She appeared to believe that financial status somehow granted a certain immunity from scrutiny. But real life doesn't run on donations or social standing. The law doesn't check your bank balance before it applies. >> What development do you live in? >> I don't know. >> I live on the beach. We're on the beach. >> We have a condo on the beach >> because Palm Beach Gardens doesn't have beach. >> So you don't live on the beach. Okay. WHAT ABOUT ALL THE BAD YOU'RE PICKING on a little housewife. >> Are you going to let me send it to the city? GO GET THE BAD GUYS. GO GET THE BAD GUYS OR WHY ARE YOU PICKING ON ME? WHY? WHY? Look at me. I drive a Look at my car. >> I don't care what you drive. You could drive A A $2 CAR. >> WHY ARE YOU PICKING ON ME? WHY? WHY? I have five grandchildren. Okay. >> I got 10. You're making me miserable. >> I'm trying to find your husband's phone number. You're diabetic. >> Find my husband. Call my husband. >> I was trying to until you started yelling. >> Call my husband. I was trying to until you started yelling at my partner. And I'm just not going to sit in my car while you do that. >> So, I'm going to need you to calm down. >> Dear God, what do you want me to do? What do you want me to do? >> I have for you. >> I want you to calm down. >> That's it. >> Calm down when you're trying to arrest me. You know how I am? >> Did I tell you that I was going to arrest you? >> She kept repeating references to influence and money as if they were a VIP pass. When that didn't work, frustration started to show. Retreating into her luxury vehicle may have felt like regaining control, but the legal system doesn't operate on market value or property tax brackets. >> Can you sit back in your car for me, please? >> I will. Why would we do that? >> She's either a diabetic or she >> Why don't you go pick on the bad guys? The criminals. I am a woman. I live here. I contribute to this community. >> Ma'am, I understand that. in front of bad guys. >> Nobody's something. Either you you're possibly a diabetic or you've been drinking one or the other. And your behavior >> could be either >> because you're irrational. One minute you're very calm and the next I want my husband I want my husband here right now. >> I'm not answering any more of your questions. >> Phone number. >> I want my husband. >> What's his phone number? >> I don't know by heart. >> Well, how do you expect us to know your husband's phone number? Call Call information >> for his cell phone number. >> Yeah, >> that doesn't work there. Information isn't even a thing anymore. >> You won't call my husband. >> You won't call my husband. Excuse me. >> I said >> you're going to regret that. You're going to regret that. >> I'm not going to regret anything. >> Call my husband. I demand you call my husband. I DEMAND IT. >> I WANT MY HUSBAND CALLED. My husband needs to be called. HE LOOKS AFTER ME. >> Can you come over here? Let me explain something to you. >> Do you understand? I have a problem. >> We know. We're trying to figure out what that problem is. >> I'm not drunk. >> Okay. Well, I smell something that smells alcohol. >> Yeah. Smells like alcohol. >> I asked if you had it if you >> No, just to see what I >> After refusing a medical check for possible low blood sugar, her behavior escalated. She began yelling and in a sudden burst forcefully swung her car door into a responding officer. From that moment on, the tone shifted fast. >> Okay, PUT ME IN JAIL. LET'S GO. LET'S GO. PUT ME IN JAIL. HERE WE GO. YOU'RE NOT hit me in jail. >> You're not going to hit me with the damn door. I got that. I'm telling you that right now. You're not hit me WITH jail now. You want it? You're >> I'm 85 years old. >> I don't give a damn. >> What the are you doing to me? >> What are you doing to me? >> You put me in jail. Yep. Yep. You hit him with the door. >> You hit me with the door. That's the game's over. We're not playing now. >> Okay, put me in jail. I don't care. >> I have so much money I'll get out of this. You are [ __ ] You know, you >> do you want your key fob? >> Um, >> I remember some of you guys want to clear her at the at the Sally Court. >> Probably. So, but um Brian's off the 10. I still need you to come this way then. >> All right. Cuz this became a police matter. We just we just didn't even know what >> Well, here's the thing. I can either she's got either she's a diabetic >> or she has she's drink like a wine glass in the back that have smells like >> I mean when and then when she when I said yes no alcohol she went >> I mean I al >> I can't when she drove in our probation >> she pulled in and parked right there. >> Pulled in parked there flagged over probationary firefight. He came and got me. >> Okay. I came out to see what was going on. There's a lot. It happened. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, where you trying to get to? I don't know. Okay. Well, where do you live? I don't know. On the water somewhere. And she just was not acting, >> right? >> So, she's like, I don't have my phone. I can't call my husband. I'm like, okay, well, what's your address? You have I don't know what my address is. Do you have an ID? And she gave us her driver's license. >> Okay. So at that point we had alerted the dirt the duty crew was going on for not acting right. >> Okay. >> I tried to get a phone number on the computer went to an association. I couldn't get anyone to answer. >> Okay. >> So we couldn't get a hold of the husband or >> Okay. So you did try to call for a husband. >> Uh Juno Beach. >> Okay. >> To see if they could come up with a name. She was knowingly on >> after five. Okay. Fire personnel tried to deescalate, even looking up contact information for her homeowners association in Juno Beach, hoping for a softer resolution. No answer. After multiple attempts to create an off-ramp, patients met reality. I said to her, I said, "Well, I'm concerned either maybe if you were having a diabetic issue or you've been drinking one or the other." And that's when she went, "I blew in my face two times." And I'm like, "Well, no, I smell alcohol." And that's when she >> Yeah. I mean, at the end of the day, we try to be her advocate. see what's going on. >> Yeah. >> And she was not complying and you know and it's like >> Yeah. >> I'm just trying to help it. >> Yeah. Okay. >> All right. I just want to make sure. So for our report. >> Um so when I asked her if she was a diabetic and I said that about and she blew her breath on me. Um she's like just take me to jail and she opened the door and just slammed it into me and I said oh no that's it. You're done. You're going I I'm not putting up with that. No what kind of car you drive. She kept telling us how much money I don't get. I said ma'am I don't care how much money you had. I I really don't care. >> I don't I don't care. >> Everything was my body camera, I'm sure. >> Yes. >> Yes. >> And you're okay? >> Yes, I'm fine. >> I mean, it didn't feel good, but I'm not hurt. But I don't Is she really 85? >> She Yeah, she's old. >> But the thing is is they had to take the key fob away. She tried to back. The rescue was back farther than she tried to back into the rescue. They took the key fob from her. But one minute she's this and that, which is to me is the alcohol. >> Hang on. >> Ma'am, you wanted to speak to me? I want to apologize. I'm sorry if I said something that upset you. >> You didn't say anything that upset me, ma'am. You hit me with the car door. You pushed the car door into me. I was trying to find out if you were having a medical problem so that we could get you taken care of >> and you were angry at the questions that I was asking you. I >> You're going to put me in jail. >> I am. You hit me. You cannot batter a law enforcement officer. >> Well, I'm very sorry. I apologize. >> I accept your apology. It doesn't change things, but >> you know who I am, how much I contribute to this community. I don't I don't know and it's it's irrelevant because it doesn't excuse the behavior. >> She was ultimately transported to jail and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and disorderly intoxication. Bond was set at $4,000, which she posted for