry. >> International flight. >> No, actually, >> keep going. >> Thank you. >> Hey, >> are you flying with him? >> No. Okay. >> Like literally like I'm not trying to say you but like you don't need to know anything. >> Please. >> When did you come? When did you get to Dallas? >> I'm just I'm just asking you questions. >> Um today I came from Denver. What day is today? What day is today? Just go ahead and put your stuff down. Put it down, please. My friend died. Okay, let me go. >> Let me go. Put your stuff down, please. >> Her attitude slowly shifted. Less cooperative, more combative. She had no clue she was digging herself into a deeper hole. And the moment they told her to put her stuff down, followed by those two words, "You're under arrest," the booze took over completely. >> You're under arrest for public. >> Stay right there. Stay right there for me, sir. >> Put your hands. I got her. >> Y I have to do my job. And you can do your job and you go ahead. Yeah, you're free to go, sir. >> Be right here till they get here. >> Hey, hey, >> hey, stop. >> Stop it. >> Do you want a resisting arrest charge added? Right now, it's a simple ticket. You continue that and we're gonna add charges to it. Hope you understand me. >> Stand up. >> She wouldn't listen to me if I tried to her. She wouldn't listen to me. She wanted to be aggressive. She wanted to have a fight. She wanted to >> just lay down. Relax for a minute. >> Tried to talk to her. She was so very aggressive. >> And do you think kicking her was the ideal thing to do? >> No. She put me in handcuffs. She >> Well, because you were under arrest. >> You were under arrest, ma'am. And >> you were going to go to the jail sober up until you assaulted me. >> Put charges on me. >> You're the one that kicked me. >> You No, >> I didn't. >> Mama, you put me in. >> It was for your protection. You were just going to sober up. It's just a ticket until you kicked me. >> Okay. >> Okay. Do you understand that now? >> Stop. No. >> You don't understand what you did. >> You turned it into something that it's not. It is something that it's not. >> Are you serious? Ow. Stop. >> As they tried to walk her out, she suddenly kicked an officer. Not just resisting, but flatout assault. And here's the kicker. This wasn't her first time. Once someone's crossed that line, doing it again doesn't seem to phase them. >> OW. OW. You made this up. I did not hurt you. Look at me. LOOK AT ME. >> OW. I DID NOT HURT YOU. Look at me. Are you [ __ ] serious? >> I did not hurt you. Okay, >> I'll get it. Yeah, get it. Good job. Good job. Good job. Good job. Good job, dude. Literally, I did nothing wrong. >> Put it back in the vehicle. I was in a city where I don't know anyone >> and you [ __ ] >> I don't have a problem. >> Here's the looks like she >> serious. Why? It's not a power trip. Justing let me go. Let me go. Are you serious? Hey, I know you're looking through that. Can I at least have like one toe, one cigarette, something, please? something. On March 7th, 2025 in Florida, police were dispatched after receiving reports of a woman, later identified as Ariel, walking directly into traffic. Her behavior wasn't just dangerous for herself. It posed a real threat to everyone around her, but what followed that took things to a whole other level. >> They're coming. Can we go over there? >> Sure. When I see them. >> Okay. >> I'll wait right here. >> Where's your ID at? >> Um, it's going to be located at Barnes & Noble. That's all I'm saying. Without any other deputies present. >> Okay. Do you want to search it? >> I just want to see if you have your ID. >> No, I don't. I need to go charge my iPhone now and send an email. >> Okay. Well, you're not going to do that cuz you're stepping in traffic. >> Ariel appeared completely disconnected from reality. Her speech was disjointed, her thoughts all over the place. Officers immediately suspected she might be experiencing a schizophrenic episode or a manic phase of bipolar disorder. >> Okay. So, you understand that way, >> not step in traffic. I could tell you that. >> Okay. I hear what you're saying. I'm saying I'm audio recording now for my safety. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Um, where would you like me to go >> to not stop in traffic? I say >> now I am. >> At one point she looked like she was about to lunge into traffic, escalating the risk not [music] just to herself but to unsuspecting drivers. Police acted fast, established control, and issued firm warnings for her safety and everyone else's. >> I need to go there. >> You are not going there. You're not free to leave. >> I don't care what you say. I have a reporter. 