release. Although she pleaded not guilty in court, prosecutors later dropped both charges. Once the footage went public, viewers were quick to weigh in and the opinions were anything but quiet. This seems like dementia with a side of wine. She's been making people miserable for decades. First time I've heard a woman ask, "Do you know who I am?" Because she herself genuinely doesn't know. What do you think about this wealthy woman believing she was somehow above the law? Drop your thoughts in the comments below. But this story doesn't end here. The next driver takes Bold to a whole new level. >> Hey, listen. Stop. Hey, listen. I need your Hey, >> Melanie. Hey, listen. Stop. Look at me. On March 19th, 2025, at a busy intersection near Pensacola Beach, officers were dispatched after reports of a woman standing outside her vehicle with the door wide open in the middle of moving traffic. What started as a roadside welfare check quickly turned into a serious public safety concern. >> Yeah, we're just coming from the beach. >> If the reason stopped because you were obstructing traffic by having your door wide open and if I would have kept all >> if I would have kept all going, your door would got clipped with you in it. Yeah. No, I know. I just I just had to I just opened the door. I had opened the door when I was right there just because like I had Oh, >> did you drop something? >> Yes. >> What did you drop? >> I had dropped it. >> Well, did y'all have fun at least? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Have your license, registration, insurance. >> You said you were coming from the beach. >> Yes. Yes, sir. >> All right. Pensacola Beach. >> Yes, sir. You had your ID in your hand and you put it. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, I'm not. That's my sister's ID for Elma. That's my sister. That's not me. >> Why do you have her ID? >> I just I just have it just because I have it with somebody. >> The reason I tried to double verify you come from the beach cuz the beach is that way and we are going that way. Yeah, I I came from that way. I work out there as well. We We at the cooler. We have everything. We were coming from that way. >> Are you all right? >> Whoops. >> I'm just being honest. >> Oh, yeah. Look at that. I don't think I've done anything really. >> I know. I just I We were just on a ride home. I I'm willing to step out. You guys I don't have any girls or anything like that >> here. Well, I would like to step out. However, the >> We're kind of having a pretty >> I'm not going to lie. I've had >> I've had one drink. I've had one drink with my friend at the beach. >> Okay. >> Melanie claimed she had just left the beach. Yet, her direction of travel suggested otherwise. That contradiction hinted at impaired awareness. Her admission of having a drink and a half sounded almost casual, as if minimizing the situation might somehow soften it. >> Just leave everything down there. Just go ahead and step up. >> Yeah, I was stepping out. I was I was putting He said that I could get out. I was between my shoes. >> Don't worry about that. You put that down. Just sit up. >> It was between my sho Yeah. Sorry. >> You said you was going to make sure those two are okay back there. >> Yeah, they are. So, they're fine. >> So, outside of you saying you had a drink. Um, >> one drink. >> Okay. >> I mean, well, I've had a drink and a half. If I need to walk or do anything or anything like that, I'm willing to do that. >> Okay. Yeah. So, I'm going to ask you be willing to go ahead and do some Serfield soriety exercises. Those are what they call. Yes, sir. >> Okay. Yep. It's my whole health thing. I'll do whatever y'all need. I I've had one drink. I've been honest with y'all. That's right. >> I have one drink. >> Okay. >> I I I know that. Whatever y'all need me to do, I'll do. >> Feet together, hands down by your side. All right. You understand the instructions? >> Yes, sir. >> Ma'am, can you go here on me, please? Later, if you would go ahead and stand right here. You may begin. >> Oh, that's not Do you want me to lunge or like I just just want to I'm sorry. Like >> heel to toe steps, ma'am. Like I demonstrated. >> He to I'm sorry. Can you I don't know what you mean by heel to toe. The cooperative mask began to crack when she failed basic field sobriety tests. Heelto toe walking and standing on one leg. At that point, physiology spoke louder than words. Earlier confidence could no longer carry the weight of reality. >> We have one more exercise to do. Okay. Raise your foot. >> You what? >> Yep. You may begin. >> 6 in. What? >> Yes. 6 in above the ground. Like this. M >> for how long? >> You can relax. All right. So, you can relax. You set your phone down in the front seat. Actually, I'm here. Can you stand by his front bumper real quick, please? >> Hey, if you have a seat over there in front of my car. Okay. >> I need a car. >> Yeah. We We'll get to that. Come on. Come over here. >> We'll get ma'am. We'll get to that. Ma'am, >> over here. Over here. >> Hey. Hey. Have to be aggressive. >> We're not This is being about as least aggressive as we can be. Okay. Yeah. So, we'll go right on over here. >> We're going to hit somebody. >> No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Call them. LET ME CALL. LET ME CALL SOMEBODY. >> WE WILL. >> NO. NO. I JUST >> WE WILL call somebody. >> MY PHONE IS DEAD. LET ME CALL MY OWN MAN ABOUT MY SON. >> DON'T RESIST. >> STOP. >> NO. >> DJ. [screaming] DJ. COME HERE. >> REALLY? >> You're under arrest for do you want? >> But but y'all can get somebody in the car. >> So, how you going to call someone from a dead phone? >> Okay. So, we can let you call someone. Just cuz you're in handcuffs doesn't mean you can't get a call. >> Oh, yeah. All right. >> I wouldn't want to sit there and handcuff you in front of your kids. >> All right. So, >> we won't be able to get to that phone. >> Yeah, man. I just can't. >> Y'all can't follow me home. >> No, we have a zero tolerance policy. >> Really? >> What? >> Really? >> What? >> Really? >> No. >> Really? >> Melanie asked to call a family member using a phone with a dead battery. A small detail that revealed deeper disorientation. When officers moved in to arrest her, she resisted in front of her children, escalating the gravity of the moment. >> One drink at the beach. Relax. Relax. >> Go ahead. Lift it up. Lift it up. >> Relax. Lift it up. >> Relax. Damn. >> Damn. What are you doing? >> You're fine. Let it go. Let it go. Let it go. I have anything. >> Where you go? >> Not with my kids. >> Let it go. >> Weird. >> CALL THEM. >> CALL YOUR MOM OUT >> THAT WE didn't find. When you go to the jail, it's going to be another charge. >> I don't have anything stuff. You've been here. >> Me. Take me. Take me. All right. Here we go. Let's go. Are we putting Let's go. My kids. >> I'll move my car. >> No. My kids and my car. My kids and my car. >> No, we're going. Yeah, you're >> going. Get in. Get in. What's your name? >> Officer Thompson. Get in. >> Officer Officer what? >> Officer Thompson. Officer what? Thompson what? >> Thompson what? Thompson what? >> There's nothing after Thompson. >> Pull in here to get away from you. you. >> No, that's just how her poor driving was >> cuz she was stumbling outside in the middle of of suries as I'm rolling by with like her door wide open. I hit my brakes and traffic behind me has to stop because she's just got the door wide open in the middle of traffic. >> So I pull around, hit the lights, she comes over, she drives over right over the little triangle barrier over here. As she continued yelling inside the patrol car, officers conducted a search and discovered cocaine and marijuana near the driver's side door. The presence of narcotics added context to her earlier panic and loss of control. >> That was in the >> right here. Stuck right here. >> Right here in this passenger. >> Goodness gracious. >> I feel like there's going to be more. >> I mean, if you would have seen the way she was acting. Oh, I saw the way up there. >> Just getting to the initial stop was paint. Goodness. There's weed on the brush. >> Yeah, there's weed in here, too. It's not a lot, but it's like >> enough. I'm testing. >> Okay. >> Look at me. How about Look, Melanie, you're Hey, Melanie. Stop. LOOK AT ME NOW. >> MELANIE, >> I need you. Melanie, listen. I did this and he did this for me. I'm asking you to calm down. He only opened it for me. Get boogie on the dell. OKAY. GET BOOGIE ON THE HEM. Oh man. Oh man. >> I mean it's not funny. I got >> Come on, bro. >> Hey, if you don't stop, you're going to get your son is right there. HEY, >> IF you don't stop, we're going to get >> I'm on my way home. >> Don't man. >> I ain't going nowhere. Don't man. >> Oh, I am going to get out. Go ahead. >> I'm getting out. Don't man. >> Where I'm going with these cups? >> I'll let you. >> I know you got that. Hey, >> don't man. >> Sir, I don't need a >> Hey, get your hands off me. Get out of the car. I'm getting out, sir. >> I'm getting out. Get your hands off me. Stop. I'M GETTING OUT. STOP. >> Come on. Get out. >> I'M GETTING OUT. >> YOU ARE NOT. YOU'RE not moving your legs. >> Let's go, >> sir. Let's go. >> I am. >> You are not. Move your feet. Let's go. >> I'm not in my right leg. I'm getting out. Let go of my arm. >> Let go OF ME, PLEASE. SIR. SIR, >> GET OUT. LET GO OF ME. >> GET OUT. SIR, I'M TRYING TO GET >> Come on, get out. >> I have a ride in my name. Please let go of me, man. Let go of me, MAN. GET OUT. LET GO OF ME, MAN. >> Get out. >> I'm trying to get I don't need you. >> She was transported to jail and initially faced charges including resisting an officer without violence, felony child neglect, felony possession of cocaine, and driving under the influence. However, prosecutors ultimately declined to pursue the felony counts. Melanie pleaded guilty to DUI and was sentenced to probation on August 7th, 2025. As for the next intoxicated driver, the lesson arrived a lot faster than she ever expected. >> All right. What was that? >> What you want to zip tie me? You know what? >> On November 25th, 2025 in Palm Beach, Florida, officers responded to a traffic crash after reports that the driver attempted to leave the scene. Here's what actually unfolded. >> Hi. Were you driving or passenger? A passenger right now is driving. >> Do you have your ID with you? >> Oh, mine's in this truck. >> Okay. >> Do you need firefighters? >> No. No, we're both okay. Just >> You're saying it doesn't move. >> Yeah. The wheels stuck. >> Okay. >> The light and this car just came in and hit the side. >> Are you getting your car? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Do you want mine too or you don't? >> Yes, please. Come back. Let me wait till the cars go. >> Okay. >> Is your bag? >> It's in my in my toe. >> We're getting a car that's going to block it. >> You have an ID on you? I didn't say >> Yeah, I do. Let me see your ID. >> Look, you're going to like >> Let me see your ID. >> I know that I don't have a driver's license and I should have been driving, but I'm being honest with you. Okay, >> you feel me? >> Yep. >> Okay. I swear to God, I always >> It's so crazy. >> We're good for a deal. >> Hi. >> Hi. >> How are you? >> Are you okay? >> 652. >> Hey, whose car is it? >> 52. 65. >> What happened? >> Just a lot of different >> going on. >> Okay. Okay. Did you did I don't know if they asked you, but do you need any medical attention? >> No, I'm good. >> I'm actually a you card pulmonary respiratory therapist. >> So, I'm good. >> Are you able to Are you able to walk and everything? >> Yeah. >> All right. Let's go over this way. We're going to get out of the roadway. Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Lauren repeatedly emphasized her job as a respiratory therapist, seemingly trying to reinforce credibility. Yet at the same time, she appeared unaware that she had struck another vehicle despite standing right there at the crash site. >> Well, right now, what we're concerned is for your safety, number one. Number two, the accident. Okay. So, we're going to we're going to figure that out. >> Well, we'll talk about it a little bit more once we get over there. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, where were you which way were you driving? South the victim vehicles here plug in a window or east I should say east. >> Okay. You were on WBR. This is this is Wilbright, >> right? >> And that's Well, this is Federal or this is Wilbright to get to Federal. So, I was driving east to full uh to Federal. >> Okay. And so, you don't even know that you hit a car. Hey, just move your car. >> I don't. That's like really bad. >> I want to leave a link. >> I apologize. >> Yeah. Sorry. >> So, you don't remember hitting anything at all? >> Sorry, buddy. >> I listen because at the end of the day, I want you to >> I know. I got you. >> We're going to talk about the accident first. Okay. >> I I I understand. >> [ __ ] You were >> You were driving this way. >> You were driving this way. >> I was going east. Okay. >> I was going west to east. >> You were going west to east. Okay. >> Right. >> So, you were coming from where? >> My mom's house. I'm staying with her right now. >> Okay. >> So, we'll say that I live with her right now. >> Okay, that's fine. Where were you headed? >> I'm not sure. I don't know. >> You just decided to leave the house. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, I was like, you know what? I I want I'm like wanting to go. >> Okay. All right. Well, hold on. >> Her disorientation reflected more than alcohol impairment. It also suggested a psychological response to looming legal consequences. As the focus shifted from a routine accident to a DUI investigation, Lauren began offering explanations that softened, reframed, and minimized her behavior. >> [ __ ] I don't know. What did you have? >> Um, uh, Jim Beam, bourbon, uh, >> was it was it like a little bit like a glass? >> Jim Beam per bourbon. What do you call it? Uh, honey bourbon. >> And this was all at mom's house. >> Yeah. >> Okay. How long ago was that? >> Like two hours ago. >> Okay. Do you have any medical issues or anything like that? >> No. >> Okay. Other than Well, now that you know, you were involved in an accident. Other than tonight, were you involved in any other accident prior to right now? >> No. >> Okay. Um any concussions, anything like that? >> No. >> Okay. Any inability to like perform any task walking properly? >> Standing? >> No. >> Everything? No surgeries? Nothing like that? Of >> course, I've had surgeries. >> Okay. Recent surgeries? >> No. >> Okay. Are you on any medication? that might any medication that might impair you from driving. >> Yeah, I'm on um >> that you shouldn't be driving and and having Well, they say I shouldn't be driving, but I'm fine. >> I'm going to ask you, are you willing to perform any field of driving tests tonight so I can determine if you're able to drive or not? >> Oh, you have this now? >> I do. >> Oh my god, Kelly. >> So, what does that mean? >> So, pretty much I would walk you through some exercises. Okay. And then from there it would determine whether you're impaired or not. >> I am impaired. >> Okay. So, are you willing to perform these tasks? >> No, >> you're not. Okay. >> So, is that is that going to like >> Well, that being said, I do have to read you something. Okay. >> All right. Whatever. >> I mean, you feel me? Like, I should have been a cop. >> I get it. >> I would have been a really good cop except I was a [ __ ] Claiming she should have been a cop felt like an attempt to narrow the authority gap in the conversation. But moments later, she refused field sobriety tests and her demeanor shifted completely. The cooperative tone faded fast. >> Young. >> Young what? >> This is my lesson. >> Young. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Miss uh Lauren, >> listen to me. Um I'm going to ask you again. Are you willing to perform in the field test tonight? >> Yeah. >> You are willing to? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you changed your mind. I guess I did cuz of these [ __ ] >> What? What did they do? >> Cuz they're [ __ ] >> Oh, well, you're willing to do this. >> [ __ ] you, [ __ ] >> You know what I'm trying to say, you motherucker. >> [ __ ] you. >> What? In your opinion, was Lauren's early honesty, genuine remorse, or the first move in a strategy to manage the narrative? But the next woman goes even further. So she tries to silence a witness and the officer that was in charge gave her my name. >> You're all again. You're going to have to drop these charges, too. On September 20th, 2025 in Florida, a woman reported that her neighbor was pressuring her not to testify in a criminal case. When the alleged threats crossed a legal line, law enforcement stepped in. So, what really happened? >> What's going on the street? >> Well, let's understand what's going on before we go talk to her, just just so that we know what we're doing. >> So, we're I'm sitting in the garage with my husband. I hear my husband um stand up and ask her, "What are you doing?" She's sitting at the edge of my driveway videotaping saying that I'm lying on her husband. She said I was lying on her husband and that her husband didn't try to run me over. He drove up in the grass over here, which is not true. >> Yeah. Yeah. We can trespass her from the property, but from the roadway. >> I understand that. >> You know what I mean? Like technically. So here, and that's where I tell people like it's not a comfortable thing, but can she film your driveway? Cuz there's no expectation of privacy in your driveway. >> I understand, but I don't feel I feel like No, you definitely Yeah, I got you. witness and her husband. You know what I'm saying? >> And I'm out here now before y'all got here making sure her husband ain't around the corner. >> She lives where? >> You make a red. That's from what the cops told me last time we were here. I don't know the address. >> Where's Give me one time. >> I'm going to look up witness intimidation, but I don't think you have it. >> What What car does she drive? What type of car does she drive? >> A black Mustang, but she shouldn't be driving. She got a DUI the same night her husband tried to run me over. She tried to come back to my house to all the cops here be lying down the street. They tagged her at the end of the street. While the cops were talking to me, her husband comes hooking around the corner with a dog with a knife. I kid you not. I have it on video. >> I think I'm all the way down here. They had to tase him like three, four times. >> This wasn't your typical difficult neighbor dispute. Officers believed someone was attempting to intimidate a witness. A serious allegation that often reflects a sense of entitlement. When questioned, the suspect immediately asked for an attorney and redirected responsibility back onto others. >> I got you. Can I Can I talk to you real quick? >> Can I talk to you real quick? I just want to inform you about something. >> I'm just walking to my neighborhood. >> But I got to talk to you real quick. >> You can't talk to me. >> I have a lawyer. >> That's fine. >> She approached me. >> Who is she? uh the girl that assaulted me physically at Circle K that I'm now suing civily and she claimed that my husband and I drew up her lawn tried to kill her after she assaulted me and the officer that was in charge gave her my name >> so she could report nobody spells my name correct >> I don't know this woman from anywhere my name is You go into your property today? >> Absolutely not. That decision escalated the encounter, leading officers to physically detain and handcuff her because you violated my >> Why are you arresting? >> Oh, I I can't walk. I can't wait to see you guys. >> That's not the issue. I'm waiting for you. >> I didn't I walked by. You want to see my video? >> Give me a second. Well, here's the thing. >> I'm not getting any. Why are you trespassing on people's property asking for their property? Listen, they don't have to give you nothing. So, stop asking. >> I didn't walk on their property. >> You're on this person's property asking for ring cameras. Yeah. I don't know. >> Do you give me permission to be on G? >> That's not the point. Stop walking all over the place. You've been loud and rude to me since I walked up telling me you going to sue me and I got all this. That's what you said. >> I am silly. >> Okay, cool. But >> I had plenty of >> Just wait for me here. Right here. [music] >> A holy relic? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Is that going to stick or poke me? >> No, it's fine. >> She insisted she was gathering evidence to protect her husband, but her method involved infringing on someone else's privacy. Upon realizing the officers had dealt with her before, she pivoted to allegations of personal retaliation, a familiar turn in high conflict encounters. >> She approached me. >> Okay. I was quietly. Can I show you the video? >> Can I show you the video before you arrest me? >> How she approached me first? >> Can I show you the video? >> You're going to jail. You need to obviously stop drinking every time. >> I'm not drinking. >> Okay. >> Wow. >> Welcome to the >> My You guys are unbelievable. >> Unbelievable. So I was walking down the street to see if there was cameras to prove that we never drove up on her property. >> Okay. So not talk on her property. If you're going to talk over me, we're window going to go up and we're going to be done. All right. And now >> I'm finishing my being. >> Okay. So, are you done? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, the reason you're going to jail is cuz you got no business talking to her. Period. Right now, >> she talked to me. >> Okay. You're again, you're going to talk. >> If you look at my video, >> you will see >> you have no business being in front of her house. All right. We're done. We're done. >> When a supervisor's presence didn't change the outcome, Karen shifted again. This time toward comments about the officer's race and background. The argument was no longer the focus. As logic thinned out, tone took over and the moral facade began to slip. >> I can't wait to show that video because you're all again. You're going to have to drop these charges, too. And then I can sue you again civily. What? What? Why am I being arrested? Did you come up with the uh the charger with whatever she want to? Cuz I heard it. Are you not going to answer? >> I already told you why you be in charge. >> What am I in charge? >> Witness tempering. >> Witness. >> I'm the victim. >> But they'll witness. >> I'm the victim. >> They don't give you the word. >> You idiot. How is it witness tampering if I'm the victim? And I contacted my aunt who was an FBI agent and my uncle was the head south Florida FBI agent for years and so was my uncle FBI upon an investigation that you just take her word and not mine and I got to go to the supreme mother and I will, sweetheart. I live humble, but this is going to end. >> She was ultimately arrested and charged with witness tampering, disorderly intoxication, and resisting an officer without violence. [music] Bond was set at $3,000. Once the footage surfaced online, viewers didn't hold back, and the comment section quickly filled with strong opinions. [music] What are your thoughts on how this woman handled the situation? Drop your take in the comments below. I'd really like to hear where you stand on it. Think that was the peak. The next one gets even more creative when it comes to dodging responsibility. >> Someone back there. We're clear. >> My daughter. >> On July 24th, 2025 in Walkagan, Illinois, an SUV suddenly [music] crashed into a building in the middle of a quiet afternoon. In the passenger seat sat a 13-year-old girl. The driver identified as Jaime attempted to maintain control of the narrative even as the physical scene suggested otherwise. >> Are you guys okay? >> Yes. >> Really? >> It's okay. >> Hurt anyone? >> It's okay. >> Oh my god. >> It's okay. >> CALL. >> Anybody hurt? >> ANYBODY HURT? >> NO, it wouldn't stop. >> It's okay. So she was parked there and like whenever she reversed she just like kept came and kept going >> like like I mean >> Yeah. kept going. My car was hit. I was not in it, but the car was freaking smashed to smitherines. >> Yes. I was in the farmers market and I came back and there was all these squad cars and I had the cart parked on the street and somebody hit it and they ran into