33:15. That's 2500 federal um crime scene by what are you talking about? And I'm like, "Everything's loud, but you played football." >> What followed was an emotional spiral, likely a mix of [music] psychosis and acute mental health crisis. She may have genuinely believed her own delusions. At this stage, she had lost the ability to regulate her actions, becoming a danger to herself and a serious disruption for officers trying to contain the scene. >> Just everybody's going to figure it out. >> I don't see anything. All right. So, what you're going to do is you're going to sit on your butt and then we're going to have no chance of being football. Pull up my >> Excuse me. >> I asked him to pull something unless you caning. >> He did. >> All right. All right. >> That's fair. >> Help. >> We got We got >> They're like, "That's fine." If convicted, she could face up to one year in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both. The original charge of [music] disorderly conduct was dropped, showing prosecutors chose to focus on her refusal to comply with [music] lawful police orders. From intoxication to domestic violence, when emotions take over, it's no longer a matter of if, but when. On September 24th, 2024, Fort Dodge police responded to an emergency call. A drunk neighbor had reversed her car and slammed into another vehicle while a child sat in the back seat. But when officers arrived, they quickly realized this was far more than a fender bender. >> There we go. >> Okay, stay back. >> Sean, that's what the problem is. >> So, what what are we fighting about? And what are we yelling about? >> Apparently, I hit their car without knowing it. I have no idea. But they are refusing to give me my son. I'm They never came to me. >> They never came to the house. >> Okay. >> Which is right here. >> Okay. >> They live right here. >> We have cameras. >> Mhm. >> Which will prove that they never came over. So why why is >> But then they turn around. But then they turn turn around and do show up at the front of the house talking to her which is my mother which tends to be the only NO. GET IN THE HOUSE. >> NO. [screaming] >> She's not drunk. I think she's just she's you can smell. Can you? Yes. I'm not picking up anything. >> I am so sorry. The woman kept trying to deflect the incident, turning the conversation from the crash to accusing her neighbors. Her frantic behavior and overwhelming concern for herself and her child revealed someone spiraling, ruled by panic and fear, not reason. >> Did you witness what happened? >> I heard it. I >> What happened is I came home. I came forward. >> Yeah, I heard that too. into that >> came backwards. Apparently hit their truck which has no damage. >> Oh, yes it does. >> And came I came and all the all the cars. >> I can't see. Okay. >> Then why the is it okay for them to talk? >> Stop. Everybody stop arguing. Yes, we'll deal with that. Okay. >> But it's not going to help to have people yelling at each other. Go stand by your car. >> You live here? >> Yes. My parents. Um, >> how old are you? I'm 27. >> Okay, >> that's my son. And in the >> Was he in the car? >> Just taking a deep breath. I could see the stagnance in the one eye that was moving. >> She couldn't produce her vehicle paperwork, which was already a problem. The strong smell of mint and her excuse that it was just mouthwash only raised more suspicion. Though the initial PBT test didn't give a clear reading, her erratic eye movements convinced officers to keep digging. >> I'm going to detain you. Okay. >> Why? >> Because you do appear to be under the influence of something. So, we're going to go do some more testing and if everything's good, you'll be released. Okay. >> What the did I do? >> You hit a car. >> I know that. >> And you appear to be and you're acting as though you're under the influence of something. So, I don't know if it's that or what. >> You haven't had anything to drink. >> I swear to >> What's that? I'm sorry. >> I feel like I'm going back to the psychward. >> No, this isn't the psycho board. [laughter] >> This isn't the psychward. Okay. >> Here's your pants. Did you want to slip them on? So, the question is, do you want to perform these tests for me? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, the first one's going to involve your eyes. Other than glasses, do you have any other problems with your eyes? Is that >> I guess that's what my my buddy works like he was on your mom and dad and they responded to this. He said it was my mom and dad. >> Yes. So and they're they're in pretty bad shape. >> Neighbors filled in critical gaps. David, the son with a drug problem and Christina who lived in a back unit and had just left in a silver SUV. With that tip, officers quickly tracked her down at an intersection nearby as she and her wife were returning from Publix. At the moment of arrest, Christina still didn't know her father had been the one to call 911. Investigators then turned their focus [music] to David, unsure of his role in the morning's events. There was an incident at their house and they're at the hospital. Okay. >> What? So, we're still trying to work on it. We're trying to figure out what's going on. Um, but for some reason, somebody said that you drive a white Ford Ranger. Do you have one? Do you know who drives a white Ford Ranger? No. >> Okay. I know. How many brothers do you have? >> I have five brothers. >> Five brothers. >> Okay. But it's an active investigation and both your parents are at the hospital. >> What's uh Christina's relationship like with your parents? >> As far as I know, it was good. >> Okay. >> It is good. >> Christina ever been in trouble with the law before? >> I mean, I think so. Other than like anything other than like a traffic ticket or anything like that? Like, do they help her out? And >> I'm sure yes. >> Yeah. And you when you say yes, you mean they >> help all of us out? >> They help all of you. So, if Christine asks mom or dad for money, they'll give her give it to her. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. >> Um, well, as far as I know, your mom and dad are in the hospital. They're they're okay, but they did they did get some some serious injuries. >> What? >> Yeah. Who would want to injure your mom and dad? Do you? >> I have no idea. >> Mhm. And you said you weren't there this morning? >> No. >> When was the last time you were at the house? >> Yesterday. >> Yesterday. Within a week ago, Christina was planning on moving out. planning on moving. >> Was there any animosity about that between her and mom and dad? >> I didn't. >> Christina had plans to move out, hinting at long-standing tension in the household. Her father didn't survive the attack. Her mother, though seriously injured, pulled through, but during questioning, Christina played dumb, acting clueless about the violence that unfolded in her own home just hours earlier. I mean, we were supposed to >> been a few days. >> It's been a few days. So, I might have miss misheard when he asked you about specifically where the how the washer and dryer setup was. Is it actually in the main house or is it a >> It's in the main house. >> Okay. So, you'd have to go to the main house where your parents live. You didn't see them then or anything. No. >> You went in the kitchen to get uh some food you said to eat in the morning, right? >> No, no, no. That's my kitchen, not their kitchen. >> Okay, got it. Cuz about what time was that you called her, you think? >> I have no idea. >> But would it be on your cell phone? >> Yeah. >> And then you said you talked to your mom this morning at one time to tell her to open up that door. Did they have to like unlock it so you can go in to do the wash? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And about what time was that? >> I really don't know. So, I went over there and put my laundry in and I heard gun smoke on the TV. That's what she usually watches. And um and that was it. >> When she's watching Gunm Smoke on TV, which is normal, what brings that that she's in? >> Um a uh living >> Christina >> so many days together. What? >> I I I don't want you to dig yourself into a deeper hole. When I came in here and asked you to get your side of the story, it's because I think there's more to this story than what I have so far. But I'll be honest with you. I've talked to your parents, okay? I've talked to other people. We're in the process of getting a search warrant for the house, for your vehicle, for phones, and there's things that we're going to find that are going to contradict what you're telling me because I I don't believe what you're telling me. Okay? And I want you to to give yourself the opportunity to be honest because there has to be more side of the story. And what I want you to do is to give me, you know, some understanding that you're not this cold-blooded person that would that would do things to their parents without a a good reason. There has to be more to it. Now, you told me you you've been in a depression. I've talked to your wife. She said you've been going through some things as well. Frustrated with school and with work, you know, and the way things are are you want to be independent, but unfortunately sometimes we have to rely on our parents and that can cause stress between, you know, kids and their parents and for them as well. >> So, something happened this morning which you have been not even interested in knowing about. You haven't asked me why. >> It was a classic interrogation strategy. pressed the idea that the evidence is already there and any lie will only dig the hole deeper. Mentioning the search warrant turned up the heat fast, a warning that the truth was closing in. Only when police brought up Brenda and the child did Christina begin to crack, opening up about her painful childhood and the deeper reasons behind what happened. >> Sure. >> What happened to my parents? >> Your parents are at the hospital right now. They're being treated um for some injuries. very severe injuries. Um, and and we're we're trying to sort through that. >> And I'm concerned about your wife over there who has a 5-year-old and what her involvement is in this. >> Can we drop some [ __ ] What is going to happen? Like path A or path B. Right. Bill, >> I need to know your side of the story. I can't answer that without knowing if there's more to it than what I've been told so far. Right. >> Exactly. I've had a very, very rough life. and they don't see that. I was young, like we we lived in Dallas, Texas until I was 10 years old. I had friends. I was popular. I was active. I wasn't fat. And then because of a job, he decides, we're all moving to Florida. and John, however, would stay in their room, play video games, and just stay stay in the room in the dark and stuff. And then, um, I I believe John is a psychopath because of the things that he did to me and James helped. There would be times, it would be various times of the day [snorts] that [clears throat] um whenever my parents weren't watching that they, you know, tie me down, hold me down and burn me with either cigarettes or little metal rods or pins that they would heat up in different ways and put them out on my skin. I had all this pain on the inside and there's no there was no way to let let it go because they neither of my parents would listen to me about my brothers. My