the building where the moose lodge is >> and my car was hit on another vehicle. >> Okay. Um like I said, if we need anything from you, we'll be in contact with you. Okay. >> Okay. Thanks. >> Yeah. Thank you. >> My husband. Okay, you guys are okay and everything. I saw you guys. Okay, they said she was in the car. >> She wasn't in the car. >> No, I was over there. Okay, we just wanted to make sure that every everybody everybody's okay. >> You have a 95 assist to it. >> 95. >> I'm sorry. >> Any witness? Anybody? >> Uh yeah, we got a I got a couple. I mean, it seems like she was parked and then like she just like reversed and I wasn't able to stop the vehicle. So, who knows if it was a malfunction or, you know, something else. As soon as officers arrived, Jaime claimed the vehicle had suffered a mechanical failure and wouldn't stop. But witnesses told a different story. They reported seeing her press hard on the accelerator while reversing. Two versions, one crash site. >> There's no one in the car. Someone back there. >> Clear. We're clear. >> Shot across. Hit his car. This car was coming down the road. He hit that one. He kept going. She said it wouldn't stop. She kept hitting the brakes and it wouldn't stop. >> Can you come over here for me, please? 816. >> What's your name? You take your glasses off? >> Yes. >> Yours is the white. >> Are you hurt? Are you okay? >> No. >> Okay. You guys need first out there. You want me to contact building and zoning or get you? >> Okay. >> How many reported injuries do you guys have out there? >> All right. Cuz I saw that there was a pit case of beer in the uh >> Oh, yes. That was from the other night. >> That's from the other night. >> Yeah. I have not had that. >> I noticed what happened. >> I went to back up >> and then the car literally just went and my daughter's like, "Stop, stop. I couldn't. I literally I couldn't get a billion stuff. It's >> okay. So, do me a f I know. Just go ahead. Take everybody over there. >> These are her. >> I understand that. I understand. >> We have an ambulance. They're going to stay with you. >> So, you did the airbags go off. Did you hit your head or anything? >> No. >> No. I'm fine. Fine. >> Okay. Do you wear glasses? >> No. >> No. >> Well, I mean reading, but who cares? Yeah. >> Uh, I'm going to ask you to take a couple tests real quick. Okay. >> All right. The first one is going to be if you just keep your heads hands by your side. All right? And you're going to follow the tip of my finger here. All right? You're going to go left to right, up or down. You're going to keep your head still. All right? And you're just going to follow it left to right. Okay? You understand? >> Yes. >> Jamie leaned into status and connections as if reputation could reshape perception. She seemed to believe that being seen as a good person might tip the scale. But field sobriety tests don't grade on character references. I feel so bad. >> Yeah, we're moving up. >> Sorry. >> Feel my daughter. >> I'm sorry. I didn't mean to move. I can feel my daughter. >> Keep following me. Yes, sir. >> One of the vehicles is in the building. >> Else matters right now. I need you to focus here. All right. >> Do you have any problems with your legs? >> No, not at all. I mean, I have a bruise on my butt right now, but it's totally fine. >> All right. >> Yep. >> So, what I'm going [snorts] have you do is is what I'm going have you do is all right is I'm going have you either one, left leg, right leg, whichever one you prefer. Okay? >> You're going to raise your foot approximately 6 in off the ground parallel to the ground. >> All right? It's going to look something like this. While your foot is in the air, you're going to count 1 1,00 2 1 3 1. >> Okay. >> All right. Until you get to 31,000. >> All right. >> Okay. >> That's a big number. >> All right. 1 100 1 2 100 3 100 4 100 5 100 6 We'll go ahead and begin. Okay. 1 100 1 2 100 3 100 4 100 5 100 6 100 7 100 >> 8 100 9 100 11 100 12 100 13 100 14 100 15 100 >> 16 100 17 100 18 100 19 100 2100 21 >> 22 100 23 1 Nope. Yet her physical indicators suggested otherwise. After failing the tests, she shifted to concern for her daughter, introducing emotion when logic began to unravel. So, how much did you had to drink while you were at the moose? >> Three. >> Three drinks. >> All right. How about anything while you were walking around the farmers market? >> Yeah, I had >> um Wait, hold on. Hold on. Did I have three there or two there? I I honestly I honestly don't know. Oh, we were here since like a couple hours. >> Yeah, we were here since like 3:20. It's just a glass of wine. That's it. >> All right. So, one last thing I'm going to ask you to do, okay, is to give a breath sample. All right? This will just kind of lock everything in. Uh, you know, the feels weren't bad. I was >> Let me tell you something. >> Huh? >> I didn't eat earlier, so I'm afraid to do it now. So, what do I do? Do I refuse? >> Well, that is up to you. You I cannot give you the legal advice. Um, you know, food doesn't have a lot of play with alcohol. You know, it's time consuming and if you've been here 6:00, you know, it's 6:30, >> so it's been 3 hours. Uh, but this will give us an idea of where levels are at. Can't give you the legal advice, right? Um, >> I don't want to refuse you. >> If you if you've 3 hours, five drinks, I don't think that it would be the end of the world mathematically, right? Um, >> what do I do then on my kids? >> No, I'm seriously asking. >> I am seriously, you know, >> it my car wouldn't stop. I promise you. I just had it in the shop. >> And I understand that and that could be something to be looked at at a later date, but this is right now what I'm looking at right now, right? My partner is handling the crash accident and we're looking at this right now. Jaime attempted to reframe the officer's role from enforcer to counselor, perhaps hoping for lastminute sympathy, but once she refused a breath test at the scene, the process moved forward without flexibility. The arrest followed standard procedure. >> My final warning. >> I understand. >> All right. Would you like to presided a breath sample? >> Oh, thank you. >> If you could turn around. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. At this time, you're going to be placed under arrest for DUI. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. I brought [clears throat] you over here so that we kind of get out the view cuz your daughter's over there. All right. Can you come over here? >> I don't know what to do. How do my kids get home? >> Oh, was you are you married or do you have >> I'm separated, divorced. >> Yes. >> Watch your head. >> 8123. I want to cuss for 55. >> Payton, I chose this. I didn't blow. It's fine. Take Kenzie. >> All right. Just give me one moment. I'll be right back. All right. >> I'm trying to get out there. >> You're stuck. You can't go anywhere for life. You're just right here the entire time because you chose to stop and be a good citizen and help the situation. [laughter] >> Okay. I'll take a quick >> Thank you, officer. >> Y What's your first name, miss? >> Jamie. >> Doing okay. >> This is not my like I'm not kidding you. Like, I'm not hammered. Like, it wasn't a thing. Like I just had my car in the shop and I'm like there's a problem and I literally couldn't you can >> Were you parked and then >> Yes. >> You were trying to reverse out of a parking spot. >> No, I was trying to like So I was up next to where my son's Jeep is >> and then I tried to >> Yeah. Yeah. I got >> And then I tried to go backwards and then it wouldn't stop. It literally AND I KEPT STOP AND THEN IT KEPT going and then it hit the building and I heard screams and I'm like like I can't stop it and I literally I don't know where the the stupid parking brake is on that car. So I was like looking by my foot because that's where it normally is. I don't know where it is. I literally don't know where it is on that stupid car. >> It might be an electric one. You don't. >> Yeah, it might be. >> It has stupid buttons. Where are you going to gear? >> Doing okay. >> No. >> She was transported to jail and faced multiple charges. Two counts of