horse was the only thing that saved me from, you know, throwing myself into into traffic or cutting my wrists. >> Okay. So, how do we how do we get from there to where where we are this morning? >> I don't know. I just I just can't imagine, you know, for that long you go you got to go through that cuz I can't imagine the tension and the friction. And >> her confession of childhood abuse added a heartbreaking layer. Years of silence of parents turning a blind eye had left wounds that never healed. And when there's no outlet, pain like that doesn't just disappear, it simmers until one day it explodes. since I was like seven, eight years old. >> I would never hurt my nephews. I loved them. I was so happy when I learned that I was going to be an aunt for the first time. Ever since those accusations, the family's been divided. At one point in time, anybody who said that I was a child was out of the will. How much healing would have there been if people just owned their and said they're sorry for their part? I've tried to escape to my dad. You know, I take responsibility for the mistakes that I've made and you know the criminal and whatever and you know he wanted me to move so that another one of my brothers who has a job who has income can stay there and I'm just kick the [ __ ] out. >> So they didn't even care where you went at this point. They just wanted you gone. I just want to be gone. >> Did you tell him you'd be homeless? >> Yeah. I told him I have no money. I have no way to get a job to support myself. >> You remember? >> You're going to be out tomorrow, right? >> Okay. And then what happened after you put on those clothes? >> I went over my dad was on the computer like in the computer. over this computer chair. >> Mhm. >> And I I just came up behind them. >> I heard him. >> Describe this how you heard him. >> I stabbed you. >> Okay. >> Tell us what you stabbed him with. >> A knife. >> A knife. >> Where did you get the knife from? I had one for self-defense. >> And when you hurt him and you stabbed him, where do you think the first place it was that he got hurt and stabbed at? >> Left arm. >> His left arm. I know it's hard. Tell us what happened after that. >> I I think I like shocked him with my >> It's another self to your dad and then you said one to your mom. >> Yeah. Describe to us the transition from your dad to your mom. You you were your dad was over by the computer. You we already talked about that. How did you get over to your mom? >> She was she heard the commotion. She came over and she's like, "What are you doing?" I just I don't know. >> What part of her body did you stab? You're pointing at the middle of the chel. Okay. >> Did you use the taser at all? No. >> Okay. something that you planned in just 15 minutes or that's been planned over 15 days. Were you thinking about what you do >> just like today? >> Just today? Yeah. >> How many minutes do you think you put together this plan? >> It just irked me that he just didn't care. He didn't he just wanted me gone. It's like why did you even have me if you don't want me? And that I think just overwhelmed me. >> Yeah. You both your parents you knew both of your parents were in the house correct when you went back. Yes. >> Okay. So, was it your intention to only kill your father and not your mother? Or was your intention that even though she didn't necessarily put everything on you like your father was, she didn't stand up for you enough. So, you were just going to have to to kill both. >> In the end, it wasn't just violence. It was years of feeling ignored, dismissed, and unloved that pushed Christina to the edge. Police later found a 9-in knife in her car and bloodstained clothes hidden in her dryer. She was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon. Christina made devastating choices, but her family failed her, too. That doesn't excuse her actions, but it helps explain how it all unraveled. On November 11th, 2024, at Mike's Pizza, a man called 911 after his car was hit and the other driver sped off without a word. Her fury and denial were a mix of panic and desperation. A lastditch attempt to flip the script instead of facing the truth head on. >> What are you talking about? >> If you stop screaming, I will explain it. >> There's nothing that happened. >> No. If you will stop screaming, I will explain it. >> Stop screaming. We can't find you until we had a customer come in and say that. >> Officers remained calm, walking her through the arrest process and pointing out the video footage showing her daughter fleeing the scene. Those recordings left no room for denial. Yet, the suspect still clung to her story, refusing to accept any responsibility. >> So, I hit the vehicle. >> Correct. On multiple cameras. I have it on video surveillance from the store. I have it on the Tesla's two of the Tesla's cameras and I see video from the store. The video surveillance shows that you are getting into the vehicle. Cowardice wears many faces. For one, it was running away. For the other, it was violence, even while holding an innocent child in her arms. On October 6th, 2024, police received an urgent report. A woman appeared intoxicated, sitting inside a car, acting strangely with a newborn baby right beside her. But when officers arrived, what they witnessed inside that vehicle left everyone in stunned silence. >> What's going on? Um, I dropped my baby off and she's sitting here. She's sitting here talking to me out the window the whole night and then she just called her to come pull up here. >> I never did though. I said, "You got 5 minutes. I'm leaving." And I got here like this. He's crying. So I went like this to push him out the way and I missed. >> You literally reached for him. You slung on him. >> I have him in my hand. It's not your business. So can you watch your mouth, [ __ ] Shut up. All you are is we're not going to yell. >> That's all it is is his girlfriend. Officers had to step in [music] fast, separate everyone, and draw a hard line just to regain control. But the shouting didn't stop. Accusations flew. One woman even claimed the suspect had assaulted her own father multiple times. >> This and then that I let him watch and I told her like the only person that watches my son is my little sister's grandparents and them and they live out of town. I don't I don't really let people watch my son in this town. So I know what this like I know I know these people in these town. I'm not dumb. I'm not slow. Um, and it sounds like there's possibility that she was um trying to kick in a door, too. So, if there's damage to that, then I mean, there could be. >> Even after being cuffed, the suspect loudly defended her actions, denying any harm to the child. Trying to talk her mother into her version of events, right in the middle of an arrest, made one thing clear. She was still clinging to control, unwilling to accept the legal authority closing in on her. >> Hang up the phone with you real quick. Uh, we'll be here for a little bit longer. Okay. >> All right. >> All right. >> Is there a reason you just slipped your cuffs? >> I didn't even get to give my baby a hug or a kiss. >> Is there a reason why you just slipped your cuffs in front? >> Because these [ __ ] are tight. So, and then I'll bring him back over to me. >> That's fine. >> Hello, buddy. >> The officers showed restraint and compassion, especially during the emotional moment of separating mother and child. They kept it short, kept it calm, and once the baby was safe, they returned to the task at hand, including questioning the father about the rest of the night's events. Uh, Gage. So, uh, DHS is going to be contacted for this incident. Okay. >> All right. >> Um, >> as of right now, she's going to be charged with child endangerment and domestic. I hope she grabbed that part where he grabbed my son's arm and my son almost fell out my arm. I picked my son back up cuz he's halfway. He's halfway on the floor. He almost fell on the floor. I picked my son back up from falling face first and I pushed him away from me. And then I'm trying to get in the car. Hayden parked behind my car telling me we're not leaving till the police get here and Gage is telling her to move so we can >> Good ma'am. >> Okay, I'm going to get her out of here. So, I'm just letting you know that just in case you want to if you did and you want to let me know. >> Yep. Right in front of the elevator. I'm going to do a quick pat down on the wall and I'm going to start up top and work my way down. Okay. Okay. Full full. Full. Lift this foot for me. Go ahead and get you changed out quick. >> In the end, she was arrested and charged with domestic battery resulting in bodily injury and child endangerment. However, the child endangerment charge was later dropped in court that left her facing only the domestic violence count with sentencing still pending. We were eating dinner inside back here. >> It's in the outside. >> The establishment called us. >> Totally calm. >> You were so >> Well, dude, I just got attacked in that bar. >> I just got to attacked in the bar. >> Hit him. >> Somebody hit my husband. >> I am relaxed. >> And when he asked for his identification, >> I am listening. >> He wasn't giving it to him. My name is Officer Andrade. This is Officer H. >> Andrade. Okay. We were called here, okay? Because there was a disturbance by customers, >> which I'm guessing is now you two. >> Okay. They said that you were refusing to pay and that you started to get physical. >> I'd be more than happy to pay our bills. We were we were happy to pay. >> Okay. And I'm so I don't know where this whole like I'm not willing to pay for the bill. I'm more than willing to pay for any bill. I >> Okay, you lost me at some point. Okay, so you guys are having dinner. It's fine. They're bringing the bill and what it sounds like is you put down a card and they're saying that you gave them a card that's not a credit card. Is that what happened? >> That is not at all. It's an American Airlines credit card that is a credit card that is completely valid. But when they >> I went to the restroom >> when they said, "Here's your American Airlines card." What were they meaning by that? Like >> no. What? What? No. understand >> what occurred was I put down my credit card. >> I put it in the envelope and then I went to the restaurant. >> Okay. >> So, >> and and everything's fine up to this point. >> I come back and then somebody jumps on my head. >> Who? >> I don't know who because >> an employee. >> No, not probably not an employee. some other people in the restaurant and they start hitting on me and I'm like >> like striking you? >> Yeah. And so I get this gentleman >> and and I