DUI, two counts of endangering a child, reckless driving, improper backing, operating an uninsured vehicle, and illegal transportation of alcohol. If convicted, penalties could reach up to $5,000 in fines, and a one-year license suspension. If one driver blames the brakes, the next one takes a different route. She calls the police on herself. >> This is why I don't trust law enforcement. You need to give it back to me. >> 2:00 a.m. November 6th, 2025, Oslo Park. Officers responded after a series of unusual calls. The woman wasn't reporting a crime. Instead, she was requesting a service involving drugs. That request alone placed her in immediate legal jeopardy. Here's what actually unfolded. >> What can we do for you? >> Um, I want I thought you guys were going to bring me something. >> No, we're not. Yeah. >> Like drugs? >> Drug? What kind of drugs? >> Meth? >> What? >> Meth? >> What's that? Meth? >> Yeah. >> We're supposed to bring you meth? Do you have any on you? >> No. >> You don't have any meth on you? No. >> Are you sure? >> Yeah, I'm positive. Okay. Do you >> Well, yeah, pretty sure. >> You're pretty sure you don't. >> I don't have any. >> Do you want me? >> Yeah. >> When's the last time you used? >> Um, 22 days ago, maybe. >> Do you still have Do you smoke it? >> Yeah. >> You still have your pipe on you? You're going to go in handcuffs. >> Why? I didn't do it. Why are you guys being >> Okay, we're now we're now conducting a drug paraphernalia possession investigation. Okay. >> You You're telling us you have a meth pipe in your purse. We're now going to conduct an investigation. Okay. It's in your immediate vicinity. This purse belongs to you. Obviously, we are conducting a drug investigation now. Sit right there. >> What are you talking about? How are you guys doing that to me? >> How are we not doing this? >> No. In her mind, law enforcement seemed less like officers and more like some kind of delivery service, except they showed up without what she expected. That disconnect instantly shifted the tone of the encounter. >> You guys doing that? >> It's a It's a probable cause search. >> It is a probable cause search. >> No, you need to give it back to me. This is why I don't trust law enforcement. You need to give it back to me. >> Sit on the ground or you're going to go in handcuffs. >> I'm not doing You can't stop me. >> Yes, I can. You're about to go in handcuffs. >> You are going to go in handcuffs. Why am I going? >> You are going to go in handcuffs. >> Give me your hands. Give me your hand. Resisting with >> No, I didn't do anything. >> Yeah, you did. >> This is harassment. >> No, it's not. >> Why are you guys doing this to me? >> We're not doing anything. >> Why do you guys always put me in jail? Oh, >> you told us you had a meth pipe on you. >> You can't really arrest somebody for that anyway. But what? >> Yes, we can. >> It's drug paraphernalia. >> No, you can't do this. I don't want to go back to jail. >> Yeah. Can we get at least one more unit, please? >> No. >> Good. Come out, female. >> I don't want to go back to jail. >> Well, if you just stop, everything will probably calm down a little bit. You see, you're not calming down. So, >> I am I'm not doing anything. >> We'll move this one. >> All in your belly. >> At first, it involved drug paraphernalia, a relatively straightforward charge. But once resistance and physical struggle entered the picture, the situation pivoted. Sometimes one impulsive choice is all it takes to turn a minor issue into something far more serious. Get up. Stand up. >> Stand up. There you go. 22. Can keep you interpreted for a female search. >> You have anything on you? >> No. >> Okay. I don't want >> Do you have any weapons anywhere in here? >> No, I didn't even do anything. >> Nothing inside of you? >> No, I didn't. I don't want to go to jail. Please. I don't want to go. I don't want to go to jail. >> That is the car. >> We didn't want you to go to jail. That's not how this was supposed to go down. >> I don't want to go to [laughter] >> You keep moving, which is going to be having me do this. Spread your feet. Spread your feet. Keep your foot just like >> I don't want to go back to jail. >> I didn't want you to go back to jail. >> I don't want to go to jail. >> We have discretion with misdemeanors. If you just been cool, if you just had a meth pipe on you, we could have just taken for discretion. >> You guys to take it though. Yeah, but then you resisted and then you kicked us and then you pushed us. >> Look, I'm going to call a spade a spade here. Getting a drug pipe is not If you really want to do drugs, it's not hard to get another one. Okay, I don't want you to have another one. But if you want to go to jail over want not wanting to lose one you have was not a very smart move. Okay, I did not want to have to tackle you and bring you to the ground. Okay, you're putting me in an unsafe position. I want to make sure you take your weapons. >> Regret often arrives when consequences are already closing in. For individuals struggling with substance dependency, fear of punishment exists alongside impaired judgment. And when you call the police for something that violates the law, the outcome is rarely surprising. >> And you almost got tased. You were pretty close. All >> [laughter] >> right, let's go. >> Can you guys let me go to jail? >> Please don't do this. >> I [laughter] don't want to go. >> Darling, I really need you to relax. Okay, honey. >> Just take a breath. >> Please. >> I don't want to go to jail, though. >> I just need to relax. That's all. >> Please relax. >> There's no need to be this hype. It's just It's a small thing. >> Do you want to sit down? We can sit you down >> if that's going to calm you down a little bit more. >> Sit on the curb. >> Can we sit you on the curb? I think you might like that a little bit better than standing. Okay. >> I feel him in. >> So, pretty basic. We walk up. She's sitting here. She says she was calling us so we can bring her meth, >> right? >> And we asked her if she had meth on her. I think she said she had a meth pipe. Said it was in her purse. So, we grabbed it. Probably cause search. That's when she kind of got a rate like, "Why are you taking my meth pipe?" Tried to stand up. I said, "Nope, stay on the ground. Don't stand up." Couple minutes or a minute later, tries to stand up again. That's when we got her detained. She resisted. Got her on the ground. Got her detained. So, this is where right now. >> The sheriff's office is not going to bring you drugs. >> Well, you guys do other stuff. >> They don't do things that are illegal, darling. Not like that. >> Can you guys let me go? >> Unfortun We're We're way past that. Okay. >> Why let me go? I don't want to go back to jail. >> We're way past that. Okay. >> I don't want to go back to jail. [laughter] Nope. Stay right there. >> I can't go back. >> Not going anywhere. Okay. [laughter] Just stay seated. We're being nice to you. >> Yeah, but I can't go to jail. >> I know. >> Because bad [ __ ] happens to me. >> I don't want to go back. [laughter] >> Stay down, man. From the beginning, this wasn't a wise decision. When she later asked to be released, it sounded as though she believed the night could simply reset. But real life doesn't come with an undo button. Once a line is crossed, the cost tends to exceed expectations. >> My purse, y'all are doing this. Oh, right here. See if there's any other useful. >> Yeah, yeah, definitely 100%. wants us to I didn't know if there's any >> tucked up in here. >> Yeah, she literally called and said she thought we were pranking that. >> Yeah, she's been calling all night. >> I'm like, it's a New York Alaska. >> Alaska, >> I guess. >> Yo. Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Um, just watch that headrest thing is down so she doesn't wind her head on it. You got it. >> Um, if you wanted just like not she was resisting but to the point where you kicked her. >> Oh, she kicked you. >> Yeah. When she kicked your legs, she kicked your my my hands and my legs when we had her on the ground. >> Yeah. She like went like this. Started kicking. Oh. Oh, she hit you. >> Yeah. >> Oh, you too. She pushed you. >> Was it when we were first bringing her down? >> Yes. >> She You went to grab She pushed me cuz my nose hurts. >> She must have She like swiped you and then I was going to tase her in the back, but then you took over her back. So, I was like, "Nope." >> She was ultimately transported to jail and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting an officer without violence. The takeaway is straightforward. Calling the police for drugs doesn't end with a delivery. It ends with handcuffs. If a 2 a.m. call sounds shocking, the next situation is even more dangerous. >> She's just angry and she's angry at her niece and she takes it out on me. On the evening of December 11th, 2024 in Bullhead City, Arizona, officers responded to a domestic violence call involving 39-year-old Vanessa. What began as a welfare style intervention quickly evolved into something far more serious than anyone anticipated. Here's what actually unfolded. >> My daughter, she's been in a mental hospital a lot of times. I don't know how many times. >> Okay? >> And she's like, she's at the hand right now. She's she hasn't been taking any medicine. Okay. >> And um she's getting very aggressive, you know, with me. She accuses me, you know, I her mom left me 20 years [clears throat] ago, and I still get blamed for that. >> Which house is it? This house right here. >> Okay. Where's she at? >> Oh, she she must have hung outside. >> You said she's getting bit she's getting uh aggressive. >> No, she's just like she doesn't know where she >> So, what do you want done? Well, she needs to go to a place where they they'll give her mental treatment. >> Okay. Um, has she threatened suicide? >> No, she has >> she threatened to hurt you? >> No, it's cuz one of my nieces her she doesn't get along with a niece. >> Okay. because uh she's her that niece is in on on that her exhusband's uh side and she called over here and gets her pissed off. >> Okay. >> And I don't have her phone number. One day she called me like 19 times. She's mentally ill. She's like pushing me and pushing me. And >> so she pushed you? >> Yes. >> You didn't tell me that. I asked you if she pushed you >> or hit you. Well, she didn't hit me, but she was pushing me. >> Okay. >> And then she said she took off her shoe and she hit me a few times with it. >> So, she did hit you. >> Yeah. >> A few times. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, see, that's different. That's not what That's not what you told me. >> Well, but you know, like I'm her father, you know, and she's just angry and she's angry at her niece and she takes it out on me. And I mean, >> so at some point or another after tonight, you're going to have to decide what you're going to do with this situation. If you keep letting her do this, then it's going to continue. >> The father attempted to frame the situation as a medical crisis. But locking him out of the house complicated that narrative. When a home turns into a barricade, it's often a sign that circumstances have moved well beyond a simple misunderstanding. I dropped my keys. >> Come on. Step over here. Come on. Step over here. Come on. Step over here. Watch that window so that No, just don't stand in front of it. That's what I'm trying to say. >> Can you come to the door and talk to me? >> Oh, no. You can call me if you need something. >> I don't want to talk to you through a door. >> Oh, I don't know. How do you guys norally talk to people is it like what how do you guys normally talk? >> Well, not through a door. Usually face to face. >> Okay. How how is face to face? >> What do you mean? >> Okay. Come on, Vanessa. Open the door and talk to me. >> Hey, how's it going? >> I'm not here to arrest you. If I called Teros out here, will you talk to them? >> What do you need? Um, what was that? You need from uh Officer Romero. >> No, I don't know who that is. But >> I don't know who you are either then. I'm his I'm his wife. Why don't you call him? >> I'll tell you what. >> Oh, no. You don't need to tell me anything. Call Officer Edward Romero and you figure it out. >> You know we're not in California, right? >> No. Where are you guys at? >> We're in Bullhead City. >> Oh, I know. You come down here to THE RIVER ALL THE GODDAMN TIME AND HE'S NOT FROM CALIFORNIA. He's from the river. >> I don't have any idea who you're talking. Your dad says you're in distress. >> Oh, I don't have it. I have Officer Edward Romero. >> I'm standing right here with your dad. >> Oh, that's your daddy now. >> No, no, it's your it's your father. >> Officer Edward Romero took care of everything in Riverside and LA. I can call you an LA officer, too. >> No, I'm not an LA officer. >> Stuff out here at the river. We're always have another key. >> Do I need a >> What? >> Oh, no. I'm sorry. That was the day my husband picked up a gas. >> The repeated mention of the officer's name and familiar storyline suggested mounting psychological pressure. When invoking the officer's wife angle failed to shift the dynamic, she pivoted quickly, repositioning herself as a victim of the system. >> I'm out here talking to your father. >> No, THAT'S OFFICER EDWARD ROMERO'S FATHER. He sold me TO HIM IN 2008. SO YOU GUYS KNOW HOW that goes. >> I don't know anything about that. I don't know. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO BECOME A POLICE OFFICER'S WIFE. >> OH. >> OH, I don't know. I don't know. We were only sheriffs down there in the city OF PALM DESERT RIVERSIDE COUNTY. PALM DESERT RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA. Maybe you can call a couple people to talk to Riverside down here AND TALK TO HIS [ __ ] GODDAMN WIFE. >> Aren't you divorced? >> Are we divorced? What you're doing? You divorce me? >> Uh, I don't know. at the [ __ ] call now. >> No, not right now. >> 22 WHEN I MET OFFICER EDWARD and his friends and they had them again AND THEY STILL MARRIED ME. My friend RIVERSIDE [ __ ] SHERIFF [ __ ] WITH PEOPLE. You ready to unlock the door? >> Riverside County Sheriff. >> Nope. I'm not going to Riverside County. >> As officers made entry to stabilize the scene, tension escalated within seconds. During the struggle, Vanessa produced a knife and injured an officer. From that moment forward, the encounter crossed into a far more severe category. >> Get out. Get out. >> Wonder what she's got. She stab ME IN THE LAKE. SHE stab me in the lake. Put her out. Help me. I have another set of cops right here in my arm. Got him right here. >> Dad, call my husband. >> Gas over there. >> Dad, call my husband, please. >> Daddy, >> you are under arrest for aggravated assault on a police officer. >> Give me your other [ __ ] hand. >> Daddy, help. PLEASE. >> THESE are [screaming] not. Okay. Okay. >> Can I get my sweater and my jacket now? >> Not getting a sweater or a jacket. >> My sweater, my jacket, Dad. >> Oh, you're hurting me. Sir, will you grab me a cigarette? >> I'm not getting a cigarette. >> Yes, they're kind to people. You need to call. >> You're not getting a cigarette. >> They're on the road for a cigarette. >> Can I please get up? >> No, you can stay right where you're at. >> It's okay. I'll be right. You're hurting my back. >> There you go. >> You're hurting my [laughter] back. >> There you go. That's better. Not putting any pressure on. Go outside. >> Hey, treat him. We're good in HERE FOR NOW. >> ALL RIGHT. READY? >> Treat him. We're good in here for now. >> Wait. Step back. >> No. Step back. Well, just grab it. Grab her. Grab her grab her some clothes. >> I got to the uh the knife's right behind me, Sean. >> Okay. >> I got the knife. >> Okay. >> I got her. >> You got her? >> Yep. >> Okay. You You want to stay with the knife? I'll walk it off. >> I'll stay with the knife. [snorts] >> Just stay over there, sir. >> Thank you. After the incident, priorities shifted to medical response. A tourniquet was applied, the injured officer was transported for treatment, and the wound required several stitches. Vanessa was also medically evaluated before the next phase of the process led to jail. >> Are you a police officer? >> Mhm. >> I am. >> Have you ever beat your wife? >> Nope. If your wife was suffering, what