I'm not hitting him, but I put my arm around his neck >> and I start cinching down >> to choke him out because I don't want him to hit me and I don't want to hurt him. >> Once the dust settled momentarily, the husband claimed he was attacked by a stranger and was merely defending himself. But eyewitness video painted a very different picture. He was the aggressor instigating conflict with other diners. >> I need to enter your guys's information and I'm trying to provide that to my dispatcher right now. So, I need you to stay quiet while I do that. Okay? And then we're going to get to the bottom of whatever is going on here as soon as I finish up with that. I need you to stay quiet for me for 20 seconds and then I will talk to you regarding what happened inside there. Do you understand? >> Sure. Mal, >> I'm going to go inside and find out cuz when I got in >> stay there, >> I just brought them out. >> So, let me go inside and see. [laughter] Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. I I live here first. This is where I work. >> Further footage confirmed what the restaurant staff had been saying all along. The husband had assaulted an employee first and the men around him were simply trying to subdue him. The evidence was undeniable. >> I'm good with it. >> Yeah, I probably got punched some. >> Yeah. douchebag jumped out of nowhere giving [ __ ] to the employees and I just said, "Hey, right here." >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, were you the first one to go ahead and grab them to try? >> No. So, my I was probably the first guy these guys [ __ ] with the waitresses. Dude, what are you doing? The guy [ __ ] punched me. Either stop or I'm going to beat the living [ __ ] out of you." Okay. >> So, I said, "That's how it's going to go." And he said, "I don't want a problem with you." I said, "You you you want nothing to do with what I'm going to bring to you." >> Okay. >> So, I choked him out and just let him hang there. He was the main guy. I said, "You going to throw? It's going to get bad." >> So, you were on the ground with him holding on to him? >> Yep. I held on to him and said, "Until, were you being hit by anybody else or my buddy and his wife hit his wife hit me a couple times in the face and I said, "You're you're not this is not going to go well for you." >> Okay. So, regarding you being hit in the face by him, you don't want to press any charges. Is that what you're saying? >> It's a stupid [ __ ] >> Yeah. Officer, I still really don't understand why you had to put me in handcuffs to ask me to stand by the car. >> I'd be more willing I'd be more than happy to stand by the car without the cuffs. But >> obviously, you have a perceived >> Why are they laughing? >> I don't know why they're laughing. >> There's a lot of people in there. Okay. just my granddad would be very very >> officer if there's >> no >> no officer If there's any opportunity, my glasses when that man attacked me are on the ground floor of that restaurant. >> What color are they? >> They're black. You attack me and I almost >> Well, you need your glasses. Can you ask somebody to go in and get my husband? >> Not at this time. No. >> Are you kidding me? >> No, I'm not kidding you. >> Staff members [music] explained that the couple had been drinking heavily and turned hostile after being refused additional alcohol. Witnesses even reported that the wife threw objects at employees before her husband lunged at other patrons. I know. >> President Biden. >> Ma'am. Ma'am, stay right there. Do not pull away from me. Do not pull away from me. >> Don't touch me. >> Do not pull away from me. Don't touch me. >> Stay right there and don't move. Do you understand? >> Don't touch me. Do you understand? >> Walking towards me. >> And I'm telling her not to. Do you understand? >> Don't touch me. >> Do you understand? >> You are hurting me. >> Stop pulling away from me. Okay, just stay right there. >> You are hurting me. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> OH MY GOD. WHAT? NO. >> HAND BEHIND your back. >> Stop. Stop. They tackled me to the ground. >> I just saw you holded the way she did. >> Oh my god. What is going on with you guys? >> I don't know what's going on with you guys right now, but that's what we're getting to the bottom of. >> Oh my god, Ruby. >> You have no sense of >> They're hurting me. We're just trying to adult male and adult female cuss. >> What are you going to >> Seriously, what is wrong with you guys? >> She did nothing. She was walking over to talk to me. That was >> so it's it's very it's very simple, sir. When we're conducting an investigation and we tell you to do something, we mean exactly what we say. And when you don't do it, >> it was ft away. >> It doesn't matter. She obviously needed some consolation from her husband because she's freaking the [ __ ] out. >> Well, it's because she's drunk. That's why. And she's not in her and she's not in her right mind. Okay. She doesn't have all her faculties. >> That doesn't mean that like it's a crazy thing to like come and talk to her husband. >> When we tell her to stay where she's at, that's where she stays. The night ended with both husband and wife being escorted to jail charged with disorderly conduct. A plea deal could see them out on bail, but their antics won't be forgotten anytime soon.