would you do for her? >> Take her to the hospital. >> Unfortunately, tonight that's not an option. You made some choices tonight that >> No, I don't think you [ __ ] goddamn understand. I made goddamn choices. Do you [ __ ] hear me? You think I make goddamn choices? You know what I am? I'm Mexican. No, listen for a [ __ ] goddamn moment. I'm Mexican. >> I'm Mexican and I used to [ __ ] clean toilets for my goddamn husband. I'm Mexican. I used to get on my [ __ ] knees and serve him. Do you [ __ ] goddamn understand? And I still stand with him every [ __ ] day and he still beat I paid everything to him to [ __ ] die. my friend. [sighs] Why did he have to beat me? Why does he hit me? Why does he fight with me? Why? >> I don't have an answer. >> Why? [laughter] I work hard and he hits me. Do you hear you? [laughter] >> I work hard. I'm American, too. I'm Mexican American. Why do I have to pay for it? Why do I have to pay for it? >> I don't have >> Every day I have to pay for it. >> Every [ __ ] day. I got to go pay for it. Do you hear you? It must be real nice to be you. Why don't you call me Officer Edwin Romero's wife? Why don't you pretend you're my husband today? And then you can understand what it's like to be a white boy with a Mexican girl while she has to [ __ ] get [ __ ] by you [ __ ] GODDAMN WHITE PEOPLE every day. Every [ __ ] day. Vanessa was ultimately booked on charges including aggravated assault and resisting law enforcement. She now faces the possibility of multiple years in Mojave County custody. The takeaway is clear. Mental health challenges may provide context, but they never grant permission for violence. The next case shows how emotional escalation alone can be enough to force police intervention. On January 3rd, 2026, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call placed by a daughter. [music] She reported that her mother had assaulted her fiance, leaving visible injuries. What began as a family dispute quickly moved beyond the boundaries of a routine argument. >> Can is there any way you can put the dog up? Uh, we're not I not allow anybody inside. I apologize. Fourth Amendment. I can't >> We have a call. So, we have to >> understand. She's right here. >> Okay. >> Can she come outside? >> Is there any way you can put the dog away, sir? >> Yes. >> Thank you. >> Yeah, it's not an option. >> Hi. >> Hi. How are you? >> I'm good. >> Is everything okay? What's going on here today? I got it under control. >> Okay. Can we get over here and talk, please? Away from the door, please. >> Yeah. >> Do you have So, what what's going on here today? Sorry. >> It's just he's he was drinking earlier and he got really angry. >> Okay. >> And I have it under control. I promise. Okay. >> And it was my daughter that probably called. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Yes, >> she did. Um, she she's just concerned. Do you Let me look here. She said you have some cuts on you. Did you cut yourself? Okay. So, you got a cut on your finger. How did you get that? >> I had a knife. >> Okay. Do you have any cuts anywhere else? >> No. >> Okay. Is it okay if we just have med come check you out? Just make sure everything's okay. I'm just going to Do you mind if I turn you around? I just want to look make sure. Do you have any other >> I see you have a mark right here? >> I promise >> on the side of your face. >> I promise I'm okay. >> Did you do these marks to yourself? >> This one right here? That one? Yes. >> Yes. Any of them. Like I see you have some redness here and a mark on your arm. She insisted everything was under control, but the physical evidence told a different story. When someone emphasizes control too strongly, it often signals that control is already slipping. >> It's not an option. If we get called to something and somebody tells us there, okay, especially who says to you, your husband, >> my fiance. >> Okay, your fiance. It's not an option for us. Okay? So, when you tell us that there's a disturbance, he clearly says there disturbance and we now see physical markings on you. It's not an option for us. Okay? So, it. Nobody necessarily has to go to jail, but we need to know what happened because we cannot be put in the legality of just walking away from here and saying she's got it. Okay, that's not >> I promise I got it. But he was drinking an option. >> I know, but he was drinking earlier. >> Okay. >> And he got out of hand a little bit. I promise it it's going to be okay. >> I want to get her away from the tire. >> Yeah. >> I If he's not going to talk with us, I don't want him sitting here and listening to our conversation. So, can we go behind the the vehicle? >> We can go behind the vehicle for rescue. >> Yeah, you can come over here. We're just going to have rescue check you out. Make sure you know everything's okay. >> How you doing? Good. Feel >> good? >> Yeah. >> All right. You mind if you go in the light so I can start? Yeah. Got it. >> Okay. So, do you mind if I take some photos of your hands first? The arrival of medical personnel wasn't just about treatment. It established documented baseline injuries. That objective record often becomes a critical step before a formal arrest process begins. >> Am I being arrested or >> I'm trying to take photos? >> Do you have any other injuries? Do you know anything else? >> I'm okay. Um, I know people on your right. >> All right. So, due to the investigation, we're placing you under arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Okay. You can walk right over this way. >> Yeah. So yeah, don't leave it here yet. >> It should be unlocked. I >> We didn't. >> Okay, I'm just going to patch you down. You don't have anything in your dress or anything that's going to poke me, stick me? No weapons, no nothing. >> Just minutes earlier, she was still attempting to shape the narrative. But once the handcuffs clicked, control shifted entirely. That moment marked the collision between personal ego and legal limits. >> Can you widen your stance for me? >> Okay. >> If you face me and you sit, that's easier way to >> Okay. Do you have a license or an ID at all? >> It's in the house. >> Sorry. >> Okay. >> Do you know where in the house your daughter tried to look in your wallet, but it wasn't in there? >> It's on my phone. My camera. >> Okay. >> I don't know if you want to ask them first if they want to come out yet. >> Yeah. I'm going call him first. >> So, he might be a trauma alert. >> She He just said she he is. He is. Yeah. He's going to help us. All right. Let me um give you one call. >> All right. >> Okay. I have >> Do you want to wait here and not finish up her daughter? >> Okay. I >> I swore her to her statement. Her statement is on the counter. I don't know if he's willing to now cuz I asked him before, but he was so uncooperative at the beginning and then he's >> I think I have enough on my ax on >> and we have some that video. He emailed it to me. Hopefully I got it. Okay. >> Um >> so I'll go fish over here. I'm going to hold this and see if um they're coming. Okay. It wasn't an outsider who provided evidence. It was her own daughter. When family becomes the source of verification, situations rarely remain simple. Sometimes silence is no longer an option. >> Um, so that's going to be she assault with a deadly weapon for him. um domestic strangulation >> on him. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> That would be the agile on the daughter cuz she threw the knife in her >> direction. I just cuz she had she she was choking him while 11 years ago >> right No, they were he was saying somewhere from yesterday, the day before there were some that he was unsure of. >> Right. Every injury that occurred, >> she's inside getting the statement from the dog. >> Okay. Okay. Do um I have the knife in my trunk. Is Should I just submit that to evidence later? Was she going to take that over? I have >> helpful. >> Okay. >> Is it very much further? >> Uh no. We're literally not 2 minutes away. >> Both my hands are numb. The cuts are really tight. She was ultimately transported to jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery by strangulation, and battery against her daughter.
